Cozy family-friendly restaurant that serves ramen, sushi, bento boxes, wok dishes, Vietnamese Pho, boba teas and more!
First time here with my lady, we were craving ramen and in the area and decided on this place due to their reviews and menu.
The miso spice level two is fantastic with pork. Very tasty, and the spice is just right, taste like homemade noodles(hopefully)
Also got the beef fried rice which was very good and a nice portion. Added some chili oil and made it even better. To start off this party though we had the Crab Rangoons and those suckers were big! Very tasty as well, perfectly crunchy and crab mix was done right. Although the only thing I did not enjoy was the sweet chili that came with the crab Rangoon as it was very heavy on vinegar. But aside from that, everything was tip top and we are definitely coming back. Perfect spot to stop by for a quick and affordable bite. Service was great and fast, and our waitress was very friendly.

The only issue we had was that when we went to take out our food, we got home and it was missing a $14 plate. Had to drive back to get it. But that wasn't too bad, they readily admitted to the error and quickly made the food.
The food is fresh, and tasty. My ramen broth was very rich and deep, and at level 2 spice, just hot enough for me. I ordered the kimchi ramen, and it was terrific.
Daughter had a tower and calamari for appetizer. She had the coffee milk tea and enjoyed that.
To go we ordered Miso Soup, Ginger Salad, Yellowtail Sashimi (which was forgotten) and a Spider Roll.
All told it came to $90 with tip. A little pricey, maybe, but there were three very satisfied diners. If you're there for, say, an appetiser and a ramen you'd be out for less than $25 easy.

*Long review because I want to be fair and accurate.*
I’ve come here twice now, the first time the food was great, and I was really excited to come back.
We got the Tonkotsu ramen, takoyaki, gyoza (fried), and shrimp and veggie tempura then finished with mochi ice cream. Service was okay, but the food was all really tasty so we planned on coming back.
This time, we ordered the chicken Katsu ramen (with some add-ons), spicy salmon roll, gyoza (steamed) and the shrimp and veggie tempura. The rest of the food came out really tasty, but this time the tempura was very undercooked.
Keep in mind, I’ve gotten this before and enjoyed it, I know what to expect when getting it from here.
This time veggies were fully raw inside, and the batter was still wet. I tried to eat it anyway, but after eating one fully raw and battered sweet potato, and biting into another raw sweet potato, I gave up and cut into the broccoli, which was also raw inside, and the batter wasn’t fully cooked so it was still wet inside. I let my waitress know and she offered to get me a new plate, but only came back with one piece of broccoli and one sweet potato, even though I gave her the rest of the uncooked veggies.
(The two replacement veggies did come out perfect, perfectly crunchy but not raw, and the batter was fully cooked. But I was disappointed that I was shorted on the zucchini and the other sweet potato)
While waiting on new veggies I cut into the shrimp to see if it was cooked, and it was still semi translucent. I let my waitress know the shrimp was also undercooked and she said she’d talk to the kitchen. She came back and told me that “that’s just how they come” and that she could take them off for me.
“How they come” is undercooked?
I asked if they could just remake them because they’re undercooked, I got them last time and they weren’t undercooked. Serving half-raw shrimp is not really any restaurant’s standard? She ended up coming back around with a new batch of shrimp, that was still undercooked (pic attached).
I’m wondering if maybe the kitchen used shrimp that wasn’t fully thawed and that’s why it came out undercooked both times? I find this experience disappointing, I wasn’t trying to get free food. I gave back the practically untouched appetizer because it was raw. Instead of just remaking it the kitchen pushed back. I paid for undercooked and uneaten shrimp because I didn’t want to argue with them over it anymore. Fully cooked shrimp is not semi translucent. It is not “just how we do it”. And I shouldn’t have to argue back and forth to get it corrected.
Unsure if i will be returning, I really enjoyed the food so far, but the management/kitchen’s decision to be cheap and argue over it rather than just fix it is really disappointing.
I’d like to note, this is not the waitress’s fault, I’ve worked in kitchens where the managers are cheap and will do everything to not have to remake or comp an item. So I understand that she probably did what she could.

Delicious. This is going to be a new favorite and regular stop for us.
Sushi was soft and fresh. Cucumber mango salad was perfect. Thai tea made perfect, not watered down. Bento box was perfect for getting a little of everything and more food than I expected. Miso soup, so much flavor.

Came in for the first time and it was very slow. Only two tables at a time.. i sat at the bar and was greeted nicely. The service its okay… Ordered different appetizers that I’ve been ordering in different places and this place has surprised me the most. LOVED all of them. The calamari is not too crunchy and not chewy like in other places, and the sauce that comes with it is perfect for it. The crab rangoons are so flavorful, its not just plain cream cheese and crab like in other places either. The first bite was an explosion of flavor. I loved it. The shrimp tempura was nice and crunchy And the takoyaki was crunchy outside(which i loved) instead of soft also very flavorful in the inside. Lastly i tried the cherry blossom roll, and the size is very nice and well prepared. Everything here was such a great experience when it came to flavors. DEFINITELY recommend. Will come back, and is definitely one of my favorite places from now on!

At first driving up to this establishment you don't really think much of it, maybe a small hole in the wall place but upon entering the doors, the whole dining room kitchen is exposed and it it tranquil as far as the atmosphere and the waitstaff helped me get my order together. I got the seafood ramen noodle soup and also a side of crab Rangoons (5 per). I paid $22 dollars. So I noticed I paid $22 dollars when leaving and I was found asking my self "what the heck did I just order!?" I had received a quart container of soup and 2 other small boxes. One small box of ramen noodles and the crab rangoons in the other. As I bite into the crab Rangoon I notice it has something extra inside, as I investigate I notice it's actual crab meat in the crab Rangoon not just cream cheese. They also came with a side of spicy ginger sauce and it paired with the rangoons perfectly. The ramen noodles I mixed up into my soup and mixed it up. The food was so delicious and HOT! I got plenty of seafood in my soup and in every single bite. Not joking! Fresh big shrimp, mussels, small shrimp, octopus, calamari and a bunch of veggies. It was light but it certainly left me too full. I was not disappointed I will return to try other things out.

I have been here several times for lunch ad it was amazing...came for dinner one evening and it was a total 180.😒 The appetizer menu showed 3 shrimp w vegetables...we were served 2 and when I asked, I was told the menu is not correct. OK, then why are you using it? I ordered the Orange Chicken Bento Box...when I ordered this in the past, it was the BEST orange chicken I have ever had. Dinner? 🤢🤮 No, it was the WORST. The chicken was hard like it had been sitting in a warmer since breakfast. My son ordered ramen...he had projectile diarrhea that evening. The soup smelled like it was made with dirty dishwater. I don't know what happened to this place...it used to be my go to for orange chicken, but I will not be returning. Did they change cooks? Because whoever it is, sucks at it. Thoroughly 😞.

We Ordered the avocado bombs, rainbow rolls, beef & broccoli, and the tonkatsu ramens. Everything tasted amazing, I’d say it’s the best ramen I’ve had in the Dallas area.
Staff is friendly and helpful, food was served quickly and it was very well made! We really enjoyed the outing here and will definitely be coming back. Would recommend the Black tonkatsu ramen if you plan on coming.

A quick after church adventure. I've ordered this place on DoorDash multiple times so I figured we could visit.
Wasn't disappointed, I got the porkbelly Ramen, 3 spicy. Solid.
Wife got the salmon tower, solid.
Wife's best friend got the Steak Bento Box. (More food than you think it would be. Leftovers engaged.)
Other friend got a sushi roll and loved it.
Started with Fried Gyoza and edemame.
Everything was great, tasty, and lived up to and exceeded expectations.
Ate too fast to remember ot take pictures.
We'll be back again and I'll update my review 😊

Not an Izakaya so they should change to name and not be deceptive. Izakaya is like a Japanese pub. This is not. Ramen was meh. Too salty. Overcooked meat. Broth was weak. They seemed to want to cater mostly to pick up orders. Service was very slow.

I ordered takeout. I forgot I had ordered from here before and didnt like it. I ordered the miso ramen. It was fairly bland. Even added chili paste to it, did not add any flavor. Maybe the sushi and other ramen are better. But the miso compared to other ramen places was just terrible.

Run down and very cheap looks on the inside, and while I would love to say that the food saves the place... I cannot. I went with a large group, and apparently drew the short straw because I was not brought any food at all. It was bad enough that by the time we were finally able to flag someone down, everyone else at the table had finished. No apology, no offer of anything, just a nod and then off to help the rest of the table. So would heavily not recommend.

This place is a hole in the wall type of place, nothing pretentious and no frills to the atmosphere and they don't need it because the food speaks for itself.
I got the black garlic tonkatsu ramen and the steamed buns. I would go back *just* for the steamed buns. They were unbelievably fluffy pillows and the crisp pork belly was cooked perfectly with a wonderful sauce.
The ramen bone broth was flavorful and so rich with a generous portion of vegetables and sesame seeds. The bamboo shoots tasted fresh, not canned, and had a delightful nutty flavor. Only downside was that the pork was extremely fatty which would be fine if it was crisp, but it was soft and flavorless.
My friend got the eel rolls and they were perfectly balanced with an excellent sauce.
Service and staff was perfect and I would recommend this place to anybody who loves sushi and ramen. Can't wait to go back and try the bento boxes!

It's been about 2 weeks since we made our first trek to this place. We wanted to give it a whirl due to the fairly good reviews. Formerly known as Zizi's. The exterior is not really visible at night. Interior fairly basic, walls were painted purple with a smattering of anime themed wall scrolls/posters. For a small space it feels really open.
Service was a bit underwhelming and the hostess/waitress was not versed in the food she was selling. She constantly had to go to the back to ask if they had a requested item and about prices. I will discuss more of this in the food section, but overall just getting a drink refill took too long with a bit of snarkiness. To be clear, we only had 1 refill. After we received our food, she vanished until the end of the meal.
The food - we only ordered ramen, 1 Tonkotsu and 1 Chicken Katsu. The Katsu was brought out on a small plate drizzled with "Katsu" sauce and garnished with green onion. This is to keep the breading crispy, until you're ready to add it in the ramen. Portion of chicken was super thin and size was similar to a pattie on a small sandwich, tasted pleasant. Also ordered to it was the garlic oil, chili oil, kimchi, and kaedama(extra noodle). The bowl stock comes with corn, the meat you choose, noodles, boiled egg, and bamboo. The boiled egg was served hard, opposed to the standard for ramen which is yolk runny. The bamboo had a horrible sulfurous preserved flavor, and was still cold from a can. Very off putting both flavor and texture wise. Perhaps they might consider at least rinsing the bamboo in the future, if not par boiling it. Overall with the additions I ordered, the flavor was edible. The Tonkotsu was served the same way stock, but opted to substitute the corn for bokchoy. Was still charged for "substitution" as though it was an extra topping. The broth was the biggest let down. I couldn't believe in any way that this was being called bone broth, and hardly that there was chicken in it at all. Tonkotsu broth is supposed to be savory, creamy, and rich. What we got was watery, saltless, and devoid of any flavor. We then had to ask one of the cooks; who was the only personnel in sight; for soy sauce and chili/garlic oil to make it taste remotely appealing. The chashu pork was actually quite good, 4 square shaped cuts which were a decent thickness. The bowl size was also quite large and though we both ordered extra noodles, I would have done well without them. The ratio of noodle to broth was also appropriate.
Theres potential here, but some things need to be worked out. They do not offer benishoga(salty pickled red ginger) or Togarashi/ichimi powder(red pepper/sesame seed multi spice), 2 very common staples of ramen. We asked, and were given puzzling looks. Not sure if this was due to the waitresses lack of knowledge or the restaurant itself not stocking them. Prices online also need to be updated to reflect instore costs. They charge twice the price for nigiri as Kura, at time of visit was 2 pieces for $6.50.

We happened into this place and glad we did. Everything was tasty. We had ramen and appetizers also rice dish. The spicy jalapeño chicken was to die for. Am be it a small serving size for the price. Most other Asian restaurants in the area offer much more for the cost. This being said it was very vet good. The steamed buns weren't my favorite but the dumplings were nice. Ramen was a treat. I like that you can pick your soccer level here and be careful, they dont play here. All in all a good experience. I will go back.

The food was fantastic, I'll be a regular customer.
The place is not fancy from the outside nor the inside. It's a calm place.
Their strong point is definitely the wonderful food they make. They make you feel special because the food looks like it's from a cooking magazine and the flavors are fresh and delicious and balanced.
I really liked that you can call the server by hitting a button (each table has an individual button), so the waiter doesn't bother you while you're eating your meal like at other places.

We gave Zizi a second chance after the new owners took over and we are so glad we did! We ordered the spring rolls (comes with 3), salad with ginger dressing (great ginger flavor), Tonkotsu ramen (ordered it #1 spicy which had my eyes watering, I would recommend no spicy if you're sensitive) and shrimp pho (the broth needed to be warmed up but it had the best flavor I've ever tasted). We are so happy to have found a pho and ramen spot right around the corner and will be ordering from them frequently. If you haven't, absolutely give them a try!

It was hard to find a clean table when we walked in last night, the floors felt dirty, service was glacial. My $4.50 Vietnamese iced coffee, when it finally arrived, was served in a 12 ounce plastic cup. We had been sitting there for almost a full hour before our two bowls of ramen were served (it was obvious to-go orders were the priority as we watched the delivery drivers come and go). I ordered the black tonkotsu ramen, medium spicy; noodles were okay but spaghetti-like, and all I could taste was chili sauce. My son ordered the vegetarian ramen, and the broth had been boiled so heavily (industrial microwave??) that the bowl was still steaming after 15 minutes; we ended up taking it to go.

The food here is quite good. I had the combination beef Pho Noodle plate and it was satisfying. It was my first time here and I think it's safe to say that this restaurant has some of the best Ramen noodle dishes in town. I was impressed and definitely will be back here to try more of their menu.

I feel nauseous after eating their sushi. The salmon roll was smothered in warm mayonnaise and the spicy tuna roll was a nearly tasteless mound of red mush that only left a mildly burning aftertaste. It took over 30 minutes for an order of two of their "beginner" rolls. I liked their ramen years ago but this was a terrible experience tonight. It's changed a lot and it's lit like a DMV. The people behind the counter seemed to be struggling.

I ordered lunch for my guys at Eliteautowerks the food was great the customer service was spot on they were nice enough to label each ones lunch choices definitely would recommend this restaurant. Also had to call back for receipt they sent the text right away with the receipt.

This place is one of my favorites for ramen and sushi. Staff is friendly too.

This place served a fantastic meal today! We came for the combo they advertised where you buy 2 Phó and get an order of chicken wings for free and they were definitely the star of the show. The ramen options at this place are pretty great too. They also offer Bento box meals with a variety of fried items. Nonetheless we really enjoyed every item we ordered today.

Well based on my personal experience, I did not find anything wrong with my dine in. My server was courteous. As for meal, I ordered Chicken Fried Rice. Being a Rice connoisseur, I would know what to expect. The meal was both organized, and delivered in a timely manner.. The Rice was to my liking, with one exception; For the price, the portion was much to small.. I can’t fault the Restaurants economic status. What I can and will do, is compare my findings with other Restaurants. That will determine weather or not this Restaurant gets a second chance.. So with all that has been said, I would not rate my experience with this Restaurant, below a 4 ⭐️

This restaurant does well with it's own style of presentation. Everything tasted good, but it did catch me a little off guard since I was expecting a more traditional Japanese style sushi. I went for the Crazy Dallas which doesn't have rice, another roll that I forgot the name of and two orders of shrimp tempura.
Service here is really convenient cause you just press a buttpn to call for a server. I also tried their ramen on a separate occasion and it was also really good!

The ramen was so flavorful! We tried the tonkotsu ramen level 2 spicy. No regrets! The black dragon roll was delicious as well. The server was nice and polite. Will come back!

After waiting 45 minutes for my fried rice, I asked again if it was going to be ready soon only to be told they were now out of fried rice… I hate leaving bad reviews but it is unacceptable to have a customer waiting for that long and not advice them that they no longer have something they ordered (the only thing I ordered as my siblings got something else). Also, as my sisters where checking out, they tried charging me for the fried rice I never received!
I have been visiting this place for two years now but after they have switched owners the food is no longer good. The ramen does not taste the same, noddles too soft. The sushi is cut too thick to enjoy the bite. The oil also needs to be changed as the vegetable tempura was not enjoyable with the burnt oil aftertaste it gave.
I tried giving the new owners another chance but it does not seam to be worth it.

I'm a foodie person and I like to try food at different areas, giving a chance to new restaurants and some that are hidden. I would say about the food from 1 to 5 I'm giving them at 3.5, it can be 4 but It needs something in the soup. We had sweet tea and bubba thai tea, good 👍🏻 . The staff is friendly.

We came in for dine-in and after waiting 15 minutes for drinks we waited another half hour as they proceeded to fill take out orders right in front of us for people who came in and ordered after us. I am not sure why it was this way but watching people come in, place orders, and receive food multiple times before us after being seated and ordering made me feel like our business did not matter. The food was fine but I will not be coming back

Update been coming here for years since the original owner. My favorite place to go to enjoy some ramen & spend time with friends or loved ones..quite little place great too have conversations while enjoying a meal. Food takes time to prep so not a place for someone in a hurry due being under staff but worth the wait. Nice lil hidden gem in the north dallas area.

The food was so good and got out to us surprisingly fast! The Boba was excellent too, the ramen was actually just amazing but there was so much that I couldn't finish it all so I felt really bad about that. I also got sushi and the sushi was pretty tasty too.

I’m giving it 5 out 5 because how great the ramen was and how close it’s to Lake Highlands. So I order to go, the fired calamari was not that great on its own. The batter didn’t have any favor and on top of that, it was $7 for how much it was served. However, once you dip it into the sauce, you won’t really taste the batter. Now the ramen, I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen, I think it’s #1. That’s was some tasty ramen. What really sealed the deal was the egg. It had flavor I never had with other ramen places. I can’t really describe, you will have to try it yourself. Also you can choose your spicy level from 1-3, I chose 2. It was good amount of spice. It was spicy, but not to point where I can’t breathe. Overall, it’s a good place to eat with friends and family.

I don’t know about the food because I was close to vomiting when I saw how filthy everything was. Saw into the disaster area serving as their kitchen, holy cow, looked like my teenager’s bedroom. Basically empty at 6:00 on a Thursday. Good rule of thumb: struggling sushi places can’t afford to stock fresh fish. Save yourself a trip to the ER!

Eat at this restaurant once a week for the last year. Food is great and menu covers your sushi, pho, and tempura dishes. Appetizers are very good, and prices for your meals are very reasonable. Recommend Bento Box meals!

🚗 Zizi Ramen & Sushi is in a shopping strip center on Plano Road. It was close to where we attended a 40th Anniversary Reunion concert for 'Acappela' at the Highland Oaks Church of Christ on Walnut Hill Ln. So it IS conveniently located.
🙏🏽 The owner who multi-tasked as host, wait staff, and cook was extremely courteous and personable.
⿵ Outside and in • It appears like a 'hole-in-the-wall' restaurant, yet clean and orderly. While we waited for then ate our food, there were no other dine-in customers and by the time we left, only two take out customers came in to pick up their orders. So not very busy for Saturday at 6:00 pm dinner time.
⛩ My daughter and I both got 🍵 Miso soup, I ordered yellowtail 🍣 Nigril, crunchy roll (sushi) +🥤, and she got 🍱 Orange Chicken Bento. Pretty large portions, so we had a lot of take-home. 2️⃣ meals for ↝ $37.º⁸ + tip.
⌛ Were I to drive 1-½ hours into Dallas again to attend another function at Highland Oaks I might eat at Zizi Ramen & Sushi because I know where it is now, otherwise the meal was unremarkable.
