Ramen bowls & sushi served in a bright destination with playful decor & an indoor/outdoor bar.
Came in for an afternoon meal and was greeted and seated. This joint has an area of seating that is inspired by Japanese customs of sitting on the floor when eating. Our host seated us there, which threw us off, as he did not ask if we would've preferred sitting there. The seating was a bit awkward and a bit tight, with no back support. Thankfully, our waitress allowed us to move to a proper booth.
I kept it simple with a bowl of the pork tonkatsu ramen. The Mrs. chose a salmon tower thingy along with a sushi roll, filled with salmon skin. The ramen was good and the pork was very tender. Not bad for under 12 dollars.
The Mrs. wasn't too ecstatic about the sushi roll, as the textures were off. We also both noticed that the sushi rice was a bit mushy and the slices of the roll were uneven. We did order bang bang shrimp, and it was very good.
In the end, this joint is passable if you're seeking a quick bowl of ramen for a decent price.

Wonderful establishment... great food, fast and friendly service and a very lively environnment. Sushi was exceptional, especially at the amazing happy hour prices they offer from 3-6 weekdays. It was a little loud and kibda hectic and a large portion of the seating is large table where they sit multiple, different groups at the same seating. We were looking for something a little more cozy and the booth we got totally sufficed. If you want a popping, energetic afternoon sushi session then is right up your alley. I'd come back, of for nothing else than the happy hour prices. That is a huge selling point.

Super busy but service was quick because I opted to sit outside. Ramen ingredients were plenty and flavorful, but the broth was slightly bland. Handrolls met expectation and the sashimi was ok. The pigears were flavorful. Overall, this place is worth trying.

Came here to be my cousin after 30 Years Pl. was really nice. Food was good but the chicken from the appetizer menu was really hard and tough like it was overcooked that everything else was perfect. Great place in San Antonio to check out for happy hour.

We love the food, but unfortunately the service sucks. Went today at 5pm and the kid that takes you to your table is rude as hell. We asked "can we sit outside?". He completely ignored us, got the menus and took us outside. So I guess that's a yes? Then our waitress didn't come very often. Ran out of water and didn't get more till I finished my food. I used to be a waiter, a good one, so I know what it takes, idk who trains these people.

Sat at the bar. Service was friendly. The place had a weird smell to it, kinda like a wet rag kind of smell. I had their pear martini and it was good. Their tuna tower was different, i think it had cilantro in it, but it had a strange taste. We got two rolls, and we weren't wowed. I have always driven past this place and had better expectations.

Came for happy hour. The tsukune and chicken karaage were good. I also like the onsen tamago that came with the tsukune. Sushi rolls were also good, but small and overpriced even for happy hour. The takoyaki was clearly made from frozen and was not fresh. Would not recommend it. Service was good.

First time eating sushi in a long time. Marcus was our friendly server and gave great recommendations. Food arrived fresh and timely. A nice and unique dining option for the area. Looking forward to visiting again.

I’m shocked how much this place has changed. It used to have such a clean and modern decor. The food itself was ok. We sent back sushi that was obviously bad.Do not get the Uni. It was so mushy that it barely stayed on top of the rice. What sushi chef would serve that? The servers looked like they really didn’t want to be there and it was just a terrible experience overall. The only thing we enjoyed were the cocktails, so I guess this place at least deserves a three stars.
Update: Well I wanted to see if the place was any different. To start off, we sat at a table weirdly facing the kitchen and bathroom. Like, who remodeled this and thought this view would be enrich the dinner experience? Very unappetizing. The servers are still very unhappy. It took like 10 minutes for the server to take our order. And then preceded to tell us the sushi would take 20 minutes or more. I guess they are short staffed or just really slow at making sushi? Everything took forever to come out. I ordered Hana sake, which you would think would be a simple process of taking it out of the fridge. For some weird reason, the ramen order came first and then minutes after edamame was brought it. Then the sake. So weird. Just a hot mess. The sushi was decent. The crème brûlée was not worth it. Just a big disappointment every time. 😔

Best ramen I've ever tasted in San Antonio! And the pork belly in the tonkatsu is hands down best pork in ramen I've had, EVER. The fritters have a bright and fresh yellow corn taste! Service with Angelique was great! She did an excellent job with timing our meal all together...even when we had trailing people and orders! Definitely going back!

I loved coming here but I just saw my server wipe her nose with her hand and not wash her hands. She then attended the table next to me. I lost my appetite. The manager was not on duty so all of the female servers were playing on thier phones. The only exception was a male server who was cleaning tables. I loved the karrage and ramen from here, but I will no longer be back.

If I can give them 10 stars I would.
Ramen: best Japanese food in town hands down. All the ramens are packed with flavors. Tonkotsu was flavorful, the pork belly was tender and charred, bamboo shoot was succulent, the eggs were perfectly half boiled. The spicy miso was also very flavorful and had the perfect spicy kick to the broth. The dry garlic noodles were thick and succulent and hands-pulled so had the perfect springy to the bites.
Appetizers: so good. If you go during happy hour after 3 pm, prices were very reasonable. The peppers were perfectly seasoned. The samurai ribs were best ribs in town. So juicy and tender. The pig ears were nicely seasoned. The edamame was seasoned well, as well as the bang bang shrimp. Super juicy. I can go on and on!

One of my favorite places to eat in San Antonio, recommend it to everyone. Their tonkatsu is my favorite by far & I have tried several from various restaurants around town. The service is usually excellent, the wait staff is always very kind. Food is brought out quickly, bar is quick with drinks as well. The happy hour is excellent. I do miss when the corn balls were much larger! I would also like to see an update on the desert menu. ;)
The shishito peppers & karaage are my faaaav app. The gyoza & edamame are great as well. Takoyaki is good & the ginger sauce they use is amazing.

Best tonkatsu ramen in town which is crazy because it might also be the cheapest. Happy Hour menu is also top notch. Love the crudo. I guess they make their money on volume because the place is usually busy. Best way to do it when you’re dealing with fresh perishable products.

The chairs are extremely uncomfortable!!!!. I'm always in pain from my thighs and bottom and get a awful red chair indent on my thighs after sitting on those god awfully uncomfortable chairs, The only seats that are comfortable are the booths, one of the male hostess with red and black hair was being rude and got so frustrated with me because i didn't like how uncomfortable the chairs are, if The owner or manager care at all about your customers comfort while eating, please for the love of God change those chairs. Maybe Get chairs with cushion that are faux leather so it's sanitary to wipe down, not those dirty flat pillows you have for thousands of people to sit on that are so unsanitary. Also you should change the bathroom locks, where when it's locked it says it's being used. They do sell locks like tha for bathrooms, It's not fun to constantly be knocking on the door when you can barley hear anyone because its so loud in there to hear if someone's in the bathroom. Also everytime I go to that restaurant the same exact songs are on and play over and over again. Maybe change it up to something more relaxing because the musc is so loud in there I feel like I can't enjoy having a conversation.

Horrible customer service, I asked the waitress at the bar for an item and the bartender (curly hair Hispanic dude) snapped at me while starring me down and keeping an angry face the whole time! Apparently he had just done the same to my wife and I was unaware!
After that rudeness and disrespectful attitude for no reason, my appetite was ruined and the whole time I was upset and couldn’t enjoy anything anymore! So unpleasant and uncalled for.
Food is sacred and the energy that goes into it goes in your body, I felt as if someone had just spit in my food with dark negativity and I cannot get over it… I am honestly very upset that you have to go through that when it should have been a nice enjoyable dinner! Instead it was a bitter experience spoiled with a horrible atmosphere and bad food, tainted! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Take out should always have soy sauce included in it! Simple orders. 2 cucumber rolls, a classic tuna roll, and a fancy salmon roll. Food was good but almost inedible because there was no soy sauce and we were on the road.

Going in the place looked a little run down and needs some TLC or a renovation. Service was OK. They were changing shifts, so the staff was a little more interested in chatting than taking care of the tables. We had some sushi rolls, and they were OK. I travel out of San Antonio quite often, and I was looking for a go-to sushi place. Unfortunately, this is not it.

Server did not care to serve us the happy hour menu. Even though we got there before happy hour ended and she got to us 15 minutes later. She said she had other tables and couldn't get to us in time. That is not our fault? We were there when happy hour was still being offered. She was light complected with blonde, curly hair. She could care less that the restaurant lost our business. I'm a server as well so I know very well how it goes, although I do not agree with how she greeted us and could care less if we left. Didn't even offer any type of apology or offering for us to make up for her mistake.

Was excited to try this place for the 1st time and was greatly disappointed with the service. Walk in to empty table but wasn't able to get to sit in one since of the lady said that we can only sit at the bar or outside patio 'cause we have a party of 2. Waiter face never seem happy, we were afraid to ask for anything that we need. Overall, we know we won't be back due to the lack of service.

The place is alright, the sushi was good, the sashimi was fresh, but there were some glaring problems. The place took forever to take my order or get my food even though staff was standing around and the house salad that came with the bento box was drowning in dressing and extremely bitter. Stick to the sushi.

This place has been a long time favorite of mine and today was the first time I left unhappy. We sat and got our usual ramen which was great. I also ordered a sushi roll - which came out after everyone was done with their lunch.. so at that point there was no need for it.. then to top it off.. it was smothered in mayo which being pregnant wasn’t a good choice. I ate one bite and let the waitress know I didn’t like it.. they didn’t offer a solution, just charged me for something that was late and that I didn’t eat. Very disappointed. Lacking customer service in this situation.

I'm gonna just put this out here. We went to celebrate my daughters girlfriends birthday. Great place great appetizers. We ordered I asked about certain items and ordered them after waitress explained what was in it. Every ody git there food I ordered appetizer so that came out and it was delicious. Everyone got their food but me. After about 25 minutes I asked about my rolls I had ordered. The waitress had forgotten to place my order. I really don't like sending food back or dealing with anyone without my food in front of me. We asked for a manager and we literally saw her tell the two managers Moises an didn't get the others name. They chose to ignore our request they walked by our table and everytime we thought they were gonna stop hey just kept walking. We asked fr them again we made eye contact and once again they made themselves both scarce. I understand accidents happen and I can work with that but when the waitress stated she had forgotten to put my order in and they were working on it. I look towards the kitchen and they are laughing with the cooks. I take that as a bad sign. We finally stopped the manager and explained our situation advised him what had happened and he didn't have anything to say no apologies or any remorse. I jokingly stated I didn't trust cooks because they could do something to somebody's food who complains and he said I know, at that point I canceled my order and told him we would pay for everything else. He still was a non - caring manager who made it seem like we didn't matter anyway. The waitress came and apologized over and over but we still think that the manager showed no interest in our situation. We may not matter in his eyes but we blow 200.00 easy at sushi places and I think if he doesn't care that's a bad image for this location and it will be a while before we visit again. Hope the owner knows what kind of image his managing staff reflects on the restaurant.

I hate to share one of my favorite spots in SA, but this little slice of heaven is worth it! It's my favorite Ramen spot in SA. Sushi is good, too, but the Ramen is my go-to. I eat here at least once every 2 weeks. The price is reasonable and the service is good. It's hard to beat this place when I am in the mood for Ramen and Sushi! I recommend this place and the chicken Ramen with a side of Ryu for spice. My other half gets the Latino roll with a side of ginger cream, her fav! I can't say enough about this place. It is truly one of my go-tos for a reasonable night out and good food!

This place has the best ramen in SA alongside great sushi. The service also incredible, I’ve been coming for some time now and they have an overwhelmingly friendly staff. I do miss some of the usual bartenders they’ve seemed to stop scheduling. This next is only a restaurant issue as it seems the management has a language barrier with English and lack of restaurant experience? Unfortunately not able to speak Spanish myself had an issue communicating, when they brought the one bilingual server too translate it seemed they treated this server poorly while doing so, which I didn’t appreciate. They then seemed to have the server handle this issue themselves? As I saw this manager continue to seem to just want to be a server or bartender themselves through my meal. Not being able to understand a customer as a manger in the restaurant i thought was unacceptable nonetheless. I hope the establishment treats their employees with better respect in the future.

We could just be imagining but we didn’t want to take a chance. Food was amazing, but service was bad. We didn’t get greeted until 15 minutes into the sit and no one refilled my water even though I asked. If you’re looking for good food but horrible service this is the place.

Food was on. Tonkatsu broth was good everything else to be desired.
I would have given the food at least a 3 star and even more of a the service wasn't so freakin terrible. Had to ask for a drink 2x, ordered a rainbow roll at 1:15 ish when it wasn't even busy. Drink was gone within the first 10 minutes and never was brought another drink or even asked if I wanted one. The roll that I ordered took 25-30 minutes. My appetite was gone and so was my patience. The server told me I should've asked for another one yet she never even came Around. She charged me for a Itty bitty ketchup thing of oil pepper that was like the bottom of the barrel and got one drink of coke the whole time. Will never go there again ever because of terrible service with attitude. I was visibly irritated and no one said nothing. They brought the sushi after 25-30 minutes and I was like I don't even want it. She's like "ok" like she didn't didn't do anything wrong! Crap service, don't have high expectations. I could only imagine this place when it's busy. It's happy hour for a reason and all I got was pissed!

Food was sooooo goood, the crispy pork ears, next time I'm sneaking in my own guacamole for that one, bang bang shrimp*Chef's kiss*, Takoyaki...omg tasted fresh. I had the Kimchi soup added bokchoy and bamboo, I wasn't a fan of the minced pork, but tried my niece sliced pork it was so delicious. I tried a little bit of fried ice cream the dough was to chewy, but the black seame seed creme brulee....I'll just say this it was different...but good. Overall I will be back!!!!

I really wanted to like this place more but I will never go back to this location and it is entirely on service and the combative way I was treated by the server. Let me paint the picture. On Wednesday March 13 my family and I went to the San Antonio zoo and boy was it busy due to the fact it was Spring Break. My nephew is a huge fan of sushi and he recommended this place.
I want to say it is a cute little spot in the Quarry area. We were sat right away it wasn't too busy but we went at an odd lunch hour it was about 2 pm. We had our server come over. Her name is MORGAN. I put this in caps so you the reader will not forget this name. She seemed nice enough quiet and standoffish even when my 7 yr. old daughter complimented her purple toadstool necklace. We went ahead and ordered plenty of appies 3 orders of Goyza dumplings, some Karage (fried chicken), spicy edamame, and some bang bang shrimp. I know that sounds alot for 4 people but we are huge fans of leftovers, lol. So then 15 min go by and our server MORGAN has not come back to take our order. I even asked a separate server to see if she could get her to come take our order. Not only had it been now 25 min but they also had some lunch selections that stated until 3pm only so I wanted to get my order in. Our server MORGAN saw we were waiting but she continued to just ignore our table. Oh I will say in the interim of the 35 min it took her to return to take our order we did receive our appetizers and they were all delicious. The Goyzas a bit more fried than we like but they weren't burned so still edible. The rest were extremely flavorful.
Server MORGAN finally comes over to take our order so we order 2 sushi bento boxes, a Latino roll sushi, and a Kimchi Ramen. My wife asked since now it is 3:10 that since the bento boxes were in the lunch menu if it was still ok to order. I told the server if there was an issue we had attempted to do it before 3pm but couldn't get her attention. So I handed the menus to the server and had turned to speak to my wife and the kids. MORGAN instead of going over to enter our order she deserves to bend down and advise me " I don't know if you can see around or how many servers we have but we are busy whether you see it or not !!!" I was taken aback and I advise her that I have been a server. I loved being a server and I was a server for 15 years and I advised her you do not speak to customers that way and in the nicest tone I could muster advised her to please get her manager. She continued to say words to me about how busy she was. I advised her if it was that busy for her she may want to speak to her manager after I do.
A different server came to speak to us and advised me that the manager was new and didn't speak English well so she was sent over by MORGAN. I asked if the manager spoke Spanish and the second server advised he did. I advised her I was fluent and to please ask him to come over. The name of the manager was MOISES. I explained what happened and occurred and he great and vehemently apologized, and advised that he would speak to her.
Another 10 minutes pass by and MOISES had to come and ask what our order was because MORGAN advised she didn't write the order down and couldn't remember what it was. My wife by this point was not hungry so we just went ahead and advised we needed one bento box and the Latino roll. Once again MOISES had to apologize for MORGAN's extremely unprofessional behavior. I kept seeing Moises speaking to MORGAN to bring our food and then to bring our check and both times I could see her refuse. So when Moises brought our check over I advised him that she didn't have to go ahead and refuse to even come to our table. I tipped Moises 25% and in cash and I advised him it should be for him since even when we needed refills the other servers now refused to come to our table at all and Moises had to serve us.
I will say the Latino roll was really good and the appetizers were great even with the subpar goyzas.

Nice atmosphere, amazing service.
The place is very nice looking, great people and fast service.
Unfortunately for us, I think the chefs might have been too busy.
Gyoza was good, but undercooked.
Karaage was amazing, best part of the meal.
Tonkatsu ramen didn't have much flavor, and was more of a milky taste instead of tonkatsu broth.
Now granted, we both lived in Japan for years and have had authentic, so I might be partial.
Would recommend.

We love this place. Unfortunately our service was not good at all. Our waitress Marissa, was NOT attentive, we had to call on her if we needed something. She would walk by to check on her other tables and not even look at us. Another waiter actually noticed we needed something, and he came and took our check. She also did not put in my order. My family was done eating by the time I received my meal. She also admitted that she forgot to enter it in because she was rushing??? As someone with waitress experience myself, i found this to be quite embarrassing.
Hopefully our next dine in visit will be different.

Pros
Sushi was decent
Salmon was fresh
Drinks were great
Ambiance was nice
Sitting was unique and enjoyable
Different styles of seating areas
Gyoza was the best dish
Cons
Bang bang shrimp over cooked
Karrage chicken was severely over cooked
Sushi fell apart
Salmon ceviche was not ceviche
Music was too loud
The food missed the mark throughout the entire night and the food did not match the photos presented. The drinks were well mixed and rations were great. The bartender did a phenomenal job. However the cooks failed my table and definitely would not recommend anything fried or any menu item with creativity. The salmon ceviche literally was a plate of salmon topped with Lettuce, veggies, and jalapeños. No ceviche flavors or lime aspect to it. The music was loud which led to us yelling at each other instead of talking. Besides all of that, the v experience was cool and the floor sitting area was a pretty cool concept.

I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, it fell short in almost every aspect. The service was ok, the food portions (except soup) being microscopic, the fried menus super greasy, bland and overpriced, and the atmosphere lacked any charm or ambiance. Overall, a disappointing dining experience that I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

This place probably has the best happy hour in town. Me and my wife always love coming here.

Reason for 2 atmosphere stars is that the sushi needs its own bar display with legitimate sushi-ya chefs. The music also needs to be close to nihon atmosphere to finish off their beautiful mural. This is the closest thing to a legitimate Japanese restaurant in SATX! 👌

Love the Tonkotsu Ramen here but the sushi is not the best I had. Love the atmosphere and service was fast.

I visited here with a friend for lunch. We both ordered ramen bowls, and I also ordered pork gyoza and she ordered a California roll. Our food was hot and fresh when it came out, and we enjoyed it. The pork gyoza was incredibly greasy, though. They were fairly busy so the service was a bit slow but that's understandable. We came during a cheaper lunch period, I guess, because the ramen I ordered was $13.50 on the menu and I only paid $9 for it. Nice!

Enjoyed this experience. Happy hour provides affordable drinks and eats. We had a large party and they catered to us all. Would recommend this spot if you're looking for tasty, sharable, small dishes.

Yummy sushi and ramen. I love the inside of the place and the servers are always super cool and nice. the food is high quality and a good portion for what you pay, and there are lots of things to choose from. Never disappointed when I stop by for a bite to eat here.
