I had the wagyu roll and the mango ceviche-both delicious. The mango ceviche had more mango than meat but still good. The serving was small. The wagyu sushi was very delicious. We opted for outdoor seating and that enhanced our dinning experience.

Overall RA Sushi was a good experience- the service was pretty good though with some delays and the food was tasty if a bit expensive. When we first arrived we went to the bar for a drink and it took a few minutes for the bartender to even say hello to us- she was making drinks for a server but it would have been nice to get a “hi I’ll be with you in a second”. Then when we were seated it took a while for our server to stop by, in fact the host had to drop off our waters, but once the server did come by he gave great service the rest of the visit.

The food! We got:
-gyoza: great if not unique, a classic pork gyoza steamed and pan fried.
-lobster spring rolls: kind of like a lobster Rangoon but in a spring roll shape- decent but could have had more meat in it.
-nigiri platter: very tasty and well made but nothing different from any other place.
-sashimi platter: this was the star! The fish was delicious but the presentation was so fun and we really enjoyed all the various garnishes and mixing and matching things.
-coconut creme brûlée: tasty and a nice rich but still light dessert to finish up.

I’d come back if someone wanted to meet up here, but if I’m picking a place for sushi night I’ll probably go to Musashino.

Been here multiple times and drinks/ food has been great! If you’re looking to go ask for Julietta, she was awesome! Friendly and attentive , most importantly she made sure to check one us frequently after we got our food to make sure everything was good. Always hate it when I need something when I’m eating and gotta grub without some sauce or sum but she did a great job!

There used to be a Ra Sushi in Chicago (I believe it closed, at the time of writing - 2024), and it used to be one of favorite spots to hang out at the start of a weekend. So I was very excited to see that Austin's is still open. I went during a weekday around 10pm, and I'd say it was at about 10% occupancy. The decor is really nice. The big, red neon light bulbs all over, in addition to their house/lounge music playlist created a very relaxing, semi-upscale ambience. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the food as much. Literally everything except for the soups and salads were overly salty. And to me, that wasn't very pleasant. It's as if the underlying tastes were there, but that at the end, the chef decided to just sprinkle handfuls of salt over everything and stir them. The salt was overbearing to the point that my friends and I could not finish over a half hour plates. I'm not sure if that is a regional change, or if all the remaining Ra Sushi adopted the same. That said, for the ambience, drinks, and atmosphere, I would still say, give it a go if you're in the neighborhood. If you don't mind or like very salty food you will have a blast. Otherwise, keep it to the drinks and sushi

A rooftop sushi bar, say less! My wife and I were in town for a show, and we walked to this restaurant. It was the first cool Texas weekend, and eating outside and seeing downtown amazing! The food was great, music had a good vibe and the staff was super friendly. We will be coming back to RA!

The atmosphere & food was good but the spring rolls were actually eggrolls & weren't good.
The server was incredibly inattentive, & inefficient.
He never brought soy sauce, ginger, or wasabi for the sushi, failed to refill the waters, take empty plates/glasses off the table, & repeatedly walked past the table without checking in.
The other waitstaff noticed his inefficiency & did 50% of his job for him.
I hope someone tells him that repeatedly returing to the kitchen empty handed while empty plates, glasses, & karafes have been stacked on the table for 20 mns. after he said he'd take them away is very noticeable.

Super cool rooftop restaurant. And I could see my car while we ate ha they had cute drinks and the wait staff was super friendly. It was kid friendly but the tables spaced out enough it didn’t feel too loud or crowded. Super fun!

This place needs help. Service is painfully slow, both take-out and dine-in. I've only had lunch here - which you'd think you'd be in and out, but that is not the case.

In addition to service, the cleanliness of this place is questionable. Just look at the sphere lights coming out of the ceiling, and you will see a layer of dust on them. Tables are scratched up and sticky. Overall I'm concerned about what is going on in the kitchen. No need for me to come back.

I thought it would be a good idea to go during the lunch special and was I wrong. Everything was fine in the beginning, but the server we had really ruined the whole meal and experience. I ordered the sashimi lunch special that included a bowl of rice and miso soup. Though we only received our entrees, I assume it was just an oversight. When we asked the server he seemed confused and said "Oh yea, sure. Do you need that?" At first I thought maybe he didn't mean to say it that way and I didn't interpret it in a negative way. Until we only received one miso soup and asked for the other one and again he said, "Sure, Do you need that?" And we said "Yes." He brought it over and then I realized my bowl of rice was also missing so I said, "Can I get my bowl of rice? It states it comes with it, right?" He looked at me and said "Oh yea, Do you need that?" At this point I'm like what is his problem? Yea I need it if it comes with meal - I am not just paying for the entree... I didn't think it could get much more of an annoyance after all that, but I was wrong again. He brings the check and I see that the Sashimi lunch special stated 17 and the check stated 25?? I informed him about it and showed him the menu and with blank stare says, "Oh yea, let me double check in the back.." and walks away like what is there to check in the back when it states there on the menu?? A very frustrating and disrespectful experience to say the least. I thought this would be a good idea because the lunch special prices, but I figured out I will be happier spending my money somewhere with better food quality and professionalism.

Terrible service. Manager is useless, food might be okay but hard to tell because the pace of the meals is so terrible. Best to not sit near the bar area so you don’t have to see your drinks sitting for 25 minutes. Walked up to the bar and Told the manager, pointed at the drinks literally 1 foot aways and asked if we can have them dropped off because it’s been so long and they are getting warm, he ignored it and proceeded to re adjusting tables that are already set instead of helping his servers. Half the tables food came out, then the other half came out 20 minutes later. Would not come back

This is the worst sushi I ever paid for. The chopsticks they gave me were from Benihana. I’m very confused but I stared at the menu for 15 minutes because all of their specialty rolls sounded disgusting and the least disgusting one, the “chili ponzu yellowtail roll” was absolutely horrendous.

After walking downtown for a couple of hours, my sisters, daughters, and I were in the mood for sushi, so we stopped in to try RA Sushi. The place did not disappoint! The atmosphere was beautiful! The sushi was delicious! I'm so glad we stepped in! ANNNNNDDDD THE BEST PART, was the service! Our waitress Jamie was so great! Her customer service skills are first class! We never had to even ask for anything because she was on top of everything! It's been a long time that we have received such outstanding service.

You can never go wrong here. Most people prefer to sit outside since you can see the street activity from there, but even from inside you can get a peak of the patio view. The sushi and drinks will always be a hit. I also feel they have the best happy hour times for those who come in a bit later (after 9pm)

Went to the Austin location for dinner. We arrived at the store 5:30 for our reservation. We were seated after 10ish minutes but took another 20 minutes for a server to come to us and ask for drinks. They told us they had no servers at the moment and were looking for one for our table but many tables were empty and many workers were just standing around. After that it took another while for our food to arrive. Food was okay but wouldn’t say it was exceptional. I ordered the nyc steak for the course meal and it was too salty. Dessert took another 20-30 minutes to come out. We ordered a course meal which was $40 per person for the weekly meal but when we were charged, they charged us the original price not the discounted price and had to figure that out too. There were only a few choices for the tip so the server ended up taking the full 18%. Overall experience is not too great, we arrived 5:30 but ended up leaving 7:30 because the service was too slow.

Went there for a date night. The place is nice with a nice views of downtown. Our server was great he did a great taking care of us. At one point the manager came up to our table to drop off food and we asked for spicy mayo and wasabi but it never made it to the table. As we were leaving we asked the host who the lady with the short hair was, she was a manager apparently, she didn’t really seem hospitable or engaged which left us feeling disappointed.

Worst dining experience of my life.

We had to tell someone we existed after 20mins of being seated, then the girl said "I didn't know you are here". Were there for 2 hours. Took almost that whole time for food to come out (minus the 3 dishes that never turned up so I canceled and got takeaways somewhere else after). The girl who attempted to serve us had to check orders three times and clearly still can't do her job. Took 1 hour and 4 people to get water to table. Staff attitude was like being in a prison camp. The list goes on. In summary, waste of real-estate for a better restaurant.

Only positive, food that did come out, tasted good.

I’ve been to this location in the past and have always had a great experience, today we stopped in for an afternoon cocktail and snack after spotting the all day happy hour sign. Host took forever to greet us… the restaurant was empty, we opted to just sit at the bar. Host seemed annoyed by this. There was no bartender, and the same host came to ask us if we needed anything from behind us and told us there was no happy hour currently. Just a negative interaction altogether— the girl seemed annoyed to have to go up to us at all. We still ended up getting something to drink from the host, that ended up being the bartender as well, I got a glass of rose to go out on the patio with…. It was easily a 4oz pour (a standard wine pour is at least 6oz). $16 later with my “glass” of wine… not a great time! If you don’t want to deal with people, don’t be in a customer facing job. Couldn’t even find the girl for a togo cup for the mocktail we got as well. Definitely disappointed after having such positive experiences before. I’d check out the sushi spot across the street instead.

When we first arrived we went to the bar for a drink and it took a few minutes for the bartender to even say hello to us- she was making drinks for a server but it would have been nice to get a “hi I’ll be with you in a second”. Then when we were seated it took a while for our server to stop by, in fact the host had to drop off our waters, but once the server did come by he gave great service the rest of the visit.

The food! We got:
-gyoza: great if not unique, a classic pork gyoza steamed and pan fried.
-lobster spring rolls: kind of like a lobster Rangoon but in a spring roll shape- decent but could have had more meat in it.
-nigiri platter: very tasty and well made but nothing different from any other place.
-sashimi platter: this was the star! The fish was delicious but the presentation was so fun and we really enjoyed all the various garnishes and mixing and matching things.
-coconut creme brûlée: tasty and a nice rich but still light dessert to finish up.

I’d come back if someone wanted to meet up here, but if I’m picking a place for sushi night I’ll probably go to Musashino.

My wife and I came here on Father's day, since I was wanting some sushi but didn't feel like spending a bunch of money. Their happy hour was a great deal and ended up getting 2 rolls and some gyoza, all were delicious! The main star of our visit though was our awesome server Willie! We had a great time talking to him, he took a nice picture of us and printed\framed and generally had outstanding service. We ordered 2 frozen drinks that he let us know were unfortunately not ready yet, but while we waited for those drinks, the bartender Aliyah came out with substitute drinks that were excellent! I wish we always got the same level of service that Willie and Aliyah provided us! Thanks guys for helping make my father's day awesome!

I used to come here all the time, but i think this might have been the last time. Went there with my family and the food still holds the same food quality from before, so that’s great. Good sushi and sake.
The bad part was the service, our server Cesar was never around. He took so long to bring us a coke we ordered. Ginger and wasabi. We had to get it from a different server multiple times. He was in no way or form putting any effort into it. Really mediocre service and at the end of the night he still took his obligated 20%.
I guess that’s why it was kind if empty last night. I’m dissapointed

Horrible experience. Host had a standoff attitude. Indoor table was disgusting, soy sauce was on the edge of the table staining my girlfriends shirt. Decided to move outside hoping it would be cleaner, it wasn't. Most of the patio wasn't cleaned, host put us directly in the sun during midday, because it was easier then cleaning off a table for two. Resat ourselves a third time, god knows why. Waitress accidently spilled garlic soy sauce on my thigh, no meal comp for my stained pants or girlfriends stained blouse. Absolutely horrible, if you can help it don't go, save your money.

I frequent this place, I have business meetings and I refer people all the time because I live in City Centre. After seeing multiple dogs on the patio, I bought my standard poodle to have dinner with me. I walked him through the patio and he was quiet until the server walked up to the table and he barked. The server went back in and told his manager, Derek, that my dog snapped at him aggressively and I was threatened by him that I’d have to leave as if my dog was threatening patrons and servers repeatedly. He barked ONCE. Maybe I would have been given more respect instead of him rudely mouthing off and threatening me if I looked more like him, idk. I won’t be back.

We went Wednesday night and it was almost empty so we expected to have an amazing service. Despite the fact that we had to claim a couple of times for several missing dishes the food was really yummy!! The toro niguiris are crazy delicious.
Perhaps a little overpriced but I am completely sure I will come back on my next visit to Austin.

RA sushi is genuinely a terrible place. Prices are way too high, service sucked, food was subpar, and the overall atmosphere was not pleasant. When I ordered 2 16oz draft beers for $9 each, the server brought out 2 32oz beers. When I asked how much the beers were she said that they were $18 each and that they were “sold out” of the 16oz draft option. If I hadn’t asked about it I highly doubt our server would’ve informed us. Sever was nice but not knowledgeable whatsoever and seem confused about the items on the menu that we were ordering. Never coming here again and don’t recommend you do either. Waste of $80 I’d rather spend at any other Austin establishment.

Definitely a HORRIBLE service. The waiter can make and break an experience, and in this case completely shot this restaurant!

Husband’s wagyu was burnt, chicken in fried rice had a rubbery texture, BUT sushi was good.

Wouldn’t recommend and would stay away. Other restaurants that are sushi based within walking distance that are FAR more superior than this location.

Atmosphere is lack luster at best, definitely not on par with their pricing, dust everywhere where there is not a customer traffic area.

The service, oh my, what a joke! I’ve had better service at fast food joints. Waiting for drinks, refills, and the check for over 15 minutes each. Then when waiter takes my card for payment, leaves for 10 minutes, then comes back to charge it right in front of me. Can’t express how big of a joke this was at this point.

$78 for A5 wagyu, not a horrible price, but when it comes out charred, and has crust from something that was previously cooked on, that makes the price a joke at that point. If it were honest opinion, I’ve had A1 wagyu that blew this place out of the water.

Kids said they like the sushi, wasn’t a fan myself, but they get a +1 for that in the kids eyes.

Wouldn’t recommend this place, other areas nearby that are far more appealing and better in terms of service and quality of food!

We called Uber before heading to the restaurant. Bella told us to just come because they close at 12 and never mentioned that their last order would be at 11:30. We arrived at 11:20. They were fooling around and took a couple before us outside, but made us wait until 11:28 and then came and said they were closing. The couple before us had arrived maybe 1 minute earlier. Is it because we are Asian? She asked, 'Are you guys ready to order in 2 minutes?' We said yes. Then she said she needed to talk to her manager, and when she came back, she told us they wouldn't let us in

We will never come to this horrible restaurant again.

We always visit here every time we come to Austin, but this will be the last time. Even after I told her I would rate the restaurant poorly, she said, 'Go ahead and do it.' Is this the kind of staff you want representing your restaurant for your 'best' service?

Great option for late night food since covid took out a majority of late night options here in Austin. The hostess staff was noticeably rude to my girlfriend and I on more than one occasion though this didn’t extend luckily to the wait staff. Food was always fresh and our order was correct.

I like the second floor patio overlooking downtown Austin.
The food is not great. I think it can be described best as "good value" nigiri : big ball of rice with fish - I didn't appreciate how big the thing was and ended up swallowing it like a seagull.
Maki rolls are fine but avoid the yellowtail : it looked like my cat's tasty bites in gravy wrapped in rice. Sashimi was served in a bed of exotic cholula and thousand island.
The service was nice just not experienced: kept placing (stacking) food plates onto empty plates on the table.

Complete lack of attention to the customer. The waitress was completely inattentive to our order and it did not all come out at once. Our appetizer never came out. We asked the waitress, the bartender, and the hostess for ginger and Wasabi about 6 times and it finally came out when our food was almost gone. Our sushi took almost an hour to come out. The worst part is they weren't even busy. Guess we know why.
