Sophisticated sushi and ramen restaurant at the center of Monroe street. Looking for fresh sushi and a delicious bowl of ramen? Or maybe a drink or two? Look no further, sequoia is dedicated to make your experience unique and memorable. Come try out the best sushi and ramen in Madison.
Sequoia on Monroe Street in Madison, WI is a great place for sushi! We also got pork buns, gyoza, wings and ramen, delicious!
They also have happy hour Monday through Friday from 4pm-6pm. I haven't been too yet but will definitely check out for the discounted sushi, beer, and cocktails.

Went out for a large group dinner for the first time and the food and drinks were delicious! Highly recommend the blue lagoon cocktail and the scallop dream roll. Unfortunately service was quite slow and food came out at different points for the group. Interior design is tasteful with a bar and mini lounge area. Would try again!

What a great sushi and ramen spot in the Monroe Neighborhood 🍣🍜
Beautifully interior design we dinned here for dinner and it was a great experience along with delicious food! Here is what we ordered!
Pork buns, BBQ Wings, Miso Ramen.
Sushi Rolls: We ordered most of the seared items! Aburi Salmon, Torched Roll (Yellowtail), Butterfish Roll and (non-seared Uptown Funk) Every roll has its own unique flavor but my ultimate favorite was the Butterfish roll! 🍣
I certainly cannot wait to go back and our server was so sweet and wonderful!

I have to say I'm impressed. All the food was genuinely good. The sushi tasted fresh and flavorful, not just the usual mild fishy flavor, and the pork buns were masterful. I strongly recommend ordering the pork buns, they have amazing taste and the meat is very tender.
Nice environment, peaceful and kinda bougie... appropriate for its location. I came during happy hour when draft beer is $3 as are pork buns. Do yourself a favor and come here after work.

The sushi was good and had seemingly quality ingredients, but nothing we had was exceptional. The service was almost awkward? We had a reservation but it was almost like they didn't expect us. They were nice but similar to the food, not exceptional. The food was presented beautifully, it just didn't knock my socks off. I'd recommend this place as a solid option. They also have a very cool looking bar. It was quiet on the Saturday night we went, but it was also during a badger game.

If you have all night to wait for drinks and food to be delivered to your table, this is the place for you. Having said that, the food and drinks were very good. Service was extraordinarily slow, waters were never refilled, no server came to check in and explain why the service was slow, we had to ask to speak with them about this. The server stated there were plenty of chefs in the kitchen and didn’t understand the holdup. Had a reservation for 5 people, got there a couple of minutes before 6pm and ordered our happy-hour drinks which came 40 minutes later. Food took a very long time to come to the table. This seemed to be a theme with other tables in the restaurant. One couple got up and left. I will wait a bit but will give this restaurant another try. Again, drinks, pork buns, and sushi were very good. The time from ordering to table delivery is undesirable.

Went to Sequoia for the first with another couple hoping to enjoy someplace new. What I didn’t expect was waiting 30 minutes to have anyone even acknowledge us, another 20 minutes to get our drinks, and another 30 minutes to get our food. Add to that the appetizers never came.
I can usually forgive a restaurant for being busy and understaffed, but why am I going to pay more than I would at RED for worse sushi and non existent service?
They do have unique rolls that were not bad. But at those prices you can enjoy something much, much better and have zero issues with service. Do yourself a favor and go to RED if you want quality at the same price, or one of the many other budget sushi restaurants around town if you want a lot for cheap.

made a reservation, took awhile to get sitted, then no waiter came to fill up water or take order for 20minutes only because we got up and asked. waiters kept serving everyone else might’ve been because we weren’t white, they served the people who came after us too. it has been over an hour and food is not out, the drink isn’t out either, and no one is coming to update us. It is reaching the 1.5 hour mark. the place needs new waiters who knows how to at least update customers when their food is running 1.5 hour late.
—-
update: it was under nick. if you were there then you would’ve known because nick had to get up twice, we waited 90 minutes for our food our reservation was at 7:30. im not the type of person who writes reviews unless it’s really bad (also only have 2 total reviews after this). do not lie to your customers. instead of admitting and apologizing you want to pin the blame on your customers, feel free to check cameras. the only person that came to check up on us what the guy at the bar after we asked the front about our food.

Ordered appetizers from the happy hour menu that took over an hour to come out. By the time the sushi came out 40 minutes after we ordered and we had finished our meal, we didn't really want to eat the apps anymore so we cancelled them. Waitstaff is running around not very attentive, don't seem to know what's going on, can't answer a single question about the menu. Overall just a disjointed dining experience. Also the bluefin tuna nigiri is the same price on the happy hour menu as the regular menu and that's just skeevy to me.

Never had a worse experience at a restaurant until I went here. I came here with three of my friends for a nice fun dinner before heading to our homecoming dance. Little did we know we would not eat much there. We ordered our food and waited for probably an hour. Mind you when we got to the restaurant it was nowhere near full. A waiter (not the one who took our order)came to us and gave us one out of the two appetizers we ordered. We devoured that salad because at that point we were hungry. We hadn't eaten since 9 am. Our original waiter does not come to check on us whatsoever. We were left abandoned. We wait for another hour and our original waiter comes to our table. She tells us that she lost our order and had to retake it. First of all, how do you lose 4 people's orders? That's ridiculous. We reorder our food trying to hold in our anger. She told us it would take 30 minutes for it to be done. We wait there for 30 more min and our food is still nowhere to be found and no waiter. Not to mention people who came after us were getting their food and yet ours is nowhere. One of my friends goes up to the front desk and asks if we could have it to-go because at this point we wouldn't have made it to the dance if we were to eat it there. We then wait another 30 min and our food is still not there. Our waiter comes over and says it will take 15 minutes more. At that point, we were done. We got up and paid for the one appetizer we ate (a salad that was split for 4 people) and left. Not to mention they barely put a discount on our appetizers. I do not recommend going here. This was the worst experience. Not to mention I had such high hopes and wanted sushi. Disappointing. Saying sorry doesn't change anything.

The place is quaint. Daughter and I ordered gyoza, then ramen and sushi roll. Gyoza was good - just an appetizer. The mains (ramen and roll) came out at different times - like 20 minutes apart. The ramen came first and finally the sushi roll. After sitting and ordering, no one came back. The waiter ignored us. We had to ask other staff for the rest of the order and the check.

Walked in expecting to have a comfortable easy dinner… ordered drinks that looked great, and did taste great. I’d ordered a drink that I’d assumed would come served up and would be pink (read cranberry juice), it came with a cucumber in a tumbler. When I asked the waitress about this discrepancy she seemed just as confused as I was and brought the bar tenders menu for me to check (this matched what was in front of me, not what was on the menu). After ordering drinks we put in a food order pretty quickly, our appetizer came out and then nothing else did for 50 minutes. No waitress checking in on our table to see if we needed anything, not even water refills. Finally she appeared with something that wasn’t what we ordered but the table next to us — who arrived 20 minutes after us and had food, drinks, and service. We ended up needing to flag down the other waitress in our section to check about our food, she got it to us in a minute. When the food arrived it was room temp, and we’d ordered both cold and hot rolls. The UpTown funk roll was easily best of the three, only because it had the least amount of raw ingredients. We had high hopes for the crispy rice and it came out as a day old tater tot in texture with the topping falling off if you looked at it wrong. The salmon avocado was fine, nothing special.
New Waitress comped 1 roll and was apologetic, if she’d been our waitress for the evening our experience could have been different. Hindsight, we ordered raw fish and took a risk eating it after it had been sitting out in the kitchen for nearly an hour. We got lucky and had no sickness, but it was a risk.
Long story short: Waitress abandoned us at our table for an hour when our food had probably been ready for 40 minutes. Won’t be returning which is too bad because it’s the only sushi place in the neighborhood.

Where should I start on this place? This place is amazing. The walls are a beautiful brown color with a very, very, very cozy brown aesthetic all over the restaurant and including the windows which are beautifully decorated as well as the walls. The atmosphere is fantastic, the server was incredibly kind, gentle and just “nice.” the food was amazing.
For my first dish, I didn’t even expect it. They brought out the eggroll as a “thank you“ for coming, and I would rate it an 11/10 if I could. It wasn’t even on the menu.
My last and final dish was the butterfish roll. It was delicious. Again an 11/10. Probably the best sushi roll I’ve had in my entire 28 years of living here.
Also, why does this place only have 4.2 stars? Are people crazy???

Updated review: My parents and i have ordered takeout from sequoia a few times. Everytime we ordered they consistently forgot our ginger and wasabi. last night, we ordered extra wasabi and ginger and unfortunately we still got none. it was quite dead, and the person who gave us our order even said it was in there. We didn't notice we didn't have our ginger and wasabi until we got home. the person who gave us our order seemed to have very little remorse about this.
What a great place for dinner!!! My parents and I loved the Gyoza as an appetizer. Also the sushi we ordered was astounding. Even though we did not drink, every thursday you can get $10 off any bottle of wine. I recommend The Vilas and The Vegetarian rolls! The vegetarian roll was amazing, and i was not expecting the flavors melting into each other.

We got the Sequoia Deluxe which includes a California roll, 6 nigiri (2 ea: salmon, yellowtail, tuna this might be chefs choice), and chefs choice specialty roll which he created. The specialty roll was the best roll I’ve had since being in Madison! Nigiri was delicious as well. Also had Spicy Edamame for an appetizer which was spicy and perfect. I got a beer and my husband got a drink total came to $56. Great price for great quality. Also cute relaxed vibes going. Can’t wait to come back. Parking is on the street so can be difficult if a busy time.

Good food and drinks, friendly staff, and nice atmosphere. The dragon roll (eel) was our favorite roll and their spicy edamame was great too. They seemed a little understaffed when we last went but that is not the fault of the staff that are working there. Everyone was very nice, apologized for the wait, and were doing their best to keep up with how busy it was. We enjoyed our visit and look forward to coming back!

Decent sushi place in Madison. Nice spot, good service, and good food. Not the best sushi in Madison, but pretty good and you get a great value for money.

Brilliant spot for sushi. I’ve been to all of the legacy sushi restaurants in Madison, and Sequoia has RED and Muramoto beat. Quiet ambience, creative, fish-forward rolls and delightful ramen make this place special. Of note, the “torched” rolls (choice of either spicy salmon, tuna or escolar) are dreamy. They entail a spicy fish filling in the roll with seared fish on top. Whoever created the concept of the torched roll is genius. For folks who also love a first course, Sequoia has lovely appetizers (salmon skin salad or vegetarian gyoza, anyone?) that are well worth the added cost.
Quite frankly, I don’t understand the negative reviews regarding the service. Do you want people to wait on you hand and foot? Too bad; check your attitude at the door. Every single person who has attended to us has been polite, helpful and quick.
Altogether, if you want a quiet spot to indulge your love for high-quality sushi, this is your place to go.

Great sushi rolls. 1843 and Wisco Heat were our favorites. Gyoza was tasty, too. Skip the pork buns. My fancy cocktail and the Thai iced tea were both really tasty. We had extremely fast service on a Friday night at 6pm, as there was hardly anyone else here. I would like to get back to try some more rolls and the Ramen.

We had dinner at Sequoia recently, and the food was good. However, we were there a bit before closing, and the servers were clearly in a hurry to get people out. We are ok with that, but even though we were still there before closing time, our drinks were taken before we with one almost halfway full without asking. We did not have the chance to get our waiter’s attention before it was gone. It was overall a decent experience, but we are a little disappointed we could not finish what we paid for.

The food was really good but the service was terrible. We went around 9pm because the website says they close at 10pm and we got told that they were closing but they will still see us but the bar and kitchen was closing right after we put our orders in. They continuously made us feel like we were burdening them and like they wanted to get us out of there as soon as possible. They told us after we ordered that we could only split the checks 2 ways and we had a group of 9. The server was supposed to add automatic 20% tip onto the bill and we had cash and card to pay with. We got the bill back after she ran the card and said she forgot to add the gratuity on and didnt put the cash towards the bill and thought the $120 cash we put in was her tip. Then when we asked for the cash because we were missing a $20 bill and the server said she had no idea where it was. Definitely will not be back.

We arrived right at open but had to wait outside the locked door until about 12-15 minutes past. The young hostess/server was polite enough, but was in no rush to seat us which was annoying. She took a phone call before seating us.. we we're the only two there!
Onto the food – I was surprised how much I enjoyed it! The vegetable dumplings were delectable, and the shrimp tempura, too! The shrimp was tender and juicy and the light breading was perfect. The pork buns were a miss, though. Dry and no real flavor other then a slight (and misplaced IMO) cinnamon/spice taste. The seared salmon nigiri was also gross in my opinion (it was sort of metal-y and fishy tasting?).. I spit it out, actually. BUT, I am open to the possibility that it's simply a matter of personal preference... Despite this, what stole the show for me (and this review) was the escolar on top of one of the rolls (the one with asparagus in it). It was the most buttery, delectable piece of fish I've ever put in my mouth! I'm coming back for you, escolar.
Ambiance? Just lovely.

Was pleasantly surprised by Sequoia. I was with a large group so we tried a variety of items and all were outstanding. This includes gyoza, chicken wings, ramen and sushi. The specialty rolls were very unique and well done, including the Aburi Salmon roll, Torched roll, and the Uptown Funk roll that included New York Strip. Sushi rice is a challenge for many Madison Sushi restaurants, but was perfect at Sequoia on the night we were there. Might be my new top Sushi joint in Madison.

It's a Japanese Asian Fusion restaurant. The name might suggest a different cuisine which is why I'd ignored it for the longest time. I had a really good time here. The peanut sauce ramen were amazing, the pork baos nice and fluffy, and the hot milk tea had a rare perfect balance of tea to milk to sugar (I think they use sugar syrup of sorts). It was the only dine-in place with tables available on a Sunday evening in the area. Can't wait to try their sushi and sake cocktails.

Dined in for dinner last night and had a great experience! Hostess and waitress were very friendly and the dining room is really pretty. We ordered cocktails, gyoza, and a few sushi rolls and all were very delicious and presented very beautifully. Felt like a high end dinner but prices were reasonable for how tasty and pretty everything was. Overall good vibes.

The food was only in small amounts (which could be typical of that type of restaurant, but I was not happy with it).
Most of the options have some type of raw fish/seaweed in item (which is indicated on the menu).
Visited 2 years ago
Ordered the ramen for pick up and it was very sub par. I could get broth and ramen noodles that tasted just as good from the asian grochery store. Not only that, but the pork tasted expired and gave me a stomach ache shortly after.
Edit: 1 day later and I now have full on food poisoning, if I could rate 0 stars I would.

My husband and friends and I have shifted our sushi fandom to Sequoia lately. We had moved from the east side to Middleton and were grieving our proximity to Takumi. Sequoia has been excellent! We've been multiple times, and they have great cocktails and sushi. Some fresh rolls and some delicious cooked ones. The price point is comparable or lower than some of the other upper echelon sushi restaurants in Madison.

Visited Sequoia for a date night. I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant and won’t be returning. Overall, there are plenty of other Madison restaurants that offer similar menu items and prices, with a much tastier execution.
For context, we were so excited to try this restaurant and the menu had us really excited. We started off with the jasmine tea, baked mussels, pork gyoza, and pork buns. I liked the mussels. The pork buns were okay, but it seemed like they skimped on the filling.
We picked out the Sequoia Deluxe and Sequoia Ramen for entrees. The sushi that was served was sub par. The fish seemed fresh, but the rice was dry and stiff. The dish came with a California roll, which was shockingly mediocre. It was dried out, and cut unevenly. The ramen was also disappointing, with a lackluster broth.
In addition to this, service seemed a bit chaotic and slow even though the restaurant only had about 3 other occupied tables.

Excellent ramen, rolls, and salads. Had the Sequoia Ramen and really enjoyed it. All the classic elements including a rich broth. Sequoia salad was large and very fresh. Pleasant service. It is rarely crowded so it's a reliable last minute decision.
Visited 3 years ago
Had the sequoia salad and a baked scallop roll. The salad was large, more than enough for 2 people to share. It was a nice mix of veggies, avocado and a good sized portion of deaf salad. Very tasty. The roll was also a generous sized dish with scallops and crabmeat on top. Nice balance of flavors. Upscale atmosphere with everyday prices. And the waitstaff was attentive.

One of the best places in Madison for a nice date night out. Small and beautifully furnished restaurant and an excellent bar. We had very attentive service, with two waiters continually making sure everything was going great for my husband and I.
I will say hands down they serve the best custom Mule I've ever had. Don't hesitate to order the Wisco-Mule, it's so perfectly balanced and delicious. We ordered the Sequoia Ramen for each of us and a Torched Roll with salmon to share. The sushi was amazing and so fresh, literally melted in your mouth. The broth in the ramen was something I could eat every day and be happy.
If you haven't been here yet you're truly missing out on something special.
Visited 3 years ago
Pretty ehe food. Girlfriend and I both got the ramen as their sushi selection is limited on standard roll (only spicy tuna but no tuna roll???). The egg in the ramen was hard boiled and covered in some strong distasteful seasoning powder (the menu call out a soft boiled egg). The wait staff wasn't present often as we needed to seek out the one waiter working when it was just us and one other group of 3 in the restaurant.
I would suggest going somewhere else if you have the option to. It's an ok to eat at if you have friends who want to try it or like it but I wouldn't go here if I had other choices.

I love this place! All the ingredients are fresh, which is key for a good sushi restaurant. I also like that they have grilled choice for sushi and rolls (grilled salmon roll or sushi is really good) for people who don’t necessarily enjoy raw fish. The owner is very friendly and is willing to provide good service. I recommend this place!

This is a really nice option for sushi and ramen in downtown Madison. The food is very tasty and thoughtfully prepared. I have had appetizers, ramen, and sushi here and have never been disappointed. Excellent cocktails as well. The service is also very good- polite and attentive, with a laid back feel (not rushed). The restaurant itself has a beautiful interior. The menu isn't extensive, but it doesn't need to be- everything on it is good.
Favorites: baked mussel appetizer, baked scallop roll, vegetarian ramen with veggie broth

2 star experience with 4 star food! Came on Valentine’s Day and when I say we didn’t get our drinks for 30 minutes after were seated. To be honest it was almost 40. That’s because it took our sever 15 minutes to take our app and drink order after we sat. (It was busy, but not packed wall to wall) Then our food just took too long. Server was nice and comped the drinks, but her shift was done apparently during our meal and so she left without telling us. Someone else took over but they seemed a bit confused, so again we waited to get our checks as she was MIA. So we skipped dessert. My biggest issue was at no point was a manager visible on the floor or touching tables checking on guests experience. To me that’s wHat sets good restaurants from great ones. We might be back but that’s because the sushi was pretty good.

Trader Joe’s across the street has better sushi, I’m not joking. Every roll was filled with copious amounts of cucumber which was super strange. One roll was supposed to have avocado but nope, just cucumber! CUCUMBER FOR EVERYBODY. Clearly it’s a ploy to cut back on cost. I have never once in my life ordered a spicy tuna roll and had it come out with flipping cucumber in it. Felt like we inconvenienced the staff with any request. Definitely won’t be back. Oh and my Crop Circle Wheat was so old and sour that I couldn’t finish it. I didn’t bother to tell them because they wouldn’t have cared anyways.

Decided to give Sequoia a try for Valentine's Day. I know it was Valentine's Day but in general felted rushed when it wasn't too busy being later in the evening. Ordered a couple of apps and rolls/sashimi and everything came out at once which was a first for me at a sushi spot. For the sashimi platter didn't really get a lay of the land on what was on the platter. My place setting didn't have utensils and also took awhile to get dishes for soy sauce. The rainbow roll was good and we also enjoyed the steamed dumplings. Overall an okay experience that left a lot to be desired for a menu that dollar for dollar is in line with RED and others in the area where we've had better personal experiences.

The food here was spectacular. We got 2 specialty and 1 regular roll between two of us and barely got through it. 2 probably would have been enough. Overall the quality of the Sushi was amazing. Get the '1843' roll. You won't regret it. Great vibes, great service, will definitely be back

It costs a little bit of money, but the food was great. I also love that building. :) Get the spicy edamame!

Delicious food and wonderful atmosphere. Go here for a date night! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Food is prepared fast but fresh. Pricing is a bit high but not unbearable.

It's anyone's guess which rolls are going to have mayo and which aren't. Looking at the description of the vegetarian roll on the menu, I would have thought "no", but I was incorrect - it had mayo despite mayo not being a listed ingredient. Not everyone's going to like that.

Sequoia is our go to date night restaurant in Madison! Great food, great sushi, and the atmosphere feels secluded and relaxed.

If i could give it less than one star i would. Ordered over the phone after our first experience was fantastic-they were accommodating to us being vegan. The second time around, they messed up the order, after we just picked it up and discovered we got not what we ordered, also-ask questions because their online menu doesn’t include everything that’s included in the ingredients list. They told us it would be over a two hour wait to get it remade at the very least. Went to try and remedy the problem and talked to multiple people that got me nowhere except made me feel dumb for my order even though they put items that weren’t on the previous order in this order. They then assured me I’d get my meal refunded, then proceeded to process the full amount anyways. Soooo in short, it’s been a little disheartening to say the least.

Went here for the sushi. My partner and I struggled to find some rolls that sounded good. We haven’t been back since.

I had the worst service of my life here. We ordered our food, three sushi rolls and chicken wings. the wings came out 45 minutes later and were literally raw. We asked for our rolls and they said they were being made as we spoke. We waited another 30 minutes. Someone sat down next to us, got their food before us, and was eating in this time period. Finally after 90 minutes of waiting and being served raw food we asked for the check and to leave. It took an additional 15 minutes for our check because our server had left without telling us and we had to ask the host for the check and the rolls. She said they still hadn't made our food... and they still charged us for drinks. So we left. The worst service I have ever encountered in my life. We will find out if we get food poisoning from the raw chicken.

Wanted to try this place for a while - submitted an order on Doordash. Over two hours later, after multiple drivers had stopped to try and pick up order, Doordash cancelled the order. I called Sequoia directly, who advised, after call back and "checking with the chef on order" that they "weren't taking Doordash orders today", even though they had accepted the order through Doordash. Clearly some organizational/FOH skills lacking here.

Amazing food. Great service. I think this is our new favorite sushi restaurant in Madison. We will be back!

Attentive service and the food was delicious. The kiwi smoothie was surprisingly tasty as well. Maybe need a little more spice in the Spicy California roll, but that's my only gripe.

Oh WOW!! Can I just say this place is SIMPLY AMAZING!!! Sushi is so so good!! The fish was so fresh and the sushi was bursting with flavors.
Love the decor and the vibe of the place. Service was excellent. Our server recommended the Cherry Blossom and Vilas Sunrise rolls and my oh my they were absolutely delicious. The Dragon and Torched tuna roll was equally good. Our sushi vanished in minutes, the kids devoured it. The spicy edamame and veggie gyoza were perfect. 10/10 for me.
First time experience was great, will be adding it to our list of regulars

Beautiful place. Food was good. Service was HORRIBLE. Our waiter never checked on us. Drinks were long overdue. Food we ordered were missing. Just the worse service possible.
Edit: The owner did contact me to apologize as they have recently reopened after being impacted by the still ongoing pandemic.
I should clarify that I have heard great things about this place initially and had every intention to return in the near future. Perhaps it was just our waitress specifically who dropped the ball and do not intend to use this first time experience to deter anyone from visiting this place. The food is definitely worth the visit.

Just another Covid19 delivery, or so I thought! As a sushi lover I don’t necessarily try new places without actually going in, but there is always a first. Super pleased with quality, speed of delivery and flavor. The rolls, the seaweed salad were all delicious; fish went down like butter. And the matcha cheesecake was the surprise! Totally ordered on a whim and won’t be the last time. If you want Sushi Red like flare but pay less and have great quality— this is it! Also delivery took much less time than they advertised. The delivery was impeccable and contained everything you need without having to ask for it. Highly recommend it!

If you're looking for a restaurant to the drop the ball big time on delivery orders, this is your place. Delicious food but who knows when you'll get it? Try calling - they don't answer. They don't even have voicemail set up.

Extremely overpriced for what you get. Rolls were poorly made and the ingredients taste and look low quality. If you want asian or sushi, look elsewhere.

The ramen smell just was off and we weren’t able to eat the food

The vegetarian ramen is perfect. Specifically, the broth is unbelievable. It’s like seeing an entire color for the first time: I literally didn’t know a taste like that is possible. Still stunned.

Not bad, but not good. The ramen broth tasted okay but gave off a strange smell and after taste. Disappointed considering how the menu is priced.

The best ramen I’ve ever had! They also have gluten free option and the GF noodles are fantastic!

We enjoyed the delivery order from Sequoia that was timely and friendly. Great menu options for any taste. Conveniently located on Monroe Street not far from downtown Madison. They offer free delivery with minimum $10 order. More than reasonable. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love this place!! The rolls are so well prepared and creative, high quality sushi. Plus love the sequioa salad.

Tasty ramen for a nice price, you will get a good amount of broth which is also useful for cooking later. But there could be more veggies 😉

I've been craving sushi since quarantine started but there aren't many options on my end of town. A friend found Sequoia and we decided to give it a go and ordered delivery. I was delighted! Food came quickly, tasted fresh and was incredibly delicious. The Vilas Sunrise is a must-try, and the Spicy Shrimp roll was also a hit. Will definitely be ordering from here again!

Fast, tasty, and careful delivery during our prolonged “Staycation”. Sequoia exceeded expectations for delivery. Sushi was fresh and a beautiful change of pace. So glad to have this option in our neighborhood! Pork buns were a big hit with our kids.

Food was good, but service was slow even when the place was half full. I think I only saw two employees the whole time I was there (the bar tender and the hostess).

I had reservations at 11 a.m. Sunday 1/12 and was taking friends for the first time. We waited outside in the cold for 15 minutes and there were no lights on inside or any sign of any activity. Another group was waiting also who had reservations. We all left at 11:15 and went elsewhere to eat. Very disappointing since we had great expectations for eating there.

Best sushi and more in Madison! Started off with the dumplings. So good. From there we had the Spicy Tuna, the the Spider and then the 1848. Very good flavors. Service was excellent. Friendly staff and good prices!

The pork buns were excellent, the caterpillar roll was good, and it has the best decor/atmosphere of any sushi place in Madison. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because their special sushi rolls were all kind of samey and I wish there were more interesting options.
Bonus: The lunch special and happy hour offers some staples at great prices.
