The service here is wonderful. Our waiter was the most lovely lady ever. She was sweet and very informative on the menu. There wasn't a single time I saw her not smiling when serving a large table across from us and even me and my fiancé. She was very positive and had a wonderful energy about her.
The food here is in huge portions and tasted amazing. Our stone bowls felt never ending and it was honestly more reasonably priced than any diner I've been to in a long while. The sushi was wonderful, fresh and had an amazing structure (not falling appart). The speed of getting our food was also exceptionally great. Our food was out within 8 minutes, maybe 10, which was super speedy food service. Not even mentioning our sushi and Mocktails where out almost immediately.
They created really great mocktails for us which where delicious and let us try out something very creative on their menu. Mine had little fox ears because it was the tropical fox.
The store was even very beautifully decorated and had such a relaxing atmosphere. 10/10 from the mirrors as you walked in, to the very ventage interior and outside decor.
I honestly would give this place 10 stars if possible because the customer service, speed of service, portion sizes, price, decor, and just everything was just exceptional.

Overall I’d recommend this place but definitely plan to be there for 3 hours or more. We had a reservation at 6 and didnt leave until 9pm. I used to live in Korea and expected the evening to take some time as Korean bbq typically does but it lasted so long because the service, not the cooking of the food.
The service was very spotty. We waited 15 mins to order and then another 40 mins for our food after we ordered. When our server was at our table, she was excellent but we saw her very rarely and there was super long pauses before she’d check in with us again. I will say it was a Saturday night, it was busy, and she told us there were only 2 servers that night every time she did stop by our table. I felt bad for her. If she had more support, I think it would have been a better experience.
I also had to get up to find my own extra set of tongs so both sides of the table could cook their food. We sat for 20 mins without water several times. No shade their way but I do think they need to give their servers more support. They were doing their best but with as much money as we paid for the meal, you’d hope the service would be better. And had the service been better, I think we could have been out in 2 hours.
The food was great so that’s why the 4 stars. Very authentic and great portions. We ordered the gochujang pork belly , LA galbi, and bulgogi beef. The flavor on all were great but I’d only re-order the bulgogi beef. The pork belly was huge, took forever to cook, and was very chewy. We realized the heat wasn’t high enough but the server was no where to found to ask about turning it up. After further exploration of the table, we turned it up ourselves and then the pork belly cooked much faster. Initially it wasn’t getting crispy and it was hard to chew.
Our friends got the spicy chicken, bulgogi chicken, and shrimp. The spicy chicken and bulgogi chicken were great though they didn’t recommend the shrimp because they had to peel it themselves and it wasn’t ideal with the grill situation. All the banchan and appetizers were delicious. I couldn’t get enough of them but couldn’t order more banchan because of service.
I think I’ll go back in hopes that that was a one off night. I’ll updated if I end up going back!

We were looking for an authentic Korean bbq experience for my best friend's 40th birthday. We are Asians that are very picky about authenticity. Tommy was our server, a true Korean gentleman who took excellent care of us. We got makgeolli and baekseju drinks which were excellent along with the premium ayce all you can eat bbq. Amazing experience from start to finish, Tommy was attentive and on point, absolutely a legend. 10/10 recommend, come hungry.

Went for sushi with a couple of friends, got sat pretty quickly. Server Layla was very nice and refilled my water 5 times (I obliterated them every time). Friend proceeded to spill sweet tea everywhere and server immediately got a clean towel and helped. Sushi was very good and I highly recommend going during happy hour, the spicy tuna roll hits harder than the realization that the economy is regressing (would spend money here though) 10/10 will be back again.

We sat at the sushi bar and had an amazing experience. Bartender was chatting with everyone and the Sushi chef had a great personality as well. Sushi rolls were tasty and the green tea cheesecake was on point! We have gone back several times since my original review and honestly they never disappoint. Sushi chef is amazing! The bar tender has a wonderful personality and always remembers us. I added photos of the fried mochi ice cream, a house roll and a custom roll made special for my fiance dubbed the redneck Riviera and the chefs special sushi to heaven!

I was going to give 5 stars but we waited a long time at our table to even get a drink order in and the restaurant was not overly busy... I'm not exactly sure why we were walked past multiple times before someone called our server to our table but we did finally get service and she was a very nice server I just wish she visited our table a little more frequently...
The food is delicious we opted for the BBQ style and had a great time it was perfect for my birthday celebration! I highly recommend the scallops and the pork jowl make sure you cook the jowl till it's crispy it's like bacon without all the salt!
All the sides were delicious! The pickled vegetables were by far my favorite! I wanted more veggies and onions to cook with but apparently you can't request specific vegetables and you just get a little bowl of a random mix...
The shrimp was not a hit with us you have to peel it yourself and it's tedious and some of them are not completely deveined.
The scallops were fantastic I would of loved more options for sauce but I'm happy they came with a little seasoning on them. I wish I asked for some kind of garlic butter it would of been very good that way.
You don't get a straw with your drink and I wish I would of asked for one.
Overall tho this was really a great experience we will definitely come back here again we love all you can eat restaurants and we stayed for almost the full 2 hours!
The happy birthday balloons on the mirrors was an adorable touch we had to take some photos as we left!
I definitely recommend this place!

I dined at this establishment on 1/11 and had to witness a very disturbing altercation that took place between a customer, my server and her coworker, mind you who are both young girls. A situation unfolded between my server and another customer it looked to be like she was being verbally harassed by this woman and followed her through the restaurant trying to maybe get away from her. The other waitress saw and stepped in to defend her coworker and the lady pushed her and got very physical with her and about maybe 8 other people in their group surrounded this poor girl and started beating on her while she was on the ground in the middle of all of them. They literally had this 16 year old girl on the ground kicking and punching her. NO ONE AND I MEAN NOT ONE PERSON HELPED HER. There was no manager in sight to de-escalate the situation. To have a group of grown adults (that had very young kids with them) attack this young girl who did NOTHING was absolutely disgusting and horrible to witness. The owners and management of this restaurant should be ashamed for letting customers treat their staff like that and not do anything about it. Absolutely disgusting.

On 1/11/25 we(11 of us) went to this establishment and it was a horrible experience and I’ll never visit this establishment again. They had to cooks call out and was also short on wait staff and instead of calling to let us know so we could’ve made other arrangements before time they said nothing and we came there to eat my first visit and it was awful. I had to bust my own table go get napkins and plates. My appetizer was cold greasy and burnt. I will never visit this establishment again…also my sister had to go get clean plates for us to put the cooked meat on.

Ok last 2 visits I wasn't happy because they slimmed on the meal and they used to be so good. Well, today, they gave better proportions and the bulgogi was delicious! 5 ok n that. But.. The purple rice was missing salt and something else they usually put that makes it good. My husband's teriyaki chicken was so so. What was awful was the heat was broke and they didn't bother to rent or buy space heaters. This is too slack for a restaurant.

Great food and atmosphere but the wait staff is very very slow and seemingly needs more training.
We did not get checked up on but once. The waiter put a hot stone plate in front of my infant. Then also proceeded to put a shot cups and our receipt in front of the baby as well… we had to ask for more utensils after getting our food since our table wasn’t set up. We then proceeded to wait 15 minutes for them to come back with the necessary utensils to eat. By this time our food had cooled down. We enjoy coming here for the authentic food, but the service is always a bummer.

Great food at a great AYCE price, with options for base AYCE and premium both being reasonable. Christina was very helpful in her recommendations on how//when to cook the meats in an order, and did a great job setting expectations(ie letting us know if she's about to be in the weeds) while still being attentive and ensuring we had a great experience. Would recommend!

Absolutely horrible experience. Right when we sat down we waited at least twenty minutes for a server to stop by.
Maybe she just didn't like our table. I am not sure, she came by a total of three times for the whole dinner, no refill in drinks, burnt pan that stunk up the room, couldn't order more due to her not coming by. Told the server we have never been here so can you please explain everything. She said she will bring the food and just cook it! I asked what the sauces are on the table, and she said dipping sauces and walked off. Incredibly expensive. Left hungry and grabbed Chick Fil A after! Do not recommend. Go to a restaurant that cares.

Cooked my own food! Enjoyed a real Korean meal at 843 Korean BBQ. I had the pork, beef and sausage with grilled vegetables and rice. Hubs had shrimp...and it was all you can eat! I helped myself to the sauces that were on the table to add additional flavor to the already seasoned meat. 🍖🥓🥩The servers were real friendly and made dinner fun! I'll give my dining experience a Five out of Five Stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Also, don’t forget to try the takwan (yellow sticks in garlic/sesame sauce). So good. I ordered a bucket of them to take home to munch on!

This place needs a complete decor overhaul. The tacky decor almost scared us away at the door. The food was delicious though and really saved the evening. Our server was also great.
Tips: get rid of the tradition dining side and embrace the real reason people come there: Korean bbq. We were the only table in the tradition side. It’s a complete waste. Make the entire restaurant Korean bbq. get rid of the stupid mirror entrance walls and let people visually see how cool the hot pot cooking is right when they walk in the door!
Get a designer, and clean the place up. Seemed dingy, drab, and TACKYYY! Outdoor seating was also terribly designed, cheap, and tacky.

We came here an hour before close after having a terrible experience at the other Korean BBQ place down the road. Ash was our server and took care of us right away after we told her that we waited over an hour with no food down the road and were starving. We really can’t brag about Ash enough! Some of our group had never had Korean BBQ before and she did a great job recommending items and explaining the process to them. The food was amazing with great cuts of meat and service was 10/10. You won’t be disappointed if you come here!

This is place is very odd. My fiancé and I noticed when we first walked in the vibes were just off and we both felt
very uncomfortable. We get seated and our server comes over and she is decently polite. Truthfully, this girl was weird. She was very attentive to him and not to me but it didn’t bother me. My man was the only one having Korean BBQ and I had sushi (which was really good). She comes over while he is cooking his food, takes the utensils out of his hand and starts cooking my man’s food for him, which he’s been to Korean BBQ before. He turns to me after and said “she just took the fun out of Korean bbq, why is she cooking MY food” we laugh about it. Then this chick asks my fiancé if it’s okay to feed him, like literally put food in my man’s mouth right in front of me. I laugh and he declines, and rightfully so this made him SO uncomfortable. We both had to laugh about it the rest of the night, because is was extremely awkward. He is already anxious and doesn’t like social interactions, so for her to assume it’s okay to feed a stranger was a really weird way to serve your customers. I was honestly jealous of the other tables around us because their server seemed talkative, fun, and attentive. The food was good, but I know we are never going back. The experience was so WEIRD, funny as hell but not an appropriate way to treat a couple at dinner.

Crazy expensive only because the place looks fancy not because the food or staff is good. Not that many options. Not worth going to. Which south carolina had more options 💔

Tony was our server and honestly, one of the best servers I have EVER had at any restaurant establishment. He was super personable and bent over backwards to help. He was a great instructor and guide. We also were pleasantly surprised as we enjoyed the music as well as the fact we were quickly ushered to our table. I give the BBQ experience a 12/10 pineapples (yes, we are in Charleston after all) rating. BTW, you must try the grilled pineapples. Check this place out — you will not regret it.

Fun place for dinner bc you get to cook your meats & veggies yourself at the table. Service wasn't great due to short staffing but the one server I saw was really hustling around. Huge portions. Interesting appetizers that come with the premium all you can eat option ($45/pp premium gives you access to fancier proteins like scallops, short ribs, sirloin steak, etc. $35 all you can eat includes less fancy proteins like chicken, pork, shrimp, etc.). Great value for the amount of food & fun you'll have bbqing it up with your friends/family.

This place is definitely an experience. You can tell the building wasn't originally designed for a KBBQ restaurant. When you first walk inside, it looks more like a nightclub than a sit-down restaurant.
Good:
843 has the highest quality and best flavored meats I've experienced at an AYCE KBBQ and I've been to several. Getting the premium AYCE menu is soooo worth it! Scallops are a rare option at AYCE and that alone makes it worth the price compared to just a seafood restaurant. All of the food and appetizers were amazing though. A lot of different options and even a large menu of a la carte items if you want more variety.
Bad:
Charging extra for rice at an AYCE is insane! They wanted $5 for a bowl of plain white rice which is unheard of for me. Any Korean restaurant I've been to will pretty much give you rice for free with your meal. Lettuce wraps were extra as well but other KBBQs charge for that too sometimes so that's not as egregious.
Service was also slow but they did appear to be short staffed. It took about 15 minutes just to be seated and the restaurant was nearly empty. This didn't negatively contribute to my score though as the staff was pleasant the entire time so I could overlook that.
Overall, I had a great time and would definitely consider 843 next time I'm in the area!

Again, our server was just phenomenal, I have celiac disease and she made sure to confirm the items I could eat and replaced the grill between each meat so I wouldn’t be affected by cross contamination. Highly recommend this place for anyone with a gluten allergy!

Well, since my family's Korean restaurant was sold and I now have to pay for Korean food, this is my new go to place! I only get the Korean BBQ when I go and leave full and very satisfied every time! Here's a tip when you order the bbq which you grill at your table: they have an all you can eat option for those with huge appetites, BUT you can't take any leftovers home, which makes perfect sense. We got the 3 meats for 2 people for $80 and that comes with all your Korean sides like rice, kimchi, etc. We had enough to take home and had another meal so that's even better! We'll be back sooner than later!

Went here with a big group for a birthday. Place is kinda run down. Waiter was very nice. We got the all you can eat. I'm really picky about my meat and I could taste the "game" in the meat which was kinda gross. I loved the veggies and fruit they gave us to grill. That was really good.

Ok $45 it's slightly expensive BUT, the quality of the meat is on point. Wished they had more side dishes or soup to go with the AYCE option but I'll take what I can get. Karaoke room is bit small and bit confusing for non Koreans to use. Elizabeth "tall girl" has been our server every time we went and she's absolutely great!

We enjoyed our time here. We would like to come back. Very filling and satisfying food. One entree could feed me about four times!

So what we ordered the food was not pleasant. The pizza pancake was good. The spicy chicken was not good. The rice cakes were very chewy kinda like gum and the chicken wasn’t good. The second dish was soft tofu soup. That wasn’t good either. We only ate the pizza pancake and barely touched the main dishes. Maybe it was off that day but won’t be coming back. The bbq did could be different but it was full

The service is terrible. The first dish tastes good, the scallops are also good, the barbecue is just so-so

Love my experience every-time I come to 843. I was able to do the KBBQ part to change it up just a little bit. But I will sooo recommend dipping your beef gimbap inside your tteokbokki sauce it’s gives you such a sweet -savory and spicy explosion in your mouth 🥰 👩🏾🍳💋

We moved to the area recently and we were looking for a Korean bbq restaurant near base. Google search suggests this restaurant. After read the reviews we decided to give it a try. So glad we did from the point of reserving the table until we finish our dinner was a very pleasant experience.
We reserved thru open table and got a confirmation called from the restaurant almost right away. We arrived to the host desk and we were greeted warmly and welcomed. They took us to our table right away and everything was ready for us.
Then we change to a booth as we have little kids and we want to keep them under control which the waiter agreed to and help us to moves us. We ordered kids first then we took sometime to orders ours. They have some issues with the system so our food order didn’t got to the kitchen on the right time. Furthermore, we had to waited longer than expected. She came an apologize for the issue and told us that the entire meal was on them. We were so happily surprised, blessed and humbled by the way everything was handled. We are going to recommend them and keep visiting their restaurant for our Korean bbq dinners because food is very fresh and delicious .
Thank you again…

Love the experience! We take family here when they visit because it's just a great bonding experience to BBQ your food together and eat. The staff are always really friendly. The downside is it's pricey, but I always leave really full and satisfied. They used to do a daily meal special to pick up during Covid and they were really delicious and affordable. I wish they still offered that because we would indulge more often!

Did the KBBQ side on this visit. Cheese corn is just canned corn with melted cheese on top. Ribeye was low quality, half of it being fat, and they seasoned it with "Montreal steak seasoning". Shrimp was in the shell... with seasoning on the shell? After cooked and peeled, it just tasted like plain (low quality) shrimp. A small draft yuengling was $7 (during happy hour). We were given 2 small plates to eat off of, but had a whole ribeye (the meat wasn't sliced thinly like I expected Korean BBQ meat to be sliced). My wife started slicing the ribeye with a dull steak knife (that we had to ask for) while I started cooking the other items. But after cutting the whole ribeye, one of our only two plates is full, and we didn't have anywhere to put the other cooked items (because the other plates had raw food on them). Grossly overpriced for the quality of food.

Everytime I come here the food is always good and the service is great. I usually do the bbq side but this time I opted to go the other side of the restaurant, it was cold that night and I ate a hot pot. Really delicious and very filling meal.

A true Gem, I absolutely love this place. The food is authentic and makes me feel at home the kimchi stew taste just like my grandma made it herself. I have been coming here for years now, the soju selection on point !! And the staff here treats you like family it doesn't get any better then that I tell everyone an always bring family and friends you can't go wrong.

So so sooo good! Let's first start with the service. Absolutely amazing. Our server Angela was super attentive, and very very helpful and personable. A+++. For the food. Everything was super flavorful. The chive pancakes were absolutely delicious and could be a meal by themselves. The kimchi is so fresh and full of flavor. The other pickled veggies were awesome too. As for the main I had the spicy chicken Bulgogi, and it was everything! We will definitely be returning and making this a go to spot!

Angela at 843 to the RESCUE!! We already loved this place and visited several times a month. The food is consistently high quality and authentic, but last week, they literally saved my friend's life!! The family (15 of us) had just finished another fantastic meal when my friend, who didn't realize she had a severe allergy, had an allergic reaction. We happened to have an epipen, but there was a malfunction. Thank heavens the restaurant manager had a spare on stock!!!! It kept my friend alive until the paramedics arrived... We normally bring a large group and everyone is pleased with the food. It's rare that a restaurant can please everyone in a large party, but 843 does it every time. Thank you so much 💓

Honestly, I love KBBQ and this was just the worst experience I’ve had. The food tasted abysmal, they clearly use the lowest quality meat that you can buy and under season everything.
The inside of the restaurant NEEDS an overhaul. This was the dirtiest restaurant I’ve ever sat in that isn’t a Wendy’s or McDonald’s. Absolutely filthy, even the cups that were given to us looked like they had never been washed.
I would do anything to have not spent my money here. I feel sorry for the nice staff that have to serve such terrible food in such an underwhelming environment.

We love 843 Korean BBQ. Beyond being close to home, we really love the happy hour menu, pork and kimchi stew, and the fact that they have takoyaki on the menu (which I know isn't Korean but is worth getting). Other favs include steamed mandoo with Kimchi and kimchi-jeon. The Soju selection is incredible and the staff is knowledgeable on the different styles which is always great.

The food was excellent. Out server Tyler (or maybe Taylor) was very funny and attentive to our needs. He was quick and informative about everything we ate. They don't pay him enough.

ONLINE RESERVATIONS ARE NOT ALWAYS ACCURATE! They can (& will) overbook and not always honor the reservation! Which sucks when you show up in and are told you can’t be seated for another 1-2 hours!
Once you do eat there -the food is very good and the service is great! Best kimchi in Charleston btw.

843 Korean provides excellent service! I called them for a catering request last minute for my work anniversary dinner. Not only were they able to provide my request they went totally above and beyond for my team! The food was excellent and the comments from my team were "this is the best anniversary dinner that I've ever had." I highly recommend 843 Korean for any of your catering/food needs!

Arrived at 8pm on a Saturday night with no reservation. Was going to be a long wait for bbq so we decided to go to the sushi bar. Server and sushi chef were great. We decided just to enjoy a few appetizers and sushi. Food was fantastic. Highly recommend

Food is okay, but nothing was great nor worth the money we paid. Good quantity, though. Service was pretty good, except they stuck us in a booth and then brought over a grill (went there for Korean barbecue and not for sushi), which made exiting the booth a bit of a challenge. All in all, I don't plan on going back there. When you drop a hundred for two, you expect, well, something more.

love it! I am a regular here for happy hour. The service is always amazing . Each time I have come here over the years, everyone I come in contact with is friendly and helpful. The food is made to order and always hot and tasty.
The bar menu changes often but I love it. You can get sushi made to order . I don’t eat sushi but my friends always order it.
There are spaces here that are great for large groups - lots of space. They have all of the traditional menu items you would expect in a Korean restaurant with authentic Korean flavors.
P
My favorite is beef Bulgogi on rice . A new dish is the beef Bulgogi on French fries. I had that for the first time last week and I loved it! Most entrées come with a variety of small dishes of kimchi, and other shareable tasters. Everything has been good.
On one side of the restaurant, there are plenty of booths and tables to accommodate large crowds.
On the opposite side, there is an area where you can cook your own meat. If I remember correctly, it is all you can eat at one setting. I have not been back there in a while.
They have three karaoke rooms in the back. My friends and I have come here multiple times, and spent hours singing, drinking and having fun at our own little party they make it fun to spend time here.
It is very kid friendly. I have seen plenty of families here. There’s an outdoor covered seating area.
Bathrooms are clean . Dining areas are cleaned frequently.
Restaurant is right off the main road or rivers and close to highways
