My friend and I were in the area and decided to stop in to have some sushi, etc. We met the family that owns the place and Mama Bento spent time giving us some history on their family and the restaurants history along with all the pictures, paintings and artifacts so.e of which are shared by other customers. Really great little whole in the wall. You must try the vegetarian dumplings and home made soy sauce. Amazing! I'll be back for sure. Thanks Mama Bento!!

I’ve been coming to Bento for well over a decade now, and go back every time I’m in the area! There’s also a reason the entire restaurant showcases so many cards, notes and gifts from Bento customers. Bento Mom is so caring, and always remembers my order, even when I haven’t visited in six months. The food is all extremely fresh and of the highest quality. She makes her own soy sauce! Going to Bento is an experience for the highest quality sushi and tea.

Not only was the sushi INCREDIBLE! The service was unmatched. There aren't many small businesses like this one around where the owners greet you and treat you like family. The restaurant is filled with a rich history of happy customers and the ambience is overflowing with love, laughter and success. Truly a special place, you can't find places like this everywhere where the people running the place care deeply! 10/10 recommend trying it out, you won't regret it.

What an amazing experience! The sushi and dumplings are heaven sent! I have been to Japan and this place is way better in flavor and preparation, truly blessed have have walked in and been able to experience their delicious sushi & dumplings. I will be back to try other items on their menu. Oh and the soy sauce… WOW!!! I could drink it right out of the saucer. This is a must try and I promise you will enjoy it!

We have been coming to see Bento Mom & Dad for over 13 years, and NOBODY does sushi/dumplings like them! Their sushi is always fresh and delicious, the portion sizes are perfect, and nothing beats their home brewed soy sauce! 10/10 will ALWAYS recommend Bento Cafe.

Everything is made fresh, the customer service is amazing, the soy sauce (made there) is top tier and I only wish it was sold by the bottle. I ordered Q and #5. I got full half way through, but it was so good I just pushed through. I don’t normally write reviews, but I see why this place is so beloved.

SUPER overpriced. $124 for a plate with two rolls, a plate with sashimi, two special orders (masago & unagi), two teas and some dumplings.
When we walked into the restaurant it was empty and we weren't sure anyone was even working. After a few minute or two Bento Mom came to the register and introduced herself.
The menu was confusing and the pictures were unclear. I feel like they are probably as old as the restaurant itself (19 years). I was a little shocked at the prices on the menu above the register, but decided to stay and give it a try anyways.
We were talked into dumplings and some homemade tea.
Bento Mom walked us toward the tables after we paid a shocking amount of money (I was expecting to pay about $60 when I walked in, but was charged more than double!). She showed off all her cards and gifts and news articles and even the water cross. She preached to us about her religion and soy sauce. It was a very awkward experience.
The food and tea arrive. There was nothing special about any of it.
I will not be returning. I can't AFFORD to return. I wish Bento Mom and Bento Dad all the best, but this place was not for us.

Incredibly overpriced for the quality and quantity of food. Also I would have probably been a bit less critical if the owner didn't go on a completely unprompted, pretty insane, 10 minute political rant while I was stuck there waiting for the food.

Over priced and bland. Ordered not spicy ramen and it was still spicy. Dumplings were good. Sushi had zero taste. Super super overpriced.

My husband and I decided to give this place a try for the first time since we wanted both ramen and sushi.
1. When we entered we immediately noticed how cold it was then was soon greeted by the owners who were bundled up in 3 layers each so NO HEAT in this restaurant. Also, there is so much clutter that I’m sure it’s a fire hazard.
2. We ordered one dumpling, one sushi roll, one shrimp ramen and one chicken ramen which totaled $79.10. Guess they are up charging to provide heat soon because the food doesn’t match the price tag.
3. Dumplings - Good flavor and quantity 8/10, Sushi - Avocado was completely brown and shrimp tasted old 3/10, Shrimp Ramen - Very odd taste almost no flavor and 1 shrimp tempura on top 2/10 and Chicken Ramen - no chicken included and no real flavor 4/10.
4. Owners are nice and do a lot of bragging but the food does not match the atmosphere or food quality. I explained to the owner I didn’t enjoy the shrimp ramen and that it was only 1 shrimp in the ramen for $16.95 and she didn’t even offer to remake or refund my order but she did say others love it.

I just ate at the Bento Cafe and the sushi and dumplings were excellent. I will definitely be back. The soy sauce and teas are made in house. Bento Mom is a blessing. Since this was my first visit, she asked what I had a taste for and quickly made a recommendation that was perfect.

I have been to Bento Sushi couple of times ONLY because that is the only sushi place around that area; the other one is in the mall. Whenever I have been there the owner is super sweet but brags a lot about her sushi and mentions she has many customers around the world and they come here just for her sushi. HOW? It is the least flavorful sushi that I have eaten in my life. I don’t find it any good although I have tried a couple of them. Also the price is tooooo high. I know that the couple makes them fresh but I dislike spending so much on a below average sushi. She says her sushi is the best in the area. I couldn’t disagree more. It is BELOW AVERAGE. I think the sweet talk with the people is her way of having loyal customers. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

The owners were very friendly and the food tasted delicious. I just feel like you can get sushi the same quality somewhere else and definitely cheaper. Me and my boyfriend ordered two entrees, dumplings and two teas all added up to $90. It’s too pricey for the quality and quantity in my opinion.

Lovely lady , good food , small portions expensive . Didn’t know I was walking in to be preached about religion and politics!

The sushi was good. "Bento mom" was over the top. Its one thing to brag about your product, but the over the top monologue about her family and Jesus was just too much. But more than anything the prices were outrageous and not transparent. Already i thought $20.99 for two normal rolls was high but when two of us were charged $64 for 2 of those, 5 small dumplings and a water and can of coke i was shocked. There are too many sushi places with a much better value to go there again.

I don’t like to write negative comments but after reading some reviews I realized I’m not the only one feeling the same.
Sushi craving yesterday so I quickly found a sushi place nearby. High reviews in the vicinity on Google map but I walked into this empty restaurant seeing lots of handcrafted goodies and notes of memory on the wall, tables, up and down, left and right everywhere, with all these maybe food is good. The bento mom said she and her husband, the chef, has been running this place for 19 years, and has lots of customers from all over the world, it explains the smell, history, and ambience. The menu items and pricing were written plus the pictures were quite confusing and complicated to read, that being said, there’s nothing catchy. So I simply ordered what I normally have for a first-visit sushi place, and found out how odds and abnormal of the quantity I first saw and quality I finally tasted. The food was surprisingly overpriced after I got the bill and the pricing was lack of itemization and transparency. A hand sized box with a combo of two sushi rolls squeezed in for $26.35? The portion of sushi rolls was small and the ratio of rice was too generous to find the existence of tuna and salmon. Am I eating just rice rolls? And alongside tiny bit of wasabi and "chopped" into pieces of pickled ginger reflected how much they suffered from inflation and treasured what they have. And the lady said the soy sauce was homemade, people even drink it. I doubted about self-brewed soy sauce because no one does it on their own, I still gave it a try anyway. I swear that soy sauce smelled and tasted just like the age of this place, and weirdly flavored with whatever you/I don't want to know. At the end, I just swallowed them all for the sake of money I put. I totally felt scammed. What a horrible dining experience for the first time ever and I will never go back or even think about this place again despite how friendly and nice this lady was. I’m here for food.
Visited 7 months ago
One of the worst dining experience.
Overpriced and poor quality food.
The place smells like they have been frying all day long even though it was empty.
Place is outdated, and not well mantained.
Half open kitchen, does not seem to be kept clean and organized, boxes everywhere.
People working in it do not have basic uniforms, no hat or hairnet , that is usually required while working with food. A fan blowing in the dining room wasn't helping. It was warm and sticky. No AC.
All together awful experience.

I stop by this place all of the time during my trips to this region. They are always so polite and like the owner always says herself, "We make it fresh!". So don't expect to go in there and have your order ready in 5 minutes. It can take an average of 15-20 minutes. But I ALWAYS come here. The staff are professional and quick. They are following current respiratory hygiene guidelines. Update 7/30/2023: The owner lady started making her conversation more political-heavy. I come for the food, I don't really care what side of the political spectrum you stand on, much less have you asking for affirmation that I agree on a particular side. It's because of this I've decided to stop buying my food here. Update 8/4/2024: Because of the state of the immediate area, passing by, I noticed a homeless person loitering directly outside the store and was laying down in front of the window. I guess it speaks to the upkeep of the shopping center and this particular establishment. Still not going in to buy their food with this and what was aforementioned.

Terrible! Wish I read the lower ratings before coming here. Ordered two small sushi (salmon and tuna roll). Usually the basic of rolls at any sushi place. Guess how much I was charged?
$40! Literally two tiny basic rolls. I asked for the receipt. She wouldn’t give it to me. Online the prices for these two are $10.95 and $9.95. How does that come out to $40??????
Casually told me that online prices have changed because things are expensive now. My rolls didn’t even have salmon or tuna. It was basically just rice. I’m livid!!!

Bento mom catered my sip and see when I was born and I’ve been going here periodically since I was little. She trained me how to properly eat sushi from a young age and her lessons always stuck with me. She truly wears her heart on her sleeve and brings a warm and welcoming energy when you walk in. When I came in today after celebrating my graduation she recognized and congratulated me since it had been years since. I absolutely recommend for anyone looking for a unique and personal bento experience :)

New to the area and saw this place was a local spot so wanted to give it a try, should have read all the reviews beforehand. First was trying to view the menu and the lady who while very friendly kept coming over and making it harder to view the menu. We decided to try her famous dumplings (2 orders) and then 2 sushi plates and 3 drinks and our total was over $80. Also should note drinks are individual bottles of water or soda cans. Food came out in a timely manner but the woman was at our table back and forth asking tons of questions and talking, I personally want to just relax and take in everything when I eat so was a little uncomfortable with the hovering. The raw sushi was room temp and threw me off after eating one piece. Later regretted that one piece…my husband has a tank for a stomach so he had no problems, but would not return again.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to get sushi on a Saturday night and this restaurant was highly rated. To our surprise, when we got there, it was only us and another customer picking up their order. While we were looking at the menu, we also observed Bento mom’s interaction with the other customer. The customer ordered ramen and was telling Bento mom that she was not used to the portion being that small. After she left, we continued to look at the menu. Bento mom then asked if it was our first time there and how we found out about the place. She told us about her world famous dumplings and how good of a deal it was. She also expressed that the soy sauce is made in house. My girlfriend ordered the chicken katsu and I ordered the California roll (6 pcs) + soft shell crab (6 pcs) along with the dumplings from the appetizer menu. The total came out to around $65. While we were waiting for the food, Bento mom gave us a tour of the restaurant. She was telling us how people from around the world come there to eat her food. She appeared to be very religious and devout in her Christian faith because she kept saying that “Jesus was her boss”. We asked for water but Bento mom said that it needs to be bought and charged us $2.75 per bottle even though we were dining in, so we ended up getting 2 bottles. I had never before been to a restaurant where we had to pay for water while dining in. Absolutely ridiculous. Afterwards, we sat down and saw the dumplings being taken out of the fridge and being fried even though we were told it was made fresh. She brought that out first and we were surprised by how tiny the size of the dumplings were. She then brought our entrees and we were surprised by the portion size of it. At that point, we decided to go online and look at other pictures of the entrees we ordered. Bento mom gave my gf two dumplings and said that they were on the house. When in reality, that was supposed to come with her meal, at least according to the pictures we saw online. The chicken katsu just looked like cut up chicken nuggets. The sushi I ordered was very small and tasted average. The picture of the food on the menu at the restaurant was much larger than what was actually served. During our meal, Bento mom would come over to ask how the food is and she kept asking us personal questions regarding our relationship. We started questioning why the total was $65 and started to calculate the price while we ate. I went to ask her for an itemized receipt and I noticed that we were upcharged by $4. She charged for the price of the pork katsu rather than the chicken katsu by $1. She also said that the sauce on the sushi was an extra $3 which was not communicated to us other than a sign at the cash register. Bento mom said that due to inflation, she has to charge extra for some sauces on the sushi. Unbelievable. Also, the food portions were so small that we ended up going to Texas Roadhouse afterwards because we were both still so hungry. For the price we paid, we could have gotten twice the amount of food from literally any other sushi restaurant. Bento mom tries to distract her customers by sweet talking and making you think you’re special. Stay far, far away from this place.

The people there are very nice, friendly, helpful, but if you’re introverted person, it may be a little much for you if you’re just looking for a quick going in and out. I like giving business to small business owners. I was stopping in thinking there would be air conditioning on a hot day after a long walk over there, and to order something cheap, but that was unfortunately not the case. I usually get simple sushi rolls, not speciality, for under $10 a roll. Osaka off of Darby is a great place to go for that if you’re looking for cheap, but decent rolls, and to support a family owned business. I’m not giving a lower review, because it was my mistake not realizing how much I’d be spending walking out of there. I had trouble reading the menu, and prices. I should’ve asked how much it was beforehand, and I apologize for that. $40 for two rolls (12 piece) really put me out for the week. I’m a Christian myself, and like how bold the nice lady is with her faith, but I’m very skeptical of “The Healing Code” she tried to sell to me while standing there, particularly because it sounded very new-age, and not Christian. I will have to look into it more. I came out of alternative spirituality before I became a Christian, and so I’m very cautious about that sort of stuff. I’m always concerned about anything that is guaranteeing healing from any ailment. Very health, wealth, prosperity gospel, and she shared a lot of supernatural experiences that she claimed happened in the shop. Jesus absolutely does heal, and do miracles, and we should pray in faith, but I would say to exercise discernment in this area. Many people have been hurt by false promises of healing, and the Enemy of our souls can also perform supernatural counterfeits, so it’s important to be watchful especially in this day in age, where many false prophets and false christs will rise up and deceive the hearts of many. All in all the sushi was decent, but it wasn’t worth the price of it, though I appreciate her taking the time to try to help me with my order, and you will hear a lot of interesting stories, but just keep your eyes on Jesus. God Bless.

TL;DR - Trust the 1-star reviews
I really hate leaving bad reviews, especially when it’s a mom and pop shop, but this place is legitimately scummy - and the food is awful. We saw that it had over 4 stars and decided to give it a shot without reading the lower-rated reviews. Big mistake as they are all accurate.
1. It seems most folks are getting charged in the $90 range without an itemized receipt and being overcharged for nothing close to the value of the food - quality and quantity. I’m happy to pay for quality, but it should be at least edible and accounted for on a receipt…
2. The sushi was really awful. The sashimi/nigiri was room temperature - I was too scared to even eat it. I was brave enough to try the cooked sushi and I couldn’t get myself to finish that either. Nothing was good unfortunately.
I’m sorry to the owner - I know it’s tough making ends meet and running a business. I wouldn’t have written this review if I didn’t walk out of there feeling scammed and not even feeling safe enough to eat the sushi. It seems our experience was had by many others as well.

Bento mama made us both feel like we were her children who have been missing. The food was good but I understand everyone’s review regarding pricing and I will agree the price is definitely on the higher side for the portion. The Soysauce was homemade which made it much more appealing. It was overall a fun class experience and I’m so happy with found it and will be back!

Food was very very expensive and sushi was subpar. I don’t have a problem paying premium prices for premium food but this was not it. The dumplings were greasy and sushi tasted old. Like the ingredients were left out for a while. We also got an earful of the woman’s political and religious views, which is not a problem but would have rather skipped it.

Avoid! Worst sushi rolls I’ve ever had. Overpriced, small rolls, lots of rice. We are out of town, not familiar with the restaurants in the area and picked this place because most of the reviews were good. Came on Saturday around noon, right at lunch time and the place was empty. No wonder.
Don’t waste your time and money, better go to the mall, which is 3 minutes away, even their sushi will be better.

It was a terrible experience. I was greeted by an older lady at the entrance who was very friendly and showed me around the store of the gifts that her “fans” gave them. The menu that was displayed didn’t have any prices on it and I chose to do a bento box and initially didn’t want anything else but as I was getting checked out the lady asked if I wanted to add extra sauces without knowing it was an additional charge. I do not consider that worth it for an average sushi experience. Would not come back again.

we came back to get some sushi after years and it was just as wonderful as an experience as it was back then <3. bento mom is a national treasure, and the sushi is some of the best you’ll find in the state. definitely recommend the ginger tea warm, it’s like a sweet hug.

El 🍣 es rico y su salsa, pedirla por uber es lo peor ellos siempre olvidan ponerte los palillos y en peor de los casos olvidan ponerte la salsa cuando haces más de dos órdenes al mismo tiempo

Came in today with my mom for some lunch, and we had such a wonderful experience, served to us by the beautiful Bento Mom! The flavors of the food were so fresh, and the soy sauce was one-of-a-kind. Treat yourself to incredible food, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

I think I just got adopted! So delicious the food. Bento Mom is one of a kind. Make this place your next stop for incredible home made dishes. The sushi was so fresh and they make their own soy sauce. But best of all is the friendliness and sincerely of the owner, Bento Mom.❤️👍

I came for dinner over the weekend. Despite the reviews, the restaurant was empty, and I entered feeling a bit uneasy. Unfortunately, my hunch was right.
Upon entering, an older woman greeted us and provided friendly service, explaining various things displayed in the restaurant. We decided on our order during this time: two bento combos, dumpling, and tea, which totaled about $90. The price of the herbal tea wasn't listed, making it a mystery how it added up to $90. They didn't even serve water. Honestly, I'd rather buy sushi from Wegmans. it's tastier and more reasonably priced.
I felt like the customers coming here are visiting to meet the owner.

Bento Mom's warmth envelops you from the moment you step in – a sweet and welcoming atmosphere that feels like a culinary hug. The delightful array of dishes mirrors the owner's kindness, creating a comforting experience. The food, a symphony of flavors, dances on the palate, while the tea adds a soothing touch to the overall culinary masterpiece. A visit to Bento Mom is not just a meal; it's a heartwarming journey.

I think this is the best in the Woodbridge area. I think it would benefit from bringing in, and training younger staff, as to not lose quality of the taste. The atmosphere of the restaurant could be spruced up. It's not horrible but it could use a make over. The shrine wall could stay, but better organization and proper shelving would give it a great presentation to show off the many alcaldes the own has received. Also, the presentation of the food could also be better. One of the main parts of the cuisine was the presentation of it.

A hidden gem. The Bento Mom running the place is the sweetest lady - she taught my son how to use chopsticks today and he just had a blast with her. We both loved the sushi and ramen as well as her famous dumplings she raves about. They really were delicious!

The food was really good and the soy sauce they make is great along with the teas. The service is great. The lady also showed how to eat sushi properly.

Well at least cancel my order. That’s what merchants do when they can’t fulfill orders. Tf you guys marked it as ready for pick up. Now I have to dispute it thru my bank and Uber eats that I never got my order. Deceiving, shady business. And if you actually read the reviews, you’ll see that they’ve been reported for money laundering. Had I read the reviews beforehand, I would’ve never ordered from there or stepped foot in there. Avoid it like the plague and go to Sushi Jin. At least you’ll be refunded if they can’t deliver and you won’t go thru the hassle of trying to get your money back.

I don't think I've ever reviewed a restaurant before but this is the exception because my girlfriend and I both feel as if we've been duped. We wanted sushi and found this place which was close and had good high ratings so we figured we'd give it a shot. Biggest mistake was not actually READING the reviews, which are either 1 star or 5 star(has to be fake). This place is EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. After deciding what we want and ordering; 2 dragon rolls, 2 orders of dumplings, and 2 teas, it came out to $99.25. I was dumbfounded as to how we were being charged this much. The owner is very aggressively, charismatic and chatty as to distract you from what you're going to pay, and once we swiped our card it sank in as to what we just did. I later asked as to how we're being charged this much, as an itemized receipt is not given, and apparently the teas(which had no price on the menu) were $11 each and she also mentions "inflation" and "blame the white house". All the food that came out was average at best, and it is incredibly small portions. I'm home right now and I'm making food to eat because I'm still hungry. It's absolutely insane. If you want to walk out of an establishment and feel as though the owner is laughing at you between her fingers as to how she got you, this is the place. If not, look elsewhere.

This was by far the worst food I've ordered out! I stopped by there because one of my favorite sushi restaurant's closed abd moved back to MD. So I figured I would give BENTO CAFE a try...the worst mistake for $36. My take out order was packaged in recycled food containers, see the pictures. The food itself...I just have to say, don't go there. The prices were fair for decent/good sushi but this was terrible 😫. Too im surprised the Health department hasn't shut them down. The display table in the sitting area was okay, however if you looked over that counter in the kitchen area...OMG...in back of the sushi bat just had ceap piled up around from the floor to half way up the walls. I shocked with myself that I even ordered here. Oh, and the soy sauce...well all I have to say is Kikkoman taste better. BENTO soy sauce had no taste. Well I guess you already know I will not go back there. I ordered the B item and the shrimp tempura under the appetizers, and those 'dumplings' ...it was terrible and I after a few bits, I threw it away. I'm sorry I couldn't leave a better review.

This place is used for money laundering.
The absolute worst sushi I've ever had and 10x more expensive than it should be.
No one is EVER there!! It's a scam operation used to launder money.
The 5 star ratings are all fake, and are similar in nature, obviously d9ne by the owner.
There are no menus, and only a 1980s cash register.
Do yourself a favor and stay far away.
I sent an inquiry to the FBI and state officials to have them investigated.

🚨🚨🚨🚨The foods are unreasonably expensive. We ordered very small two sushi and tea and ended up paying $80. The price on the wall is ver confusing. Be very careful make sure you ask the price before ordering. The receipt is also very unclear. It looks like the owner just makes up the price. One cup of tea was $9. Not sure how. Food was also not that great, some of the fish had a black stain.

First time trying this spot and I was very pleased. The food was very good; California roll, Salmon roll, and dumplings. Soy sauce is made in house and was also very good. Patrons order at the counter and the food is brought to the table, then the table is cleaned upon departure.
During my visit, it was not busy (1-2 other patrons), but it took a bit longer than anticipated for the food to be made. I had no complaint for this visit, as indicated by my rating. I only include this for those folks with short lunch breaks--I'd recommend calling in your order.

The prices vs the quality and portion received is abysmal. It’s clear that they are hurting for business as they want the patrons to subsidize their revenue even more.

The best place to get sushi and dumplings 10 out of 10. So many options to choose from.
Visited 2 years ago
Very disappointed with this place. The food on the walls does not have prices so you don’t know what anything costs! The lady that owns the place does a really good job at distracting you with political discord so you don’t notice the crazy price you just paid for mediocre food. I ordered the chicken katsu and it was the saddest katsu I have ever eaten. I also got shrimp tempura and again, incredible skimpy and small. Barely any food at all can be all yours for the price of $34.99. Honestly save your money and go elsewhere.

The food is delicious and worth every penny.

I'm not sure how they have so many good ratings lol the sushi as others have said is very over priced. I got 4 basic sushi rolls and my order came out to $42. They were so tiny, barely any fish in it. The quality of the sushi also wasn't anything to brag about to even charge as much as the do. Just bad overall unfortunately.

Despite the charming (& aggressive) owner, we will never return to this place. The food is outrageously priced and menu is laughable with only pictures. No description or prices. We ordered pork Udon, 2 Maki rolls, 1 can of coke and 1 beer. Our bill was $90 with tip and the sushi was really bad. Warm mushy rice and smelly fish. If you want sushi in woodbridge, I would look elsewhere.

I really hate writing negative reviews , but I do not want anyone to fall for the 1000+ 4.3stars reviews that this place has on google. Based on recent reviews and my experience here today , I would not recommend this place for sushi or ramen. The flavor of the food is decent- I would give their spicy chicken ramen a 2.5/5 and their sushi rolls - 2/5 for taste, but when it came to quantity and price this place is a 0/5. We ordered a #9-$21.99 , #12-$28.99 ,a spicy chicken ramen -$16.99 and a bottled iced tea - somehow it came it to $88.95 (this math was not math-in). When the food came out, I was baffled by the very small portion sizes. I know inflation is affecting everyone but this is absolute robbery. Mama Bento is very bubbly, chatty and quite enthusiastic about Jesus but I get the impression that she does not get a-lot of business there and makes up for it by charging exorbitant prices for everything on the menu. This place is not worth it. If you value your hard earned money go else where for sushi or ramen.
Visited 2 years ago
We payed $100 for barely any food. The old lady working there is a scammer. She sells a bottle of water for $7 and charged us $20 for a cup of tea. Everything is extremely poor quality and even more overpriced. We ordered a plate of dumplings and only got 3 pieces and the ramen was like cup noodles from the gas station. There was just warm water with noodles in a bowl and the sushi was very average for the price of a high end restaurant. Not to mention that wasabi, soy sauce and chopsticks are $3 extra! The place itself is old rusty and had dirty dishes on tables everywhere. I definitely do not recommend this place for anyone. The old lady working there that refers to herself as “mama bento” made bizzare comments and set up a little show to steal people’s hard earned money. Stay away.

I always love getting sushi from here. I order over the phone and pick it up within 15-20 minutes, definitely a reasonable amount of time for an order for 1. Quality is consistently high. Dumplings are a good mix of crispy and chewy. I order here at least once a month and it always hits the spot.

I really want to see mom and pop restaurants succeed, especially because we were the only ones in the restaurant. But the prices are crazy here and I found the menu really hard to understand and how they do their pricing. I was shocked when they told me my order of two rolls (rainbow roll and avocado roll) and two appetizers came out to over $80! Not to mention they said everything is made fresh and I clearly saw them drop the frozen shrimp and dumplings in the oil. Needless to say I’m disappointed mostly because the pricing is definitely not clear.

This place is legit and worth the $$. Don't sleep on Bento's authentic Japanese cuisine. I had the #4, and their famous dumplings ✨chef's kiss✨

The food and packaging was amazing. We snuck our food into the movie theater and it was so worth it, we were in bliss. My family came to visit a couple or weeks before and it was my first time there (my boyfriend is from the area so he’s been there many times) and they loved it too. The service is amazing and so is the food .

This is the most overpriced and horrible sushi I have ever had. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bento box and 1 order of veggie rolls. The bento box was for my child who did not want to eat it because it looked like a mixture of weird chicken and ground beef? There was absolutely no teriyaki sauce in her box whatsoever. My veggie roll was a roll full of rice with ONE thin slice of cucumber. And apparently, all of that was worth $52.00!!!!! Save your money and taste buds and go to a different restaurant. This restaurant doesn't even deserve 1 star!!!

This place is AMAZING! I just searched for a sushi place near me and i chose this one and I’m so glad i did. Not only was the sushi amazing but the customer service is too. Bento Mama is so friendly and enthusiastic it’s wonderful. And the DUMPLINGS! The dumpling are like no other ones i’ve ever tasted or experienced. We loved the food and the whole experience with Bento mom!! Thank you for teaching us how to properly hold the chopsticks and how to make a cushion for them!!

Too expensive for quality of sushi. Hidden costs for any extra sauce, ginger, or wasabi. The presentation of the food was disappointing. $60 for 9 pieces of salmon and 18 California rolls, I’d expect better. The rice was cooked with way too much water and the California rolls were extremely lacking in ingredients. Salmon quality was okay but were extremely small. I’m not sure what the previous reviews are talking about because I was misled. Even if the food is bad, I don’t waste time reviewing but this is way too expensive for what is offered. Not recommended.

We had lunch for 4 people, 2 ramen, 2 sushi and a drink. She charged us $120. This is ridiculous! The ramens were very bad. The chicken in the ramen was like a joke, go and see how bad it is. We will never go here again! I don’t recommend anyone to this place!

I came here on a whim and absolutely fell in love with Mama Bento, her dumplings and her tea- as does EVERYONE. I even came back only a few days later and ran into a few of their regulars. The food alone is fresh, so well made and impeccably presented. But beyond that, what keep you coming back is Mama Bento and her husband’s kindness, humor and the dedication they put into their food. Stop by, I promise you won’t regret it.

We went to eat ramen soup paying for 2 bowls $43.95, it was literally just noodles the one you get for$0.50, it supposed to have pork, there wasn't any pork, they charged us $4 extra for the spicy, it didn't even have broth. It was just a very bad experience, she said it was because of the inflation, what a joke! unfortunately I can't post the pict from those disgusting noodles

She seems like a very nice lady but the food wasn’t all that. She talks a lot and tries to distract you from how much u are going to spend on the food. She makes u pay extra for wasabi and ginger and soy sauce when it’s free at any other place you go. Which give fresher food than this place. She charges you more for spicy and crunch on the sushi and doesn’t tel you. The sushi wasn’t even that good for it to be that much. We payed 80 bucks for only six rolls and one water bottle is 4 bucks. Me and my family were rlly disappointed and we just want some good sushi. 🥲

Worse sushi place I have even been to. Overpriced for no good reason. The sushi had more rice to fish portion, felt like I ordered just some plain white rice rolled up. The “homemade” soy sauce is not home made. You get a very little portion of wasabi. For the overpriced food you would expect a nice dish to be served to match the price. “Momma Bento” talks way too much, over rates her food I. Order to distract you from the awful foos she is about to serve you. All this unneeded/unwanted talk. There is nothing fresh in this place. With the way she talked up her sushi, I was expecting something amazing… but no, very disappointed we didn’t even finish our sushi and went on to get Taco Bell. On the way out I wasn’t sure if to laugh or be mad of the rip off. Save yourself and your money, it is not worth it.
