Unusual chef specialties are served with more common varieties at this casual sushi venue.
I was new to sushi prior to eating here and I have to say this sushi restaurant is amazing (and fun!) The main floor is regular seating at tables and booths. We sat upstairs in the "boats" section where there is a round seating section with 3 employees in the middle and the guests sit on the outside. The menu is along the wall in front of you to choose which rolls you want the cooks to make. You can choose as many rolls as you want as this place is all you can eat sushi. There are even rolls for those who don't want to eat fish. They also have boats going around in a moat in front of you which each have a plate with 1 or 2 pieces of sushi on them. The boats are color-coded based on the sushi. Red is spicy, blue is raw, green is veggie, and brown is cooked. You can take as many of those as you want as well. The staff was extremely nice. I've been back since the first time and I can't wait to go back again. So yummy!

We went to Island Sushi on my birthday. Is was the mid afternoon and was fairly slow so we were able to get a seat right away. Staff was friendly and we enjoyed the atmosphere a lot. As the sushi started coming around, we began sampling the options by grabbing what we wanted. Here's the only reason I am giving Island Sushi a 4 star review. Everything we tried was okay. Nothing was bad, but nothing was great. The novelty of an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant is fun and I'm sure we will come back again. Don't have your expectations too high and you'll have a great experience.

Friendly staff, that's the saving grace. The sushi was just ok, the dessert sushi was a great idea, but poorly executed. Sushi was brought out without wasabi or ginger for some weird reason. The flavor wasn't anything special accompanied by rather small rolls. It might be worth checking out for the buffet, but the done in/order from the menu was sub par.

The service at the bar and at our table was wonderful. The added piece of having a local artist singing during our meal was a plus. We did the all you can eat option at the table instead of the boats. The reason for the 4 stars is that the rice was not cooked fully. We had hard rice with each bite of our sushi rolls. We have been before and the sushi has been fantastic. We will be back to give them another shot. Assuming it was just an off night.

New owners need to figure out staff issues. Bar tender seemed really out of it or on something and 3 employees openly arguing in front of customers 2 behind the boats and a waitress. Been here many times before and this by far was the absolute worst experience especially with us bringing people here from out of town proud of the uniqueness of island sushi to only be completely disappointed with us waiting and waiting for 1 plate with 1pc of sushi on the plate. There was 2 other couples upstairs that were quite upset as well. So a total of 8 people with 2 guys making rolls. Also one of the couples was at the bar for 2.5 hrs prior to going upstairs. We were told 30 minutes turned out to be 1.5hrs. It was so bad for both of us that staff discounted our meals because of how ridiculous that evening was. New owner NEEDS to step up and train or manage employees. $43.99 taken off the receipt. And we were given a free round of drinks for the huge inconvenience. Definitely WILL NOT be back anytime soon

Very disappointing, Spent $20 on just sushi and left still hungry. The rolls ($13 Caterpillar with eel; and $7 Philadelphia with salmon) were more that 85% rice and if not for the sauce used I would not have been able to tell the difference.
Also have to clarify, this is not Island Sushi (Thought that was obvious cause well the name...) there are NO BOATS and they DO NOT have all you can eat.. It's pay by menu item.

I would loved to give this place 4.5 stars. The all you can eat sushi boat table is just fun. You can try some new rolls you may not have tried before. Staff was friendly and interactive with customers. Great deal for the amount of sushi you can get. Why not the full star for the 5? It is more Americanized sushi so you are not getting crazy ingredients like squid or white tuna. Don't get me wrong the food is still really good just don't expect authentic.

The bartender wasn't wearing a mask, simply because "it fogged up her glasses", employees should be wearing a mask. Two couples also, weren't wearing a mask either. The second couple walked in, with no masks on, but the bartender didn't tell them to put one on. I've sushi from here, and its alright, but I'm not ordering from here, because they aren't having people wear a mask, and most importantly the bartender wasn't wearing a mask.

We ordered from here last night and we were NOT impressed. It was not worth the money we spent. It looked like homemade sushi. The rolls were coming apart and the rice was falling off, some pieces didn't even have fish in them. We ordered a lot of food to feed the family and they pack 1 small cup of soy sauce and 1 small cup of wasabi for 5 people. We even confirmed if everything was in the bag. Very disappointed and we will not be going to this place again.

Boats and all you can eat have both been removed from the menu. I had been looking forward to a great night and my favorite food. Instead I was told this place has new management and burgers are the best thing on the menu. The selection on the sushi is minimal, the boats and all love for this establishment is gone. Wait staff was still wonderful, the place is clean, menus are dirty and unprofessional.

This review is for Chopsticks Sushi. We went to the restaurant to order our sushi to take home. We ordered a drink and appetizer while waiting. The bartender must have been new because she didn’t know what kind of beer they had. I ordered a Chardonnay and it was not chilled. For $6.00 I got a couple ounces with ice thrown in. We did order egg rolls and they were good. We ordered 3 different sushi rolls. When we got home and opened the container, they looked awful. They tasted even worse than they looked. They all tasted the same. Stale mushy rice with a spec of something we couldn’t tell what it was. Buying sushi at the grocery store would have been 10 times better at a fraction of the cost. I have had a lot of sushi and this was by far the worst and my family agreed. Sorry Chopsticks but I think you need a new sushi chef! I will not be returning.

We walked out hungry! Waitress didn't wear a mask and carried food so uncleaned. Please use a tray to carry all the food if you are going upstairs Instead of using your hands or dirty shirt. Don't hold the pitcher of water where water is poured from, use the handle. WE RECEIVED OUR FIRST DISH 1HR LATER! THEY MISSED ONE DISH THAT WAS RECOMMENDED BY THE WAITRESS! SUSHI IS TINY, FESTIVAL SUSHI ARE BIGGER AND BETTER. We had to ask for Ginger and Wasabi!! I understand she gave us a discount on food due to long wait time and missing our dish. **How can you serve sushi and doesn't serve seaweed salad!!! They need another Waitress and better service, PERIOD!

The sushi was about 60-70% rice. I think the eel sauce was just high sodium soy sauce, it wasn't sweet at all. The food didn't have much flavor, except the spicy roll which was all heat.

I don't eat sushi regularly; however, the sushi is so much better since they became Chopsticks Sushi due to their more specialized menu. Each roll came out as they were made, cutting down on the wait time, as well. I really liked eating here!

I ordered delivery and it was so pathetic. I can’t believe I paid that much for rice. There was close to no fillings in the rolls. When they called and asked if they could use tuna instead of salmon, that should have been my first sign. Well if they used tuna I sure couldn’t see it. It was all rice and still so small. I took pictures because I couldn’t believe it. I know I won’t be ordering here again. I advise you also save your money.

1st of all, if you're understaffed, you should let your customers know that there's a wait. We got our drinks however my wife and I waited a half an hour before asking our waitress again to see how long the wait was? She said she was unsure and that she was the only waitress, also she mixed our orders up. There were 2 groups that sat down before us and they didn't receive their food yet. There were 2 more groups after us and they walked out. Rolls were 3/$25 or 3/$35. I highly do not recommend it. I believe there was no management around. Go to SUSHI LOVER instead. Price is cheaper and food is amazing there. At least you know you'll get for what you paid for, buffet style too. We left after waiting 15 more mins. I'd give a zero star.

My boyfriend and I ordered takeout here for the first time. We ordered 3 rolls and got 2. We ordered calamari and they gave us onion rings.. when we called to ask them why we got onion rings they said “we ran out of calamari.” ??? Unreal lol. The two sushi rolls we got were super yummy, but we probably won’t be going back here!

Not a great first impression. We were seated upstairs. When we walked upstairs it smelled as if it had been locked up for months and not cleaned since they opened. Dead flies sitting in the windows. We waited a long time for our order to be taken and for any food to arrive. There were 3-4 other tables seated by us. We all waited for a long time for food. For all the tables that were upstairs one roll came out 20 mins apart. We were the 1st table to order and the last table to receive any rolls. We were there for 2 hours and received one roll. We ended up leaving before any other rolls came out. They are under staffed and not at all ready for business. If you’re going to have a Facebook “promotion” for 25 people to receive free rolls maybe be prepared for the offered service. I got charged $7.39 for the “free” roll I got via the promotion.

I very rarely write a bad review but this was a horrible experience. If I could give it zero stars, I would. We waited over 2 hours and never got all of our food, finally after begging for our final roll, they put it in a to-go box it looked like it was sitting in a box shaken up and sitting for hours. The people next to us were warning people as they came in not to order but rather get up and leave. Some also sitting there for 2 hours and never received their food (but paid for it!) Our server never apologized, just kept saying that the food was coming! She also was putting the wrong food at the wrong table then taking it off their table and putting it on another’s (definitely not an appropriate way to handle food during covid). Also, we witnessed a server setting up a table for new people when it was never cleaned from the previous people. Do not waste your time or money!

Received a message on Facebook saying I won a free roll for Saturday. Their sign on the door, website, and Facebook page said they were open until 10pm on Saturday. My friend and I walked in a little after 7pm and were greeted with someone yelling “I told you to lock the door”, so I asked “are you closed?” and was told yes as they came to the front to lock the door, 3 hours before their closing time with no explanation. Not very professional nor a good first impression, probably won’t bother to go back.

Very poor service. We waited 20 min between rolls, only got them once we asked where they were. Waited 45 min before our first one after ordering.
Watched many people leave after waiting to order.
No drinks. Same rolls differed between tables and orders.
Awkwardly quiet dining room.
Very bad experience. We will not return.

Out of the four rolls we had, I liked the spicy tuna the most. The rice seemed too moist for sushi. Each of us ordered our own sushi roll, and we each got it at different times; about 5 minutes after. That made us so hungry as others got to eat first. Plus side, they made an extra California roll and gave it to us for free.
This place is under new management, so hopefully they can improve on getting the food out together, faster.

I’ve been a huge fan of Island Sushi in Appleton for a long time. Before the pandemic we would go every Friday and loved everything about it!
We decided to try out De Pere this past Friday and it was disappointment, after disappointment. There was only one bartender in a relatively full bar. Often times sitting for 20-30 minutes before getting a drink. But that really wasn’t a huge issue.
We waited an hour to get a seat at the “boats” or conveyer as they call it. It’s not up and running yet. The Chefs made each roll custom to order. HOWEVER, the 3 men working there were so slow. Everyone sitting around the conveyer kept looking at each other trying to figure out what was going on. It would be 45 minutes in between rolls and the chefs kept walking into the kitchen. At one point the chef with the bandana left the area for 35 minutes and left the other two chefs with a full set of guests. I could tell 2 of the chefs didn’t like the other, because they kept complaining openly about him....
Awful experience. Even a lady in the bathroom joked, wow this was real treat, not.
Will not be returning or recommending.

I have been to Island Sushi several times and until last night, I've always enjoyed the food and the restaurant. Last night, Valentine's Day, was an entirely different story.
Please know I'm coming into this with the perspective of someone who has worked in customer service for 17 years, so I do have empathy for employees who work the front lines. My experience last night probably had more to do with how the restaurant is managed and operated than the staff who had the misfortune of working.
I arrived around 5:15 with the expectation that we would probably have to wait. It was dinner time on a Friday and it was Valentine's Day. My family was on their way to meet me, so I was happy to put my name down for a table and wait at the bar. There was no one at the host station and a couple who were also waiting in front of me. After a few minutes, an obviously brand new and very flustered employee showed up and helped the couple in front of me, and then she disappeared for another five minutes or so. When she finaly came back, I let her know I needed a table for three, but I had no preference on where she sat us. She said she could have a table upstairs ready as soon as she could get one set, so I put my name down and sat at the bar with the understanding that it would probably be a couple of minutes. I did think it was weird that there were lots of people at the packed bar who were also waiting to be seated and I didn't see a single waiter working the tables by the bar, but I figured the folks at the bar were waiting for the boats and the waiter could have been busy upstairs.
The one bartender was very friendly and helpful, but he was swamped and had a hard time keeping up with the people who were already at the bar and the many more people who kept coming in waiting to be seated.
The hostess was gone for several minutes. When she came back, she was very upset about something. There were other people who agreed that she seemed very new and was really unprepared to work such a busy night. Another employee, who seemed to be helping wait tables while also helping in the kitchen and with bartending, scooted her into the kitchen and came back on her own.
My family showed up at about 20 minutes to 6 and stood with me at the bar. The bartender checked in with us and apologized for the wait, but aside from the first hostess, he was the only employee who seemed to be speaking with anyone who showed up since the time I arrived. The one waitress (the one who helped the hostess) was busy working one table. I'm not upset with her- every table downstairs was full and they needed to be helped too. She was just definitely deep in the weeds with no help in sight. Despite the chaos, she and the bartender seemed to be in good spirits (as good as could have been expected) and tried their best to do as much as they could with the tools they were given.
Finally, at about 5:50, I flagged the bartender down and asked him to take our names off the list. We had somewhere to be at 7 and it seemed like even if we could have gotten a table, there was no way we would have been served in a timely manner.
I'm not sure what ended up happening last night and I don't claim to have all the solutions, but there was obviously an issue with staffing that should have been addressed weeks prior. There was no mystery that Valentine's Day was coming up on a Friday and for Island Sushi to let their employees struggle like they did was really irresponsible. The poor hostess couldn't have been on the job for very long at all and she had zero help and was woefully underprepared for such a crazy night. My husband and I both were looking forward to a good sushi dinner, but there are other sushi places in Green Bay we can visit, and they seem to treat their employees with respect.
I'm giving them two stars for the three employees we saw working as hard as they could for minimal reward.

EDITED TO ADD: GO TO THE NEW ONE ON HERITAGE ROAD. SO SO SO MUCH BETTER
Original Review:
The last several times we've been seated at the boats they've taken forever to put out new rolls. The last time the chefs were stockpiling rolls, just letting them sit out for almost 45 minutes before putting them out. By the time they were put out to be eaten, they were warm and gross. In the meantime we were sitting there just hungry and waiting.
It might be beneficial to put the food out right away and get your customers fed so you get higher turnaround. Not to mention probably better food safety practice. You'll get more customers fed (which means more $$) and more people will walk away happy.

Waited 1 hour to be seated only to find out the seating area was empty so there was no reason for us to wait an hour to sit... because we were also told there was an hour wait to sit at the turn table area which again had 4 people at it ... then we ordered our choices and an hour later still no food. 2 hours is a long wait for a place that had no customers

Disappointed:/ After waiting 45 minutes for a table we were seated by a friendly waitress. We placed our order for 4 half rolls to start by recommendation because it would be faster and we would be able to try more. There were probably 3-4 more tables in the room with us and in a 45 minute period only 2 rolls of sushi were served to any of the people seated. As a table we decided to go somewhere else because we had been there for about 2 hours at that point without any food. When reading other reviews and observing tonight, it seems that they are severely understaffed.

Seated and ordered all you can eat sushi, waited 2.5 hours and only received 1 round of sushi. Kudos to the host for doing the job of 4 people (hosting, bussing tables, taking orders, bartending) but the service was inadequate due to understaffing. Used to love this place but unfortunately we will not be back.

They switched owners recently, and it's not as good as it was. This last time, we went for the all you can eat boats, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was a half hour after being seated until I had a bite to eat. Worse still, the waitress asks, "How we doing? Ready to get going?" Lady are you that clueless to not notice I haven't even eaten anything yet before trying to shoo me out the door? The boats were not getting filled with food, and the ordered rolls weren't as good as before. Apparently the entire old staff quit when the new owners took over, so it's obvious there was something they disliked about them.

Being honest I used to love Island but it seems like everytime I visit the service gets worse and worse. Do not show up when that open at 1130a if you plan to eat before noon. The boats are never ready or open at 1130a when the restaurant itself opens but usually ready around noon. If you choose to sit at the tables be prepared to up to 10mins per half roll, and I'm typing this as I'm waiting for my next roll and we're coming up on the 7min mark. The bar is out of key ingredients and can't make anything with ginger beer (moscow mules) or anything with lime. I'm disappointed in Island ever since they got new managment and probably won't be back.

The absolute worst experience I have had at a restaurant in a long time. It took forever to be greeted when we got there, and each person that came in after us also waited a long time. I was extremely disappointed. We got the all you can eat sushi. We got 5 out of 6 rolls we were actually able to order and we were there from 6-830!! We had to ask multiple times for the paper to order more. All that was done was they took off one Premium roll so $3 and $5 which we had a couple for $5 off already. The waitress was nice but extremely forgetful, there were 4 other tables and things were brought out wrong to each table over and over by multiple people which should not happen at all but especially when there are only 4 tables! A table next to us ended up walking out without paying... wanted to do the same! We were waiting 30+ minutes for one of the rolls we ordered and I ended up just telling them to forget it we needed to go. I love sushi and was extremely excited to finally come here because I have wanted to for a long time, it is too bad that we finally go and it was the worst experience I think we could have had. If I could give 0 stars I would.
We left after spending over $50 to have to go somewhere else to get more food. I hope others read the reviews before coming like we should have.

They're in a state of change - newer staff that is working hard to make it into what it once was or something better. Our server communicated so well that it was almost too much! The food took a little longer than we might have preferred, but the kitchen sent us free appetizers while we waited and the rolls were absolutely spot-on when they came out. A shaky beginning became a positive experience because of the way the staff handled it. We'll be back for sure!

Island Sushi was terrible. Obviously didn't plan at all for a busy Valentine's Day. We had a reservation for 5 and the hostess had no idea. No list of reservations and just stood there. Then she said we could have a table that was waiting to be wiped off. The ONE waitress downstairs walked past it numerous times, doing nothing. Finally it got wiped off and the hostess had no idea who she promised the table to, so she almost gave it to someone else. We had to remind her it was our table. After sitting down, the EXTREMELY SLOW waitress had to be flagged down by us to take our order. This chick had no sense of urgency whatsoever. We had been there almost an hour at that point. Everyone around us was complaining and several couples were leaving. Finally a table next to us, that had been there well over an hour got ONE ROLL brought to the table. Then, we see the hostess start having a breakdown and started bawling right there in front of everyone. The only waitress downstairs walks her into the back and now there's no one around. One table after another was leaving, so we left too. We will never go back and I've heard from so many people now that they will also never go back as they all had experiences like ours.

I don't know where to start for this review. I usually don't write negative reviews but the experience I had tonight was terrible! I made reservations through their facebook for 8:15 pm. My party arrived at 8pm and waited at the door for 10 minutes before a single employee talked to us. When talking to a host she said that management did not notify her that reservations we're taken previously. Additionally when I asked about the Valentine's day special she had no idea what I was talking about. We then were told to sit at the bar. We waited there for 30 minutes waiting for a table promised within 10 minutes of us sitting down. It was obvious the employees were stressed and extremely understaffed. The employee that we spoke to apologized profusely for the problem. As we sat the bar a group after us were seated within 5-10 minutes. We then sat for an additional 10 minutes, just as the bartender pointed out we needed seats we told him we were going to leave. I am extremely disappointed in the way management treated the employees. The lack of communication is not the fault of the staff and they should not be held responsible for this terrible experience. The fault should be on the management because of the lack of communication with their own employees as well as taking reservations without notifying them. This is very unprofessional and until there is a change in management I will be taking my business to the Island Sushi on Heritage road which is a seperate chain.

I kept looking at the email. 1 hr, 1hr 10 min, 1hr 25 min...Eventually was delivered 2 hours later. I know it wasn't slow with Eatstreet, they were great. Food wasn't nearly as good as prior times. Krispy crab was soft and mushy.Won't be eating there again!

Honestly the service here is absolutely terrible. It was a Monday night with three people in there and still took an hour and a half to get TWO rolls. The rolls were decent but we drowned in sauce. Between the service and the price you’d be way better off going to an actual sushi joint. NEVER AGAIN!

This use to be my husband and my favorite date spot. However, it’s gone down hill, badly. The last time we were there, the servers were arguing with each other, they changed the sushi rolls to where you couldn’t even fit them in your mouth. The atmosphere was awkward and it was just uncomfortable to witness the tension.

My friend and I got there around 3:40pm. They said that it would take about 10-15 minutes for a table to be ready for the unlimited sushi option, and we agreed that was fine. So, we went up to the bar and told the bartender we just wanted water. I got my water, but my friend didn't. About 20-25 minutes later she asked if we wanted anything else to drink and my friend finally got a glass of water that time. A couple minutes later another patron who had been waiting asked what was taking so long, as there was no one in the place except for him and his wife and son, and myself and my friend. The bartender looked really annoyed and said they had to clean up from the lunch crowd (mind you, it was just after 4pm at this point). Shortly after this, three men went behind the bar and got themselves a drink and proceeded to stand in a circle laughing and talking amongst themselves and the bartender. At this point we had been waiting over 40 minutes, and decided to leave along with the other people who had been waiting.

We used to love this place. Always the same employees, all working hard. Went a few weeks ago, and will never return. All new faces, no one knew what they were doing. Got the boats, now it’s one piece of sushi per plate, was always 2 before. There was only half the seats full for boats yet we sat for 10 minutes with one boat containing one piece of sushi. I will not be surprised when this place closes permanently.

Honestly was very disappointing. Bartender was the only pleasant person/experience for my 2nd time going. Boats/upstairs was unsatisfying for the price. Host was rude to his employees.

My son and I went here recently and it was a disappointing visit overall. Getting a table and the service has always been slow, but the food has always been good. Not the case this time around. We ordered a volcano when we first got there and the waitress told us they were working on it downstairs. 45 minutes later she told us that they didn't have any spicy tuna so it couldn't be made. The boats were completely empty when we first got there and they were eventually filled with the same boring roll the entire two hours we were there. One of the sushi chefs was very skilled and was able to make some very tasty rolls, but the other one, who is the one that was filling the boats, he was either very new at his job or just not good at it because the rolls were very poorly put together, rice falling off, seaweed sticking out and not one of them were circular. Beyond the mediocre sushi, and poor service, the bathroom upstairs was very dirty. This place seems to have really gone down hill lately. No where near the place it was when it first opened up.

Go to the Appleton location instead! This was rough.. specifically the wait staff. Sushi, pretty darn good honestly, except an abundance of very, very plain veggie roles on the boats. On arrival, about 1pm on a Saturday, it was pretty dead with no one at the hostess booth. After flagging someone down, we were told it'd be a half an hour wait for the boats. No problem, we sat at the bar for some drinks and appetizers (which are half off when you do the all you can eat). I don't mean to judge a book by its cover, but it was evident the woman bartender was either drunk or on drugs. She wasn't very attnetive and forgot 2 of our 3 drinks and needed us to tell her the order 3 more times (while sitting there, she opened beers for the guys next to us and never gave them to him and a person's to go order was never put in or made after she waited 20mins). Our 2 appetizers were completely forgotten which they did put on the house which was very nice. Crab Rangoon was burnt and the edamame, which we didn't get until about 30 mins later, had a pound of salt dumped on the top it seemed. To use the restrooms, you have to pass the open kitchen, and it was pretty gross. After 40 mins, we were taken upstairs where we were surprised to see only one other couple so no clue why the wait was so long. My two lunch partners had never been and nothing was explained to us. The sushi chef behind the boats was very nice and helpful. But roles took a looong time and boats were always 60% empty (and ones that were full were only veggies). The woman who plated us/cashed us out, seemed to be the owner, kept loudly complaining about the kitchen staff and upstairs seemed to constantly be out of ingredients. When we finally got the bill, mind you about $60 for 3 people for very subpar service, we were up charged $3 for getting deep fried roles which none of us ordered. When I brought it up to the cashier, both she and the sushi chef who was NOT serving us argued with me that we did order that. After about 5 mins, they realized we indeed hadn't and it was the party next to us who had. Then she proceeded to not apologize and give us $3 back in cash. Who does that???

Went there the other night. I was excited because I love this place and it’s been a while. Got there waited 45 minutes for a seat by the boats, no big deal cuz it’s worth it. Got up stairs after waiting, once seated we watched 2 other couples sit down and the waitress got them drinks befor acknowledging we were there. We watched empty boats go around for 20 minutes. I ate one piece and it was cold after being seated for 25 minutes the waitress brought me a flat soda. We got up and went down stairs and waited by the hostess to figure out what they wanted to do since I ate one cold piece of sushi.
The waitress came down and confronted me and accused me of dining and dashing even though I was standing there waiting to talk to someone befor leaving.100% will never be back. And I’m disappointed because I used to love comming here.

Don't even try it! I thought the boats would be fun. They were empty the entire time. I got 3 pieces of sushi over the course of a half hour. It was horrible. I will never go back.

Used to love this place, had great service and great food. The waiter we had never brought me the appetizer I ordered, took forever to bring my friend her wine, and the rolls were drowned in sauce. We were also charged full price for the rolls rather than their date night special. Can't wait until the new one opens, hopefully that one will be up to their old standards.

Me and my friend went, were seated within a few minutes as it was not busy, there was a wait on our drinks, and when she got her first order of rolls I did not get mine, then I got mine then they brought her second one, and when she was finished I received my second, the first waitress told us there was a wait due to making our order together, then another told us there was only one roll on our order when we each ordered two.

My poor experience started as soon as we walked in. No host to greet us, stood there for a couple minutes and then the bartender came and took our name down as we asked to be seated downstairs in hopes of getting our food faster. Not to mention we went at 8pm thinking the crowd would be slower. We were then told to sit and wait at the bar. We ordered two Mojitos and they were the worst mojitos We’ve ever had. We waited at the bar for 55 min and were not talked to the entire time. No update on our table situation, not asked about another drink all while I see two open tables this whole time. I finally said something and were seated immediately. As we were seated we ordered a second round of drinks right away, which we never got. We had three different waitresses come up to our table which showed horrible staff communication(the worst I’ve ever seen!) We saw a couple walk in and sit at the bar and the bartender never said a word to them and proceeded to serve others that have drinks already. The couple watched this, shook their heads with major dissatisfaction and left. I was jealous, at this point I should have left a long time ago. Now, we get the bill and of course it’s wrong and it’s not even close. I was so over this place so I paid and got the hell out since we’ve been here close to 2 hours.
DO NOT GO AND WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!.
My worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had

New ownership. Higher prices, longer wait, smaller rolls. After nearly 5 years of being our family's favorite restaurant we will not be going back again.

This place used to be a 5. Now you arrive when it opens and they aren't ready? How is that an acceptable coarse of action? Did the clock surprise you. You walk in, ask for the boats and here sorry boats wont be ready for about an hour or so....why are you open then? Sad for the employees to be steered into the line of fire. Do better.

Excellent sushi. Flavor was bang on and the aesthetics were great. The only thing was the very very long wait time. It was an excessive wait time. I understand alot of business are going through a staffing issue currently but you should at least let customers know about the wait time so we are not sitting in wonder.

Went in last night for the second time. Sat at the bar. Was told we couldn’t order food at the bar, service was mediocre, bartender didn’t seem to know what she was doing staff seemed more interested in talking to one another than creating a good experience for customers. Went to leave but left my cell on the bar. Came back today and was told “yeah you left it right here, but we put it in the office and our manager isn’t here, come back later” went back later and was told it wasn’t there anymore to meet the manager at some office, went there waited an hour he never showed up, so at this point we had bad service, and they lost my phone.
This was our second time here and the first time was also terrible. Safe to say we definitely will not be back no matter what. Don’t waste your time, go to Umi Sushi. Great service. And, they probably won’t lose your phone if you forget it.

We arrived 2 hours before closing and were told it would be a 15 minute wait for boats. We waited at the bar for 25 minutes before we were approached for our drink order. We waited an hour and I asked a server if it would be much longer explaining our current wait time. The server went to check our status and came back stating she could seat us. They sat us at a table instead of taking us upstairs. When we asked why we wouldnt be seated upstairs, they said they didnt have room. We sat and waited for 35 minutes for our first roll to come out. It wasnt one we ordered. Reaching hour 2 of waiting and the first sight of food was not encouraging... so here we sit waiting. They've turned off the music as it is 830. There are still 4 tables downstairs of people They've now told us the rice cooker isn't working and our order will be delayed. They offered an appetizer on the house. Decent to offer of our server. She is nice and seems to be trying to accommodateus.. 20 minutes later, another roll has come out. The restuarant has been closed for 40 minutes and we've been here for over 3 hours. This has become a matter of pride and stubbornness. We came to an all you can eat sushi bar and have had 3 rolls in 3 hours. The rolls are quite good once you are served. If you haven't caught on, I'm able to write this amidst conversation and eating the rolls. Yet the episode continues... our waitress came out to let us know our last roll was being made and they are out of strawberries and wont be able to put them on our dessert roll. We had to point out that we still hadn't gotten 3 rolls. Oh wait - they can't make two of the rolls because they turned off the fryers and they are unable to accommodate making the two fried rolls we ordered. They've now been closed for an hour and we are now the last table in the restaurant waiting on food we ordered at 8. We've gotten our fourth roll!!!! Again, it's delicious. We are now averaging one roll per 45 minutes. On the plus side, they've turned music back on! On a side note, they should consider getting more comfortable chairs since their customers stay for extended periods. We now have our last two rolls it's quarter to 11 and they are in to-go boxes but we have now received all roles. Over 4 hours spent getting dinner. Needless to say, this one time regular customer wont be returning.

If you would have asked me a year ago it would have been a 5 star review. I dont know what happened, but things have gone down hill. We were quoted a 10 minute wait time, but left after 45 minutes. The staff used to be kind and geniune. Now they seem genuinely unhappy. This is the second poor experience we have had. Sadly, we probably wont be back. I miss what Island used to be.

My first time dining here today, had NO IDEA what to expect. WOW, it was really amazing. Variety, taste, and over all atmosphere were superb! Very surprised to see the sushi boat river that you sit at and pick random sushi by category,(hot, cooked, raw, and veggie) Only suggestion I have is for them to some how mark on the individual dishes what kind of roll it is so you can look on the menu and identify what kind it is and whats inside.

Placed an order online for delivery only to be charged by EatStreet and then have the order cancelled 25 minutes later and told to wait days for a refund. After calling the restaurant, I found out that they were to busy to fullfill online orders even though they are still allowing people to place them. Poor communication with your delivery groups.

Understaffed for a Saturday.. had two cooks and then turned into 1 with 13 people around the boats.. We Sat at boats and waited for a while until We got a roll and then waited again for a while until the second roll while the cook left for a while... they ran out of crab ? And things just seem so unorganized ! My sister and I used to love this place and come in all the time but this is ROUGH!! Didn’t even get our moneys worth this time!

My boyfriend and I used to love coming here, we’d enjoy drinks and sit at the boats.
The bartender was unaware how to make a drink we always got here. Then we got to the boats and there was only one chef who never checked in with us, then a second chef came and talked to staff instead of ever asking if we’d like to order rolls. There was next to nothing on the boats, and the second chef, who I have never seen before was bullying other staff. The rolls that I did eat were EXTREMELY salty and of very poor quality especially compared to rolls I’ve eaten in the past here. I used to know all the chefs and they were so friendly, and now we did not recognize any staff. Very sad experience and I do not think we will ever be back.

Used to love this place but it seems with the new ownership the service has gone drastically downhill. Went for dinner last night. Was told it was half an hour wait for boats. That turned into an hour. My friend waited to get a drink at the bar at least 15 or more minutes. Boats weren't working. We had to keep pushing them. There was no variety . sushi was the same on all the boats and looked like it had been on the boats awile. Today I wanted to do a pick up for lunch and have been calling for over an hour and no answer. Terrible service. Very disappointing.

Nice cozy place, nice staffs, sushi is not as I expected. No paper towel in rest room. Little expensive. For about $50 plus, I rather just go buy what I want next time. All you can eat sushi, you better like eating rice, otherwise not worth it. I will just go get some real meat next time. You better be a couple in love and just want to be together, because you are going to wait.

The first several times we were here I gave this place 5 stars because the food was awesome, service was quick and friendly, and just a fun place to eat at. However the last few times we went here the overall quality has gone down. Last night was the last straw, we came in just after they opened and ordered our food within 15 minutes of entering. We waited almost 2 hours for our food to get served. Now the servers and the the food were still good, however the wait is ridiculous, especially when there were only 2 other tables. Now I hope they get back to what they used to be, but until then we are sorry to not be returning.

The rice was hard, over priced, and long wait. However, sincere staffs, nice environment, cozy, and quiet. Sushi couldve been better.

So disappointed. Came in around 5 knowing that there would probably be a wait because they are always busy at this time. Asked for a table knowing they usually get seated before the boat table. Waited for an hour for someone to clean a table, there were 2 open tables downstairs, just dirty. The tables didn't get cleaned until I made a suggestion. Bartender was new, first day and made it known. Couldn't find any of the liquor needed to make my house margarita.... he looked like it was his first day mixing drinks too. Finally seated, ordered 4 rolls, took almost 45 minutes before they were brought out. The plate looked as though my 6 year old make the rolls and cut them, bonus there was a hair! Asked for a new set of rolls and took an additional 25 minutes and then they were made incorrectly and smaller than the first rolls. Left Island Sushi after a 2 and half hour wait and no sushi 🤦♀️

We have been coming to Island Sushi for several months now, we have made several trips from the UP just to go to Island sushi at least 10 trips, unfortuneately Sat. might have been our last trip. We were seated almost immediately which was nice but unfortunately our Sushi didnt arrive until about 1 hour after we ordered it. We have waited several times in the past but the Sushi has been worth it. The order we recieved only had half of the sushi we ordered on it and none of the 3 cooked Items I ordered were brought out. The cooked rolls were cold once brought out and sone of the rolls were cut into such big pieces we couldnt fit them into our mouths. The rolls lacked flavor and the breading was so thick that it was all you could taste. My wife said that all she could taste was cream cheese in her rolls. Very disappointing, might have to drive the extra half an hour to try the Island Sushi in Appleton.

I don’t even know where to start. I guess we can start right when I walked up to the door. We got there a half an hour AFTER they opened (11:30am) and the door was still locked. We made our way back to the car only to see them turn on the open lights at 12:09. We were seated right away which was nice, put in our drink order, and proceeded to wait for an all you can eat ticket to pick out our rolls. Our waitress put in our order and even though we were one of the first people to be seated, we still waited up to 45 minutes for our first plate. At no time during the visit were our drinks filled once. We place another order as soon as our first plate came out in hopes that the second plate would come out quicker or even while we were still eating our first place. I must say, the sushi was great as always, my friend and I are loyal customers, we used to come almost every other week, but the rolls were so large we could barely fit them in our mouths. It wasn’t a huge problem but once our second plate came out that’s when it really pushed us over the edge. There was a hair wrapped around one of the rolls and the fruit on the rolls were frozen. Our waitress was nice about the situation and try to make things better by giving us five free punches off of a $10 punchcard, so meaning we had to return to even get the $10 off. I also felt bad for the people around me constantly coming in and out of the door and having to wait because there was no hostess at the front door. In attention to the other issues we had, the atmosphere was really awkward. There was no music playing and people were whispering. We could clearly hear the workers talking to each other in the back. Overall my friend and I are extremely disappointed because this was one of our favorite places to go and catch up with each other so we’re sad to say we won’t be returning.

The only thing that doesnt give this place a 5 star review from me is it still seems to need to work out a few bugs in the service department. The sushi was amazing! There is a great selection and everything has an amazing fresh taste to it. No over boiled rice or frozen fishy tastes. Again great! This isn't a place you want to go and order the all you can eat if you don't have 3 hrs to wait but it is important to consider fresh sushi usually takes awhile to make. This is the perfect place to go to spend a few hours with good people. Just order a few apps and you'll be fine.

The food is fanaminall, but sadly the service was subpar, we were waiting for a table in a near empty table for 30 minutes, now I will grant I was in a 12 person group including 3 children and 1 one year old, but the near empty restaurant and no one even receiving is for 10 minutes is simply unacceptable. When we were eventually seated at 2 different tables and allowed to order it was another 5-10 minutes till we got our drinks and appetizer we were eating up stairs and all drinks needed to come from the bar downstairs. I ordered the sushi buffet and the food was as I said earlier fananminall but the wait time to get our food was 1 hour not including the wait to be seated and for drinks and appetizer, and it wasnt until another hour later that my sister finally got some food for herself.
I cannot suggest this location as it is, I can only hope that the service changes and the wait times become bearable I definitely wont be returning any time soon.

My family went to Island Sushi Monday night. My brother called prior letting them know we had a party of 11 and asked if they took reservations, they said no but the servers would be ready for us! He also asked about a gluten allergy. So we get there at 5:50pm. It took someone at least 8 mins to come over to us and take our name. Said it would be a 30-60 min wait. We said ok. We walked over to the bar and waited another 8 mins for the bartender to say hello and ask for our drink order. About 7:20pm we asked the bartender how much longer would it be since we had 5 kids with us. They said a party was just getting up and they would seat us in about 5 mins. Another 30 mins goes by (but by then we should have just walked out) and we get louder about not getting seated yet. Also finding out 2-2 tops on each side of us had been waiting for 2 1/2 hrs while other 2 tops had been getting seated behind us the whole time. They seat them, which we understood and then we made our way up stairs. Another long story short, I got menus from another table, my sister got us plates for soy sauce, and my other sister bussed our tables to make room. The sous chef apologized hearing and seeing what was going on and stated he also told the server to seat us along time ago. My brother, with the gluten allergy, asked the server, Jaimy, what are his restrictions and she said she's not in the kitchen and she's upstairs so she wasn't sure and would ask. After her not knowing for another 10 mins I got up and asked the sous chef. He knew and told us. Jaimy came back and told us what he could not have but we already found out. The Sous Chef was amazing!! But in the end we were there for 4 hrs :-/ My last surprise is looking at my checking account and only $81.05 was suppose to be taken out and $92.91 was (insert big eyes). My family lives in town but we are visiting from AZ.

I placed an online eat street app order for a scheduled pickup an hour in advance and I arrived an hour later (on time) to pick up my food. When i arrived I waited by the please wait to be seated sign for about 5 min before a waiter came to assist. I told him I have an order for pick up and he points to the bartender who is busy serving drinks and tells me to check with him. I walk over to the bar and wait another couple minutes before I am able to talk to the bartender who tells me he didn’t take my order. When i told him i placed it online an hour ago he sends me back to the waitstaff. I wait another few minutes before i am able to re check in with waitstaff who goes back to the kitchen only to return to tell me my order will be ready in another 15-20 min. I ended up waiting 35 minutes after my order was scheduled for pick up (with my wife and daughter waiting in the car) before I got my food. Finally we get home to eat only to again be disappointed. Sushi rolls about the size of a nickel and VERY poorly rolled (see photos). Spent about $30 and no one was even close to full. If you are accustomed to any kind of decent sushi do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. We will be.

Waited 2 hours and 15 mins and still no food. I called ahead and Paul said the boats were supposed to be on and they werent. I was also told it was slow and that I didnt need a reservation but I waited to be sat for an hour. The host never told us or anyone that it would be a wait at all, let alone that long. People that came in after me were served first. Service was good, very apologetic but still very poor business management.
If you cant find staff, YOU, the OWNER needs to be there to serve your customers.

I just tried this place for the first time tonight. My husband and son had to wait over an hour for our food. When they got home we were very disappointed. The rice was hard and not cooked all the way, the tuna was very fishy and seemed older, asparagus was definately old, pale in color and woody. It was a serious dissapointment. We spent over a hundred dollars for this food. The sushi at pick n save and festival foods is way better. I live close by and this could have been my favorite new place because I LOVE sushi. Unfortunately I tried it and was terribly dissapointed. They can't even make sticky rice.

Easily the worst sushi I have ever had. Despite the negative recommendations for this restaurant, I figured it was worth a try considering I drive past here on a daily basis. I waited an hour and 15 minutes as I sporatically recieved portions of my takeout order only to be disappointed when I finally made it home to eat. I am shocked a restaurant that specializes in sushi doesnt even know how to fully cook rice. And a message to the owner, dont bother offering me a free drink at the bar for another chance like you have to your other countless terrible reviews, when I just wasted $115.00. DO NOT go to this restaurant, you are better off buying McDonalds.

First time trying this place. Stopped by at 5:30 to order pickup. Service was very slow, finally got my order taken after 15 minutes, waited another 30 minutes to find out they got my order completely wrong. I ordered 2 tuna avocado rolls, an eel cucumber roll and a philly roll and they made me 2 avocado rolls and what I am guessing they think passes for an eel roll. The bartender was nice and said they would make the 2 tuna avocado rolls over again at no charge, but 20 minutes later when they finally came the quality was very bad. The rice was hard and the seaweed wraps were old. Everything tasted really stale. I won’t be returning =/

To be blunt this was one of if not the worst dining experience I've ever had I would rate this place a zero if I could. It was about a 20 minute wait for a table which wouldn't have been bad if it had been the last of the waiting we experienced that evening. When we got the table we were given 1 menu for 6 people. Their ordering system for the all you can eat sushi was needlessly complicated. Once we put our order in with our server we waited for about an hour and we still didnt have our food and we weren't the only ones. There were 3 other tables near us with people waiting for their food as well. One of the other tables told us they had been waiting for over an hour and a half. What made this all so frustrating was the complete lack of communication from the staff. Our server was nowhere in sight for most of our time there. We had walk around the restaurant and flag down employees to check on our order. One of our party members saw employees dancing near the kitchen. Two nearby tables decided to leave after not receiving their food and a few minutes later we did the same.

Let me start with saying that the food is really good, when you actually get served. Getting served though is the real challenge. We've always gone to the Appleton location, so we thought what the heck, give the the De Pere location a try. We arrived at 4:15 PM and were the second couple through the door. An hour into being there, we were finally served and then after 2-hours, we finally got our food. We won't be coming again. One of our worse dining experience.

This has always been one of our favorites when we visit Wisconsin. Sadly this trip was nowhere near as good as it has been in the past. We actually chose to leave after 40 minutes without eating. We arrived at 6pm, were told the boats would be open "about 6" and then watched over the next 40 minutes as a couple and another individual diner were eventually escorted upstairs. It seemed like the guy behind the bar was at least trying to keep up and keep things going, but he was sorely lacking help. Hope they get their act together.

Things have gone down hill sadly.
Drinks were GREAT food not so much. Some rolls were good others were not so much. Too much rice was used and WAY too much spicy sauce on rolls that shouldn't be spicy and way too much sweet sauce to the point where it was gross...
Service was or but should be more informed on what is being sold.
AND how are you a sushi place with NO TEA?

We have been to Island Sushi many times and always have enjoyed our experience. However tonight was a totally different experience. Upon arriving, there was one person at the bar. The bartender came up to us and offered us a drink menu but didn't come back for at least seven or eight minutes. She spent the entire time at the end of the bar chatting with this other patron about how she's a recovering alcoholic and how many bottles of wine she used to drink each night (which was 7). We found out afterwards that this patron is actually part of their staff. When she arrived, we asked what she had for IPA's. She said none and went to look in the cooler. My husband and I spotted three different ones from or viewpoint. (Not a very knowledgable alcoholic.) We wanted to have a drink before we went up to the boats for dinner. We had taken one sip and the manager came down and said that they were closing early due to a staff meeting and that we had to go up to the boats now. We felt very rudely rushed and awkward, seeing as we'd been there for less then ten minutes, 7/8 of which minutes were spent waiting for the bartender. When we got up there, the server introduced herself but didn't even offer water and didn't come back to check on us at all. They had rows and rows of sushi already made sitting behind the counter as the boats remained very bare. I specifically asked my husband what he thought they were for. I figured they were serving it at their precious meeting that we were so rudely rushed along our experience for. Instead they put it out over 20 minutes later as the same three prices of "sushi" that was entirely made of rice kept going round. We very rarely get out for date night and felt very jipped out of a relaxing evening due to the lack of knowledge, lack of effort, and rudeness of the staff. Btw, we were out of there by 8:40, so their rudeness and rushing was entirely inappropriate. We frequent there as often as possible. The way we were treated makes us question that choice. We were tempted to complain about their many short comings, but it's just not in our nature. We love going there but sadly we will question it in the future. It was a total waste of money and our attempt at a romantic evening. No matter how much we LOVE Island Sushi, I'd need some convincing to go back anytime soon. The new management is a disgrace compared to the place that was our "go to" restaurant and I sadly think that we would rather go to Appleton than experience what we did tonight. Our one romantic night every few months was ruined.

Sushi: 5 stars
Wait Time: 50 minutes (Saturday, 5:45pm)
Female Bartender: 1 star
To preface, we visited on a Saturday night at 5:45 PM. We have visited several other times without incident. This time we had an unusually unpleasant experience.
Let me start with the good. The sushi is great, especially the variety on the boats. My favorite sushi chef was there (the tall guy with the long hair/pony). He's very kind and attentive. The Drunken Cali always tastes better when he makes them. I give him five stars.
Now on with the area for opportunity. As I said, we arrived at 5:45PM on a Saturday; we knew it would be busy. We put in our name for the boats and asked the bartender for an approximate wait time. We were told, "it's impossible to know how long people will be up there since it's all you can eat." Ok...? We've visited many times before and have never gotten this answer. In past, we've been told something. We've also given our phone number and been texted when our table was ready, but that wasn't the case tonight. But all right, so we wait. Our total wait was around 50 minutes, but this wasn't even the worst part of the experience.
The worst part of the experience was the female bartender. As now the entire first floor is seating for waiting and bar patrons, you think she would, I don't know, care? She was very short with every person she talked to, which was everyone, because she checked people in and there wasn't much else to do while waiting but have a drink. Perhaps she was stressed by the busyness as she was the only one bartending? I understand that, but she was not friendly.
Furthermore (and this was the absolute unacceptable part for me), she talked poorly about a male coworker to at least FIVE other coworkers while behind the bar. The male coworker, as we overheard, was new and still learning on a busy night. He was personable and efficient. A group came to ask if they should order drinks at the bar or at their waiting table. He told them they could have a seat and someone would be around shortly to take their drink order. The female bartender overheard him and she scolded him saying, "we don't do that", and something else I couldn't quite make out. He went and took/filled their order and kept working. In between him running for supplies or filling orders on the other side of the bar, the female bartender made fun of and pointed out his [simple] misstep to five different coworkers. Why? What was her reasoning for bashing this NEW coworker to others? What outcome was she hoping to get by scolding him and gossiping? I hope the new male bartender knows he is doing well, and I wish him the best of luck in his continued training. Perhaps he can be paired with a more kind and considerate coworker moving forward.

Boats were empty most of the night. Big dishes were great, chefs entertaining. But I would recommend and prefer the Appleton establishment.

We found this place a few years ago went on a Saturday night the wait time was 2 hrs plus so we decided to go elsewhere. Fast forward to our next few experiences we where seated served and guided thru the dining experience.
We talked about it to our friends and adult children. Saturday Sept. 14th we had decided earlier in the week to go down for dinner with our kids. We knew the wait times can be long so we arrived at the restaurant at 3:30 in the afternoon. There was no employee's at the hostess stand, bar or wait staff to be seen just a cook eating at the opposite end of the bar. When we finally got his attention 10 min later he simply pointed to sit wherever. At this point there where 2 other parties behind us. All of a sudden a bartender arrives as we where already seated and serves drinks to the parties that arrived well after us. We waited for 15 min before a slip of paper was given to us with out any explanation as to what to do and then walked away no drink order more greeting nothing. So we have been in the restaurant 30 min told to seat ourselves no drink order and a slip of paper. We fill out our sheet and place it on the edge of the table and again wait and wait and wait. I could ho on and on about it but this review and description are simply about the absolute worst service we have ever experienced and when we did get a wait staff it was one excuse after another ( I am the only one working 3 floors the other waitress left, this us our change overtime) I dont want to hear excuses I just want reasonable service. We simply won't be back.

Gave it a second chance after the new management took over... still not good!!! The sushi on the boats is bland and blah. No sauce on the pieces. It’s basically a piece of shrimp or chicken wrapped in rice.. hardly anything else in them. The rolls on the boats used to be amazing. The chefs seemed rushed and worried. The old chefs were always great and made amazing sushi!! Don’t waste your time or money!! Island used to be the best. Went downhill very quick.

Island Sushi De Pere used to be my favorite sushi place in Green Bay. Recent changes have changed my mind. The sushi boats, which was the coolest/best part, are skimpy and bare. It’s literally rice wrapped in one piece of veggie or fish; no sauce on top, no cream cheese, nothing. The price for “all-you-can-eat” also was increased with no sign or update being told it changed. For what you have to pay, it’s not worth it to spend your money here. I’ll be going to the Appleton Island Sushi from now on. Save your time and money.

Prepare for a wait if you sit at the boat counter. But worth the wait. Enjoy one of their many great specialty drinks!

Be prepared to wait over an hour if you want to get the sushi boats. Drinks are made well, but are on the more expensive side. I personally feel like the sushi at the Appleton location is better made.

Drinks were a little pricey but made well. The sushi was very good especially the spicy ones! I would definitely recommend this place as long as you are willing to wait to be seated upwards of an hour even on week night's.

We did the boats and the sushi was plain no fkavor. So we order 4 rolls and out of the 4 rolls 3 were made wrong and were gross. Also charged us the wrong price for the Wednesday night special. The rolls use to be good but after the recents have been made seems like no one seems to care. Food is worse along with the service.

Had a horrible experience with my 4 other friends that came with me. Called an hour ahead, showed up- waited 15 minutes for our reserved spots. We ended up having to move from the sushi belt to waiting for an 15-20 minutes for a chief’s table after being escorted to the waiting area AGAIN! When the host promised that 2 of the girls could sit with us who would order off the menu! During the time that the host had to talk to the chiefs to “find us room” we witnessed one of the chiefs call out the host in front of paying clients!!!! Then, when we finally were taken to our table, we could hear staff bad mouthing customers. I asked a question to the chief if I was to give him the sushi menu or the waitress because we were waiting a long time and she did not explain how to go about ordering. She stated that we can each check off three items at a time but did not show up for another 10 minutes. I tuned to the chief to ask if I gave him the list or if we should wait for the waitress. The chief’s only response was to mock my simple question and made me feel as if I was dumb for clarifying. He then began to make off hand remarks and I asked, “you are very passive aggressive tonight, aren’t you?” .... He shrugged and replied, “ well, yah.” We could see that he made the other staff workers very uncomfortable working around him and was taking far too long to send out orders. We could also hear during the 1.5 hours we sat at the table in front of THIS chief, how he was disregarding other people around him and talking about customers that were right in front of him. It was beyond unprofessional and made a horrible night for everyone who was around him. My friends and I, who ordered the unlimited, did not even get our money’s worth (as the website was never updated to the $25 unlimited instead of the $22 advertised) as THIS CHIEF kept leaving his station and was taking far too long to made orders. We were so fed up that we left still slightly hungry.

The service was excellent! Steve (our sever and the manager) was so kind and very helpful when it came to the menu. When our sushi got to our table it looked so beautiful and it was sooo yummy! 10/10 would recommend
