I've known the killeen location want great, well now it's so much worse! First when I called my order in the girl argued that she couldn't do a triple entrée with steak, chicken and shrimp. The steak had to be on the side. I've eaten there many times at all the locations and never had this issue before. The food once we finally got it had no flavor and looked like they did as little as possible to make our meals. The rice wasn't even seasoned. I had to add soy sauce at home to give it any flavor. The shrimp was way overcooked, the chicken looked like it had been boiled and then tossed in a little soy sauce. This was supposed to be 3 hibachi meal with double rice. We barely got one serving of fried rice. Considering we paid over $110 for this food. That used to be good. I would have asked for my money back of i had been in restaurant! What a joke! Not every eating at Nami's again!

Our night started with our waitress taking our order incorrectly. The chef grabbed more food but it ended up still wrong. We asked for no vegetables, but received them anyway. He confirmed I ordered steak and chicken but I ended up with only one of the items. Food was decent but for the price you have to get the order and the professionalism right. Unfortunately I would not return.

This place is terrible. Ordered food from there the steak hibachi is all fat and gristle, no taste, rice has no real taste, tried my wife’s chicken it was dry. God it was so terrible I ordered something else from somewhere else. This wasn’t an issue with being a delivery service. Just no flavor and a terrible cut of meat.

Hostess is rude. While sitting here waiting for our food I watched her be rude to guest that walked in, and the moments later they walked out. She hasn’t cracked a smile once. She’s the first person you see when you come in and it’s not inviting at all. Her tone sounds like she hates her job. We come here because our kids love this place but she is definitely not enjoyable to walk into.

Food hibachi shrimp fried rice veggies 30.00 was good but place need to be clean the carpet was dirty with food and trash. Chef cooking hibachi was funny but appearance did not look clean. The grill needed a good scrub down. My water glass was dirty..black cloth napkins looked old and not clean. The waitress had attitude slamming drinks on table. I used plastic fork to eat.Tried it and will not return.

Great night out. The server was excellent! Helpful and attentive. The chef was pretty new, but he put on a good show... forgot my scallops and couldn't keep everyone's orders straight. I ended up with just chicken. The fried rice had a great taste, but just eggs and rice, no green onion, carrots, peas...no veggies, so not really worth the $3 upcharge. I'd definitely come back to try the scallops next time, along with some steak or salmon.

Is the food good? Yes. Here is my recent experience I want to share with my community. I've been visiting the Killeen and Belton locations of Nami for years. We enjoy the food a great deal. We eat there often. I enjoy the atmosphere and service in Killeen much less. My most recent experience involved a simple take out order. I called in and spoke to the restaurant employee. I ordered (2) Steak and Shrimp for Two. This is a meal on the menu, and obviously should more than feed four people easily as the portions are pretty decent. I was in a hurry picking up the food, and I was given two bags with multiple containers. Upon arriving home I realized that I had only received (1) Steak and shrimp for two, i.e. two portions of food which we eat regularly and are familiar with. I was not sure what happened, and then I looked at the price, it seemed low, so I called the restaurant to speak to a manager. From the moment of the interaction with the manager, she was upset at me for even calling, it was clear I was bothering her. I asked her to clarify what food comes with (1) order of Steak and Shrimp for two. I only had two salads. I only had two soups. I had two boxes of food. This was not a four person meal. When I was asking the questions about what is included with the meal, she immediately began to insult me and say things like I cannot expect to feed four people with one meal. I asked her to stop interrupting me and listen. I restated my question, about what comes with the meal. Steak, shrimp, rice, salad soup (per person), etc? Her answer was "I guess so, what you want me to do?". I asked her to not guess, and to clarify if what I received was TWO - Steak and shrimp for two, because the amount of food did not seem right. She got angry, again said words about not being able to feed more people with less food. She asked if I wanted to return to the restaurant and speak with the owner. I said I did, and I would come in. She walked somewhere, I could hear the conversation. The whole time she was yelling "He cheap, He cheap. He no want to pay for food". After some time the phone hung up, and I never got a reply.

I packed my food, and drove to restaurant with the food. After asking the bar tender and a waitress for help getting the manager, a different young man who was a waiter came to us. I told him I called, and she was expecting us. He said "Oh you're the one she's back there yelling about".

The manager would not come to see us. She just stood back there. Eventually an owner showed up and we talked. My wife did most of the (calm) explaining, and then the manager showed up, began to raise her voice to me again. She said to me "you don't talk to woman like that, you told me to stop talking and listen, you don't talk to woman like that". I'm sorry, but I never used one single vulgar or insulting term, and I am the customer. If I am speaking, you are listening. If I have to tell you that, your gender is not important at that time, your position is. "Manager", is the one to fix the problem not call me a cheap customer because your kitchen/order taker got my order wrong, and I am sitting here with the wrong food. This woman needs to fired immediately. The stated and implied feedback from the owner and at least one coworker is that she has anger issues, and a poor attitude.

So what went wrong? Well In spite of ordering (2) Steak and Shrimp for Two, the order take entered two "Double" steak and shrimp for two. It was all avoidable had the manager listened to me when I said what I ordered, stated what I had, and understood why I wanted to clarify what comes with an order of this type.

She was so busy trying to call me a cheap customer and assume I was complaining about portion sizes she never listened, she argued, she yelled at me on the phone, then again in the restaurant in front of customers. Received refund, will not return.

GO TO BELTON. See Mike. Better service all day.

Very dark seating to start we moved closer to the bathroom which was leaking water from the roof on to my legs gross!!! Anyway our server was a female with dyed curly hair did a poor job taking our order missing items in my order also sushi was made wrong she never fills my drinks walks past us never asking if we need anything or if our food is good which lunch service is poor at best sushi guy came off rude as well when I asked for more sauce because my server was no where to be found lots of standing around or just laughing/flirting went to dinner the other day loved it today was a big bust at best!!!

Hibachi was good. Cook was great, Good place. But never coming in again. Place was decent priced. Pissed off about the service fee. Because we are a party of 5. Usually all restraunts are parties of 6 for the Gratituity! Told server it was our first time here. Server didn't mention that it was gonna be a service fee because we are a party of 5! They should make it to where they tell parties dining in that there will be a fee for parties of 5. Then her lack of service cause she knew she was gonna get a big time tip. Lol! Fuked up! I tipped the cook $10 after he cooked for us. Then the bill comes in and see a 20% service fee. Then manager comes and says he promises his workers they will get a service fee. For what bringing drinks and putting a order in she deserves $30plus for tip. Hell no! Like is said cook was great, entertaining no lie. Wish they would of told me! Paying ain't the problem communication is. It's alright. Hope the owner don't bring his car to my shop again. I'll charge him a 20% fee too for my mechanic on sight to do a repair on his vehicle. He has been to the shop lot's of times. Only a matter of time.

We ordered 3 Katsu Pork Entrees last night, the menu said it comes with steam rice, but it didn’t include in the box. None in our 3 boxes. Then I called the restaurant, they asked me to go back to pick up the steam rice, I said I don’t want to drive at night again, I asked some refund for the rice. But they refused it, bad service. And the food is not good too, the Katsu pork was over cooked, too dry. The restaurant looks dirty and dark, bad atmosphere. Don’t go to Nami Sushi.

We came here for my friends birthday and everything was delicious our hibachi chef was super funny and he knew his stuff! This was my second time only coming here and I enjoyed it very much. We usually go to the Belton location but decided to give Killeen a try for the first time last week. We were shocked at how run-down and dirty this location is. The carpets look very old/stained and the grill areas get minimal cleaning, if that. It’s very dimly lit but I could still see the filthy, grime covered gas pipe by my feet. As dirty as everything was in front of me I couldn’t help but wonder how bad the kitchen was.

They had some free-standing air conditioning units running near the front (I guess the central air wasn’t working?) but the place was still very warm and unpleasant. Not a great situation when it’s over 100 degrees outside. Only two servers on a peak Friday night. We won’t be eating here again.

The service was mediocre. The hibachi combos came with a lower quality of steak with a premium price-tag - it's been a awhile since this visit and my last so not sure when that changed. I just know that the steak used to be better on the "dinner for two" combination. The sushi is worth passing on as the rolls are super small. From previous experience, the bar is slow, and if non-alcoholic is your choice, that's slow too. Oh yeah, unsweet tea is not available on demand.

The food here was ok. We started with soup and salad. I did not like the soup. It wasn't something that I'd order again, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't try it. The salad was edible and tasted good, but there was a lot of salad dressing at the bottom of the bowl. I'd prefer my salad be tossed in the dressing so there is an even spread if you're going to put it on there instead of on the side. The chef, Ken, was very polite and friendly as was our host. He was a very nice young man with good customer service. Ken cooked really well and the food that he prepared for us was amazing. Seriously, I ate leftovers, and it was still good. The veggies weren't under or over cooked; they were just right. The rice was fresh and tasted good. I got shrimp habachi and the shrimp was cooked perfectly as well. I gave the food a 3/5 because of the soup and salad but it does have potential to be a 5. The atmosphere was a little off putting to me. It was dark and somewhat dank but didn't smell bad. I think I saw a critter crawling up the wall, so the place can use some sprucing up. I would eat the habachi here again but wouldn't recommend eating in until the ambiance is maybe brightened up? I'm not sure, but it was an overall enjoyable experience.

Needs a facelift in every aspect , the energy is very dreary and depressing, the carpets need to be taken up and replaced because they look damp and worn down. I came tonight around 8ish and didn’t leave until 10 they had us waiting around for about 30 minutes for whatever reason .There was rice all on the floor when we asked if they could pick it up they seemed to get annoyed. I got hibachi in which they give baby portions for the price DO NOT get the salmon it’s not fresh it taste like it was frozen from a pack , the smell was overwhelmingly fishy like unappetizing. Overall the fish made me sick I’ve been nauseous ever since we left !

The workers from the answering team to the owner himself are rude and extremely non chalant. I’ve never dealt with a place of businesss that talks to possible customers as if they cannot lose business. It was already mediocre and it was a recommendation to begin with, but it’s over priced and extremely basic. I will NOT spend my money and this establishment. It may treat people that way because it’s one of the few Hibachi’s in the area, but Little Tokyo will keep my business as their ethics and customer service is how you treat people.

Our waitress Rue, was AMAZING!!!! She went above and beyond to make sure our entire table of 11 was always taken care of. Nothing was messed up, and she had the best, grateful, attitude the entire time!! The cook, Joshua, was HILARIOUS and kept us laughing and entertained the whole time, not to mention the food was DELICIOUS! Everything was so good, the sushi, appetizers, drinks, entrées, all of it. My daughters, grand-daughter and myself went for lunch and the chef scared the poor baby, when I told him he said “the bathroom is right back there”. Then when he did the fire that they usually do he wafted it towards the baby, and said “I’m not her parents I didn’t bring her here”. THEN he continued on with “if you want respect you need to go to chick fil a”. I couldn’t believe how disgusting and rude this chef was. We got up in the middle of our lunch and left. Poor waitress didn’t even get a tip because of how poor the chef was. Shame!!

I have gone to namis for years and it was by far my favorite hibachi restaurant. I went last Saturday with my husband for the first time and years and I was extremely disappointed the yum yum sauce is not the same it’s too sweet. The steaks were so thin and flavorless. The shrimp was cooked on both sides before seasoned. Literally everything accept the sushi salad and soup was very bland. I felt robbed when I got my tab of $108.00 and didn’t enjoy my food at all. I’m not sure if this location was sold or something but definitely not the same as it used to be.

The waitress was an absolute delight. She was good at refills and checking on the table. There were only 2 chefs on a Friday night at 7pm which is weird to me. The chef we got rushed what he was doing, didn’t do a good show at all for hibachi. The rice did not have any flavor to it. Like it lacked seasoning and garlic butter. The steak was thin (little Tokyo Has better steak than here) this place is more expensive. I thought surly it would be a better experience for the price. I will give a shout out to the bar tender because she made the drinks crazy strong! Overall probably won’t come back I’ll take my business to where I normally go in Killeen for hibachi but atleast I branched out to try all the options.

We visit This restaurant quite often, we are on a first name basis with all the chefs and we usually have big party’s with us (6+ people) so we are very patient when it come to ordering but the last few times the waitress we have been sat with us made our time so unenjoyable, she makes rude comments regarding how big our parties are, most of the time it seems like she is annoyed that we have come back yet again, we leave great tips (even to her) because we are just those type of people and absolutely LOVE eating here, but after this last visit I’m not sure our family will be coming back, not only did she ignore some of the people in our party (almost seeming purposeful) but when a party of 5 arrived 20 minutes before closing she stoped mid sentence of asking us a question to make a rude comment about them, not under her breath and not a whisper almost loud enough for them to hear as all of us heard her loud and clear, it showed unprofessionalism and just straight up disrespect to this group. We have loved every aspect of this restaurant but seeing the type of person she is around costumers in front of us makes us feel very uncomfortable going again with the possibility of being sat with her, we bring friends and family and love sharing the experience with them but she always seems to make it not worth our bragging about how excellent it is once we have finished our meal, 10/10 recommend the food and the chefs but some of their staff need to be more courteous/ respectful towards their costumers.

To be clear my wife and I always get the Hibachi, so I know nothing of the other foods they offer, however the Hibachi is always delicious! I’ve had every hibachi dish except for the shrimp and they are always top tier. Better than Beni Hanna and less expensive. The chefs are always fun and entertaining, and the other staff members are usually quite pleasant. Have been here over a dozen times and will come back a dozen more times. Highly highly recommend to those who enjoy hibachi.

Just left and so much to say. The food was nasty me and my wife ordered the steak and shrimp we ordered it to be well done and my wife's was medium well and the shimp was nasty as well after I start chewing it was like there was no seasonings on any of it and the rice was just plain rice that was boiled the crunch roll was ok but not good enough for me to go up on the stars sorry the only good thing was the amount of food you got I just couldn't stomach any of the food and heads up the food came out to 107.57 for food that was left at the table in my opinion I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone

Was in the area and had time to eat here for a late lunch. First time here and upon entering my impressions were that the decor was kind of plain. They had just reopened and so it wasn't unusual that it wasn't packed with customers. It was rather quiet in fact. I ordered yellowtail sashimi and a few pieces of mackerel sushi along with some other sushi, but they didn't have any yellowtail or mackerel. Was a little bummed about that but the manager who was also preparing sushi orders on this day was very nice and suggested salmon as an option for the sashimi and it was very buttery and a nice substitution in place of my yellowtail. I ordered clam sushi and the way it was prepared it was so good with a hint of spice that I ended up placing another order for just the clam sushi. What I observed was great customer service and customers at the hibachi table were being entertained by chefs preparing their meals. Everything that was placed in front of me was fresh and tasted very nice. I didn't have a cocktail as I was technically still working but they do sell alcoholic beverages as I saw a bar. If I lived in this area I would definitely frequent this place to get my sushi fix. While the decor may not blow you away, they definitely have many important things going on such as good customer service and very fresh sushi. Patrons all seemed to be enjoying themselves and frankly it's the kind of place where I didn't mind spending my money.

I give this place a 5 star rating because of the friendly people that work there. It was my husband's and I first time eating there but not my first time at a place like this. Ken who was our habchi cook was nice, friendly, and polite. He cooked our food the exact way we asked for it. I had the salmon and it was moist and tender. My husband had the chicken breast and filet mignon and both were tender and juicy. I would so recommend this place to anyone who has not eaten at a place like that. We will definitely be back. It was my husband's first time ever eating at a place like that.

The customer service wasn’t great. Lots of rude remarks were being made and even the chef came out super aggressive and mocking in a sense. I don’t know if that’s his personality, but definitely didn’t sit well with our table. The whole 20% tip for a table of 5 is ridiculous since we each paid individually and the server wasn’t even that great. She took forever on another persons drink.. spoke to the owner of this establishment and that went absolutely nowhere. He insisted we should have brought this to his attention as it was happening. We were being polite to tell him about this after the service so it wouldn’t be in front of the rest of the table.. the food was good though! I will say that much.

My take out order was extremely late getting to me. When people who are dining are leave that got there after you there's an issue. Fried rice was trash. Looked like rice with soy sauce and chopped up egg. Definitely, not worth the $2 up charge. The chicken was dry and cut into rather large pieces for hibachi. All that said, go somewhere else for lunch.

Ambiance was nice. Service was great. The food itself lacked in flavor. I got the Chicken Katsu with fried rice. The chicken katsu tasted like bland battered chicken. The rice didn't have much flavor and honestly tasted like steamed rice with a touch of soy sauce and scrambled eggs. I'm no chef but I make better fried rice at home. The highlight of my plate was the stir fried veggies on the side. My husband and I were both disappointed by the food.

While the chef was extremely nice and entertaining, the food was subpar and incredibly expensive for the quality and quantity of food. Our entire table sat with empty glasses for more than 30 minutes and when the waitress finally did come to give us refills, she took all our glasses to the back together and refilled them with straws in glasses, and returned them to the table without know whose glass was whose and sat them down with the same straws in them and left. Had they not added 20% gratuity automatically, no tip would have been left. Establishment should be thoroughly inspected by the health department.

Took my girlfriend here 10/30/21 for a 6:30pm reservation. She’ll love the experience boys, you’re welcome! We were seated on time (a few minutes early actually) with two different groups of people, as the hibachi can accommodate at least 10 people. Our waiter was incredible, as was the rest of the staff. The other two groups of people we shared the experience with were very rude and did not interact with the hibachi chef. The staff experience was incredible! The hibachi chef was a master at his craft and customer relations. It broke my heart because I could see how passionate he was and how he wanted to give the best experience he could. However, he never stopped trying and gave it his all to please everyone. Some people just can’t be pleased and those people should order takeout. I tipped my bill amount to show my appreciation to the gentlemen that gave us a fantastic evening!

If you plan to sit at the hibachi please interact with the staff and the chef. Also, be polite and treat people like human beings. They are there to entertain and you’re involvement makes their day! They’re all about you and deserve your upmost respect!

We’ll definitely be back, I just hope we are joined with delightful people during our next visit! I’d give it six stars if that were an option!

The food here is delicious. I had the steak hibachi. The steak was tender and deliciously seasoned. I like the fact that the cook was more about cooking the food and making it taste delicious rather than putting on a show. I didn’t even think to take a photo. Next time….

I’m very “cautious” about hibachi places because I absolutely can’t stand the “shows” they put on and the food being mediocre. I also can’t stand the fact that some chefs toss food at you and you’re supposed to catch it with your mouth. Not a fan. I want my food on my plate, not on the floor, thank you very much.

The only reason I didn’t give five stars is cause the wait to get a table was long and the cocktails were mediocre. Lol at Kelsey the guy was honest when he said he wasn’t sure he could make a good old fashion. 😂 nonetheless, the apple crown and sprite was delicious lol.

I was utterly shocked to see an automatic 20% tip on my final bill. I had a party of 2. My husband and myself Number 1. Number 2 due to work I arrived after my husband to be asked from the moment I sat down was I ready to order (literally) before setting my purse down I was asked what I wanted to drink. When I picked up the menu I was asked was I ready to order. (LITERALLY) Then asked every 3-4 minutes after that until I finally ordered what the person next to me was having... Then as our food was being made I had to "remind" our chef that he kept forgetting my husband's portion of food. For his reply to be my husband was standing up (in which he was holding our son). So I pointed out that his plate was still there it wouldn't matter if he went to the restroom his plate should still be made. For the server to repeatedly tell my husband to have a seat.. Then for the waiter who rushed us to order to come back every time we put our forks down to ask were we done.. Then when handed the check and the automatic 20% tip was on my bill the Owner/Manager said it is on the menu... I have included a picture of their menu... Take note I again had a party of TWO... My husband and myself. Yet the menu states parties of 5 or more.. Even if that was the case in my situation for the service I received to not offer an apology rather than require me reward the poor service of our waiter and chef... Not me!!!

The food is good but the prices have gone up A LOT since my husband and I first started going in 2018. Another thing I don’t like is how the to go food is way less in quantity than when you eat in. If there is going to be less food then charge less. Also, you can hardly get anyone on the phone when you’re trying to call in a to go order. AND they used to allow my husband and I to order noodles to pair with our rice but we can no longer do that.

We have been going to the Killeen Nami for about 8 years now. The quality had become worse for a while, but got better. Greed must have gotten the best of management recently though. Their prices have been raised like crazy and charged us a 20% gratuity for a family of 5. In 8 years we have never been charged this. Our bill was $165 for rice, meat, and soda. 🤬😡 needless to say, we will NEVER be going there again!
