Extremely kind and attentive staff with delicious food and a very nice atmosphere. You could bring a large group of friends or your entire family. I’ve been here 3 times now and I’ve been by myself, once with a friend, and once with a large party. Each time the staff treated me and my friends with care and made sure we had full drinks etc. I’ve ordered mostly steak here, and my favorite has been the filet. It’s extremely tender and delicious every time! The fried rice is an extra +$3 but it’s very much worth it. I have leftover rice to bring home every time and it’s super tasty. Just a little crunch from the rice and they add a sauce to it while they’re cooking that really makes it special. Promise it’s worth the upcharge. Overall if you’re in the shopping mall and willing to spend a little more than you would on tacos or smaller bites you should head here!

Our family got together at this restaurant on Eisenhower Avenue For Christmas eve dinner. After the waitress took our order, a shouting match broke out between our waitress and the owner's daughter. Or so we were told. The argument quickly turned into an actual fight. Fisticuffs. Throwing items at each other. It went on for a few minutes. When the fight finally stopped, we all just walked out. The manager, a young woman, was in tears with several wait staff out side. In addition the grills were giving off burnt grease smoke that was acrid. And the place looked unclean. Obviously we are not returning.

Used to love this place. Been going for 20 years. They’re now going on what seems 2 years without AC. Not sure how a hibachi place doesn’t have AC in the scorching summer. The servers are sweating delivering you items. Honestly feel bad for them. This place unfortunately has lost its touch and I will never be returning.

Party of 10 for niece birthday was horrible. 1. There is NO A/C in the building. It was so hot we felt as if we were going to pass out. They only had fans blowing towards tables that were being used. 2. The hostess messed up the order. They didn't have enough food for everyone, so we received smaller portions. She seemed preoccupied on her phone or nowhere in site. We had to get her several times for help or the cook would leave to go get her. 3. The cook burned my niece with the hot oil while doing the fire trick. She cried, backed away from the table and wouldn't come back until he left. Poor birthday girl right? I felt bad because she picked this place to celebrate her birthday, only to be burned and traumatized. He apologized, but the damage was done. She sustained a small burn on her arm. AGAIN, the hostess was nowhere to be found when I tried to get a bag of ice to put on the burn. None of our cups had ice to use because it was so hot it melted immediately. When she finally resurfaced, she seemed irritated when I explained what happened and told her I needed a small bag of ice. I was just here for my birthday the month before, and everything was fine as far as service and portions. It was still hot, so I think the A/C was out at that time as well, but it wasn't as bad as yesterday. But we had a huge fan blowing directly on us so that's probably why it wasn't so bad. But they need to fix that asap. Even though we made the best of the situation, we won't be returning...

Got some food from here to go and was definitely disappointed with the amount of rice we didn’t get. When you eat in at a hibachi place, you normally get a ton of rice but getting it to go is different. The food was good but for the price you pay for the hibachi dinners, I’d prefer to get the same amount of food to go as I would by dining in.

For many years this location was a fan favorite of our friend group for many celebrations over the years. Last night we got the whole gang back together and were so incredibly disappointed with the experience. No AC, in the middle of August. It’s hard to want to eat in a sweltering hot restaurant, Hibachi over flames no less. Credit card machine was “down” so they only took cash, and could not make change. Gratuity was auto included… plus what they were taking with the extra cash they couldn’t give change for. They were out of Sake entirely and most of their Sapporo beers were warm and not refrigerated. It was really disappointing, expensive and lackluster… unfortunately that will be our last time dining at Samurai.

Secondly, they Charge you to get the rice on the grill,$3 or you get white rice. I have been to numerous Hibachi restaurants in various states and this is a first.
Third and finally, the food was mediocre at best. First and last time.

When I drove to the restaurant to pick my order up, it was closed with a sign on the door, see photos. There were other customers at the door equally as confused. Hope I get a refund.

I ordered pick up today and the AC wasn't working it was so hot. I also dined in a month ago and the AC also wasn't working then also. My family and I have dined here for several summers and have noticed a trend that the AC never seems to be working. Please fix/turn on your AC unit. It's too hot outside to not have working AC for your paying customers, especially when you have add a mandatory 18% gratuity to your checks.

Visited for the first time and was positively impressed by the flavors. The teppanyaki hibachi show is good (similar to any other place) friendly and with the classic tricks. Very entertaining.
The food itself was good and would probably come back eventually. Not mind blowing but still very good.
Didn't get to try the sushi 🍣 this time though.

Went with my son for my birthday and was very disappointed.

AC not working, bathroom urinal out of order, and the chef was boring. The fried rice had onions after we specified no onions and veggies.

The chef did not attempt to do any entertainment whatsoever. There was 4 of us at the table and no fire volcano or tossing shrimp or eggs or anything. You go to a place like this for the experience and in this case, it was extremely lacking.

We were then charged a mandatory 18% gratuity which I would have done less.

Not sure if I can recommend this place to anyone. Very sad that it was not a better time for me and my son.

Upon arrival my driver told me there was no sushi. Waste of my time. When I called the restaurant the young lady on the phone couldn’t care less and told me to call Uber for my refund. I read a post two weeks where the AC did not work. I figure they fixed it (since it was two weeks later) and went there. I was so wrong!!! They should’ve had a note at door stating “NO AC !!”. We sat down and was going to turn on the fan where we the waitress said don’t touch. We could not take with it being 99 degrees out and felt so uncomfortable inside. We left before server took our order. Never again

Automatic 1 star for forced tip added on the check. 18% tip added automatically for terrible service Ordered a trio hibachi and vegetable hibachi with water and unsweetened tea. Bill was almost 84 dollars. My wife and I will never dine here again. They're trying to change 5 star rates for a 1 star restaurant. In the past this restaurant was ok but management has let this establishment get run down. And they need to clean the bathroom doors. Absolutely disgusting.

My recent visit left a taste of disappointment and dissatisfaction in my mouth. The food was not hot and for the value was not worth the price. We asked our waitress a very specific question about the menu and she was unable to answer. We ordered our food and to our surprise I was charged $8 for chicken which is already apart of the menu item I ordered. We then notice on the bill a $3 charge for each person in my party for fried rice, but the meal already comes with fried rice. Oh, by the way, a party of two, we were billed a 18% service charge before we could decide if the service was worth it. Which it was not. The waitress was not able to explain any of the additional charges, but she made sure to ask us about the check before we finished our meal. Very rude, disrespectful, and classless. We had to remind her to give us refills. Oh, by the way, she refilled our glasses and left the dirty dishes on the table. We will NEVER come back to this location.

The staff is awesome but I am was unsatisfied with the 1) cleanliness of the restaurant, 2) quality of the food, and 3) the pricing. The restaurant has an unpleasant scent...it's not a bad scent but it's not a fresh scent or the smell of good food; and bathroom floor was sticky and dirty. The soup had an off taste like something in it was spoiled or unfresh. I took one sip and left it. Lastly, the pricing is weird. $24 for hibachi (which is completely reasonable) but there is an extra $3 charge for fried rice. What??? The $24 doesn't cover the egg and soy sauce needed to transform white rice to fried rice? Also, the bento box was $24 which is way overpriced given that the California Roll wasn't even good and we didn't eat it. It was weird to mess up that basic roll at a suishi spot. The teriyaki chicken in the Bento Box was good though. I definitely will not return. The place needs a solid thorough cleaning and the food needs to checked for freshness.

I showed up at 7:40 after work and placed an order of 2 sashimi bowl and 2 nigiri. I didn’t get my food until 8:35. That’s horrid. They gave me ice cream to make up for it. Thanks… I’m lactose intolerant. Also the rice looks stale and fish looks slimy. I paid for it I’ll probably eat it. I feel bad for my fiancée she has had to wait for dinner and I’m coming home with this mediocre meal.

Waited for 20 min.After arriving home and starting my meal I discovered salmon was frozen solid and icy. 🥶 So I was waiting 20 min for chef to cut 8 pieces of frozen salmon- a no no for Japanese culture . I have visited this place several times and had a pleasant experience. HOWEVER, tonight was different! Our table did not get our soup or salad, and by the time I realized we hadn't received it, the chef was already cooking on the grill. I mentioned it to the waiter, and he did bring it out. However, while we were wrapping up, we asked for to-go boxes, and while the waiter was passing out the bags, he said, "I have dime bags, nickel bags because I know y'all got pounds" (referencing drugs).

The whole table is African American and Hispanic. When we brought up how inappropriate the comment was and mentioned the racial undertone, the waiter proceeded to let us know that he had black friends and a black wife.

They also turned on music that did not bleep out the "N" word...... Overall, this experience was traumatic, and it is a shame that we, as black people, are still dealing with this type of ignorance in 2024..... If I could give them zero stars I would!! Do not patronize this establishment!!!!!

Gave this place 2 chances. Both hibachi and sushi and they’ve both disappointed. You’re better off going to Yakuza on little river turnpike. It’s only 3 miles away and way better.

The waiter/manager was argumentative and dude was gone for 15 minutes while I waited for him to come back from the back. They got my sushi order wrong and expected me to eat what they served after I said I wanted replacement.

Samuri was such a pleasant surprise! We happened to notice it when heading to La Casa next door, and decided to give it a chance, and I am so glad we did! The food was excellent and very fairly priced for hibachi in this area. They were great with my seafood and onion allergy as well. The table we were sat at had a small kiddo (maybe 7-8 years old?) And the chef was great with him as well. We will definitely be back!

Be aware! they add shrimps to hibachi chicken and also to hibachi steak. I ordered online (Uber Eats), I ordered hibachi CHICKEN because I’m allergic to seafood… and it came with two shrimps :(, thankfully I noticed before I stared eating, ending throwing it the trash. I called and let them know, even if it is courtesy, it is dangerous. Please be aware. They also put all the sauces in one bag and it was a mess.

I typically leave reviews when a business is exceptional or exceptionally bad. This place is more in the lower middle. However, because they apply a mandatory 20% tip to the bill, I couldn't address it that way... If the customary tip is 15-20% then add 15% and let the customer add more when warranted. But since they forced me to leave a generous tip, I feel obligated to leave an honest review...

The food was just OK. The quality was OK, but it was really bland - lacked seasoning and flavor. The $3 up charge for fried rice would've been reasonable if it included more than just soy sauce and an egg.

The service was mediocre. The server was unfriendly, cold and carried a serious scowl. Taking a large family to a hibachi restaurant for a birthday, we expected at least a moderate amount of friendliness in the service.

The chef who served us was very pleasant, interacted very well with the kids and delivered a very good experience while there.

The atmosphere was just meh.

We will not be going back here.

This is really the only decent hibachi place around. However, even if you have a reservation, expect to wait. They aren't very organized with planning for reservations and walk ins. My husband and I were moved two different times because of lack of planning, we ended up getting a whole hibachi table to ourselves, which seemed like a waste but it was nice even after waiting a while. The servers seemed overwhelmed, but the food is always good. The chefs are great. However, the biggest issue I have with this place is the heat, smell, and cleanliness. The walls are in desperate need of a paint job and cleaning. The walls are covered in old food splatter, like soy sauce, drinks etc. Is it nasty to look at while eating. They need to go through with a magic eraser and clean all of their walls and baseboards. Don't even get me started on the thick layer of dust that covers the glass hanger at the bar. I almost spit out my drink when I looked up at the amount of dust covering that glass hanger. The place is in need of some updating, maybe fixing the AC to start. They have fans blowing everywhere but every time I go there I can't breathe and it is so hot. They should probably think about cleaning the whole place, floor to ceilings. Very hard to eat and look at the dust and dirt covered walls. Again, decent food.

My Birthday celebration was ruined with sassy customer service and greasy floors. 3 of my guests were late out of 12 people and they were trying to cancel my reservation. Once we got to the table, the attitude changed when my husband ordered Top shelf liquor and the drinks were still weak.I know my guest spent over $500. I will never eat from here again. Went for my friend's birthday celebration. The food was delicious. I loved the California roll (highly recommend). The drinks were perfect, not watered down. I couldn't finish all my food and took most of it home. The owner came out and was very nice. I will definitely return.

Unfortunately the place is only accepting cash right now. Now sure how long this has been happening. The hibachi steak was yummy but the chicken has a sweet sauce on it. My husband didn’t love the yum yum sauce in the rice cause it made it greasier. Soup wasn’t the best but the salad was good. I got the crunchy roll (spicy tuna and crunchies) and it wasn’t very good.

I’ll start with the food, wasn’t the worst we had it was decent. The atmosphere is AWFUL. The restaurant is hot, they have a leak coming from the ceiling which no one cared about until a lady who looked like the manager came in. The space is dirty, they were blaring highly inappropriate music, the staff is not friendly and we could not wait to leave. We could have left earlier but we were looking for excellent hibachi food from a *4.5* star rated restaurant. We will not be returning, we left our card though so they can properly renovate their space.

Standard hibachi show, again it was good but basic. My son said the men's bathroom was really bad and the floor was sticky. The restaurant was warm and the music was loud. Appreciate the dinner but won't be back.

I always come here but today I was disappointed.. I came with a family member and we ordered noodles with vegetables and shrimp.. the chef was not entertaining at all he was very slow which we understand maybe he is tired or such. The thing that got us upset the most was the people on our table did NOT order shrimp but this chef shared our shrimp with the people on our table. We were charged 91 dollars for what? He barely put vegetables on our plate and by the time our shrimp was done the noodles got cold. I hope this never happens again.

The chef at our table was extremely inappropriate and consistently made suggestive and lewd comments towards one of my friends. After getting reprimanded by who I assume was his manager, the best he could apologize was “sorry there I said sorry”. Wack and unprofessional service. Reprimand your employees better. Harassment shouldn’t be accepted in your restaurant. Chicken was also barely cooked and it wasn’t good at all.

Thank goodness the weather has cooled down, sadly during summer it was too warm in here to visit. But now I am here everyday! I love the staff, cuisine, cocktails, and location. Their sushi and hibachi are phenomenal and the ambiance is always light and fun. Special shout out to Glenn and Michelle who always greet me like I am part of the Samurai family. I love coming here after work to enjoy some Miso soup, sushi, and a cocktails of course. My favorites are the Lychee martini and the Sakura martini. Cannot wait to come back and say hello, sit at the bar, and enjoy my meal. Thank you Samurai!

Update: Had excellent customer service today from Mafusa and Domini, both so lovely and attentive. Had some hot sake on a cold day, was fabulous. Love coming here!

Showed up with my date for some good sushi. They were what I assume in the process of changing management (new name Sumo hibachi). On a Saturday night, place was half full but the hostess and other seater were clueless. I shrugged it off and eventually got seated in dining. There was confusion on what waiter was supposed to wait on us. Eventually someone came around and took our orders. We went with the mystery sushi and sashimi and it was okay at best. The kicker was the check at the end that had a blind 18% service charge applied for a party of two in dining area (not hibachi). I asked why 18% was applied and the guy said that other restaurants in the area were doing it because “things were slow lately” A lot of people just got up and left because of the experience, unfortunately I stayed. This is my first 1 star review but I owe it to the public to inform them. I ended up still tipping even tho I got gaped on a random 18% service charge (no disclosure on menu). Wasn’t the waiters fault. Stay away from this place.

This place was a huge disappointment. Food was cold & tasteless. Waiter was clumsy, and we ordered soup and they had no spoons, gave us plastic spoons.

Went in on a Friday night, the place was very empty and the staff was clearly unmanaged, hanging out at the bar, not waiting attentively on the very few tables there.

Saw several tables get up and leave. They also don’t tell you they charge 18% service charge to all checks (we were 2 people, seated at the table in dining room not habachi grill) and were charged it. Saw who I assume is the manager yelling at an employee in the middle of the dining room for not having on uniform… save your money and go elsewhere Not worth $150 we paid. Will never go back.

Our experience was decent. Waitress and service were great. We sat at the bar and ordered sushi and hibachi. We had to pay $3 extra for fried rice, expecting the fried rice with egg, scallions etc but it was just brown rice. Sushi was good but did take some time. We wanted a bottle of white wine but were directed to order the more expensive because they didn't have the 3 below. No price adjustment. We also ordered medium steak (filet and strip) but I think it was the same, and id order medium rare next time.

My best friend and I visited for the first time last week and had an absolutely wonderful time. The entire staff were genuinely kind beings, always smiling and anticipating our needs. The food was AMAZING! I ordered the veggie roll combo (avocado, cucumber, asparagus) while my best friend ordered the sashimi and hibachi chicken. I ate my friend's salad that came with his meal and I have never enjoyed a side salad at a hibachi restaurant as much as I enjoyed the one here! The sesame dressing on this salad was unlike any other dressing I have had before and I have been to MANY different hibachi restaurants across the U.S. The dressing was so good I saved it and dipped my sushi in it as well! Ever since visiting this place for the first time I have been craving their sushi. I thank all the fantastic staff members for making our first experience here a perfect one. See y'all again timelessly soon!
