A handroll sushi restaurant with a cute and bright atmosphere. Either Chinese or Taiwanese owned restaurant serving handrolls, sushi, bowls, ramen, and apps deserve a second chance.

We went in with a 7 top after a phone call informing us that the table is available. We ended up splitting table and waiting for +15 minutes.

Our table ordered 5 signature handroll set and a chicken karaage. Fish wasn’t smelly and delicious by itself. However, the sauce was an overkill for me. After awhile, it felt heavy, greasy, and disgusting. Too saucy.

Chicken Karaage isn’t what it was suppose to be. It was a Taiwanaese popcorn chicken served with spicy mayo. It’s good, but I felt deceived.

We were later moved to the table next to our other group. They surcharged us 18% when we ordered and paid competely separately into 2 tables.

As a person working in the same industry for 8 years, this was not a satisfying experience or service. I would give this place a try again but simply disappointing.

I got the 5 signature Handroll set and would advise not getting sushi here as a whole. Heavily over sauced and not fresh fish leads to kinda a tragic experience. I would say it’s a semi decent ramen spot and the spicy red ramen does pack a punch though the pork pieces were tough and lack luster.

Seek out other hand roll spots please.

Deeeelicious!! Big pieces of fresh and tasty sashimi. 😋 Husband loved his wagyu ramen (I thought it was tasty too) but personally I prefer lighter soup base. It was too heavy for me. Server was very kind too. Would definitely come back!

I ordered in so I cannot speak to the in-house experience, but it was delicious. At first I was thrown by the packaging and presentation of the temaki hand rolls, but it turns out to be genius bc the seaweed wrapping doesn’t get soggy. They also sent the tempura with the box slightly ventilated so the food wasn’t trapped by steam thus also no sogginess. Yes!

Took a friend here for some sushi, not realizing it was actually a temaki place. Fun experience -- think sushi in a tiny seaweed taco -- but a bit pricey for the serving size (moreso than sushi normally is imo). It's not the best sushi I've ever had but it wasn't bad either. The place is cute, and the desserts looked nice.

I will give props to the wait staff for being able to customize things. I was able to remove avocado from a set without any trouble.

The restaurant has a strong smokey smell which is really odd for a sushi restaurant. There were flies flying around our table. The temaki rolls are very sauce heavy. The plastics seems very wasteful and environmental unfriendly

Little sushi spot in Eastlake. Stopped by here for dinner after paddle boarding in SLU on Sunday. The restaurant is a quaint place with both street and garage parking. I was able to make a reservation for 4 people only an hour in advance. We were all very satisfied with the quality of food, prices, and portion sizes. I wish I had known of this place when I lived in Capitol Hill as I would become a regular. After prawn ramen, one salmon temaki, and tip, the total came to $35. I’ll be back to try their Karaage, agedashi tofu, and other temaki rolls soon!

As you can see from the empty plates this place is amazing. It’s probably the best hand roll place in Seattle and recently they started serving ramen and I think their tonkatsu ramen is one of the best in Seattle too (their chashu is the best hands down in Seattle)! As of July 2024, their signature 5 temaki set was $30. We ordered the signature temaki set, vegetable tempura, tonkatsu ramen and one extra soft shell crab temaki

Made a reservation for a table of 8 a few hours before opening on a Friday night. Was seated 15-20 mins after our reservation, which was ok. One of the best chirashi bowls I’ve had in Seattle. The sashimi tasted so fresh, and rich in flavor even without soy sauce to compliment it. You also just feel a little fancier on the inside when it’s topped with uni, you know?

Side note: handle the liquid containers for takeout with care as the lids are not secure. My miso soup and tempura dipping sauce only made it partially home.

The sushi is just actually ok. Portions are pretty generous for the temakis. Chirashi bowl was nicely portioned too. Karaage was a bit under. It’s more like Taiwanese popcorn chicken than traditionally Japanese karaage. I think as they are Chinese owned, they made the karage the Chinese way.

My sister and I went on a double date with our significant others, and the food here is incredible! We made reservations but arrived early, and they were able to seat us right away.

The 4 of us ordered 4 appetizers to share and each had a 5-piece temaki set. We ended up ordering the perfect amount of food and just finished everything! We loved the spicy chips! My favorite hand rolls were 1) blue fin tuna poke with crispy shallots and avocado and 2) salmon avocado (no wasabi sesame). The blue fin tuna poke was perfectly seasoned and the salmon was so incredibly fresh and buttery soft!

My sister and I also each ordered a specialty temaki - she had the toro and I had the scallop and truffle. We were a little disappointed by our selection of these 2 specialty temaki. We wouldn't order these rolls again and instead would opt to try other temaki.

Overall we look forward to returning and trying more of the menu!

Also, bonus: there's a parking lot right next to the restaurant and parking is free after 6pm and all day on the weekends!

We weren't sure how this was going to be. Saw a lot of people posting about it and decided to try. Reservations were fairly easy to get online. We got a few apps and a set of hand rolls. Fish was fresh and the rolls had a good amount in them. Tempura was light and not too oily. Karaage was a bit sweeter that it should be but was still good. Parking in the garage was free at the time we went but we didn't know so parked on the street about a block up.

Got reservations for a Sunday afternoon after wanting to try this place for a while. We ordered the signature set, toro handroll, uni handroll, and the omakase set. Quality wise, everything was very good. Sushi rice was not mushy as some other reviews had mentioned and the fish tasted fresh. Nori plastic was sometimes difficult to remove but didn't hinder the experience. We spent quite a bit of money and left wanting more as it was not filling for the price. Overall, the service and quality of food was good but not worth the price you pay. Glad we tried it once but that's about it.

We always order the temaki when we eat here, though they have a few other dishes as well. Favorite temaki flavors include the scallop truffle, snow crab shrimp tempura, and blue fin tuna. The yam and mango was really tasty too. We love everything we’ve tried. I’m usually full from 5 temaki and a shared karaage. Husband eats 7-8 temaki. The space isn’t huge and reservations are recommended. Street parking has always been easy for us.

service was decent but it seems like theyre selling you the food with lip service rather than letting the sushi speak for itself. way too expensive for what is essentially gold flakes sprinkled on top to justify the price point. their signature temaki, not sure i understand why the plastic is kept on. the idea of cheap plastic touching raw fish doesnt exactly exude quality, and having to peel the plastic away yourself makes for a messy experience

A must visit when in Seattle. The temaki flavors and textures are well thought out. We ordered the Signature 5 Temaki and added a few of the premiums. I loved each one and they were all unique in their flavors. One of my favorites was the Toro with Caviar. The caviar added a nice subtle finish to the richness of the Toro. My wife particularly loved the tuna chips. The delicate texture and flavors of the tuna combined with the crunch of the deep fried seaweed chips made this dish an instant hit. We would definitely come back. Highly recommended.

Made reservations online it was a simple process arrived on time. Was greeted by our wonderful server Jack the check in was quick. We were quickly seated to our seats. We only needed a two person table we sat in the far right corner. We ordered two cups of green tea to start. Then ordered a two sushi nori salad with fresh cucumber smell. It tasted very fresh. Then we ordered salmon avocado signature which also tasted great. We also ordered grilled eel and avocado, can never go wrong with grilled eel at a sushi restaurant. Lastly we ordered the omakase which was excellent for nigiri sushi. I thought the temaki set was very unique and a different eating experience. We were finished. Would definitely be a repeating customer. For a small restaurant it is very comfortable in here and it is different and unique from many other sushi restaurants in Seattle.

I'm an out-of-towner who made reservations for a sushi spot in town. There are two seating sections within this restaurant. A large section that is visible from the only window in the establishment and another smaller section with no visibility. Upon entry into the space, though there were available seats to the left (window section) we were immediately seated to the right non visible section. It felt as though we were being placed in the non visible section purposefully. It felt racist. When you look into the restaurant , from the outside, it seems to only cater to white or Asian (East and South) clientele. Not that it should matter, but we were also dressed well, more so than the other patrons. We won't be returning. As an aside, when I requested a second drink I saw some remnants in my cup. No thank you.

Sushi Experience №107

It was my first time trying Sushi Nori and it will be my last. Although the sushi is fresh, the prices are so high for the amount they give. As a sushi enthusiast, I have tried many sushi places and sushi nori in my opinion isn’t one of my favorites. The signature hand roll set wasn’t very tasty. It was different. The flavors of fish were lacking. One of the rolls had salmon and avocado. The avocado overpowered the salmon so you couldn’t even taste the salmon at all. The other hand rolls were the same concept, the toppings overpowered the fish. The chirashi bowl was good but I’ve had better elsewhere. The spicy tuna chips were delicious since you could really taste the tuna. But for 5 small pieces for $12? A little bit too pricey. I understand quality over quantity but I’ve had better quality and quantity elsewhere. Definitely worth a try though if you’re curious, the plates are aesthetically pleasing.

The restaurant itself is very small. We parked on the street as it says there’s garage parking but when you go in it, it says reserved for other shops. There was no host so when we walked in, the chefs just stared at us like we were supposed to know where we were going. It was awkward for a minute. Our server was sick which wasn’t very pleasant. He was coughing and sneezing. He also seemed disoriented, mumbling over words. Maybe he was tired, i’m not sure.

Overall, the pics turned out great. It was worth a try because now I won’t be curious as to if this place is good or not.

Wow, this IS the neighborhood spot for sushi.... If you live in the Eastlake neighborhood they specialize in Temake handrolls!!! The fish cuts were super fresh and high quality. The tuna was the only one I would say was not the best, but that is not a reason to avoid this spot. We had two handrolls, the uni with wasabi root and the tuna belly with caviar.... Omg, so good. The nori comes with this plastic wrap you pull off before you bite the handrolls which keeps the nori super crisp. NICE..... Finally the chirashi bowl was amazing. Whole shrimp and the albacore are the standouts.... Don't forget for get to try some sake and your day will be perfect.

I had such high hopes for this place based on all the instagram videos, but I was so let down. We got the hand rolls (both premium and regular) and the omakase. For the price of the sushi it was not that great. You can get similar grade sushi at kura revolving sushi for a fraction of the price. They try to make it seem higher end with truffles and caviar etc but honestly those ones were probably my least favorite out of all the ones we ordered. The staff was kind of friendly but not very attentive. I would say overall you can get better sushi and hand rolls at other sushi restaurants for a lot cheaper.

The rice was seasoned perfectly, the nori was shateringly crisp, and the fish well paired with the premium topings. I wish the toro had been diced instead of finely minced but it held the caviar well and was still delicious. Looking forward to another visit in the future.

Good sashimi dishes that are well presented. Reasonable prices and cozy interior.

I can't say I enjoyed my first experience. I came after having dinner nearby for desert and to check out the interior. The décor of the restaurant leaves plenty to be desired as it actually seemed kinda drabby with a fast casual atmosphere. I ordered the mango crepe because it was listed as $5.5 on the outside window, but it was actually a little over $8 without a tip. I don't appreciate the deception and am sad to have been let down at a restaurant I hope to visit in the near future. Worse yet, the crepe was fine.

My bf and I were visiting a good friend and her boyfriend in the Seattle area. I wanted sushi and my friend suggested Sushi Nori. Neither of them have been there but she wanted to try it. Our initial reservation was at 12pm but because my bf and I were lagging, they were able to accommodate a change to 1pm.

I got the chirashi bowl and my bf got the temaki set. My friend got the premium temaki set and her bf built his own temaki set.

The fish was very fresh and the rice to fish ratio was just perfect. Even though the temaki set was only 5, it was very filling and I took a few bites from his and it was packed with so much flavor. You can tell the fish was of high quality.

Small place and very casual. Street parking was easy on a Saturday afternoon of Memorial weekend.

Wow one of the best temaki places I’ve been to. So flavorful and I love the concept of sliding the temaki out of the plastic. The crepe cake is a great option for dessert. Good service, I’d come back!

Came withba reservation, ordered the spicy tuna nori chips appetizer, and the omakase (chef's choice menu). Prepare to be adventurous, and try some new things if you order the omakase! The food was excellent and there was a nice but not overwhelming selection of sake to accompany it. I wish I'd ordered the hand rolls.

This exceeded my expectations. I’d say service and vibes speaking it very much feels like a new restaurant. For better and for worse.

But the portions and quality of the fish in the temakis were both solid for the price point IMO.

If the pictures look good to you, you’ll like it. It’s as good as it looks. No catch.

I will be returning and I would recommend going here.

I’ve tried almost every sushi/ omakase restaurant around this area, and sushi nori is on the top 3 of my list. Their sushi quality is excellent, everything tasted very fresh and delicious. Can’t wait to visit this place again!

Had a reservation and was seated quickly. Ordered the signature set and chicken karaage. Came out decently quick and tasted created. The ratio with the topping to rice could be a little better but was still great tasting.

Service was not great but sushi was pretty good.

After 6PM, you can park in the garage next to the building for free. Since businesses are closed after 6, any parking spot is open.

We were sat at our table and it took about 20mins to get water and our orders taken. It felt very rushed and the server was not very attentive.

Food:
- Signature #1: Blue Fin Tuna Poke, Crispy Shallots (2/5): Overall, flavor was lacking and the tuna was warm. The crispy shallots added a nice texture but no flavor, the tuna did have a nice melty texture
- Signature #2: Salmon, Avocado, Wasabi Sesame (2/5): Overall, flavor was lacking and the salmon was warm. The wasabi sesame did nothing to add flavor, but the Salmon did have a nice melty texture
- Signature #3: Tempura Shrimp, cheese, Avocado (4/5): this was delicious, a nice simple sushi option for those who don’t like raw fish
- Signature #5. Spicy Hamachi, cucumber, Rice Cracker (4/5): if it wasn’t a bit warm this would have been one of the best things we ate. The hamachi, similar to the spicy tuna, had a nice spicy flavor. The rice crackers added a nice crunchy texture to each bite
- Classic #5: Grilled Eel, Avocado, eel sauce (4/5): eel was crispy and warm and the eel sauce had a nice flavor.
- Vegetable #2: Cream Cheese, Avocado, Fried Yam (2/5): The fried yam was thin strips on top. The main substance of this roll was the avocado, the yam only added texture since it was very thin
- Vegetable #3: Fried Tofu, Crispy Shallots, Sweet chili (3/5): Nice texture but the flavor was a bit lacking
- Chicken Karage (4/5): Typical Chicken Karage wasn’t anything to special about it, but it wasn’t horrible either. Basic good food
- Spicy Tuna Chips (5/5): Best thing on this menu. This was packed with lots of flavor and texture. The spicy tuna was surprisingly a little spicy

Sushi nori was definitely cute inside. Went here cuz of all the hype. Make sure you have a reservation. Even then we did have to wait a bit to be seated. There isn’t a lot of waiting room inside so you might end up waiting in the cold or rain. Appetizers weren’t worth it in my opinion but the sushi was definitely of quality. The wasabi sushi and the truffle one were really good!

😘This store has just opened recently, but I have been waiting for it to open before it opened. I am looking forward to it, because I am too busy at work and I have no time to taste the food. I finally came today. The waiter is very enthusiastic. I am very happy. 😋Happy and excited ❤️ I like the environment here. White is my favorite style. I will recommend my friends to come with me next time. I enjoy the food very much. It is very fresh and it is really a perfect day😍

Servers were super nice but service was a little slow.
Food (and even the store name) reminded me of Nami Nori in NYC, but not as good. Still, the chirashi bowl was visually pleasing and my friend enjoyed her temaki. Salmon carpaccio was the highlight of our meal.
Was slightly pricey for what you're getting but was overall an okay experience

Sushi Experience №180

I recently visited a sushi restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Overall, I would say that the experience was quite good.

The restaurant had a nice ambiance, with clean and modern decor. The seating was comfortable, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We were seated promptly and given menus to peruse.

We started with a few appetizers, including spicy tuna chips and screaming poppers, both were tasty and well-prepared. The spicy tuna chips perfect spicy also had a nice texture, while the poppers had a crispy exterior and creamy filling.

For the main course, we ordered a variety of types of sushi. The Chirashi bowl was beautifully presented and tasted fresh and delicious. OMAKASE price was awesome, only $68 with 12pics nigiri, can you believe sea urchin and wagyu nigiri also in the plate? And they popular TEKAMI, unique shape and unconventional ingredients or flavor combinations, and could be a highlight of the meals. The fish was high-quality, and the rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. We particularly enjoyed it and finished ALL.

The only downside was that the restaurant space small, they are popular recommend booked reservation early or avoid peak dining period ,However, the quality of the food more than made up for this minor issue.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this sushi restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming.

Whoa. This place is like the California roll of our most recent surge of temaki shops. I honestly had an abominable time trying to make a simple takeout order, but can easily be won over by food. Some better than others; the fish was generally mushy, not fresh, and horribly oversaturated with sauces and garnishes. To make matters worse, a number of the temaki had a bed of smashed avocado underneath. The rice is on the sweeter, mushier side and so the eating experience almost becomes unpleasant. The blue fin tuna poke and salmon signature were hard no's for me. I second the sentiment of other reviewers - I'm not sure that the plastic covering the seaweed is necessary outside of takeout orders. It seems insubstantial in preserving the quality of the dining experience. This style might suit others, but I personally prefer Sugo and Uminori to Sushi Nori.

Arrived 7:25pm, quoted 30-40 min for a table, seated 9:08pm (1h 43m). I don't mind long wait, but restaurant needs to be upfront and more accurate in estimating time, especially so our group is not waiting in the cold "next in line" for an hour.

In general, an interesting place, it is worth visiting 1 time. There are no parking spaces, you need to look nearby on the street, you may have to wait in line to get in if you do not have a reservation. They messed up a little with the order, and they brought what we didn't order .. but after the comment they fixed it

Terrible, terrible service. Made a reservation and they gave the table away immediately—we were 5 minutes late due to the bus running late, and instead they gave the table to someone who had a reservation later than us. They didn’t even call and ask me before giving it away, or apologize for doing so—just said “sorry you have to wait” and wouldn’t say for how long. Completely unprofessional, don’t give them your business

Fresh sushi, but not a fan of the plastic wrappers. Don't understand why they just peel them off first before serving. Hospital style bright white lights at dinner time; wish they used warmer lighting at night. Pretty good service.

The experience is fun and nice!
the sushi had A LOT of rice and thick mayo type sauce. So if you like thick sauce, it’s amazing. You’ll be full after like 2 pieces because it’s so thick. I expected it to be more balanced, that’s why it’s a 4
Otherwise it’s a 5
The fish, is very fresh but the rice overpowered it
However, I did not try the sashimi, and if the fish was fresh, that is probably good.
Customer service is as amazing
You should make reservations for sure

We were honestly pretty confused at first with how it works, but yes, we learned that each small temaki costs at least $5. We got all 5 signatures for $30. We thought they tasted pretty good, and my sister really liked the uni even though it was a bit pricey for just one small piece. The wasabi pieces are great too in her opinion. (I’m not a wasabi fan so I did not try) The mango mille crepe is pretty good!

Overall, we think it wasn’t worth the money we spent. It was a little busy, and the two servers were really friendly. Service wasn’t the best though. One of them (#1) took our orders, but when we were done with our food, we waited for a while before the other server (#2) came and asked if we are ready for our check. We then told #2 we ordered for a dessert and is ready for it. He then said it wasn’t on the order but he will get it right out. We got it, and once we’re done, we asked #1 for the check. We waited, and finally #2 came and asked if we are ready for the check.. so basically, there were some wait due to miscommunication.

Anyways, great place to come to try for at least once just for the experience!

We had a great experience at Sushi Nori! For what this place is, it is 5 stars. Don’t expect it to be like Kappo Tamura, Taneda, Kashiba, Wataru etc. The flagship here is their Temaki hand rolls and that’s what we mainly stuck to. (Though the massive Chirashi bowls did look very impressive).

The place is cute and little - be sure to make a reservation as they were busy all night. I think they also must have worked through the service issues that were mentioned earlier at the time of opening because our service was fast and lovely.

We ordered the crispy tuna bites, the salmon carpaccio, we both had the premium temaki set, and we add vegetable temaki too. The appetizers were both absolutely great! Fresh and well flavored. But we were blown away by the premium temaki set and the mango/sweet potato, and cream cheese veggie temaki’s. We ordered more even after we were stuffed!

The bill was a bit of a shocker when we got it but we ordered more than usual out of desire to try as much as we could. We will definitely be back, and will likely order a more reasonable amount next time.

The sushi was okay but nothing outstanding. Service was really slow despite being a small joint already. There are many other better sushi places in Seattle that are worth checking out for way less money. $45 for an average-tasting chirashi bowl… it was overpriced and most importantly, they wrapped the seaweed in each handroll with 2 plastic wraps where you have to peel off one by one for each handroll and at the end of the night you just waste plastic wraps for minimal amount of handrolls, which is wasteful and not good for the environment. You would expect an expensive place should have better taste than this.

Simple space but very good food. We shared a couple of appetizers, i highly recommend the spicy tuna chips. It was wonderful. I ordered their signature set of 5 temaki - overall pretty good flavors. One of them was very heavy on avocado cream, and it took away from the fish that was atop it bit not a deal breaker. Everything was very tasty I'd definitely go back.
