Mashiko Japanese Restaurant
About This Sushi Bar

"Believing that food is one of the most powerful languages in not only defining cultures but also in integrating them, our predecessor opened a Japanese restaurant in 1994 that would transcend the traditional way of presenting and thinking of food from his country." In 2009 Mashiko went to serving all sustainable seafood. In 2019 three long time employee's bought the restaurant and continue with the same integrity, creativity and passion that they were immersed in under his tutelage. It is time for to review Mashiko after 15 years of enjoying great sushi and after one pandemic I am happy to say that my most recent experience dining at Mashiko was one for the history books. The Uni was amazingly fresh with that umami that it is hard to find anywhere else. The freshness and the flavors were to die for. I wish them the best and many more years of great sushi.

Oh-my! I was excited to see the brunch poster up and FINally made it last Sunday. Deeply savored the pork shank with mustard greens...mmmm. So am back again the next Saturday to try the tofu kinoko ankake (tofu, mushroom, dashi sauce stir-up). Also plans for the following Saturday with more people, so we can order both sweet and savory items to share.
---
Always divine! Great people, both creating and offering the awesome sushiness... and also fun co-Eaters at sushibar.

This place is great for sushi. All the sushi was very good and the stars were the sockeye salmon, just a little spicy scallop roll and the herring nigiri. The rolls in general were also excellent. I got the nigiri assortment which didn't need any other seasoning before eating. The herring was super good in that it had a crispy component and sashimi component to it.

The magura natto was excellent and very tasty and the chefs and staff were very nice and knowledgeable.

I will say for value this is a tad bit pricey but I'm glad I came to try out this place for high quality and sustainable sushi!

I've been meaning to write this review for a while. My partner and I were there in September to celebrate our anniversary while visiting from out of state.

We had never had an omakase experience and were excited. We opted for the Sushi-Ya option with sake pairings. To put it simply, this was the best dinner either of us has ever had.

Our favorite dish included sake-poached oysters. It tasted so incredibly fresh. The sake pairings were all excellent. The server explained why each one was selected, its origin, flavor profile, etc. Every single course was incredible. Mariah and her staff were friendly, informative, and knew exactly what they were doing.

10/10 I hope we make it back one day.

I have had this place on my list for years but because I live in Kitsap it's not an easy dinner option for me. I noticed they started brunch service recently so I gave it a shot and it did not disappoint. Very unique options and the dish I settled on was excellent. Tons of great options for those with food sensitivities as well. The staff is super friendly and helpful (my server even alerted me to an amazing French pastry place nearby--thank you!). And it's a very cozy, comfortable place. I can't wait to come back here eventually for dinner.

Our favorite sushi place in the world! Every time we’re in West Seattle we stop in to get the sushi-ya omakase. Nat was our server tonight and they are so graceful, fun, and an absolute treat to chat with! So knowledgeable about each dish and an expert when pairing sake as well! Definitely make a reservation if you’re thinking of stopping by!

Visited first time. Wonderful experience with the sushi, sashimi, and poke dishes. Tastes were different from everyday sushi places. We had coho instead of king salmon, and local albacore. All so yummy.. Fish melts in your mouth. It’s expensive but a great place to go and celebrate an event and try one of their many sakis too.

From Reddit, a lot of people recommended this restaurant for an omakase experience that’s cheaper than Kashiba but still just as good.

For the most part, I agree. I had the 7 course omakase meal, and with 2 appetizers, 2 courses of sushi, a veggie course, miso soup, and dessert. I left feeling pretty full and satisfied, and every dish added to the overall experience.

I was a little disappointed there was no salmon or tuna served with my omakase, but the fish I had was all high quality and very fresh.

Special shoutout to the miso crème brûlée - it’s an excellent dessert that truly is a little savory, and smoky almost.

More importantly, the cozy and friendly atmosphere was great.

Ordered the adventurous omakase, I have eaten sushi all over the world. This attempt at omakase was offensive. There was a total lack of salt across all but 1 of 9 savory courses—very one note. The price was obscenely expensive for a 2/10 flavor experience ~$600 for 2 people for the omakase and drinks. They tried to be too clever with the menu and failed. Served me a vile cooked rice dish, I felt ill after eating the cooked rice & geoduck. I couldn't finish most things. this was ROUGH.

Overall vibe - this is what a hipster thinks sushi should be, don't defile the basics.

Service was very attentive and friendly.

The atmosphere was good, clean, quiet, and intimate venue. The bathrooms were clean and tidy.

Mashiko was my favorite sushi restaurant in Seattle. We've been coming for years for family special occasions because the food is delicious and while expensive, worth it for these occasions. We went there last week for a birthday celebration and had the worst customer service I've ever experienced. To the point it pretty much ruined the $250 meal for two we purchased. Our server was awful.

She showed up to the table with a scowl and spent the entire night like this. It was as if we were putting her out when we had questions about the menu. When I asked for help with sake suggestions, she was rude. We asked for some accompanying soy sauce and she replied they don't do that because the food is already seasoned. I politely asked that we still get some, she obliged but with a huff. Across the meal there was no pleasant check ins or smiles. The energy was so bad it seriously killed the evening.

I first tried to give this feedback to the owners directly - through an instagram DM and through Tock but never got a response, so it seems maybe customer service isn't what it used to be.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Moshiko in West Seattle, and I can’t rave enough about the experience. From the moment we arrived, Steve’s exceptional service set the tone for a memorable evening. His extensive knowledge and genuine assistance in choosing and pairing items made our meal truly special.

Steve’s expertise in recommending the perfect dishes was impressive, and he ensured that each item we tried was perfectly suited to our tastes. His attentive and friendly demeanor made us feel well taken care of throughout our visit.

The sushi at Moshiko was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and expertly crafted. The small, quaint environment added to the charm of the restaurant, creating a cozy atmosphere for our dinner. We were fortunate to secure a 5:45 PM reservation on a Friday night, which allowed us to enjoy the experience without the usual wait.

Overall, our visit was fantastic, and we’re already looking forward to going back for one of their full dining experiences. A big thank you to Steve for making our evening so enjoyable. His service was top-notch, and his recommendations made the meal unforgettable. If you’re in West Seattle, Moshiko is a must-visit, and Steve is the person to ask for!

Best place for chirashi that I've had in this area. I was even asked if I didn't like anything in particular, which usually doesn't happen. I usually have to request to customize. Staff was really nice and services was excellent. One of the few places (not an appointment only omakase restaurant) that uses fresh wasabi root.

I ordered omakase of $175. To be honest, not my style. Therefore:

Food: 1 star
Service: 2 stars, since I need to wait for 15 minutes to get next course. I don’t really enjoy it. Plus, 20% service fee.

Atmosphere: 1 star for very loud and noisy environment, not “omakase” at all.

Side note: there will be 3% recharge fee if you pay by credit card, and the service will not tell you until you ask.

If you want something similar to Kashiba or Taneda, this is not what you want.

I am not sure how this place is considered top rated. None of our three rolls we ordered had any flavor (NW temptation, Akuma, Salmon Katsu). The seasonal greens in the Salmon Katsu was iceburg lettuce??? Each roll fell apart because they were so loosely wrapped. Wasabi was grey. Our server told the sushi chef that the first roll was "just ok", to which she audibly scoffed at. We won't be back.

We came as a group of 5 friends for a birthday celebration, and it was a good time. We had a comfortable seating for the group. We had to reserve ahead of time for the seats.

We all ordered the Umi omakase, and they presented the food in a sharing plate format. Umi sushi was definitely a good choice for us as there were different variety of styles of cooking. They were very able to adjust based on food preferences and dietary restrictions.

The service we had was amazing, our waitress explained the different dishes, and spoke from her experience when discussing about them with us. She was considerate and knowledgeable, and added to the experience.

We particularly enjoyed the nigiris, and the desserts.

Finally made a dinner reservation and hit a night when they were reportedly understaffed in the kitchen. This does not explain the neglect with our service and bad vibes staff. They were out of my first two selections, then we waited an unreasonable amount of time for our food, and were not served together. Left hungry. The food was super yummy but not worth this experience.

Came here for the omakase and it was indeed phenomenal in terms of food quality. To really put this on the level of a $300 dinner though, I would need to see more interaction from the chef, more explanation to the items, and overall more in terms of value. We did the second highest tier, at $115+ per a person with no sake pairing; I really think we could've gotten a more personalized experience at that price point.

Overall this is a great spot, but I think if I returned I would order the items on my own and leave the omakase to the higher end establishments.

We did the Taiken-Suru omakase which is 12 courses and for “adventurous eaters.” Highly recommend if you are into omakase experiences. It took a little over 3 hours and included plenty of creative and delicious raw dishes and sushi, ending with some hot dishes and two perfect desserts. I typically order something additional when I do omakase but I was perfectly satisfied at the end of this experience! My husband was a little full but he’s not a pro eater like I am 🙂. We also tried a few different chilled sakes, which were all delicious. Our waiter was great about explaining each dish and everyone who worked there was super knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the food and drink. Their focus on sustainability makes you feel good about eating there and I didn’t feel that narrowed the selection down or limited the offerings in any way. Looking forward to coming back to try the a la carte menu!

Third, and last, bad meal at Mashiko. This used to be the paragon of sustainably-sourced fish for sushi. Sushi wh0re was on the key chain; the line was long; the reservations impossible to get; and don’t you dare order octopus. The Japanese guy drinking boxes of sake behind the counter who owned it dished attitude or sneered if you dared asked for a non-sustainable fish. Damn I miss those days. He sold it.

Now it’s some kind of over sauced sushi rolls, appetizers that mix bizarre flavors that don’t at all hearten to the subtle flavors of yore. The edamame come coated in something. The rolls are coated in sauce. The miso is $7 and tepid. Each time I go in I hope it’s going to be different. But it’s not.

I miss the old days. Bye bye Mashiko. RIP.

Edit

IF YOUR ALLERGIC TO MSGs, CONSIDER DINING ELSEWHERE. If you have any other allergies, please talk with them first because they're incredibly accommodating and communicative.

So this is the first time we've been there for at least two years now. We still love it here, and the people who work there are as amazing as ever, but (and it pains me to say this), we won't be able to come back again.

My partner is allergic to msg and one of the people who worked in the kitchen warned us that they use msg in a lot of things. It never gave him issues before so we thought it would be okay.

It seems they changed how they cook though. The food still tasted amazing, especially the sashimi and the Tuna on Snowshoe? I think that's what it's called. But there was also so much msg in the food that couldn't be separated from everything else that my partner got a nasty migraine. And this was with them aware of his allergy and changing what they could.

This really does hurt because this was *our* place. It was one of our first dates and where I proposed to him. But I just can't put him through the migraines anymore.

- - -

Original

As amazing as ever! We had the Sushi-Ya and asked for sake to be paired with each dish. There's the option of more common dishes like tuna and salmon or more exotic dishes, and we chose a mix. They managed to have a great balance, though I don't recommend the exotic options unless you're feeling truly adventurous. Amongst seered cod and King Salmon sashimi, we had shrimp heads that had the exoskeleton removed (incredibly tasty) and Firefly Shrimp sushi (also delicious, pictured below towards the top with the seared cod towards the bottom.).

If you can get Steve as your server, he's a true Sake Sommelier. Absolutely incredible pairings that complimented each dish to the utmost degree. If you're not interested in pairings for each dish, I recommend at least getting his advice on what would be good for the evening. I would blindly trust his taste in all things sake, easily.

Another amazing evening at Mashiko's. I can't recommend it enough!

After an incredibly difficult month and a half following the unexpected passing of my father, and going through this grief while in graduate school, my husband and I needed a nice evening out. We had been to Mashiko before, but it had been several years. We love Japanese food, and Mashiko in general, so we happily sprung for the sushi-ya omakase dinner with sake pairing. If I had video of the happy chair dance I did whenever Mat, our server, brought out our food, I would include it here. Everything was delicious, the sake pairings were excellent, and I was able to relax and have some quality time with my husband for the first time in a while. The restaurant is intimate but still private and not overly-loud. The food is fairly priced given the focus on sustainability. I have never had a bad experience here, but this one made me so happy I wanted to share. Eating good food can be a healing experience, and tonight it certainly was. Thank you Mat and the wonderful chefs!

Overrated. and Dirty.
I was really excited to bring my out of town guests to try Mashiko, but was greatly disappointed.

This restaurant seemed to have a fruit fly/bug problem when we dined on a Friday night in March, as we had multiple bugs in both our drinks and sushi throughout the meal. The staff didn't seem surprised that there were bugs - and also comp'd only half the sushi dish after it was sent back. Horrific to still have to pay $25 for food with buggo's.

Sushi itself was fine at best - but there are FAR better options in the Seattle area that are more fresh and authentic with better service and vibe for the same price point.

Furthermore, I sent a note on my experience to the restaurant first via their contact form on their website and then through social media as we never got a response on our experience, and never got a response. It's been 1.5 weeks. Not impressed and will not be coming back.

*EDIT to provide additional context to the response*
- We were a table of 4, not a table of 6. You must have our table confused with another.
- Plural/multiple dishes were not comp'd. You may have us confused with another table. Only 50% of of the roll dish got comp'd on our bill. and it was definitely not 90% eaten.
- And no, we were not looking to have our entire bill comp'd. That's silly. Having the roll comp'd would have been the right thing. And just being heard from the feedback sent is all my guests and I were looking for.

Had the Oiwai tasting menu, which is over $100 per person. I've been to a number of similarly priced Seattle sushi restaurants and always had a great experience, but this place was very disappointing. Almost all of the sashimi and nigiri was dry, bland, and flavorless. It honestly tasted no better than grocery store sushi. The appetizers at the start were quite good, but the soup at the end was way under-salted and had no flavor whatsoever.

So good! Everything was complex and surprising and rewarding. That comes at a price. If you want cheap sushi, go to Costco.

For extra $$ you can get real wasabi, rather than horseradish paste and food coloring. We tried it, and it IS different. A similar kick, but more flavorful and without the chemical aftertaste.

Things that I want to experience again: BLACK COD KASUZUKE, SCALLOP ON SNOWSHOES, and the wonderful miso soup.

Our server was gracious and a pro.

Next time, I might go for an Omakase experience - they offer a variety of chef's choice tasting menus.

Experienced my first omakase dinner here! I chose the Taiken-Suru for 12 courses of adventurous eating.

Highlights of the meal include sake poached oysters, trout sashimi, a whole fried ling cod collar, monkfish liver, uni served straight from the spiky shell, maitake mushroom and fish soup in a tea pot. Really every single dish was delicious and well composed.

I also really appreciated how they all came with some vegetables and that they were all done really well too. The pickled onions and radish were superb.

The chefs also took care to share the sourcing of every dish they served us and it was great to hear about all the local fish and shellfish they used.

Service was stellar and overall we were very impressed by the whole experience. Highly recommend if you are craving fresh seafood and creative dishes and well worth the drive even if you live far from west Seattle!

I've had a couple different omakase meals here and I have to say I've left a little disappointed and worse, hungry both times. I'm impressed by the quality of preparation and the service is nice. However, for the price you pay here and compared to similarly priced fine sushi restaurants, I expect a bit more. For example, the last time the nigiri was all leaner fish and we had hoped for a fattier, more flavorful cut. All that said, still a perfectly good place to take out of towners and impress them.

Enjoyable first sushi experience!

The restaurant is cozy and casual... 10 tables with a few extra seats at the bar, a mesmerizing fish tank, and bathrooms with bidets.

It's a popular spot in the heart of West Seattle junction, so highly recommend reservations. Additionally, during the online reservation system I was able to add in food allergies which the chefs made a note of and adjusted a few of our items.

I enjoyed the katsu salmon rolls and the melt-in-your-mouth nigiri. We ordered the 7 piece chef sampler, but I'd recommend just ordering a la carte to get two pieces of a few different types.

The watermelon sorbet tasted fresh, but was frozen solid and pretty icy. Edamame was ok.

Several vegetarian/vegan options available and gluten free options were noted on the menu.

Free street parking, but in a busy area.

Were my expectations too high? Was it the right decision to factor the proximity of my domicile into my restaurant selection? Would you choose to eat here knowing that there is not a single Japanese person working for this business? Is the chefs selection of nigiris meant to be the best of what they have or just what they need to get rid of? Will you make the same mistake I did? Am I being generous with my 2 star rating? Is it legal to drop the bill without service included and then add it on without permission after I’ve handed over my credit card. What tip is deserved after being made to wait for two hours during which time the restaurant was never fully sat? Do you think I’d ever go back?

Unfortunately, not as good as it once was under the former chef. We waited for almost 40 minutes for the 4th course in our chosen Omakase menu so it deflated the whole experience. What should have taken 2 hours for a dinner took 3 HOURS. The courses were much less exciting than we once experienced years ago. I will say the service was very very good. I know how tough it is to be a small business so I really hope they figure it out. Sadly, what was once our favorite sushi spot is not somewhere we are looking forward to going to anymore. Will most likely not return :(

Enjoyed the Oiwai omakase experience with friends. Every course was well plated and delicious, timed for a leisurely meal with conversation and relaxation.
The sashimi course, in particular, was my favorite because each slice of fish was paired with a pickled or preserved vegetable that gave me a new flavor experience.
The nigiri course was also extremely satisfying in terms of texture and flavor. Extra care was evident in many small details throughout the meal.
The space is older, kept clean and neat, but it is small and they share refrigerator space with the business next door. This restaurant has been in business for decades, passed from original owners to a person they trained who shares their passion for good food. They source sustainably grown ingredients.

Generally speaking I look back shamefully on the money I have spent on expensive meals. This is an amazing exception. This was such a great experience with amazing food and service. The surroundings were very comfortable, not flashy. I had a great number of things I had never had before. They were prepared especially for our particular tastes with a perfect balance of expectations along with adventure and discovery. Each course was beautifully prepared and then explained in detail. Every sushi aficionado should try this at least once. I would make this a regular event in my life if I lived nearby. It was out of this world delicious.

I normally would have taken lots of photos but chose to just stay in the moment, so I have no pictures of this amazing food to share.

I will remember this meal.

I do not normally write bad reviews, but yesterday's and today's disappointment after visiting Mashiko needs to be addressed. It was my my birthday and we made a reservation. We were charged $20 to hold the spot for 2, a little unusual, but it seemed to be worth it. I've been following Mashiko's Facebook page for a while and their food and approach fascinated me. It appeared to be a quality restaurant that cares about its customers, service and environment. The only reservation available was at 8:30 pm, which is late, but we still took it because I really wanted to eat there. When we arrived, we waited a little before we were seated. My expectation was that if I paid a fee to make a reservation, I would have been acknowledge within 5-10 minutes of my arrival. The waiter showed up, but by 8:53 and we still had no drinks and our food order was not taken. So we left, and got food next door. I reached out to the restaurant explaining what happened and asked to please refund my deposit. I received a reply from Allison (owner), that our deposit was used to cover miso soup and drinks that the server was bringing, implying we were at fault. I was told they had to "dump" them. What is most irritating is the complete absence of a desire to make this right and to hear out your customers. We were looking forward to my birthday celebration and possibly discovering a favorite new spot. Disappointing.

After 15 years as a loyal customer I was stunned that my companion and I were asked to curtail our dinner We felt kicked out. I had a community emergency and my companion arrived before me. We had reservations with deposit. Our food and server were top notch as usual The manager refused to complete our last order and explained that someone else wanted our seat. He was unfriendly from the beginning especially toward my companion bringing his service dog In years at this establishment and travels I have never been treated so poorly. When I spoke to him as we were leaving he was defensive and unaccountable. Im a small business owner. His behaviors were completely uncalled for and bad for business. I’ll go elsewhere Sad. I love the food and chefs. And wait staff

Ordered the Oiwai omakase with a sake “flight” to pair with each dish. Fun but left a lot to be desired in terms of taste. All for adventurous dishes (and a thumbs up for sustainable fishing) but just wasn’t for us. First time I ever thought the sushi rice was too vinegary. Our favorite was actually the dessert made in-house.

It was our first time here and we decided to do Omakase. Parking was paid street and lot and the space instead was small, make a reservation! It was very busy and every table was filled throughout the night.

There different levels of Omakase that you can choose from and styles vary. We went with a more traditional type of meal and opted in to be adventurous and traditional.
We got to try a lot of different types of fish, dishes, and an interesting dessert. We thought everything was fresh and made very well. The only dish I didn't enjoy much was the sake butter rice with gooey duck and mushrooms as much, I felt that the dish was a bit bland and had a very strong sake and butter flavor, which I was not a fan of. The monkfish liver, the mahi mahi, and overall the experience was good. According to our server, each experience is customized to the customers and can look different from each table. It depends on what you like, allergies, and how adventurous you want to be. The dessert was good, a fried mochi with a soy bean dusting. It is a red bean filled-chewy mochi dough with a slightly sweet peanut butter tasting coating.
Our server was fantastic and so helpful in explaining each dish and very nice. We felt that the service was a bit slower than we expected and waiting in between dishes was a bit long, but dishes were made well and care was taken to craft.
We didn't get a chef's seat, so we were seated at a table. Instead of each piece being made one at a time, we got plates of multiple pieces at a time. It would be a great experience to sit at the chef's seats if you can get one!

A great place to try fresh fish and seafoods, wonderful staff, and delicious food. I'd recommend for a date night, someone wanting to try new and adventurous dishes, and a great atmosphere.

Simply Superb!

We've been going here for 8 years, but with the West Seattle Bridge broken we hadn't visited in 2.5 years. We did the Omakase at the sushi bar and it was even better and more varied than the last time we were there. If you're an adventurous sushi eater then definitely try to sit at the bar so you can talk to your chef.

The service was amazing, as always, and it was wonderful to see familiar faces who made it through the pandemic. This isn't cheap, but it is definitely worth it.

If you like beer, you should also try their various beer options - they're great, too.

Reservations are HIGHLY recommended - you try to just show up but expect a long wait.

I really dislike giving restaurants bad reviews but… Some friends and I went to Mashiko specifically for the Omakase on my birthday. We made reservations three days prior for 8pm. We arrived at 8 and waited 30+ minutes to be seated. Once seated, our server came over and explained all of the wonderful sounding Omakase to us. But as we went to order a few minutes later, he informed us the restaurant was now completely out of sushi rice. So, needless to say, Omalase, or any roll for that matter, wasn’t available. At this point it was about 8:45 and he said the rice would not be available for another hour. So our server recommended some other dishes to eat while we were waiting an hour for rice, which were good. Finally, at around 9:30ish we were able to order sushi- not the Omekase we came for though (it was too late and we’d already ordered some food). We got some nigiri and rolls. The sushi was good and unique. Our bill came totaling almost $300. So, more than we would have payed for the Omakase. I was shocked that the restaurant manager made no attempt to right the situation or take items off our bill that we had to order while waiting for sushi rice. So in the end we payed $300 for a dinner that we really didn’t even want. This is a high end sushi restaurant and it surprises me that 1) they’d run out of sushi rice on a Friday night 2) they’d seat us 35 minutes after our reservation time with no apology or explanation and 3) they wouldn’t offer to take anything off our bill. I do want to add that our server was wonderful, recommended alternatives, and seemed to genuinely feel bad. But overall this was a pretty disappointing experience, especially considering the price of it all.

TAIKEN SURU was amazing. The octopus was the the softest and most tender pieces I've ever had.
The geoduck has changed me, I've eaten it multiple times and never really enjoyed it. Both ways it was presented today were the top 2 ways I've now had it.
Cannot comment as much on nigir as there were only 4 pieces. But the ebi head was perfectly fried and the extra salt was the exact amount needed.

Excellent! The food is so unique! Not your average typical menu. My first time there with my daughter, she had been there tons of times. The 5 stars are for the food - great rolls and exquisite sushi. Our waiter (tall slender man) was amazing! Wow! What terrific customer service! The only downside is that it's a super small place and highly sought-after so if you don't have reservations it's over an hour plus wait. Even if you call to pick up it's a very long wait. I wish the could move to a larger location! But super cute inside.

The sushi selection is creative, fresh, and tasty. Omakase portions are on the smaller side, but just the perfect amount of food to savor each course. Our server was kind and informative, but service in general was very slow.

One thing that bothered me is the big discrepancy between the quality of the food and the ambience. For how pricy the items are (and I would say that the quality of of the food matches), it should be more like a fine-dining experience. Yet, the restaurant is crowded and noisy like a casual bistro.

If you’ve ever eaten actual sushi or Japanese place/ or if ur Asian who’s lived in Asia before, don’t eat here…

I got fooled by the high stars rating, I guess those were mainly from Caucasians

The Nami Omakase definitely wasn’t worth the price, the fish wasn’t fresh, every dish tasted so bad, and just.. not at all Japanese.. how could they even called themselves a Japanese restaurant…

The price was 270 for 3 people, before tax and 20% tips.. but all we got out of the course was
- a not fresh appetizer
- some ok some bad sashimi
- some ok some bad nigiris
- very complicated and salty miso soup
- what feels like low cost dessert

I guess it’s Japanese for non-Asian and it’s my bad for expecting it to be…
But at least give us a better cost performance value for 270… we could’ve gone to a much higher end restaurant

Slightly above average sushi but far too expensive. $10.00 for 2 salmon Nigiri (after tax) + 18% fee + tip is now out of my budget. I would rather buy 1/2 a salmon for that price and cook it at home. Sorry but Sushi should NOT be that pricey. Very disappointed.
