Sushi Shack Japanese Sushi Restaurant. Freshly and specially made for each customer.
Very delicious food!! The 25.00 all you can eat sushi is decently priced, considering three full rolls anywhere else would cost you 40+. I got the spider roll, yellowfin, and the salmon rolls. The salmon was INCREDIBLY fresh. It was creamy; almost like a paté, a little nutty, and no fishy flavor at all. The spider rolls were crispy from the fried crab meat, and I was happy it wasn't an imitation crab. The yellowfin wasn't my favorite, but it was still a fresh piece of fish, so I'll give them credit. The menu itself was a tad confusing but it was probably my own fault for not noticing. I wouldn't have chosen yellowfin if I had realized the entire dinner menu INCLUDED the lunch. I would have gotten the Tuna. Either way, the rolls were fantastic, and I will definitely be coming back to try more.
The drink selection is sodas, hot jasmine and hot green tea, cold bottled Arizona tea, they have wine selections as well, and sake. They also have a soup and salad bar, where I chose a miso house soup and my friend picked a salad with ginger dressing.
The lighting is a little dim for my liking, but the decor is beautifully designed and welcoming. The server was nice and attentive. Overall, a great experience that deserves another chance to come back.

This place is one of my all time favorites for AYCE sushi in Dallas.
The dinner AYCE is one of the best deals in the metropolis.
The chefs are super quick at assembling your orders. The dark-haired waitress is super sweet and nice. She knows my bestie and I come often and she greets us warmly. She's super attentive with our orders.
The restaurant is so well-maintained and the ambiance is calming.
They never rush you here and you feel welcome to relax and indulge in the great sushi.
I will always recommend this place!

My son and I aren’t snooty about sushi which makes us fairly easy to impress. Thus, we genuinely enjoyed our AYCE dinner here! We were impressed by the taste, the creative options, and the speed! We’ll be back! The Brian Cranston autograph was cool too! Can’t decipher the other one and didn’t ask who it was…

We came to sushi shack looking for some good All you can eat sushi. We saw sushi shack did AYCE, so we gave it a shot. We came in on a Monday around 4pm. Lots of seating and they had some really good music playing. I love the aesthetics of the inside.
I did see reviews of the the rude lady. I'm pretty sure she served us, but I think she did a really well job and was polite. She attended to us very well, and provided great hospitality.
We did the AYCE dinner for $25 before tax. I think it was a pretty solid deal and the food was really good. The only downside was that the yellowtail roll had a wrap that was a little mushy/chewy, but other than that, the rolls were bursting with flavor. The best roll that I enjoyed was the sunset roll.
The bathroom was really hot from what my woman said.

First time here. The staff was very courteous and hospitable. The salad bar was clean, had fresh veggies, and was well kept. The miso soup was delicious. We ordered 2 rounds of sushi. Although close to 4 and last call, they let us slide and charged us lunch.

This place is great. The food is good and great value. Normally rolls go for like $15 each but you can have as many as you want for $16 (lunch) or $25 (dinner). We were able to get 9 rolls for 2 people. Sure we could have eaten more but it was night and didn't want to be that full. One thing that kept me from giving this 5 stars was the amount of rice on the all-you-can-eat sushi. It was twice the amount of rice you would normally get on some of them and that fills you up fast. I can understand the reason. You HAVE to eat the rice. Any significant amount of rice not eaten will be charged extra. So if you think you can just trim some of that rice off then you'll be charged extra for it. Also, anything you order you HAVE to finish. No leftovers. Still, if you get even just 2 or 3 rolls, it would be already worth it. This is definitely a great value even with the amount of rice. Definitely a solid 4.5 stars.
Update: subsequent visits the amount of rice decreased. Not sure if it was just that first time but now this place is 5star for me.

I just had the worst sushi experience ever. The waitress only served 2 tables at the time, yet she seemed indifferent and uninterested in her work. The sushi selection was extremely limited, despite being charged dinner prices. When the food arrives, the sushi rice from the roll is completely cold. The fish is not very fresh and the roll has a lot of sushi rice. We ordered 6-7 rolls for 2 people, and it tasted almost the same. I would never go back.

Got there for Dinner AYCE. Ordered 3 rolls and they were huge (notice the number in parenthesis is how many pieces per roll).
I did not like some of the rolls I ordered but I was still forced to eat the whole thing because leftovers are charged. Got full with only 3 rolls and left the place feeling sick. Two of these rolls had jalapenos this really upset my stomach. I did finish all but was sick afterwards. I really wish portions were smaller for AYCE. I did not get to try some of the rolls I was looking forward too. Ended paying over 30 bucks including tip for sushi rolls I didnt like but forced myself to eat anyway.

The female waitress/manager was super rude to me. Most of the one star comments on google maps are saying the same exact thing not surprisingly
Visited 4 months ago
Where to start. The lady in all the complaints was not just rude but angry when we came in. Literally murmuring snide remarks the whole time. I had just read the review where she added 20% instead of 18% and looked at my bill and guess what? 40. 40% gratuity on both bills on a 6 top. I didn't waste any time and immediately told her to fix it, which she did but all the whole kept making unbelievable excuses like, I've been here 10 years and I'm not stupid. I told her that I would excuse her behavior if she was but since she isn't, I can only assume she did it on purpose. Our waiter tried to steal from us. If she was a little nicer, they'd have more business and she wouldn't have to resort to stealing. We've been coming here for years and she's been nice in the past. Never coming back.

Went in for the all you can eat lunch… had maybe 5 pieces left on my plate and I told them I wasn’t a fan of the crab meat they used but if she needed to charge me for the left over pieces no big deal…
She comes back and points out that everyone in the restaurant is eating the crab meat and they seem to like it? I said that’s great but it’s a personal preference and I told you that you could charge me for it so why scold and embarrass a paying customer in front of everyone?
To be honest I was being polite by saying it was just the crab meat…. It’s $16 all you can eat for a reason. Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra and enjoy your food and dining experience else where… you don’t want to go cheap on sushi. And even for cheap, I wouldn’t feed this sushi to the homeless..

Been here a few times and everytime we feel uncomfortable. Food was good but atmosphere not great and rude waiters, we will not be back. I expected the auto added 18% tip because we had 5 people but our waiter took it upon herself to add a 20% tip instead when the service was not warranted that extra tip. Will not be back.

This place is BOMB. I didn’t know that a sushi place shutting down (shout out to the late, great Sushi Envy in Plano) would hurt so bad but this place has assuredly filled the void in my soul left by my previous, lost love. I can now love sushi again.

First I want to say this is not the first rude experience that has been had here. My interaction with the female who is typically at the register was honestly SOOOOO disappointing. I placed a pick up order through uber eats and requested extra eel sauce and spicy mayo. The order was adjusted after placing It for about $3 (assuming this was for the extra condiments) makes total sense. When I arrived for my order I asked the male if the extra condiments were inside he told me yes. Once I got to my car and checked, there in fact was not extra but only one of each (which is less than what the orders are even suppose to come with in general). Because of this I went inside , and the male I originally spoke with was busy so I spoke with the lady at the register. I advised her I just got my pick up order and the extra sauces were missing, and that we were price adjusted for them. She then rings me up again and tells me I need to pay again. I explained again no I didn't get what I was already charged for. The male comes over and I advise him they were not in the bag. The lady then pushes the sauces at me and said "just take them and go you're suppose to pay for them" and waved me off. This was very rude and disrespectful as 1. I had already paid for them they just failed to place them in the bag, and two I wasn't being rude or aggressive so there was ZERO reason for her response or actions. The customer service needs to improve as this has happened before as well with my friend. At least the sushi is decent tasting cause she really runs down everything else.

Great little hidden gem! When I went, it was $25 a person for ayce sushi on a surprisingly wide menu! The shrimp roll was my favorite, but some of their fried rolls were almost as good imo. Great place for the value, can't wait to go again!

I should have paid more heed to the reviews when they said the staff was rude. My first and last time I will go here. Their jalapeño in their rolls are jarred not fresh jalapenos. I ate the inside of a mediocre roll, but left the fried outside part. This was followed by a rude and condescending lady chastising me for not finishing everything. No one likes to be talked down to and scolded. I will not be returning to this establishment.

I ordered on DoorDash and this was one of the worst experiences someone could imagine. This place is worse than sushi go. There was a piece of flesh on one of the rolls. Also, the ingredients were anything but fresh. The smell though... the smell was horrendous! They put so much ginger in the box to mask the smell but when i took the ginger out... Lord help me i almost threw up. I am not one to leave a terrible review but yall need to know. If i could give 0 stars i would. I am literally sick after eating 2 pieces. Never again.

If I could give zero stars, I would. We participated in the all-you-can-eat sushi and it was decent, but towards the end of the meal we heard a large squeak and then saw a rat scurrying across the ledge below the ceiling. I’ve never been more disgusted when I saw a rat tail and a fat rat butt jumping over into the potted plant area on the right of the ceiling. The squeak was so loud that everyone heard it, but we were the only customers in as it was close to closing time. The workers all pretended they didn’t hear us and still charged us full price. Disgusting. I will never go back and I suggest you avoid.

The rolls were pretty good and my mom really like the ramen but we are NEVER going back here. Service was awful, they treated me and my mom like we were peasants and were VERY rude to us. They waited on the other guests hand and foot. They also charge you for the salad and soup each time you go to the bar and get some so make sure you look at your ticket carefully if you dine in. While I was eating my soup one of the waiters came up to the table and about snatched it away from me and told me that the little bowl i had underneath my bigger soup bowl was to stay at the bar to keep dust from getting in the other soup bowls as if I was supposed to know that and it was my first time here. Not a good experience at all.

The lady decided to get annoyed with me when I was ordering. Like I was new here and I needed to check the menu and see what they offered. The my food tastes like it was out all day the fish was mushy and not in the fishy way, it felt like it was thrown in a food processer and gelatin was added, it was also warm. It tasted like I was eating sticks of butter and grease, the miso soup had a HUGE smokey taste to it and not in the delicious Texas smoked way. The woman was rude, she gave us weird looks and rushed us. The inside of the restaurant is so unbearably HOT, I was sweating so much. I paid $40 just to quench a craving and ended up sick and throwing up. I would get a refund if I could. KROGER SUSHI IS BETTER!!!

Best sushi for the price in Plano. My wife and I have eaten here 5 times since we moved to Plano last month. Every time the food has been fresh and tasty. Yes, they do go a little heavy on the rice on their AYCE, but they don’t skimp on the fillings either.

Horrible experience, I came to the restaurant after lunch time. The owner and server looked way apathetic and serious. Didn’t ask me anything about seating or how many, I had to be my own host and server and approach them, very unwelcoming. Sat me ackwardly in the corner of the counter next to a family looking directly at me and a person on my opposite side, decided I would move to a table I wanted since there was just two customers. They got upset I moved, and completely ignored me and any service. After ackwardly sitting there for a good 15 min I walked out. These people are truly unprofessional and unfriendly beware 😂 lol!! EXTREMELY HOSTILE AND ACKWARD IF YOU MAKE THEM MAD, ie me just switching a vacant table to feel more comfortable

I watched the episode of Bourdain’s show where Chef Yasuda said that the main ingredient of sushi is the rice. The rice at Sushi Shack is missing the acidic flavor and seemed slightly undercooked. Putting that aside, the fish tasted great and the roll combinations were quite delicious. The Shrimp Tempura Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, and Salmon Roll were especially good. We also ordered vegetable tempura which was perfectly cooked. For the value, this is a great spot. Plus, our server was friendly and funny—just make sure you eat all that you ordered.

While dining at the restaurant, I must express my disappointment with the overall experience. The ambiance was not conducive to a pleasant meal, and there was a noticeable odor in the establishment. Unfortunately, the servers' approach left much to be desired. As patrons participating in the all-you-can-eat sushi option, we found their service to be somewhat aggressive. Cups were taken from our table without proper communication, creating an unwarranted sense of haste.
Moreover, the quality of the sushi was subpar. The portions were disproportionately filled with rice, adhering to the plate and overshadowing the limited amount of fish. The taste did not meet our expectations, considering the substantial cost of $150.00. The experience left us feeling dissatisfied, akin to feeling misled.
As we contemplated leaving after only our second round of sushi, we observed a deliberate effort to extend the dining time through excessive rice portions, potentially encouraging patrons to order more and incur additional charges. The server's inquiry about a third round, accompanied by laughter, further detracted from the overall professionalism.
It is noteworthy that an automatic gratuity fee was applied, a practice that, given the circumstances, left us questioning its appropriateness. Regrettably, this experience falls short of expectations, and I would caution others against choosing this establishment. There are numerous all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants offering superior quality at more reasonable prices.

My partner used to go here a long time ago and raved about the place, so we went for lunch. He's right, the value is insane. But I wanted to compliment the nice server lady who felt like an Asian auntie. We started ordering way too much food and she noticed before it was too late and told us to hold back because they're full sized rolls, lol. We got painfully full so we appreciated it. She was also really kind and down to earth to the gentleman who came in next to us and was having a hard time. She went and chatted with him extra in between taking care of customers, talking about this and that. We tipped her extra Everyone should have a nice asian auntie who tells you when you're eating too much but picks you up when you're down. Good food, good atmosphere, good people. Go here!

Prices are excellent, quantity and quality are to match. I love the staff here. They are honest and straight forward. If you find a deal you do have to ask for it when checking out. Mind you I have great reviews & have done over 300 deliveries with NO hiccups. She even went as far to YELL at me when I explained to her I’m not suppose to confirm pickup until the food is in my possession. Horrible experience & I’ll never do a pickup order from here again. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE PLEASE READ. I walked into Sushi Shack on 12/22 last month and I’m still telling the story of my horrible experience. I went for the all you can eat deal on that Friday. I walked in was told to sit at a table with my sister and my friend joined shortly after. When we got our first order, it didn’t look like we had gotten our shrimp tempura roll that we asked for on the paper. So I politely told the waitress that I don’t believe we received it. She then took my chopsticks out of my hand, spread one of the rolls apart and held (what she calls shrimp) a small cube like thing in my face. It was so close to my face I thought she might’ve been trying to feed me. She then said “do you see this?? Do you see this?? What is this??” About the piece of “shrimp” because I asked her if we had gotten the correct roll. She held it up in my face for at least 3 minutes as she berated me. I laughed it off as if that wasn’t the most rude experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant and I continued with the meal. Then, we asked for spicy mayo and it was 50 cents for each of us which is normal. However, my friend asked for more after she finished and the waitress said “ok pay another 50 cents” and when my friend changed her mind about getting more the waitress said “yeah, you have to pay, nothing is free in America.” Not the worst part but still odd of the waitress to say. So, when I decided to pay I noticed that the spicy mayo was on my check 3 times. I told the waitress that I think she charged me more and before I could finish my sentence ( I was going to say it’s ok just don’t charge my sister and friend) she cut me off and said “do you see this right here ??? It’s says ONE THIRD of 50 cents. Do you see?? Do you understand?? ONE THIRD ONE THIRD.” And I understood completely since I’m not an idiot. Right when I said “oh okay” she goes “YEAHHHH.” In the most demeaning voice possible. Also side note, we were charged 70 cents for every roll we couldn’t finish since it’s all you can eat. Now, I know that’s a thing but I’ve never seen it actually put into practice. We had about 8 rolls on the table and she counted each one and added it to our bill. However after she treated me like I can’t understand basic math(with her demeaning tone), I decided not to tip her. I would like you all to know I always tip around 18% at dine in restaurants. I’ll tip even more if the service is greet. I’ve never been treated with such disrespect in my life so I had to make an exception this time. After I didn’t tip, she repeatedly told my sister “tip is not included, tip is not included” because she noticed I didn’t leave one. Then, she gave my receipt back to me and said “tip is not included.” I refused to let her bully me into tipping her after she treated me that way so I just walked away. I will NEVER go hear again and neither will any friend of mine. I would like to note that I do NOT use the race card for anything but she was very kind to everyone else in the restaurant (asking if she’d see them next week with a big smile on her face) but was very rude to just me my sister and friend. We are Black and Muslim(my friend wears a hijab so it’s clear) and I believe this had something to do with her behavior. Especially the part where she assumed I’m stupid.

Rude women! The women here responded with a loud and impolite tone when I ask about the food.

Food is alright - seems on par with price which is on the lower end for sushi. We had the all you can eat for $25pp, and ordered some sashimi for $1.50 extra per piece. I wish we’d requested the rolls without sauce bc it’s on almost every roll and is a bit overpowering if you want to taste the roll itself. Rolls have more rice and less fish than I would like, but they tasted pretty good. Sashimi cuts are inconsistent but tasted good. Miso soup and salad are great self-serve on the side. Honestly just by taste, we liked the miso soup the best out of everything we ate. For only $25 AYCE, it’s a pretty good deal.

Absolute best place to get sushi in DFW. So fresh, good ratio of rice to fish, and the staff makes you feel like family!

Great sushi here. I highly recommend.

I loved the crab tempura roll and the Philadelphia both with cucumber instead avocado, as I'm allergic to it. Whenever I'm on this side of the metroplex this is where I come for sushi. I'm actually headed there tomorrow 12/4/23.

Really enjoyed our night at the Sushi Shack, we were in about an hour before close and almost had the place to ourselves which was nice for a date with my wife. I had the all you can eat with a variety of delicious rolls and my wife had the spider roll which she enjoyed. All rolls I had were fresh and tasty. Rolls are heavy on the rice but still very good fish to rice ratio. Finished with some tempura ice cream that was a nice treat, we will definitely be back!

Amount of rice per sushi roll is double the normal, I understand it is a business but you can’t sacrifice quality.
Visited 2 years ago
It's OK.
As many others point out, there is A LOT of rice.... it's really more of all you can eat of rice vs. Sushi.
Quality was fine.
Service average.

All-you-can-eat for California rolls but not for sushi pieces which are a dollar fifty each. Overall quality is average. Not worth the $28 lunch

Good, quick, cheap. Update: we went for the asll you can eat, totally disappointed. Fat rolls, over 60% rice. Had to deconstruct to eat it. Four bad rolls. Won't be going back.

It’s ok sushi, they make their rolls huge filled with rice. It’s not very fresh and it’s just decent sushi. Edamame was old and gross.

Came for the all you can eat which only had rolls as part of the option. If you want any nigiri, it's extra on top of the AYCE but it's discounted from the regular menu cost.
Overall, the rolls were solid enough. There's more rice and smaller pieces of the actual fish but the taste wasn't off or bad. I'd come back for lunch instead of doing dinner. Still I had no regrets and would come again.

The lady that answers the phone needs to learn to be more polite. Called to find out the price and was yelled out when I didn't answer and then talked to as if I was incompetent

Horrible pickup experience. The older lady in the front is very rude! Didn’t acknowledge me when I said hi, and turned away and shoved the bag of food in my chest.

I had never been to an all you can eat sushi place before and this experience was amazing. When i first saw the outside I was a little bit nervous as it looked very hole in the wall, but when i walked it it was very clean and had such a cute and cool atmosphere. I was immediately greeted by a server and she was very helpful on how the whole experience worked. The price is amazing considering how much you can order and how quality the food is, as well as how much they stuff those rolls! I came home feeling full and satisfied. I will 100% be coming back!!

Good sushi rolls flavors, but just the first round come fair. The second round of rolls that you ask for start to come with 70% of rice and 30% with all the rest. And they have the info on the menu about rice and piece waste charge. If you want good rolls where the pieces come with a fair amount of rice, you need to be precisely on the quantity of your first round.

Tried the Wildcat roll (minus avocado) & black pepper tuna appetizer both were really good. My friend enjoyed her Cajun roll (minus avocado), which I tried & it was good too. *Edit: I returned for the all you can eat & it was worth it! Next 3 rolls for $12 two shrimp tempura rolls sub jalapeño for avocado & a spicy tuna roll

It’s about the food you’re looking for something that has a squeeze it taste in your time of sushi needs. I will stop by here. Definitely all the other places around Dallas are hyped. This sushi is beyond the most wonderful exciting tasting flavorful sushi that I’ve had in Dallas no cap 🤠. I’m from L.A that’s California. Trust me when I say a 4 star is to low for this place on Guawd

I was craving for sushi and was looking for a buffet/AYCE place. Found this place based on recommendation on other websites.
They have different kind of AYCE, where you provide what you need and they will bring it to table.
I ordered spicy California roll, crunch roll and Parker roll.
As most of the reviews stated here, sushi were heavy on rice and tasted ok! Nothing great about them. Ordered the wildcat roll and it tasted ok as well. They had a basic salad and miso soup.
PSA: They have extra charge for food/rice wastage!

When you drive 20 minutes to eat and they aren't open AN HOUR before they say they close? Pretty frustrating. Fix your hours on Google

It's decent for the price. The way you order more sushi is a bit complicated .

Went there for an early Father's Day dinner to treat myself. Selected the All You Can Eat option as I had fasted all day and was craving sushi. The AYCE option is fairly inexpensive, and I know why now. I ordered the rolls identified in the photo, and they were delivered fairly quickly. Most of the rolls are fried, and the fish did not taste that fresh. The AYCE option was pretty limited to just rolls, and while regular sushi and sashimi were available, it was $1.50 extra per piece above and beyond the $25.00 AYCE dinner price. The decor, the food, and the menu were tired and dated. When the sushi rolls were delivered, they were poorly assembled, and the fish to rice ratio was way off. Each roll had too much rice and not enough filling. The crayfish roll that I ordered had no visible crayfish tails in the roll whatsoever. I can only surmise that they cut the tails apart to put even less meat in the actual sushi roll. The fried rolls were much too large, requiring 2 to 3 bites to consume each piece of the roll. The sushi rolls were average at best, matching very closely to the rolls served at some Chinese buffets around town. In fact, the Chinese buffet sushi has more meat in each roll. They use way too much rice in each roll and not enough other components such as avocado, cucumber, fish, etc... This place is cheap, but the sushi is not good. I don't recommend this place at all.

Didn’t get a chance to taste foods.
It was 21:20 when I walked near the place and decided to went in.
Lady looked scared and said they are closing.
As for me 40 minutes is more than enough to have some sushi.

I love this local Sushi restaurant and have been coming here with my family for years! They have lunch specials and a variety of food including Ramen, Sushi, Specialty rolls, bento boxes, & fried rice. They are my parking lot neighbors and I’m very glad for that!

For $25 bucks you won't find a better all you can eat sushi deal around. Yes the rice portions are a little excess but the price makes up for that. Would def recommend this place for all sushi lovers I got full after 3 rounds.

What a horrible experience.
1. All you can eat, $25. False claims about crab meat in their sushi, it’s surimi. Surimi is chopped up left over fish made to look like crab legs, which is high in gluten and low in nutrients.
2. When I pointed this out, they actually screamed in my face and pulled out the package of minced meat, (not crab) that they use while the wet bag dripped all over my sushi.
3. Surimi and imitation crab has a distinct taste to it, and it tastes nothing like crab.
4. Their service (women scowling at you/throwing your food down/missing table items), food overall and setting is far under par. I will never step foot in this place again. You’ve been warned.
