Taku Japanese Steakhouse offers authentic Japanese dining featuring a variety of grilled meats and seafood, fresh sushi, steak, and more. An extensive list of side dishes and local specialties will make your dining experience complete.
We went last Sunday and we LOVED IT!!!, I loved the Clear Soup😋, I took 3 to go.
We ordered Fried Rice, Filet Mignon & Chicken Teriyaki, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Philadelphia Roll, a drink that its called CH CH CH CHERRY BOMB, the Basque Cheesecake that I did not like to much, but the food and the service are great.
Great option to eat outside of the crowded parking lot of King Of Prussia Mall, definitely coming back.

Fun experience here! Went for a birthday dinner, we were seated fast and our chef was so lively and entertaining. The meals come with a clear soup that is is hearty and tasty. The entrees you can choose either noodles or rice but they come with vegetables and whatever protein you choose. You get good portions to have some leftovers too. The wait staff is really attentive as well. #hibachi #food #dining

From the start of our dinner we were extremely disappointed. It took forever to get our orders in and get a drink. The servings were absolutely awful. My boyfriend and I ordered filet and chicken combos. This was all the veggies served with the meal. The steak was order medium by everyone and instead was overdone and burnt. The chicken was gross and chewy and several pieces were underdone. Everyone got uneven portions and were so disappointed. One positive was the soup with the hibachi was awesome and we did enjoy our spicy salmon roll! Our server didn’t come over once to refill drinks or check on us so we never even got a refill of water until our bill was handed to us. Will never return, was extremely disappointed.

📍 Taku Japanese Steakhouse - King of Prussia, PA
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Food:
Miso Soup
– Warm and comforting, but fairly standard.
Spicy Kani Salad
– Cute presentation, fresh with a bit of spice.
– Portion felt small for the price.
Sweet Potato Tempura Roll
– Fresh and incredibly tasty with a perfect sweetness.
– Definitely a roll I’d order again!
Pink Orchard Roll
– Crunchy with a nice hint of mango that blended well with the other flavors.
– Could’ve used a bit more spice, and I was hoping for a bit more flavor with all the ingredients.
– The fish was very fresh, though.
Chicken & Salmon Hibachi
– The chicken pieces were cut a bit thick and tasted plain.
– The salmon was good but nothing standout.
– Fresh veggies seasoned with salt and pepper, and the fried rice was less flavorful than expected.
– Yum yum sauce was mild but still enjoyable.
Noodles
– Tasty, but didn’t stand out; could’ve used a bit more butter or sauce.
Egg Sushi
– Unique and fresh, but a bit too sweet for my liking—probably wouldn’t order again.
Red Bean Mochi Ice Cream
– Lacked flavor, a bit disappointing.
Green Tea Tempura Ice Cream
– Mostly fried dough with not much green tea ice cream inside.
– The ice cream was good, but it had melted into a soup.
I was invited to dine here, so I brought my best friend along. The atmosphere was lively and cute, making it a fun spot to visit. Some dishes were quite tasty, but I wasn’t blown away overall—especially for the price. If you’re visiting, I’d recommend sticking to the sushi and specialty rolls over the hibachi. I regret not trying one of their cocktails—they looked delicious! This seems to be a popular spot, so a reservation is a good idea.

Hibachi-style restaurant, but I was on my own so sat at the bar (you can get hibachi dishes without all the show) and had sushi. The bar tender was very attentive and friendly, and the service was quick. I had one piece of their toro which was excellent and then a specialty roll and warm house sake. The food was excellent but was not a fan of their house sake. It was an enjoyable dining experience.

My first time at this restaurant was last year for dinner. We sat at the bar, but I would suggest msking reservations. This was a birthday dinner treat, and it did not disappoint. I ordered one of my favorite cocktails, paper plane. Our appetizer was the calamari. The portion size was smaller than expected, but it was tasty. I ordered the udon noodles with shrimp. The noodles were cooked to perfection and exceeded my expectations. I had to order sushi. The shrimp tempura sushi roll was amazing. This will definitely be on my go-to list restaurants.

The bartender was not only friendly but also incredibly quick, making sure we never had to wait long for our drinks. The Japanese beer selection is impressive, featuring a variety of options that perfectly complement the menu. And the sushi? It’s outstanding. Each roll we tried was a delight. Overall, it’s a fantastic experience!

We just came in for drinks before Christmas dinner at the in-laws. I haven’t been here since it changed over from Champps and I was so impressed. The interior was stunning. We sat at the bar (bonus that they were open on Christmas) and had a friendly chat with the bartender. What a lovely establishment! And awesome cocktails!

service was good. i got the strawberry kiss cocktail with vodka instead of gin. bartender tried to make me order it with gin even after saying i dont drink gin. she used a milk frother in the cocktail so it was 80% foam & 20% alcohol. i ordered the steak & chicken hibachi special with extra noodles, no veggies no rice. food came with rice, noodles, steak & chicken. the rice & noodles both tasted like straight sugar. for $34 i got 5 pieces of steak, 4 pieces of chicken, noodles & rice. the noodles & rice were borderline inedible they were so sweet. compared to a standard hibachi for that price it seems ridiculous to go there. i walked in at 6:30 on a saturday & sat at the bar immediately. service was good. food was mediocre at best.

We arrived for Date nite and the hostess said 20 minutes for grill side seating. No worries. We came for the experience. We went to the bar for drinks . The bartender and her excellent drinks really set the tone. Imagine me...a lover of Tito's NOT knowing there is such a thing as wild cherry vodka!!! Incredible. My husband had the jungle bird...or 3. Also, great. Within 10 minutes we were seated at the grill ( only con...it gets HOT by the grill, dress accordingly). Our hilarious showman/chef nearly outshined the food...which was spectacular. Duck roll for the hubby and pork gyoza for me...yum!!! I got the sea and land with rice and my husband got steak and shrimp with noodles...double yum!!! The scallops were without a doubt the best I've ever had. 3 boxes of leftovers and the " I may need a hand truck to make it to the car " scare....we left happy. Best date night in a while. For as good as the drinks and food were, I think the fun welcoming " my slightly crazy family" vibe was better. We will definitely be back!!!

Our 9 year old saw a video of a hibachi restaurant and wanted to go to one for her birthday.
Say no more!
We chose Taku, as it had great reviews on several sites.
My parents met us there, and they had never had a hibachi experience either.
We got some appetizers and each had a hibachi entree.
Side note, they have a kids hibachi menu!
The entire experience was great; from being seated, to placing our order, to the chef preparing the food and mesmerizing our kids (and my parents, haha)!
I definitely recommend Taku!

We went for an experience and was in and out in 45 minutes. We felt very rushed, the food wasn’t cooked the way I have had it at other teppanyaki/hibachi places. I had to ask them to keep the scallops on the grill for some color. The rice and veggies weren’t cooked very long, and the filet was overcooked. We were never asked how we wanted the steak cooke either. Was disappointed but would give it another shot some day with a different cook.

We have celebrated three birthdays here. The decor is modern and the bar is well stocked. The key to having a great time if you choose to dine in for hibachi is to have an entertaining chef! I can’t think of his name but he has an infectious laugh and he knows how to entertain all guests of different cultures. Drinks are tasty and well represented but don’t except to have a buzz! Food is amazing and you’ll have huge portions. Be alert when your bill comes especially if it’s a birthday celebration. The guest of honor is free (current promotion) and each time we had to remind them to remove their entree. And if you have a large party more than 8 people call in for reservations online you won’t be able to book more than 8 guest. Also, urge your guests to arrive on time for they only seat you when the enter party is present.

sighs. where should i begin? okay, i'll start with atmosphere. this is a beautiful restaurant. spacious, bright, colorful, etc. very comfortable seating. when i walked in, i really wanted to love this place, but then i got my meal. i ordered the spicy shrimp appetizer which was really good, but my entree was horrible. i ordered the ny strip with scallops. whoever the chef was that night can't cook a steak to save his life. i ordered it medium rare and it came overcooked and as chewy as leather. maybe i will have to go back and try again. service was impeccable, so i think they deserve at least a second visit, but i was totally disappointed with the first.

If you want a true Japanese steakhouse experience, this is not it. This is my second time here , as the manager promised it would be better than my first experience. He lied.
The second time was way wore than the first. The chef had no skills whatsoever, ticks me off because I specifically asked for a great chef. I ordered my vegetables with no onions, and the waiter did not tell the chef. The chef just pulls my vegetables from the rest as it had already been cooking in onions. This is beyond dumb already, because i could have died from an allergic reaction and any chef should no this. Never got a refill on my drink. No waiter most of the time. My glass was empty the whole meal.
The food is disgusting. The clear soup tasted like it had pork droppings in it. Rice was cooked in cat pee, or it at least tasted that way. Steak and chicken were good. Any other steakhouse at dinner time comes with soup, salad, veggies, noodles, and shrimp, plus the entree. Not here, there was no salad, shrimp, or noodles for $37. I usually eat Japanese three times a week, but most of the places around here are terrible. This one is number one on my never again list. Also, the manager offered me free dessert for the terrible experience, then left me waiting another 15 minutes for the check. I have never wrote a review like this, means you really pissed me off.

What a cool place for dinner. Loved the sushi and that the calamari was served in small pieces. So much easier to eat that way!
Went on a Saturday night and it was definitely crowded but the folks at the hibachi tables looks like they were having a blast and I very much enjoyed dinner on the other side of the restaurant. I'll be back!

I have been coming here since they opened and till now I have never had one bad dish or drink. The place is beautiful and gives you the option to either do the hibachi show or just sit down and dine. The food is always delicious and the sushi is always fresh and tasty. The servers are attentive and always ready to get you whatever you need and most importantly kind. But for me the best part are the drinks. I am a big cocktail snob and have been through all of KOP. Taku hands down serves the most creative, tastiest, amazing cocktails I have ever seen. For me they are at the level of NYC minus the price tag! I have been through all their menu changes. They have the best lychee martini you will ever have and their flaming espresso martini is so cool and delicious! One of my favorite past items was a Tokyo blackberry sour which I could drink for the rest of my life. They can even makes classics like the Singapore sling which you can't barely find anywhere, at least that is any good. Right now though their Tequila sunrise is my go to. But it is not the normal orange juice version. They make it the way it was when it was first created and I can't rave about it more. The bartenders are literal mad scientist behind that bar. Nhan is an amazing bartender who will take time to talk with you and know you and I give you the best recommendations possible which is so hard to find in a bartender these days. I've meet the manager once and you could tell he has a passion for this and it shows in his drinks. Keep up the good work and I'll keep coming down and I highly recommend you do as well!

Had the hibachi which was good but super high fat with a bit too much butter. Unlike other hibachi restaurants this one was incredibly loud inside and it was difficult to hold a conversation. The chef seemed to enjoy an absurd amount of tapping on the grille unlike other places I've been. If you go just do the restaurant side for sushi that is much quieter and nicer.

This is a fantastic restaurant. The atmosphere is modern and sleek, and the food is too notch. The staff are all extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful. The hibachi chef was highly skilled, and made everything look easy as he flipped his spatula around and tossed an egg back and forth between spatulas and catching it in his hat. We got the filet mignon with lobster and shrimp that was just excellent, and well worth the price. The lobster pieces were big, and you shouldn’t be left hungry. The bartender was also superb. While we waited for our friends, we waited at the bar and she made me and my wife delicious drinks that I highly recommend trying. The peach martini is amazing, and I also ordered a manhattan that most places can’t match in quality. The sangria my wife ordered is made in house with mangoes, strawberries, and apples, and it was just perfect. I’ll be coming here again for sure.

Outstanding Hibachi! First time customers and left extremely satisfied. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also wonderful. It is very spacious inside with bright blue LED lights to accent the walls and nice quaint booths if you want to 'dine in.' Hibachi prices are around $40 per plate, but you will leave with 2 full meals. It comes with soup as well. Drink prices are around $15 which is the going price. The chef was engaged with everyone around the table the whole time. He was extremely funny and the show he put on was fantastic. We were welcomed when we came, and thanked when we left. Everything about this experience was great. Our waitress was also very good. One of the only restaurants I have ever given a 5/5 for! Keep up the great work and can't wait to revisit!

It really sucks that I did not enjoy my time here, My server was okay. I didn’t like my drink and I wanted to get another drink, she told me that I couldn’t. I’m a server I’ve been serving for almost 9 years and I give outstanding above and beyond service! So when she told me that she couldn’t get me another drink, it really made me feel uncomfortable. I completely understand rules and policies because I too have worked at a job where we cannot take a drink back Unless the guest wanted another drink. But to sum it up, she just basically did not treat us well after the drink issue. We basically just got half service. She stopped talking wasn’t friendly any more and I still tipped her because I’m a great person. They need to have better servers at this establishment servers that care! 💯

We were a party of 4 and enjoyed our experience at the hibachi table. My brother experienced hibachi for the first time and absolutely loved the rice and watching the chef prepare the meals. I gave 5 stars for service although I was charged for an extra meal and didn't notice at first. I called the next day, and they refunded the money to me. I was very happy with the quick response. It's not the kind of place you can sit and chat so we left earlier than we would have liked but realize they have other parties coming in. We hadn't seen my brother in a long time so finished chatting in the parking lot. Overall, I would go again when I'm in the area.

I've been here 4 times and everytime the service and food has been fantastic, I've never had single issue with anything the bathrooms are clean the staff is so friendly and they go way out of their way to make you feel at home.
But the bar!!!! Omg best drinks I've ever had, me and my boyfriend have spent well over 200$ drinking the through the menu everytime we've been. Every single drink has been great and the real kicker is I don't like alcohol. So that fact they are able to make any drink off the menu so delicious someone who doesn't drink/like alcohol is amazing. I've gone to other places and hoped for the taku quality drinks and it has not happened yet! Not to mention the entire bar staff is so nice and friendly.

Have ordered from here twice now once we dined in for hibachi and once yesterday we ordered takeout sushi and this is the new spot for hibachi/sushi! Was a little nervous about how takeout was going to come but everything was packaged nicely and super fresh! If you eat sushi definitely suggest getting the crazy tuna roll, the mango Hawaiian roll, American dream roll and the kop roll!

You've been to a hibachi restaurant, so you know the deal. The good news is that we were seated quickly without a reservation at the corner of the hibachi grill and a young couple with three young boys (one of whom was having a birthday) seated with us a while later. Once orders were taken, it didn't take long for our rather subdued chef to arrive. He made big fire, threw broccoli into the mouths of the young boys and their imbibing parents. We sang to the birthday boy (twice). We three in the corner passed on the having food thrown at us. In the past, I've found the food at hibachi places fairly delicious served hot from the grill. But for some reason the food here seemed incredibly overcooked to the point of being almost inedible. The fried rice was delish. But the bill astronomical for what we got. On the way out, we walked through the sexy non-hibachi dining room and I wished we had ordered the sushi instead. But then again, maybe I made the right choice after all. We'll never know, because I do not intend on returning.

I have been a loyal customer for quite some time now and I must say that I absolutely adore this place. Without fail, I always choose to sit at the bar whenever I visit. The food has consistently been fantastic and the service I receive is unparalleled. However, it is the beverages that truly keep me coming back for more MIXOLOGY here- they certainly understand their craft here. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience.

I'm sorry but things are so expensive today that when I pay what it asked, I would expect to be given what has been paid for. 8 pieces of meat in a Habichi meal is unacceptable. $15.90 for 8 small cuts of meat. Will NOT RETURN AND DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND. Times are tough for us all but don't short change your people with 8 cuts of meat because it's from the lunch menu.

We took my son here to experience his first Hibachi. We absolutely loved it. Our chef was funny and engaged with us the whole time. The food was outstanding, and there was enough of it to bring some home. Go hungry, the portions are large. We will be back for sure.

WE HAD SUCH A GOOD TIME!! Came for my sister's birthday. 9 of us. My first time here. Sat at hibachi grill. Service was timely. Everything looked clean except for glasses. Need better rinse agent. Bathroom clean and smelled good. Our cook was amazing! Funny and entertaining!! Food was absolutely delicious. And good portions. We all enjoyed everything we got!! They sang to my sister and brought out dessert for her. They allowed us to have our own birthday cupcakes for her also. If you have a big party and want separate checks jus get that situated early. Sometimes you havta go that way!! But definitely a great place to dine at and did recommend to my coworkers the next day!! Will go back soon!!

The food was burnt my rice was over cooked and hard as well and my shrimp and steak I will not be returning,I will be sticking to Benihana's... and fyi don't let Angga... I might of spelled it wrong but it pronounced Anngry. He cooks entirely toooo fast the whole hibachi experience was ruined, and he added wayyyy to much soy sauce on the rice which was a over kill

Came for dinner and ate in the bar. The bar staff (the Brazilian and Asian bartenders mentioned on the bar menu) were awesome and made great suggestions. The Copacabana and Batido de Coco (cachaca rum drinks) were phenomenal. I had two rolls—Pink Orchard and Fantastic. Both were huge, fresh, and excellent. This place rocks! I highly recommend and will be back. (Probably tomorrow. 😁)

Had my birthday dinner here and staff was super accommodating and friendly. Food is always consistently good. The pink orchard roll is probably one of the best sushi rolls I’ve ever had!
Our server OG is the best and he makes the experience even more special!

We come and sit at the bat strictly because of Nahn, she makes the best drinks around, is always sweet and friendly and knows out order when we come in and we do do multiple times a week

Nhan is a fantastic bartender making incredible drinks. So personable and great at explaining the menu and drinks. All the food is high quality and well worth the price.

The drink was returned as it was flat - no issue with new drink - food is off and not as fresh as we expected - very small Friday night crowd, can not recommend !

We did the habachi. The chef wasn't as animated as other habachi places I have visited. The food was tasty. I liked the goza pork dumplings.

Me and my boyfriend were shopping at the mall and in the mood for Japanese lunch so we tried out Taku. What an experience! The sushi rolls were great as well as the hibachi. The Taku punch wasn’t fulfilling enough so we ordered the Pama mojito and it was outstanding! Also the vibe was really nice. We will definitely be back for date night!

I decided on this place for my 43rd birthday. My party of 9+3 babies, were able to make a reservation for 7 PM when we arrive they needed all parties there to be seated. When everyone arrived, we were seated. They have a nice sized Hibachi area that accommodated everyone they cook the food in front of you after they take your order. The food was really good. Everyone was very pleased. They have a birthday special with 50% off of the birthday person or free meal up to $40 when you have a party over six. I don’t know what I was thinking as I always take a picture of my food and my drinks, but I didn’t this time I think I had a pomegranate Mojito, which was amazing I had the steak and salmon with a side of shrimp. I will be back next time with pictures

I chose to sit at a table and ordered the hibachi. The food came out super quick and perfectly cooked and hot. I will definitely be coming back on my next trip.

The food was ok. We ordered the chicken and filet hibachi. Kind of bland, to be honest. But the weirdest thing was when they served me broth in a tea kettle by mistake. I took a big gulp and was pretty shocked. When I pointed this out, our server smelled my cup and started laughing. He continued to laugh about it with the other servers. He did apologize for the mix-up and brought me actual tea.

Another overrated Social Media Experience. Wouldn’t recommend. Server was rude. I had to get up and look for him throughout the experience. In addition to bothering other servers. He wasn’t attentive and acted as if he couldn’t wait for me to leave. Then had the audacity to create a scene about me choosing not to leave a tip because of the horrible experience. I and another party were the only guest at the time. How could you not wait on me properly when there wasn’t any foot traffic at all? Food was bland and dry. This was another typical aesthetic over quality establishment.
They do not value the customer experience as I even tried speaking to the manager. The manager was very nonchalant.
The server was insulting repeatedly making comments like “you know this is a lot of food”, “this isn’t your typical Panda Express”, and more. You would honestly get a better meal and experience at a Panda Express based on the quality of the food here in addition to the poor experience.
If you’re not located in King of Prussia save your gas and time. I’m sure there are other hibachi restaurants.
