One of my favorite sushi buffets.

For 35$ you get unlimited sushi, sashimi, teriyaki, a drink, and desserts.

Great selection, I enjoy the shrimp teriyaki, and the hand rolls a lot.

The desserts include tempera cheesecake, Oreo, and banana. Ice cream green tea, red bean, vanilla, strawberry, chocolate

I had a disappointing experience at this sushi restaurant. We waited 15 minutes for a table, which isn’t ideal, but I understand it can get busy. However, things went downhill from there. The service was incredibly slow, and to make matters worse, we didn’t even get all of our order. A few items were missing, and we had to ask about them multiple times before they were brought out.

The worst part, though, was the salmon sashimi. When it finally arrived, it was half frozen, and biting into it gave a strange crunch. Definitely not the fresh, melt-in-your-mouth experience I expect from sushi. For the price, I expected better quality and much more attentive service. I won’t be coming back.

Good sushi and decent value, the all you can eat sushi lunch for 22$ is goated. I have a few minor complaints such as slow service and a few items lacking flavor profiles I was expecting but the staff have always been super helpful even when service is slow. The clear soup is good, but not the best I've had. It's definitely missing some ginger or other flavor. I also do not recommend the crawfish roll, I ordered it once and it was nearly inedible. However, when we let our waiter know he assured us that it wouldn't count against us for their leftovers policy on their all you can eat menu. They also had some sort of leafy vegetable like lettuce or something in their shrimp tempura roll, which was... unexpected. Didn't ruin the roll, but was definitely caught off guard. I recommend the fried rice and the snow krab roll.

I liked the dragon roll and edamame. The nigiri was not that good, but I can't complain since $21.95 is not a bad price for sushi AYCE lunch.

Service never been great, but we come often because we enjoy eating the food. Today during dinner it took us 45 mins to get our food because somehow the order got "lost". Server kept saying "it's coming". We've been in the service industry for 10 years and we understand it's busy. But in those 45 mins, she came by once. At least tell us you are swamped. How are you still hungry after going to an all you can eat restaurant? Super disappointed 😞

Been to and enjoyed the College Station location many times and the Plano location lived up to my expectations. Good variety of classic and special rolls; personally recommend the Nemo and Rainbow Rolls. The all you can eat menu is a good deal and you more than get your money's worth. There is usually a wait due to the high traffic but considering that the service is still pretty quick and attentive.

Been here a couple of times. The first time we went, the salmon was incredible! So fresh and fatty! They have lots of appetizers, but no cream cheese wontons. They can make hand rolls, nigiri, or sashimi. Everything was delicious.

The second time we went, the salmon was not as good, but still tasty. I guess it just depends on the fish cut available that day. Overall, would go back again. Service was quick, and got all of our orders out on time. Went on a Saturday and wasn’t that busy.

The food is OK but the serving is extremely slow. The waiting time between the order is 20 to 30 minutes and sometimes the order would come in wrong. I decided to leave even if I wanted to eat some more due to waiting time . It’s an unacceptable serving experience. I wouldn’t revisit them. If you have much idle time to waste it you can try, but you wouldn’t go there just to eat. First visit was very unhappy.

Sushi Masa was great when we went there October, but the recent experience was not great. First, we had to wait longer than usual even though there was only one person in front of us to be seated. We went there for lunch and there were a few booths available, but our request to have a booth was refused. Order was extremely slow and inconsistent. We had to remind the waiter for one of our orders after 25-30 minutes.

Now let's talk about the food. The presentation of food was absolutely amazing when we were there October. Quality of food was great too. This mid-December visit, I can tell the chefs who delivered the amazing rolls are not there. Very disappointed because we liked the place the first time and decided to visit it again and nothing was to our expectations this time. Fast seating, quick service, beautiful rolls and presentations, none of these was there this time.

Hope the restaurant keep up with the higher standards and don't let it go down.

For $21.95 AYCE this place is really good. The sushi rolls were super delicious. The sushi pieces were fantastic especially the smoked salmon. My only problem was that it took a really long time to get our food. Like someone else mentioned, what should've been an hour experience turned into 2 hours due to the wait times. We did come on a Saturday afternoon though so I'm not surprised that it's busy. Don't hold back ordering the first round or else you might start feeling hungry again waiting for the 2nd round.

Wonderful experience all around. The staff were attentive and courteous. We went early on a weekday, so there were some trainee waiters/waitresses, but they were very professional. We’re from Houston and we came in to celebrate my brother for the weekend for his college graduation and It was our first time coming to this location and we love the location back in Houston so we knew we had to try this one.

First thing. The restaurant itself is amazing. Huge and love the decorations and food. The food portions is great.

Second thing. Our server Brian was amazing. Always so attentive and knowledgeable and friendly and helpful. All of the staff was incredible. Give Brian a raise please

What impressed me and my family the most was how fast all of the food came out. We got all of our food before our drinks and definitely left us speechless of how fast it came out.

Next time we come to Plano definitely coming here and asking for Brian again.
Thank you so much Brian!

Probably one of the best AYCE sushi spots I’ve been to in the Plano area! Sushi Masa will probably be my go-to restaurant if I’m ever needing an AYCE sushi night. Came on a weeknight and it was still pretty packed, can’t imagine what it’s like on the weekends.

AYCE is about $38(?) pp, with a variety of sushi, rolls, appetizers (yakitori, sides, katsu, tempura, salads, etc) to choose from. Cool thing was each of us got a complimentary alcoholic drink for the first round which was awesome!

Favorite of the night would be yellowtail, salmon and escolar. The yellowtail was one of the best I’ve had in a while! Rolls were okay and not super spectacular - will probably skip out on that next time (I know, why did we order rolls at AYCE sushi, we were curious lol).

Sushi orders came out fast, but the rest came out a bit slow so just a heads up! Dessert also took an extra minute but wasn’t a super long wait. Will definitely be back next time!

I don't usually leave reviews, but I couldn't find any contact info for the company. I would much rather have discussed this incident with a reasonable team member. Very unfortunate experience because I loved this place. Never going back after this horrendous visit. 30 minute wait to start. Which is abnormal for 1 pm on a Tuesday, but, I get it... holiday week... got through the first round of food orders before receiving my beverage that came with the meal... short staffed, so I waited patiently, never complaining. Then, once ready to pay and leave... couldn't, because I was still waiting on my son's ice cream. 30 minutes waiting on this ice cream. When I finally couldn't wait any longer I asked for the check. The server agreed to give us the scoop of ice cream in a to-go container so my son could eat it in the car. The manager came to say, no, because it's their policy that you can't have any to go containers with AYCE. I understand that fully, but it also shouldn't take 30 minutes to get a scoop of ice cream, plus, the server had already agreed. I HAD to leave and the manager wouldn't run my card to let me pay. He kept standing in my face wanting to discuss their policy. I asked him repeatedly to run my card so I could leave. Finally, had to chase down our server to run our card so we could leave. He physically followed me and kept trying to discuss their policies. I paid, tipped my server, and walked out of the restaurant. He followed me outside continuing to ask to speak with me. He was extremely unprofessional and the worst manager I've ever encountered. Also, when he came to my table to tell me I couldn't have ice cream to go, that was the first time I had seen him in the almost 2 hours I'd been in the establishment. My poor server was trying so hard to keep up with all the tables and the fact that they were severely understaffed and he never came for a table touch or bothered to help her at all. We will never be coming back because of him.

I had an exceptional dining experience at Sushi Masa, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. Our server, Johnson, was truly a standout—he was polite, respectful, and checked on us frequently, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive.

The food was absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations. Despite our party of four, the dishes came out quickly, all perfectly prepared. The kitchen clearly operates with great efficiency and dedication to quality.

We also had the pleasure of interacting with Matthew, the manager, who was incredibly accommodating and attentive to our needs. His professionalism and care for the guests made our experience even more enjoyable.

This is the best AYCE sashimi spot in the DFW area. Problem is the tuna quality and service are inconsistent, some servers are good, some are bad, wait times are either really long or really short, and sometimes you get amazing bluefin fatty tuna for your sashimi order and sometimes the tuna is several tiers of quality lower. That being said, the worst tuna quality I've had here is still far better than all other AYCE sushi places like Umiya, Tokyo One, Sushi Kushi, etc. If their food quality and service was consistent they would be 5/5.

UPDATE- I’m now changing my review to 5-stars. Manager Matthew made my bad visit right and the handful of times I’ve been back since have been great.

##############

This was my 3rd visit. The first 2 were great- fresh food and quick service, even with a heavy crowd.

Today, service was super slow, food was missed and soda from the bar was flat. If I was trying Sushi Masa for the first time today, I wouldn’t return.

I want to love this place. The first 2 times I did. Today I did not.

The service is so slow that I’ve written this review while waiting an eternity for my food. I’ve also been brought the wrong food three times, while waiting an eternity for my food. And now to top it off, while waiting the eternity for my food, dessert shows up, whereas other food has not.

I’ve now updated this review 4 times because the experience keeps getting worse!

October 2024

Saw a lot of vehicles at the parking lot and we decided to stop by. This location used to be a steakhouse. Not knowing the lunch buffet ends at 2:30 pm also unaware that this is a chain store.

There were many empty tables but we still have to wait to be seated. Not a good start for first time customer. Until we looked at the menu, we realized all the fuzz. We came after a busy lunch rush even for a Monday.

We were happy to order from the dinner menu since we were not looking to have a feast. Going for quality instead of quantity.
Sadly, we were unimpressed. The crunchy roll had no crunch. Furthermore, the service was extremely slow. We waited for at least 20-25 mins for 4 rolls.

Frankly, I felt the quality of the sushi is similar from the grocery store. We simply ate it in a nice restaurant. If we are paying from the dinner menu, at least spend some time explaining to us the different rolls we were getting. However, I have to acknowledge that the valuable menu price point.

Will I revisit again? Maybe. I think we need to try other menu items.
Will I recommend? Not sure… after this visit. We were not impressed.

Do not recommend for anyone with an allergy or celiac. Not sure what other recent reviews were talking about as no one knew of an allergen or gluten free menu. I ended up ordering a Salmon roll and Spicy Tuna roll as fish, rice, and seaweed were safe for me. I was finally brought a Salmon skin roll instead that was covered in eel sauce (not gluten free) and the Spicy Tuna roll that had panko mixed in (which I found out after eating one). This was also about 15 minutes after the rest of my party had finished their food. I normally don't go out as I wish to not inconvenience places with my questions concerning gluten, but this was still a let down after I tried to do everything right and not be an inconvenience.

My wife is Japanese and I lived in Tokyo for 3 years. I have to say we were unfortunately very disappointed with the food. Our server was definitely top notch, but the food we had was simply sub par.
1. The age tofu was barely seasoned and overly greasy.
2. The tuna sashimi was poorly prepared. The tendon made the tuna hard to chew.
3. The nabeyaki udon was way over cooked. Udon was totally bloated. The soup was tasteless.
4. Yakitori chicken was way too salty.
I'd not put an unreasonable standard for AYCE sushi, but there's really a huge room for improvement.

I was even able to request to have cucumber rolled instead of rice for an extra 1$ charge. The only thing I would recommend (since they don’t have a preorder iPad system) they can provide customers with a sheet of paper to check off the menu items they want (as it is all you can eat) and order for customer from that it will be much better for customer to pick and choose and easier for server to take the order.

Amazing quality sushi for all you can eat. But don’t go here if you’re short on time unless you order everything you want in the first round. Dinner AYCE comes with a drink, and the options for dinner were phenomenal. Our favorites were the escolar, yellowtail, and scallops, although the last order of yellowtail was definitely a lower quality than the first few which was odd. The first round came out super fast, but then each round got slower and slower until the last round took about 40 minutes. The server was very nice, but it took us 3 hours to get in and out although we did order several rounds of sushi. We saw other tables turning faster so they must have just known what they wanted the first time around. Would 100% recommend as long as you aren’t pressed for time.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. Food Excellent. Service Excellent. Atmosphere is normally very nice however there is now a huge skeleton set up for Halloween decorations. As I turned to go to our table i was nearly blinded by the left hand which extends down and out. VERY hazardous situation. Please correct. We will not return until after Halloween.

Party of 10. Higher quality Sushi than any all you can eat I've been to in any state, all for an unbelievable price for what you get. No bulking up on rice or other filler either. Kenneth was a fantastic server and was very easy going and helpful. Considering the bedlam and chaos of ordering, it was executed as well as could be expected. We will be back for more. This is a real gem. Try to go when it's quieter as it can get very busy and reportedly that impacts order times.

My best friend and I love all-you-can-eat sushi and wanted to try this place. We were amazed at how fantastic the food was, how friendly the staff was and how BEAUTIFUL the restaurant was. This is going to be our new #1 AYCE place!

Shout out to "Jason the Asian" who was our server. He was super cool about how much sushi I ordered (18 rolls as I am an amateur competitive eater on my cheat days), super fast, super responsive and overall a cool guy.

I can't wait to go back!

ETA: my best friend and I enjoyed last week's AYCE feast so much that we decided to go back today. We SPECIFICALLY requested to have Jason as our server again and we're delighted he was on staff today! He did another amazing job serving us. He's a talented man and such a fun guy!

The sushi was just as AMAZING as last week. This time I have 20 rolls and 4 appetizers!

Hands down, this place has won my loyalty as the #1 AYCE spot. Sushi Yokohama, Sushi Kushi and others need to be NERVOUS about Sushi Masa!

Cannot beat the value for the all you can eat! And the food is good quality and fresh as well! Just be warned, this place is very popular and therefore it gets busy during dinner, which can lead to a bit of wait for each new portion, so I'd recommend ordering more food each time. So worth it though! I will be coming back many times!

I really love my service the last time she was in a bit of a hurry and we barely got a lot of food that we ordered however, I charge it to it being such a busy day usually I go doing brunch or at least before 6 to 7 last time we went at dinnerFood was delicious.

We were visiting here from Waco and my wife loves sushi. For the lunch all you can eat, it was $21.95 a person. This included various types of Nigiri, which is my preference. My wife tried many of the rolls. Everything was exceptional and brought out quickly.

Neil was our waiter, and provided mind blowing service. That is no understatement. He was awesome.

Ok so this was my 1st visit, and last. I've been to sushi spots all over Dallas. This one, I wondered why it took 18 - 22 mins in between orders of 6 -8 piece sushi? My 1st order of 8 piece arrived just as the other 2 in my party were almost done with their plates (they did not order the sushi). Then their salads had (no kidding) white pieces of lettuce one tomato and some chopped onions, really bad salad. The sushi taste was "ok" I guess nothing to write home about. The server was cool, kept apologizing for the experience. Not good over all

First off, I must confess that I did not have high hopes for Sushi Masa. I mean for 21.90 ish how good can it be? We went for lunch on a Monday. I was wrong, it was actually very good! Not only that the sushi/food was wonderful but the staff was super attentive. The restaurant was nicely decorated and it surely enhanced the atmosphere. We went with our two babies ( we were feeling brave) and it was a wonderful time. :)

I really wanted to leave a 5 star review, but there were some major things that brought the reviews down. Let’s start with the positives: great atmosphere, gorgeous decor, friendly and helpful staff. Their food was pretty good quality, and for the price, it was a steal. Here are the negatives: I don’t know if it’s because they were short-staffed, but the wait time to have your things arrive in-between orders is LONG. Like 15-20 minutes long. Some of the things you order (like one of their rolls) are tiny. For instance, we ordered a roll with cucumber skin and raw fish, and each piece was about the size of a quarter. And so, we’d get orders with small amounts, and if we order more, it’d take 15-20 minutes to come. Sometimes our order would come in wrong (missing salmon sashimi as part of our order). Not everything comes in small quantities, though. Some of their rolls are decent enough. But, what normally is a 1 hour dinner ordeal (not including wait time to sit down at the table) turned into something like 2 hours and 15 minutes. By the end of it, we just wanted to go home and cancel our order. If there were more people working on the in-between orders, I think we would be coming back here. It’s a pretty good concept. Otherwise, we’d probably go elsewhere.

Our family of total 9 including 3 and 5 years old children went for family dinner gathering. Our server, Tam, was courteous and very nice. Tam greeted us with big smile and took care of our big orders professionally. We liked sashimi, fresh and cut in good portion . We had salmon, tuna, yellow tail, red snapper, and shrimp. Sushi is well made and rolls were delicious as well. Miso soup was not to my taste though. We tried some tempura, fried noodles, and pineapple fried rice. We ordered multiple times over the course, and Tam was always smiling and helpful. Make sure to make reservation at least a week before you plan to make sure you get your desired time spot and date. This place is busy!

Went there first time yesterday. They sat us under an AC vent that leaked water all over our food. Server mentioned that this hasn’t happened in couple of weeks (then don’t sit people there until fixed). We moved to the table next to it. I asked them to replace my food that I had just received. Instead of expediting my food, it took another 30min to get my food. Waitress kept coming by asking if I got my food, as if she couldn’t see I didn’t have it. As soon as I asked her to cancel my Oder it arrived. They didn’t comp anything off my meal as a courtesy. After paying I walked up to the manager (bald Asian guy) who was watching out situation the whole time, asked him if he was aware of our situation and he said yes. I told him I wasn’t offered anything as a courtesy as a good customer service gesture. He didn’t seem concerned and just apologized. Will never go there again!

Went to lunch here, and we did the ayce dinner menu. The food was good, and the fish were fresh, but lacking service. We ordered the 1st round, and some stuff came out some didnt make it. The 2nd round no sashimi came out waited forever, and as it got busier, we still waited, but nothing came out. Bf got tired asked for desert and canceled all the orders.

The sashimi was good, but the mussels were cold, and this dish was supposed to be a hot dish. So a fly landed on my drink and I told our waitress she said she'll give me a new drink, but when she brought it out my straw was still there. Really?? Hellooo, didn't I say a fly landed on my drink, duhhh??? Is there no common sense here or dont care?? If you dont care, you dont deserve any tips, right?? Thats the worst customer service a waitress can ever do to their customer.

Ok, now my bf and I both have serious stomach virus diarrhea after that. Who wants to eat here with this type of carelessness towards customers. You try to enjoy your meal and now you're sick afterward. Thanks, we will not return

Went for lunch yesterday because a friend likes this place. We were extremely disappointed. The pieces of fish for the lunch AYCE are tiny. They literally cut the ell in half. It's hilarious.
The second round for our table took more than 20 minutes. Our server, Candy, was really nice about checking in on us, but I'll never go back and would definitely not recommend it to others. For an extra $10, I'll drive up to Carrollton.

It was our second visit to Sushi Masa. The start was normal, I was seated at a table an the waitress came to the table and I made my order. I asked for Coke Zero as my drink and ordered my patter Sashimi. I got my drink and verified with the waitress that this was Coke Zero. She said this is Pepsi Zero. The waitress has failed to communicate on the drink. I am not too picky on the drink so I just let it slide. My sushi came out, salmon, white tuna, scallop and eel. At first glance, the sashimi was decent in side and visual. I took a bite and was disappointed to find a long bone inside the salmon. This was the first time I've had a restaurant failed to remove bone from a salmon. I ordered my egg rolls, and the plate came without any sauce. I wanted to point these things out to my waitress but she was never to be seen for the past 20 minutes after our initial order. I grabbed the attention of another and asked for the manager. The manager Matthew came to the table and assured that the rest of the evening would offer better service. And yes, the service has gotten better. Other servers were taking the empty plates right away and our drinks were refilled and our server came to the table multiple times. With the price tag of $35 for dinner and a bill of around $85 for two after tip, I wouldn't say our visit was worth the money. I hope this assures the staff to offer better service to other customers.

I had such a great experience. We had a disappointing experience at Tokyo One. That was hell and this was heaven. For the price, service and quality of food, it's a NO BRAINER. My sashimi for the buffet was served on a bowl of ice. Small details like these count. My server Candy and every other staff that approached my staff was so welcoming and pleasant.

I didn't enjoy some dishes but that's to be expected for a buffet.

The sashimi was fresh and well done. Instant wow and so impressed. If you order 5 rolls in a restaurant, you've really managed to almost make the money back already. I will be back, eager for more.

Was a great experience with some coworkers. Sushi was fresh and delicious. Their lunch special of endless sushi is well priced for the amount of food you can get. The only minor note I would have is when a large group is ordering it there might be a bit of confusion on who got what and several times a helping server would bring out plates we didn't order. Since that is a minor procedural suggestion for them to work out, I don't think it detracted from the overalls experience and doesn't affect my scoring or want to come back! Highly recommend to anyone who wants good sushi at a great price.

If you are here for the all you can eat sashimi, it’s not what you imagine. For some reason, each round of sashimi would take 10-15 minutes or even longer. When it came, you would found the piece size is only half or 1/3 of a regular sashimi piece. Very tiring and frustrating experience. Food is fresh and delicious. Other kitchen orders didn’t take too long.

One of the best all you can eat sushi restaurant with great service in DFW area. Our server, Sam was very nice, attentive and explained things very well. They also have regular menu and not everyone in your party need to do AYCE, just can't share with those who don't opt for AYCE. Other AYCE places here have a lot of rules, this place only limits you 20 pieces of the same sashimi per round. Other than that, all of the items on the AYCE menu is unlimited, even soft drinks! The sashimi is not sliced thin and the quality is good! Overall, I think Sushi Masa is better than most regular sushi restaurants. They even served our sashimi in nice plates (see pictures) unlike other AYCE that just throw slices of fish on a plate when you order more than 10 pieces. We had mostly sashimi, so can't say much about the other food. Definitely recommend if you like sashimi! 👍

This was our first time. Food is excellent! Even our server was great and very patient. Unfortunately, the management needs to step up hiring more people. Heard the kitchen has over 60 tickets and they’re so backed up. We waited for our second order for over 30 min and walked away without even getting it. Waiting is over an hour coz they couldn’t get the food out quickly. Servers and chefs must be overworked at this place. Very poor on upper management.

Great buffet where they bring you the items you want and make suggestions and happy to bring you more. Just a really great deal…I don’t eat sushi or sashimi and I think it was still a good value with the glass of wine, soda, tempura, combo fried rice, gyoza, teriyaki steak and fried banana for dessert. Service was great we had a large group about 10 people. They did want the orders for our large group a specific way and a salad or two didn’t make it out to us. So it wasn’t perfect, but better than just 4.5 starts. ;-)

Had dinner there on 8/2/2024 It was a Friday and busy. Went to the hosts stand and told them we needed a table, not a booth, for four people, we were told it would be 20 mins.

They called our name and took us to a small booth. I told the person seating us we asked for a table. He rather rudely said I have to take you back and put you back on the waiting list. Looks like he was using the inconvenience of waiting again to coax us into taking the booth. Which we did.

Our waiter was no better, he was not listening at all, we had never eaten here before he did a horrible job of explaining how the All you can eat and A LA Cart worked. Ultimately, three of us paid $35 for all you can eat. The fourth ordered a la cart.

We all ordered several tempura options, which showed up rather quickly. We all ordered water, one member ordered a beer when we sat down and the all you can eat comes with drinks, he said he wanted another beer but could they wait till he finished the first before bringing the other. Waiter said no problem. Five minutes later someone does a drive-by and drops off another bottle of beer that he did not want yet. They pre open them so it could not be returned.

We ordered refils of tempura, and the a la car person did not get what he ordered until all you can eat. People had several helpings.

Waiter then said we are very busy and the kitchen is backed up. For $35 this is not my problem and should not affect my service

I should not have to understand your staffing and it should not affect service. $35 a person is a lot of money

I'd go somewhere where the host, waiter, kitchen, and food servers actually listen. This all started from the hostess to the Waiter to the kitchen. We could not get water refills, we had an empty soy sauce container the waiter never brought the requested refill.

I would say the main thing this establishment has going for it is they chose against the traditional buffet model of food for the taking down a line. But you get what you pay for, mediocre quality and good value. If you want to fill up eat here, if you want quality go across the street to Hanakin.
