Under wraps was a refreshing sushi experience, especially for here in Utah.
Skyler, the owner is who served me and he was amazing. I asked him to just order for me and he did and amazing job. Everything had amazing flavor and you could tell was made from high quality ingredients.

I would tell you my favorites from the menu but it would just be too hard to decide!

I went to a special Studio Ghibli Spirited Away themed dinner. It was 9 courses of absolutely sensational food from the movie! For those not familiar with the film, food plays a central role in the story. They played it on a projector and like clockwork, every time there was food on screen they brought out that dish for us to eat! The staff were all excellent. It was my understanding that two of the three servers were new and they did awesome. The host, Skyler, was friendly and gregarious. The chef knew what he was doing, incredible food! All in all, an amazing experience, 100 out of 10 would recommend.

I recently had an amazing dining experience at Under Wraps. The sushi was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, with a great variety to choose from. What truly made the meal memorable was the outstanding service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations that enhanced our experience. They made sure everything was perfect from start to finish.

This is one of the best food experiences, around, at the very least in Utah county. I've gotten to know the chef and the staff - they don't compromise on quality and are simply amazing people. I hope more of Utah's food scene will learn from what is going on at Under Wraps, because this is just next level food. And the people there are amazing.

They've started doing movie nights with a menu crafted around the movie. I highly recommend snagging a ticket if you can.

Ridiculously slow wait times. They kept bringing out a single hand roll at a time, taking nearly 45 minutes total to bring out 4 rolls.

The most concerning thing however was watching the lady who was actively making the sushi walk to a table, take their payment, and then bus the table, walk into the kitchen for less than 10 seconds before coming out with a salad to deliver to a customer.

Overall not the worst place we've had, but we absolutely would not recommend

This place was so cute. The food was great, the servers were so great and attentive and funny. They played anime the whole time and they switched up the episodes the whole time we were here (we were there for 2 hours). My boyfriend absolutely loved the rolls here. The server Skyler was so sweet and so funny, he played very close attention and always filled up our drinks and asked if we needed anything!! 5 stars all around!!

Fun for a different experience, I wasn't sure what to expect to be honest! Plates shown so you can see the price per plate since that appears to be a common complaint. We started eating the salmon sashimi before I remembered a photo so that's not a great representation of what you'll get but you get the idea. We also ordered a few tuna rolls, a scallop roll, and tuna sashimi- all not pictured. Their rolls are shaped like half of a regular sushi roll but just not cut, to give you an idea!

We are sashimi lovers so this was a different experience but fun for the concept. We spent about $65/person including 1 drink (sake flight) and left satisfied, adding this since some people said they've left hungry. All in all we had a fun experience and Chef Hannah was lovely to chat with! Thank you!

Our first experience here was at a feast-your-eyes event, which included food and a film. Both the creativity matching courses to the movie and the atmosphere of the event were incredible. 10/10 would come back, 1000/10 would return for another film.

This a newer Sushi Bar in the Utah County area. Its interior definitely shows a lot of love for popular anime. They even have Ghibli movie nights where you eat what you see in the flicks. My daughter, who is younger, and still learning what she likes, was blown away by the sushi nachos she picked. I got a couple of hand rolls and miso soup. It was all good! A tad pricey for a cheapskate like me and I had to awkwardly remind them close to when we wanted to leave that I was still waiting on soup. However, all in all it was an enjoyable meal and they are sensitive to food allergies.

Truly a gem hidden in PG. The food was delicious, the drinks were flashy, and the atmosphere was upscale. Throughly enjoyed an evening here, I will be thinking about the wonton tacos for a long time.

We came for a small company dinner. And I expected typical sushi rolls and was surprised with so much more! Everything was plated to perfection with a unique and fun look. On top of that so the food was so refreshing and I left feeling full, satisfied, and still wanting more. I could not recommend Under Wraps more for any sushi lover!

Cool place and our waitress Olivia was great!
Food was not the best and was very small portions. Their sushi rolls were 80% rice, 10% fish, and 10% seaweed. Definitely not worth the price. I wish they had a show going on. I thought that's their biggest advertisement.
I thought the drinks were fantastic! I got the "Great wave" and I thought it was quite good.
I'll give them another shot in the next 6 months, just hope they fix a few things before then.

We took our whole family here for my husband's birthday and wow. Just wow. Everything we ate and the atmosphere was fantastic! Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted just as good. I don't like seafood in general but I tried some of the sushi rolls, and I not only liked it but I would gladly come back and eat it again. The owners are also just as exceptional as their restaurant. 5 out of 5 for us!

My partner and I visited this establishment last night for the first time and it was quite enjoyable. The ambiance and 'vibe' of the restaurant is what made it special for us. The food menu is small, but packs a punch. There are some tasty items available that we were able to try (Tuna handrolls and salmon Nigiri were our favorites). Cocktails were perfection - highly recommend 'A Proper Pear'. There seem to be many sushi/Japanese restaurants throughout the Wasatch corridor, but this place is top-tier.

Favorite sushi place. Hand rolls are incredibly fun. Very reasonably priced. The quality is incredible. Service is always top notch. We come here at least once a month. The fried cauliflower is a favorite.

I never give 5/5 but I would consider moving if they ever went out of business. The salmon w/puffed rice, spicy tuna, and fresh tuna hand rolls cross my mind on a daily basis. They kill it on every front.

Good restraunt with few exceptions. I felt hungry after spending 16 bucks. The sushi rolls looked like they were off the children's menu. Furthermore, they weren't sliced into modest bits.

This had to be on of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Not only was our waiter rude and inattentive, our food took forever and was not good. We thought for 12 bucks we’d be getting a whole roll but legit these guys are serving less than appetizer portions and calling it a meal. 2 pieces of sushi. Completely ridiculous and it wasn’t even delicious. Bland and boring. Also just to warn you (this is just PSA) they do play anime shows which is totally fine but some of them are super graphic and may be inappropriate for younger audiences(ie, death/murder, cannibalism). I wish I had taken pictures but the shrimp tempura looked freezer burned. Everything was awful.

The staff is friendly and welcoming. The service alone is reason to go back. The food was incredible. I tried the wagyu smash burger and it was cooked perfectly. After the burger, I couldn’t leave without trying a roll. I got the spicy tuna and it was the best roll I’ve had in Utah.

We freaking love Under Wraps!
First of all, we love the decore of the restaurant! It's clean and well maintained, and the anime mural is the best!
The staff is always so friendly and quick to greet you with ample seating options.
Their menu is constantly evolving with a passion and love for food and the genre, with Poke Nachos being a must order! They have delicious drinks (N/A options too) that top off a mouth watering meal!
If you go on Friday or Saturday night, they play Studio Ghibli movies on their projector!

This place was an absolute blast. My friend and I visited this evening and were greeted immediately upon entrance, by the owner of the place even! He was extremely friendly, personable, and helpful with any questions we had! The food was served quick and was undeniably delicious. I am a sushi novice so I don't have much to compare to but I quite enjoyed the spicy tuna hand roll I got, and the wagyu smash burger is incredible as well! It also helps that the fries were also pretty good. I hope to come here a lot more often and recommend to everyone who want to check out such a unique and fun sushi restaurant!

This is the best sushi/Japanese restaurant in Utah, and it's not even close; and the most authentic. Understand, if you choose to go (and you should), that this isn't your average McSushi that you would get at 99% of American "sushi" restaurants.

These guys are the real deal.

Food was very meh and very expensive for the small quantity. I've had better and cheaper sushi at Harmons. Can't believe we spent 60 bucks and were still hungry. Lychee drink was good though. They have a high rating because they offer free dessert if you write one.

Edit: I literally heard a worker tell another customer right next to me to have them show the Google review and then they got free ice cream.

This was our first time coming and the food was amazing!!!! The smash burger was so good! The rolls were yummy and then we had house made sorbet! Some of the best food and service we have ever had! The atmosphere is so fun as well. Highly highly recommend!

Let me start by saying we are huge sushi eaters who don’t really trust UT sushi, and we absolutely love this place. We tried it for the first time last month and have already been 3 times. The fish is always fresh, the items on the menu are all solid, the staff is really friendly, and we always have a great meal. Our two small children love it too! The menu is unique from most sushi spots as they do hand rolls vs big sushi rolls, and there is a much smaller selection than you’re probably used to, but it’s quality over quantity this place. Another favorite here is their pickled ginger and pickled daikon, both are made in house and are full of depth. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Under Wraps Sushi Review

Under Wraps is a standout spot for sushi lovers. The place is decked out with cool anime paintings on the walls, a huge counter/bar, and plenty of eye-catching murals. They’ve even got a big projection screen showing anime, which adds to the laid-back vibe.

We tried a range of dishes, and every single one was top-notch. The black eye tuna nigiri, puff rice salmon, poke nachos, and pork belly skewers were all packed with flavor and perfectly sauced. The presentation was straightforward but with nice garnishes that made the food look even better.

The staff at Under Wraps are excellent—friendly, patient, and attentive without rushing you. It’s great to relax and enjoy your meal without feeling pressured.

The interior is clean and well-thought-out, creating a solid atmosphere. While it’s not the cheapest place, the prices are in line with other sushi spots, and the quality justifies it. It’s an ideal place to sample a variety of dishes.

I’d definitely recommend Under Wraps for a fun night out, whether it’s a date or hanging with friends. They even have a private party room, which is a nice bonus. And don’t miss out on their unique sorbet flavors—they’re a perfect finish to the meal.

I have lived in Japan on and off for almost a decade. There is no Izakeya in Utah that even comes close. Come, eat, enjoy, and feel the real love that the they deliver. Anyone who says otherwise is so wrong it’s silly or actually never been to Japan for any substantial period of time. Love it.

It is a nice sushi place with a fun atmosphere. And the items they have are good. But I can't give a perfect grade because their service had problems in my experience. Despite having plenty of available tables, they made my family wait 10 minutes to get seated and they were taking a snail's pace when setting the table. They laid out the utensils and then tweeked it again and again knowing we were waiting. And they forgot our order of tea. After reminding them, they brought a sad cup of tea.

Everything about this place was AMAZING! It was like modern luxury but the servers and environment is relaxing. On top of all that the food is full of flavor! The serving sizes are on the smaller side but considering today’s prices I think it’s very reasonable. Our server was Bird who was so kind and attentive but in no way overbearing. We also got to meet Hannah which I later found out from the website is one of the founders of this place and she is so nice!! If I lived here, this would definitely be my go to spot!

Saw this on instagram and decided to try it out with my husband. Hands down the absolute best food I have ever had! Every single bite was so wonderfully unexpected. We had the katsu curry which my husband has been trying to find a place that recreates the same flavors from when he was overseas. It’s been years and finally he has found it! The sushi hand rolls and tempura shrimp were delectable. Everything was flavored so perfectly. I don’t think I have ever had a meal where I have enjoyed every single item and every single bite. We also had the cucumber shaved ice which was also so unexpected. The flavors and combinations were so new but absolutely amazing!! If you are into an experience that is going to blow your mind, you gotta try this place!

WOW! WOW! WOW! If you hate Sushi, Nigiri and Sashimi, this place will change your mind instantly! the first bite of their "Salmon with puffed rice" along with literally every other sushi dish will make you question if you've ever really had sushi. It doesn't stop there either. The Miso Soup actually has depth and feels like the chef studied the art of Umami in Hokkaido. . . I could keep ranting but beyond the absolute gorgeous presentation and flavor of the cuisine was the over the top hospitality and atmosphere. The owner, I believe his name is Skyler, David and jake/Jacob took better care of us (2) then when we were at Flemmings steak house for my birthday. . . You are a fool if you pass by this gem of a restaurant and don't get even a snack! If all that wasn't enough. They have anime classics to watch while you enjoy the majesty that is "UNDER WRAPS" 💖

Not only did the hand rolls taste delicious, they felt like good clean eating. Everything was fresh and the wagyu burger was nothing short of amazing. Came with the ideal fries as well; Crispy, no flop, but still full of soft potatoe-y goodness. Everything we tried was great and also really fun to eat.
Also they were playing that time I got reincarnated as a slime on the projector. 10/10 I’m for sure coming back.

My daughter and I came here for a girl's night, we had ordered their brussel sprouts which they cook in the fryer, they told us that they had just cried something that had peanuts in it and they were willing to change out their oil to cook the brussel sprouts because my daughter has a peanut allergy. It was an overall fantastic experience. The food was incredible and it was a completely stress-free amazing dinner out. I can't recommend this place enough

This place was fantastic! The owner was so kind and talked to us about our shirts, and seemed personable and enjoyable. Someone I'd want to be friends with. I'm a picky eater, and was hesitant on how much I would like everything, but it all exceeded expectations. We came Saturday night and it was busy, I could tell the staff seemed slightly flustered but I hope they read this and know that the customers loved it, and everyone enjoyed themselves. We ordered the chefs choice nigiri twice, and the second time the chef came to us personally and asked about our preference. We told him to choose, and he delivered a fish, and took the time to tell us a little bit about it. You can tell he's passionate about his work and we love to see that in a chef! Thank you Chef Jake! The vibe of this place is so cool. I wish it was a bar and not a restaurant because kids kind of killed the vibes, but it is Pleasant Grove so you get what you get!

My wife and I have been coming here since we moved for the Past 2 years and it is by far the best Sushi place around. Under Wraps provides a unique but delicious experience like one you haven't experienced. The sushi and fish are so fresh and the rolls are top notch. The sashimi is tender and delicious and flavor combos are on point.

Even non sushi items are delicious, from the edamame and the karage to the gyoza. The food and the quality of service has been so good that my wife and I have frequented the place at least once a month if not more frequently.

This new place is worth every penny!! 🤩 We started with the hibiscus Lychee Gin Fizz drink that is on Point 🥃 and did the Gyoza and fried cauliflower that are to die for.
Our favorite hand roll was the shrimp tempura and spicy tuna and the special nigiris. We got the food and drinks super fast
Staff is super friendly and the place is cozy and super cool.
Food is $$$ but is totally worth it.

This is the most authentic Japanese food experience I have ever had, other than when I was in Japan. The owner is so friendly and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious, so flavorful, and well portioned. And the atmosphere is fantastic. It is absolutely worth the drive. My company consistently hosts customers and investors at Under Wraps. We love that they can accommodate large groups and that they have a private dining room. Hands down the best kept secret of Utah Valley. Super fresh fish and high quality dining. The chef is incredible. A favorite lunch menu item is the Cherashi Bowl. Highly recommend!

Came in for a dinner date with my husband. We weren’t sure what to expect but we’re very pleased with our dining experience. Everton working was very friendly and kind, and made sure to make you feel welcomed. The poke nachos were amazing!!!! Totally worth getting. The hand wraps were very fresh and tasty. Nigiri of the day was super fresh and hit the spot!!! Very open concept dining, cool murals on the wall, and bar setting at the counter.

Very pleasant experience! The menu was a tad bit confusing but I got the GYU DON (rice bowl with steak, a poached egg and I added veggies). It was AMAZING! I was seated right away at the bar. The servers were very polite. My server went and asked the cook about the modifications I wanted to do to my order which was great (most places just say no but doesn’t hurt to ask).

Again the meal was SOOOO yummy.

Try the poke nachos- amazing!!! The sashimi was unforgettable! So fresh- and amazing sauces. We hung out with the owner Hannah while she made a plum syrup from scratch for one of their signature cocktails!! Everything was made from scratch- new amazing flavors to try! Can’t wait to come back!!!!

I really enjoyed the Katsu Curry. The crust was light and crunchy. The sauce had a brighter flavor than usual and was quite tasty. My dining companion had handrolls and commented that they were nothing special. Of those he ordered he liked the salmon with puffed rice best. Prices seem high.

Under Wraps is top notch. The food is deceptively simple with bright sophisticated flavors that are perfectly balanced and allow the beauty of the ingredients to shine. This is not your run of the mill Americanized sushi (thank goodness) and the passion and knowledge of the chef is clear in every bite. We tried a lot of the menu and every dish was excellent. My husband and I have been to this place twice in a month, and it's quickly becoming my favorite Utah restaurant. The food is SO good, the service is excellent, and the owners are extremely friendly and welcoming. We marvel that this place is in Pleasant Grove because it feels like we're at a nice Seattle restaurant while we're there -- but with much more affordable Utah prices.

When you go, get the poke nachos, the chef's special of the day, and the pork belly skewers. The teriyaki salmon is excellent, too -- the sauce isn't too sweet! Finally, try the authentic wasabi -- my husband loves it!

Not including Tokyo this is the best sushi I’ve had. Unagi roll (Eel) amazing. Salmon chimichurri amazing. Miso soup amazing, doesn’t taste like cheap paste. They have phenomenal nigiri (the superior form of sushi). Price is incredibly fair for the quality of fish you’re getting. Could not recommend more highly

Based on the name I was anticipating this place to be more of a casual sandwich shop and was surprised to find out it was a Japanese/Sushi restaurant. The place has a cool vibe and great service. I ordered one of the lunch combos (miso soup, hamachi sashimi, and gyu don). I thought the food was great but I was a little turned off by the price. $25 seems like a lot for a lunch combination especially since it did not include a drink. I would recommend eating here as long as you’re aware of the pricing in advance.

My wife and I decided to indulge in a sushi dinner at Under Wraps Sushi on a calm Friday evening. From the moment we stepped in, the serene and elegant ambiance hinted at a promising dining experience ahead.

The courteous staff welcomed us and were well-versed with the menu, assisting us in making diverse selections. We tried a few different items on the menu, and each one was a delightful surprise. The freshness of the ingredients shone through, making every bite a flavorful adventure.

Despite it being a Friday night, the restaurant was surprisingly slow, which was a bit of a puzzle given the amazing quality of food and the cozy atmosphere. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise, offering us a quiet, intimate setting for our date night.

The meticulous attention to detail, from the preparation of the dishes to the presentation, was evident. Each dish was not only tasty but also visually appealing, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Under Wraps Sushi is a perfect spot for a date night, offering a tranquil atmosphere coupled with fresh, delightful sushi and other tasty menu items. The restaurant certainly deserves more recognition for the culinary gem it is. We're looking forward to returning and exploring more of what they have to offer.

Wow this did not feel like your typical Utah county restaurant. The owners are the chefs and create incredible dishes. The appetizers are the winners. If you’re expecting typical rice on the outside, tempura packed sushi rolls you’ll be disappointed though; they are small simple wraps with rice and a little bit of fish on the inside but the fish is super fresh and spicy sauces are incredible. The poke nachos and Brussels sprouts were MONEY.

Wife and I were treated to lunch at Underwraps recently when she was out there for a conference. First off, loved the atmosphere and the Japanese anime theme. Staff was very pleasant and accommodating for our group. They treated us to a variety of items. The Katsu Curry Don was deliciously tender with a perfect crunchy crust. The Spicy Tuna Handroll, along with its great flavor, had a wonderful contrast between the chewy fish texture and crunchy tidbits. The Sesame Ginger Salad was very fresh, vibrant and colorful and full of flavor. It went extremely well blended with the rest of the items for that garden touch. The Fried Cauliflower was one of the most pleasant surprises cooked in a delicious sauce. We couldn't get enough of all of it. Highly recommend this restaurant!

I don’t know how they pulled it off, but Under Wraps is classy and modern while also showing a love of anime. Dark interior colors mixed with light colored woods for furniture gave an atmosphere that feels sophisticated. I was able to talk about some of my favorite shows with the Owners. I think it’s a wonderful place.

The experience at Under Wraps was absolutely incredible. The owner Hannah, was very kind and outgoing with the customers in the restaurant. She had offered recommendations on what to try and ensured that all needs were met.

The restaurant was very clean and themed very well. All of the food that was prepared was incredible and very neatly prepared as if if you were in a very high end restaurant.

The 7 spice tuna had amazing flavor and the seasonal watermelon sashimi was heavenly!

I started with the salmon japanese chimichurri sashimi. Loved it. Salmon was tender and fresh and with that chimichurri, oh baby.

I then had the Gyu Don. It was beautiful and delicious. This thing hit the spot for me. Both sweet and savory, I couldn't get enough. Over easy egg on top really made it comforting.

I can't remember what they called the type of dessert I had, but it was like a very smooth/fine almost creamy shaved ice. Very sweet and strongly tasted of cantaloupe. A great flavor, and it cut through the heaviness of the Gyu Don afterglow.

As far as atmosphere, the staff was very friendly/welcoming. They have a large bar seating area, which I love for lunch break single dining. I'm not by any means a sushi expert, but I'm not ordering sashimi if a place smells like fish. This place though looked, smelled, and felt clean.

Oh, I'll be back. I didn't try any of the handrolls yet and I think I also hear the seared wagyu calling my name.

Nice place. Good food but expensive for small portions. Our biggest complaint was they left out two items that we ordered and paid for. It was a take out order and we live 16 miles away. Then when I asked for extra soy sauce, the owner, Hannah McCallson gave me two small packets. I would expect to be shorted food at McDonalds, but we shouldn’t need to check our order at a restaurant like this. Pretty disappointing for a first time customer. Won’t be back.

Under wraps is a high-quality, hand roll sushi restaurant. The food, staff and atmosphere is phenomenal. I would go here again and again for the just one of the three. They are the trifecta. This last visit we tried a wide array of menu items. The hand rolls are fresh and great, but don't miss out on trying the fried cauliflower and the curry wings.

Came for the reviews for my husbands birthday.. didn’t meet up to everything. Ordered the tiny Wagyu tacos (which the waitress told me), tempura shrimp, spicy tuna roll, salmon roll and chicken katsu which was the best!

The restaurant is decorated with an anime-inspired mural. The sashimi is beautifully presented and taste amazing. The hand rolls are a must try, the spicy tuna and shrimp tempura hand rolls are probably our new favorites, and once you take the first bite you’ll be wanting more.

You will not find another dining experience like this in Utah County, or perhaps even in SLC. The food quality is incredible, the flavors are phenomenal, and the atmosphere is incomparable to anywhere else.

My favorites are:
Shrimp tempura
Gyoza
Fried cauliflower
Spicy tuna handroll
7 spice tuna sashimi
Wagyu sashimi
Wagyu burger and fries

And really everything else! The mocktails are also hand crafted, not just lame versions of the full-alcohol cocktails. There is something for everyone here! We go multiple times a month and bring all of our friends here!
