Contemporary steak & sushi house with one-of-a-kind views in downtown Bellevue, open for weekend brunch, happy hour, & dinner.
I recently visited Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi and tried their separate plant-based menu. While the ambiance was exceptional, with stunning views from the 31st floor, the food didn’t quite live up to expectations, especially given the premium pricing.
I ordered the Jackfruit Crab Cakes, Wild Mushroom Wellington, and Roasted Cauliflower Steak. The presentation was great—each dish looked refined and artfully plated. However, the taste was underwhelming. For the price, I was hoping for more robust flavors and creativity, but the dishes lacked depth.
On the bright side, the modern, upscale atmosphere and the panoramic views are a major draw, particularly if you go before dark. The restaurant is pretty busy, so I highly recommend making a reservation.
Overall, while the ambiance and presentation were impressive, the plant-based menu didn’t quite justify the cost in terms of taste.

This was ABSOLUTELY one of THE BEST MEALS we have ever had (and we are foodies and eat at some of the best restaurants around the country). The service was exquisite, the presentation of each course was exceptional and pleasing, and of course the taste of literally everything was superb! The meal was pricey, but I promise it was WORTH EVERY PENNY...

This place sure knows what they're doing. Atmosphere was super special and over the top. If you're lucky to get a window seat with a view, take it all in. Service was amazing, ours had the best sense of humor while still feeling like you're getting the fine dining experience. Waitress recommendations did not disappoint. Food was excellent, even something as simple as bread service was SO good. Will be returning and can't wait to try more of their menu. Thanks for a great night, Ascend! Well worth it.

Truly an experience for us and one we won’t forget. Service was impeccable and food was excellent. I found the use of dry ice to cheapen the vibe at the establishment and the glassware was dated, felt like a yard sale find. We spent over $600 for two with drinks and food. Again, the experience is what we were after and they delivered. Even the puppies had their own little experience the next day.

I book my reservation with Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi 1 month in advance since I was traveling to Seattle; the day of our reservation in the morning I call the restaurant to remind them I need a window table. when we arrive with my date the host did her best not to give us the table I asked for, instead she insulted us by saying we can get free food if we don’t sit by the window and if we want window table we should come back during weekday. After few words exchange one of the waiters saw us arguing with the host, she came over give us the window table which the host was rejecting. My date and I both felt like the host was racist and she was decrementing.
Speaking about service, we order two steaks my date can only eat well done meat otherwise she will get upset stomach, after we left that night, she started having stomach pain and problems I had to get medicine for her… After reviewing the photos we took that night we saw the steak that was place in front of her was medium well and my steak was well done. I did ask the waiter when he brought the steaks to the table “is my steak medium well and hers well done” he said YES.
We will never return to this place.

The worst service I’ve ever experienced. It was unreal. I went for brunch with 4 other people. There were only 4 or 5 tables with guests. There were probably 3 wait staff for each guest. Yet multiple dishes never arrived. One guest ordered vegetarian and they brought his food with a pile of bacon on top. Then they never brought his second dish. It took 3 hours. We had countless staff walk by and see that he didn’t have food and they wouldn’t stop by or bother to ask if we needed anything. I’ve never been ignored by so many service staff. The food that did arrive was okay. The views are great. I would give zero stars for service if that were an option.

The staff was the most incredibly adapting customer service we have ever seen. We were seated next to another couple and you can see that the staff approached each table with the energy and enthusiasm that matched their style. Me and my partner were super bubbly and cracking jokes and they played along and it felt like they were our best friends! The couple next to us was a little more reserved and quiet but the staff quickly would adapt to their needs and they looked incredibly happy as well. Overall compliments to Ascend for allowing their staff to have fun while proving the most superb dining experience. Bravo!

Although the location and service were very good, the food was...disappointing. The appetizers were very visually appealing, but bland and in some cases nearly tasteless. The aged steak was a poor cut, though well prepared. Dessert was again just beautiful...but the taste just wasn't there. Overall for a $650 bill (with tip) for two people, there are far better tasting meals, albeit at a much less stunning venue, for half that price.
Adding that I emailed them 3 times as they requested, with no response.

Dining here sort of feels like being in another world. Expansive views frame a cozy lounge area that doesn’t feel packed in; the setting feels luxurious.
The service staff complement the ambiance with carefully crafted interactions designed to make you feel welcome and at ease.
The food, however, needs some work. At this price point it is competing with Michelin star restaurants and high-end omakase, but despite looking fancy it was maybe a 4/10 when compared to those places. For instance, I don’t know why you would put truffle on a perfectly good hamachi roll, it just overpowers it. Or the oyster shot, that just kind of tasted like booze. Nothing was straight up bad, but I really question the judgement of the chef to put such odd combinations together. It’s almost like everything had to have fancy flairs to justify the price, but the fundamental flavor combos weren’t done properly.
Overall if someone else is paying and you are looking for a really good ambiance to socialize, Ascend is one of the best, but if you are looking for fine dining, this is not the place.

I revisited Ascend last weekend for lunch, and it was a terrible experience—consistent with my past four visits. The only reason I returned was to use up a gift card.
The menu and the pricing is overly complicated and confusing. To make matters worse, the service was both slow and riddled with mistakes. Plastic toys in the food, and the small portions of fruit and meat attempting to pass as "fine dining" felt like a joke.
I sincerely hope I never receive another Ascend gift card again.

Horrid service who act like they’re above their customers (snide passive aggressive comments and placating customers). For the prices they’re charging for food and drinks I would expect top notch service. However after delivering sushi to the table they took 10 minutes to deliver soy sauce after having to ask twice, soy sauce... Because of light rain they close the balcony, in seattle… Drinks were okay sushi was less than standard quality in seattle but steak was good (a minimum expectation for $100+ steak).

Best experience I have had in a very long time . My husband and I went for a holiday dinner with friends. From the moment we walked in and to the hostess stand to the moment we left every single second was detailed and handled with poise and professionalism. Every thought and detail was executed to perfection . A ballet of food descriptions that were presented on my plate better then described ( I have no idea how that was possible: can you say impressed !?) . The food itself was not only a work of art but was exceptionally delicious as well. Kudos to the incredibly talented staff, from the hostess to the chef and entire orchestra of kitchen staff . The food runners, the bussers and our absolutely thoughtful and articulate server, Sebastian ! We will be back . Thank you for a beautiful experience and evening .

Review for Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi, Bellevue
Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi boasts a beautiful ambiance, offering a sophisticated setting that’s perfect for a special night out. The interior design and views are certainly its strong points, creating an inviting atmosphere that sets high expectations for the dining experience.
However, while the service was personable, it fell short of being efficient or attentive. The experience lacked the seamless flow you’d expect from a high-end establishment. For instance, we ordered sashimi and sushi, but soy sauce—a standard accompaniment—was not served until we had already consumed half of the rolls and sashimi. This oversight was surprising for a restaurant with “sushi” in its name.
Another misstep came with the nigiri sushi, which was meant to arrive alongside the appetizers. Instead, it only came after three follow-ups and long after the other appetizers were finished. Delays like this detracted from the overall dining experience.
As for the food, it was good but not remarkable. The dishes showed creativity in presentation and effort in execution, but the flavors didn’t quite deliver the “wow” factor. While enjoyable, it wasn’t the kind of meal that lingers in your memory as extraordinary.
In summary, Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi has the potential to be a top-tier establishment but is currently held back by a lack of polish in both service and food execution. The ambiance is undeniably lovely, and there’s clear effort in the presentation, but there’s room for improvement to truly justify its premium positioning and price point. For now, it’s a nice option, but not a standout in its class.

We recently tried brunch on Thanksgiving and everything was so well done, all the food options were excellent and the staff was super welcoming and attentive, making our overall experience a 10/10. We’ll always consider Ascend for our special occasions and highly recommend them to those that are curious or looking for a new place to try out.

My first time at Ascend left a mark on my heart. At the time, it was paid for by my company, which made it a lot easier 😅
But, with that mark, between the quality, service, and general ambience of the beautiful restaurant, I have been back three times on my own dime.
This place is a gem! If you're looking for the best steaks in WA, along with best desserts and service, this is your place!

Truly the most exquisite restaurant in the greater Seattle/Bellevue area.
Service 10/10 you will not be treated this well anywhere else, top tier service.
Food 10/10 every bite was unique and bursting with flavor that leaves you wanting more and more just to taste the flavor again.
Ambiance 10/10 surround by breathtaking views around every corner included the jaw dropping balcony, perfect for those skyline photos.
My husband and I are still dreaming about our experience and wonder if it is worth eating anywhere else now that we were completely spoiled and catered by the staff. All I can say is get the Truffle roll. They will know what you mean. Bread service do not skip it! Get it everytime! Your mind is surely to be blown a few times during your reservation. Have fun and you’re welcome!

Been here prior and the food was decent, but I was going to go a second time and booked the guaranteed view, but ended up cancelling nearly a week in advance to go elsewhere. This was in early in September and it’s now end of October and I never was refunded the $50 booking fee for a guaranteed view. Seems a little dishonest to charge for a view then not refund when a customer cancels in advance.

Excellent staff
Beautiful views and good atmosphere
We went for our 22nd anniversary, and they even brought us a complimentary dessert dish.
Staff was definitely 5 stars start to finish.
They are providing an experience, this isn't an in and out in 45 minutes clear the table for the next. We ordered a simple salad, one sushi, mains and they brought a complimentary dessert, and we were there approximately 2 and one half hours. A very comfortable 2.5 though.

Came for a 50th birthday. Fantastic service - really wonderful, professional but warm service team.
It was a loud space - the music was super loud in our section, the wait staff did reduce it 3 times, which is good.
Steaks were incredible - which is great. Rest of the menu - not so much. The miso black cod is honestly much better at a handful of Seattle seafood spots. It wasn’t broiled enough to bring out the miso flavor.
Roasted vegetable side was pretty tiny, and again lacking a nice char that would help bring some flavor. Mashed potatoes were solid.
All in all, wonderful service, food was expensive for what it was (much better food available in Seattle, for less). The atmosphere was generally a little all style no substance.

TLDR: Expectations blown away. Great food and service!
We're not fancy diners, let alone diners. We have a 10 month old daughter and we very rarely go out. I have a ton of food allergies that make it tough to find safe things to eat and my wife is vegan so that also complicates things. We were honestly not planning on getting anything since we were just invited to a birthday party and wanted to support our family, but after meeting our server Chris, we were thoroughly reassured. He was incredibly detailed in covering the multitude of food allergies and was in constant communication with the chef on my behalf. My wife and I both ended up ordering something. Yes, it is pretty expensive. Way more than I've ever paid barring the old space needle restaurant. I ordered the chicken breast and my wife got the avocado roll. Let me tell you what, I've never tasted anything like it. I shamelessly spent like 20 minutes scooping the au jus with a FORK when I ran out of food. Yeah, the portions could be larger... but I mean maybe this is just high society standards. In any case, for our server Chris and the chicken alone, I would come back for SURE.

My boyfriend and I came here for date night this past weekend and I'm happy to say that Ascend definitely did not disappoint!
Appetizers: For appetizers, we got the Tuna and Tobiko Sushi Tacos and the Truffle Mac & Cheese. Ascend also provides complimentary bread and this was a wonderful tasting experience! The Sushi Tacos were delicious- all of the flavors complemented one another perfectly. It was a bit messy (at least for me, my boyfriend had no issue with this LOL) but the flavor was great. My boyfriend was obsessed with the Truffle Mac & Cheese, I wasn't as crazy about it, but I still thought it was good! It's pretty rich and quite filling, so if you're ordering it I think it's best to share. The portion is also generous, especially for being listed as a side. The complimentary bread was super fun and interesting to taste! From left to right, you're given a pastry that comes with a tube that you use to poke into the enclosure and fill it with a savory/salty paste. The middle section was a crispy rice pastry with nori seasoning. The texture and flavor of the last bread was great. It included mushroom and was a little sturdier but also perfectly flaky. It came with butter and a dark sauce (can't remember the name) but I feel like it went together perfectly with this bread.
Drinks: I got the Joy Ride and my boyfriend got the Knight Rider. I was surprised that out of the two of us, my drink was a lot stronger. The Joy Ride is mixed with patron silver, grapefruit, lime, a prickly pear purée, strawberry shishito syrup, ancho reyes chile, soda, and agave syrup. It's more on the bitter side and got me drunk LOL, but yummy. The presentation of it was also cute, I loved the cup that it came in. The Knight Rider was less exciting and I felt that neither name nor the flavor fits this drink. Its appearance is an orange-y pink color, and it's more of a fruity cocktail. The Knight Rider is mixed with corazon blanco tequila, aperol, lemon, yuzu, ginger, pineapple demerara, and lime. I felt that it was a lot lighter on the alcohol too. Although the name doesn't fit the cocktail well, it still was delicious! My boyfriend also got an espresso, and it was strong and tasty.
Entrées: We were already getting full at this point, but I got the Spicy Tuna and Prosciutto Roll and my boyfriend got 5 ounces of the Kuroge Purebreed Wagyu. My roll was made with bubu arare, avocado, tomato relish, and bottarga. Also, I have to give credit where credit is due: this roll was very spicy! I'm pretty good at handling spice but this roll made my tongue tingle a bit (in the best way LOL!). If you're a spice lover, this roll definitely doesn't disappoint- not to mention how wonderful the flavor is collectively. Now, moving into the highlight of the night: the Kuroge Purebreed Wagyu. This was the BEST steak I have ever tried in my life. I've had wagyu before, and it doesn't even come close to competing with this one. The chef recommends medium rare plus for this steak, and we went with the recommendation. Literally perfection! I'll never stop boasting about how delicious it was. The outer parts of the steak are cooked a little more sturdily with a perfect amount of butter, while maintaining a tender inside. I HIGHLY recommend trying this steak if you pay a visit to Ascend.
Dessert: Dessert was the weakest part of our meal. We ordered the Pandora- a lighter dessert, with black currant mousse, hazelnut cremeux, dark chocolate cake, basil sponge cake, and chocolate meringue. We liked the fact that the dessert was light since we were already pretty full, but it was so light to the point where no flavors really jumped out at us. I was hoping that the dark chocolate cake would have a bit more depth to the flavor, but I could barely taste the chocolate. My favorite component of this the hazelnut, but other than that it was a miss for me.
Service: Service was slow at times, but mostly great! Servers were very knowledgeable and quick to answer any and all questions.
Atmosphere: Beautiful rooftop location with a great view. Interior is sexy and romantic.

I took my wife to ascend for her birthday, the staff was great, food was awesome too. We enjoy the food and atmosphere. Unfortunately when they brought the happy birthday dessert my wife was already getting sick. We had to go in a hurry. I drove her straight to the hospital. Food poising. We spend 3 hours in the emergency room doctor was saying it could have been the glass of oyster, caviar and quail egg shot. If it wasn't for the food poisoning everything could eve been excelent. Me and some friends had the pleasure of dining at Ascend for one of their birthdays and I don’t even know where to begin with how special everything was. Firstly the ambiance is amazing and thoroughly thought out to enhance the guest experience and the view simply can’t be beat. As for the service, Gallardo, Christopher, & Stephanie were so attentive and entertaining they made my friend’s birthday truly exceptional! The food is incredible as well and everything on the menu is as carefully curated as everything else we had the pleasure of experiencing that night. This review is for a birthday celebration from 2 weeks ago.
When i made the reservation i noted that it is for a friend's birthday. Our reservation was at the opening time of dinner service. Although i did not specifically request window seating, we were brought to a quieter section in the back away from the bar by the window.
Waitstaff cheerfully introduced themselves, and we really liked their energy. Very helpful with drinks and menu selection and course progression. Each course timing was paced comfortably, no long wait between dishes, nor rushed to get us out the door.
Wine and cocktail offerings aplenty. The toughest part is picking what you want. I went with Pear Pressure, and it was a tasty drink. Mu husband got the smoke infused old fashion and it was TASTY!
Bread service include interesting items such as tapioca chips and choux pastry balls with parmesan cheese injector for fun.
They offer an extensive menu with lots of tasty dishes, which makes decision very difficult. We went with Charred Octopus and Sushi Tacos (Hamachi) for appetizers, both delicious and the sushi tacos are unique.
For main course we had Scallops, Black Cod, Angus Filet, Omakase sushi, along with foraged mushroom and summer vegetables side dishes. Everything was cooked to perfection with high quality ingredients.
When we were deciding on desserts, i wanted to get the dry ice infused Skyfall for our birthday friends, but our waitstaff gently discouraged me from ordering that. So we went with Halo and Pandora instead. We were completely surprised when they brought out a Skyfall with Happy Birthday written in white chocolate along with the two other desserts we ordered! It completely made our night and made our birthday celebration a very memorable one.
The food and service at Ascend is top notch in any venue. It's beautiful view on the 31st floor in the heart of Bellevue makes everything extra special. Given the cost of food service in general these days, we feel that our dinner experience at Ascend is well worth it's value. We will return for sure.

Absolutely amazing views and premium menu. However, experience seems entirely dependent on how much you’re willing to spend and whether or not it’s a VIP experience. One time when booking through Capital One we felt like we were truly welcome and had a lovely experience and amazing dinner. The second time when we went again not through capital One, the seating was further back away from the amazing views. Service rarely checked on us, and food and beverage was subpar. My fiancé got violently ill after consuming the beef tartar (that being said, we understand that consuming these things does open one to risk, but it was previously an amazing dish). When informing the restaurant about this we were promised to be given a call back, which never happened.
That being said, this is clearly a hit or miss restaurant, and we expected more out of them for a continued high-performance experience. But unfortunately this was not the case and unlikely to return based on this.

Condescending wait staff. Food is hit or miss, mainly overpriced bistro style selections. I ordered a variety of food and the only memorable items were the chocolate pudding and how burnt the truffle fries were; steak was average. Waitress lied about the dishware for the chocolate pudding (something elaborate about the chef hand selecting the wood which then they create a bowl for—give me a break you can pick these up from a gift shop). They automatically charge a “living wage tax” for their employees in addition to the bill and tip. Overall an average restaurant with a wait staff that ruins the experience. Not helpful, full of gossip, and seats customers by initial judgment. They put a lot of work in selling the experience rather than creating it.

Service was amazing, staff really showed out. The food was underwhelming, typical steakhouse steak, presentation was cool but for the price..........I would rather not have to pay so much for presentation and more rotation of specials for food choices.

The view is out of this world. The steak dishes were good. Although the ambiance is romantic with candle lit tables and dimmed lighting, it was just too damn loud! I dont know what makes this place so loud (almost like a night club). Maybe it is the closely packed tables but it wasn’t enjoyable.

Reserved a table over two weeks before arriving. Traveled from San Diego and was excited to visit this restaurant. Not only did my part get seated in the worst part of the restaurant. We had the WORST server. Her name is Michelle, she ruined the whole experience with her attitude and her dismissive behavior. Her service was so bad I had to make sure the tip I left went straight to Aubrey, the kindly lady who made the visit worthwhile. There were two other tables who had made a reservation and was seated into the same area who complained. This needs to be taken into consideration. When someone makes a reservation they expect top notch service. Well Michelle failed to leave a good taste as her attitude made everything worse. I thank the manager who took the time to listen to my concerns as well as Aubrey. For a $400 meal Michelle made Mc Donald’s looks good. The sad part about it is, the staff and management has been made aware of her attitude before my concern was brought to their attention. Customer service should not be given in such a manner. Michelle, please get it totals you are making this business lose money due to the lack of concern for the consumer. I hope they really talked to you about your demeanor. As its UNACCEPTABLE! At this point, I would not recommend this place for the fear of someone having to be served by this woman. All other staff was AMAZING.

This was certainly a $$$$ experience.
The service is amazing. The staff go above and beyond to provide the best experience for you.
Food is outstanding - beautiful presentation and delicious. We had the premium omakase, a couple of steaks, side of bone marrow and the halo dessert which was just amazing.
We reserved a table with a view and were there for sunset which added to the overall experience. You could also walk out to the patio while you wait for your food so while a table with a view is not mandatory, we were celebrating a birthday and it was worth every penny.
All in all, a place we would highly recommend in the future. We might not go here every week but an easy pick for special occasions.

Racist restaurant. Been here multiple times and window seats are reserved for non-Asians only.

This place gives me Vegas vibes, without the execution. As a steak and seafood restaurant it excels at neither, while the food is not bad it does fulfill expectations at the price. What you are paying for is mostly the view and atmosphere and a novel experience. With that it is a place used to flex and show off to that tinder date. I would return but if some asked for an excellent seafood or steak place I recommend another. While we did not sample the entire menu, it may be possible there are items to rave about.

Tylor was our sever tonight. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday there, and we are not satisfied with Tylor’s service. First, he didn’t provide any instructions for the menu or foods. secondly, he didn’t provided whole drink menu, only cocktails menu. After ordered two cocktails(JOYRIDE was terrible for me), I asked for sparkling wine menu, he didn’t provide menu, only said what you have, and provide the wrong price. He said champagne was $25 per glass, but on our bill, it was $27. And the most important, after we ordered, he never came back to ask or talk to us, even no “how was everything?” , he severed the table next to us, and talked to them, asked them questions, but just ignored us. We spent $500 for two person and had this terrible service, it is unexpected. He deserves 0 tip. I left tips only for the one who serve the food to us.
Food was fine.

I want to express my frustration over how our wedding anniversary was handled.
I made a reservation 5 days in advance for the evening of September 1st to celebrate with my husband. Upon arrival, we were told to wait at the front desk. When we were finally seated, we found ourselves at a table set for three, right below a loud speaker playing hip music, and next to where the servers were preparing dishes. We had requested a window seat or a quieter table, and there were indeed empty tables available at that time.
However, we were informed that no such tables were available. The staff member at the front desk told us, "Even though it's your anniversary, we cannot offer any special service, and since our restaurant is always busy, you must sit at the table we've assigned." We received no welcome or acknowledgment of our special occasion, and not even a smile from the staff. I wonder if the staff and manager would have been happy to sit in the same spot if it were their own anniversary.
Furthermore, I sent a complaint email which was read within three minutes, yet I have not received any response after over a week. I also called on Thursday for over ten minutes to get a refund for the $50 reservation fee, but no one answered the phone.
I am extremely disappointed with the service and will not be returning.

I travel, occasionally, to Bellevue and I had heard of Ascend from a friend but only knew that it had great views. Walking in and experiencing it for myself I saw that it’s a true vibe. You can make a dinner reservation in the dining area but the lounge in the center of the restaurant is a prime place to join friends or have a romantic night out for cocktails and food. I wasn’t able to enjoy a cocktail that evening but they all looked fabulous with some having that dry ice, smoky effect. I ordered the Wagyu Beef Cheek Bao Sliders by recommended and paired it with the Nori Dusted Vinegar Fries and Bone Marrow on the side. The wagyu beef was a little firmer than I expected but overall the sliders are a hit and paired well with the savory mini fries. The bone marrow was more tendinous than I’m used to and I think that they can do without the mushroom chimichurri. The essence of great bone marrow is that it doesn’t need to be paired with anything. Overall, come for the views, drinks and vibe. It’s a winning combination.
Edit: I returned to have a cocktail. It was the Pear Pressure. It’s nice and light and has a beautiful aesthetic. Stopping by Ascend has been one of my favorite things when traveling across the country 🍸

My significant other and I came to Ascend for a very special night. When making a reservation, there is a question for any special occasion, but I did not add anything. The whole experience was raw and true!
The restaurant is very nice. One of the best visually pleasing places I have been to. A bit of a dark setting making taking pictures a little difficult, so it would be best to make a reservation when there is still light out!
My significant other and I had an amazing server! Her name is Natalie. She made the experience of the restaurant very pleasing to the point that I am still thinking of it to this day. Now, I have an amazing memory with my significant other and of our special night!

Edited review from 3 to 5 stars:
I recently gave Ascend Prime Steakhouse a second chance, and I'm happy to say they really turned things around! My first visit had its ups and downs, but this time, they completely redeemed themselves.
During my first visit, I started off with high hopes, especially after sipping on the amazing Knight Rider cocktail and enjoying a fantastic bread service and appetizers. The Korubata pork with arugula/ricotta agnolotti and the fresh o-toro were to die for. However, the main courses were a letdown. My "Miyazaki Prefecture” Wagyu filet, priced at $135 for 3 ounces, was surprisingly ordinary. My husband’s "Luxury Wagyu Angus Crossbreed Cap Ribeye” was undercooked and barely touched. Add in the broken strobe light above our booth, and it just wasn’t the premium experience we expected for the price. 😬
Despite these issues, the attentive service and the thoughtful reply to my initial review gave me hope that maybe it was just an off night. So, we decided to give Ascend another try—and I’m so glad we did! My kids are too!
This time, everything was on point. The steaks were cooked perfectly, the service was noticeably improved, and the entire experience was top-notch. The quality of the food made every penny worth it, and the great views and cozy booths just added to the overall ambiance.
Sure, it’s still pricey, but now I can confidently say the quality matches the cost. If you're looking for a special night out, Ascend has proven they can deliver. I'm glad I gave them another shot!

Had to update with the latest pic. Ascend is still delivering at 100 on all levels!
Amazing! Bring your credit card but this place is worth it. Old Fashioned with Four Roses small batch to start, yes please and bomb-diggity to boot! Bread service presentation was great. The parmesan puffed crisp, rice paper cracker with nori dust was insane. King Salmon Ceasar was good. My only complaint was there was maybe 1oz of salmon. Ultimate fail if you ask me, BUT, the salmon tasted amazing! New York strip was tender. Scallops had a great sear and were moist and tender. Dungeness Crab mac and cheese was a bit disappointing. Not as creamy or cheesy as expected. More of a kicked up pasta salad. Dessert.... insert mic drop here! Ordered the Halo and it didn't disappoint. Gave me a halo and a smile 🤣. Intense mango flavor. Creamy coconut. I also was given a panna cotta tray for my birthday. Packed with flavor... creamy and with fresh berries. Honestly. I didn't feel super stuffed after it all and took the rest home. Highly recommend the dining experience. Want to go back to enjoy the lounge. Wait!!! I can't forget the amazing views either. Come and enjoy the food, service, and the experience.

I recently visited this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was really good, with each dish being flavorful and well-presented. The service was amazing, with attentive and friendly staff. The drinks stood out because of their cool decorations and great taste. The desserts were delicious and perfectly complemented the meal. We usually go here to celebrate our anniversaries, and it always makes for a wonderful experience. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a great meal and celebrate special occasions.

This restaurant, perched on the 31st floor in Bellevue, offers stunning views, exceptional cocktails, and a vibrant atmosphere.
The menu features standout dishes like the Azuki Edamame Burger, Truffle Fries, Jackfruit Crab Cakes, and Spicy Citrus & Avocado Sushi.
Call outs: Rocket Pop (non-alcoholic) is both sweet and tart. The Spicy Citrus Avocado Rolls taste good but they are not spicy

I had the misfortune of engaging with Ascend recently, and I must say, it was a masterclass in how to exploit customers under the guise of luxury. I had made a reservation for a special congratulatory dinner for my best friend and his fiancée, who were celebrating their upcoming wedding. Unfortunately, due to an overload of commitments, we needed to cancel our reservation.
What followed was nothing short of shocking. Despite the fact that we were canceling on a Tuesday night, with over 15 other reservations still available, Ascend decided to charge us $25 per person – a total of $75 – even though we cancelled hours before our reservation. This wasn’t a high-demand weekend slot; this was a weeknight with ample availability. This fee is nothing more than a petty, money-grabbing tactic masquerading as a high-end policy.
I understand the need for policies to discourage last-minute cancellations, but when you cancel 4-5 hours before your reservation when the restaurant has 15+ other reservations still available during that same time frame, it's sheer exploitation. It’s clear that Ascend is more interested in nickel-and-diming their patrons than providing genuine value or quality service. What should have been a joyous occasion was marred by this underhanded practice, which reveals a profound lack of respect for their customers.
This establishment may try to present itself as upscale and high-end dining but their actions betray a much less glamorous reality. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere for a dining experience that truly values its patrons and offers the respect and quality you deserve.

Simply outstanding! Highlight of our trip to the Seattle area. Atmosphere is incomparable. We had the three sushi rolls recommended by our server as well as several pieces of nigiri - best sushi I have ever had.

Our first visit to Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi was nothing short of exceptional! Brian and Carlos provided outstanding service, making our experience truly memorable. Brian offered fantastic recommendations, and we were blown away by how delicious everything tasted.
The oysters were incredibly fresh and flavorful. The Bone Marrow, Tuna Tartare, Pork Belly, Spicy Tuna, and Prosciutto Roll were all phenomenal, each dish bursting with flavor. The Luxury Cap of Ribeye was cooked to absolute perfection—each bite melted in my mouth.
The highlight for me was the Hamachi Truffle Roll, which was simply divine. We ended the night with the Skyfall dessert, and it was both a treat for the taste buds and an experience in itself. Absolutely delicious!
To top it all off, the views from our table were absolutely gorgeous. We also went on the outside patio and took photos as well. We couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!

We always wanted to try Ascend so this year on our wedding anniversary I booked to have dinner. I mentioned in the notes it was our wedding anniversary and that we just had a second baby. They wished us happy anniversary at the entrance and then we waited around 30 minutes to be seated. I have seen on other posts here that when people were celebrating birthdays or anniversaries they were offered a small dessert plate. Also the n the tables next to where we were seated two other couples were celebrating birthdays or anniversaries and they were offered the “ Happy anniversary “ plate. I am not sure if it was complementary or paid but even if it was paid we were never offered the option to have that so I am quite disappointed on that. Also the restaurant was not busy at that day and time we went so I am not sure why we were ignored. The food and drinks was otherwise very good though pricey but that was expected. Views were great as well and service was polite but cold and not personal. We waited 30 minutes after our reservation to be seated and it was not busy at that time so not sure why. Also food took some time to come
Overall a bit disappointed from the experience

Have you changed the chef? I used to come and order tuna tartare, it was delicious, there was a delicious sauce, rice chips, and caviar. Now I almost threw up, it was not tasty with a sour apple. I didn't like it! A burger for 39,15$ with tips, with an egg without any greens is terrible! We waited for our order for 50 minutes! + on top of all that, there was already a 20% tip on the check. Maybe I don't want to tip? If I wait for my order for 50 minutes and can't find the waiter. Please return everything to how it was! I just don't want to hcome back anymore... if you leave it as is!

Celebrated my wife's birthday, the entire experience was divine.
The hostesses made sure to read my notes on the reservation, and wished her happy birthday upon arrival, and we were seated promptly at booth 201, with a gorgeous view of Bellevue and even Seattle.
Our waiter Sebastian was phenomenal through and through. An absolute gem. Cannot sing enough praises about his friendliness, service, attentiveness, and professionalism.
The menu was a bit intimidating at first, but we were able to figure it out, along with some tidbits from Sebastian.
Our drinks were delicious, I got the Cloud 9, and the wife got the Washingtonian. The Cloud 9 was alcoholic cotton candy, and the Washington Apple had a strong whiskey punch.
Bread course was fantastic.
After putting in our main orders, we stepped out to the balcony to take pictures. Breathless.
Started off with some Salmon Nigiri, Oysters, and a Spicy Tuna Roll. I think there could be room for improvement on the salmon nigiri. I prefer my nigiri more authentic with a dab of wasabi underneath, which Ascend does not practice. Unfortunately, our order of oysters got mixed up, and we ended up waiting a bit longer for the full count of oysters. All in all, oysters were great, and no complaints on the spicy tuna.
Our mains were a Luxury Wagyu cap steak, scallops, and potato puree (fancy mashed potatoes). As my first time having wagyu, it was absolutely out of this world. Perfectly cooked, tender, juicy, and exploding with flavor. Perhaps next time, Ill be more daring to splurge on the authentic Japanese wagyu. The scallops were also amazing, and the potato puree with Japanese purple yam center added a wonderful compliment side dish.
For dessert, we ordered a Halo, and as hoped, an additional birthday dessert was brought out, the Skyfall. The tropical fruit flavors of the Halo was the perfect blend of sweet and refreshing, while the Skyfall was a smoke performance to remember; also delicious, with it's mix of fruits and various cheeses.
The waiter assistant, who looked strikingly like Mr. Beast, was also splendidly friendly and a joy.
Ambience-wise, it was definitely much louder and livelier than I was expecting. At times, almost felt more like a family restaurant, than a fine dining establishment. But the food and Sebastian's service definitely made up for it.
All in all, 9/10, if not for for the oyster mix-up, and the occasional child running uncontrolled.

My parents and I had the brunch menu in July.
Service was attentive and water/coffee refills were consistent. Our waitstaff person (I'm so sorry that I forgot their name) answered my questions and went to check with someone else when they weren't sure (I appreciate the accuracy). All staff were friendly and warm.
Ambience was nice with well-placed tables and enough space between them; we did not feel crowded in. Of course, the view is stunning, but let's be real that the restaurant has nothing to do with curating that or making a lake :)
Honestly, we were severely disappointed in the brunch menu.
At our table of three, we ordered:
1- chicharron chicken and waffle
2- fruitopia pancakes-- the pancakes were super dense like unleavened bread. It kind of had a taste of raw flour.
3- lardon, hash and eggs--
4- frittata with spanish ham--
5- two orders of the white miso leaf/black cod/coconut forbidden rice-- the black cod was overdone (both visually and when I tasted it) and the coconut forbidden rice was much too sweet, broken, and undercooked/crunchy. I've had forbidden rice many times before and (I believe) it should be chewy if cooked properly.
6- wagyu supplement-- this was the only thing that was worth the visit, which makes me think that the dinner menu is better than brunch. In fact, we had to take this one to go (I think the server did not submit this ticket, or the kitchen forgot, as I had to remind our server) and eating it cold from the container a few hours later was significantly better than our hot food at the restaurant table.
I would go back to Ascend again to try the proper dinner menu (I admit my mistake in booking brunch-- I completely forgot that I was booking for 12pm on a Saturday, which is my fault. I assumed we could still get the dining room menu.) However, the brunch was below average and frankly not cooked well when considering the price point and reputation of Ascend. It seems like most of the Google reviewers are super impressed with dinner service and I am interested in trying that.
Additionally, there seemed to be a glitch in the text reminder system and there was a discrepancy between Seven Rooms (3 people at 12) vs. what the text reminder said (5 people at 11:15). Given the strict cancellation rules (15 minutes grace period before charging $25/pp), I was anxious about this discrepancy. I called the restaurant on Friday evening, left a message, and didn't hear back. I also responded to the text with screenshots and there was no response (texting had been suggested in the confirmation email as a way of contacting the restaurant), and as a last resort I emailed the address listed. There was no response back from any of these communications. I called at opening time on Saturday morning, and they confirmed the proper details. This would have been much less of an issue if there wasn't such a cancellation penalty...

We recently celebrated our 7-year wedding anniversary at Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi in Bellevue, and the experience was truly exceptional. Our experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing and disturbing. Our waiter act extremely rude, condescending, and racist behavior. He treated us markedly differently compared to the white patrons at the adjacent table. Despite knowing it was our baby's birthday celebration, he continuously rolled his eyes and displayed contemptuous expressions towards us.
Every time we ordered a dish, he responded with a mocking tone, questioning our choices with phrases like, "Oh, you really want that?" and "You want this and that together?" When we attempted to order burgers, he informed us that they were only served in the lounge room and asked if we wanted to move there, which was delivered in an unnecessarily sarcastic manner. This level of disrespect and unprofessionalism in customer service is unacceptable.

Took a co-worker for Happy Hour to Ascend to share my previous good experience with her. Did we get disappointed! We were seated underneath a speaker with loud music, next to the steak the grill & fan. We could barely talk and hear each other. The beef tartare I shared with 4 people previously, came in such a small portion that I asked if the chef made a mistake. Apparently not. It was laughable small to share with two for $34!
The espresso martini was the worst I ever had (the bartender ought to take some classes) and I was charged $8 for the espresso and $15 for the Tito shot! Really? The wine for my co-worker was poured barely in 1/3 of the glass. We thought the staff (or whoever pours drinks) doesn’t know wine pouring portions. I have never seen 3 sips to a glass at regular prices. It was more of a ‘wine tasting’ pour. The views are great! My recommendation: go for the views, order a coke and take pictures! Not much can go wrong there.

-The place has an phenomenal view especially on sunset time
-Parking in the mall parking structure
-Servers are polite and professional, knowledgeable about the food
Now to the DOWNSIDE.
-Service was not that good compare to the price we paid for $500 ( they were mentioned they understaffed ) we were waiting for 25 mins to be seated / waiting for 20 mins just to get the water and wine menu / waiting for 30 mins for the bread to be served/ waiting for another 30 mins to order and waiting another 30 mins to get the food so… all the appetite are gone.
-The food itself, it was a beautiful presentation but the taste was not that wow.

WOW! Best anniversary meal ever! Food 10, Ambiance 10, Service 10, did I say Food 10? Everything we ordered was exceptional. We got the kurobuta pork belly, hamachi truffle roll (my absolute favorite), king salmon ceviche roll, Kumamoto oysters, and Wagyu steaks. For sides we got the crab Mac n cheese and the mushrooms. My only wish is that there were more pieces of pork belly in the appetizer. I loved it so much that I wanted to drink the broth out of the bowl. I liked the flavor of my Cap ribeye wagyu better than my husbands Gina wagyu steak, but his def was melt in your mouth. We both asked for medium steaks but they both came out medium rare, which we didn’t mind at all since we like medium rare too. We also got the cucumber mint and the hibiscus mocktails; YUM! We asked for the smoke and they were very kind and happily obliged by adding it to our drinks. We loved the Smoke effect! And that dessert was a feast for the eyes 🤩 we got the Skyfall and the Magic Mushroom. My husband and I enjoyed the spectacular views and we really appreciated how the staff took their time to take our photos. I hope to take my family here soon!

Ascend is expensive!
Now that the obvious is out of the way...it's worth it.
The food, atmosphere, and service are genuinely next level. My date and I went there for a birthday dinner and it was perfect. The front of house and waitstaff all acknowledged her birthday and made a point to stop by and wish her a Happy Birthday. It really made it a special experience for her and I'm super grateful for that specific touch.
There was an issue with the steak I initially received. I asked our server, Tyler, if it was accurately cooked. He immediately confirmed it wasn't correct and brought out a perfectly cooked replacement steak. It was a bit of a damper, but another staff member brought me a small plate to snack on sides during the wait. This helped pass the time and avoided me having to scoop directly from the dishes. Not removing any stars for the hiccup as the recovery was near flawless.
For the food itself, it was all rock solid (as an experience, not consistency). New and unique flavors I hadn't had, or at least to the same degree. They've managed to add umami and smokiness in concentrations and dishes I wouldn't have expected...or expected to enjoy as much as I did. The steaks were both delicious, wet and dry aged.
Overall, Ascend is awesome, the food is great, and everyone passes the vibe check.

Decided to take my 93 year old father and husband to Ascend for dinner on FAthers day. I will say the ambiance and service was nice. Our food all came out at different times. Drink order was wrong. Bread service was silly. Fancy 1 bite puff of yeast. My salad came out before the appetizers. Just a mess.
We ordered the chef special which was 235.00 for fancy Japanese steak. Sub par, tough and not flavorful. I’ve had better food and quality at chain restaurants. I may come back for a cocktail in the lounge but never for dining.

We’ve been to Ascend for dinner and for happy hour, and were impressed both times. Our Happy Hour experience couldn’t have been better—small bites, great drinks, their amazing dessert selection, and an incredible view across the lake. Highly recommend!

Spent our 10th anniversary dinner here. What a mistake. Had to both send our steaks back. Both undercooked. When you spend over a hundred dollars for a steak it should be close to correct but both were flavorless as well. The Dungeness crab Mac and cheese was good but no crab flavor. The desert was really good. I think maybe they should stick to desert and coffee. I looked the ownership up and it’s a chain that also owns famous Dave’s. BBQ. Bingo. Cheap meat. On top of it all they charge a service fee added to your bill for the kitchen The atmosphere is great as your on the 31st floor. Again. I would recommend them for coffee and desert.

Fantastic wagyu steaks and good views! The Skyfall was also a lot of fun to watch and to eat.
