We are open for dining in now
Whew. Feels like I haven't written a new review in forever since Yelp ate my Aiko one. So sorry about that!
Anyway, Miyagi is a place that I liked better than most, yet can't help but feel lukewarm about due to the bigger context. It is by far the best sushi in Houston in terms of value for money (Aiko still edges in raw taste), but only because the state of sushi in Houston is truly horrendous. It confidently clears a bar that was pretty low to clear.
Other reviewers have mentioned all the inconveniences you have to go through to get a coveted lunch at Sushi Miyagi already - which I can attest to. I won't repeat the list here, but it reminds me of the time I waited in line for some Din Tai Fung in Seattle: The whole thing was built up as if you were going to experience something very special, yet it just ended up being a decent neighborhood place. My followers will know that my standard for sushi is Kyoten Next Door in Chicago in terms of taste and Koto in Fort Wayne in terms of value. Miyagi is almost as revered as the former while almost as packed as the latter, but doesn't come nearly close on either front.
That being said, if you were to try to average Kyoten and Koto, you'd probably get something close to Miyagi. The fish is cut thick and plenty fresh, the price is understandable but otherwise not too cheap nor expensive. I particularly liked the sake (mackerel). It is a very fresh and slightly fatty sake that doesn't have any of the usual sour taste nor tough texture. My friend liked the squid and how clean, not-slimy it is as well.
The hiyayakko is exactly what it is and what it is is a mistake (I don't know what kind of kami urged me to order cold tofu at the time).
The Hambagu (sometimes called "Salisbury steak" - a word I have never heard outside the circle of nerds and insufferable food snobs), my main dish, is best summed up as a "xíu mại on rice but fast food". For context, xíu mại is a large Vietnamese meatball, not too different from the kind you have with spaghetti, can be found in bánh mì, and is often eaten with tomato sauce. Replace the tomato sauce with ketchup and Kewpie mayo and there you have it.
The kinuta maki was exciting and peculiar (I had the yellowtail filling), but not overall too impressive. I don't think the vinegary dressing on the daikon nor its innately bland flavor mix very well with the fish, and can understand why this dish is not very popular elsewhere in the States.
TL;DR A good way to end my sushi journey in Houston "with a bang", but I don't think I'll seek out any more sushi in this city again.
P.S. The next review won't be about sushi I promise!

Nut allergies: No nuts in sushi, of course.
The advice to get here early is no joke. We actually got here at 11 on a Saturday and there was no line, so we walked over to another plaza for a bit. When we came back by 11:30, there were already three groups in line! We got one of the last tables. The wait if you arrive late is 90-100 minutes, so I'd try to get here at 1pm or 2pm if you miss the opening wait and hope that others have been dissuaded. The first table opened up at 1:10PM and people were definitely waiting.
If you're in for an intimate experience with a long meal with friends with amazing sushi while listening to Ocarina of Time music, this is the place to be. A little hidden gem in a side of Bellaire that isn't often frequented, Sushi Miyagi is run by an elderly Japanese couple that only opens a few hours a day. You can really tell how much care goes into the food here, as tea is even served at a very reasonable price ($1 for hot tea with a full kettle to refill!)
For a group of 5, we ordered the Sashimi for 2, Maki for 2, and a lunch rice curry special. The sashimi for 2 was so big that we thought they combined both our orders into one! The lunch rice curry was enough for five people to have 3-4 bites each. The sashimi was absolutely stellar - large pieces that are sliced perfectly against grains to still be melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The pickled Mackerel may have changed my whole perspective on Mackerel - extremely fatty and very flavorful! Other highlights were the chopped scallops and eel. Came out at just under $50 after tax and tip and our group left stuffed! We left around 1:35PM.
I'd love to come back when I want an intimate sushi experience and the weather isn't too hot to wait outside.

I went and tried this place with my coworker for the first time today. Overall the food was pretty good except the sashimi pieces were way too big! I had to literally cut into three pieces for each they were so thick. I wish they were sliced thinly. The miso soup was really good as well as chirashi bowl. Wish it had more sashimi but had more rice. My favorite one was spicy scallops sushi. I would order it again. We did listen to the other people and got there an half hour early (11:30) so we didn’t have to wait long we were actually the first ones to arrive. But if you’re in a hurry or don’t want to wait outside in line especially during hot days I would not recommend. Not sure if I can wait outside in line in the summer time. Anyway, although I spent like $30 with tip on a lunch which was way out of my budget it was worth it I guess.. definitely cannot afford to spend that much often for lunch.

Genuine sushi place, owned and operated by a senior japanese couple, professional and courteous. A little on the pricey side, but for the freshness and the portion size, it is unmatched by any other houston sushi places

If you like delicious Japanese food (sushi and cooked), Sushi Miyagi is a definite must go to. We came half an hour before the restaurant closed on a Saturday afternoon. There was no line. We were quickly seated and the wife/front staff let us peruse the menu to our hearts content and make a suggestion when asked about the simple soba noodles dipped in sauce or the udon. The food was fresh, tasty and satisfying as seen by the photos. Between 3 people, we 2 shared appetizers of Sakura Ikura Don and Spider Roll. We then shared 3 entrees of Anaju Don, Grilled Salmon on rice, and because we miss Yumi’s soba, we had the refreshingly cold simple slippery soba (buckwheat) noodles to be personally dipped in a savory sweet sauce and a bit of wasabi! Delicious!! Bill came out to $105 and the service was excellent so we tipped accordingly. Highly recommended. We will be back!

If I had not read reviews before going here for lunch I would not have considered trying this place. It's very small, a hole in the wall place in an old strip center. Sushi Miyagi is truly a Mom and Pop restaurant. I saw no servers, no staff other than them. Momma greeted and seated me with a genuine smile. Poppa is an artist with an knife. I had some beautifully cut garnish with my Sushi. The food was fresh and very tasty. The wait was not bad at all. Momma was very attentive and made sure I had everything that I needed. I highly recommend.

Sushi miyagi is one of my favorite restaurants in Houston. It is run by a Japanese couple who do everything themselves, so the hours are limited and the wait can be long. However, the quality of the food is exceptional. Some of my favorites are the salmon sushi, escolar sushi, spicy hotate sushi, tamago sashimi (the best!), shaggy dog roll, and spider roll. I have also liked their chirashi bowl, miso soup, chicken karaage, and pork katsu. My friends like their sweetie creamy roll, tofu, salmon roll, yellow tail sushi, udon soup and curry rice. They serve by the table, even if you plan on taking to-go. If you plan on visiting, come as soon as it opens, as there will already be a line outside the door!

Vero cozy environment. Great place to catch up with friends. Must be patient for the waiting time, but the waiting time is worth the wait for the quality of sushi you’ll be receiving. Literally the definition of mom & pop restaurant. Love this place

So if you want to visit this place, be aware that the wait time is LONG. We got there at around 11:40 am on a rainy Wednesday morning, and there were already 4 groups of people in line. The place is run by an older couple. The man is stationed at the sushi counter, and the woman takes the order and gets food that is not sushi related. They also only have 8 tables. We were the 5th table to be seated when the place opened. The lady takes order in sequential order and usually handles the soups, drinks, non-sushi foods per table before moving onto the next table. So it was 30 minutes before she even took our order. Another 30 minutes before we received the sushi. So all in all, it was about 2 hours by the time we got there to when we were done eating. Keep in mind that we were one of the first 8 tables that was seated. If you got there after all the tables are initially seated, then you are awaiting at least an hour for any tables to open up. I'm telling you this to let you be aware that this is NOT a place for a quick lunch. Try to get there early (like 11am) to be the first one in place (or at least one of the first few groups).
As for the sushi quality, it was good, not top tier. I think this is probably somewhat related to the lack of top tier sushi meat that is available in Houston. The portions when it comes to the sushi pieces and Sashimi pieces are huge. The rolls are regular size. The pricing is reasonable.
Overall, it's a decent restaurant with decent food and pricing. However, the wait time is very long. We did not think the wait time is worth it when weighted against the other factors. It was good to try once, but we will not likely return due to the amount of time needed.

Honestly, we love going to our "mom and pop" sushi. They open for limited times of the week because our mom and pop work to provide service by themselves. The food is phenomenal and authentic as you can guess. I would recommend ordering off of the lunch menu as there is plenty to choose from. Try to arrive by 11 30 AM before opening to be the first in line. I promise the sushi is worth it!

Relatively speaking, this is a home-style restaurant served with authentic Japanese food. Its sushi and sashimi are especially delicious. Since the restaurant owner is a retired Japanese couple, so the business hours is kind of limited and the wait for food is a bit longer. The atmosphere is very relaxed and cozy, btw, It has one table with tatami dine-in setting

We ordered the aged tofu and the sushi/maki combo for $65…. The quality of fish was lower than groceries….portion of rice in each sushi was way too much and it wasn’t even sushi rice….just regular bad quality rice. People running the place are polite but I don’t understand how people recommend this place….

Amazing food and excellent value. The fish was wonder and the portions are quite generous. It is a husband and wife team that literally do everything. So, be prepared for it to take some time. They are working hard for you, but it is not a fast meal. They also only have a few tables so get there early if you want in. We were there at 11:45 and got the last table. We left around 1:45. Like I said, it takes a while, but it is well worth it if you have the time and know what you are getting in to.
We will be back for sure.

Truly stellar!!! Best sushi in Houston BY FAR.
Open only for lunch. Small with maybe 6 tables. Better arrive at 11:45am (before they open and line up) or get there at 12:45pm when the first seatings are done.
Huge menu for the location (makes me wonder how they manage) with decent lunch options.
I was told (not sure though) that the lady serving is the wife of the owner (who is preparing the food). I do not know if that's true but she reminded me of my time in Japan (the "we tolerate gaijin but remember you-are-and-will-always-be-a-gaijin" attitude + the Japanese "fake" smile that foreigners fall for thinking "oh the Japanese are so polite).
But we were not there to make new friends. We were there to eat. And, eat we did. Ordered 3 items off of the lunch menu (sushi lunch, Unaju Lunch (eel over rice) and maki lunch) + the Sushi Deluxe and the fried squid. Food was truly great. My guess is that the rice is koshihikari and very well sesoned. Fish was very fresh and melt in your mouth. The sushi was prepared very well: decent cuts of seafood over reasonable ball of rice (not too big and not too small - just right!). My nihon-jin friend (who was visiting from Japan) said: "this rivals Tokyo" with half the prices.
I would drive from the other side of Houston to come back and eat here. Outstanding!!!
Initially, I thought this a place that needs to be on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, but then again I am not sure the staff could accommodate such growth. So for now, let's keep it our little secret!

Food: Food was pretty solid. I got the Pork Katsu, which was very hearty with two cutlets, while my Dad got the Chirashu lunch, which had a 6-piece roll and 5 pieces of sushi. Food was tasty and fresh.
Service: Service was stretched thin. There was space for ~20 seated patrons in the restaurant but only one waitperson and one sushi chef who doubled as front of house. She was apologetic of the wait but I really hope Sushi Miyagi hires more waitstaff / chefs. Even a friendly waitstaff can’t overcome the 1.5 hour wait times for food.
Atmosphere: The restaurant was quaint and our table featured a cool fish poster incorporated into the table. The waiting area was very limited, with us noticing several groups lefts due to a long wait time and no space to sit.
Value: Entrees were right under $20/ entree, which is mid-range for Japanese restaurants.
So why the 2-star review? Sushi Miyagi had extremely long wait times - we arrived around 11:40 and were seated around 12:15. We ordered pretty quickly but got our food almost an hour later at 1:15.

OK, so the good stuff- price and quantity. However, this is not Kata and this is not Uchi which means the fish is not as delicate and there are no additions to elevate the flavors. We went there for lunch, and this is a good place for locals to grab lunch with generous portions. The server there was kind enough to remove the eel from the sushi lunch even though it does say no substitutions on the menu.

This is the best sushi in Houston. The fish quality here cannot be met by other places. This place is truly a gem and not to be missed. The long wait times are absolutely worth it. Come half-hungry, it will be a while before you get some food.

NOTE: My friend and I came in on Thursday at 12:30 but was informed that it would be a two hour wait for food so we came on Friday at 11:40 (there were already two people waiting in front of us and by 11:50, there was a line of 15 people). If you want to be seated right away, I would strongly recommend arriving at the latest 11:45. On other weekdays (besides Friday) and the weekend, you might get away with arriving around 11:50/12 but the earlier the better because the inside isn’t very big.
Review: This is a hole in the wall restaurant ran by an older Japanese couple. The husband is the one making/assembling all the sushi and sashimi while the wife is tirelessly taking and running orders. My friend and I ordered the Agedashi Tofu, Spicy Salmon Roll, and the Sushi Lunch Combo. Everything tasted amazing and fresh here. The agedashi tofu was perfectly fried and the sauce was delicious. The sushi was just as amazing - the fish pieces were thick so I appreciate the fact that they didn’t skimp on that unlike many other sushi restaurants.
The interior was also super cute, full of Japanese decor and knick knacks. I was also able to talk to the owners a little bit and they are super sweet and hardworking. It was so nice being able to support a small local Japanese business. Japanese people are hard to come by in general so it was heartwarming to finally be able to converse with Japanese folks besides my family members.
Overall, I absolutely loved it here and will be coming back!
とても美味しかったです。ごちそうさまでした!

Hands down the best casual sushi place in town. The restaurant is ran by a super friendly husband and wife team, serving sushi favorites, with generous portions. We've been here countless times, and always leave very full and satisfied. Miyagi-san is the only one behind the sushi counter prepping the food, so be patient...the wait can be a little long when they're busy. Trust me, your patience will be rewarded!
We love their charashi bowl, along with their chopped scallop sushi. Their nigiris are also delicious, with the sushi rice as exactly as we remembered it when we traveled to Japan. They are VERY generous with their protein, you won't get tiny slivers of fish here! Try this place out! You won't be disappointed.

A lovely wife and husband ran sushi spot. The portions are nice and the quality of the fish is top notched. They do have very short hours of 12pm to 3pm, and it’s always packed. The husband does all of the sushi work, while the wife handles all of the clients and other dishes. Please be patient with them because they’re working as hard as they can! They tend to have a line on weekends before they open up, so keep that in mind. There’s always a wait, but it’s worth it for this lil gem!

Since this restuarant has limited seatings and ran by just the couple, the wait may be long. However, the food was worth to try. The agedashi tofu sauce was light and on point as the bite into the tofu was lightly crunchy and soft. A small miso soup to get the taste buds going. The size of the sushi and rolls were a bit bigger than usual for us. Flavors and freshness were great. The curry rice was delicuously light.

As much as i would love to gatekeep, i just can’t. the restaurant interior itself is absolutely beautiful in detail and very comforting. it’s run by the cutest couple ever and they are extremely talented in what they do. the sushi quality and freshness never fails to amaze me. their prices are also unbeatable! though i absolutely would not mind paying more just because this business truly deserves all the revenue and attention they can get! an all around superb experience each and every single time.

This is truly a local mom and pop restaurant, especially since it's only a pair of husband and wife working together. Be patient when you eat here, since there are only two people working so service can be slow when it's crowded but in exchange you get an incredible sushi with unbeatable price. Everything are how you expect an authentic sushi place should be - the rice was cooked to perfection with a dash of vinegar, the fish was cut in generous potion and pair well together, everything taste delicious and they have the best unagi in town!!!
Lunch menu here is a deal, the chirashi and the unaju is just insanely good.

[2013] I really like this place for Sushi. Sushi is amazingly good, and it is family owned. The price is average for a typical sushi restaurant and they usually have a pretty good lunch special. Always plenty of parking. Sushi(and the rice bowls) here are excellent quality and the environment is peaceful. The MUSIC is excellent! I want to grab their track so bad! Really helps create a great atmosphere. This place has probably become my favorite sushi restaurant in town. :D
[2022] Still my favorite place in town ;)

I wish I found this hidden gem earlier. It's a quaint mom and pop sushi restaurant run by a lovely Japanese couple. I arrived later in the afternoon and was able to be immediately seated. I don't think you can find the same quality (and quantity) of fish at the price of Sushi Miyagi anywhere else in Houston - I ordered the Sushi lunch combo, which contained 5 sushi/nigiri (salmon, shrimp, unagi, tuna, yellowtail), and a maki roll. I was amazed at how thickly sliced the sushi was (almost thought they put slices of sashimi on the rice, I could barely fit one nigiri into my mouth), and I was also served with a bowl of delicious miso soup. I think the pictures speak for themselves - this is the place to go if you're craving nigiri or sashimi served by the lovely owner, as opposed to an ostentatious fusion sushi roll with a funky name. Highly recommended!

Waiting is long (approximately 2hrs), but it is worth it, very traditional Japanese style sushi and you can feel the passion for food from the chef. The sushi lunch I don't recommend since I think others with similar prices have a much better and unique taste.

I like it. Not the best sushi in town but very enjoyable. And it’s affordable. Plus it’s a local mom pop shop so eating here, you’ll be supporting a small business!
They have the weirdest hours ever but if you do manage to come here, it’s great. Come early. There’s always a line forming at least 30 mins prior to opening time for lunch. And once seated, the waitress will take orders one table at a time. So please be patient!
My friend and I opted for the lunch chirashi bowl, crunchy salmon bowl and a few pieces of spicy chopped nigiris. Chirashi bowl was definitely a great choice. Fresh fish on a bowl of rice. It’s great for sharing too. And you can’t ever go wrong with spicy chopped scallops! These were huge! And filled with lots of masago! Would definitely order these all the time if I could! The crunchy salmon bowl to me was a little overrated. It’s probably one of their most popular item. And quite frankly, it’s a little pricey ($30) for a lot of tempura bits mixed with salmon. Even though I enjoyed it, I think it’s just not worth $30! Agedashi tofu was great. Lightly fried and the sauce was perfect. Overall, food was pleasant and service wasn’t too shabby. I need to go back for lunch asap!

Great mom and pop sushi shop. Best for 2-4 people max. The sushi is great but be ready to wait!

You know that scene from Ratatouille when the old, cantankerous food critic sits down expecting nothing and getting the most emotionally touching experience of his life? Yeah. Sushi Miyagi delivers.
In a world where the dining scene is starting to become repetitive from suburb to suburb, overtaken by chains (reliable and good in their own capacity of course, but lacking a certain mom and pop charm), I'm glad to have found this place. Come here and support this humble establishment. You'll discover more of yourself in the process.

THE BEST! You can tell that the sushi chef genuinely loves making sushi. It is inspiring to watch!

I love this spot. While the outside appearance doesn’t do justice to the quality of food here, you must try this place once if you love sushi.
I have traveled the world for my businesses and have been to Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Osaka multiple times. I must say this is as close to sushi in Japan as you can get - maybe even better than 90% of sushi places in Japan.
While the wait can be long, I think the food more than over compensate for this. This place is my favorite sushi restaurant in Japan and US.

This is a lovely little place but the food taste is very big and very delicious and not overly expensive. Great times were had.

Get there early because the fill up fast. The Dragon Eye Roll is RIDICULOUS GOOD and their Shrimp Shumai is INCREDIBLE! Love this place

This place has a very limited window regarding the time it's actually opened. Very small mom and pop restaurant where the wait could be a little more than expected but this place is a must try in Houston. The fish quality was absolutely amazing and I will be back here to try more from the menu.

The fish is so fresh! We have eaten at many sushi places in Houston, this is one of the best. It is priced reasonably as well. My boyfriend and I can eat great sushi for $40 and not be leaving hungry. We will definitely be back!

If you decide to come in the weekend, make sure to get an hour earlier because there is a line usually. I went for the first time with friends, and it is a great place to eat sushi! For the price, it was well worth it. The owners really care. Please be patient because this is indeed a mom-and-pop restaurant. The husband and wife runs this place and tries their best to create an authentic dining experience.

Very fresh fish, well seasoned sushi rice, reasonably priced, simply good food. There are no unusual combinations or convoluted sauces. Although I do enjoy that kind of an experience once in a while; this place just isn't that.
This restaurant is small and fills up quickly. There is usually a line of people out the door waiting for a table; you can't put your name down. Place your order all at once to minimize wait time. You have to wait to place a to-go order just the same. I do not believe they take orders over the phone. I'm not sure what it's like on weekdays. Worth the wait!!

The food at Sushi Miyagi was great. Most of the appetizers are bland without the sauce so keep that in mind. The ginger and wasabi is fresh. The presentation is cute and well done. The Japanese soda was new to me and my friends and it was really cool to us.
Unfortunately, the waitress we had was rushing us and while she wasn't overtly rude, she was subtlety rude. She was by herself and she was doing dining-in orders and to-go orders.
It annoyed her that my friends and I were taking so long to decide what to eat. First it was three of us and one friend arrived late. We didn't want to order until she arrived. Also, we were talking while looking over the menu, so we were distracted. She kept telling us, she has a lot of to-go orders and the slower we are, the longer it will take to get our food.
I've never experienced this before. Generally, every place I've been to, allow us to look for what we want and they come back and check if we're ready. They don't expect us to know as soon as we are seated. And if we don't know when they deliver the drinks, they come back.
Her tip suffered from her rudeness and I can't see myself going back. The restaurant is small with maybe 5-8 tables. It's very cozy. They'd benefit from a hostess that can handle the to-go orders and seating the people, so the waitress isn't overwhelmed and rude. Also, they need a busser, a person who can pick up the plates, wipe down the table and wash the dishes. For one woman to do the bussing, hosting, and waitressing will hurt their business. They have the potential to grow since the sushi is delicious.
When my friend and I arrived, only one table had people. We seated ourself, the lady then brought our menu. That's when I asked for a third for my friend. After about 10 minutes more people arrived but they just stood there waiting to be seated while the lady ran around. After they were seated. The people ordered, ate, and left. We were talking for so long, most people left before us. Tables sat there dirty while other people stood. She didn't rush us to leave and I remember my friend saying, there's tables available.
When we first arrived, tables were available while people stood. I guess they weren't as bold as we were to seat themselves, but after people ate and left, the tables were dirty. Hence the restaurant needs a hostess and busser. If they can't afford both, the best bet is a hostess. She can seat the people, take to-go orders, and clean the tables.
Overall I'd recommend the food. If they get another worker, I'd probably go back.

This place is great place. Sushi is amazing!!! Go out of my way across town to come here 🙏

The pinnacle example of mom and pop shop. Husband and wife hustle hard and put in all their heart into it. Resulting in possible long waits but genuine passion for quality and service. Spicy scallops, amazing tofu, and fresh sashimi. Place is not at all what you'd expected with passion art work from the auntie and randomness of the decor. I'd still come back to try more ! Pricing and quality is amazing for its location ! Enjoy !

Highly recommended! Food is so delicious.
Everything we try is very impressive.
My favorite is the crispy spicy salmon salad.
Very fresh, tasty, with layers of texture and flavor. Must try!!
We came on Tuesday afternoon around 2. There is table no need to wait. I was expecting a long waiting time. But actually, we did not wait long for our first dish to come. Maybe only 15-20 minutes.
A really pleasant experience here, will definitely come again.

I went to the restaurant at 12:10 pm on a Thursday. There was one table left. I waited more than 10 mins for someone to seat me. The waitress (only one waitress) walked by me 3-4 times, totally ignored me without any words or eye contact. Finally, I asked her for to-go orders. She suddenly got very mad and started to yell “no way, no way”. I was very confused about her anger. She then said it would be unfair for me to get the food ahead of other people. I explained I would wait. She said it won’t help as it would take more than one hour to fill my order. OK, I got the message. She just wanted to kick me out. I understand this is a busy mom and dad shop, but it still doesn’t justify how rude and disrespectful they treat their customers.

I’m here now @4pm on a Thursday for an early dinner. This sushi is GOOD and very fresh tasting. It must be popular bc even this early, the place is 3/4s full. Decent prices. It’s so good, I’m ordering more to go for lunch tomorrow.

Truly the best in the entire Houston area! I heard about this place for years and I promise you it is worth the drive and the limited hours! The quality of the Sushi is second to none! Just make sure you arrive early as this place is run by only two individuals, a husband and wife duo, so wait times exponentially increase after opening.

Long waiting line. Not enough workers

Amazing, authentic sushi experience. Everything is made fresh to order. They have some of the freshest fish in all of Houston. Every specialty roll I've tried is amazing, and so are their sushi combos. This small hole-in-the-wall is operated entirely by a couple: the husband is the sushi master, and the wife waits tables. Because of this, their hours are quite limited, and do have some patience as wait times are quite long.

I know everyone says that service is on the slower side, but we waited as much as a busy larger restaurant... not bad at all!
The food was really good!
They could use selling alcohol, but the tea was fresh and delicious!!! The ice tea and the hot green tea were both very good!

We stopped in at 2pm on a Friday. We waited for someone to seat us. They walked by us 3-4 times and did not acknowledge us. After 10 minutes, we left without ever getting seated.

Definitely my new place for Japanese comfort food now. Prices are fairly affordable. I went at 2pm so it was only half full and there wasn’t much wait time.
Chirashi lunch is pretty good at $15. This is one of rare places where akami tuna sashimi is very fresh and clean. The unagi and the rice stood out the most for me. The spicy crunchy salmon maki was great as well — interesting texture and flavour. Agedashi tofu was freshly made and tasted amazing too.

Astronomical wait times, an inability to order take out ahead of time (by phone, couldn't find a website), and overwhelmingly large chunks of cucumber in the otherwise amazing Spicy Scallop Roll dampened my visit, but the food quality is so stellar that it saves this review.

Such an authentic sushi place in the middle of Bellaire area! Great food, good price if you don't mind the wait...

Honestly this is one of the best authentic sushi places in Houston. I love this place so much.
The two who work here are very nice and respectful. They’re patient and very helpful with ordering.
The food quality never fails me. It’s super fresh and the taste is amazing. The cuts are good and very nice portions. They definitely focus on the product and presentation.
The place is super clean and small.
I love it here and I recommend this place to others.
