M Sushi is a full-service all you can eat Japanese restaurant. We provide our customers quality food for a flat price.
M Sushi offers a mixed dining experience that balances great food with a few notable drawbacks. The staff are excellent—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, contributing positively to the overall atmosphere. However, the ambiance leaves much to be desired, as the place looks and smells old, which detracts from the dining experience.
The sushi here is a highlight; fresh and expertly prepared, it's a delight for sushi lovers. The Teriyaki Steak is also commendable, cooked to perfection with a nice balance of flavors. On the other hand, the Hibachi Steak falls short, being excessively salty. The gyoza, while decent, lacked the distinctive flavor of sesame oil, which would have elevated the dish.
The sashimi offerings are a mixed bag: the Tuna Sashimi needs improvement as it often arrives still partially frozen, while the Salmon Sashimi hits the mark with its freshness and ideal texture.
One significant issue we encountered was during billing. We went there for lunch but were charged the dinner rate of $21.99 instead of the lunch rate of $14.99, which was quite disappointing.
Overall, M Sushi's strengths lie in its sushi and customer service, but it could benefit from some updates and adjustments to enhance the dining experience fully, including ensuring accurate billing and refining some menu items.

Ate here about a month ago and from the jump the service was pretty bad. We were seated by a guy who said he doesn’t actually work there but was friends with one of the servers. Even worse was our actual server, who barely said a word to us the entire time. Didn’t even greet us
For the price, and considering it’s all you can eat, the sushi was a lot better than I expected it to be. Also the tempura shrimp appetizer was hitting
I hate leaving negative reviews because I want to see restaurants succeed but they really need to tighten up their service discipline if they want people to keep eating here

Sushi King is by far my favorite all-you-can-eat sushi place. Unlike some other places, it's actually all you can eat, so there aren't certain items that you have to buy separately (like more expensive appetizers or steak dishes). Everything is included, and everything is delicious! The sushi is incredible, and there's even free ice cream with your meal. For only $21 per person, the amount of food you can get is absolutely worth it, especially for how high quality it is!

The price listed anywhere is $13, but today they charged me $15 + 10% service, the bill was over $18 for a single person!
The waiter was so lazy that he's dipping the plates as he walks so far forward that sauce is dripping onto the floor. He's also wearing earbuds!
The food isn't exactly bad, but it's also not great.
The Yakisoba noodles were unlike yakisoba I have ever had!
I'll never go back & make sure to discourage anyone else who thinks about going.

This place has all you can eat sushi and noodles for lunch and dinner. Lunch is $14. and dinner is $20. Their menu has a nice variety for All You Can eat. It includes sushi, noodles and fried rice. They also have drinks and beer for a decent price. In order to prevent food waste, there is a fee if you there is a lot of food left. Their portion sizes are on the small side but it’s all you can eat so you can order more. Their sushi rolls are just okay, wish there was more filling and less rice. The shumai and gyoza were both fried and decent.
For the price, it’s definitely worth visiting, so come hungry.

You get what you pay for, and for a sushi buffet at the ~$20 range it's about the best you're gonna get anywhere.
So if you think you're gonna beat the system: You're not.

Food was delicious, service was ok just need the waiters to do a more often table check, as its all you can it but they have to provide the food to you. Salad bar need some TLC salad was delicious but needed a little more variety. And please don't count on desert.

This place looks so dirty! From the table we sat on to the food. Please, if you know about sushi and you expect decent sushi, do not come here. All the people giving 5 start have low standards and just looking at quantity over quality.

They changed the sign from Love to M Sushi and left everything else exactly the same. Same subpar food. Same dirty nasty restaurant. Same leaking toilets. Same crappy atmosphere. I mean at least take down the window stickers that say Love and change the menus. Then clean the damn place. Especially the walls. A very poor attempt at fooling people into thinking the place had changed and was good like it used to be years ago. Very disappointing. Thank God for Akira near by.

No frills AYCE sushi place. The food was gotten much better since it rebranded to M Sushi from Sushi King. There isn’t as much rice per sushi roll so you can try more dishes. Good to try but personally I would only come here if I was really craving sushi.

Some of the worst sushi I’ve ever had. The fish in the sushi smelled and it was impossible to eat. I tried multiple rolls in the all you can eat menu and none of them were good (even when trying different combinations/fishes). My wife got some veggie rolls and even some of the veggies had a putrid smell… disappointing food and I will not even get into how pricy it is for the poor quality. Expect the servers to not care about anything. If you get a hello from them you’ll be lucky

We were seated rather quick. The server was... well. He did his job. Nothing more, nothing less. The food was good. Some rolls were good, like the tsunami roll and the Charlottesville roll. However, the California roll and Philadelphia roll were pretty bland. The shrimp tempura was delicious. The crab Rangoons were pretty good also. There was barely any food at the bar. The atmosphere was ok. It's very open and bright like you're sitting in a cafeteria, not the most enjoyable, but I guess it gets the job done. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves in their own world.

Currently sitting here with my toddler trying to keep calm. This was the 3rd time of us coming in, the 1st time was questionable, the 2nd time was worse, and this 3rd time we were just hoping it was a fluke but no it was even worse. Nowhere should it ever take 35 minutes for TWO sushi rolls. I asked for a different drink since the sweet tea taste like it’s been sitting in the tea canister all day. The waiter barely checked on us and how do you not have salmon sashimi ???? Legitimately worst sushi experience 10/10 recommend anywhere else. I’d recommend your local Harris Teeter or gas station sushi over this place. Service is terrible, sushi is below average and prices are not that decent.

Not really kid friendly.
This place had good sushi and good appetizers. We definitely got our moneys
worth.
But one of my kids don’t eat sushi or rice and they wanted to charge us $13.99 for him to get chicken nuggets and fries. Now yes I understand it’s an all you can eat one price. But if you want your customers to come back I would have a separate children’s menu for the ones that don’t want the whole menu.
Also the restaurant needs painted badly and there needs to be more on the salad bar.

I hate to leave one star review for any business but this place has gone far down into the dump over the years. We ordered several different sushi rolls and found strips of plastic in 4 different pieces, and they weren’t even from the same sushi roll which leaves me to ask if plastic in the food is the norm. The last view visits have also been subpar but we liked the sushi enough to come back. The woman with whom we spoke about this issue refused any discount and charged full price, which was strange as we left half of the food on the table. Here’s to hoping that their restaurant and service improves, and to us not having actually consumed any of that plastic (who knows where it came from).
Needless to say, they lost us as customers; i guess having our money for this one last time was more valuable to them than having repeat customers.
UPDATE:
As I reflect on this place and the horrible experience(s) I’ve had here years later, I STILL am disgusted by this establishment. #trauma

Probably the worst sushi I ever had in my life. The fish smelled bad and especially the eel they served were inedible where I had to throw up after I ate the food. It was so fishy and seemed expired. When I asked the server about the fish doesn’t taste normal he had no clear directions from the manager or the store how to deal with the problem. Also the food took million hours to be served

I was in Charlottesville for an Amtrak overnight layover. I decided to jump on the CATS #7 bus and check out M Sushi (checked on it before my trip). It was worth the trip out to them. The sushi is very good. I tried four different rolls, Clear Soup and Teriyaki Chicken and was pleased with all of it. The one thing I have to note is the server. He was prompt and checked on me fairly regular - which are the most important things in a place with this kind of "all you can eat" setups. However, his personality and demeanor could stand a bit of tuning. I work in customer service myself and know how challenging customers can be. However, it is still necessary to be pleasant, greet them and thank them for their business - they could always go somewhere else. Otherwise, I recommend sushi lovers out there to give this place a try.

It is just ok. I don't feel the sushi is of any higher quality than you'd find at a regular Chinese buffet. Our waiter did let us order more than one plate at a time each. We had come here about a year ago and hadn't been back since. For the $50+ it cost (2 meals and 2 drinks + tip), we'd have been better off getting better sushi somewhere else. You do get to try a lot of different things and some things are good like the pepper tuna and jalapeño yellowtail on the food bar. Some things are not. The beef dumplings were greasy and bland, the shrimp dumplings were like tater tots and fish sticks had a baby, and the beef teriyaki was tough and in a sickenly sweet teriyaki sauce and they almost tasted like liver. Most of the rolls and sashimi were decent. Service was friendly but a little forgetful. He was working many tables though and he was nice enough that it didn't bother us too much.
Update:We tried it again and it had gone downhill. The food was terrible last night. Everything tasted like it was slightly off. Higher prices and worse food. I don't see this place staying open much longer. Hibachi Grill is less expensive, you don't have to wait 20 minutes between plates coming out, and has better sushi.

If I could, I would've given them 0 star.
The restaurant was pretty empty considering it was a weekday dinner. I found a bug on one of the rolls I ordered the second time. I wanted to tell the server but he disappeared after giving me the food nowhere to be found for at least 5 minutes. I tried flagging down another server who was restocking the soy sauce at the table next to mine but he ignored me and looked the other way.
When I showed the bug to my server, he asked me if I wanted them to put the food on another plate. He didn't give any apology and I lost my appetite so I asked for the check. I ended up paying the full price and never received a sincere apology for what had happened.

So I am a sushi lover and I’ve been to sushi king or “msushi” many times before and have had a good time but today was a different experience. Me and my sisters came into the restaurant to enjoy a quick lunch before we had to go into work. Our server was Jason. Mind you, I’ve had him as a server many times and sometimes he is the only server I get when I go there. When we got there, it was slow, maybe 2 to 4 tables. We got sat immediately but didn’t get seen until 5 mins later which is sum what okay, but we were on a time crunch. When we were seen we got our drinks and put our order. Our food took 15-20 mins to come which is somewhat understandable. When we got our food, unfortunately we had to go so we started to ask for boxes. We were told that we had to pay a togo fee which is understandable. One of my sisters had ask to see the box to see if she wanted to pay the fee. And the boxes are not worth 10$ or however much they may said we had to pay. We could tell Jason wasn’t understanding us as his body language started to change. He started shaking, getting hostile and started getting rude. My sisters and I remained calmed until he got into one of my sisters personal space. We understood what he was trying to say about the fee for the boxes but it was like he wasn’t trying to understand us. When he didn’t leave to get a manager that’s when my sister started to record the conversation and that’s when Jason got into her personal space trying to grab her phone. At that point we are telling him to back up and go get a manager cause clearly this conversation wasn’t going anywhere. At this point my sister is telling him to back up and that’s when the manager realizes there is a problem and he starts to walk over to where we were sitting. When the manager got a little closer to our table, Jason started to walk away, but then he turned right back to come to our table when the Manager got there, but that’s when he started putting his fingers in my sisters face, he was acting like he was trying to fight her. At that point, one of my other sisters got up and got between them, so nothing further would happen. The manager told us we still have to pay normal price, but we wouldn’t have to pay the box fee, which is OK but it shouldn’t have gotten to that point we told Manager what had happened and after that the situation got resolved and we left. I feel like we got racially profiled, which is weird because I’ve been there before and he knows I’ve always paid. I’m pretty sure if he’s had other tables who have received the box 1st and left without paying, but I have a job there’s no need for me to not pay for food. If I can’t afford to eat out, I don’t eat out at all. The manager handled the situation very professionally and respectively, which I appreciate. I just hope that Jason is held accountable for his actions, and that this does not happen to anybody else.

Ordered delivery for dinner. Food came without utensils, barely any soy sauce. The sushi rolls were some of the worst I have ever had - texture and flavor was off, and it did not taste fresh. I felt queasy after eating it. The Yakisoba was worse, milky and again bland with an unflattering texture. I didn't finish my food. Portions were small, and for the price I paid I felt robbed. I would not ever go again or recommend to anyone else.

First time order and I think it's also the last time order from this sushi restaurant. The $11 special roll is as small as a regular basic roll. Besides the thin fish on top, they put the end piece inside that had barely nothing except sauce and rice. It's takeout so I can't judge if in store dinning would be better but after reading other reviews, I felt it's not worth eating inside. It's the first time my 16 year old disappointed in sushi. She had never complained any before. A grocery store sushi bar can beat it easily.

Just left me with a feeling of having been in a filthy place after leaving. Had me biting on egg shell pieces that were left in the food. No apology from waiter. Not great service. Food not cooked correctly. Asked for medium- rare steak, got back dry steak. Rice is not very good either. Sushi definitely taste warm and just gave me the feeling I would maybe get sick from it as I was eating. The bathroom was a scary looking place!
The host tried to sit me down at a table that was clearly dirty and still had food, I had to speak up and request a table the was clean, so it shows he was okay with putting me at a table like that if I didn’t speak up. The place is not run very well and they seem perfectly okay with it being that way.

Something Terrible has happened to this restaurant! I am so sad as it was one of our favorite places. Today the food was Awful. They have either lowered the quality of their food or have a new chef or both. The price has risen again but on Sunday I expected it to be expensive. I wasn’t expecting $80 for 3 people! We only drank water! For that kind of a price we should have at least liked our food. The shrimp of the shrimp tempura was pencil thin. The only flavor the spicy crab had was fishy. My daughter stated that there was something wrong with her tuna and picked it out. We have eaten at Sushi King for years but something has changed. That kind of price for poor quality food is unacceptable. Sadly, we will not be returning anytime soon. Such a shame.

Just because of the kid! I get it some folks have to take their kid to work. I used to go with my mom. But he shouldn't be sitting people. Then my own fault for not reading the reviews. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $10 & go somewhere else. 1st time was so very unpleasant. Full price for a salad that's probably going to ferment in my stomach, 2 bites of "gyzos" and 1 sushi that was mostly tempura flakes or crushed rice krispies. So disgusted I'm leaving my 1st review and fair warning to others.

We've given this location two solid tries while up here in Charlottesville. The service was insanely slow both times. The waiter (we had the same guy both times) was forgetful and never came to actually check on us either times. Tonight, I had to flag him down multiple times. Once to remind him of our soup orders ( after already receiving our apps and two rolls) and then to have him bring me new soup after we found hair in the first bowl. The building itself is just old, not decorated at all, and not well kept. We've been to much nicer Sushi Kings and won't be back to this one.

Overall mediocre service with okay food. The rolls were warm when they came out and had little to no filling in 4 out of the 6 rolls we ordered. If the price was cheaper for the food and service i wont have left a bad review but almost a check over 50 dollars with all the food being bad is not a great marketing scheme. I recommend only going during the lunch price and don't expect too much.

I am overall very disappointed with our experience here. We have been to many sushi kings and have never had the issues like we had when we visited this one yesterday. I took my aunt, and my two boys (2 & 4). My 4 year old actually requested sushi king. We were seated promptly, and they weren't very busy. After they brought us our drinks, my two year old spilled his drink. Two of the waitstaff were pretty close by and saw it happen. When our waiter brought our soup, he sat them directly in the drink that was all over the table. I asked if he could bring me napkins and maybe even a rag so I could clean up the mess. He brought me TWO napkins, and he wiped the table off with a rag. In the process, he threw the drink all over me and left the table fully saturated. I cleaned the rest of the table of as much as possible with the two napkins he left us. Our good was extremely slow to come out. I actually got my deepfried roll about 10 minutes before he brought out my oldest Crabmeat roll and the Crabmeat roll was ordered when he got our drink order.
My oldest ended up telling me that he wished we would have went to McDonald's. It was absolutely terrible.

We went here tonight as a family, and of course, it's an all you can eat sushi joint. After you have had a few rolls, they start taking longer to fill your orders so the rice can settle in, I guess. Lol
We have never really had any issues but tonight we had all finished and the wife had ordered a Boston Roll, well its a pretty simple item to make, anyways, he (the server) told us ok and moved on. Ok, 27 minutes later, we asked, and he said it would be 10 more minutes that there were larger orders being filled. 15 minutes later, he told us just a few more minutes. Now let me remind you this is all for 1 Boston roll. I finally, after another 10 minutes, asked him about the roll and asked if it had to actually come from Boston? He then replied we are out of those ingredients. Should I bring you the check now? So obviously, we had our limit and were being cut off. So here is my recommendation. Order everything you think you want up front, not 1 roll, and wait to order more. If you want 6 order 6 all up front. Then, when they cut you off, you are already pleasantly full.

I really liked the variety of sushi available (though I think on a visit a year ago there was more selection) and the majority of rolls were as hoped. It was fun sharing pieces with family and trying some rolls I wouldn't have ordered otherwise. Great value for price!

Thankfully in most cases I find that I disagree with these 1* poor reviews while visiting in person and today is no different. Trust me I'm a brutally honest person in general so I'll hammer restaurants if I feel they're a health risk. I read all of the poor reviews listed before entering Sushi King and no I didn't see any roaches crawling across my wifes foot or mice casually walking across the dining room floor. I didn't find any plastic or metal in my food. I didn't have to call the police because of poor service and I didnt have to speak to the manager to complain about cold or hot food. I didn't see dirty walls or dirty stopped up sinks. The poor reviews really had me questioning their motives for giving such a low score. This reminds me of what I tell employee's "You can make 100 people happy and maybe only get 10 likes or thank you's but upset one customer and you'll have 100 dislikes/ reviews." I'm hoping people will find my review helpful and will over look the negative reviews. Oh and btw as a guide we don't get special perks for our reviews and if we do someone needs to show me where I get mine. Anyways give Sushi King a try. Ask for extra sauce on the side because I felt my habtchi steak was a little dry and a little tough, probably because its not a choice cut but what do you expect from an AYCE establishment for $20.99. Lastly I could only eat 1 round and thought the portion size was perfect. I'm not sure why anyone would need more without over eating but to each is his own. Cheers mates!!

Rather disappointing experience with the food quality and prompt service for our 7 year olds birthday lunch. It kind of felt like they were being intentionally slow with checking in on us and bringing the next requested option from their "all-you-can-eat" menu. I can understand having smaller portions and plates so that people don't over-order and waste food but for every item we asked for it took longer to receive and the options were smaller. The sushi rolls tasted good but they had mostly rice in a small roll, I couldn't hardly see the Krab in the middle. Since we were one of 3 tables attended by our server it shouldn't have taken so much time and effort to get his attention and ask for more food to be brought. We don't plan to go back.

Dirt on the walls, good was so nasty and all tasted the same. I'd take the waste charge before I ate what they served. Total garbage. Only reason anyone would take their family there would be hopes of life insurance money after they died of food poisoning. Giving 1 star because I can't give 0 stars

Food was a bit lack luster. The staff was nice. The facility is in need of some serious attention.

Sushi is okay, their selection is limited. Doesn’t have high end protein selection. But is cheap and easy for a quick and lite bite. The atmosphere is not great, but the service is friendly

Over twenty five minutes to get our order. Not that busy.

Coming from California I’ve been looking for a good sushi place here in Cville. Pleasantly surprised by the sushi here! Decent selection of rolls as well as Hibachi, miso soup, rangoons, etc. The rolls are on the smaller side but they bring full rolls and it’s all you can eat. If anyone is looking for better-than-decent sushi, look no further than this place.
HOWEVER…the service is severely lacking. We waited nearly 40 min to get the rolls we ordered the first time. Took about the same amount of time the second time around. It seems like they’re
All in all, if you come here, expect to wait a long time but the food holds up for sure.

Love the food, and service is usually good. At this price point, I expect it to be less run-down appearing.

Me and my girlfriend went here for Mother’s Day and everything was fine until a huge cockroach crawled on my girlfriends foot while we were eating, very gross, and really made us rethink coming here in the future.

You get what you should expect at a sushi buffet. Cheap ingredients, warm to hot sushi. Sloppy presentation. Incorrect order. Service was good. Not very personable, but did their jobs. Apologized for the order and replaced somewhat quickly. The Seaweed salad was tasty, I don't think it's housemade. Take out isn't really any better. It's expensive for the same cheap ingredients. It's like they don't let the rice cool. Charlottesville, I'm tired of warm to hot sushi. And I'm not talking about fried sushi. I know the difference.

If I can give this place is zero, I would!!!!!!!
This is probably the worst Sushi I've ever had in my life!!!! The sushi at a gas station with taste better than this! I didn't even finish my food because it looked way off and I hope I don't get sick. The waiter was so rude and I waited over an hour just to get my food and there was no one in the restaurant, and he never checked on me once! I paid for my sushi and didn't even tip and I have never done that. That's how bad the service and food were!!! Now I have to go eat somewhere else because I'm hungry.
Be aware!!!!!!!

Came here at 6 pm and by 7:36 pm I had only one plate of sushi came even I put in second order 30-40 min ago. If you want food that come faster, order warm food like hibachi plates. Don’t order sushi if you can’t wait. Still ridiculously slow tho 😅
The server was terrible. I don’t understand why he had to wait till the cart is full then to serve the food? I saw my sushi plate (had only 6 sushi) on the cart sitting there for over 20 min. HE JUST WOULDNT SERVE IT and the whole corner of people until the kitchen had everything ready. Sushi is not good once it has sit for a long time. Increase food borne illnesses and just not hygiene. And guess what, the WHOLE corner of customers were angry and upset 🤣 I don’t understand the business logic behind this restaurant. If you just serve as the kitchen made the food, it would’ve have been so much better. Never again for us!

I waited over 100 minutes and we got 1 set of rolls.

VERY slow service. It took over an hour for the kitchen to send out our sushi order - which was only 2 small rolls! The warm food comes out quickly - the sushi takes way too long.

My brother and I have been going here for years for the all you can eat sushi lunch special. In the past year or two they raised the lunch price from $12.99 to 14.99. I can't really ding them for this, due to the increase in food prices and the previous years' impact of covid on in person dining. That being said, after tax and tip it turns into a $20 lunch. Add a soda and you're over that mark. The quality of the sushi has thankfully stayed the same. It is still made fresh to order and always comes out tasting great.
The majority of their servers are very soft spoken, so if there is any noise in the restaurant it can be hard to communicate with one another. That said, they are always doing their best to be attentive and make sure you have what you want.
The atmosphere is not the focal point here, but there is plenty of seating and the store is clean.
There are vegetarian options, and plenty on the lunch menu for those who aren't sushi fans.
Enjoy!

Doesn’t answer their phone within 1 hour or doesn’t take customers within 1 hour of closing. There’s a closing time for a reason. Learn how to run a business.

Went there with my husband and 11mo son recently, though I've been there many times before. I love that it's an all you can eat buffet; just make sure you don't waste food or they might charge you extra. We order slow, and eat as we go. Volcano roll, Hawaii roll, and dragon roll are my favorites. I usually get steak and shrimp hibachi mixed. Every one of their appetizers is delicious. Also they do have some interesting sake flavors to try.

Didn't see waitress for 30min. No straws, eating utensils, or a chance to order again. I had to ask a different server to get ours. Great work at ruining a potentially good time. Haven't had this bad of service in a long time.

Is there a 0 star rating. I've been going here for several years. This restaurant has gone down hill tremendously since it first opened. Went there today for a celebration lunch and was absolutely dismayed. First of all warm sushi. That's just gross! Service was very slow and very rude. We hade the tall skinny server. He would come to table and listen to one or two items ordered in the party and then run off. The last time it happened I said hold on a second buddy. He then snapped and said you should have your order ready. I said I do have it ready but I'm not gonna keep talking if you're walking away. I then asked for manager. He said there was no manager. My wife went to the front to ask for manager and he got in her face. Oh heck no! We paid and left and he said to us several times don't come back. Don't worry buddy we won't.

Always a great time at sushi king! Our go-to sushi joint here in Charlottesville. Prices are incredible for the quality of the sushi. You would think an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant, the fish wouldn't be best quality but that's not true at all here. You can't beat the price for the quality. Great sushi and good size menu.

0/10 My food was all packaged in ONE box for multiple orders for multiple people. NO care about dietary restrictions. NO care that the food was, essentially, poisoned. Right jerks on the phone about it. Refused to correct the order. Refused refund. I will NEVER order from this restaurant ever again, and would advise anyone with dietary restrictions NEVER order from there under any circumstances.

I don’t know why people rate this so high except for the fact that it’s all you can eat. I love sushi but this place was gross! The sushi was warm. I hope it’s because they used fresh rice, but 🤷♀️. The tuna was awful, tasted like it was bad. The Christmas roll was decent, but the massago roll was almost all rice and was extra. I was really happy I didn’t get sick after eating there, but think it will be a long time before I crave sushi again.

Place was hot as AC I guess wasn't working. The worst was every order of sushi came out warm. Sushi isn't supposed to be warm yet no matter what was ordered it was always warm and one was hot like it was baked??? Left so much to be desired.

If I can give a 0 star I would. I ordered sushi for the first time here. Mine you I didn’t pay for “all you can eat buffet” price. I am disgusted at how the sushi turned out. Barely any fish , crabmeat or the filling. All I had was a freaking rice. I’m disgusted cause you all take my money almost to a 100$ Worth of order . Mine you I had to throw it away. Not even edible at all. So for all new people trying to decide if you wanna go here . I would say save your money for another quality place. DO NOT GO HERE.

do not go here. first off, our waiter jaydon was very impolite. he did not introduce himself, and barely spoke or looked at us. every time we tried to address him the closest thing i we got a response was a mumble. the food tasted undercooked and blan. my sushi was warm and not fresh. the walls were dirty and scuffed. i left here thankful it was over but angered at the price i payed for probably the worst food i’ve ever had. i hate to sound rude or entitled, i am just shocked at how awful the experience was.

The restaurant needs an overhaul inside! Missing ceiling tiles, sticky floors, gross tables, and leftover residue on the walls. Sushi was good, but not worth the price they charge. More rice than filling.

Hi, one I didn’t like how the host walked us to the table & asked if it was our first time and my friend said “no” & I said “yes” & immediately after she said oh well she can explain the menu to you. I thought that was rude & it wasn’t her job to. It’s all you can eat buffet however on the menu it says a up charge for wasted food LOL scam. Even though my server didn’t do it to me.. I felt intimidated to continue to try items because I didn’t want to get charged. The things I ordered came in big servings so that was disappointing. I tried the teriyaki shrimp (overcooked), hibachi chicken that was ok, shrimp fried rice (just tasted old), the spicy shrimp sushi (terrible). In fact none of the food tasted fresh except for the Hawaii sushi kind of. The only item I liked was the Hawaii sushi. Bummer & a waste of my money.

The fried sushi was great but the cold sushi was not cold. I think this was because they didn't have enough time between cooking the rice and serving it in the sushi. I did not care for it but they do have food on their menu that is not sushi that was pretty decent but nothing was a home run.

Went for all you can eat sushi for lunch. The price was good at $14, but the sushi left something to be desired. It wasn't very fresh or flavorful. The service was friendly but a bit slow also. The dumplings were good though I wasn't expecting them to be deep fried.

It used to be an awesome place when it opened but the last few years it's gone to the pits, servers are rude and the sushi isnt as good anymore. Maybe management changed, not sure I'll put myself through it again. Staff has become condescending.

Such an awful experience. I usually love AYCE and understand that the quality isn't the best sometimes with buffets, but this was bad beyond measure. Sushi rolls are 90% rice, and the service is so slow that you can barely get any orders in before they're rushing you for "last call." Also, the sushi came out room temp and the "hot" food we ordered came out cold, leading me to believe that they were sitting out for a while before being brought out to our table.
The restaurant also doesn't appear to take great hygienic measures. Table was sticky, cooks weren't wearing gloves, etc. Definitely won't be going back! If you want AYCE in Charlottesville, try Hibachi Grill Supreme Buffet or Wood Grill buffet––both way better options in terms of quality and value.

Sushi is usually of decent/good quality. The all you can eat price is pretty fair, especially compared to the cost of delivery/takeout.
