We have been waiting years for this place to finally pull the trigger and go to the all you can eat Sushi style. They have the best sides so even if sushi isn’t your thing you can’t go wrong with this place the Korean wings are super good as well. Michaela was our server. She was phenomenal! Can’t wait to come back!

Out Christmas shopping with my husband and stopped here for dinner. No wait, which was super nice as it was a Friday night and the burger place nearby had a 45 minute wait. I was worried since it wasn’t busy, but I was so wrong. The food was amazing. We picked three rolls to share and a side salad. The salad was very good — simple but with a delicious dressing that was light and flavorful. All of the sushi rolls we tried were so good, I would definitely eat here again. I’ll have to come next time with my kids because they love sushi. The price isn’t any higher than other sushi places, that said, this isn’t a discount restaurant. $16 average per roll. Their website says all you can eat will be coming next year and I’m excited.

Incredibly disappointed with blue fish. As someone who has been going to blue fish for YEARS, at least once a week, I can’t see myself returning anytime soon. 5 friends and myself went in to lunch only to find that the menu and way of ordering had changed. It’s all you can eat. Which sounds great, but it wasn’t.

The waitress allowed us to order 6 rolls at a time. Seemed solid because there were 6 of us. We waited 15 minutes for our miso soups. Another 10 minutes from that for our rolls. Our rolls that were FOUR pieces each. Not enough for everyone in our party to even have one bite of each roll. Placed another order of 6 and it came 15 minutes later. This same thing went on 4 separate times. We spent more time waiting for bites of food than we should have. We left hungry and frustrated.

I’ve been in with larger groups than this, when it is busy, many times and there was never an issue making FULL sized rolls in a timely manner.

Our waitress seemed stressed out. I’m sure we weren’t the only people in the restaurant feeling this way. Looking around, most people did NOT have food in front of them. When we asked questions to figure out how this all worked and how to be more efficient she would roll her eyes and make it obvious she was annoyed. When we tried to order more food she told us that she was serving the whole restaurant and that we already had an order in.

I’m bummed out this restaurant has changed their business model. Not sure how long they will last, but it won’t matter because I can’t imagine I’ll be returning.

I’ve been to SO many sushi restaurants in Salt Lake and Utah Counties, and this one is by far the best! Their food is consistent and delicious, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Definitely eat here!

We love this place. We weren’t sure how the all you can eat would work. It was great we tried things we haven’t tried before. All of the fish is so fresh. It is by far the best sushi around. My son worked there years ago and the owner Eric always comes by and treats him so well. Thank you!!

Waitress came and took our order and 20 minutes later we had one 4 piece sushi. The tables around us who got sat 15 minutes after us already had multiple pieces of food by this time. Over all took 2 hours to get the equivalent of only 4 rolls. Sushi was alright but you can come better.

Edit #1: Bluefish reached out to me and explained their circumstances. They made some recent major changes and mistakes were made while adjusting to their brand new model.

No one is perfect and I respect their professional response. I'll make a visit again sooner rather than later and edit my review again after they have settled in to their changes.

I think they have a good chance of being one of the better sushi places Utah has to offer. I'm looking forward to my next experience.

The menu has genuinely good quality sushi. Well thought out and proportioned small as to be able to enjoy lots of dishes.

However the service was lacking. We waited 30 minutes on one last dish to come out. Three different waiters asked us what we were waiting on. We ended up leaving without the last dish after another waiter said it probably wasn't coming out. It was pretty poor form and left a bad impression.

There were several other customers noticably upset about wait times. I get it if there are issues, but at least be honest with your customers.

2 stars since the food was actually impressive for an all-you-can-eat.

I'll go again in a year or so and edit my review. Staffing changes are natural so I'll have my hopes up.

Hmmmm, we have really loved this place. Sushi is great. But, they recently changed to an all you can eat menu (and you have to do it) and it’s a disaster. It was very confusing on how it works, and not all the “rules” were explained so we were a bit surprised when only 4 slices of sushi came out on a plate at a time. It took us 1 hour and 45 minutes to eat when it typically takes 40 minutes to get in and out. Very disappointed. The waitresses all seemed stressed (we were told a couple waitresses had already quit in the last week due to this change) and we saw many frustrated customers. PLEASE go back to how it was. Not a good way of doing business!

First, Blue Fish has fantastic Sushi! This has been my go to sushi since the end of Covid. High, consistent quality.
I don’t live but only work out this way so I exclusively eat lunch out here. I have an hour for lunch. So it has been great, I ordered two rolls and I am out in 45 minutes for under $20 with tip. Fantastic. I probably visited 4 to 5 times a month.
However they recently went to a full All You Can Eat, no exceptions model. For that model, hands down without question it’s the best tasting all you can eat out there. Let’s just say I avoid all you can eat sushi because it is never good. Blue Fish is the exception.
They have now upped the price to $25 for lunch (currently at $20 as a promotion). So now I have to spend $30 (tip) for what I normally would get.
I really can only eat two traditional rolls before I get full. So there is no new value for me. In fact it is worse since they only bring out 4 pieces at a time vs both my 2 rolls at once. I guess this is fine if you can eat a lot of sushi, but they also put a 90 minute to it on your stay. So if it’s busy, good luck. I had to stay for over an hour. This is a problem if you are on a lunch break.
It pains me to say that I won’t be back for some time, if it all. This new model doesn’t work for me. I loved the previous half off model so much. But at these prices and time constraints, I will just go back to Tsunami.
I recently experienced the new model with about 20 loyal customers, and after, everyone lamented the new model and agreed they won’t be going as often or at all.
I also feel bad for the staff, they seemed very stressed out and were running full steam, resulting in an inconsistent inaccurate dining experience.
I really hope they can still survive under this new direction because it is a great restaurant with awesome sushi.

Delicious but disorganized is the best way I can describe our experience. We ordered multiple items off the menu, and often had items brought to us that we didn't order. I can't complain about the flavor of anything though, as it was all quite immaculate. Unfortunately the restaurant can be quite cold as during the winter all the cold air from outside rushes through the whole restaurant whenever the front doors open. Overall a delicious dining experience despite being uncertain about what might show up at our table and the slight chill we had.

Blue Fish is my favorite sushi spot, hands down. They recently switched to a Premium All You Can Eat menu and the quality is top tier. Each dish is fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. If you're a sushi lover in Utah, I highly recommend!

The all you can eat package is worth more than what one pays for it. The fish was so fresh, the smells and textures were bright and vivid. The ambiance was fun and laid back. The service was very speedy and correct. I will definitely be returning back every time I’m in town again!!

Honestly this is one of the best sushi places I've gone to in utah. They've gone through a few menu changes as of late but I'm very thankful that the food quality hasn't changed and they are still upholding their high standards. My wife and I love this place and will continue our patronage into the future!

We used to eat here a couple of times a month or so. It was by far my favorite. They ha
ve since increased prices by about 60% by making it "all you can eat" only. Of course, this means the rolls are half size, the service is slow and the quality of food has gone downhill. It's very sad because it was by far my favorite.

Judging from other recent reviews seems like I wasn’t the only one with a bad experience.

The good: Probably the best nigiris I’ve had from an AYCE establishments.

The bad: Lack of attention from server. The 90 minutes time limit is pretty typical so I have no issues with that. But i have a problem with limiting how much we can order at a time and such small portion. For example 1 nigiri for a serving of nigiris and what seems like a half of roll for a sushi roll. and such a small cap of orders at a time for a group of 3 person? This wouldn’t have been an issue of the server was attentive but as you can see from other reviews from the same day. 20 minutes for for the first food to come out and then another 20 minutes to put in our next order. Next thing you know you hit your 90 minutes and you’re leaving hungry at an AYCE restaurant. Definitely feels like I was robbed out of my money.

Writing my first review because it was that bad. Terrible service. Server checked us out at our table and insisted we leave because it would take “too long” if we ordered again, only after our second round of food. Never have gotten kicked out of a restaurant like that. Should not call themselves an “ayce” sushi restaurant when options are limited and wait times of 1 serving takes 30 minutes. For the 2 hours we were there we only ate for about 10 mins. Left empty stomached and robbed out of our money.

Complete rip off. The all you can eat has a 90 minute time limit, and it took them 20 minutes to take our order and another half hour to bring us one roll. They didn't even finish bringing us our first order before our time was up. We were just sitting there starving the whole time. The waitress was nice enough to let us order a few more nigiri at the end since we didn't get to put in a second round of orders, and by the time it got to us we had been there 2 and a half hours and still left hungry. All the other tables were having this problem, too, it was just a sea of empty tables with people waiting around. What a scam. They have no right charging that much for people to still be hungry at the end, but I guess that's their strategy for making money.
The food was delicious but I could have gone to a lower quality restaurant and actually been fed.

We were so excited to try this new ayce sushi spot since Utah lacks a lot of quality sushi. While the ambiance of the restaurant was amazing, the portions and service were disappointing. We didn’t get our first dish for 20 mins. After waiting another 10 mins we finally ordered more and ended up waiting another 40 mins. It didn’t feel like ayce. Felt limited, server was annoyed when placing orders. Overhyped by social media.

Our whole family loves Blue Fish! I was a little skeptical at the menu change, but it turns out to be even better. The All you can eat menu is reasonably priced and fun bc we have tried dishes and sushi rolls we wouldn't have thought to order when buying piece by piece. Turns out that they are all great. We haven't tried one we haven't liked. I appreciate the smaller dish sizes so I don't feel like I am wasting food, while getting to try lots of different dishes. The service is fast without sacrificing food quality. We've never had cold food brought out, and rarely ever had to wait. The servers are knowledgable and attentive, Mackayla is amazing. This is our go to favorite place, hands down.

I have been eating your food for quite some time, and I enjoy it. However I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do with an all you can eat format all of the sudden. Seems suspicious, and not really in character for what I expect. Maybe you had a change in management and they have 0 clue what they are doing. Or you got too many freeloaders taking your money and so you're going cheap instead of cutting out the problems. Either way, I don't really care, and I wont to be back. PS, I'm sure nachos at a sushi restaurant is going to be such a huge seller. Add pizza next!

As someone who doesn't do sushi, they did have a few options. I wish they had a few more options though! I went with the Orange Chicken and it was pretty good.

I’ve seen a couple of the servers snap at the young hosts a few times now and it's quite an eyesore. As a mother who’s had kids work in the food industry, I wouldn’t want them to work at a place like this where older employees harass younger coworkers. If they act like that when customers are around, I don’t even want to know how they are when it’s just employees. I’ve emailed the owner previously about another one of his employee’s behavior, but if he is letting his servers get away with harassment then this is a huge letdown.

I had one piece of my sushi roll and I have been sick since. It pretty much hit me as soon as I ate it. I have had food poisoning before and I sure I have it again. I am going to insta care to get some help because it is pretty bad. The food has been good before but this time it was pretty bad.

Ok everything besides the smokin hot roll was delicious. Normally we like smoked rolls but idk what it was about this one but we didn’t like it. The ecstasy roll and hot night roll were great and the coconut shrimp too. Lily was an amazing server, they were extremely fast.

I had the sushi which was not very good and didn’t taste very fresh. Also I feel it to be a little bit ridiculous that with the teriyaki plates that there is an additional charge for soup an additional charge for salad and and initial charge for tempura vegetables. We go to another Japanese restaurant whose prices are comparable but it actually costs less because all of these are included. I honestly don’t think we will be back. Although the other restaurant we usually go to is not as conveniently close we continue to go there instead.

Lauren is the sweetest waitress. Always remembers us and greets us with a smile. Gives us amazing recommendations. We absolutely love the sushi here. In all honesty all the rolls we've had are delicious. Some of our favorites include popcorn roll, hungry roll, snow white, ecstacy, mad shrimp, mango tango and honey mango.
Also the place is always clean. Highly recommend Blue Fish.

Came to pickup my to go order and was treated so rudely. Parking is a joke on any day but worse on the weekends. Also the restaurant was very dirty when I walked in. Needs help bad! Won't be back

The restaurant says it close at 9:30pm but i arrived at 9:05 and the two girls were up front gave me a bad look and said they are closing. I asked if they closed 9:30 or 9pm and they let me seat. As soon as seat, the server comes up and said I have four minutes to make an order eat and leave because they're not supposed to let me seat because I arrived late them their last cal.
I just left the restaurant without being served.
Was so embarrassed and I feel like I was asking for a favor and they will give me food for free! It was the worst and most embarrassing experience

One of my favorite places for sushi by far. I loved the poke bowl on special tonight. The smoked roll is always a winning choice. We had the orange chicken tonight as well and it was amazing!

If you’re not going to seat people at 7:30pm when your closing is 8:00pm change your closing time to 7:30pm. I hate restaurants that do this and we will never be back!

The sushi rolls were low quality. They were not rolled properly, and they could quickly come undone. The taste was okay, but this was not worth the price. I can understand if it was cheaper, like Yi Bistro, but compared to places like Tsunami, it came short. NOT WORTH COMING HERE.

I love the food here this has been my favorite sushi for the 2 years I have lived in South Jordan. However the most recent time I went I had my same delicious order and I got E COLI!!!!! I have been so sick I had to go to the hospital!! I have never eaten better sushi in my life though. It never tastes fishy and is so flavorful. However be careful.

Ate here for the second time in two years and got sick again. Two years ago my boyfriend and I were in separate bathrooms. Today, same deal. I will be calling the health department in the morning when they open. It’s the double dragon bad. Every five minutes bad. The can’t be away from a toilet for longer than two minutes bad. To top it all off, this was supposed to be a mini staycation for me for the first time in two years where I’m not sick and I’m purposely taking time off and this happens. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR GUT HEALTH!

This place was just average. Nothing great to really set it apart. I don't think the fish used was fresh or maybe not sushi grade. The salmon had a strong fish flavor, unlike most good sushi places.
Tempura was decent.

Lily was our server and she was excellent. Helped my friend order a roll that was not on their menu. We got some appetizers coconut shrimp and the heart attack, the jalapenos weren't very spicy but it was delicious. We ordered 2 rolls each and tried a few different things I would recommend the Sunkist it was delightful and the sauce was so good also got the mango tango same.

We went here on a whim, since it was the closest Sushi to where we were, and it did not disappoint. We got the cucumber salad to start and then the Korean BBQ roll, Ecstasy roll and TNT roll. So yum and the service was good too. Our waitress Vivian could answer all our questions and gave great recommendations. Would for sure come back again.

The food was super yummy! We got the tempura veggies/shrimp, the teriyaki chicken lunch special, the shrimp tempura roll and bulgogi lunch special. Everything was good! I wish they had a baby changing station in their bathroom but I just went out to my car.

Teriyaki steak was cooked perfectly. The veggies and rice were a great compliment. Utensils and plate were pretty. Atmosphere is fun but intimate. I don't have many complaints. I mean once my water cup was left empty for 2 minutes when there was no rush., which honestly isn't a big deal. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed my time.

Got the orange chicken. Food was good but the takeout box isn’t great for eating out of. Adding soy sauce to the rice makes the paper underneath stick to it. And the bowl is too deep to eat out of comfortably.

Everytime we come it’s a 10/10 experience! No matter how busy they get you say within a short wait, the sushi is a great price for the amount of fish you get! The service is really fast, you get the rolls within a few minutes of ordering! Mikayla the waitress is AMAZING!! We love her

We organized a meetup group, this time there was 16 of us. Jenny and Lili took such good care of us ... when it was time for the bill, they separated it all out with accuracy that we all commented on. All 16 of us want to return because of the service and food quality! Ohh and it didn't hurt that there is an ice cream place a couple of doors down.

The waitress gave me water right away and then ignored me even when I tried to wave any one of them down. I had an hour before a movie and I still had to end up ordering it to go. Plus it was boiling in the restaurant. Fix your AC.

We had a great dinner here! The KFC appetizer was delicious. The Nigri yellowtail was also fresh and tasted great. The bulgogi and orange chicken were in the " its okay" category. The orange chicken seemed to have a weird gritty texture on some of the pieces and not quite crisp well cooked pieces. The service was great though so the overall experience was great.

Great place food wise but they invent their own hours. Don’t take reservations after a certain time, and even though their hours say open till 9:30 they don’t like taking anyone past 8:15. We’ve been turned away multiple times saying “it’s past last-call” and “sorry but we’re out of rice for the night”

Won’t recommend won’t be trying back. At least the owner needs to update the hours on google or train the hostesses to not be snotty or say over the phone we don’t seat anyone past half an hour before our closing time.

I arrived at 7:30 for some take-out dinner. The place was clean and in good order. There were about 4 other groups, and the place was mostly empty. I went to order at the counter and I was told that they had ran out of rice, and it would be a 30 min wait. I'm not sure what kind of Shushi restaurant runs out of rice a couple of hours before closing time. I decided to stay and I went ahead and ordered. I ordered one of the entrees and 2 of the rolls. The food took just over 30 minutes, and I went on my way. I found to food to be pretty good, but for $18 the entrée was very small, and and I felt that they forgot to put half of it in the box. The rolls were good. Overall the food was descent, but value for the money is far short of acceptable.

Where to start!? Their doors opened right at 5:00. From there we were asked our preference of seat. “WE LOVE” We ordered the Monkey Brains and the Coconut Shrimp. Both were fantastic! Would get the monkey brains again. Each roll we got had it’s own taste. Nothing tasted the same which I LOVED! Definitely will be back to try more of their menu. Staff was very attentive. Drinks were never empty. Plates always cleaned away. Overall experience was amazing! 10/10

They have a very nice menu that is not utterly typical of sushi places in Utah. They have many classics but offer some unique rolls. I have always found that the fish is fresh and is very delicious.

This has become our go-to sushi place when we're looking for top quality extra fresh fish (you know, for a place so far from the ocean). The server was a little off on our most recent visit, but still a great meal. Every time. This is not a budget option, it's a"worth it" option.

The problem with most of the sushi rolls is they all have eel sauce soaked on the bottom. I didn't notice that until after we ordered 3 rolls and they tasted quite similar. Why would you think it a good idea to make every roll too sweet with eel sauce? If a customer wants eel sauce they can order it on the side. No roll should have eel sauce except an unagi roll. It didn't used to be this way. Why the change? We won't be going back.
