Uchiko, child of Uchi, is the offspring of James Beard Award‑winning Chef Tyson Cole's original non‑traditional Japanese concept. While the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, Uchiko takes a fiery turn bringing smoke and char alongside the fresh and clean flavors that define Uchi.
Fantastic option in North Dallas, very similar vibes and quality as their sister place Uchi in Dallas but with a larger drink selection.
The place is pretty, very lively and comfortable, feels upscale. Atmosphere in general is pretty good.
Drinks are great, I had sake and it was pretty good quality.
Food is fantastic, many options, super fresh and well prepared. Our itamae was was very friendly and provided great recommendations.
Service as expected was also pretty good. Definitely on the higher side for prices but well worth it if you are into Japanese.
Will definitely come back.

We have dined with both Uchi and Uchiko numerous times in Austin and Uchiko in Dallas. I was. Very happy to hear that Uchiko is in W Plano. We stopped in for a happy hour and sat at the bar. The atmosphere is pretty simple and not fancy and doesn't feel very high end. We ordered the signature HH menu of 7 dishes. From fish to beef and finishing with a cheesecake, everything was fantastic. Sushi chef and servers were attentive and seemed to genuinely care. We thoroughly enjoyed the Hama chili and ordered extra. The Gem Lettuce was also a really nice and unique treat. The gyutoro was also amazing and melted in my mouth. Steak with the steak frites probably needed to be seared a little to render the fat more but overall was delicious and a very hearty portion. We will definitely be back.

No reservations and came as a walk in but expected it to not be busy on a weekday which it really wasn’t crowded. Only option was the bar so that’s where we sat which is okay but when you look around and there’s empty tables it doesn’t make sense. Our sushi chef was the sweetest guy. We picked out some nigiri and plates to share, for the taste-to-price ratio it definitely did not hit the mark. I felt the taste to be lackluster at times. Especially when compared to Uchi in downtown which is a sister restaurant. The redeeming experience was the dessert which is amazing. Only reason for me to come back would be the dessert

We have experienced Uchi and Uchiko in multiple locations and have never been disappointed. This continued that trend
The drinks were strong but well balanced. Our server Katy was attentive to our likes/dislikes and made appropriate suggestions that translated to a lovely experience.
Our highlights was the east coast oyster, gyutoro and hotate. However everything was beyond delicious.
We would encourage you to leave room for dessert. Most places disappoint in that respect however we all have always found Uchi/uchiko's to be phenomenal.
We will definitely be returning for more.

Words cannot describe the experience we had. From service, atmosphere, and the food itself, everything was perfect. Both of us tried things outside of our comfort zone, and had our minds blown away completely. We had pink dragons from the cocktail menu. For food, we tried pork belly, ribeye cap, A5 tartare, yokai berry, toro nuto, hama chili, karaage, buto kimchi, s'mores ice cream, and the milk and cereal. I'm sure I missed a few but everything was delicious. Every dish was meticulously curated and had balance of texture, temperature, color, flavor, and honestly, everything. Thanks for making my wife's birthday special. We will be back
Edited to add that every server and food runner was extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu. What a captivating experience.

First time there. Service was great. They have a good happy hour. Got so many different dishes, but our favorite was the salmon and yellowtail nigiri. The Waygu strip steak was ok, not great for the small portion to price. Chicken karage was pretty good though. Loved the vibe and the service. Give it a try if you’re up in Plano.

We went here to celebrate a birthday. It was our first time, party of 8. The best part of this experience was the service. Cole was great and above average in terms of service received. The food was average for the most part and some was below average and the portions were extremely small and over priced. You're better off going to Blue fish to get a better price to quantity and quality ratio. We all tried different things and not one single thing was great. Some things were good and some were very below average and certainly not matching the price. Ambiance is nice but the quality of the food could use improvement. Glad we tried it but it's not a place where any of us will be in a hurry to return to or recommend.

Service and food 10/10. The only reason I took out one star is for the hostess. We walked in and she was looking down and did not greet us at all. Mind you there was no body at the waiting area. I didn’t say anything and just stood in front of her until she looked up. And then she JUST LOOKED AT ME (?) like she was waiting for me to speak. I finally said hi I have reservation ( which I had to say hi first). The gentleman who stood next to her didn’t greet us either but he was very polite and friendly when he took us to our table. This was Saturday 12/28 at 8pm so the restaurant know who was the hostess. Please train your hosts better they are the face and first impression of your upscale restaurant.

Uchiko is just as great as Uchi in Dallas. The ambiance and service were solid, and the scallop was my favorite—so flavorful! We ordered the omakase, which was an excellent choice, but the sushi service was a bit slow, and the dishes felt too spaced out. Dessert was a highlight—the fried milk was perfect. Overall, a great experience with room for small improvements.

So happy we don’t have to drive to Uchi in Dallas anymore! A bit of a different style menu, but still quality flavors paired with excellent ambiance.
Make sure you get the rice dish - it is loaded with mushrooms and crispy rice texture.
Fun take on edamame for an appetizer.

Exceptional Dining Experience at Uchiko
We had an amazing experience at Uchiko, which lived up to the high standards set by the Dallas location. The food was outstanding, and the service was equally impressive. Our waiter was knowledgeable, welcoming, and made the evening feel special.
It was my wife’s birthday, and the entire experience was memorable. The concept is fantastic, though it’s on the pricey side—be prepared to spend if you’re indulging. We spent over $200, but the quality of the food made it worth every penny.
That said, I was a bit disappointed to see foie gras off the menu, though I understand the change. I wasn’t a fan of the s’mores or cheesecake desserts; the banana bread option from years past was far superior. I also miss the massive head-on prawns, which used to be an incredible highlight. If possible, I’d love to see those make a return!
Overall, a phenomenal dining experience and well worth it. We’ll be back!

From the start the manager is rude.
Food is decent but over priced.
Yes it’s in a trendy neighborhood but people’s are wearing sweaty ball caps, flip flops and sweats.
Better options for food with nicer atmosphere. Darna, North Italia, Fogo. Fogo has an all day happy hour at the bar and much more upscale clientele.
Two great AYCE sushi places recently opened in Plano.
Sushi Masa and Umiya.
Sushi Masa serves the exact same style as Uchiko.
Don’t waste your time and money here.

Nice restaurant with a beautiful ambiance. However we went at 5 pm on a Sunday. Not only was this restaurant just opened at 4 it was hardly any guests when we came. Our dining experience took three hours do to
The staff forgetting or mixing up our food order multiple times. We constantly had to remind our waiter about our food. Not only that they were out of mostly all of their happy hour items. For 178 dollars the service should have definitely been better. However will still recommend it because the food and ambiance is there. Hoping for a better customer service experience next time.

My fiance and I came to celebrate our engagement thinking uchiko would be perfect for us as we love their sister restaurant in Dallas. I made a reservation over the phone, and when we arrived we were seated at the bar. There were plenty of open tables and I never asked to sit at the bar over the phone, so knowing it was an engagement celebration I found it very strange we were the only people seated at the bar. We then asked to change to a table, which was kind of treated as an annoyance. The signed card was a nice touch but our server made no mention of a congratulations about our occasion nor was anything special really done. I don’t expect much but any fine dining place especially one that shares the name of uchi should do a better job at making a once in a lifetime event memorable. The staff at uchi made my birthday a far more memorable experience than my engagement. I can’t rate the food too harshly as we were there for the happy hour menu. The plates were small and the food was okay, nothing compared to uchi but for the price difference i understand that. What confuses me is that the menu is very similar to uchi and the prices of the uchiko non happy hour menu are very close to uchi as well. However uchi provided a memorable experience with impeccable service, amazing food, and a classy ambiance. Uchiko just seems to be lacking in those departments, and for the very small price difference it doesn’t really make sense to go to Uchiko.

Average. Having been to Uchi Dallas and other high end restaurants, I expected much more considering the prices are the same.
Food plating was basic, nothing inspired, the bare minimum one would expect from a sushi restaurant, fish on a plate. Flavors were fine, but it’s hard to mess up good tuna and a5 beef. There wasn’t a single dish that was unique or fantastic even on the omakase (chefs tasting menu). I thought maybe I was being overly picky, but the rest of my party was equally unimpressed.
Servers mumbled the names of dishes, I repeatedly had to ask what I was eating. didn’t fill drinks regularly. again, not the quality of a restaurant charging fine dining prices.
The restaurant itself was basic in design, looks and feels like a Pei Wei. Uchi Dallas is way more intimate and lends itself to the feeling of a really nice restaurant, not a fast food joint
I felt like this was a cheap attempt at a restaurant that knows it’s in the suburbs and can charge exorbitant prices while delivering less quality. For just shy of $2000 I definitely expect better.
Uchi would have never survived if it was like this. this place is just piggybacking on that name.

Overpriced relative to quality. At some point, you can’t charge Michelin star prices with average takeout sushi.
Visited 4 months ago
Had their small omakasa, total 6 dishes. only 2 with fish, no veriates. How about some different types of fish, scallops...? Don't need quantity, just quality. Although the hanger steak was cooked perfectly, but it had so much gristle, hard to chew even at medium rare. Not impressed.
Server just dropped the dishes, didn't explain what are the dishes, or what type of sauce, and when asked, no details. The place was not busy, many unoccupied tables, she kept grabbing the dishes before I'm finished, I had just took a bite of the lettuce, she grabed my chop sticks and the dish, then asked, are you finished? Although cute, not professional enough for a high priced restaurant.
Atmosphere was pleasant, good acoustic, can't hear the other tables.

So upset to this give this a 1 star. I’ve been an extremely loyal customer of uchi / uchiba downtown - it’s my favorite restaurant in all of Dallas. I was so excited to try Uchiko when it opened. My boyfriend and I went for happy hour and elected to do the omakase so we could try a ton of the menu. What a mistake. The omakase was $120 and described as a seven course tasting menu for 2. To us, that meant we each would receive our own set of 7 dishes, making each dish ~$8.50 ($120/14) which seemed to be the average price of the happy hour menu dishes. Turns out it was 7 dishes to share, making each dish about $17…. We ended up getting 2 raw fish dishes, an avocado roll, a salad, a beef dish, and a dessert. So if you counted, we actually only received 6 dishes that absolutely add up to less than $120. While the avocado roll and salad tasted fine, who goes to Uchiko to eat that? What a cheap cop out. And on top of that, the most expensive and largest dish (the beef) was such a horrible cut, my boyfriend almost choked on all the tendons. Since we finished the omakase still hungry and craving actual sushi, we then ordered a bunch of nigiri which was no longer at the happy hour discounted price. So this all resulted in the most expensive ($150 pp) and unsatisfactory happy hour meal of our life.
The one bright spot was our amazing waitress who brought us an additional fish dish for free since they wouldn't let us swap our omakase dessert for any savory food.
All in all, Uchiko still makes pretty good food but DO NOT do the omakase - it is an absolute scam and waste of money.

He makes the best food and drink suggestions and always makes us feel right at home!! Now onto the food, we highly suggest the wood fired edamame and the brussel sprouts to start and our favourite roll is the hotate, we also love the karage chicken!! Let me start by saying, WOW. We absolutely loved Uchiko. My advice is to go between 4 - 6 PM if you can; happy hour!
Instead of doing one of the Chef's Tastings (Omakase), we opted to do our own tasting. Some of the dishes that we had included Hama Chili, P-38, Edamame, Veggie Maki, Pork Belly, Foie Gras, and Maguro. Pretty much everything we had was sensational, while I will say that the Wagyu Yaki was good, but not great.
Don't be afraid to explore the menu. We got 11 different dishes and our tab was just under $200, not counting the alcohol.
Visited 5 months ago
I have to say, $330 for a pair of omakase is not cheap, so you don't expect a cheap experience. This has to be the worst omakase experience relative to the price. I have been to Uchi and Uchiko in Austin and they were superior, although still not the best.
The problem with letting the chef decide what to bring you, sometimes I felt they try to make you the cheapest sushi to squeeze out the most money. For example, one of our nigiri was albacore. That's right, the same tuna from a can. And there was nothing spectacular about the nigiri, just topped with chili garlic bits- how avant garde. So many of the courses felt cheap, plain and ordinary.
Secondly, the timing was way off. Some items came a minute apart, others 15 minutes apart. When I asked for real wasabi I waited 20 minutes while my sushi got warm and limp. I know it was a full house but they really should get more staff or reduce the tables. This was the worst service I've had for omakase.
Lastly, value is subjective. If I ordered what I know I liked, I think I could have ordered $165 worth of food that would have been amazing. For example I was told there would possibly be lobster but no lobster showed up. Then why would you tell me it was possible? Don't mention it at all if you are not going to bring it.
Would I do omakase here again? Absolutely not. I know the chefs must have been pounding out orders so they didn't spend much time. I just felt like a big money grab and nothing memorable besides the dessert. All together for our party of 6 with drinks, extra food and dessert, it was over a grand. I recommend Tatsu in Dallas if you want the best omakase.

We went in to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We mentioned that to our server as well- who wasn’t the best.
We ordered a lot of food and throughout not a smile or anything from her - no help with picking food when we asked what we could eat as the menu is different from Uchi Dallas. It seemed like we were bothering her while placing our order.
As for my husband we finished our dinner and then she says I have something for you for your birthday. Guess what it was - a salad. Really!!
I’ve never seen anyone do that. We eat at Uchi Dallas all the time and never ever have we had such a terrible experience with the server.

My sisters and I opted for the omakase, and while the experience was mostly positive, there was one dish that was downright shocking—it tasted rotten. I believe it was a piece of yellowtail, and to our surprise, the server insisted that the fish was “supposed to taste bad.” This was baffling, as no high-quality sushi should ever taste like that. The way she repeatedly tried to convince us of this was beyond frustrating, almost as if she was gaslighting us into believing that bad fish was normal. She later backtracked, claiming her “English wasn’t good,” implying that we might have misunderstood her. We’ve had plenty of high-quality sushi before, and unfortunately, I ended up with a stomachache the next day, which I strongly suspect was due to that dish. The manager did handle the situation more professionally, adjusting the bill and compensating us for the dish, but the whole experience with the server’s insistence was truly bizarre.

We left Uchiko Plano disappointed. We ordered the Omakase, expecting to be a superb experience, and although it was not bad, there is no justification for the high price (around $150 per person). We have been in several Michelin restaurants before and we are people who like to eat well no matter the price, but Uchiko did not deliver a high level food to make you feel good about the check.
Last but not least, the restrooms are unissex, and they were simply disgusting in a Monday night, around 9pm. Toilet, floors and trashcan heavily spilled with urine. It was such a disappointment, I am not planning to recommend Uchiko or coming back.

This was a truly stellar experience! My boyfriend took me here to celebrate our 5th anniversary, and thanks to the entire staff and chefs our night was unforgettable! We accidentally arrived a bit too early for our reservation, but they had a cool lounge in the middle of the restaurant for us to sit and enjoy a few cocktails before we were led to our table! (Cocktails were all elegant and creative!) Our server, Cole, was totally outstanding! He was so genuinely attentive to our needs as vegans and was highly knowledgable about the menu - his recommendations never missed once! Every time he stopped by our table he made the experience memorable and personal - including a couple of delicious tastings as gifts from the team to make our celebration really special! We will definitely be asking for him again when we return! Their vegan menu was impressive and we can’t wait to come back to try the rest - we loved the charred maitake, Nasu, avocado, and kinoko nigiri, sumono, chef’s veggie makimono, and topped it off with the lychee coconut sundae! The atmosphere (playlist, interior, lighting, everything!) really set a mood that was perfect for a romantic night out. The restrooms are also gender neutral WC’s - love to see this normalized in an upscale restaurant like this one! So excited that Uchiko came to us here in Plano, and we’ll be back over and over again to enjoy ourselves here for date nights, dinners with friends and family, and special occasions alike!

Not sure why but it takes FOREVER in between dishes, so ask your server to get all your rolls at once to avoid wasting your time here. Been here nearly two hours already, waited nearly 15 minutes for a roll. The food is not that good to be waiting a ridiculous amount between two pieces of nigiri. We ended up canceling our last order because we were tired of waiting and just wanted to leave. Ate elsewhere since we weren't even full.

Don’t leave without trying the pineapple desert and if you can, also the apple one.
Service was a 10!
A place not to be missed.

I love me some Uchi so when uchiko opened up, you know I had to try it! Everything is fairly similar within sushi pieces which they killed it. New, would be the wood fired grill items. We tried the New York strip A5 from Japan and it was bomb the cooked scallops were ok, I wouldn’t order that again. I told my husband not to order the salad but he did and we both did not care of it. Thankfully the waiter saw we didn’t like it either and took it off the bill. They gifted us this paloma crudo. Thankful for the gift but personally I wasn’t a fan of it because I do not like mezcal. It makes it too smoky and bitter. We also go gifted the coconut sorbet and it was very refreshing! My favorite dessert would have to be the s’mores that we ordered. Very riches and creamy. Can’t wait to come back!

Updating my review:
1. I’ll reiterate that the service here is exemplary. Going one step further, the GM reached out to me after my first review. She was so gracious and kind. We revisited Uchiko tonight. And I’m so glad we did. Anthony was a great server. We enjoyed our time here.
2. The dishes we ordered tonight were all outstanding. We had different sushi dishes, but also tried the food from the hearth. Specifically, we had the Australian ribeye and the scallop. Both dishes were outstanding. We really appreciated Anthony’s suggestions.
3. The atmosphere was vibrant and fun. We have every intention of returning.

1. The service here is exemplary. My guess is the price of the food is going to pay for the service, because the service is fantastic.
2. The food itself isn't that good. There are plenty of great sushi places in town; this isn't one of them. For the price, you would expect an elevated experience, but really, this place is just name recognition and show.
3. The atmosphere is good. It was freezing in there, such that one couple had to move. But it's fine.

As always, the Uchi chain does not disappoint. We got to try Uchiko in Plano for the first time for my birthday and I LOVED it. Uchi is one of my favorite restaurants so I had high hopes, and my expectations were met. The sashimi is fresh with no fishy taste, the tempura is fried perfectly to bring out an umami flavor, and the short rib from the hearth changed my friend’s perspective of how good short rib can be. As for dessert, the strawberry cheesecake is the best out of the three we had. Although expensive, I highly recommend trying this out as it’s worth it!!

My wife and I came to this Uchiko tonight (7/20/24) and sat at the bar expecting the same excellent experience as we've had at Uchi Austin, Dallas and Uchiko in Austin. We got the complete opposite of that service, I wouldn't be happy If I got the same service at Chili's, it was really that terrible. Not sure if this restaurant is too far out to keep the culture of the originals but I'd rather drive the extra time to Uchi in Dallas. They at least have service worth the prices of the food.

One of the best dining experiences I’ve had!
Enjoyed the happy hour Omasake 7 course dinner and added the Wagyu Hot Rock, Daily Oyster, Grilled Scallop, and Milk and Cereal dessert.

Uchi was known for its next level creativity and the ability to blend complex textures together. It was always "the" place to go for sushi. Uchiko unfortunately does not follow that trend. The food was good but nothing spectacular or something you want to come back for. One and done. Dallas has so many great options now.

I've been driving past the new location for the past year, just waiting for it to finally open up! I recently moved back from Houston, where I tried to visit Uchi & Uchiko as much as possible.
Uchiko Plano didn’t disappoint the legacy. Excellent service & staff who were incredibly friendly & efficient. The new location is aesthetically really lovely. You could tell they were still working out a few things, but that's expected with the newness. The valet setup is rather janky but free, so I can’t complain too much.
We did the happy hour 7-course tasting menu. Almost everything was great, except for the Steak Frites, which was incredibly tough & hard to eat. The lychee coconut sundae was a nice surprise.

I dined here for my birthday dinner on the opening night! The vibe was nice, the food was great , i had shrimp tempura , and oysters but I didn’t like the oysters and I got a complimentary hot stone steak, the cheesecake was deconstructed but it was really really well done , it tasted so good . I had lovely time so I went back with my friend but she got hair in her wagyu yaki, they apologized and made our meals complimentary and gave us a voucher too so we just tipped ,we were really happy with everything we had despite the mishap . Service was really great and fast considering it was packed . I will definitely come back.

Took over an hour for our table to be ready on a Tuesday night even though we had an 8:00 reservation. There was also a dog sitting in a woman’s lap at the bar which barked on and off the entire time. Isn’t it a health code violation to have a dog inside of a restaurant wherever food is handled that’s not a service dog? Otherwise, food was excellent but too expensive compared to other great sushi spots in the area.

Wow, what an incredible dining experience at Uchiko in Plano! The service was truly outstanding from the moment we walked in. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations throughout the evening.
The menu is a delightful fusion of traditional Japanese cuisine with innovative twists. We were blown away by the quality and presentation of each dish. Our favorites were absolute standouts:
The wood-fired edamame was a perfect start, with a smoky flavor that elevated this simple appetizer.
The East Coast oysters on special were a revelation, featuring a delicate shiso mignonette and shiro crème fraîche that perfectly complemented the briny freshness.
The Hamachi was melt-in-your-mouth tender and impeccably fresh.
The Wagyu hot rock was an interactive and delicious experience, allowing us to cook the high-quality beef to our liking.
The hama chili was a flavor explosion, with the yellowtail perfectly balanced by the ponzu, Thai chili, and orange suprême.
The attention to detail in both food preparation and presentation was evident in every dish. The restaurant's ambiance strikes the perfect balance between upscale and comfortable, making it ideal for both special occasions and elevated casual dining.

WOW! What an experience. Hai Hospitality consistently delivers unforgettable moments at any of their locations. From the moment we walked in, the host team was incredibly sweet and patient. At the sushi bar, we were attended by Hugh, our sushi chef, and Sannam, our server. The hospitality from both of them was phenomenal. They started us off by cleansing our palates with a nice sorbet, guided us through the menu, and took the time to get to know us, making the experience fun. As professionals in the hospitality industry, we were thoroughly impressed. Assembling a team that excels in both service and hospitality is no easy feat, but they've done it. If you want an extraordinary time with food and drinks that keep you wanting more, this is the place to be. Congratulations to the Uchiko team on their new location, and be sure to ask for Hugh and Sannam you won’t be disappointed!!! Also great job on the playlist! It’s so much better than it used to be! Really fit in just right! Thank you again Team Uchiko and stay awesome!

This iteration of Uchi is even better than the one downtown. The food is incredible. The service is incredible. This is definitely a place that we could call a regular for a great amount of time. Cole was absolutely fantastic and one of the best servers I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. If there was a reason to come back it’s for sure his service.

We've had amazing experiences and food at Uchi in Austin and Dallas, so our expectations were high. However, it was mostly a let down. We ordered several hot and cold dishes and none were memorable or very flavorful. Service was excellent and everyone bringing out food was very knowledgable. Unfortunately, the food was very mid. I ordered two pieces of Sake Toro Nigiri and it was very small pieces by comparison to other fine sushi places in the area. The dessert was something inspired by Captain Crunch cereal and it was just ok, not sure I crave Captain Crunch when out fine dining so I don't get this dish at all. Of 7 or so dishes we tried the highlight was the tiger cry charred wagyu which was delicious! The tempura was ok, but all other dishes were average to bland and I was still feeling hungry when we finished.

I recently visited this restaurant and, while the food was really good and service was a bit slow, I was quite disappointed with the restroom facilities. They have unisex bathrooms, which can be a convenient and inclusive feature. However, the lack of toilet seat covers is a significant oversight.
As a woman, I found it extremely uncomfortable and unhygienic to use the restroom, especially since every toilet seat had urine splatters everywhere .It's unreasonable to expect patrons to sit down in such conditions. This aspect of the restaurant certainly needs improvement to ensure a clean and comfortable experience for all customers.

We had an exceptional dining experience at Uchiko! The food was outstanding, with the Gyutoro, Hearth Roasted Lobster, and Akabanaa mocktail standing out as my personal favorites. The service was impeccable, and every staff member we encountered was attentive and friendly.
We were particularly impressed by the manager Kamar's hard work and dedication to customer satisfaction. His efforts ensured that our visit was perfect in every way.
We celebrated my birthday during our visit, and it couldn’t have been more memorable. My family and I are looking forward to our next meal at Uchiko. Highly recommend!

Uptown restaurant in the suburb. Uchiko offers the most elevated restaurant experience you can have in the north Dallas, Plano, Frisco area. There are many upscale steakhouses in the area, and many restaurants attempting to create an upscale urban vibe, but Uchiko is truly what you’d get at a restaurant in uptown. The vibe, food, and atmosphere is great. They also offer many cooked options for those not adventurous enough for raw offerings. Highly recommended.

Our server, Katie, curated a wonderful omakase dinner based on our dietary restrictions and preferences. She was delightful and extremely educated in the menu offerings. Both the drinks and food were delightful. The restaurant is clean and welcoming! Uchiko is wonderful addition to Legacy West.

Eh. Great service, presentation and atmosphere. The wagyu skewer was great but the sushi left a lot to be desired.
Not as good as the brand’s other restaurants. I may return for a wagyu steak.

Great service. The food is creative and fun, portions are tiny but as to be expected from any of the uchi affiliates.
Solid cocktails. The mezcal, passion fruit cocktail was especially tasty.
Happy hour beware/ go with caution. Although the happy hour menu is discounted plates as seen on the dinner menu , the sizing is about half. Drinks are about 40 percent the cost and are not smaller. All in all a good experience. I would def go back with a large group

My wife and I had a wonderful time last night at Uchiko. There is actually so much to brag about but I don't know where to start.
The restaurant is beautiful and has a great chi. Obviously, a lot of thought went into the finish out. We made reservations at 5:45 to hopefully beat the dinner rush; however, when we got there, it was packed. When we walked in, we were greeted by two very friendly staff members who escorted us to the cozy couches right next to the bar so we could wait for our table. Fortunately, the wait was only about three minutes … and that was fine by us because we were starving (which is bad to do when you are going to eat sushi 🫠).
Our server, Michael, was a true gem. His friendly demeanor and extensive knowledge of the menu made us feel right at home. He took the time to understand our preferences and guided us to the perfect choices. His thoughtful questions and suggestions added a personal touch to our dining experience.
On to the food…
In a word, spectacular!💯 My wife and I have eaten sushi all over the country, and Uchiko is definitely now in our top five. The presentation, the freshness, and the flavors were incredible, and each dish was more flavorful than the next. The fish was so clean, and the chef-prepared dishes were savory and unique. No soy sauce needed!
When it comes to dessert we were just about too full to eat another morsel, but Michael suggested the "Milk and Cereal" (fried milk, chocolate mousse, toasted milk ice cream, and Captain Crunch cereal. Holy sh*t! :) Soooo good and decadent (but light). It was ridiculous!!!
Upon leaving, Haley (the manager) stopped by our table, and Allie (the GM) met us at the front door. Both wanted to know how our meal and service were and if there was anything they could do better. This was a very professional touch.
Since this was the opening weekend for Uchiko in Frisco (Plano), our expectations were low that there would be a lot of kinks to work out. On the contrary, they were rolling like a well-oiled machine! Our only hope is they keep up the same high standards of service and food in the weeks/months/years ahead.
Thank goodness there is now phenomenal sushi and Frisco. We highly recommend Uchiko!
What we had:
* Grilled edamame
* Buta kimchi
* Scottish salmon (nigiri)
* Bluefin otoro (nigiri)
* Aji (Japanese jack mackerel)
* Spider Roll (softshell crab, mint, fried shallot, and apple)
* Toro nuta (bluefin tuna, blueberry lemon dashi, pistachio)
* Inari (crispy tofu, avocado, red kosho)
* p-38 (yellowtail, avocado, yuzu kosho, grilled negi, cilantro)
* Japanese sweet potato
* Milk and cereal (desert)
* Adult beverages 😉

Amazing food, service, atmosphere. The fish in every dish was fresh. We also had the “hot rock”. The wagyu in this dish was delicious
and perfectly paired with the ponzu sauce. Honestly, everything we tried was top notch. Our Favorite drink was the Subarashi, 10/10. Lastly, the cheesecake was to die for.

This location was amazing. The service was a 10/10. Hosts and waiters were very respectful and accommodating. They sat us 15 minutes late and to apologize they provided our table with free food. The food was extremely fresh and tasty. The atmosphere was classy and family friendly. I WOULD GO BACK AGAIN

The new Uchiko in Plano is a wonderful continuation of the experiences we’ve had at Uchiko Austin. What set this experience apart was having Tatiana as our server. From the moment she greeted us, she was very kind, warm and disarming. She made suggestions for our meal that were right on point. It was the perfect night in celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We are grateful!!

Newly opened Japanese (fusion) restaurant in Legacy West with an army of chefs behind the sushi bar (we actually recognized a few familiar faces from restaurants around the metroplex). Things will undoubtedly improve but, on our opening week visit, service was a bit slow (especially the cocktails) and a few items were mistakenly served to different tables. Staff were attentive and enthusiastic, however, and eager to explain the menu. Seasoning may be a bit strong for those used to more traditional Japanese restaurants, but I found foie gras enjoyable nonetheless. Nigiri options were also enjoyable, but the rice seemed slightly overcooked and a bit dense.

When I heard Uchi was coming to Plano I knew I had to try it for myself, safe to say they didn’t disappoint.
My server Angel made the experience flow effortlessly with his recommendations, there wasn’t one plate I didn’t love.
All food and drink came out in a timely manner and everyone that came by my table was so kind and well versed in the menu.
This meal was a exciting experience, I will be back asking for Angel again

My wife and I enjoyed a very nice dinner at Uchiko. We were excited to see a branch of Uchi out in Plano and enjoyed our meal. The service was excellent from the moment we walked into the waiting area and ordered a drink to the dessert at the end of the meal. We loved the fresh high quality fish, the brown butter snow crab, lobster, and, of course, fried milk. I think they are still working out the kinks in the kitchen (we had a random delay in our dishes and then three of them came out at once), but management noticed and made up for it. If you are looking for a high end sushi experience with unique tastes, Uchiko is a great spot. It is not quite the same as Uchi, but worth trying.

From the moment we walked into Uchiko, we knew we were in for a special dining experience. The ambiance was a perfect blend of modern elegance and traditional Asian aesthetics, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
**Service:**
The service was impeccable. From the hostess to our waiter, every staff member was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. They were more than happy to offer recommendations and explain the details of each dish.
**Food:**
The food at Uchiko is simply outstanding. We started with the "Yokai Berry" - a combination of Atlantic salmon, dinosaur kale, and Asian pear, which was a delightful mix of fresh flavors and textures. For the main course, we indulged in the "Hot Rock" - Wagyu beef cooked to perfection on a hot stone, accompanied by a variety of dipping sauces that elevated the dish to another level.
The sushi rolls were exquisite, with the "Hama Chili" roll being a standout, featuring yellowtail, Thai chili, orange, and ponzu. Each piece was a delicate balance of flavors and beautifully presented.
**Drinks:**
The drink menu is as impressive as the food. We enjoyed a couple of their signature cocktails, which were both inventive and delicious.
Our waiter
Lexi was the best
**Overall Experience:**
Uchiko is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary journey through the finest Asian-inspired dishes. Every aspect, from the food to the service to the atmosphere, is meticulously crafted to provide an unforgettable dining experience. We can’t wait to return and explore more of their innovative menu.
Rosie and Shay highly recommend Uchiko to anyone looking for an extraordinary dining adventure. Whether you’re a sushi aficionado or just looking to try something new.

I’ve never booked a reservation faster than when we found out that Uchiko was open at Legacy West! And we were not disappointed. Our server, Zachary, was awesome and the service was smooth and friendly (which is awesome considering it was their first week open)! We caught happy hour which was a plus (I grabbed a photo of the happy hour menu for y’all)! 😁
The Hama Chili and Foie Gunkan on the happy hour menu are my big recommendations- paired with the tsurai cocktail (which was a fab recommendation from Zachary) will have me back for more soon! If you like a cocktail with a little spice that isn’t too sweet but is refreshingly bright…the tsurai. Hands down.
We of course had a plenty of sushi dishes on the regular menu as well. Everything was fresh and had great flavor. The bluefin tuna options are outstanding- the loin (bluefin akami) is something I don’t see often and was very good. I love chutoro (I actually prefer it over otoro usually) and the bluefin chutoro did not disappoint!
I’m a HUGE foie gras fan so naturally we had a few pieces of the foie gras nigiri - I could eat this stuff all day long. SO good. The nigiri option is served differently than the foie gunkan on the happy hour menu - I enjoyed both but I think I prefer the more traditional nigiri style. Only slightly, I’d eat either one at any point in time!
My FAVORITE dish, however, was the kinoko nabe!!! ORDER THIS. We did get it with the gyutoro and foie gras and it was SO SO SO good!! It’s kind of a crispy rice dish- the mushrooms pick up the flavors and produce the most incredible flavor profile….its just SO good. Y’all, order this dish.
The atmosphere was relaxing, lots of natural light and a great bar area.
Super excited to have Uchiko as another fabulous dining option in the area! Y’all go check it out ASAP! And get the Kinoko Nabe! 🫶😁

I'll start by saying that my wife and I really enjoy going to Uchi and Uchiba in downtown, so we were excited to see a location open in Plano. We were also there on their third day being open, so I imagine things will get better.
We started with the Omokase for two, but the first half of our dishes only came with quantities for one (a mistake the waitress made entering the order). Then, we had a 30-45 minute gap where no food came out. At the end of the meal, we had the waitress just cancel the last couple of things we ordered, because after two hours we were done waiting.
The steak and fries, which is off menu, was easily the best thing we had.
The items from the menu shared with the downtown locations are better at the downtown locations.

I ate here during their soft opening and the food and service was incredible. The wagyu steak was the highlight but the uni, karrage, and negitoro were also incredible.

I do not know where to begin. I had a chance to visit Uchiko Plano to celebrate their grand opening and my birthday. The service, food (happy hour options), and mocktails were top tier. I had the maguro (big eye tuna), bincho (albacore tuna) and the foie gunkan (duck liver) nigiri as my first options. All of the proteins were at the perfect temperature, and the sushi rice was one of the best that I've ever had. I then had two handrolls (salmon and tuna). These options had some surprise heat which I thoroughly enjoyed. I also had the fried potatoes with gruyere foam and pickled mushrooms. I never would have thought to combine these three ingredients, but the gastronomy team definitely made the right choice when adding this item to the menu. I had two zero proof cocktails that had all of the great components of a finely crafted cocktail without the alcohol.
All in all, the food was amazing. I will definitely return as the menu offerings change with the seasons.

I look forward to Uchiko and I am so elated that there is one in the DFW area! Every dish is just delightful. They have a plethora of vegan options available! My favorite drink is the Island Heat! The service is great and i expected nothing less! Definitely a must if you’re in Dallas. I enjoyed all of the vegetables and they were fresh and tasty.
