Kinzo, or “neighborhood” in Japanese, blends traditional Edomae style sushi with the art of French cuisine, transforming simple ingredients to bite-size masterpieces through artful techniques. Kinzo’s evolving menu is inspired by the finest ingredients at the peak of their freshness and flavors foraged from Executive Chef & Owner Leo Kekoa’s roots in Hawaii. With a special focus on Toyosu Market in Japan. While Kinzo prides itself on edomae nigiri exclusive omakase, its diverse menu strives to appeal to a spectrum of palates in taste and quality right in your very own “neighborhood”.
Everyone has been raving about this place and now I know why!
First of all, I love the aesthetic and the vibes. It’s the traditional sushi bar style restaurant. Not only that, I was excited about their full bar and their unique cocktail menus. Not many places carry blackberry flavor and their blackberry yuzu smash was amazing! It hits the spot as it wasn’t too sweet.
Moving on, I had their omakase. From beginning to the end, their service and fish selection was top notch. Chefs make sure you are well taken care of and get the full explanations of the dishes you are eating. The dishes were flavorful. I would say it’s mix traditional dish with modern twists to it. Fish were all very fresh. And not only that, I was blown away by their Uni! Probably the best I ever had in my life - as a person who always gets Uni. I would highly recommend for a fancy dinner or taking your loved ones to celebrate ✨highly recommend

Without a doubt, some of the best sushi I've ever had. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the preparation was exactly what each dish needed. Light, savory, and delicious. Our server was helpful, non intrusive, and provided excellence service. The restaurant location was surprising considering the quality of the food, but inside, you are transported by wood tones, beautiful serveware, and enchanting cuisine. Although I didn't partake, the craft bar menu was well prepared. I also saw a huge sake menu, which is hard to come by. Kinzo offers hot and cold dishes. The 48-hour marinated cod was especially delightful. We were lucky to get the last available piece this evening. If you intend to try it, go earlier for the dinner service. Without exaggeration, each item we chose this evening blew us away with its flavor and freshness. Two small dings: Our sushi chef, quite obviously, had a cold. The sniffing, sneezing (in the back), and wiping a runny nose was a bit of a distraction to our meal. I will update you if I come down with anything! Also, the high bar chairs offered at the prep bar were not supporting my husband, who is 6'4". There isn't a leg rest rail at the prep bar, you have to use the rail on the chair and his frame does not allow him to rest his feet tucked on the chair rail the entire time for a two hour meal. He left the restaurant with a sore back and a crick in his neck. We will choose the table dining option for our next visit. We certainly intend to return and bring our friends.

Some of the best sushi I have ever had, make sure you try more options from their specials vs the menu. It is on the expensive side so be ready for that. 100% take this over Uchi!

There isn't enough to say about this place. Kinzo has been our go-to spot for over a year now, and we can't get enough of it!

I think we stumbled on to a hidden gem. There are times we want some good sushi but just can’t think of anything local! So, we googled it and this little place popped up with very high ratings so we went to try it ourselves.
WOW! Definitely unexpected! We walked inside to find it full and it was actually an interesting set up and atmosphere. We asked for suggestions of what to get, and actually talked with the Head Chef so you know we had very high expectations!
Each of our picks was made fresh, right in front of us.
The only downside was that our waiter was not very reliable so we sat waiting for our drinks for a while and ended up being waited on by the host and one of the cooks. Eventually we found another waitress to get our check.
We really loved the food and enjoyed the atmosphere and have told our adult kids, that they need to go try it out as well! We are looking forward to our next visit.

Wow, just wow! Kinzo exceeded all my expectations with an unforgettable omakase experience! The chef's selection was impeccable, with each piece of sushi a masterclass in flavor and texture. The ambiance was equally impressive - intimate, elegant, and perfectly dimly lit. The service was top-notch, with knowledgeable and attentive staff happy to guide us through the meal. If you're a sushi lover, do yourself a favor and book a seat at Kinzo's omakase bar. Trust me, you won't regret it! 5 stars and a new favorite sushi spot!

Omakase - Not Worth It. For the price, the ingredients used are either cheap or served in very small portions. The location in Far North Dallas might work for them since they can't compete with other high-quality omakase sushi restaurants. They seem to target people who aren't familiar with market-standard omakase or are trying it for the first time. Anyone who has experienced omakase in Downtown would likely share the same opinion.

The waitress was phenomenal and attentive, the chef was knowledgeable and passionate about what he was serving. From start to finish, everything was planned and precise. Having been to over 50 sushi restaurants in dfw, I can easily place this one at the top of my list and the contrast is stark. The menu shifts with the seasons, and depending on what can be caught, so I won't get into food specifics, but I have enough confidence in the chef that I doubt it matters. You will enjoy the experience.

Every review less than 5 stars for this restaurant are from people complaining about the price. But this is expected pricing for a place of these quality ingredients. The people that gave this rating were obviously not familiar with this.
This place is worth your time and money. It is an experience worth having, and very memorable. If you're a fan of sushi and are willing to splurge a bit, this is worth it. This isn't a place to visit often, there are likely far more reasonable places closer to ones home than this, but this is worth the experience, if only once

Pleasantly surprised to have a nice high quality sushi in Frisco. I am a big fan of hatsuyuki in fort worth but this is easier to get to. A bit more $$$ but fairly comparable and since I can get to ikea and uniqlo which are my 2 favorite store near this restaurant, I will frequent here.
Chefs are cordial and friendly. Also less wait than hatsuyuki and they do take reservation. Also they have desserts which hatsuyuki does not offer.
Good job!

Kinzo Sushi in Frisco is an absolute gem! The spicy tuna crispy rice is simply amazing – perfectly crispy on the outside with a flavorful, spicy kick that melts in your mouth. The traditional omakase experience is also a must-try.
Each piece is crafted with such attention to detail, offering an authentic taste that’s both fresh and delicious. And if you’re looking for a great deal, their happy hour is fantastic with good prices on both omakase and appetizers. Kinzo is definitely one of my go-to sushi spots in Frisco – highly recommend

My wife and I went for the full omakase for our anniversary. The chef and staff were welcoming, and the food was delicious and exceptional. You can literally feel each piece of nigiri melting in your mouth.
However, a minor but unpleasant aspect of the overall experience was that when we sat down and were asked what type of water we’d like, we weren’t informed there would be a charge for it. When the bill came, there was an additional $6 charge for each bottle of San Pellegrino, and with tax and the enforced 22% tip, I ended up paying about $15 for two bottles of water. Given the price charged for omakase, I had assumed water was included, and this markup for two bottles of water seemed excessive. I’m okay with paying, but no one likes to be surprised.

This place has gone downhill since it opened. For a luxury sushi spot, I would expect more. Food is still delicious, but when the server can’t recommend anything on the menu and only points you to the most expensive thing in the menu it puts a damper on your experience. It also doesn’t help when you recommend something just to find out you are sold out of it. If I’m paying this much for dinner I expect to be wowed and this experience just wasn’t that.

Beautiful place, incredible food and knowledgeable staff! We had an amazing time! However, my husband is in a wheelchair and they have ZERO ADA/accessible seating. He was able to climb into a bar stool for our reservation tonight but it was not ideal. We would love to go back but it's so hard when places, in 2024, don't have accessible seating. I'm pretty sure there's laws governing accessibility standards. Hopefully they make at least one ADA table so we can enjoy this place again, in comfort.

Don't get me wrong the sushi is delicious, service was Top Notch, and the restaurant itself was beautiful but.....
This place is so pretentious and expensive that after 4 nigiri I paid out and went to a different sushi place.
Let me explain. The price is 8 to 16 bucks for each nigiri order, and each nigiri order only come with one piece of nigiri unlike most sushi places and the one piece of nigiri is notably smaller than most mid-range sushi places. I have four nigiri one large sake and paid $63.00 after tip. Each such roll (Maki) is minimum $25.00.
If you make 90,000 a year yes this place is great for you but if not go somewhere else.

Kinzo has a different feel in the best of ways. You walk in and feel like it’s your neighborhood sushi place. Everyone greets you and makes you feel so at home. I made the mistake of taking my wife to another sushi place for our anniversary instead of oir usual Kinzo and two days later found ourselves back at Kinzo so I could make it up to her. The chefs, atmosphere, bartenders, and entire staff make this place our favorite.

I live in LA but have friends in Dallas whom I visit fairly often. I happened to be in town when Kinzo first opened, and my friends and I have been making sure to include it in our itinerary ever since!
I've tried the omakase here 2-3 times now and every experience was such a joy. Each course is so meticulously and beautifully designed by Chef Leo Kekoa, and the food is so rich with flavor. I personally love yuzu, so a little hint of it in various courses is certainly a treat!
An exquisite, intimate ambience great for date nights. The service is top-notch and all the chefs are so knowledgeable and professional yet also very approachable.
I can honestly say I've had better sushi and fine-dining experience here at Kinzo than at some of the very renowned places in LA. So worth the price and highly recommend!

The ambience of a restaurant plays a critical role in one's dining experience: omakase at Kinzo was disappointing. We were served at the sushi bar with extremely loud customers dining à la carte all around us. I personally don't prefer fine dining at a pub.
When choosing a bottle of sake, I asked about SMV - the staff had no idea what I was talking about. A little diligence in knowing the product you are selling would likely bring out genuine enthusiasm when explaining to customers to allow an enhanced pairing experience.
Plating was thoughtful, but we found seasoning a bit overpowering - often masking the flavor of the fish. There are definitely better omakase experiences in Dallas, but this establishment can be an alternative if you prefer to stay in the suburbs and/or if you have difficulty securing reservations elsewhere. If I were to return, it would be for a casual dinner off the à la carte menu.

Blown away from the quality of the sushi here! The service is amazing. Went here for my birthday and early Father’s Day dinner. Chef Jin is thorough and extremely kind. I tell everyone about Kinzo that mentions they enjoy sushi. It’s definitely an experience that is worth your time.

We got the mini omakase, chicken karaage, and one of the rolls. Everything was delicious and fresh. The 4 stars has nothing to do with the food or the friendliness of the staff. The design of the counter is such that I couldn't watch them make any of my nigiri and our chef had a really thick accent and didn't speak loudly so all of that combined just meant I had very little idea what I was actually eating. Not a huge deal, but the main reason I do omakase is to watch it be made. I do also think the mini omakase should be filling by itself for the price, but it wasn't for me.

I recently dined at Kinzo Omakase and was blown away by the exceptional experience. The freshness of the ingredients was unmatched, with each course highlighting the exquisite quality of the fish and seafood. The customer service was superb, with attentive and knowledgeable staff enhancing the meal. Chef Jin's extraordinary skill and passion were evident in every dish, combining traditional techniques with innovative flair. His engaging interactions added a personal touch to the evening. Overall, Kinzo Omakase exceeded my expectations with its impeccable freshness, outstanding service, and Chef Jin's culinary brilliance. Highly recommended.

Got Omakase with my girlfriend. It wasn’t bad at all, but it wasn’t great. For that price, I want each bite to be memorable. The sushi chef was friendly, nice and describing each dish. I just felt the food was just not worth the price. The atmosphere was ok, but the layout is just weird. The bar is small and there’s a huge sushi bar where you have to sit around a huge sushi prep area and there’s a fake tree in their way. It just was awkward. I will say the desert was very delicious! So it ended well!

I can't believe all this time I've been in the neighborhood that this was my first time to find this hidden gem. This place was absolutely incredible and hands down the BEST sushi and overall experience. This place is in an area that so unassuming upon walking in, the atmosphere transforms into such an elevated place as it's such a beautiful surprise. I had the pleasure sitting at the bar as you definitely need reservations to sit and get the Chef experience. Sam assisted me throughout the evening making my first time visit an incredible one. She took the time to review and explain the menu. Each course I had was a surprise and delight. When the food was brought out, each dish was explained to me so I knew exactly what I was receiving. There are no words how incredbily impressed I was about this restaurant and would encourage you to expereince this establishment as you will not be disappointed. The former Nobu Chef's were spot on creating a home here in Frisco, as we desperately needed a place like Kinzo! Cheers.

This has now become my favorite place to get sushi/omakase. I’ve eaten at multiple Michelin star restaurants in Japan that weren’t nearly as good as Kinzo. It was so good the first time that I booked a reservation for three weeks later while I was eating. I live an hour away and it plays no role in my decision to come here. Everything about our experience at Kinzo was phenomenal, from start to finish. We were celebrating our anniversary, and passing our sommelier exam, so I wanted something special. My significant other had never done an omakase before, so after some research, I discovered Kinzo. Tae was our server, and was warm and welcoming. He provided sake recommendations, and was incredibly attentive. Chef Jin executed the omakase flawlessly, while providing entertaining conversation, simultaneously weaving in descriptions of each of the ~16 courses (I admittedly lost count, since it flowed so seamlessly). The quality of each course was delightfully top notch. To say I was impressed is an understatement. What Chef Leo and Chef Jin are doing here is beautiful, and the dining experience was unforgettable. We look forward to returning, as Kinzo set a very high bar.

My second daughter had an NCA competition in Dallas, so we visited the KINZO in Frisco with my first daughter on Saturday. I wanted to experience omakase and made a reservation, but due to my mistake, it was booked for a regular meal. I was worried that the reservation might be canceled after traveling almost 3 hours from Austin, Texas. Fortunately, the owner personally took care of our omakase course. I cannot express how impressed I was... We experienced 18 courses, and perhaps because the owner personally prepared them, the flavors were indescribably excellent when each grain of rice entered our mouths. If given the chance, I definitely want to visit again. The food was outstanding, the owner was very kind, and the service was flawless. The restaurant was elegant, and it was a truly exceptional evening with my daughter.

The Omakase is $250+ per person after drinks, tax, tip. The fish was very fresh and the head chef Jin is very knowledgeable about the different types of fish. 16 of the 18 dishes were fantastic, the tomato / shrimp / octopus dish did not work for me and the miso soup just should not be a dish in of itself. The atmosphere needs work, it doesn’t feel like a place to drop $500+ on 2 people.
My only real complaint is that after 18 courses and 2 hours I was still hungry. I am not a big person, but I had to go home and grab some food.
I am not sure if I would go back anytime soon, DFW has so many omakase experiences now so maybe will check those out instead.

Jan 2024: Second visit, equally amazing! Best high end sushi in DFW…better than Nobu, Namo, Keeichi, Shoyo and Kai. They have a great bar with super Japanese whiskey 🥃 collection (Yamazaki, Hakushu, Hibiki), just wish they had more high end ones too (like Yamazaki 18, Hibiki 17, etc)
Nov 2023: Wow! What an amazing experience!!
Amazing food, exceptional service and great drinks. A must try.
Have been driving a long distance (downtown Dallas or FW) and flying (Japan, NYC, San Fran) to get this caliber Japanese food. Everything we tried (19 items) were absolutely delicious.
As with all higher end Japanese places, the dishes are pricey but totally worth every penny. Will absolutely be frequenting this place.
Our server Jeremy was very knowledgeable and provided an exceptional experience.
Do try the Toro, 🍣 Sea Bass skewers, King Salmon, Hamachi, Aji, Kanpachi, Madai and Crème Brûlée 🍮
The Japanese whiskey 🥃 collection is good and cocktails are amazing (Lychee, Pear infused drinks)

It’s an intimate omakase with very fresh and high quality fish. You also get a good view of the chefs working. It’s a little pricey but definently worth trying at least once. The chef is very friendly and had great explanations, making jokes that would make the whole table laugh. He would even trade stories with you.
Just a warning ask for boiled/tap water specifically or they’ll give you $6 bottled water! Also I wasn’t the biggest fan of the hot food, which was some kind of skewer fish with teriyaki sauce, or the clam miso soup but everything else was delicious.
Although the menu changes every week the chef recommended going different seasons to get the full variety of dishes!

Wow, just wow. I took my girlfriend here for her 30th birthday and we did the omakase and both agreed, without exaggeration, it was the best meal we've ever had. Chef Jin was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and it was fascinating learning about the significance of the dishes in other cultures. The meticulous care put into selecting ingredients, to preparation, to providing you with this amazing experience was utterly astounding. This had made me realize I've never had amazing sushi. Sushi I used to think of amazing has become mediocre and what I used to think of as mediocre has become bottom shelf. It was absolutely top notch and I can't say enough positive things about the food, the experience, the staff and Chef Jin in particular. Thank you so much.

Had the pleasure of enjoying the mini omikase and traditional selection last night and it didn't disappoint. Incredible fresh. Attentive staff. Stellar ambiance. I wish I took more photos of the food, but I couldn't wait to dig in. I will certainly be back for the full omikase experience. I encourage everyone to book ahead as this place is high in demand and seating is limited. Enjoy!

My husband and I have been twice for Kinzo’s Omakase. The food is excellent and certainly worth the cost! The staff is very kind and attentive and has made our visits even more enjoyable. Sam was our chef for our latest experience and he was great! I highly recommend Kinzo, you will not be disappointed.

Wow wow wow. Amaaaaaazing food and excellent service!! The drinks were wonderful too. We arrived a few minutes late for our reservation but no issues getting seated. I love that the whole restaurant is counter seating. We started with some cocktails (I got the Pear Martini - highly recommend!) and then went with the Mini Omakase. Literally everything in the omakase was so good. When we were done we did need to add a few more things so we added some additional Nigiri and some Chicken and one roll. All of the Nigiri is so perfectly dressed so you don't need to add ANY sauces. The owner is so nice and all the sushi chefs are so knowledgeable (and I mean serious shout out to our server who knew the answer to everything). It is quite pricey but one of the few pricey places that are actually worth it!! We'll be back!!

Great omakase experience, strongly recommend adding wagyu, lobster, scallops given the 500$ price for 2. Chef Richi made the experience memorable and definitely beats nobu salty omakase.

All I can say is WOW. Sure, it is expensive, but you are paying for top notch quality and air-flown fish. I've never spent so much on a dinner, but frankly, I wasn't upset about it. The flavor combinations were out of this world, and beyond fresh. I will definitely be returning to treat myself! If you can afford it, you need to experience Kinzo!

It is always pleasant to dine here. I go here fairly often when I crave good sushi. Although it is a little pricey, the food is really good. Almost as good as nobu. Staff is super nice too. My waiter was so attentive that we tipped extra.

Amazing addition to this neighborhood. I have to say, some of the best sushi restaurants in the for corners of The Colony, Frisco, Prosper, and Little Elm.

We have been to Kinzo multiple times since its opening and each time was better than the previous! If you're a fan of fresh and delicious sushi, you've got to check them out. This place is a real gem when it comes to serving up top-notch sashimi and some seriously amazing sushi. There is a board listing what is the fresh catch of the day so you can decide what to get. To name a few of the best dishes we had: Hamachi Chili, Toro Tatare Caviar, Haru & Fuyu Maki, Otoro & Amaebi Nigiri. The sashimi and nigiri is fresh, like really fresh. Each piece is carefully crafted together with the proper ingredients for a taste explosion in every bite. They are also one of the few places that serve fresh wasabi!
Walking in, you'll notice it's got a nice, cozy vibe that's pretty vibrant. The folks working there are really friendly and make you feel right at home. The service is spot on. The staff members are knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to make your dining experience exceptional.
Highly recommend!!!

Two people omakase for 500 including tips & 2 drinks. Was disappointed neither uni nor ebi were included in the course
Now onto the food, the fishes were super fresh and well-seasoned. They actually sourced their fishes from Toyosu market in Tokyo. It was also a nice surprise they have fresh wasabi and was grating it while making nigiris
Desserts were crème brulee, green tea mochi, and baby peach. The crème brulee was amazing, not too sweet & very smooth. Besides the price, highly recommend the omakase

There is not a bad item on the menu. As a sushi and Japanese food lover, I appreciate the care and thought this team has put into the menu. Chef Leo is very friendly, tries to talk to all his guests, and cares deeply about the consistency of quality his restaurant delivers. I also learned that they bring in new fish weekly all the way from Japan, which is the reason why all the sushi and nigiri here is always excellent and fresh. Oh, and they have real wasabi! When an omakase session starts, the wasabi is made fresh in front of you and served immediately. This small detail makes such a big difference in how the flavors of the item being served come together. Also, great sake selection! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Best Omakase experience in the DFW area. Second time going and planning to come back soon. Don’t know how they get their fish from Japan but one of the best ones hands down.

Have been a half dozen times and the food never disappoints. Some of the best nigiri and food I’ve ever had. This rivals all the best sushi even in Dallas and it’s in Frisco. Must try for experienced sushi/nigiri dinners.

I'd heard excellent things about this place, so my partner and I made the decision to try it out on our anniversary. You can't go wrong with anything you order from here because everything, including the beverages, food, and dessert, was fantastic. They feature a wide selection of fresh, high-quality fish from Japan. The owner, Leo, and his staff provided excellent service and were very attentive. Definitely going to return.

High quality sushi but much overpriced. I was positively surprised they had fresh wasabi which was great addition. The place was very dark and we were the only 2 guests since 8 pm till closing. The chefs were super friendly. The check for two of us was 400 USD with the tip.

Don't walk, RUN to this restaurant. My husband and I usually drive to Dallas for this quality of sushi. So nice to have it close to home. The quality of the fish was 5 star, service was amazing, and the atmosphere was perfect. Perfect for date night!

Amazing sushi! Amazing service! Sushi in Frisco or anywhere close can not beat Kinzo! My favorites are all the maki, hamachi chili, and the toyosu market Kinmedai. But seriously, I don't think there is a bad dish! Haven't done the Omakase yet, so excited to try that.

Hands down the best sushi restaurant in the northern suburbs of Dallas. On par with Uchi. The food was phenomenal, and the chefs and staff very professional and knowledgeable. This is THE spot for a special occasion sushi meal north of Dallas!! Can’t wait to go back!

The three of us had the quick “mini omakase” option on a Sunday afternoon as we were a tad pressed for time.
The space is new ish and really beautiful with a cherry blossom tree center, and the seating around it as well as tables.
As for the omakase, tldr: Every bit of fish was honestly an explosion of flavor in my mouth.
3 bowls of three sashimi pieces and 5 piece nigiri as well as a hand roll. I don’t remember names too well but it was all very very good. The word I thought of was fresh for sure. We ended with a crème brûlée that was left spotless. I can’t say this mini option left me too hungry to be honest, it was surprisingly filling.
The service was great, quick and we didn’t sit around for 2 hours as I kind of expect for omakase sets these days. I loved that. A must try for sure. The price is perfectly reasonable as far as the type and quality of food served but I would agree this isn’t an everyday eats place, but that makes it all the more special.
Enjoyed my visit here and will try to return for the full course menu!

Some of the best sushi my partner from Japan and I’ve had in some time. Prices are reasonable, especially considering that fish are flown in from Japan and the level of care across all their dishes.
The miso cod might be better than the Roy Yamagachi original. Not to be missed.

I came across this place awhile ago but never had the opportunity to try. Found out a few days before the end of May that reservations only open up once a month so jumped on the chance to get a reservation. I suspect the omakase is what fills up fast. I opted to not do the omakase because I know what I would want to eat and don't like to waste stomach space on additional dishes I don't care for.
I had the hirame garlic truffle to start and the rest of what I ordered were the following sushi. Hotate, amaebi, spicy tuna temaki, akamutsu, ika and Hokkaido uni.
The fish here is fresh, probably the best quality fish I have had in the DFW area. Half the sushi menu comes from Toyosu Fish Market in Tokyo. All the sushi here comes already ready to eat i.e. you don't need to dip in shoyu as they brush on shoyu or sprinkle on salt depending on the specific fish.
I sat in front of Jin so he made everything I ordered. He was awesome.
One thing that I didn't care for was it was a little on the fusion side. For example putting sesame seeds in the sushi. It also is a little more than you would pay for at other places but the quality was worth it. It's cheaper for me to have a meal here than flying to Japan so I think totally fine on occasion.

The culinary experience at this restaurant was superb, with both the service and food exceeding expectations. The freshness of the ingredients was evident, and the chef's meticulous attention to detail could rival any Michelin-starred establishment. It was particularly enjoyable to watch the chef in action, preparing meals with finesse right before our eyes. He even took the time to share where our fish was sourced, adding a personal touch to the dining experience.
We visited shortly after the restaurant first opened, and it was clear that certain elements, such as the decor and bar service, were still being refined. There was a minor mix-up with our drink order - our requested 'Grey Goose and Tonic' turned out to be a 'Grey Goose and Soda Water.' However, this small error was greatly overshadowed by the exceptional food and impeccable service that otherwise characterized our visit.

Everything is amazing, top quality. Best sushi I’ve had in DFW. It’s expensive but well worth it. Atomosphere very low key, perfect for a 1:1 Date night. We reserved for the A la carte and it exceeded all expectations. 10/10 recommend. Oh and Drinks are great too!

This was our first time at Kinzo and our first omakase experience and Chef Leo did not disappoint. 18 courses of dazzling and delicious food. Starting with the salad and progressing through sushi, soup, a baked dish and dessert everything that was served had deep layers of flavor and designed to highlight the main protein. The is nothing one note and speaking to the chef after dinner he talked about his desire to introduce fish that you would not see in North America and show the incredible variety that we all should experience.
And speaking of chef Leo, he was fun to watch and listen to and happy to have conversation and answer any questions. Truly a great chef and a pleasure to meet. To go along with his professionalism I absolutely must mention the host and servers who were extremely attentive, friendly and described the kitchen meals beautifully.
I have nothing negative to say about Kinzo. If you want a truly rare and amazing omakase experience then I would highly recommend making a reservation and sorting the unique restaurant.

We spent just shy of $500 dollars for two (so keep in mind it’s expensive) there last night, getting the mini omakase and several other items including the hot tasting sea bass, toro caviar, crème brûlée, etc. The food is amazing and very very fresh.. I don’t think I’ve ever had sushi so good! There’s not one item they served us that was anything less than delicious. Only down side for me is the ambience. I don’t feel like the restaurant itself is at all representative of the high price tag.

First full on omakase experience, and loved every bite of it! We did the $185 full omakase, and added the A5 Wagyu Tataki at the end.
We had Chef Leo tonight, and he was very personable and educated us every serving. I should have taken notes, but I’m a bad student lol. Every bite was so perfectly curated and fresh, I was thrown away! Worth the experience, and great addition to Frisco!

Really great flavors but way over priced considering the location and ambience. I felt $77/per person wasn't enough food and the value wasn't there...and we needed at least double the food to feel full. It just didn't feel at that price level overall. I think it should be half that to be fair.
We shared the following:
COLD TASTINGS (raw no rice)
Hamachi Chili
Kanpachi Mushroom
YAKITORI (hot bites)
Seabass (really good but tiny two bites)
Black cod
MAKI (rolls)
Aki
Fuyu (not good/contains mayonnaise)
It's located in an empty strip mall. New location so still filling in but pretty vacant. Again, great food but way overpriced.
Hope this helps. See pictures and videos.

I visited a friend in Dallas and I’m so happy I came to this place. The omakase experience is absolutely incredible - I wish I could re-taste every piece I had because it was that good. The ambiance is fun and hip - definitely feels more upscale than other omakase restaurants I’ve been to. The service was also excellent and did not leave me wanting for anything. Overall such an awesome experience that I wish I could re-live.

I only have great things to say about Kinzo!
The food is amazing—fresh, tasty, presented well, etc.
The service is outstanding—friendly, attentive, humble.
The atmosphere is relaxing—intimate, but could be family friendly (have seen kids), but since it is smaller, it tends to be the perfect mix of inviting, relaxing, warm, and fun.
We have done the mini omikase and I’ve ordered a la carte. To be honest, ordering the latter way allows you to try many different kinds of sushi/nigiri and small plates for a significantly lower price.
My only suggestion for the restaurant is to use a different leaf for the house salad with ginger dressing; the leafy greens were too overpowering for the ginger sauce, and didn’t pair the best.

I love everything about Kinzo. Kinzo is my absolute favorite sushi restaurant in DFW. I've been to several Omakase restaurants and explored many sushi places in the area but Kinzo is a clear winner. I like that they offer both Omakase and a la carte options so I don't have to stress about getting reservation. Most importantly all their sushi is so good and use high quality fish, and everyone who works there is so attentive and nice!! I normally get mini Omakase and ask for recommendations to get more sushi. The last three times I have been to Kinzo, my husband and I were extremely satisfied. This will remain as my go-to sushi place :)

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing an amazing omakase at this sushi restaurant, and from the moment we were served the starter Santenmori, we knew we were in for a treat. The assortment of fresh sashimi and appetizers was beautifully presented and set the tone for the rest of the meal.
As we progressed through the meal, we were treated to some of the most delicious sushi I have ever tasted. The Rainbow Fish was an absolute standout, with its delicate texture and subtle flavor. The Otoro was another favorite, with its melt-in-your-mouth richness and buttery flavor. And let's not forget the Japanese Barracuda, which was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor.
The simple yet perfect Japanese whiskey highball was a wonderful neutral palate cleanser that allowed the flavors of the fish to shine, while also providing a subtle flavor that elevated the overall experience. The drink was made with a Japanese whiskey that had a smooth and delicate flavor profile, and was mixed with a precise ratio of soda water. The result was a refreshing and effervescent drink that did not overpower the delicate flavors of the sushi, but rather enhanced them. The whiskey's subtle notes of vanilla and oak added a depth of flavor to each bite, and the carbonation of the soda water helped to cleanse the palate and prepare it for the next course.
But what really made this dining experience special was Leo, the chef/owner of the restaurant. His passion for sushi and dedication to his craft was evident in every dish we were served. He took the time to explain each dish beautifully, telling us about the origin of the ingredients and how they were prepared. His knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience even more special.
Overall, this sushi restaurant is a must-visit for any sushi lover. The quality of the ingredients, the skill of the chef, and the dedication to excellence are simply unparalleled. The omakase is a culinary journey that you won't soon forget. I can't wait to return and savor more of Leo's incredible creations.
