Avoid this place. Not worth the hype. Silverware was dirty and food is mediocre.

Tried their omakase and also ordered individual dishes.
Slow, service sucks, sushi much worse than other omakase but overpriced.

It remains an extraordinary experience. After 20 years it's stayed true to the spirit that made it a Philly favorite. Unfortunately they don't make tofu at the table anymore. They should bring it back.

I had the pleasure of taking my stepson to Morimoto last night as an early birthday gift. First of all, the atmosphere is awesome. I don't know how they made the dining area feel so spacious, yet still retain some form of intimacy while your dining, but they pulled it off!

Secondly, the drinks were delicious! Well-crafted, delicious, and strong! Some were deliciously simple, and others had an inherent complexity that ended up being a precursor to the upcoming meal (in a very good way!).

Thirdly, the food!! Lord, the food... unbelievable. My stepson and I decided to put our meal in the chef's hands and went with the Morimoto Omakase. Best. Decision. Ever. I firmly believe the chef put his absolute soul into every dish we had. The chef and staff represented not only themselves, but the restaurant AND their teachers/instructors well. I have absolutely no negative critiques. You know you are having a wonderful dining experience when you are already thinking about returning to the same restaurant while you're dining!

I also want to make a honourable mention to the wait staff at Morimoto. These unsung heroes deserve some heartfelt recognition for the service they provided last night. They were very kind, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable. They took the time to describe every single dish that the chef presented us, and in some cases how it was prepared and even suggested on the optimal method of consuming said dish. We followed their suggestions, and were very grateful!

All in all, a wonderful experience? 10/10. I'm already looking forward to my next experience.

Prefer to give 4.5 stars.
Ambiance- very cool. There's a lounge area above where you can get a drink and also order food. I saw a server carry food up to a couple. It overlooks the dining area. And as my friend mentioned there is no bad seating section in the dining area. Its modern and open.
Service- attentive. Can't complain at all.
Food- This was about a 4.
Chirashi: wasn't anything like a typical chirashi. The visuals didn't bother me though, but the taste was mid.
For a cocktail I had the odokuro which was too sweet for my liking. Then I had the morimoto martinin, which was ok, very light. My gripe with those drinks was that they're not filled to near the top. There was a good 1/2 inch space left in the glass and I thought that was strange.
Wasabi fried rice: tried my friend's and its very good. I would have it again. And it's not spicy at all like you would imagine.
Cod: I didn't try this but the person who did said it was amazing. Our server explained that it was actually an iron chef winning dish so that would explain it. I'll have to try next time.
Pork Gyoza: I tried my friend's who ordered and it was pretty good. Nothing amazing but good.
Hot Stone Wagyu: Good but also because you can fry on the spot on the hot stone. Sometimes I'm scared of wagyu because its more fatty and I didn't know if that would be the case but it wasn't while still softer than regular beef.
Someone else had the Seafood Toban Yaki- I only tried a piece of scallop and crab and both were good. He was pleased with the dish.
After all this it looks like the black cod miso was the winner which I will try. Definitely go and try at least once because its a unique cool place.

Went here to splurge for my wife's birthday and what an amazing experience.

We did the omakase while our kid did a normal meal experience. What a wise decision that was.

Our server Isaiah was just amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable and helped guide us through our meal as well as pairing various sakes. I did the premium sake flight while my wife did a lost in translation (their take on a margarita) and both were amazing. Before I dive into the food, I did have to mention my awful scallop allergy. Of course that could affect my experience.

Our omakase was an 8 course adventure that started with an egg custard with uni and smoky bits. Very delicious and buttery. We then ventured to a tuna tartare which was in a homemade soy sauce and topped with crispy shallots and caviar. Third was a raw jackfish with mushroom infused soy and a ponzu foam.

It was at this point our kid's meal began so their food journey could end at the same time as ours. They started with wagyu on a hot stone. It came with a hot river stone to cook the meat, wagyu fat, black garlic sauce and a pile of salt and pepper. Isaiah showed us how it all works and off they went. Ironically, while they were chowing down, our next piece of our meal came out. This was a raw wagyu topped with a large piece of uni and wrapped in shiso leaf. Both were fantastic and would highly recommend. As this was a one bite item, we very quickly got the next piece of our meal which was lobster tail and knuckle with asian pair mixture. This came with a delicious whiskey infused sauce. By far the best lobster we ever have had.

The next pieces of our meals came out together. Our kid got chicken kotsu curry while we received fish in a wasabi sauce served with roasted mushrooms. The skin on our fish was super crispy and the meat so flaky and delish. I can't remember the fish or mushroom unfortunately but omg so good. The curry was also phenomenal. Very flavorful and surprised at how crispy the fried chicken pieces were considering they were soaking in the amazing curry sauce. Not spicy at all just packed full of flavor. It was at this point my wife got their Cosmo style drink which was starfruit infused(as you can tell by it hanging off the side there). Of course it was awesome!

Our sushi course came out next and once again I can't remember all of the different types it was but they all had been preglazed with soy so no dipping was necessary. Each bite was perfect, melt in your mouth. Due to it being her birthday, my wife did get a special macha cake dessert that was excellent. Our server Isaiah recommended a sparkling dessert sake that had a raspberry flavor, it was the perfect accompaniment to our final piece of the omakase.

Our dessert was more matcha cake with a cherry sorbet, edible flowers and a white strip of what I can't remember. Damn delicious is what it all was. Our child got a cappuccino along with their dessert(a smore like concoction with mascarpone ice cream) that was also amazing.

Nothing more to say other than just go! It's worth the trip from the surrounding area(we drove up from Baltimore). The vibe is also very laid back and the music was also very calm and soothing. Strongly recommend but will forewarn that it is a pricey meal.

This most recent visit was underwhelming to say the least. Omakase was ok at best. The potatoes is the beef dish were stale like the were reheated over and over. My first experience was awesome, this go around wasn’t. Too expensive for 3 stars , sorry..

Had a group dinner here recently. The atmosphere and service were great! H dishes were hit or miss. The rice cakes were a bit greasy but the sashimi was divine. The wagyu udon was a disappointment. The chicken katsu curry looked and smelled great but I didn’t haven’t any. The desert bento box was a let down. I didn’t like anything in it. This was a pre-set menu so I didn’t get to explore the full menu.

Best Japanese restaurant in Pennsylvania hands down. A friend took me and my girlfriend here for my birthday, it was the BEST MEAL IVE HAD IN MY LIFE. This isn't an exaggeration, had a bunch of different things, the sushi, wagyu, cocktails, dessert, and the sake was the best I've ever had. Its expensive but the whole thing was a culinary experience rather then just a dinner. The different grades of tuna were great with the otoro being out of this world, I always hated sake but enjoyed the 6 different types I've tried, best espresso martini I ever had, the wagyu I had was the best peice of beef I've ever eaten. The service, food, atmosphere was a next level culinary experience. Everything I've eaten since has paled in comparison.

Highly recommended if you enjoy Japanese food, you must take the time to come here at least once in your life. Or youd be robbing yourself of potentially the best meal of your life.

New review for an additional visit on Nov. 2024
It’s very hard to find a restaurant that keeps consistency for so long. Last visit was on 2021 and the review said it all. This visit was even better. They had newer chopsticks, servings plates and bowls, updated menu with much more varieties, like the Wagyu beef section. Sushi was super tasty and fresh. Wagyu dumplings were one of a kind, must try! We set on the counter and the kitchen was very clean, the staff were super quiet. I could hear the chef cleaning his knife with the cloth lol. 2 Cocktails were made to a T. Service was knowledgeable, caring and attentive by the staff and the chef himself. The tuna toro (pink roll) was a the hit of the night, same as both dessert, chocolate mousse cake and ice cream with sesame twill, and pineapple Panna-cotta(see photos). One of the best restaurant establishments I’ve ever been to.
Don’t miss this place!

I’d give 10/10 if it was an option! From the very first moment we opened the door with the designed door handle, till we left - PERFECT!!
Excellent COVID-19 practice, staff is very knowledgeable throughout the menu, very friendly. The chef’s behind the counter were extremely professional and clean. All of the products are fresh and sooooo tasty!! Thumbs up for the clean bathrooms as well. As I mentioned, PERFECT!

Morimoto is a trendy social media snap shot ready restaurant. Cool ambiance. 18-30 year olds will love it. Even 30-60 will find it enjoyable. Maybe not as impressed with the gradually shifting led lights that highlight your seating area. Yes you guessed it, I am in this category to be sure. Not a true Japanese experience for environment or food (but what is a true Japanese experience in most countries these days?). It’s a fun environment with fresh food. It’s also one of my daughter’s favorite places to eat right now.

Morimoto obviously hasn’t been here in a while. The food quality was okay but not worth the price. Cocktails were uninspired. The best thing was the seasonal dessert. They should give bigger pieces of fish in the chirashi and I’m taken aback by the $19 price tag on ONE piece of uni.

This is my fifth Morimoto experience. I have been to NYC, Napa, Honolulu, and now Philly. Each one of them has their own unique design and feel, and each with their own amazing food. Thank you so much to her for making our experience all the more magical.

I LOVE THE FOOD HERE!! Oh my god! I got the wasabi fried rice and miyazaki 5oz wagyu and I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised. For appetizers, I highly suggest ordering the miso soup! Very different than other miso soups I’ve ordered it comes with a large portion of tofu perfectly cooked! I also suggest ordering the spicy tuna crispy rice. The interior design is a little bit too unique for my taste, but I can see how others might enjoy it. The service was amazing! Ahmani our waitress was very patient and friendly the entire time we were asking questions about the menu! 10 out of 10 would come back!

Over priced and over rated. The vibe made you feel unwelcome. The staff came across as pretentious. Beyond loud inside. Food had good presentation but flavor lacked imagination.

Sushi Experience №41

Beyond disappointed by my dinner last night. The only redeeming quality was the quality of the sushi. Our waitress, Amani, was inattentive and dismissive, giving certain parties more service than others while doing nothing herself with other staff members bringing out the food with her doing nothing but collecting the tip.Sushi and drinks were good, however the other menu options were disappointing especially the rock shrimp tempura which was salty and greasy, while the koji salmon was overly fishy. While the atmosphere was also horrible, with one specific party yelling and banging on the table, while the staff stood aside doing nothing while us and other tables were clearly bothered by the noise especially considering how this is considered an “upscale dining establishment”. After dinner we left with memories of the pretentious staff and rude customers rather than a memorable culinary experience.

The food was delicious, it was the first time me and my husband have been out as new parents. The king crab edamame and the wagyu beef Hot Stone as starters. I got around of sashimi and a mix of sushi rolls for my second course. My husband decided on the A5 wagyu beef fillet for his first entree and his second entree was the salmon dish which was tender to the touch and delicious in the mouth. I myself were an entree decided on the chicken katsu curry which was bubbling as soon as it hit our table. As a dessert, we decided on the fiery chocolate cake as well as a complimentary celebratory dessert dish that came to the table. Our server. Monica was so joyous and splendid throughout the whole experience. The next time we go we will be looking forward to dining in the lounge area on the second floor.

I recently dined at Morimoto, and it was an unforgettable experience! The sushi was incredibly fresh, with each piece melting in your mouth—absolutely top-notch quality. However, what truly made the evening exceptional was the outstanding customer service, especially from the restaurant manager Edward and Forest who curated our dining experience.

Forest was attentive from the moment we sat down, providing insightful recommendations that enhanced our meal. Awful experience, waiter was not at all accommodating for our birthday celebration. Ordered Omakase and had a terrible time, would never recommend. People around us got candles and nice plates for their birthdays, my wife got nothing for hers. Absolutely awful time, which is a shame because the food was so good. Most of the time when experience is bad, we don't write reviews on them. But this one, we had to. Three generation of my family visited all the way from Northern NJ to celebrate a very special evening. The entire Omakase experience took well over two hours. Food was average at best. I would be shocked if Chef Morimoto approved this qualify (or lack there of) and service. We will NOT be going back. We will NOT be going there again and would NOT recommend anyone to this restaurant.

Sushi Experience №63

The highlights. The food was fantastic. Party of 2, we did omakase + sake pairing + a few additional menu choices. Everything was very good or better. I probably wouldn’t do the sake pairing again but it was good, there were just other, better, imo choices. The flow of the staff was consistent and attentive. That said many were just going through the paces. Our main server clearly didn’t have much, if any prior food service experience, or training, which for this style, reputation and price point is pretty disappointing. Which leads me to the next negative.

Cleanliness. For those that balk at the “if I’m spending” statement I apologize but we’ll just have to agree to disagree. If I’m spending over $700 on dinner for 2 it’s my belief that my server shouldn’t grab my water glass by the rim to refill it. That the tables and floors, walls and bathrooms, etc should be clean. Morimoto is not. It’s clean like a $30/plate chain restaurant clean but that’s the best I can say. There’s superfluous wiping, but nothing is clean and servers consistently go from clearing tables, picking up trash, etc. to serving food without wiping, washing, sanitizing, exercising any kind of basic food service hygiene procedures or training.

The space itself is fantastic. The execution of the construction is hurried but acceptable (speaking as someone who has built out several high end restaurants) but the design elements and theme are gorgeous. My hats off to the architects snd designers, a job very well done.

Would we return? Maybe. Sit at the counter, try a different tact with the menu, assume we get a different server (who was, to her credit unfailingly pleasant, just poorly trained or not suited for high end food service)? Maybe. There are other very good omakase choices in Philly that are without question better per $/spent. All in all a pleasant evening, I would just say that almost every $750 meal for 2 I have experienced was better.

Me and my fiancé had dinner reservations somewhere else in the city but I came across Morimoto on tik tok and thought it looked like a great place to check out. Upon arrival, it’s easy to miss as there’s no sign just glass green doors and a valet guy out front. The decor is really unique and nice for a date night. Our server was outstanding, wish I could remember her name. Overall the experience was pleasant but the bill ended up being $280 (after credit card surcharge) and what we had just didn’t justify what we paid. The drinks were awesome but the sushi and 15 hour pork belly left much more to be desired. The food just was not worth the price

Sushi Experience №73

I've been to Morimoto many times over the years, and the food is still consistently great, and very fresh. Unfortunately this time, the service was subpar. Our server (and other waitstaff like food runners, etc.) was friendly, but disappeared for long periods of time. Food came out before our first glass of sake. It was my husband's birthday, which I noted in the reservation, but no one ever mentioned that. After we finished a carafe of sake, I ordered 2 different glasses to go with 2 last pieces of sushi. We received these (sake & sushi) at the same time, but then nearly 45mins passed with NO ONE stopping by. We kept looking around trying to flag someone, get someone's attention, walk around, but everyone was in the back I guess. No one even came by to fill up our long empty water glasses, clear empty plates, etc. Finally our server reappeared, and we just asked for the check. She said, with surprise, "Oh, no dessert?" I mean, are you serious? We had planned to order more sake and dessert, but by the time someone came back to us we just wanted to leave. Leisurely pace is one thing, but this was unacceptable.
Additionally, as other reviewers have mentioned, the place is certainly in need of a refresh. I think just a touch up and deep cleaning would be warranted. When Morimoto first opened, it was a premier destination and experience, and a singular experience in Philly, but that is no longer the case. There is a lot more competition on the Philly food scene, so they need to keep up if they want to continue to charge the prices they do.

After seating me immediately, my waitress Hanna greeted me and began to ask what my preferences were. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and recommended I try the Tuna Pizza. It was great and a nice starter. I then ordered a Tuna Maki roll and Spicy Yellowtail Maki roll. The roll was very fresh and delicious. The service here is what stands out. The staff was very friendly and even gave us a couple of treats as we were there celebrating our anniversary. Everything we ate was excellent. The sushi was the best I've had since I was in Japan. I don't normally care for shrimp, but even the shrimp tempura my wife ordered was delicious with the wasabi aioli. The drinks were wonderful and the wagyu dumplings and steak were to die for. The only very small criticism I would have was the steak was cut a bit thick for wagyu. Would have been even better cut thinner to enjoy the texture and have more slices. Overall was an excellent dining experience and my wife was also cracking up at the interestingly shaped table lamps.

Morimoto was excellent! Ate a delicious meal of Tuna Sushi and Wagyu Beef Udon while in the city for work one evening and was pleased at the entire experience - the vibe, the service, and of course the food.

As one would expect from a restaurant holding the namesake of an Iron Chef, Morimoto's menu of classic Japanese with some twists and flair is highly likely to please anyone in Philly looking to eat like the judges might on the classic food network show. I certainly was not disappointed, and likely will return when I'm in the area again.

Omakase and beverage pairing were a massive let down. Service was OK, food quality really bad. Restaurant generally dirty and in disrepair. Expected way more. Even writing a review the next day tells you how I feel like my $600+ could have been better spent somewhere else.
Gutted.

Morimoto has been a special resturant for my husband and I. We always rave about the food and service. This was our first time back in awhile. The service was okay and at this type of resturant it shouldn't be anything short of phenomenal and the quality of the food and preparation of dishes has greatly decreased. We don't mind paying more money for amazing food. But spending money on standard food hurts.

I went here for a celebration dinner for a business thing and it was so great! The crispy tuna was mouthwatering and spicy. The wagyu dumplings were insane, and the sushi was fantastic. The salmon entree (in pic) was hands down the best salmon I’ve ever had. Plus the service and vibe of the restaurant was really good too. I love that they gave us a complimentary dessert too which was unexpected and a classy touch

I ate every single bite except for the wasabi. What an experience. I went alone and took all the food and drink recommendations of my server, Andrew. He suggested the 8-piece seasonal sushi sampler plus the crunchy yellowtail roll, and it was the perfect amount of food. For dessert, I went with the calamansi tart. Good lord. It was amazing, and I'm still thinking about it. The entire meal was absolutely worth the price, and I can't say enough good things about the service.

Went here for a special occasion. Spent a small fortune, but the food and the staff were awesome. It was a bit noisy though, and I’m sorry I took who I did with me, but the chef’s sampler and the paired sake flight were worth the money. I’m not sure what all I ate, but it was amazing.

We ordered Omakase and Sushi Combo with a Chirashi Bowl. Sitting here now almost 2 hours and still waiting for Sushi and Desert from Omakase. For God's sake it's ONLY 9 courses. All the chefs are busy but not making our food. If I hadn't ordered the Chirashi bowl I'd been starving. that Chirashi bowl alone took around 30-45mins. Omakase is over priced for its price, the Chawanmushi or whatever is too salty. Same as the sauce used for Wagyu. This is not my first time here and I got disappointed. This is not how I remember it. Quality of fish is okay but way too bland. I would not recommend this place for Omakase. there's plenty of choices in town nowadays.

We sat at the counter and got a nice view of the entire restaurant from where we sat. The sashimi chef special was nice and fresh as we expected to be at price and Morimoto restaurant. Our service was ok, we left her good tip. Unfortunately we got a nice view inside the kitchen and saw two men taking turn to make sure the food is properly prepared before it gets pick up by the wait staff. They both had long beard and hair that we thought thank goodness we are not order anything from the main kitchen. It is not hygienic to see hair and beard are not well kept to avoid any hair fall into the food being served. The restaurant has low lighting so if people are talking and not pay attention to their food I guess little hair in their food would not hurt. I don't want anything that is not an ingredient in my food, especially hair of any kind.especially at a nice restaurant like Morimoto.

I was fortunate to go to Morimoto in Philly to do their omakase. This is a chef's tasting selection that varies from day to day, and each course is unique. I can't begin to describe everything, but I can say that the experience was well worth it. It was a unique dinner experience that made my girlfriend and I happy on our anniversary.

The sushi had such impeccable care in presentation and quality, the wagyu was great (by itself and in the udon), the cod was melt in the mouth delicate, and the scallops were tender.

I ate a lot of things outside of my comfort zone, but it was well worth it!

The service was fantastic, and the setting was beautiful.

Ps, sorry for the lighting being weird, it was difficult with so many colors from the lights!

Great service as server was friendly and attentive to our groups food allergies! The place looks amazing with the modern clean appeal and the lights. It was very loud in there though, which made it hard to hear each other and the servers. Food was okay. The toban yaki was too salty. Salmon was good, but lacked due to no sides included besides the rice. The iski yaki had good flavors although the beef was tough to chew. The sushi was amazing- loved the spicy aioli as well. We had a birthday in the group so they brought out a complimentary dessert for him which was a nice touch! If I go back, I would stick with the sushi.

I have LOVED this as a special place for decades. When I was pregnant with my second son (over 19 years ago), their rock shrimp tempura crunchy shrimp appetizer was a CONSTANT craving! I came back 3 weeks ago and was so disappointed with it. I actually think a cheaper one in Rehoboth at Saketumi is so much better. However. I HAVE to admit their authentically friendly system for food service is TOP NOTCH. Between keeping water topped off, paying constant attention, and being super timely, Morimoto never fails.

Amazing food, great experience. The interior design of the restaurant is clean and progressive with cool uplighting everywhere. The wait staff are on top on things but not pushy or aggressively hanging over you. Highlights were the wasabi rice and stone cooked Wagyu Appetizers for me.The sushi was super fresh and the Morimotos branded saki was some of the best I have had in my life

I don't know where to start with this review because I debated if it should be 3 Stars. Years ago my Korean brother dined in your private room on a family vacation with his American in-laws. My niece and nephew have dined all over the world in fine dining establishments and still rate their experience at Morimoto's Philadelphia as one of their best meals. My sister-in-law stressed how I could not go to Philadelphia and skip dining at Morimoto's.

My Foodie BFF and I had done a vacation in NYC last summer to dine at several Michelin Star Restaurants. She lives close to Philadelphia and stated the Restaurants in Philadelphia are just as good despite the Michelin Guide not currently rating Philadelphia. However, she really did not want to eat at Morimoto's. I opted to bribe her to be my guest as my thank you for doing the driving and majority of our planning for our Philadelphia trip together.

I have been to Philadelphia several times before but not with a fine dining friend. Booking a reservation was a super simple phone call and I was surprised how many seatings options were open. I was called the day of my dinner reservation at lunchtime to confirm my reservation.

So I had looked at the regular menu in advance and selected several items that caught my attention the most. I showed my menu list to our waiter to find out if this was a sufficient order to share for two people or I needed to order more items. We ended up deleting one menu item as a side dish and ordered the three appetizers, rice dish, entree and side dish that I planned. We also included the Fukumitsuya Sake Flight, Tozal Plum Sake, and seasonal Panna Cotta with Merengue.

The menu could have better described the actual dishes. Perhaps that was our waiters job to give more information but as I had a full menu planned he simply rewrote my list and started to bring our dishes.

We started with Waygu Carpaccio, Yuzu Sauce, Hot Oil and Mitsuba Leaf. This is explained on the menu to be thinly sliced. It is, however, not the normal thinness for a Carpaccio. We did like the flavoring of the Yuzu Sauce and Hot Oil. The Mitsuba Leaf was totally not memorable.

Toro Tartare with Fresh Wasabi, Sesame Sauce, and Rice Crackers with Nori Flakes arrived next. We were most impressed with the thin, crisp Rice Crackers. We liked the Seasame Sauce but I did not taste the Fresh Wasabi in the portions I ate. I let my guest eat the majority of this appetizer because she did not like the final appetizer.

The final appetizer was Rock Shrimp Tempura in what tasted like a Sweet and Sour Sauce with a Little Kick. I was shocked to discover the sauce is supposed to be Gochujang Aioli because like my brother, I am also biologically Korean. This Sauce did not taste like Gochujang.

The 15 Hour Pork Kahuni with Scallop Porridge arrived lidless. Perhaps a lid until served would help keep the dish hot for a longer period? We both really liked the Pork Belly. There was, however, too much soy sauce and it overpowered the Scallop in the Porridge.

We were both impressed with the Seafood Toban Yaki with Prawns, Extra Large Sea Scallops, Partially Encased in Shell King Crab, Clams, and Citrus Butter. I was expecting this to be a cold seafood tower. The menu should explain that this is a hot pot including Baby Bok Choy and Mushrooms in a light Seafood Broth and is a dish to be shared with a table vs ordered as a single diner's meal. Clams were a bit small but probably added a layer to the broth. Overall, we would rate this dish 5 Stars.

Side dish was Hoku Hoku Potatoes. This was delightfully light but the sauce didn't add to the dish. And truly with the size of the order, this dish was unnecessary and barely eaten. We did not take this home.

Seasonal Panna Cotta with Merengue was a substantially smaller serving than the version I had at Zahav the night before.

My guest is quite the spirits aficionado and none of the sakis really drew her attention.

This meal was not Michelin worthy.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Morimoto, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance was upscale and inviting, setting the stage for a memorable meal.

I opted for the pork belly plate with porridge, and despite having a seafood allergy, the chef graciously accommodated my dietary restrictions by freshly preparing my meal from scratch. The result was nothing short of spectacular. The pork belly was impeccably cooked, so tender that it practically melted in my mouth like butter. The attention to detail and the chef's willingness to cater to my needs truly elevated the dining experience.

In addition to the pork belly, I also indulged in some sushi, opting for a veggie option. The sushi was freshly made, evident from the vibrant flavors and quality ingredients. Each bite was a delightful explosion of taste, showcasing the culinary expertise of the kitchen staff.

To round off the meal, I savored a delightful flan, accompanied by an exquisite Apple compote on the side. The combination of creamy flan and tangy compote was a perfect finale to an already outstanding dining experience.

Overall, Morimoto Restaurant exceeded my expectations with its high-end, top-notch Asian cuisine, impeccable service, and attention to detail. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience.

I had a wonderful birthday experience here. The waitress was humorous and provided excellent recommendations. I started with the "This is a Pen" cocktail, which was both smooth and flavorful. For the appetizer, I enjoyed the salmon carpaccio, enhanced by a tasty sauce and microgreens. The black cod miso for my main course was phenomenal, even surpassing Nobu Malibu's version. The waitress pleasantly surprised me with a birthday dessert, adding a special touch to the evening. The space is perfect for large groups or a date night, with a bar on the second floor.

I went with the chefs seasonal sushi. Sat at the bar and enjoyed the show. The waitress told me what everything was, but honestly didn't care. I knew it was all going to be delicious, and it didn't disappoint. I had to order some saba and I'm sad now. Nice things I can't have where I'm from and all. Everything was fantastic. We had the omakase with sake pairing, and it was well worth the price. We were served 8 courses with 8 perfectly paired drinks over 3 hours. Time flew by, and we left both full and satisfied. The Hokkaido scallops were the highlight of the night for me. The staff was all knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. I also deeply appreciate the casual atmosphere - our server asked if we had preferences, anything we didn't like, before we got started. We went in wanting to try whatever the omakase had to offer, but it was nice knowing there was at least a chance to say no to something before it was prepared for us.

All in all, highly recommend. Morimoto's is very accessible without sacrificing quality. The chefs here are truly masters of their craft. And if you venture into the omakase, you'll experience some really interesting and fun flavor pairings.

The food was ok, nothing special. I’m giving this a 3 star review because the drinks were on point & we had the most delightful bar tender. Back to the food, it would have been a more pleasant experience if the chef wasn’t so heavy handed on the salt. Every dish was extremely salty, it took away from the natural flavor of the food. My waygu was so juicy & tender but I couldn’t eat more than a couple pieces, I did not take it home. We spent $800 on dinner for 4 people, ended up having swollen ankles by the end of the night.

My family and I ate here yesterday with a Stephen Starr gift card. The atmosphere was impressive with the colorful lighting, decor and architecture. The music gave it a club-like atmosphere. We were excited to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience and ordered tuna tartare, half shell crab (note, this is three snow crab legs, not half a crab), seafood toban yaki, chicken katsu curry, and the udon with wagyu beef. Unfortunately, most items were oversalted. The tuna tartare came with a peanut sauce that didn't taste much like peanut because of the overwhelming salt taste, the chicken katsu curry had meat in the sauce but the sauce was too salty, the seafood toban yaki was steeped in an salty sauce that overwhelmed the butter flavor. The half shell crab and udon were my favorite dishes, however, the mayo on the crab and the sweet sauce of the udon seemed to overwhelm the more expensive ingredients (the crab and wagyu). I've heard good things about the omakase at the restaurant, but was disappointed that the a la carte menu items were oversalted and felt overpriced and underwhelming as a result. Our server, Andrew, was patient and attentive, however, and the wait staff was efficient and observant. We love Iron Chef Morimoto, but were confused and disappointed in the overly salty food.

Sushi Experience №151

It was loud! So loud it was hard to hear our dinner companions. The service was outstanding. Definitely worthy of their one Michellin star. Unfortunately, all of the dishes were way over salted. Consistently, all of the dishes were too salty except for the sushi. I ordered the chicken ramen, which lacked a lot of the common ingredients you would expect in a Michellin star bowl of ramen. It was just chicken, broth, and noodles. The broth was over the top chicken flavor. But in the end, it was so salty that I couldn't even finish the broth. We ordered the side of mushrooms, which were delicious but also way over salted. Unfortunately, everyone at the table suffered from over salted dishes. We didn't complain to our very attentive waitress. Clearly, this is how the kitchen intended it. We shared the cliche but fun flaming chocolate desert. Everyone's cocktails were fantastic, and I tried one of the mocktails that was fantastic. The men's bathroom was clean and shared the same vibe and decor of the restaurant, but you had to walk downstairs around a hall, and it seemed to be shared with a nightclub.

The atmosphere is both cutting-edge and comfortable, making it a haven for food enthusiasts. The service is highly rated, with staff known for their friendliness and expertise.
