a fantastic fantastic meal! first off, the restaurant has a very cozy, calm atmosphere, and our server was very sweet and attentive. second, the quality and presentation of the food was the best i've ever had at a sushi restaurant. we got the chef's island, and the sashimi and maki were of superb quality – the fish was fresh, flavorful, and honestly very beautiful too. some bites had a hint of yuzu, while other had real wasabi, bringing an even deeper depth to the flavor. the grilled salmon was like eating fish butter: soft, fatty, and deeply flavorful.
all in all an amazing experience! kudos to the chefs and the sweet server!

A cozy spot :) Sushi was delicious! One of the best places I've been to in the DMV area. Got the sashimi combo B and every piece was fantastic and different 🤩
Staff are very friendly, especially at the sushi bar. Really appreciated the free apps while waiting, and I didn't even have a long wait.
Presentation is very nice as well. Will definitely be returning to try some of the rolls and other dishes!

Can we talk about how out of this world this Sushi is? 100/10. The quality .. SUPERB. 3/5 of the rolls pictured were $5-7 … yes you read that correctly 5-7 bucks .. in this economy while maintaining this level of quality?! I will NEVER visit another sushi spot again. This will most def be my go to from now on. Make sure you order the seared tuna, baked and volcano roll, they were the star of the show ✨

One of the best meal experiences of my life. I seldom leave reviews but this is the second best sushi restaurant I've ever been to (second only to SUGARFISH in Los Angeles and New York City). The quality of everything from the rice to fish to Wasabi to mochi was phenomenal. They gave a bunch of free items as well, great presentation. I regret ever eating sushi anywhere else in the DMV. And reasonably priced to boot!

Best sushi in northern Virginia. I went to many different omakase around US but wow sushi combo I ordered was high quality. I would go again… I know it’s bit pricy than other places but this place is so good… but they gotta hire more server… 1 server running whole restaurant but they have 4 sushi chef lol.

First time trying this place. Had been dying to for quite some time and…..This was by far one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had, including internationally in some very remote places.
A sorry would’ve been nice…instead we had a woman, who appeared to be the manager, yelling (not angry, just loud) when talking, which was to every customer walking in and leaving and the chefs. Waiting 15 minutes for a few items that she forgot, only to remind her and still taking another 5 minutes because she forgot again. Her walking by and just grabbing items without even taking a second to ask if we wanted to order more, or want our waters refreshed that sat there empty for 10 minutes.
We saw our food sitting there waiting to be given to us for over 10 minutes for one item, and others were over 15-20 minutes. I’ve never seen a place so disorganized for a Friday night rush. The food tasted good for the most part. One of the dishes we waited on had tempura shrimp and when I got it, became soggy.
She just appeared to be way in over her head and underwater and needed help…seemed to be nice but was very rushed and therefore came off as rude. Such a shame. I wish the lady had slowed down, because she was running around like her head was cut off and constantly making mistakes. Hopefully they don’t let that happen ever again.

Update: added new photos. What happened to the soy sauce is sooo sweet. 😆 Otherwise still friendly staff and service and good Sushi
I 💕 love the Crispy Nori appetizer but my hubby thinks is too 🥵 spicy for him. So if you can't handle spicy don't order it. Me I could eat that all day long 😋 For entree, we got Chef's Island just the presentation itself is worth it 😁 and I love they also have the cooked 🐟 fish too. Warning it doesn't come with rice 🍚 so judge for yourself if you need one, we were ok without it. I believe the sashimi selection changes and we got a mix of toro which we 💕 love, all very fresh. For dessert we got Affogato, my favorite espresso ☕ ice cream and with a waffle stick. Yummy we are trying to come back for omakase, available only during weekdays evening.

I visited this spot for the first time for my nephew's birthday. This is the best sushi I've had in DC. Everything on the menu is on another level. The freshness of the fish is evident from the first bite. Highly recommend the chef's island. The sea bream was also fantastic. The quaint ambience and dedicated staff makes this my new favorite sushi spot. It really is phenomenal.

My family has visited Café Ile three times now, and each experience has been delightful. We absolutely love the salmon belly-it’s incredibly fresh and tender every time. The signature roll combo, dynamiter roll, and protein roll are also standout dishes that we consistently enjoy. On top of the great food, we were pleasantly surprised to receive complimentary appetizers and dessert. The service has always been excellent, making Café Ile a favorite spot for us. Highly recommend!

Cafe Ile is so impressive! This has become our favorite sushi restaurant in the DMV area. The team at Cafe Ile is always friendly and accommodating - even during peak rush hours, and the food is consistently excellent. While some specialty rolls might be slightly more expensive than similar rolls at other local sushi spots, Cafe Ile's quality far exceeds that of its competitors. They also feature delicious appetizers, and a solid wine menu.

Food is simply delicious and the free appetizer was just as good as the main food itself. The food arrived late and they were extremely generous and gave me 2 more entrees. As for the food, no complaints! It’s was so good. The sushi was fresh the salmon was soft and fish was just awesome. The platter that the food came on was a black stone ish and made it look very stylish. Amazing food and good price. I could tell they put a lot of effort in if. Definitely coming back again. Only thing bad is that you can’t give 10 stars

Wow this new place really blew me away. I am very picky with my sushi, and the fish here is tender and flavorful. Unlike many places which clearly have frozen their fish. Sashimi combo A was a great value for lunch, and I would come here again in a heartbeat.

Cafe Ile: A Sushi Haven!!!
At Cafe Ile, cleanliness is paramount, ensuring a dining environment as immaculate as their sushi. The food is exceptional, with standout rolls like the vibrant Spicy Tuna Roll and the diverse sushi plate delighting the senses. Service is top-notch, with staff providing knowledgeable and prompt attention. In short, Cafe Ile offers a sushi experience that’s clean, delicious, and served with excellence.

I was eager to try this cafe's omakase option, but the $400 meal for three fell short of expectations. The meal began promisingly with a fluffy egg appetizer, but the servers seemed unsure about the dishes and the number of courses. We were told seven courses, but surprisingly ended up with 10 or 12. The dishes were served haphazardly, with our favorites arriving when we were too full to enjoy them.
If you visit, I'd recommend ordering a la carte instead of the omakase. The staff's lack of knowledge about the dishes was disappointing, considering the price. The dessert situation was also confusing, with coffee served despite my dislike for it and only two desserts for three of us. I won't be returning to this non-Japanese owned sushi place anytime soon due to these issues.

I had to create an account to make sure I could write a review for this place it was that good. Food - incredible, ambiance - amazing, people working there - couldn’t be nicer, I felt like I drifted off on a sushi boat and went to Heaven it was that good. I’m upset that anyone would leave less than 5 starts and am going to have to go find the reviews who didn’t. Will be back soon for more!

The servers here are nice and the sushi here is fresh and prepared well. The sushi boat was great value for the amount (split 4-ways with other appetizers). The food comes a little slowly because there were only 2 chefs working and it’s a small restaurant so try to get a reservation if you can

I went to this establishment a few weeks ago with my husband and ordered the chef’s island and felt the sushi quality was good despite the mediocre service which is why I went ahead and reserved a table for my parents to treat them to a dinner. They tried to order the $140 chef’s island and the middle aged server kept suggesting to order something else and steering them away from it because it was “too much food” for them (who does that?). My mom thought it was strange but decided to get something else. They asked about dessert and the server told them they didn’t have any that day… and mentioned something about not having the ingredients that day (this is not verbatim but what my mom told me) which led my mom to believe they dissuaded against the chef’s island as well because they didn’t have the ingredients that day to make the whole thing. Overall they said the experience and service was too disappointing that they wouldn’t go back. My mom said the server never even asked about different drinks or appetizers. Not sure if it’s because my parents were korean also but my mom said the server was just super short and she left with a bad taste in her mouth (which is ironic). What’s the point of having things on the menu when you can’t even offer them to customers? This was also in line with my experience as I remember i had asked about a certain appetizer and it was unavailable that day. I feel like this place has an identity crisis and can’t decide whether to be a cafe or a legitimate sushi establishment. I won’t be going back anytime soon due to these collective experiences which is a shame because the sushi was good.

Everything was super fresh and the staff was gracious at handling a busy lunch time crowd.
I sat at the sushi bar since I was alone. Food came out quickly and I loved the baked roll with salmon and the yellowtail roll.
Where things fell apart for me was the volcano roll. Even though the description listed spring mix, it was not at all what I expected. Does this image look like a volcano roll you’ve ever seen anywhere before? I’m gonna take the L on this and not blame them. But they could warn people that it’s an atypical presentation.
The good thing is I was full so it didn’t really matter because I couldn’t eat anymore.
Will def be back again and order only 2 rolls 😁

What a secret gem! Came here for a quick lunch and do some work on my laptop. Was seated next to an outlet so I could plug in my computer ( I always appreciate places that have an outlet so I can have lunch and still have some work done). I ordered scallops crudi and sashimi combo and… OMG! The quality of the fish was outstanding, the presentation was impeccable, each bite revealed a perfect balance of tangy citrus, sweetness from mango and the spiciness of the wasabi, blending seamlessly to create a harmonious flavor. Last but not least, the service was perfect: kind, attentive and prompt. Definitely coming back :)

I recently dined at Ile in McLean, VA, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The food was excellent, with each dish beautifully presented on the plate, complete with a decorative flower that added a lovely touch.
We visited during lunchtime, so the restaurant wasn't very busy, which made for a peaceful atmosphere. While our server was polite, I did find myself needing to get her attention a couple of times. However, this minor inconvenience was overshadowed by the welcoming demeanor of the staff.
In summary, Ile offers delicious food with a pleasant ambiance, I would recommend giving it a try for a satisfying dining experience.

The miso soup, the seaweed salad and the sashimi were spectacularly fresh and delicious, telling me all I need to know about this place for myself. The mixed rice accompanying the sashimi was also completely delicious. And if it matters to you, the presentation of the bamboo to-go packaging was lovely, a testament to the attention with which this place obviously places on absolutely everything. The food is great. Sashimi’s fresh, cut nicely with warm temperature, rice’s good too. Presentation of the good’s nice.
However, servers’ are very rude. Passive aggressively rushing you to order and pay. We pick this place to catch up with friend who have not seen for years. But they kept rushing us to pay so we have to leave immediately. Also when asked about the food, the server did not seem to know what’s in the salad. Just overall very poor service you would not expect from restaurant with this price range.

First off - the food - the food was amazing. It is by far one of the best Sushi I've had in years at this price range. However I give this place only two stars because of the service. We went there on a Sunday afternoon and this middle-age female staffer, who appeared to be both the hall manager and a server, was extremely ill-mannered. The server was a Korean speaker, and I happen to speak the language too. All throughout my stay, she was very rude to her kitchen staff and sounded even hysterical. I felt bad that I understood Korean and wanted to finish the meal as soon as possible and get out of the place as quickly as possible because I was embarrassed and felt really bad for the other staffers she was talking down to. Who says people go to restaurants only for food, especially to a higher-priced place like this one? I just could not relax at all while I was eating. The server needs to understand the basics of the hospitality business. Sadly, I will not go back to this place again to taste this high quality sushi until I know that she conducts herself more professionally or is no longer with the establishment. Again, a restaurant serves more than just food.

We explored six different sushi places over the past couple of months, and Cafe Ile stood out as the best in terms of service and food quality in the Tysons Corner area. Every take out order includes a delicious seaweed salad and edamame. I appreciate the attention to decorating, even for takeout orders. This is place for real foodies, believe me, you will appreciate rice texture and salmon belly which melts in your mouth.

The sushi was good but it took 45 minutes to get 9 orders of nigiri, 1 order of sashimi, and one hand roll. The servers were nice enough to move us from our original seat since the table next to us was talking up a storm. Overall I’d say the experience was alright, and the sushi was decent. I wouldn’t come as often though if the food would take this long again.

We ordered the Sashimi Combo (I can’t remember which one), Baked Roll, Three Amigo Roll, Tuna/Avocado Roll, and Yellowtail Roll. I really like how they give a small appetizer, on the house, which consists of edamame, octopus and seaweed salad.
I’ve gotten take out from Ile Cafe twice now and both times I have gone to pick up my food, I’ve gotten great service. The sushi chefs and waitresses are very friendly. The sushi/sashimi pieces were fresh, rice to fish proportions were good, and presentation was on point! I love sushi and get it all the time but I have never gotten Takikomi gohan before and I was pleasantly surprised. The rice had a citrusy taste that went really well with the seaweed and fish. Overall great food and service - I will be back again!

Writing this review with mixed feelings as our overall experience was not great and not sure if that night someone called out and they were understaffed.
1) our reservation was at 7pm and it took them almost 30min to come and take our order. I believe only 1 person was taking orders.
2) mistakes on the menu. There are 2 eel combos with the same description but one is $34 and another one is $30. They did explain it was a mistake and there is a difference between two combos. Then there was interesting sake pricing. There is a small bottle of 300ml and 600ml but for the price of large bottle you can buy 3 small ones so we pointed out that it makes sense to buy smaller bottles instead of big one but I am not sure if they understood that. The lady looked confused about that.
3) poor communication about the wait time. We never got any heads ups about the wait time. They took our order around 7:30pm and our food arrived almost 50min later. They gave us a complimentary dish and apologized for the wait but I definitely would appreciate a heads up.
The cafe was pretty busy and we saw many people ordered for to go. It looked like to go orders were prioritized over ours. We had 3 people at the table and ordered 3 combos. Each combo was delicious and we thought the fish quality is really great. The cafe is small but cozy and I would like to return but only if the wait time is not as bad as we had it during our visit.

This is just the best place, fresh fish, large portions, wonderful employees and a pleasant atmosphere, I fell in love, just look at the amount of fish in the photo, I looked at the comments on this place before ordering and I didn’t believe that so many people wrote that this place is 100 out of 10, I will recommend this place to friends, family and colleagues, they helped me believe that there are good tasty sushi rolls in the area that do not cost millions, definitely gonna comeback to try new things

I don't usually leave reviews and I am not a huge sushi fan however I was shocked at this place! Firstly the atmosphere is beautiful and elegantly aesthetic! The service was very welcoming and the food itself was top tier! I cannot express how impressed I was that I just stumbled upon this place online. I will definitely be back!

Food, service and atmosphere was great. Great place to go on a date. The chawanmushi was nice and silky and the sushi we ordered was delicious. Nice quality!
A negative of this place would be the parking options, only two spots in front and then if they are taken you would have to drive around the park in the back lot.

Had a dinner here. Loving this gem. Food, service and ambiance were all 5 stars for me. Staffs were attentive and knowledgeable. We ordered Sauté calamari, crispy nori for appetizers. Sashimi and Sushi Combo, for dessert we had creme brûlée and pecan tart. All were delicious. So enjoy the pictures and stop by if you’re in town.

Great value sushi in the Greensboro area. While the food quality isn’t top notch (It’s not Sushi Taro,) it’s pretty decent and for the price you pay, it’s totally worth a visit if you don’t want to drive all the way to DC.
Service could be a little slow due to two staff serving all tables, but they are friendly and did their best to deliver the best service.
The atmosphere is a bit too crowded for my taste, but if you’re looking for a spot for sake and sushis, it’s not a bad option in Tysons.

During my time in New York, I had the opportunity to explore numerous sushi establishments. I ventured into several omakase restaurants, each offering its own unique experience. One particular gem that stood out was nestled in Union Square, eventually earning a prestigious Michelin star.
Upon relocating to Virginia and frequently dining in both Virginia and DC, I undertook a quest to discover exceptional dining venues. Among these experiences, none have come close to the quality of sushi found at Cafe Ile. The sushi served there is unparalleled, every piece dissolves upon contact with the palate, crafting a symphony of flavors that's nothing short of perfection.
While I initially hesitated to share my impressions in fear of this hidden treasure becoming too popular to secure a reservation, I find myself compelled to finally share my thoughts after numerous visits. For those residing in the vicinity of Northern Virginia, embarking on a culinary journey at this establishment is an absolute must.

I know what you're probably thinking; "It has Cafe in the name of a sushi restaurant. How good can the sushi actually be?" My friend, the Sushi here is next level. If you enjoy cute family operated restaurants serving unique and delicious appetizers and entrees, look no further than Cafe ile. Fish is fresh. Service felt like I was dining with them for years and they knew me and my family personally. Prices are reasonable. Loved every aspect of my dinner. Truly a gem at the Boro.

This place is nicely decorated. The service was very good. We ordered sashimi combo and caterpillar roll. Both tasted good but the sashimi portion was small for the price. We may go back if we are in the area and feel like having sushi but we won’t go out of our way to get there.

One of my favorite sushi restaurants in the area. Grateful they are in walking distance of the Boro. Always gracious, beautifully curated, and delicious.

We were looking for a quick bite to eat this evening and found Cafe Ile on Yelp. They opened 7 months ago and are located just across from the Boro. The restaurant is clean and inviting. The service phenomenal and everyone was really friendly. Their table service was great. They were very attentive and cleared dishes promptly to make room for more, topped off drinks, and regularly checked in to see if we were happy with each dish. Overall, it was a lovely experience and their presentation for each dish is on point.
We started with the spicy sashimi salad. I was so excited to eat it I forgot to get a photo of it. Wow, it's large and there is a lot of quality sashimi. The dressing was a little tangy and spicy. The spice wasn't overpowering. My husband isn't big on spice and and he loved it.
Next we ordered the tuna tadaki. The tuna was perfectly seared with jalapeño dressing. On top of the tuna was a fruity combo of what I think is mango and onion. It added the perfect balance and paired well with the tuna.
The chef also brought us tuna with jalapeño, and cilantro. It was very tasty.
For our main we shared the sushi combo with the roll. Wow, every piece of fish was so flavorful and fresh. There were about 10 pieces of nigiri total.
To end our meal we shared the affogato dessert. The espresso gave us a pick me up and we enjoyed the sweet treat with the ice cream.
We have spent a lot more at other places in the area and we both agree this is the best quality sushi we have found. They have Omakase by reservation Monday-Thursday at 5:30. We will 100% be back for that and more.

So, I had these high hopes for this cafe I found on Yelp. They had an omakase option that we went for, and boy, do I regret that $480 meal for three people. I should’ve known better to know that a cafe offered omakase . We started with a fluffy egg appetizer, which was good, but then things went downhill. The waiter said there were 7 courses, but it turned out to be 10, no wait, 12! Pace yourselves, folks! The confusion continued, and we ended up being too full to even touch the last course - they refused to pack it up! And the dessert fiasco - insisting I must have coffee with it, but I don't drink coffee! Only two desserts for three people, seriously? This place was a mess, and I won't be returning. The memory of this Korean-run Japanese sushi joint's poor service will haunt me forever! 😅

The host and server were very prompt and attentive. The chawanmushi was delicious and I enjoyed each piece in the sashimi combo.

Best price for value on sushi in the DMV! The quality of the fish was exceptional - on par with places like Sushi Taro. We ordered the yellowtail combo, sushi combo, scallop carpaccio, and the crispy nori with spicy salmon. I’d order it all again but I want to try everything on the menu too!
