Great experience at Sushi Prince. Everyone is very friendly and they do a great job of greeting you hello and goodbye 💕 My boyfriend and I met here a couple years ago so it is a very intimate and sentimental place for us. We value the service and delicious rolls and nigiri. My only little dissatisfaction was the hot sake, it wasn't hot enough each time we ordered it. Next time I will just have to ask them to heat it longer. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience 🥰

Atmosphere is nice, service is very good.
It was our second experience with server Jen. She is so sweet and has knowledgeable about menu. She was patient with us, and recommended amazing rolls depending on our tastes. We are definitely coming back to have pleasant dinner. Also foods are fresh I totally suggested. Dynamite roll is the best.

Hey, the sashimi is super fresh, and the sushi is delicious! The miso soup is surprisingly not too salty, unlike most other Japanese restaurants. Just a heads up, the scallop shrimp grill takes a while, so if you're in a rush, maybe skip the grilled stuff. Oh, and the restaurant is pretty small, so it's a good idea to make a reservation.

We had lunch at this cozy Japanese restaurant, and the food was terrific! We started with squid tempura and then moved on to volcano rolls, miso ramen with salmon rolls, a Chirashi bowl, and a sashimi platter. Our sashimi was so fresh with no defrost taste that it melted in our mouths! The miso ramen had an excellent broth that complemented the noodles well, and the Chirashi was incredibly tasty. We appreciate attentive service from servers and plan to return for more delicious dishes.

Came on a Saturday 5 minutes after open; was somewhat surprised to be asked if we had reservations. The restaurant is pretty small (maybe fits 10-15 tables max) so plan accordingly. We ordered the Lunch Chirashi and a Bento Box.

The Chirashi sashimi/sushi was incredibly good. However, the bento box sides that weren't sushi (gyoza, tempura etc) were underwhelming. Stick to their rolls and sushi-only offerings and I'm sure you'll have a good experience! Prices are reasonable for sushi in the DMV.

EXCELLENT! A small, cozy restaurant with an excellent vibe. The food was spectacular. The service was great. Tried their hot sake--so tasty. The salmon and tuna sushi came with huge slabs of fish. Highly recommend calling for a reservation as this place is in high demand.

A cute tiny place but sushi was great. I was surprised at the quality of the sushi and really enjoyed the food. The service was also great and the lady who seemed like the owner was very friendly. She said this place has been 10 years, yet it’s still clean and lively. She also said she and her staff are really serious about their food. I could see that after tasting the food.
I saw some reviews pointing out how pricy the food was, but i think the price was relevant since it was really fresh with the great presentation. If you want a cheaper sushi, you will not get this quality and presentation.
Definitely recommend this place and will visit again soon.

We are regulars here but haven’t come in for a few months since we were out of the country but we came around lunch time today and the service was terrible. I miss the old servers, they were so sweet and attentive. They all knew us since we come pretty often. These new servers were super slow and I had to ask twice for more tea when my cup was empty. We also waited for the menu for a while after getting seated….. they also just throw the food in front of you without stating what it is. Because we get the same stuff everytime, I know what’s what but what if I didn’t?

Racist establishment! Will never go here again. Went to grab lunch by myself as one person and they refused to seat me and gave the obvious open table to the group who walked in AFTER me. Even though I had been already waiting for 10 minutes. Horrible service and that’s how they treat customers who have come here before and spent money. AVOID at all costs!!

Food quality can be inconsistent when it comes to freshness. The salmon in particular has been spoiled more than a couple times. When they do have fresh ingredients, the taste is great, along with the presentation. That all said, I sometimes make the farther drive to Momo in Alexandria for the consistency.

This is a very good sushi/Japanese restaurant. Everything I've ever had here has been fabulous. The food is good quality and prepared well. There are several varieties of sake available to choose from. The sushi chefs take pride in their work and are watchful. When my wife and I were there celebrating a milestone, they noticed our private celebration and sent over a treat, on the house, to commemorate our moment. It was very thoughtful and gives you an idea of the kind of excellence and attentive service you can expect. This a hidden gem.

The food is great, and I’m a frequent customer with no complaints about the service or quality. However, I recently noticed an issue with how tips are calculated. The bill is presented right in front of you, leaving little time to consider the tip amount. You’re asked to select a tip percentage on a machine that calculates tips based on the total amount, including tax. I believe tips should be calculated before tax, not after. Charging a tip on the tax amount seems misleading. The credit card machine can be customized by the owners, so if the intention is to include tax in the tip calculation, it feels deceptive. I’m happy to leave a tip for good service, but I don’t want to be misled about what I'm actually paying.

I went here for dinner for my Mother's Birthday. We are both new to Sushi and wanted to try this place out. We were seated right away upon arrival. Our server was named JJ, she was so helpful and friendly at helping us pick what sushi roll would be best for us. The food came out quick and the dynamite roll was very delicious. JJ was very attentive and kept checking on us. I'm definitely coming back and recommending to my friends and family!

Sushi Prince is excellent. We usually order the Chirashi or sashimi, and on our last visit, the salmon special recommended by the waitress was fantastic. The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and the service is warm. It’s a small spot, so be sure to make a reservation. I’ve also tried takeout, but like all sushi, it’s best enjoyed fresh on-site. Highly recommend.

Sushi Prince is OUT-STAN-DING. The service was high quality and the presentation of the appetizers and entree was impeccable.

I have been coming to Sushi Prince for 6 years and it is the BEST sushi in the DMV. I am grateful to live locally so I can frequently visit, but even if I did not, I would drive hours for the food. The service has always been absolutely exceptional. Chef & his team are so friendly and get your order out to you in such a timely manner. I had Jessica as a server today and she was fantastic, as well as every other server I’ve ever had on my trips to the restaurant. I’ve never left without feeling full & happy. The sushi is so fresh and outstanding EVERY SINGLE TIME. If you haven’t been to Sushi Prince, you’re missing out. And I wouldn’t believe any poor review on here for a second, it’s such a great place. I cannot fathom anyone saying otherwise. I have nothing but good things to say and will be back time & time again for as long as I live in Virginia. Best meal and best staff ever!!!!

This was my favorite sushi restaurant but poor service has degraded my review. Unfortunately experience staff being clearly more attentive to other tables and ignoring us. The only time staff were attentive was when it was time to pay. I'm not sure if the staff is bias to POC but based on the on my experience I'd say there is some bias at play. Due to that I can no longer recommend this place.

I came here after doing a lot of reviews on searching for the best spot to take my boyfriend for sushi in the dmv. Let me tell you it was absolutely amazing and was everything everyone was raving about. It’s a cute small intimate restaurant with home feels. The tea and sake were amazing we had the hot green tea and hot sake and it just paired perfectly with the sushi. We ordered the King platter and the quality of the fish was outstanding and so fresh the presentation and the knowledge our waitress had on each was so nice and she took a photo of us to remember this incredible experience which was so sweet. If you’re in Northern Virginia go to Sushi Prince it’s amazing. My only regret I didn’t order more Togo for late night snacks 😂🙊🙈

Sushi Prince has been my favorite spot since I discovered it not too long ago. Whenever I crave fresh sushi, it's my go-to place. However, my recent visit left me so disappointed.

After a tough day at work, I decided to treat myself to a comforting meal at Sushi Prince. Despite the DC traffic, I made it to the restaurant, eagerly anticipating a relaxing dining experience. However, upon arrival, I had a disheartening situation.

As I stood by the door, indicating that I was dining alone, the first server gestured for me to sit in a corner table. As I was about to sit down, another server came straight from the kitchen and asked if I was dining alone with a concerned expression. I confirmed, and she proceeded to inform me that I should wait for them to seat me next time. Quote “Next time, wait for us to seat you, okay?” with the high tone of voice like she’s really upset.

I was so confused and I asked if she meant I should wait to be seated. She confirmed, and I mentioned that the first server had directed me to the table. Then, she apologized, mentioning she had just returned from the back.

I believe it's essential not to judge others without certainty or witnessing the situation firsthand. Such incidents can greatly impact a customer's experience and tarnish the reputation of an otherwise enjoyable establishment.

I hope this feedback helps improve the customer experience at Sushi Prince, ensuring that all customer feel welcomed and valued.

Where do I begin?
Let me just say that this is by far the worst dining experience I have ever had in my life and I have been to 16 countries and tried all sorts of restaurants; from food trucks to 5+ stars.

The ordeal starts when we we ordered salads to share. My friend and I asked for an extra plate. The waitress kept throwing lame excuses about how they don't have enough plates. Then she mentioned that they can't provide normal size bowls for "sharing". I was a bit surprised and had to gaze over the kitchen to see shelves packed with all sizes of plates and bowls. I got up from my chair and headed to the guy standing by the kitchen and requested that I have a bowl because they obviously have enough on display. They finally responded to my seemingly impossible request and I was able to enjoy my forbidden shared salad. Did I say enjoy? Not for too long.
Twenty minutes after we were served, the waitress comes and asks us to pay because "system will be closed soon". We stared at each other in disbelief and tried to tell her politely that we are in the middle of eating which makes it inconvenient to start grabbing our purses and engage in the lengthy process of splitting the checks. She seemed very persistent that we pay right away. We chose to ignore the ridiculous request in attempt to enjoy what's left of the food. Five minutes later, comes another waiter with the most unbelievable request " The shop will close now, would you like boxes for your food?".
At that point we realized that we are not dealing with a normal business and decided to stand our grounds. I will leave it to the reader's imagination to figure out how the night ended. Suffice it to say that we heard the *F* word loud and clear from the impolite waiter. One of my friends tried to talk to the owner in a calm way but it seems that he was no different than his staff. The only funny thing was the spectacle of the owner kicking the air with his foot and mumbling "I want to go home". That's his excuse for kicking customers out 15 minutes after official closing time.
To add insult to injury, my friend who paid $50 in cash for a $38 check didn't get the remainder of her money. The waiter chose to consider the rest as his gratuity. She had to raise her voice and demand she gets the money back.

Bottom line: this place is run by a bunch of rude, impolite thieves who throw the *F* bomb in the face of their customers.
Oh, and the sushi is mediocre. It was a mistake to try this place instead of our usual; Sushi Yama on Maple Ave.

If you value yourself as a customer who deserves minimum level of decency, then don't come near this dirt hole.

The rolls are definitely unique, the prices are high, and also not as large in diameter as some other similar places, but it's still a solid 5/5. If you enjoy sushi, you'll love this place.

Second time here. Sushi is terrible! Shrimp tempura: shrimp was hard, rubbery, not good. We also had spicy tuna roll: just ok; spicy salmon roll: so fishy, bad. The spicy miso ramen is decent. Not worth the price. There’s better places around; definitely not going back.

A perfect little sushi spot for you and a loved one to visit. All of the sushi is tasty and fairly priced. The servers are very attentive and always ready to assist. We got the 'Queen' which is a sushi spread for two and each piece was fantastic. This also came with a salad and miso soup. Can't wait to go back!!!

My new OTB favorite! (outside the Beltway). As a San Francisco native, reminds me well of the fresh fish quality (sashimi and Chirashi) with the menu variety and culinary nuance befitting a sushi chef trained in Japan. Gochiso-sama!!!
Service is excellent being attentive, non-intrusive, and anticipatory in that uniquely Japanese manner.
Atmosphere is okay. The space is small at about 30 seats.

Me and my bestie came here after seeing the good reviews, and it totally lives up to the hype. The small restaurant has great ambiance; it's well lit, has cute decor, and the music was at a comfortable volume. We took a good look at the menu but were indecisive, so we ended up asking our server Jen for her input on which rolls were good/popular. She was incredibly kind, charming, and patient, circling a few rolls for us to think about before she came back to take our order. Our favorite rolls were the Eunice (reccomended by Jen) and the Volcano. The food was amazing, and we'll definitely be returning sometime for more of their specialty rolls!

This is a Korean owned sushi restaurant, their fish is very fresh, theres no doubt that they have good supply on fish meats.
Theres some sushi in the menu you must try.
If its your first time ever try sushi, i recommend get a volcano roll and catapiller sushi rolls, one is spicy another one is not spicy and tasty.

My husband and I visited Sushi Prince while in town, drawn in by the promising reviews. However, our experience fell far short of expectations. Despite arriving before another couple, we were seated first but left unnoticed. The couple who came in after us received their meal promptly, while we weren't even offered water.The lack of warmth from the staff was palpable, and the neglect we experienced left us with no choice but to leave without placing an order. It's disheartening when anticipation turns into disappointment. Hopefully, the management takes note of such instances to improve their service for future patrons.

Tried this place for the first time last night, and my overall experience was personally not great.

There was gristle in one of the rolls with steak so couldn't really eat what steak was in there since it was a small amount of steak in proportion to what was in the rest of the roll - Country Fried Steak Roll. I'd say 1 of the 3 rolls were quality rolls. Food also made me very sick soon after leaving, pretty sure it's food poisoning. All of the symptoms are there...

Service was good until after they brought out all the food. It was like we didn't exist anymore and took awhile for them to even stop by the table. I would have understood if they were busy, but it was only 3 tables at this point in time and they were at the end of the sushi bar socializing and not paying attention. The restaurant is very small and cramped in space which I also wasnt a fan of. It would be more enjoyable if you weren't cramped so close next to another table.

Presentation plates the sushi come on are cool, but in my personal opinion, not worth going back another time. Not worth risking the sushi here making me sick again either. Still do not feel great today. Do not recommend.

This is officially one of my new favorite sushi restaurants in Fairfax. We ordered the Crown Royal, Master Yoda, and Geisha rolls, and they were all delicious. The price of rolls is on the expensive side for this area, but we loved the food and will be back.

Sushi prince is a very delicious sashimi place with lots of options. The best platter option is the queen platter! Pretty decent sushi for the price! Definitely a good contender for sushi places in NOVA.

Pretty great sushi in the area. I especially like the one with cooked scallop. On site seating is a problem due to it being a small restaurant, so calling ahead to reserve tables is a must.

One of the best sushi restaurants I’ve ever been to. Very fresh. Would recommend making a reservation as they are always busy and the dining room is small. Must try the Geisha, Saigon, and crown royal rolls.

Went there with 4 other friends for a birthday celebration and it was a pleasant surprise. It was right everything was opening up post Covid and I have had plenty of poor customer service and high pricing experiences before that to not have high hopes. However Sushi Prince still delivered very good service and excellent tasting dishes. I ordered a Sirachi bowl along with two other friends and one friend order a shrimp Bento box and the last one ordered the chicken Bento box. We were there on Saturday at noon so we were just in time for lunch special. Everything was very tasty and reasonably priced. The restaurant was beautiful inside and very clean, including the bathroom. And the waitress was very attentive. I definitely recommend this place and will be back as a customer soon!

Sushi Prince is easily the best Japanese food in the metro DC Area IMHO. It compares well to sushi I have had in the Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo. The owners and staff are always super friendly. I have eaten here regularly for over 10 years; tried everything on the menu, and I have never experienced a miscue. The specialty rolls are incredible. Try the Monkey Brains appetizer (hint, it's not monkey brains)!

This place has some of our favorite rolls ever and we go pretty much every week and spend around $200 for the two of us, or we order from them. The reason i was disappointed last time is because we got charged $8 extra for 8 pieces of salmon to be seared and that was not right. considering we spend so much money there every week i expected a better service and not extra charges. When i brought it to the waitress attention she just said oh sorry about that but still charged us. it was very disappointing.

I had an amazing experience at Sushi Prince restaurant . The sushi was fresh and delicious, and the staff was extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful! The atmosphere was peaceful and calming. Everything was presented beautifully and I felt like I was in a little slice of paradise. Highly recommend this restaurant!

I have been trying out as many sushi places in the area as I can since I moved here for school a few years ago. There is definitely a fair amount of good sushi in the area but Sushi Prince is one of the absolute best I have been to. The restaurant itself is very cute, the service is great, and the fish is incredibly fresh!

This our all time favorite sushi place. It’s like a hole-in-a-wall kinda small place but the servers, chefs, mood and overall cleanliness, taste of the food, appearance, and just literally everything about this place is AMAZING! You have to try it if you’re in the area. Unfortunately, we moved to Fredericksburg so it’s kinda far now but every time we are in the area we always come visit. I hope they open more branches.

I have finally found my perfect sushi spot. After trying different places in the area for 3 years, this is it... The freshest, most delicious sushi and top of it, gorgeous presentation! Not cheap, but it shows and you get what you pay for. The rice was all perfectly cooked, fish all cut generously and we kept commenting "this is the best [unagi/masago/hamachi/etc/etc] I've ever had!" I swear even the green tea and ginger were special. And that's not to mention the service - our server was kind (even to our 2 year old sprawled on the bench) and extremely attentive. I love the cozy feel too - my dad who grew up in Japan said it felt more authentic - but for that reason probably best to make reservations. I'm already plotting my next one.

A cute tiny place but sushi was great. I was surprised at the quality of the sushi and really enjoyed the food. The service was also great and the lady who seemed like the owner was very friendly. She said this place has been 10 years, yet it’s still clean and lively. She also said she and her staff are really serious about their food. I could see that after tasting the food.
I saw some reviews pointing out how pricy the food was, but i think the price was relevant since it was really fresh with the great presentation. If you want a cheaper sushi, you will not get this quality and presentation.
Definitely recommend this place and will visit again soon.

Realized when recounting a story about this place that I never reviewed it, and I feel compelled to report our treatment. We arrived late to the restaurant about 45 minutes before closing and were told after this one table (the hostess pointed to it) was done, we would be seated there. About 10 minutes later, a family with two small children came up and asked to be seated, they were just waiting along with us. When that table came open, the hostess came in and sat the family. In front of us who had been waiting and were told the table was ours. 2 The hostess apologized but couldn’t seem to justify it. She asked if instead we just wanted to order out since they didn’t think they could seat us by close. They didn’t have a reservation, they didn’t call ahead, there was no logical reason to seat them first. So why? They were a Japanese family and I am white and my wife is Filipino.

A little pricey and service is ok. Quality is decent but not my favorite place. We ordered the Burrito Bonito, Japanese Lasagna, Carbonara Roll and we also ordered some Nigiri sushi. We ordered Eel, Mackarel and surf clam. For our appetizer, we ordered the dragon taco.

The dragon taco was kind of disappointing. It wasn't a taco, mote like a dragon tortilla roll. It was pretty decent in flavor but not sure if it was worth the price.

The Japanese Lasagna was good but came with 6 pieces. The Carbonara Roll was delicious and I like how different it was. The Burrito Bonito wasn't quite like a Burrito but it was pretty good. The Nigiri was good but overall we weren't really full so also ordered the Chirashi bowl which was good.

Overall, ok service and good quality but pricey.

Made a revelation for two. Walk-In is not recommended. It's pretty hard to get a table due to the size of the restaurant. The serving size is more generous than the places I have been to. I got a salmon bento box and my friend ordered Sushi & Udong, it was very good 👍

This is the BEST sushi restaurant in all of the Fairfax area. It is extremely fresh and the options seem limitless. Not only is there sushi, hence the name, but there is a v variety of comfort foods such as miso soup, noodles, and a few appetizers. This places vibe is really creative and makes you feel like you’re anywhere else but a sushi shop. I highly recommend you come if you enjoy sushi, and trust me, you’ll be coming back.

너무 좋은 평가(리뷰)만 있어서 과연 그럴까라는 생각도 들었다. 식당의 규모는 테이블 7~8개 정도였던 걸로 기억한다. 무엇보다 서비스와 주문한 음식들 모두 맛있었다! 굿~^^

가격은 다른 곳보다 조금 더 비쌌다.^^;;;

Tried lunch Jirash - presentation is beautiful. Sashimi quality was not bad.
They used a lot of ingredient in Jirash and most of them were really sweet which made entire Jirash flavor become too sweet rather than simple with a bit of savory sweetness.
Salad was watery which diluted the taste.
I won’t order Jirash in the future.

Incredibly delicious food, beautiful atmosphere, attentive servers. I can't get over how delicious the Alaskan roll was. The salmon was actually tender, which has almost never been my experience with cheap, chewy, salmon sushi. I walked in and my order was ready within 15 min. They said it would have been faster if just ordering cold sushi. And there is so much variety! 10/10

You must try the chirasi bowl & shrimp tempura especially the chirasi bowl...different level . Only complaint is the space is too limited & the seat & chair is not comfortable. They are always busy so reservation is a must!

Food is great, I used to go here all the time.
I just ordered over the phone and MADE SURE we ordered a queen, not a prince set, but I guess they heard otherwise. No way I confused queen from prince (we ALWAYS order queen). No apologies were given and they just kept telling me that they confirmed it was prince. I thought their customer service was good but not anymore. Since they have so many customers they wouldn't really care but they just lost a customer.

This is a small, super cozy place where the staff are the sweetest. The beef tataki nigiri is something I haven't seen elsewhere that's delicious, as are their kushiyaki skewers!

Absolutely loved this sushi restaurant! Went here with some friends of mine for dinner and we absolutely enjoyed ourselves. The food, service and staff all made our experience here great.

The food: I try to get a variety of classic rolls whenever I go to a sushi joint, so I can taste the quality of fish and I can say I was not disappointed! I ordered the tuna, salmon, yellowtail rolls and they were all delicious. The quality of fish was amazing, I enjoyed every piece I had. I also had a piece of eel and that was one of the stars. The eel had a nice quality to it and it almost melted in your mouth. I tried some other specialty rolls as well, and they were all fantastic. Can't really go wrong with any of them.

The Service: The service was great! The staff were friendly, the restaurant was nice and the overall ambiance was great. The restaurant was clean and of course, the rolls were made to order. They had other types of food in the menu as well, but I was there for the sushi. To order, you had to fill out a sheet with how many rolls you want, and that's it!

Overall, 5/5! I'll be coming back when I need to fulfill my sushi cravings!

Sushi Prince is always top quality and the rolls are always delicious. I have eaten every roll on their menu over about a dozen visits and they are all delicious. Sushi Prince is always among my top three sushi places in the NoVA area and is a lovely place to take someone special. I frequently get takeout myself but it's usually fairly packed on a Friday evening. When ordering online on a Friday evening, I only need to wait around an hour or so before my order is ready.

I placed an online order. Waited for 90 minutes like the site said. Didn’t hear anything from the restaurant and they weren’t answering the phone so I drove over only to find out they were closed. Why do you have a voicemail telling customers to place an online order? Shouldn’t you put on the voicemail that you are closed???

GREAT sushi. Moderate pricing but quality is fantastic. Staff was very helpful and friendly and got me change personally out of her own purse since the cash drawer did not have change. My partner raved about his salmon avocado rolls, as he doesn't venture much outside his comfort zone he tries them st every sushi place we go to and said it was fantastic. Definitely our new go to sushi spot.

Great quality sushi! The seafood is quite fresh and the rice is cooked correctlyfor sush. The portion is just right. The place is small that can hold about 20 people. So they do want customers to make reservations, particularly, during those busy peak times. They also offer take-out options for those who are concerned with COVID-19. Their staffs wear masks.
