Elegant place with really good food. Lots of new or rare options on the menu, which you won't find in most sushi restaurants (unique). Interesting and inventive specialty drink menu. It was quiet, nice, delicious, but not uncomfortably pretentious. Our waitress was great!

This is the most reasonably priced HIGH quality sushi place we have found in Dallas area. We come here for special events and the service has always been amazing. We have never needed reservations. Last time we tried the full tasting menu which is the way to go! They also have an all nigiri tasting which we will do next time for sure. Highlights: the oysters with caviar were surprisingly our favorites. Dress is pretty casual so this is perfect if you just want to relax and eat delicious sushi.

This spot is a hidden gem. That sushi rice flavor and texture is excellent. The fish specials are flown in from Japan and chef says they have the same supplier as Hatsuyuki.
Food style and quality is excellent. It is simple and elegant in a more true edo style sushi. Contrary to alot of other spots the flavors aren't drowned in mayo based sauces.
Their new menu items were a great hit for my tastes. Texture and flavors are awesome I recommend the fries green beans especially. Their tempura is lightly battered and deliciously crispy. Chef sent out a small osecchi box that had some fun pickled dishes to go with the bottle of sake I ordered.
Speaking of sake. Edoko easily has one of the best sake selections in dfw. The sakes would all be highly rated in Japan and they range across all spectrums of the sake taste profile. I'd honestly go just to sit at the bar and drink their sake menu down. Rec would be the dassai 45 as they pour it from 1.8!

It's an insult that I can't give this place a higher score! What comes after "perfect"? If you want a taste of how Japanese food tastes in Japan, go here. Both the food and service were Japan level! Me and my friends each did the omakase (chef's choice, changes everytime you go) and an appetizer of karaage (Japanese fried chicken) and the smoked duck hotate (scallops). The omakase was 6 courses consisting of an appetizer, chawanmushi (steamed egg dish), sashimi, rice dish, nigiri sushi, dessert. Again, the chef makes up the courses based on what's in season, so I don't know if this is the pattern every time but these are the courses we got, and I believe there's always a sushi and shashimi course. By the end my smaller friend was stuffed, but me and her husband were contently full.
Appetizer course: chu-Toro tartare on a tenpura shiso leaf and a lobster fried rice ball topped with ikura (salmon eggs)
This was a great start! The tartare has almost like a taco set up with the tenpura shiso leaf, but it's not heavy and the shiso leaf adds a refreshing element to the dish. The rice ball was good, but I regret eating it in one bite. I feel like if I ate it in 2 I'd get more flavor and could enjoy the Wasabi mayo it came with more
Chawanmushi course: chawanmushi topped with crab
The moment the waiter lifted the lid, the look and smell brought me back to my life in Japan. My Japanese friend said it was a little over salted, which I disagree with so maybe it was just hers, but the one thing that the dish was missing was ingredients in the chawanmushi like mushrooms, seafood, or leafy greens, but since this was just one dish out of 6 maybe they did this so it wouldn't be as filling. Still an amazing dish and probably my favorite course, as a whole.
Shashimi course: aji (mackerel), maguro (tuna), ebi (shrimp), shake (salmon), hotate (scallop) and tako (octopus)
Disclaimer, I'm not a big shashimi fan. It's ok, just not my cup of tea. However, this was a good course, especially the scallop! It was sweet and had a nice texture. The rest was OK as well, tasty and fresh
Rice course: truffle uni (sea urchin) risotto
Just, wow. This is one of those dishes you purposely eat slow because you want to savor every bite. The uni comes on top so you can add a little to each spoonful, mix it into the risotto, or take it off and give it to your closest friend/lover/favorite family member (because giving someone uni is a symbol of pure love lol). I mixed mine together and loved it. The uni isn't overpowering and unlike some uni, this one was more savory than sweet. This course may actually tie with the chawanmushi course when looking at my favorite course as a whole, or be a very close 2nd
Sushi course: chu-toro (medium fatty tuna), Hamachi (yellow fin tuna), aji (mackerel), kinmedai (golden eye snapper), firefly squid, Japanese uni (sea urchin)
Although the chawanmushi and rice course were my favorite courses as a whole, my best bites of this entire 6 course meal were here. When you get this sushi course, you are suggested an order in which to eat the sushi, in this case start with the chu-toro and go left to the uni. The chu-toro was amazing, with a soft texture than and light umami taste. The Japanese uni sushi, unlike the uni in the risotto, was sweet and taste just like the sea. These two were my favorite bites of the whole night! The other sushi was good too! No complaints about the other 4, and out side of the chu-toro and uni, the kinmedai and squid were also really good!
Dessert course: yuzu cheese cake
From Start to Finish, all these courses were phenomenal and the dessert was no different sticking the landing and finishing the night off strong! Yuzu is a common citrus in Japan which can be best described as an incredible refreshing lemon flavor that is never over powering or too sour. The cheese cake was light and refreshing, the perfect end to an unforgettable parade of flavors.
I can't recommend this place enough! Probably going to be the best place I go to all year, and I went to Hell's kitchen this year!

This is an incredibly nice experience from start to finish. I did feel like I could have gotten more quantity in most other places but the quality was top notch putting it in the same category of authentic sushi I had in Japan.
They accommodated my food allergies of egg, gluten, and dairy without any issues but I couldn't order the Omakase because the food is pre marinated in early that had gluten.
Overall this was a nice change of pace that I can easily recommend, but it comes with a price.

Maybe I expected too much based on their reputation and reviews. It was our first time to visit so we ordered two chef choices but they were not good as I expected. Overall, I don’t feel that they use better grade of fishes compared to other restaurants. They should use better one if you put higher price. Mackerel was very fishy. It shouldn’t be that fishy if it is fresh. Also scallop was warm which made me worried about food safety. We also tried yuzu cheese cake and I don’t recommend it. It is not Japanese style. Japanese style would be much softer and light.
However, I like their sushi rice. The rice was well seasoned. The texture of rice is just right.
Servers were kind but I don’t like the online menu. It was too hard to read all the menu at once and it took so many times to find what we are looking for.

I've lived in Japan for a long time and I'm very sensitive about the taste of sushi, but the sushi here is a quality that you can taste at a famous sushi restaurant in Ginza, Japan. The young owner's smile is so beautiful, and if you want to feel the taste of original sushi in Japan, you should visit here..

We were treated to some of the best service, atmosphere and attention to detail we both have ever had. This is a five star experience and Chef Sara is a master of her craft. Everything was hand selected and crafted by her expertise and we are so grateful. If you have anyone you need to impress, this hidden gem will earn you praise I assure you. Please take my heartfelt recommendation that I don’t think I’ll ever have a better meal in my life. She also has a coffee and pastry shop that is worth every penny. It was not the omakase experience I had expected. It didn't seem special or intimate with the chef. The chef spent more time making other people's sushi than ours, nor was there a lot of interaction. But to be fair it was busy and its hard to entertain and vigorously pump out sushi. I was only excited by 2 or 3 nigiri's. I find the coldness of the fish to be much more pleasant and enjoyable experience over room temperature fish, some of which were on the edge of freshness. I also noted the use of the butane torch, which quite frankly i am not sure what the purpose is for at Edoko. Drying the flesh of the fish? I've only had 2 other omakase experiences, so i am by no means claiming to be a connoisseur. At both of these others they seared the mean to add crisp texture/browning, while at Edoko it seemed to not do or add anything of value, if i am wrong here, my apologies. I wanted to take my family to do an omakase experience that was supposed to be wide eye opening, because i know that they come from nothing and would never spend that much in their entire frugal life, but this experience was not it, especially for the final bill amount.
My other observations: Ambience wise it felt like a brand new car without AC. Everything was great to look, drive and feel, but it just felt mildly uncomfortable. From the noise inside (bad interior acoustics coupled with some loud guests made it hard to speak to family). The bathroom water faucet pressure was also just a dribble and the area looked unkept. The online website would succeed greatly from photos as well as slightly more description. I had no idea what a beef tataki was and i really expected something hot, it was not.
It felt like slightly edged up sushi that i could get else where, and after many rave reviews from friends i would rather go elsewhere. That said i enjoyed the small dishes i got and may possible go back.
Out of 5: poor/fair/good/very good/amazing
Overall: Fair
Food: Good
Service: Good
Ambience/Design: Very Good
Ambiance/Noise: Poor
Value: Fair

Way over priced!!! Some reviews said it was like a mall sushi yes . We did the omakase and expected quality and the sushi grade was very average especially if you eat omakase and high quality sushi. It’s presentation and serving you uni and some other fishes that gets the eye but those qualities are not high end!! Both husband and I were disappointed as we paid close to 300 without alcohol . You would think you would get quality food but a waste !! Good to get roles maybe cute environment but wayyyy overpriced . It’s just the experience I think that people havnt had and think it’s good but not if you have had quality sushi before you can really tell the difference. I think if they were priced less then it would be ok but to pay 120 person for omakase , I’m expected quality fish!!! One time try but will be looking for another place

My boyfriend and I dined in early on a Saturday evening. Typically at sushi restaurants, we like to order an assortment of sashimi, nigiri, and robata grilled meats/vegetables if available. This evening, we went on a whim went went for an omakase option.
Food and Drinks: 5/5 - My boyfriend ordered the Edoko Old Fashioned (a twist on a bourbon Old Fashioned with a blended Japanese whisky instead) and I ordered the Yuzu Chuhai (refreshing and citrusy). No complaints there!
The tasting menu was excellent in variety, quality, and pacing. My boyfriend and I agree that the highlight was the 6 piece premium nigiri (fish on rice) box. There was a recommended order to try each piece and every bite was delicious. I will also add that this place differentiates itself with house-made desserts. Definitely save room to finish strong with something sweet!
For those concerned about price point, we felt it was worth the price, especially if you consider quality over quantity. My boyfriend and I did initially have concerns around course 2 or 3 that we wouldn't be full made a back up plan to order extra food before dessert. However, when our nigiri boxes arrived (course 5 of 6), we changed our minds so we would have room for dessert.
Service: 5/5 - We were unsure if we wanted to get the nigiri omakase or the six course tasting menu. Our server Sophiya was very knowledgable and described both the Nigiri Omakase and the Six Course Tasting menu with great detail. After listening to her advice, we decided on the six course tasting menu for more variety. As each course came out, she described the ingredients with detail and even had some fun facts to share! Additionally, the chef and server accommodated food preferences and allergies without any trouble (I have a nut allergy and my boyfriend prefers no wasabi.)
Atmosphere: 5/5 - The decor was simple, beautiful, and clean. I used to be a bartender so I make a habit of checking out the bar area wherever I go. I look for an uncluttered and organized set up and was not disappointed. My boyfriend was amused when I told him I wanted a rose gold cobbler shaker just like the one I saw on the bar. I had my back to the sushi bar, but whenever I glanced back, everything looked beautifully displayed and clean.

Let me start by saying I have never posted a negative review. But unfortunately this place is my first one. My husband took me here for our sixth wedding anniversary and to say it was a disappointment is an understatement. We ordered the chefs selections and it was nothing special. The food came out slow, with twenty minute windows in between each serving, and that’s me being gracious. We spent good money for what felt like a horrible experience, poor service and sub par sushi. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Delicious food and wonderful service !!
My mom has Celiac disease (she can’t have gluten) and the staff was very attentive and careful about the preparation of all the food, much more so than other sushi places I’ve been to in the area. Great server and everyone is very polite! The food was also wonderful, pricey but worth it in my opinion. I will definitely come back :)

On October 20th. Drove from DFW to here. Closing was at 9:30pm. Made it at 9pm. They “decided to close early cause they were slow”. Wonder why you are slow? Maybe cause you upset your customers by not operating your hours.

Delicious food. Portions are a bit small but that can be expected for an upscale restaurant. Friendly staff

I don't give mid level revues very often... the food was ok, the service was ok for a place you order off the menu. The prices were the kind where you expect A+ service. When I asked for something specific i was treated like that was unusual. This restaurant is priced higher than they should be but everything was fresh and Micheal did a fine job. Zero interaction from the chef's

Delicious! I came here for a quick lunch and was not disappointed. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, and the atmosphere was calm and clean, elegant and inviting.
I ordered the bulgogi bento box lunch with miso soup, shrimp tempura, and a tuna roll - all for $17! The tempura was light and crisp. The bulgogi was savory and sweet, perfectly marinated. All aspects of the tuna roll where perfect.
I will be returning!

Disappointed visit!!! very few options in appetisers and the quality & portion of the rolls were poor. Prices & the quality & portion size doesn’t match. Taste was just ok. Felt Kroger sushi was much better. Since the name is familiar to the one we visited in Richardson, thought they opened a location in Irving and expected similar quality. We don’t mind the cost if the quality was outstanding. But this was horrible. Never going back & enters my do not go list.

Easily one of the best sushi places in Dallas. I got the Tekka and Spicy Salmon roll was incredibly fresh. Yes some of the items on the menu can be expensive if you get certain items but if you get the rolls it’s just as expensive as any other sushi place .

This restaurant has the worst food and service of any sushi restaurant that I’ve ever been to. Everything tasted either old, sour, or overly salty. This is horrendous quality for the price point of 4 bento boxes and 1 maki roll for $128 at lunch time. We also had to wait over 35 minutes in an empty restaurant for this trash. I will steer everybody away from this place. I am appalled that they’ve managed to stay in business and have high reviews.

I’ll give it a 2 star because the girl in the front was such a sweet girl! She was definitely the reason why I gave this place at least some stars, however my sushi was not good. Way too salty for me, and was expecting this place to be delicious but not to my liking. The inside is beautiful extremely fancy sushi place but sushi is a no go.

I love Edoko Omakase! A very nice selection of dishes, with a creative flair (tuna pizza, anyone?), beautifully presented. The service is exceptional. It's not the cheapest place in town, but it is worth every penny.

One of the best Sushi restaurants I’ve dined at in the U.S. Maybe a toss up with Kata Robata in Houston.
Real wasabi root. Try it.

Let me start by qualifying: we eat a lot of high end sushi. And we love it. This place is absolutely the best. I sit in shock every time wondering how it’s possible to get a table. For those that have not visited, visit, you will thank this recommendation. Once you sit down, Id recommend the following:
Spicy tuna on crispy rice
Uni shooter (pricey but their uni is super fresh and this is the best way to taste it, balanced and amazing)
Signature spicy tuna (don’t worry, it’s 100x better than whatever you’re thinking)
Softshell (it’s different, but it’s my favorite. Lite curry, amazing flavor combo)
Signature spicy hamachi (fresh, balanced, amazing!)
This place is worth every penny. Check it out

Our 1st time dining here for my son's birthday. The space was intimate enough for our large party of 10. Service was wonderful even though they were short staffed in a Saturday. Our waitress was attentive and her recommendations were amazing! Omakase is what they are known for but we didn't get to try.
However everything we ordered was so delicious!! Our party really enjoyed it!
I have never had such sweet and buttery scallops before! 🤌
They take reservations for large parties.
Can't wait to return for date nite and try the Omakase!! Definitely worth the gas from Arlington!

The food and quality was good. However, the amount of food you get for the price was not worth it. Especially compared to the other omakases we’ve been to in the DFW area. We definitely had to order more dishes outside of it in order to even ‘scratch the surface’.
They also told us service would be a little shorter due to a shortage of staff, which we said was okay. However, we noticed certain guests being catered to more attentively. A table sat next to us 15-20mins later, but we receive the first course the same time.
We didn’t pay too much attention to the Al la carte prices, but maybe you’ll get more of your moneys worth with it..who knows.

Sashimi was very fresh but cutting is too thick. It seems like the chef doesn't know what is best.

Did the omakase set course. Food came out a bit slowly between courses, but was very high quality ingredients and delicious. Definitely would come back again. We had tuna tartare, couple oysters, scallops, fatty tuna, sea urchin, mackerel and a couple seasonal fishes and finished out with cheesecake. I wasn't necessarily full by the end of the omakase course, but everything was delicious.
To supplement it stomachs, we ordered some karaage and a scallop hand roll which was delicious. The karaage was white meat but still very juicy and crisp on the outside.

Ordered a Bento Box during lunch (offered from 11am-2pm). The wasabi is REAL (not artificially colored horseradish). The real wasabi is floral and without that kick to the nose you get with horseradish. The soy sauce has a complimentary brewed taste to couple with the sushi & wasabi. Prices for the Bento Boxes are competitive but Edoko Omakase beats the competition due to overall quality of product. I both recommend and will repeat my business with Edoko!

I definitely give this place a thumbs up for the food, service, quality of food and the decor n the friendliness of the waitress but this place is expensive. Mannn don't stay to long or take someone who is willing to pay or they will take your money. LOL I ordered 1 sushi roll, meso soup n seaweed salad and paid $30 👀

I came in for lunch and it was spectacular. Down to the last details. The wasabi was very course and more powerful than any wasabi I had ever had. It was pulpy. I had uni, their version of a rainbow roll which was more like a cherachi sashimi sampler. My chef David was a master. I think everyone should make a trip here. Quality like uchi but priced better.

Everything we ordered was phenomenal, outstanding quality and prepared beautifully! Worth every penny and far better than the vast majority of sushi restaurants in the area.

Average sushi for more than average prices. The sushi here is average at best but is very expensive. Maybe if you are looking for a place with a nice ambiance where food isn’t the priority then this place is great. The service and everything else was good but not the food. I had better sushi than this for almost half the price. I’d recommend going to blue fish in the area. Three stars are for the ambiance and the servers. They were completely fine.
