Very nice place with the table top cook your own. Nice condiment bar and the all you can eat should appeal to anyone on a budget that eats average or greater portions. I tried an experiment where I ordered. White peach sake, and poured it on the meat as it was cooking., turns out this is a wonderful added flavor Yummy π

Came here for a celebratory dinner during the week. Was able to call and make reservations for a party of 8. It was during the week so it wasn't a problem reserving a few days in advance. We might have been ok without reservations, but wanted to be safe.
Restaurant and grills were very clean. You have several choices to order the types of meat included in your package. You can also add the Shabu Shabu for a little bit more. Not wanting to get full off the soup and noodles, I ordered the meat set including the wagyu. This also includes a small snack bar where you can also make your own meat sauces.
Service was very friendly and helpful. Throughout the meal they're constantly checking if you want to order any additional meats. They also did a good job of replacing the grill several times as it got dirty.
Quality of meats, vegetables, desserts, and snacks were on par for an all you can eat restaurant. The joy is cooking your own meal and sharing it with others.

Got our weekly BBQ fix for lunch here today and was very impressed. We got the Lunch Special for $21.95 which included a large number of meats and vegetables you could choose from and cook yourself table side. Including but not limited to pork belly, chicken, octopus, shrimp, beef, mushrooms etc etc. You can also upgrade to 2 different tiers. Included with the meal was rice and a salad bar with about 10 or so sauces and other fixinβs for cooking. I also got this wild KYOTO KUROMAME ALE which was an ale that was roasted with black bean. It was delicious. Service was outstanding. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We never waited for anything and the table was cleaned faster then I even was able to notice. This was a great lunch. We will be back.

I was so excited to try this place, but I didn't know what I was getting into. In a nut shell, you're going to pay $40+ a person to cook your own food. The concept sounded cool: three price levels to choose from with each level adding higher end foods. Thank goodness we went with the lowest level but added the Hot Bar ($5 more). They pour your broth into a pot next to you where it begins to boil about 6 inches from your arm. Then they brought out the raw meats and vegetables. We were never offered soup bowls or spoons to eat the soup. I had to get a sauce dish from the sauce bar but still had no spoon. You cook your own food (meats, veggies, everything), so you're constantly having to watch something since it all cooks at different speeds. No knife to cut the steak, so I had to "caveman" it and eat it with my hands. The grill is on non-stop, so the leftover bits start burning and stinking, and it's HOT! Overall, it was confusing and underwhelming. The grand finale, our ice cream, was Bunny Bell served right in the plastic cup, but at least I got a spoon for that! I would never go back or recommend it to anyone. If this is your thing, more power to ya. Definitely not mine. I'll hit the Schlotzskys next door in the future.

Celebrated my momβs birthday here yesterday. We came for dinner without reservations, party of 5. We didnβt wait long to be seated. Theyβve added takoyaki to the bar thank you! I really loved it. I will come back just for the takoyaki and the sesame balls! In fact Iβm writing this review because of the takoyaki since Iβve been here a couple times already. Set you guys apart from the other hotpot locations. Service was quick. Our server was attentive and nice! Thank you Jessi! The only thing I would ask for would be another grill. One grill for 5 doesnβt work well. Or just come here with a smaller party? BUTTT if Wild Japanese BBQ&shabu can add another grill for parties greater than 3! That would be great. I will come back for that takoyaki/sesame balls though, so please continue putting it out there.

This was my first time coming to this place, got invited to a farewell dinner. We had bout 9 ppl and they had to split us at 2 tables which is no problem. I didnβt know how to order but the friends/family I was with explained it. They have a lot of options to choose from. My favorite was the Bulgogi Beef. It was amazing! The concept of the entire thing was pretty cool. I will say, it was a little bit overwhelming from all the options to the table being full of food. It is all you can eat and I got full! They have a condiment bar area with everything you need. They even have a few appetizers you can choose from. Our order of food every round was pretty quick. And our waitress was amazing! She was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Ugh I wish I could remember her name. But she did a really great job. Overall, a really cool experience but just be ready to spend money. For 2 ppl on a Saturday (5pm) I spent $84. And we didnt order any alcoholic drinks. But other than that everything was yummy!

It's my favorite bbq place. Better pricing than Kpot, in my opinion, better quality meats and variety. The servers are very attentive. I never leave this place disappointed. Come prepared to eat a lot and don't forget to try the desert. Cheesecake is amazing.

Enjoyed it. First time here. A bit overwhelmed from food choices. Call ahead for reservations, especially for groups larger than 4. We were grp of 5 but squeezed into table for 4 (still charged for 5 people, despite 2 kids hd to share a hotpot). Food came out fast. We really didnβt order a 2nd round of food; but added on rice/noodles as we went. Forgot to look at menu again to get more vegies/etc. servers were nice. everyone came home full. Kids had fun. Got a bit smoky during dinner.

This was a really great experience, however cooking your own food is not as fun as it might sound. It was difficult to get everything to cook consistently. It's s a lot of fun, and since everybody was having fun, it was pretty loud.

Food was delicious and waiter we had was on point. All booths, not tables and better smoke vac system then other similar places. Better grill and hot pot station as well. Carne and chicken is better seasoned and Inlove their Tonkatsu broth. Highly recommend. I wouldnt recommend young kids as its tight and ppl speed by which could cause an accident if they dont sit in their seats.

The food is good, but how is the waitress going to seat 5 at a table meant for 4 and then tell them they have to grab a hot bowl and switch it out in order for them to have soup. A safety concern for sure. For the manager to be ok with that is crazy.

Great place for this style of restaraunt. Good quality meats and plenty of options to choose from. Flat price can make it pricey, so just make sure you are going with a crowd that is ready to eat. Lunch specials are a more affordable option if you can break away mid-day.

I've been to many AYCE BBQ restaurants. This one just didn't wow. They did have a nice bar where you can create your own sauce, grab some kimchi, and a few other apps... but nothing really special. The meat wasn't really flavorful nor were there a lot of apps that most BBQ restaurants offer. Price was decent and meat options were plentiful.

But as long as you understand the menu after asking your waiter, youβll be good to go. Everything was clean and organized and the service was very good. They checked on us multiple times. Weβve been to concepts like this before and I think the only reason people bad reviews is because they donβt understand the menu and are not patient. Great overall experience and food!

I love the service here! No matter what time we went or day we went, we received good service everytime.
The small buffet line has decent options. The sauce options are plentiful. The food options between the hotpot and kbbq are good but I wish they wouldβve kept their old menu, with the hotpot options being all one and the kbbq being split into 3. The hotpot menu is now split between A & B. I feel like it was better value with their old menu but thatβs just my personal opinion.
As far as their atmosphere, Iβve definitely had better elsewhere but their amazing broth makes up for it!

Wait staff made us feel rushed from the start and only checked in with us once. Instructions on how to use the grill were unclear and we had to consistently ask our waitstaff on how the whole process worked. Overall spent about $35/person and for the amount of food we got it was still worth it. May be returning back not too sure yet #ConflictedFeelings

This place was delicious, all you can eat for the entire table with a really great variety of foods to choose from, with their own tiers of pricing for different quality foods. A little on the pricy side if you're not going to eat your fill, but absolutely worth it if you feast like a king!

Compared to other restaurants that do the same thing, this one is a hard pass. Ordering 3 things at a time, everyone at the table has to order the same price level, no extra plates, bowls or utensils were provided unless you asked, and the whole place seemed dirty and crowded. I much prefer other places where you have a choice bar. For example I would have preferred to take a few pieces of chicken and try other things, but in ordering they brought me more chicken than I could eat. You might think that's good but the threat of being charged for uneaten food made me wary. The service was decent and friendly.

"My personal opinion" and it may differ than yours, but I do not feel like the food was worth the cost. The people and atmosphere was great. I had the Pina colada and it tasted good and was priced well. Me and my wife went with the top pick to include Wagyu. You are limited to a single Wagyu beef, but unlimited Wagyu fatty rib and beef belly. The Shabu was meh at best. I had the spicy Szechwan base. I would say skip the noodles as they are more filling and get your money's worth in the BBQ. Except for the price it was a great meal and experience. The staff was very attentive and brought the food out fast. There is a 120 minute limit so keep that in mind.

It was an awful experience, we had a group of 6, 1st time for all of us, the server didn't give no time to think what we wanted, ask really fast, and when finally we all picked what we wanted, she left, never explained anything, they give us the options for soup, 3 toppings for that and then the normal grill experience, however they bring all at once, no space on the table they didn't give us what we picked they just started giving all the meat randomly, then when we asked what was going on she told us that everything was for everyone so what was the point on give the choice for 3 things for person, well to no make this super Long, horrible experience, the food was good, but the service 0 stars, I will never coming back.

This place isnβt terrible but itβs not worth the money. Itβs mid. The bulgogi beef had so much hard fat it was like inedible. The little app station is filled with clearly frozen fried foods that werenβt hot. They give you warm tap watered refills ( like atleast put ice in it). And the ice cream in blue bonnet singles that they keep in the plastic cup and Serve it to you in one of their bowls just looks cheap and tacky for the price your paying for dinner..server was super slow and got two things wrong I ordered. I wouldnβt come back here again.

I will never know if their food is good or not.
We went online to get reservations. They had a wait-list. Ok. Cool. It was a two hour wait-list. No problem! We have time.
I get ready at the house and half an hour into the wait time they send a message that a table is ready for us and will be held for ten minutes.
Umm... We are 15 minutes away.
We get into the car and haul as fast as we can to the restaurant.
On the way in we get a message that we have been kicked off the wait-list and our table has been given away.
Walking into the restaurant we see countless signs that say the wait-list is not accurate (hmm good information to have after the fact).
We get to the host stand and let them know what happened.
They look at us and tell us that there are now going to be quite a few tables in front of us. I refuse to get onto another wait-list that is two hours, or whatever ephemeral number it is at now.

Reason for the 4 stars is best explained this way.
The waiter was very attentive. However, at nearly every visit to our table, he tried to "upsell" us from the hot pot menu we chose to work from when we ordered.
The other items on the much menu were much heavier than we wanted for lunch.
We were there for hotpot soup and appetizers.
This is an all you can eat restaurant, but don't try to get me to buy everything on the menu, each time you return to the table.
I felt as if I were in an endless Ginsu knife commercial where they kept saying, "but wait there's more"..... let me decide how much I want ONCE, and leave it at that.

I've been here twice and enjoyed the experience both times. Sometimes there's a wait-list so be prepared to wait a while (on-site or off site) if it's busy. Kids seem to have fun cooking their own food. The smoke wasn't a problem because the vents have adjustable heights. They switch out your grill often due to food sticking. My complaints would be that the asparagus they serve you is the "bottom" part which is often discarded and is very chewy. Also, you cannot just get the lowest tier of food on the weekend, you have to get the low and medium tier at least. Regardless, you would probably be disappointed if you're vegetarian, unless you go with the hotpot. Lastly, there's an upcharge if your table chooses hot pot and the bbq.

We've been here twice. The meat ans vegetables are fresh. The herbal broth is great, and I didn't detect MSG if anyone else is concerned.
First time we went our server was ok, kind of quiet but did a good job serving. 2nd time we went, we had Nicky serving us and he was friendly, patient, and an excellent hot pot server that had great table management which is necessary but end up with lots of plates on the table. I took my teenage boys and they enjoyed it. And will be back requesting to be served by Nicky.

I was excited to try this Japanese BBQ restaurant for my birthday, but I knew something was wrong as soon as I walked in. My family and I had set reservations, hoping for a special night out. Unfortunately, the A/C was out, making the restaurant unbearably hot and uncomfortable. Despite the delicious-sounding menu, it was hard to enjoy anything in the sweltering heat.
The staff seemed aware of the problem but didn't offer any solutions or apologies. Sweating through our meal, we couldn't fully appreciate the flavors or experience. It was a huge letdown, especially for a birthday celebration.
I would love to come back once the air conditioning is fixed, but this experience was incredibly disappointing and not worth the discomfort. Until they address their A/C issues, I can't recommend this place.

Food is mediocre as it is literally mostly unseasoned raw meat you cook yourself but its still very enjoyable to cook it yourself and it is effectively a buffet.
I would recommend it simply for the fun if nothing else, great group or double date spot for sure.

My wife and I came to this place for Mother's Day. It was super busy and crowded and an hour and a half waiting for a table. Our waitress was super awesome and treated us very well. She was on point with the service. The food was great! We had Shabu and the grilled meat as well. Very good flavor and had that authentic Shabu feel. It remained me of the 3 years I spent living in Japan. The atmosphere was OK since it was crowded it was very noisy and kind of hard to talk. However, what was NOT good was the constant staring from the people with the beige shirts on and some of the workers as well. They stood on the corners watching the room and staring at the patrons. It almost felt like they were hovering over you while you ate, and that was NOT COOL. It made us feel very uncomfortable. It was like they were trying to make sure that everybody paid their bill and not dine and dash. It's a shame because it could have been a pleasant experience. Instead, we rush to get out of there because of how uncomfortable we felt from all the staring. I hope they can change that aspect. If not, they will lose a lot of customers.

Absolutely amazing service here! Not only was our server attention but so was everyone else. The appetizer bar was fully stocked with great options, and absolutely anything you can want is on the menu. Itβs a little pricey but you can absolutely get your moneyβs worth.

I love this place! It became my favorite restaurant when my friend introduced me. We love the hot pot. I love the spicy base soup! U can add seasonings to it and make it taste like u want. ππ€€ and everything you get is yummy and fresh.

After spending around $100 for two people, we realized that we just ate a $5 bowl of soup. Talking about zero flavor.

First time at this place. Food was good, if you like cooking it yourself. Service felt rushed. Even with their 2 hour limit, we were rushed out of our table.

Iβd been looking around SA for a Korean/Japanese bbq spot and this would definitely be the place to go!
While the salad bar has limited options, I think the real prizewinner is the hotpot/bbq itself. Definitely would go again.

Donβt waste your money they have way too many rules, everyone has to order the same meal plan, you have to pay for drinks, 120minute time limit, cooking times are not accurate, hot plates have to be changed frequently due to burn and sticking, they charge you for leftovers and thereβs only one cooktop per table, we had a party of 6 and one cooktop but everyone gets 3 meal options it made it hard to eat with so much food to be cooked and not enough space to eat , hot pots are also $5 more.

Always an amazing time! Been coming here a lot and the staff and service are great! Food is good with numerous options and a generous time frame to try them all.

If I could give more stars for service I would. From when I came through the doors to when I left I was welcomed, seated promptly, waited on immediately, menu explained and food started coming. Now let's talk the food, do not skip the shabu, it is a 5 dollar additional fee, but we'll worth it, and the mushroom choices are soo tasty. I had shrimp, steak, kalbi, salmon and they were all very good. Definitely coming back Herr, bring your appetite.

This is the first time we came to eat here (really wanted a anime foodie night for my birthday) and it was AMAZING for a first timer the staff was so friendly and explained everything how it worked and they checked in every few times if we wanted more items , so friendly and helpful. The food was beyond imagination it was so tasty and fresh. I will be recommending this to my friends in the cosplay/ anime community for san antonio and belgium (europe) for my traveler friends. AMAZING all i can say for this place and we will be back thank you for bringing my otaku fangirl dreams into reality

We had a great experience dining here today , the meats where very good and they had a large selection and options from BBQ or Shabu Shabu the best part was the wait staff were very attentive to us and came around to check on us throughout the entire meal .

Ms. Paige was our server, and she was beyond perfect. Explained to us the menu, let us know of any additional fees, and not once did we ever ask for a refill of our drinks. She checked in on our table to see how we were doing at all times. Asked if we needed anything else. Her service was second to none. If you ever go to Wild BBQ, ask for Ms. Paige, you will not be disappointed with her service. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere of the restaurant was great too. Everything was just amazing. It was my family's first time there, and we will definitely be coming back here again.

Stopped in on a Saturday night for date night and we had such a lovely time. The wait time was about 1.5 hours but definitely worth it!! Service was amazing and the food was even better. We did the all you can eat and ordered their 3 cheesecake bites for dessert. 10/10

Food - wide selection and DELICIOUS. So good. Even if you get the BBQ or just the soup, you're going to be happy and leave full.
Service - there wasn't a wait time so we were immediately seated. Server explained how the restaurant and service works, which we were grateful for!
Ambiance - It brought me back to my time in Okinawa.
Overall, we had a lovely experience!

I'm actually very easy to please when it comes to food, service, and the atmosphere of places.. this restaurant is one of my go-to whenever I crave bbq. Not only is the food great, but the servers are attentive as well. Price is not bad at all and is worth it.

Signed the waiting list at 6:52pm with a party of 6. Told to wait 30mins. The hosts literally sat everyone that came after us almost immediately! Parties bigger than ours that signed in AFTER us. 45mins goes by and we ask how much longer. The male host said 20-30 mins more! My family and I felt very discriminated against, and it broke my wife's heart because our first time was great. We left and we immediately got the notification they took us off the list. They ignored us, and didn't even try to help us.

First of all my experience may not be like anyone else's this is based on my opinion of my experience here. Let me start off with service and wait time and service was very friendly and welcoming we were given a brief run down on how to go about the menu and items we can choose from. The options are many to choose from but priced fairly in my opinion yes it was expensive for myself and someone else but for the amount you choose from it's so much. One thing to keep in mind you are given 2 hours for your meal I believe is more than enough time to enjoy it all from start to finish service was fast by the time we got our drinks and checked out the sauce bar along with appetizers our meal was already waiting for us to cook and devour. Another thing to keep in mind is do not over order doing so will cost you if you have an excess of food left over DO NOT be wasteful they will charge you for left overs luckily I did not not leave much if anything so I didn't get charged they extra . As for the wait time it was very fast. As for the food and drinks depending on what you choose or will choose so the way to look at the menu depending if you go alone or with a group you will be given time to strategize how you want to order what I mean by that is if order something it's a shared plate to split between other you can order what you would like and still have more than enough to go around. So with that being said you can get everything and more again depending on the size of the group. For the drinks I highly recommend looking into the happy hour drinks from the section they indicate will be 50% off please do not go in to get smashed enjoy yourself and make it home safely. As for the environment for its medium size open and chill again do not lose yourself here it's calm and down to earth. For my overall experience I love it here yes it was pricey for me but it made it up in quantity and quality of food and selection love that sweets are also included in the price depending on which option you selected for the most part I highly recommend going here if you are truly hungry I am not a small guy and can put down food easily this place had me going pretty good I left full and getting ready for a food nap. As for the the establishment thank you very much for the amazing experience never felt like I had to hunt down the waitress very quick and on point very friendly I look forward to coming back with hopefully more people keep up the amazing work and overall incentivise all your workers I know without them you couldn't get this lengthy comment from me thank you again for the amazing experience and have a great day or night.

This is our favorite in San Antonio. Great service, great choices for barbecue and shabu shabu. Make sure to get in line early if you go on the weekends this place gets really crowded.

Food was good, but I would not come again. We came for the Shabu Hotpot. I tried the Golden Soup, a Chicken Broth-like base first. It was too salty but they graciously swapped it out for the Tom Yum soup. It was spicy yet citrusy, but it took a few minutes for them to bring it out, which was disappointing as I had multiple plates of raw meat left. My partner had the Szechuan Spicy, a spicy herbal broth; exactly what she wanted.
The service was great, our waitress suggested plenty of rice to eat with our meats and vegetables and checked on us if we needed anything.
Now on to the bad, you need to utilize the "Sauce Bar" to help with the lack of flavor diversity in your hotpot base soup. Unfortunately, after a while, the lack of change in flavor made the Sauce Bar the real unsung hero; we were able to have more flavor. I got Soy Sauce and the Signature Sauce, which was really a sweet and sour sauce (The sauces definitely helped with eating our food). The Sauce Bar also had Sesame Balls, Chicken Nuggets and Fries, Takoyaki, Kimchi (not spicy, which was disappointing), Seaweed Salad, and Fried Shrimp. Finally, we wanted to end our all-you-can-eat meal with some ice cream dessert. To our surprise, It was a small plastic cup of heavily-factory-made ice cream cup, like the type from a school cafeteria. This was a bit jarring, as the dinner/Prime Shabu selection in total for two was 71 dollars.

This experience was delightful, since the moment we arrived. We had to make a reservation before hand, around 2-3 hours before. They had a table ready for us. The patience and service from the waitress was awesome. The owner even explained to us at detail how the bbq worked.

I was very impressed! A friend told me to check it out with my wife, and we did last night. We both had the Shabu/hotpot with "all you can eat" ingredients. I can't lie, I didn't enjoy the base soup I chose, so perhaps asking the server what is popular would be a good idea next time. And there will definitely be a next time!
Other than me not liking that Orange soup, everything else was EXCEPTIONAL!! The experience was unforgettable, from the great service to the "all you can eat" salad and sauce bar, and especially cooking the food at the table in the pot, we thoroughly enjoyed! I'll have to thank my friend on Monday!

The food here was so well prepared and explained. Yes, you cook everything yourself, but the quality of the products matters, and they had top-notch quality. We loved the experience that this restaurant offers and easily became one of our favorite spots!

Food is ok. Beef short rib is really good. The worst is the miso steak it tastes like fried bologna if you're into that sort of thing. The food in general tastes like what you season or sauce it with. They apparently time you to cook and eat (loosely enforced) yet they take forever to come around with the meats. You have to flag them down in order to refill the meats. This place is exceptional if you like paying a high price for sauces.
