Recently opened Hibachi and Sushi Restaurant in Franklin, TN. Soft-opening started 2/18/2023. We operate from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Then 5:00 pm to 9:30 pm daily. Home Party hibachi services and entertainment at your home or preferred location is available too!

This place is VERY family friendly. We saw A LOT of families with young kids and another side of restaurant with big booths and a stage with music. Sushi was GREAT! Its been very hard for us to find a place with good sushi and I think we found our spot! Hibachi grill was Excellent! The cook entertained the kids so well! Our beautiful russian waitress was on par with service!!! We will be back. 2nd time visit here! Oh and they surprise the kids with foil character balloons at the end of dinner! Huge plus!

First time coming here and we were so pleasantly surprised. Shogun was a wait so we decided to try out Takumi… and this will be our new go-to. The hibachi cook was outstanding. Super engaged with our kids and they went the extra mile. The food was also a huge step up (our filet was perfect). Cool vibe and they even have a robot to bring you soup and salad. Highly recommend

My new favorite sushi place.
Fish quality is excellent! Rice is done right.
I only eat nigiri, sashimi or rolls. And they are all very good better than some places in Los Angeles.
Gf options available. They can substitute with gf with simple rolls not deep fried or noodles.
Tamari available.
The photo is sushi sashimi combo, we specifically ordered yellowtail and salmon only for nigiri.

Everything about our dining experience was great except for the room that we were in. Apparently there were garage doors behind the curtains which made the room extremely cold. They have a stand up heater in the corner but it didn't help it was still very cold

We had a wonderful dinner there tonight. Our chef was fantastic, providing a wonderful show for us and the kids. He included the kids and everything and did a great job preparing the food. However, it was noticeable that instead of stir frying everything the meat, the chicken, the shrimp, and the vegetables they now I’ve decided to steam the vegetables with a platter over top of them. I am not a fan of this. I came there for a hibachi experience all the food included. Steaming them makes them limp and the salt is added while they’re preparing them so they are pretty bland. When they are prepared on the hibachi, they seem to take care Just the right amount of salting and the vegetables have firmness to them not a limp nothingness. This is not the chef’s fault, someone made the decision that all the vegetables had to be stained. I wasn’t impressed at all. I would at least like the option of stirfry for my vegetables. I hope someone reads this and takes it to heart. I have come there many times with my family, you are closer to me that Shogun, But they do stirfry their vegetables. I haven’t been there in a while. Please consider making it an option of the patron. Thank you.

I visited this restaurant on Monday, 11/18/24, around 12 PM for lunch. The young man at the front desk was very kind and even brought me my drinks, which I appreciated. However, the rest of my experience didn’t quite meet expectations.

The restaurant wasn’t busy, but I sat for about ten minutes without being greeted or offered help with my order. The staff seemed more focused on chatting and laughing with each other than attending to customers.

I eventually decided to leave and found another place with more attentive service. The food I saw looked great, and I hope this feedback helps the team improve the customer experience moving forward.

Food was very good. We paid for the Hibachi grill. One of the reason we go, is for the "show" the chefs put on. No "show" at all. We could have ordered from the restaurant side much cheaper. Plus, I have never been to a full hibachi restaurant where FRIED rice is an upcharge! That is always one of the staples of your meal when ordering hibachi Above the average price, especiallly when you "upgrade" to fried rice. And, as with a lot of companies they do have a cash price and a credit card price.

Best hibachi we have had in a long time!! And the sushi is definitely incredible!!! Place is extremely clean and new, which is a plus, but the food is delicious!! The steaks melted in your mouth and were very well seasoned, the shrimps and chicken were fantastic! The sushi was downright fantastic!! We would not order again the gyoza or spring rolls… but the rest was fantastic!!! Highly recommend!! Service was great too and place looks great!

Food and services was great! KEEP IN MIND that there will be a 4% transaction fee added to your bill if you choose to pay with your card. At least bring cash for tipping. In addition the manager was very rude to my boyfriend and I, He was very rude to other customers while waiting for our food. I can’t imagine how he treats his employees if this is how he treats his customers. To say the least the manager is the reason why we will not be back.

Stage for LIVE music with a massive screen behind it.

Food and drinks- good, but not memorable.

Service-waitress messed up our basic order multiple time and seemed to be unknowledgeable to the menu and couldn’t answer our questions about anything.
I would try again in the future, overall just felt underwhelmed.

This was our first visit to a Hibachi restaurant since moving to Tennessee, and unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet our expectations. As a family who used to frequent Hibachi restaurants regularly, we were excited to finally have Hibachi again, especially after seeing the rave reviews.

Positives: The restaurant was clean and felt spacious, with an anime-themed decor that was interesting, if not entirely to our taste. The salad with ginger-based dressing was fresh and enjoyable, and the soup was so good I had two servings. The vegetables also exceeded our expectations.

Negatives: However, the experience fell short in several areas. We were crammed into a table, which left one of us seated awkwardly behind the chef, disconnected from the usual Hibachi experience. The whole dinner didn’t provide the full Asian ambiance we were hoping for.

Additionally, the menu options were disappointing. The spicy tuna roll was bland and the provided wasabi was so bland I stuffed chunks into the roll to try and get a 'wasabi punch'. Instead of offering fried rice or lo mein noodles as standard, white rice was the default, and we had to pay extra for any substitutions. The noodles provided were thin and resembled ramen more than traditional lo mein, which was a letdown.I ordered the filet steak, requesting it to be cooked medium, but it arrived closer to well-done. The chef seemed distracted with seafood, causing the remaining steak to overcook. Finally, the sauces tasted off; the ginger and yum yum sauces were not what we were accustomed to, with the yum yum sauce even having a strange neon orange glow.

Ultimately, we left feeling disappointed and unfortunately won’t be returning. Yes, going forward, I should definitely check the online menu for better selection expectations. 🫤

Great seafood options. Large beer selection. Great atmosphere. I came solo and ate at the bar but enjoyed watching the hibachi chefs perform in the room next door. Large screen tvs Great for watching a game. They have robots that bring food to people seated at tables. The server grabs the plates and serves and then the robot goes back to the kitchen. If you have young children I bet they would enjoy seeing the robots perform.

Typically the service is good, but this day our server was maybe having a bad day. She came to our table with a bit of an attitude, barely checked on us, and was grabbing bowls and plates while we still had a little bit left. Then she tried to over charge us. When we told her we didn’t order the particular item’s, she took one off. I had to show her my plate twice to prove we did not order what should put on our receipt. She had an attitude doing that. I probably won’t go back for a long time.

Best hibachi and sushi I have had since living in Tennessee, we got hibachi lunch which was a normal portion to us and a New York roll and a pretty lady roll. Billy was our cook and he was so amazing and kind and really made the experience great. Justin was our server and he was very fast and made sure we always had refills and was steady clearing stuff for us. Overall food was a 10 and so fresh and service was on point. Also the salad dressing was good enough to drink and I’d pay for the recipe!

My wife and I just had the most rude experience at this restaurant this evening.

We frequent hibachi grills, but this was the first time we visited this establishment, so I called ahead at about 8:30 to see if we could arrive at 8:45 and seat for hibachi. We were told yes, so we went. We were sat at a grill and there were only 2 other people at the grill when the cook came out.

The portions and most hibachi grills are always large, so my wife and I always share a meal. Tonight was no exception. We ordered (our typical meal),and I shared with the server that we would share the Steak/Chicken/Shrimp meal. He said that would be fine.

When the cook came out, he addressed me (only me), and asked if I wanted Yum Yum sauce.he poured none for my wife. When the rices was served, he gave me a portion, nothing to my wife, and then gave a portion to the other two at the table (there is always a small amount of rice after it's been portioned out, he split the remaining portion between the other 2 guest). I then lifted my plate and scraped a portion of my rice onto my wife's plate. Then when the steak was ready I pointed to my wife's plate, but he just put it on my plate (my wife still sitting there with an empty plate now because she finished the rice). I put some steak on her plate. Then comes the shrimp. Again I pointed to my wife's plate, but again he puts it all on my plate. Once more, I put each piece of shrimp off of my plate onto her plate. I then asked him to poor some yum yum sauce for my wife. The guy had the audacity to put an empty saucer in front of ME and fill it.

This same charade happened with the chicken and the veggies. My amazing and BEAUTIFUL wife, was treated like sh1t by this cook. We have NEVER been treated so poorly at a restaurant.

To be clear, the rude part of the evening was the cook. The server was kind and attentive.

We ate hibachi here recently for a birthday dinner (dined in) The Filet was amazing, some of the best steak I had ever had… we were craving it so bad that we had ordered it online for pick up for dinner this week and the filet was just nasty, I personally don’t think that this cut was a filet… upset since the filet hibachi is 30+$. was really hopeful for a good hibachi restaurant in nashville were we could eat occasionally but also order out when needed. guess i won’t be ordering pick up from here again.

Food is great and we’ve dined there often. All I can say is carefully review your receipt when your card comes back. The initial receipt stated two amounts - one for cash and one for a card. Overall the restaurant is clean and tidy and the food was ok. I ordered the beef Yakisoba which was delicious. My girlfriend's udon soup was bland, had very little meat, and was little more than water and udon soup with a few vegetables. I had a generous helping so i was able to share my dish with her because she was not enjoying hers at all.
The atmosphere would have been jovial and pleasant if I didn't have to listen to 4 children's screaming and horseplay like it was a chucky cheese at the hibachi station on the other side of the wall from where we were sitting. It's a family friendly restaurant, sure, but maybe a little too much so. I hate leaving reviews like this but for more than 50 dollars to feed 2 people you'd expect a little higher quality experience.

Very disappointed in the visit today.
We go to hibatchi type restaurants frequently. This was the first time I felt underserved and over charged. The serving sizes were very small. Especially when they charged you $2 extra dollars for fried rice and you get the amount of MAYBE one serving of another habatchi restaurant. They charged a total of $4 extra because we substituted veggies with extra rice.
Not only did they underserve and overcharge, they now charge a surcharge fee for using credit card, which they don’t inform you at all. Forget refills for your drink as well.
I only gave them a 2 start instead of a 1 star, because the filet is always good. We will be going elsewhere from now on.

We came here when they first open and service was quick and food was tasty and we had been there few more times up until Father's day 2024 which I made a 1 reservation and we all were on time and got seated,our server seem frazzled and they were not busy , they sat 13 of us in the far back hibachi and when I say it was hot it was hot all they had was a small swamp cooler to cool an area the size of 2 car garage, so we put the temp down to the lowest of 66 degrees and we asked if they had portable fans cause it was hot so the server told the manager who came back and put the AC unit to 71 without one word, as we sat some got there drinks others did not and we waited an hour before I went to talk to someone about us waiting they said they had 4 habchi cooks but only 1 was cooking , and our food wasn't that flavorful like it had been in the past and by the time we left we were all hot sweaty... so if you go defiantly do not sit in the back hibachi as it does not have AC and they had portable heat in the ares so probably no heat either... which is so sad cause we liked it the first couple times and had started to go down hill.

My friend recommended this restaurant to me and it’s my first time to visit. The food is fine, but there are two issues that are not acceptable. We ordered a Sushi boat for two. It should have 15 pieces of sashimi, instead, we got 12 pieces and three egg cubes. Talked to the manager, and he said that this was chef’s decision and if we don’t like egg cubes , we should let them know ahead of time. First of all, egg cubes are not sashimi, period! Secondly, how can we know the restaurant will replace sashimi with egg cubes ahead of time? The second issue is the credit card surcharge. This is a very very rare practice for this kind of restaurant. As other reviewer pointed out, I only knew the surcharge after I received bill. This is a violation of law.

My most recent visit here for Mother's Day weekend 2024 was absolutely terrible!!! This business is clearly comfortable engaging in shady, unlawful business practices. While the food was decent (even though the portions are WAY SMALLER than before) the restaurant's handling of credit card surcharges was utterly unacceptable. Takumi blatantly violates both state and federal regulations by FAILING TO DISCLOSE ADDITIONAL FEES APPLIED TO CREDIT CARD TRANSACTIONS.

According to Tennessee law, businesses must clearly disclose any extra charges BEFORE the transaction is completed. This means signs should be posted at the point of sale, and prices on the menu should reflect any such fees. There were no signs or menu notices about the credit card surcharge, which is a clear breach of transparency and consumer rights.

Aside from the legal violations, how can you think you will retain clientele when you are one of the only business merchants who even charges such fees?! The prices are higher than ever, portions smaller, and now you want to pass on the credit card fees charged to merchants on to your customers. UNACCEPTABLE.

Late lunch for 4. We were hungry and ordered a LOT of food. What the waiter lacked in understanding english, he made up for in enthusiasm and hustle. Great service. Sushi was excellent as was negeri. The only thing that was a disappointment was both the shrimp and chicken tempura. The batter for the vegetables was OK, but the protein batter was off putting. No flavor and the texture was more grainy than crunchy. Lastly, the atmosphere was good with some private spaces, but is in dire need of sound dampening. Heavy echos, noise and conversations could be heard from every corner of the restaurant.

There was a half hour wait to seat us, even though we had a reservation. Service during the meal was adequate. As a Teppanyaki restaurant, Takumi is good. The show is the show. What’s really good at Takumi is the sushi. The ingredients are fresh, the rolls have a lot of flavor, are very tasty and the presentation is superb. Want to impress? Try the Fiery Takumi roll. Want a great dinner without a reservation, sit at the sushi bar.

Tony was the best chef I’ve ever had with a hibachi experience. He made the visit absolutely perfect. The food he made was great, he was so personable, and he made the atmosphere perfect. This was the best hibachi experience I’ve ever had. If you ever go to Takumi, ask for Tony specifically.

Review had me excited, but the cook was distracted with waitress behind us and burned our rice. Have to pay for fried rice?? No refills for me. No flavor on steak.
Fancy restaurant with robots bringing food, but the rest wasn’t impressive.
Dinner was last night. We can for anniversary. Chef tall no mask,(orange jacket) waiter was tall, guy with black hair and earring. The other couple at the table wasn’t pleased with their meal either.

We have always went to Shogun once or twice a week but we stumbled upon this restaurant one day while going to a different store and decided to give it a try. So glad that we did! All of our old favorite chefs and waitresses are now working here. The food is a step up. Everything is a step up. We haven't been back to Shogun since we found Takumi.

I have recommended this place so many times, but after the most unprofessional call I got from the manager I will no longer recommend this restaurant or go here.

I have a gluten allergy, and last time I was in the restaurant our waitress was very sweet and extremely accommodating and told me how to order and said my order could be gluten free. Tonight I order the same sushi rolls, noting I need soy paper since that is what I was told to ask for, and adding in the notes that I have a gluten allergy.

When we got home, the sushi did not have soy paper (which was an up charge) and had crunch and clearly gluten allergens in it. We couldn’t go back for them to fix it, but after spending that much money we asked for a refund since it will be thrown out. They said they would not a problem.

10 minutes later I get a call from the manager telling me how one of the rolls couldn’t be gluten free and telling me that I ordered things I couldn’t eat and they would allow this refund this time, but that I had messed up. I told him I ordered the same thing and the waitress I had took care of me and said it could be made gluten free. He laughed and said “how?” To which I responded “I don’t know, I don’t work in your kitchen.” He proceeded to say that they would refund this one time and that it was my fault for ordering what I ordered. Before hanging up I said “yeah, I guess when I put I needed soy paper and wrote I had a gluten free allergy twice, I assumed you would call me if there was an issue or put what I requested and paid extra for down.”

I was bummed out that I didn’t get the sushi I wanted tonight, but after we called and requested a refund for that portion I was happy they made that fix. However, a manager calling me to chastise me was… an interesting choice. If there was an issue with my order, they should’ve called the number to tell me to order something else. Further, I paid extra for something they didn’t have. I shouldn’t be blamed or penalized for a mistake that made my food inedible for me, especially when there were ample notes.

Really disappointed.

Editing to add, the manager kept reiterating that on certain rolls crunch could be taken off, however there is crunch all over the roll despite being notes as gluten free. The kitchen messed up both rolls, it happens. However, I am once again emphasizing that calling a customer after an issue has been resolved (we were told both rolls were being refunded since they were done without soy paper and one had crunch all over it) is extremely inappropriate.

We have been several times and the food is always good. However, we had the pleasure of having Tony tonight as our chef and he really blew us out of the water. Truly amazing service and did SO well with the kids. He even gifted them with little balloon headbands (photo). His cooking was also amazing and we really enjoyed his commentary and hilarity while working. We will request him every time we come!

It was SO good. Amazing atmosphere, it was crowded, but they asked me if I wanted to be on the sushi bar, which I was totally and happily fine with....

Everyone was nice with us, the food was amazing!!! No complain at all and in a great size and quantity.. the way they present the plate is beautiful, I am coming back for sure!.

I ate the pineapple fried rice and sushi.. the rice was OK but the sushi was hard to forget😍

About the price, to be honest really affordable 👌 and delicious so.. 10 stars 🌟 🤩 ✨️ 😍

I work in the restaurant industry myself and I understand it but what I don't understand is being sat on a slow Tuesday night and getting a great from a server 10min after sitting.. This is a relatively typical sushi restaurant. The sushi was good and the environment was nice but the service wasn't phenomenal. Our server didn't seem familiar with menu items, had to come back and clarify several things, etc. It was a fine experience overall but we weren't wildly impressed.

Keep in mind that it's a new spot so maybe they're still working out all the kinks. Either way, we will likely visit again.

Fromnthe moment you step in, you are welcomed. The atmosphere of this place is fun but very serious about good food. We sampled a sake before deciding what we wanted to drink and the service was wonderful. The robots 🤖 are a bit of a surprise but food and presentation is superb! This is the new hang out! With a wicked bar and a massive corner TV I can see ourselves popping in for a roll of amazing sushi and grabbing a drink on Sunday afternoon:)

I was nervous reading some reviews but tonight was perfect at Takumi in Franklin. We made reservations for 9 were promptly seated and explained we were celebrating my daughter’s 15th birthday. So many of the staff engaged with my daughter and her friends and our chef Alex was amazing. Great food, lots of fun and so much laughter!! Shout out also to Kevin, our server who went above and beyond!! They both helped to ensure a great night for my daughter and her friends!! Hibachi is what you make it, if you go full of energy and open for fun this is your place!!

Good food with decent entertainment. We went for hibachi and it's all pretty good hibachi fare. Spicy sauce needs more heat. Biggest problem imo was the lack of seating.... we were really cramed for space and my nephew had to sit on the corner of the hibachi table which was less than ideal.

Ate their last night, had chicken fried rice. The chicken was slimy and jiggly, not recognizable as chicken at all.i don’t know what it was, Couldn’t eat it. Server took it away, said sorry, didn’t offer to get me anything else and didn’t remove the dish from the bill. Wont go there again, there were 8 of us, so the bill was pretty pricey.

We came here for my friends birthday. The hibachi attendant put on an incredible show and we enjoyed the food. However, after leaving a nearly $50 tip, Gina rudely told us to go to the bar because they had "other" reservations. I mean, she waited until after i left the tip. We also had staff members stand behind us and stare as we were still eating. We were there for 35 minutes total from the time we sat down until we felt rushed out. Great food, horrible service.

Be careful when your order. I ordered my sushi rolls from the cooked section because I’m pregnant and one of the rolls they brought me was raw. They said it’s an error on their menu. Waited over 15mins just for them to fry it in tempura. Thank God I’m not a sushi novice and I know what a raw roll looks like. Also thank God this wasn’t a takeout or delivery order with it being wrong. Wasn’t compensated for the inconvenience.

The waiter was very nice though.

Several people mentioned this to us; with mixed reviews. It certainly seemed popular, but it's not for us. It's an assault on the senses. And the food wasn't great. We did not do the hibachi, but people who were doing that seemed to be having a wonderful time. There are definitely some fun aspects, like robots delivering food to the table. Overall, just not up to the standards of our favorite sushi and Thai places.
