Best sushi I’ve had anywhere by far. Service was fast, food was perfect, and idk how this place isn’t busier than it is because I will absolutely be back here again. Found it by pure coincidence because we’re watching a movie nearby but soo glad we did. Excellent place if you love sushi or even just interested in trying it for the first time. We had the sweet chili edamame as an appetizer (spicy but delicious), I had the California roll & shrimp tempura roll, husband had the Vegas roll and avocado roll. Rolls had fresh ingredients, tasted amazing, and worth every penny. Highly recommend coming here to taste the amazing food!

So this place has very good shrimp fried rice and egg rolls! The reason I’m leaving a review is because they are very dishonest. I ordered a door dash on 09/16/2024 & called them to see if they can add Sriracha sauce to my bag since on DoorDash there was no way to ask for it. Well a guy answered the phone and told me they no longer carry sriracha sauce!

So today 09/18/2024 at 8:30pm I walked in and placed the same exact order & asked for sriracha sauce. They charged me $1.00 for each sauce which Is no issue but DO NOT LIE ABOUT IT VIA PHONE CALL because you couldn’t charge for it!

I wish every sushi place was as quaint and fairytale-esque as the setup of Hikari. It’s so cute, it brought a giant smile to my face as we walked in. It’s great when that happens, when you’re impressed by a restaurant before you even sit down.

But of course, it’s about much more than the looks. We had a large group and were able to try a lot of food. Sadly, none of it really wowed me. I got a spicy rainbow roll, but it was merely average. It was certainly better than a lot of sushi I’ve had, but also a far cry from being anywhere near the top.

We did enjoy our waitress a lot, who was very sweet and pretty attentive even with being quite busy. I know my family eats here a lot and I’d go back again without complaint.

I’ve been here a handful of times and each time I come I question why I even showed up. Every time I enter they ask me if I’m door dash or uber, which is the complete opposite.. I’m a customer. I’m seated fairly quick and am provided the menu.

This place is normally quick to ask you what you want to drink. The menu is a little outdated and I feel it could use an upgrade.

The sushi here is nowhere near fresh. Let’s be real we’re in the middle of Texas. I would expect it to be average with the other restaurants around, but the sushi here is lacking quality. Every time I’ve ordered a roll here the sushi practically falls apart in front of me once I grab it. It’s almost as if the chef didn’t know how to prep it. On top of all this every single time I’ve ever ordered from here I am never provided wasabi up front. So once my meal is served I have to wait another 5 mins for wasabi to land on the table.

I don’t understand being provided 1 napkin for an entire meal. The stingyness is cringe worthy and when I ask for more, the staff are confused as to why.

The atmosphere lacks an atmosphere. You have tables and booths but then the rest of the restaurant is just.. a mess. The door dash pickup area make no sense to me and isn’t inviting whatsoever.

Hikari is a tremendous disappointment and has been consistent with its irregularities the past year. While all the staff members are all nice, this place needs some major work before I will consider returning. On a side note, whatever that sewage smell is needs to go ASAP. I almost turned myself around and put the door when I smelled that.

Omg! Finally an amazing sushi restaurant in frisco. Decent prices and amazing flavor. We got the Julie's pick , jalapeño roll , crispy rice spicy tuna which was my favorite thing we got. I usually dont get dudhi to go but We fid and it was still so so good . We will for sure be back and I'm telling everyone to try this place.

This place basically just robbed my friends and I. After we ordered and ate we got our bills we're beginning to pay and they changed our bills to an upcharge of $20 a ticket after we had already given them our cards and said it was because she forgot to upcharge cause our party was 5 or more. No sign on the door stating this, no fair warning. They are thieves!!! I will not be back

I came here with my family (3 kids) on a Friday evening. We ordered sushi as an appetizer and waited over 20 mins. Our dinner eventually came and we never got the sushi. The hibachi was decent, but tasted a bit like fajitas.The service was slow and we had to ask several times for things like utensils and napkins. I also thought it was weird that the kids cups were written on with sharpie marker half washed off. Despite the bad service, we were charged 20% gratuity for having a regular sized party of 5. It was an interesting place, but we won't return.

FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!! on the menu there is a lunch roll special advertised at $12.75 Mon-Sun 11am-3pm but when you get to the restaurant they tell you the roll special is only during the weekdays. No where on the menu in person or online specifies that it is only during the weekdays. In fact, it specifically advertises Mon-Sun. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was dead empty minus another couple who fell for the same false advertisement. The server was nice and the food was ok. Do not recommend coming here.

Cool environment and solid location. Service was pretty good they were very kind. That being said, the food could be better. Now granted, I’ve only been here the one time and it could have just been an off day or a new cook in the back. Keep in mind, there are many good reviews about the food. This is just my 1 time experience and I will be back to try it again someday.
My sushi roll, was poorly made, not on purpose, but by an inexperienced sushi chef. Sushi is an art, and experience does play a factor in it. I’m good to form my review on it in the form of advice rather than in the form of criticism. As the owner of a sushi restaurant myself, I can share that: all raw fish in sushi should be served cold as it tastes and is more fresh. This also means that the sushi must be prepared quickly and efficiently. The proper amount of rice must be used to form a nice and tight layer around the outside, and the proper amount of pressure used while rolling it. This prevents the “looseness” of the roll that I recieved. It also helps with the next step, the cut. In this case, more rice and even pressure. Your sushi knife must be sharper than razor sharp. It should glide through the sushi like a knife through water, making quick cuts. This prevents the looseness of the top layer and gives it that nice tightness on its top and bottom, which actually does affect how the sushi tastes a great deal.
Now for the ramen. They were good but bland, and a lot more flavor could and should be added. I tried to ask for salt and hot sauce but the staff member gave me salt and tajin, which I can’t fault them for as they could have been new and I think they may have been. I know what it’s like to be new at a workplace and doing your best to figure things out and I’m not going to take any stars away for it. I’ll come back again, and hope to add more stars in the future! When I do, feel free to reach out to me. I’m new to the area but I’m more than happy to make a few rolls with your sushi chefs and give them any knowledge I have. Good luck guys!

UPDATE: Even better the second time. They may have replaced the all you can eat menu with a short a la carte list that you can use to put together a fixed price lunch. Decent options and I ordered it plus a couple of a la carte nigiri.

First timers here, the sushi was very POOR. The hot mess, sashimi roll and ninja roll were not fresh, sashimi and hot mess were very fishy tatsing and smelling. The tuna is minced which typically means its not real. These rollzar3 $17-$18 each so it not being real is a huge no go for me. Not what any After informing the server of the issue the result was, "ok". No apology no manager coming to the table. The servers are kind the bathrooms smell stinky and the parking was fair. Definitely confused how this place is a solid 4.2 in over 750 reviews. It's by the FC field so I'm sure it's the drunks giving drunk reviews.

Im pretty sure we just ordered the wrong things as ive had other things and it was delicious., this time however i ordered veggie ramen while mom ordered beef ramen with udon noodles (she subbed the noodles) and a black dragon roll. The roll was delicious (as was my previous take out rolls from another time). It was completely fresh, and i wish i ordered more rolls. But the ramen was .. strange? There was not much beef in the beef ramen. They didn't taste bad, they just weren't what we were expecting. especially from the picture in the menu. The pic looked like tonkatsu style, but what we got was maybe supposed to be miso style but very bland and kind of like very watered down 된장찌개 (doenjang jjigae) broth; which is why i mentioned maybe we ordered the wrong thing. There were also several Korean style dishes on the menu, and i definitely would love to try those next time. I THINK this may be a Korean owned business, and if true usually, that means if there is Korean food on the menu, even if it isn't a Korean restaurant, BUY IT. At least try it. The sushi rolls, however, are also delicious, and the 2 deals (2 appetizers and 2 rolls or 3 rolls for take out) are really good.

I ordered Door Dash so this review is on DELIVERED FOOD ONLY. I ordered the pork gyoza, unagi roll, shrimp tempura roll & salmon belly sushi. The pork gyoza & unagi Roll were both good but the unagi Roll had a little too much Cucumber in it for my preference. The shrimp Tempura Roll was way to large for my preference. It took 3 bites just to eat one piece and became very messy. The salmon belly had good flavor but it was cut a little thicker than what I've had at other places. I prefer it thinner sliced.

If I could give less than one star for service I would. The worse we’ve had in a couple years. Visited this place last light. Husband and I really really needed a place w good service, atmosphere, and food, from a very hard week. Our server, “Kim”, was so hard to deal with.she forgot our kids food, we saw another person remind her. We asked 3x for siracha and we got little teaspoons of it. No wasabi or ginger w our sushi. Everything we asked for was thrown down on our table w an attitude for asking. We felt like we were in her way. Then she charged us gratuity bc we have 4 little children (9,6,3,&1), all ate earlier before we came and only ordered one dish to share bc they weren’t hungry. We never really saw her during our meal, but she rushed us to pay. My husband said we’re not ready come back in a minute, and she said “No.”We looked at each and asked her why she thinks we have to pay this demanded tip, she said there are 4kids and 2adults we charge gratuity. Very rude, appeared very unkept. Very disappointed as the atmosphere and food was okay, but the service seemed to have ruined a good meal and only frustrated us more than we needed. We’ll never come back. I would recommend to anyone, go the extra block up the street to somewhere else.
Best Thai is around the corner, better atmosphere and service by far. We should have turned around like we had planned.

This place has amazing deals for lunch (11-3pm, $12.75 two appetizers and two rolls). The food it’s very tasty and fresh! It took a bit for them to get it out though, guessing it’s because of lunch time. The place it self is very conveniently located, and has both tables and booth seating. Very charming decor, and enjoyable vibe.

My husband and I went for a late night date night. I was really in the mood for sushi. So he found this really cute place called Hikari sushi and grill. Loved the decor. I ordered the Russian roll that had a crab stick, spicy tuna, avocado with super white tuna, black tobiko and ponsu sauce on top, it was $15. My husband ordered the combo hibachi, $22 he chose the beef and chicken for his protein. It came with a side of fried rice, very yummy and zucchini, broccoli, onions and orange and green bell peppers served on an oval cast iron skillet, very hot! (Note: stick your fork in your water before you eat with it. I burned my lips on it because the heat from the cast iron skillet was transferred to the fork) they served it with two dipping sauces, one tasted like a ginger sauce and the other also had a slight ginger taste but it was creamy also very good but I liked the brown ginger one best. My husband also ordered a California roll. It was all so good. I noticed on the table there was a dessert menu that had a tempura cheesecake just $7. What! You know I had to try that. And I am so glad I did. It was de-li-scious! Two of my favorite things married together, served with whipped cream on top and a cherry! Couldn't be better. You gotta try this place. You will not regret it. We walked out with a ticket of around $61 with only one drink.

Green tea is delicious. Appetizer we had, monkey brain, was superb.

The only thing is... Be ready to dish out some dough! It's definitely not cheap.

Great place for tasty sushi and rice before going to the game. Even a couple of hours before the game, the service was good and quick. Only issue being that some of the rolls could have been sliced thinner for ease of bite. Several of mine were the width of two or three rolls.

Ordered for pickup. Person working the counter went out of her way to intentionally avoid making eye contact or acknowledging me. She proceeded to help multiple people behind me. I was only able to get my food when someone else walked over who asked if I had been helped. My food was sitting on the counter the whole time. The food was good but not good enough to come back and be blatantly disrespected for no reason.

I ordered miso soup and the DBS sushi roll. Bad choice of location to eat at unfortunately. I went to go wash my hands in the ladies’ bathroom. It smelled so bad I almost threw up. Not like anyone had gone in there before me but it was coming from the bathroom like the sewage or something. I got my miso soup quickly, it was good, the waitress was sweet. It took around 30 mins for my roll to arrive. It was not worth it. Not the place to go if you want any genuine sushi, though the pictures online look deceiving. The pickled ginger tasted moldy (I know because I left my pickled ginger in the fridge for too long once). The wasabi was not peppery at all. First and last time here :(

Please heed my warning, I'm no food expert but I have ate a lot of different types of food and a lot ramen and I can tell you this place is horrible and your better off going to the sushi counter at sam's

Definitely the worst ramen I have ever had, I would say eat but I couldn't bring my self to eat more then than a few bites the broth looked like dirty sink water, the broccoli taste strangely like fish even tho I got beef. I'm pretty certain the "ramen noodles" are just spaghetti noodles really bad taste and texture. Why would you put sliced white onions in the ramen and broccoli, it was more like some terrible take on pho instead of ramen
The tuna inside the spicy tuna roll taste freezer burnt some how
The takoyaki was overcook to the point that it tasted more like a hush puppy

To top it off the it was way over priced and the service was not great, the younger waitress was nice but that's about all I can say about the place

The only reason I took the toxic noodles home is the throw them away later since went with my sister-in-law and didn't want to be disrespectful

Server was extremely rude, never coming back again. She removed the menu from a friend on my table while he was still looking and was extremely annoyed by the questions I made about the menu.

My sushmi roll and ikura were very fresh and tasty. Just something to note, most places that offer specialty rool do them in 8 pieces. The sushmi roll was only six. There is no hard and fast rule, of course. It just means you may need to order an extra roll. The service was friendly, but a tad slow. However, it was in the middle of the lunch rush, so it wasn't a complete surprise. Overall, it's a great place to check out.

Small cozy sushi joint. If you want some of the best sushi in Frisco, or North Texas, give them a try. Rolls are amazing. Presentation is some of the best around.

I just ordered the sunrise roll and I am beyond impressed. Soooo good! I ordered through Uber eats and I love how they gave me 4 different sauces to choose from and not just soy. 100% recommend

We've dined here several times, food is good but service not so much. The first two times they rushed us to order and check out and today it took forever for the waitress to come, then to come back. She had very little personality and almost felt like we were bothering her. The chef had to keep flagging her down to help us. Maybe next time will be better?...

One of our favorite sushi spots! The Alaskan roll and Ex boyfriend roll are so good! And each Roll is big and filling. Also the chicken Hibachi/Steak Hibachi are the bomb.

There’s a waitress by the name of “Yun” who is mean and nasty. She practically throws the food at you, and I had it today. I asked her if she was the owner because I wanted to complain about the customer service. SHE SAID SHE WAS THE OWNER! I later confirmed she wasn’t. Today was the last day I spend my money here.

This is the home of the best spicy pork bulgogi I’ve found so far in my seven years in DFW. Consistency issues with vegetables in the dish (mushrooms, really?) keep it from being a five-star.

Great spread of sushi, parking can be difficult sometimes. Staff is very kind and great at remembering orders. Don't forget to reserve a back room for birthday party, the deep fried cheesecake is fantastic.

I had mistakenly placed a takeout order through this location (meant to order through Philadelphia's Hikari Sushi Restaurant). After placing the order, I immediately called the restaurant to cancel the order. The woman that had answered the phone had told me that there was no order in the system, despite me providing said order # based on an email confirmation. She had told me not to worry about it. I had called again two days later, spoke to another woman, and she had said that she would check with her manager and get back to me. The restaurant did not reach back out. A week and a half later, I called again, this time speaking to the manager. He had informed me that he was unable to process a credit memo or refund for my order and had stated that he was working the evening my order was placed and that there was no call placed to cancel the order. Call records available to provide and all, I am now fighting the transaction through my credit card company with no support from the restaurant. $53 isn't the end of the world, but it's the principal. I'm sure the food is excellent, I won't comment on this. However, clearly there are communication issues internally at the restaurant, and I am paying the price for it.

Hikari has been our go-to sushi place for years but tonight's food was both awful and had spoiled fish. And they provide no contact info so I'm writing this review. I hope it gets their attention.

The fish in our favorite sushi burrito was spoiled. And on taking just a single bite it tasted like bleach - which is sometimes used to mask the smell of ammonia given out by spoiled fish. Plus, the texture was granular. VERY disappointed that y'all chose this route of playing with food safety and the health of your customers.

The Caribbean Roll and Fantasy roll were both missing one type of fish and either avocado or mango. And both wrapped so loosely and sloppy that we couldn't eat either. The ponzu sauce tasted heavily like fish sauce today

Why have y'all dropped the ball, on a Friday night, no less, ruined our dinner and given us upset tummies having paid $108? Making the types of "sushi rolls" we all like here is not complicated...no one is asking for sushi from one of the holes in the wall that were at Tsukiji!

GOOOOD food! Large portions. The staff is nice and the place is clean. My husband and I came here for dinner for the first time and didn’t know what to expect. We were not disappointed. The fish is fresh. We got Poke, Chirashi and could not believe how flavorful and fresh it was.

Food was good. The noodles were delicious. The jalapeños rolls could of been spicier and the squid less chewy.

The service could of been better but it got a little busy - think they may have been understaff a bit. Though wish she could of been more attentive.

The play area for the kids was a big plus. Kept our little ones happy as we waited for the food.

Very low quality of food, I realized I get a stomach ache every time I eat here not sure if it’s the tap water or food; however, every single time I ate here I got a stomach ache. I didn’t connect the dots at first but yesterday I didn’t eat anything other than this and I got sick to my stomach.

I was just there a party of 10 the food is good but the waiter had a nasty attitude she didn't finish attending us.she sent a white girl to finish the order.also make sure u ask questions of what u are ordering my daughter ordered food and was asking the waiter and since she had a nasty attitude she gave her a beef udon soup when I told her that's not what she meant to get she said I still have to charge u for this.i would suggest to look at pictures online of the food and also to go since the service sucks. Oooo the best part bad service and I still got charged 20% tip.

Ordered the yakisoba and the eggrolls for delivery. The yakisoba was greasy and it came as very soggy and in leaky packaging. Wasn't particularly tasty either as the meat was terribly seasoned and the noodles were mediocre. Chicken eggrolls were decent and had a good crunch to them. I'm sure that they have other items that they are known for but I would not recommend this place based on what I ate.

Placed an order through doordash. Had fried rice, omakase sashimi and some specialty rolls. Fishes were fresh and my kids loved the fried rice. And they packed everything with care! Will definitely order again!

WORST RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Service was absolutely terrible, and staff was rude and very unprofessional during my dinner. I ordered dumplings and eggrolls, and they were ice cold like they just came out the freezer. In addition to that, my sushi order took way too long. I think this establishment needs better management and nicer staff because this is absolutely ridiculous.

Food is alright. Not amazing not awful. What needs help is service. 4 different waitresses helped us, none of them communicating with one another. Ordered one entree and 2 rolls. I had to remind them about the rolls, it took about 40 minutes to bring them out. Likely won't return and to go out of your way to come here would be unthinkable. Avoid.

Caribbean roll is delicious but be careful with pickup orders, they up charge you without notice and it’s at their discretion. Wish they would contact customer prior.
