Been over 2 years since I’ve last came here because the quality of the food just declined, however decided to give it a shot since it’s been a while and was pleasantly surprised, they definitely changed the menu up, lots of great items added to the menu like takoyaki, chicken skewers, new sushi appetizers, and rolls in general. Food was 4 out of 5, nice waitress, will be back for more! (Cost around $50 all you can eat for two people)

All you can eat, semi-inexpensive sushi. It’s not the most amazing in the world but it’s all you can eat, it has variety, and it’s very tasty. Would go again. Some of the best miso soup I’ve ever had, oddly enough.

Was the worst service at a restaurant we ever had. It was our first and will be our last time going there. We had several issues at the restaurant. The first issue was the waitress didn’t take some of ours drink orders to start. She then didn’t give us the right food menu. There are two different menus. One is for all you can eat and the other is for regular food menu. Two people in our family said they wanted all you can eat and wanted to get 3 crab sushi rolls and but brought out 24 crab rolls instead. Since they didn’t have the right menu it didn’t show that they come 8 rolls per order and you don’t order individual amounts. They refused to take the order back even though they made a mistake. Eventually, she said we can share all those sushi rolls because he couldn’t order more until it was all eaten. Turns out she wasn’t supposed to say that because that is against their all you can eat rules. I order another food order but looked the waitress in the eye right away and told her not to bring the order since I will be helping my friend eat his 24 sushi roll. The waitress still brought me the order even though I told her twice not to bring it. They charge you for throwing food away if you don’t eat it all if you are doing the all you can eat. They skipped taking order for my youngest and had to find the waitress to get her meal order. Then she was arguing with us about the bill at the end. Was trying to say two of us weren’t all you can eat orders. She then confirmed she had 6 of us down for all you can eat and we had to point out the 6 of us that did order it. We were a party of 12 people and got this very poor service. Wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. There are other great places in town to get sushi from.

The all you can eat was good.
I had the crab Rangoon, habachi shrimp, scallops. My son had a crunchy crab sushi roll and the same items I had.
Food was fresh. Not sure that I ate my money's worth.
Definitely a good go to if you are really hungry 😋

This was our first time here, and we were pleasantly surprised to see they had all you can eat menu. Of course, I had to try a little of everything, being it was the first time. Everything was really, and made fresh when you ordered. We will definitely go back so I can try even more items on the menu.

This is a very good option for those who love sushi. Has amazing deals (all you can eat) and the sushi quality was pretty good! The server was checking on us regularly making sure everything was ok. My boyfriend and I tried the miso soup, hot tea, strawberry lemonade and a total of 8 sushi roll orders. All of that for an amazing price. Very, very good atmosphere. Staff was friendly and the food tasted great. Go check this place out!!!

My rating isn't standard across the board at this restaurant. The sushi and hibachi was a solid 4 possibly even a 5. However, the service was lacking, I was there for over an hour and I never received a refill or was offered one. Also, service was extremely slow and unorganized. Orders were not taken at the same time they were staggered and the time between each order taken was long. One of our party members ordered and received their food before my order and my other party members food was ordered. So service and promptness is a 1 or a 2. Atmosphere is a 2. Also, the waitresses will hover over your table to see how much food is left on your plate without offering so much as a refill or asking if everything is okay. Also, I had to request the check 3 separate times before it was actually given to me.
TL/DR
Food: 4/5
Service: 1/2
Atmosphere:2

This is one I would skip. The food was very bland and while I'm not expecting world changing sushi from an AYCE place, this place lags behind other places I've been. The ramen was just a bowl of overcooked spaghetti noodles with a tiny piece of tonkatsu about 1x1 inch with no other seasonings or toppings. The staff was decently attentive and it isn't their fault the experience wasn't that great. The restaurant was clean though and the seating and music was nice.
Overall, I will not be coming back here just because for the $22 price tag I could get better sushi from a Kroger.

This is by far my favorite sushi place in all of harrisonburg. The servers work so hard, and they are very prompt with their service, even when there is so few of them. My personal favorites are the sunny roll and the sunset roll, but I’ve shared with my friends and never been disappointed in one of their rolls.

The food was good and quite a few options available. However, there definitely limits/rules for all you can eat which I’ve never seen that before. You can only order ONE appetizer and limited 5 nigiri at a time (which the server barely came after receiving our order). You can’t order more food unless you finish everything you currently have ( at least that’s what the lady had said to me since I didn’t eat every single one of my sushi rice that I cannot order more). I have been to many all you can eat and have never seen this many rules honestly.

Sushi Village is a great option for all-you-can-eat sushi in Harrisonburg. The sushi is always fresh tasting and delicious, and there are TONS of options. They also have a cheaper all-you-can-eat sushi lunch menu with less options than dinner! I recommend ordering a lot of sushi for your first course, as the second and following courses of sushi can take a a long time to prepare.

The hibachi is delicious and the sweet potato rolls are my fave! But if you’re a high maintenance costumer, I would choose a different spot. But this is my favorite spot in Harrisonburg for hibachi

Noisy waitresses, they like to stare at you 🙄
I had sashimi and it was plain taste and I had to ask for more ginger 🫚 twice, and they bother you if you finished with food so they can take it away . I was with a friend having conversation and still had some salad and soup left , waitress interrupted me and ask if i'm gonna finish this. They also start cleaning next table to us with cleaning sprays and it smelled strong 😝

My husband and I typically have a decent experience when we come, however I brought my newly 4 year old today with another friend and their 5 year old. I was charged $11 for my 4year old to eat 2 pieces of sushi and some edamame while my friends kid ate 2 full rolls, and 3 appetizers paid $0. This is extremely unfair that it is by height when kids who will not eat but a taste from their parents are then charged a full price but others who are shorter can eat multiple things for FREE. Very disappointing.

We have eaten here several times, but most recently, all four adults in our party were violently sick later that night with food poisoning. When I called to ask for a refund (basically we paid $25 per person to throw up our guts), the manager claimed she did not know how to issue one.

Food poisoning, party of 4! We dined here on a reasonably busy Saturday evening. All 4 members of our group ordered a variety of items from the sushi menu. Within 2-6 hours after our meal we all became violently ill. Do not recommend.

Best sushi spot in Harrisonburg, I don't even think it's a comparison. And the value for your buck is beyond belief. Granted, I've never had fresh sushi directly from Nippon, but I've definitely had my fair share of American sushi. The only place I've had that's better than this was on the coast in California: so that's saying something. The volcano roll, tuna lover, spicy tuna, and spicy tuna handroll are some of the tastiest I've ever had. I truly think it puts the other sushi restaurants in the area to shame.
My only complaints are: the takoyaki left a lot to be desired, not sure if they still sell it or not, but it was missing half the condiments that one would expect to be on takoyaki. Felt kind of low-effort.
My other complaint is that the chef put avocado on a roll that didn't have it listed as an ingredient and my wife has a major avocado intolerance. We managed to catch it after one piece and it wasn't a huge deal, but she did end up getting a little ill later that day. However, I've been to the restaurant 10+ times and that's the first occurrence of something like that happening. The food was so good that we really didn't care, but other Karen-types won't be as kind as us and stuff like that can really put the reputation of a restaurant in danger. Please be more careful!
But don't let this deter you from coming, as I said: it's the best you're gonna get in Harrisonburg. It's some of the best I've had, period, regardless of location. Give it a try if you haven't already!

I will start off saying I am kind of stuck posting this review. I really don’t know how to rate it. The food was amazing as well as our server! This isn’t my first time eating here but was my first time taking my girlfriends here. We got sat , got drinks, ordered some appetizers before our sushi. About 20 minutes in this couple comes in with their 2 children , one older , one younger. They’re seating 2 tables behind us. They ordered their drinks , and sushi. The mom got soup and salad. The soup and salad came out and they took maybe 2 bites, if that. Their daughter started choking on something. We keep hearing her choke and I jump up asking if they need help . She finally gets it up mostly but they go ahead and walk out because she is about to get sick. The host chase them down and say you need to pay, he said we will take it to go and tries to walk outside with their sick child. The host continues to scream you need to pay you need to pay. He said we will one moment. She chases him and keeps screaming so he comes and pays. Embarrassed he sits back down and waits. I go up to him make sure he’s okay and their daughter. Tell them I’m sorry she treated you that way etc. He gets his food and leaves . I felt so bad. We proceed to keep eating and finish our food. Our serves gives our checks and we pay. There’s 4 of us , 2 are on 1 check and the other 2 separate. We all pay & tip. We go to talk out and the host starts saying no one of you no pay one of you no pay. I said yes we did and we try to walk out again and she screaming no no let me check. I said we all paid and have receipts. She starts yelling at the other lady. And I walk around her and she said oh I sorry you paid. I understand with it being a college town maybe they deal with walk outs and I’m sorry. But harassing customers in the way they did is kind of sickening. I doubt we will ever be back even tho the food really is amazing

Sushi Village had a bit of a rough patch during covid but their speed, quality, and efficiency are back to being great. Definitely recommend if you want to try a variety of sushi for one price. I mean, it’s not the best of the best quality if you were buying each roll, but it’s pretty dang good for AYCE.

Please bear with me…this is kinda long.
I have gotten take out from here many many times in the past, and have never had issues. However, tonight was my first night dining in. Our waiter was super cool, and was on top of things, but he seemed to be semi new. Still, he was doing great. I’m not exactly sure what the mistake was that he made, but the woman in charge started yelling at him in the middle of the restaurant right next to our table. They then moved to the back where you could still hear her yelling. At this point, we were both done with our food and waiting to order more and for refills. We sat for about 15-20 minutes before she finally came back to the table and said that she would be taking over. We heard her tell him that he needed to leave, so we assumed that he had left and she was going to be taking care of us. He came back around the corner and she started yelling and berating him again. When we got our checks, she lied to our faces, and said that he had to leave super quickly due to an “emergency”. I don’t know exactly what happened but it completely ruined our experience to hear her screaming at somebody in the middle of the restaurant. It was completely unprofessional and downright rude. I don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon.

Prices are ridiculous. We were told $15 something for the all u can eat. When we received the bill for three of us it was $93.00 before the tip. We only ordered two things each which wasn’t much at all for that. We had 8 small pieces of sushi left and she charged us $8.00 for that as well. The food flavor was good but not that good. Hidden fees all over. When we showed her in small print .50 cents per roll left, she said no it’s $1.00 today. Not what was printed. I rarely give low reviews but this was crazy with the hidden fees and prices changes from what was advertised and written.

Sushi Village is a great place for sushi. I recommend getting the 'all you eat' option. You can eat as much as you want. You mostly order individual hand rolls, sashimi, or pieces of sushi. This is the best way to try a lot of different or new sushi. They also offer platters and regular rolls that are usually cut into six or eight pieces. They have a small selection of Japanese food that isn't sushi as well.
The service is pretty decent; however, there is a bit of a language barrier since most of the employees are probably Asian.

got crab rangoons and they barely had ANY crab in them; it was like eating chips with a pinch of cream cheese. We asked if we could get a replacement and the waitress picked the remaining rangoons straight off the plate with her hands, then proceeded to bring us more empty rangoons. My two friends and I split the price of those, and we each got a drink and one sushi roll; each of us ended up paying $22. None of us enjoyed our rolls and we felt sick afterwards. Total of almost $70 for 3 drinks, empty crab rangoons, and 3 disappointing sushi rolls. We vowed to never come back.

This place used to be amazing but honestly it’s gone so far down hill it hurts. Menus are scratched out with pen with hand written prices, bathrooms were in disarray, so many printed out rules at each table that are crudely taped to the walls, when asked for an alcoholic beverage they said “no alcohol” yet the drink menu still remains on the tables, when asked for egg in the ramen instead of pork…they also said “no egg” which obviously was on the menu as well. The service was just lazy, inattentive. Sadly, I definitely won’t be returning.

POOR & DISAPPOINTING food quality! Here I am craving sushi from a neighborhood favorite... I order my usual 5+ rolls and a chicken hibachi. A couple minutes pass and here is my food. At first glance, it's normal. But my instinct, told me to look at my food a bit closer. I ordered sushi, I did NOT order seaweed wrapped rice with a string of lobster; not to mention that my hibachi chicken was still clucking from the feathers it was still born with; chewy. One might ask if this is still my favorite sushi place, I leave you with this - "Time breaks more hearts than love" or in this case, "5 rolls of rice and a farm of clucking chickens on my plate broke my heart more times than love"

HORRIBLE DISRESPECTUL & RUDE SERVICE!
Do yourself a favor and FIND SOMEWHERE else to eat!!!. The chicken was undercooked and we sent it back. The hostess brought a raw piece of chicken from the kitchen to our table and compared that to the undercooked chicken and argued that the chicken was done. We left and will NEVER go to Sushi Village again.

The food is ok. The rice isn't seasoned but I think that's pretty much the norm unless you're at an upscale restaurant. The green tea from individual tea bags in a cup of hot water. The tempura is something I'd pass on. The broccoli looked and tasted like it was from frozen. The onion was a few rings from a half onion so pretty large. The miso soup tasted and looked like it was from a packet.
The tables were sticky and dry at the same time. It seemed like it needed a thorough cleaning.
The service was pretty good though. They were always in a rush so perhaps understaffed.

Notice anything?. That's right no sushi on the table. Waitress was extremely slow. We got there about One hour before close and she took forever to get to our table. They closed at 8:30 and stop taking orders at 8:10 without telling anyone in the restaurant. There were several tables that were extremely angry that they just said kitchen closed when they tried to order some more food 20.minutes before closing. It is supposed to be all you can eat but they make it so that it is difficult to order and then shut down the kitchen early because they didn't want to serve anymore. Unacceptable service and we will never come back to this restaurant again. On top of that, the sushi was mediocre at best.

-5/5. Awful. For starters, the tables are so dirty they are sticky. Went to slide cup across, it stuck and spilled, waitress just kept on walking. Took sanitizing gel and squirted on the table and wiped with a napkin- complete black! The flavor of the sushi- bland. All I tasted was the eel sauce. We got the all you can eat dinner menu. Very few options. They bring it out and sit it down, good luck knowing which one is yours. Got 1 refill right before we left of drink. The miso soup tasted like dirty dishwater. We had a few pieces left over and she stood at the table and said “ you need to eat more”. Look, $22 each, $5/2 sodas and they added $12 for 12 PIECES left on plate. Not rolls. Unbelievable. Will NEVER go back. Shushi King in Charlottesville is the best.

We were there for Valentine’s Day. First and definitely last ctime there. Service was fine. The problems were my husband is vegan and we have been to plenty of sushi places to know what he can eat. The fried rice cannot be made without egg because “it comes that way already made” which I guess means is not made fresh but maybe preordered or even frozen. The lo mein again made with egg already. So he ordeeed the vegetables hibachi with white rice only to come out and the vegetables were frozen. Not cold, but frozen!!! My daughter and I both had only one roll because they were not good at all. She also had a black hair in her salad.
I will NEVER go back there and I will not recommend this to anyone looking for good sushi or even good food period. Very disappointed.

Pretty good, and slightly cheaper than the other AYCE option you can get in Harrisonburg. It's about 21.99 currently for 1 adult at dinner time, and I believe it stated that it was 15.99 during lunchtime, which is a pretty good deal! No limit on the amount of food you order, as long as you finish it, and of course there is a fee if you do not finish! The volcano roll is super yummy, as well as the mars roll.

Great time, unlimited sushi, wish they would add more variety in the rolls but the menu is good.

Amazing food and service.

Food is good, staff usually fast...portions can be both too big and a bit small pending what you get

I used to come here often but small things like quality of the chicken, changing the salad dressing, taking vegetables out of the hibachi ,poor quality of the sushi (used to be my kids fav place to get sushi) have changed that. Many of the waitresses here are very rude and know nothing about customer courtesy. Also its not out of the ordinary to pull up only to find out that they are closed or takeout only during normal hours. I used to rate this 5 stars before the changes but it's really going down hill and for the price no longer worth it. Also if I go alone as a single parent with 4 children they charge a ridiculous 'gratuity charge' for our 'large party' 🤦♀️

Worst service in harrisonburg no refill,no napkins and no silverware.

Always a banger restaurant. The wait wasn't too long given they were super busy.

Decent price for all-you-can-eat. It isn't the best sushi in town, but it isn't the worst either.

The food made me physically Ill. I got hibachi shrimp and chicken. The shrimp was sour. Employee was very friendly at the front.

The food was good quality, my family loves sushi.
The only down side about this place was that when you get your receipt the add the tip with the total amount, it was just 5 of us, I didn't feel the need for that since it wasn't a big party or anything like that, once they bring my receipt back to sign, they ask for an additional tip, that's crazy they asked for 2 tips, it wasn't a high end restaurant or anything like it and the customer service was about average for them to ask for 2 big tips, since the lowest tip amount suggested was around $20. Make sure you check your receipt first.

This used to be my favorite sushi restaurant. First went back in 2018 and it was incredible. Now I've gotta say it is the worst sushi place around. They drastically reduced what they have to offer. I used to get the sushi nigiri with the all you can eat. Not offered anymore. Want hibachi steak? Not offered anymore. And whats more insulting is they INCREASED the all you can eat price. Find any other option because it's definitely not worth the rice they wanna call sushi.

I Don't Like the Place, if confused to order and is not all the food for buffet.

Very disappointed in service and quality of food. My friend started feeling ill, and although she had only eaten one crab rangoon and none of the chicken fried rice she ordered, she was charged over $12 ($6.50 for 3 crab rangoons and $6 for fried rice) instead of allowing my other friend and I to include her items in our all you can eat orders. The food is extremely mediocre. No filing in the crab rangoons. The spicy shrimp roll had a mushy texture like it was blended. The fried rice is bland and mushy. The sushi is all rice and the flavors are off. The yum yum sauce is thick and white like mayo. Spent over $70 for a very disappointing experience. Will never eat here again.

My overall experience wasn’t the greatest. I should’ve went with my instincts because this was a backup pick. This was our first and last time eating here. Everything on the menu is not “ALL YOU CAN EAT”. The meat portion in the rolls are very small. I ordered the Shaggy dog roll, their was more rice & cucumber than shrimp and crab. The spicy shrimp roll was very mushy. I felt like I settled. It was not worth the $140 spent. On top of that at 7:30 the kitchen closes so no more orders can be made. But the restaurant closes at 8:30.
Heads up: Gratuity is added automatically for five (even with kids)

I went here when they first opened years ago, wasn't a fan then, and still am not now. I don't eat Sushi, but I like the Hibachi. For the $22 you can't get steak, only chicken or Shrimp (which was not seasoned at all) The fried rice is not fried.........not sure what it is, but it is mushy and bland. The vegetable tempura was broccoli, sweet potato and onion (no zucchini or mushroom). The hibachi had little flavor and was chicken, broccoli and corn. Just not good at all! No onions, mushrooms or zucchini. It really was a big waste of money. My family had the sushi and said it was "ok", no Comparison to Hokkaido

Colored menu says "all you can eat" but if you order off that menu you will get charge per item. Only the little black and white menu is truly all you can eat but they wont tell you. Service is lacking.

They have limited there menu to a ridiculous point quality has dropped to a level that is not worth the visit and the service is almost non existent slow inattentive I would choose to go else where if looking for sushi most stuff is not included in the all you can eat anyways so your going to pay extra for many items usually included in a all you can eat menu

I have never had very memorable Sushi here. The Miso soup was very salty with no flavor. Check your bill closely. There are other sushi restaurants nearby that are much better.

I won't be going back! The waitress told my 11 yr. Old grandson to not eat when my daughter had ordered him French fries that he was eating. Very rude people!

Sushi options are mostly cooked sushi with alot of rice. Very little raw fish options. I liked the "all you can eat" option.

Worst sushi experience by far, for myself and my boyfriend. Terrible quality, weird pureéd fish substitute in my rolls. The spicy tuna roll was just some bright red concoction. We both struggled to force down the pieces on our plates. They give you clear disposable ramekins for your soy sauce which is fine, but they don't give you ginger or Wasabi with your sushi. The place was also overall not sanitary. Never again.

Terrible customer service. Waitress took forever to get to our table and made sure every other table was handled even with some being seated after us. The waitress also walked away after asking for our order and didn’t give me a chance to give her my order.

One of the most disappointing meals in a while. If you are looking to eat sushi rice only, then this is the place to be. Pictures clearly shows. Brought the concern to management and staff, all they responded with, this is special sushi. 🤦🏽♂️. I loved how they pretended to not see or understand they f'd up, rather kept telling us "it's special sushi". Management should come down to the NOVA area and take note of how proper sushi is. Feed your consumers proper sushi and you won't have to worry about people wasting food. Because what you are serving is lower than mediocre, your consumers are not finishing their meals or flushing it down the toilet. Will I be back? No, there are other deserving humble restaurants who actually appreciate customers.

Excellent food. The all you can eat option is worth it if you can eat enough. It was so tasty I certainly did! Service was good and I plan to go back for lunch in the future. You also have to try the miso soup. It was just the right thing to warm me up on a chilly day.

Accomplishs the goal of being an all you can eat sushi place. They have good sushi for a reasonable price, and have good appetizers.

This was the worst sushi I've ever had in my life. It was dry, and more fishy smelling than sushi fish should be. The clear soup tasted nothing like clear soup and was wayyy to salty to eat. My boyfriend and I can typically put away a bunch of sushi but not here.
