When visiting our restaurants, what you'll see and taste is all a part of the carefully crafted Momiji experience. Our blend of traditional yet outside of the box Japanese cuisine easily satisfies the void we call hunger. Momiji began in 2010 as a 5 table and bar top in NE Salem. Since then, our popularity and dedication to crafting pure, delicious sushi has led us to proudly operate 9 locations in the heart of Oregon. Our passion is to create fresh, tasty sushi every day, for an experience for you, your friends, and your family!
My families favorite! They always want to go to Momiji. All you can eat every time. It's a great deal, great service and delicious food. We drive an hour to get to the restaurant, it's totally worth it.
Favorite rolls ; Rainbow, Shotgun, Godzilla, crunchy salmon.

Overall, eating here was a pretty good experience. Everybody enjoyed their food, and our server was very polite and attentive. My only gripe is the sticky tables and chairs with food on them after being wiped down. Having my arms and / or legs stick to a surface does not make me feel like I am in a clean environment.

My daughter really loves this restaurant. I went there for the first time with her for an early dinner. I'm not a sushi fan myself so I wish there was a couple choices that does not come with sushi. But I got the Is teriyaki chicken combo. It came with teriyaki chicken over rice, small salad, a sushi roll and one other item. My daughter loved the soup along with the sushi roll that came with my meal. I liked the salad it was fresh and crisp and a really good house dressing. Some of the chicken had a slimy texture to it. The rice was cooked perfectly. It was a nice relaxing atmosphere and great service.

My girlfriend and I were visiting family in Roseburg for the holidays and decided to take a trip to the coast for the day to do some hiking after having lunch somewhere in or near Coos Bay.
After arriving, we decided to give the AYCE a try, and started with all nigiri for the first round consisting of 1 order blackened tuna, 1 salmon, 1 saba, 2 hamachi, and 1 deep water crab.
The order came pretty quickly (maybe 5 minutes). I first tried the blackened tuna which was not bad, but was nearly ice cold and on rice that tasted like day old sushi rice, right out of the refrigerator. It was super cold, stale tasting, and almost crunchy in the middle. As it turned out, every nigiri I ate had terrible rice, but the one piece of salmon my girlfriend was about to eat had a bonus hair in it along with black specks under the fish and on the rice.
As she inspected more closely underneath both pieces of salmon nigiri, she pointed out that there were a bunch of black specks under both pieces of the salmon, and on the rice. I told her that maybe it was furikake or seaweed they use to season the rice but after looking at the remaining nigiri, aside from the crab which was harder to check, I noticed that none of the other fish or rice had those specks in it except for the other piece of blackened tuna nigiri. This led me to think that maybe the chef didn't clean his knife, hands, or the cutting board after slicing the blackened tuna and then cut the salmon nigiri afterwards.
Even after this, I was still willing to give the restaurant a chance, because I know things happen sometimes, and wanted to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt.
My girlfriend on the other hand was kind of turned off after the hair and mystery blackish specks, but I went ahead and finished all the other nigiri, even though the rice was really bad. I just decided I would ask for the rice on the next order to maybe be heated a little to take away that stale refrigeration taste/texture, and mention the hair my girlfriend found on the salmon.
When our server came back to the table to check on our food and next order, I kindly let her know that we had a hair in one of the pieces of salmon nigiri and that we didn't want to eat it and I also mentioned that the rice tasted kind of stale and was really cold. I then asked if she could maybe heat up the rice a little on our next order, and she said she would talk with the chef about the rice and the hair we found.
(I think for the second round we ordered 1 rainbow roll, 1 wolfbite roll, 1 steamed gyoza, 1 masago nigiri, 1 unagi nigiri and 1 creamy scallop nigiri)
Shortly after the server left the table, she came back with two orders of salmon Nigiri and said we didn't have to eat if we didn't want to but the chef wanted us to try it.
We gave the new salmon nigiri a try and the rice was much better and had no specs in it at all. My first salmon nigiri did have about a 1/3 of an inch pin bone that I crunched in to, and had to pull out of my mouth while chewing. I didn't choke on it or anything, so it wasn't a big deal, but I feel it's still worth mentioning.
After initially placing the order for our second round, it was about 10 minutes or so until the steamed potstickers arrived. These thankfully tasted good and we had no issues.
We then sat and waited for a very long time, probably 30 minutes , or more, from when we initially placed the order for our second round, and still hadn't received anything else. At that point, I think it was about 1:48 pm (we walked in around 12:35 pm), I decided to just call this experience a bust and asked our server for the check. She brought me the check up front and I mentioned that it we had been waiting about 30 minutes and still hadn't gotten our food. She told me it was because they had a large party walk in. I chose not to press the issue, and said, I get it. She then asked if I wanted to cancel our order at this point, and I said yes. I was then charged $74 for the 1.17 rounds of AYCE sushi and left a $14 tip to boot.
Such a poor experience...π«€

Do not order the all you can eat. I understand they were busy for a Saturday night, but with the all you can eat sushi, they serve every other table and DoorDash before they start working on your food. We waited an hour before getting our first rolls. The only reason we got our rolls at the 1 hour mark is because I asked when we were going to be served. The waitresses never came back and refilled our drinks or came by our table. We had 2 just about empty water cups and a soda cup that sat empty for 30 minutes. They tried to make it up with a discount at the end. But I will never be back.

Fantastic sushi! No complaints about the food or service! The issue is the blasting loud music in the restaurant and in the parking lot. There was a big boom box outside the back door with big speakers blasting. Once we arrived inside, the music was so loud it was impossible to converse. We love music, but this is not a nightclub. We would like to be able to converse over our meal.

This is my first time trying their food. I got the chicken teriyaki. It wasn't that good. The sauce is very light and doesn't really have a lot of flavor that teriyaki sauce usually has. This was our first time to this restaurant. We are new to the area and did not realize it was part of a chain. They advertise all you can eat and that's what we wanted but we're told that that was not available because they were short-staffed. The all you can eat would have been considerably less expensive which is why I think they would not honor it. We spent nearly $100 for two of us and the sushi was mediocre at best.

Tha Happy Hour has some great, quick deals. Although, quick is not always best for Sushi. The second trip to Momjii was not great. The restaurant is located across the street from Mills Casino. Therefore, they likely have Casino tourist busy times. I was the only guest when I arrived. I ordered a Sashimi sampler platter, normally called Chirashi, a bed of rice topped with fish and (pickled veggies), seaweed salad and cucumber. I was served within two minutes of ordering. The rice was flattened and cold. Rice must be fresh or it grows bacteria. I told the server I was not happy about a cold, pre-made platter, and I explained the laws about fresh rice in Japan. The host graciously brought me a bowl of fresh, warm rice. I was happy, but I had eaten a few bites of cold rice and developed intestinal issues for 5 hours. I'm hoping my explanation about cold rice solves the problem for future guests because the Host and server were very kind.

Everything here is to perfect to put into words for the most part.
The food is always amazing and so are the drinks (except boba but thatβs just bc I lack the primordial urge to slurp up tadpoles through a reed like a degenerate cavewoman)
The atmosphere is always perfect no matter the time of day or how many people are there, even with a family whoβs baby wonβt shut the frick up wonβt be a burden to you, the food wonβt fail to disappoint and distract you from the hellish world we often find ourselves living in.
Other then the atmosphere and food my favorite thing about this restaurant is probably how perfect the staff are, thereβs one short young lady in particular whoβs always above and beyond and she does a perfect job taking any Order.
even difficult ones like I usually have which include multiple ingredient substitutions and changes due allergy requirements are all things that the staff can accomplish all whilst being kind and caring ^^
And On the subject of dietary restrictions/needs and allergies I can safely say that they have it down!, as someone who has to deal with a few allergies from celiac disease to shellfish Iβd like to think Iβm a fair judge of how they deal with dietary needs.
The staff will always take your safety as top priority and will gladly do their best to inform you properly of how a food item is prepared and made, theyβll always be willing to exclude something from a dish if you ask them to leave it out and will even substitute some things for others upon request.
And lastly some more general info on it is that they have both a gluteness and gluten free tempura batter(altho cooked in the same place), they have low sodium and gluten free soy sauce, and lastly but not least they have a few menu items that are entirely vegetarian if thatβs what your wanting.
Over all this restaurant is a solid 15/10 and if you have the money to spend and splurge a bit I highly recommend it!

Upon entry, the floor seemed slippery. We had been here before, though, so let it slide. The waitress asked about drinks within ten minutes or so. But it took her another 35 minutes to take our order after getting us water. Then we waited. We both ordered a happy hour appetizer. My crab puffs came out hot, fresh, but his blackened tuna app did not.
I hate eating alone at a table with other people. Finally, after another 35 minutes or more, the waitress drops off my chicken katsu. Nothing for my partner still. Ten minutes go by, he still doesn't have his sushi, and my food is cold from waiting. Finally the waitress just dropped his plate, which had been ready and sitting since my appetizer had been given to us. He ordered a tempura fried roll, a big sexy roll, and his appetizer. All were on the same plate. All had sat for a loooong time. He ate half of his food. I ate less. My salad was wilted and gross and my chicken was hard. He ended up with violent vomitting and diarrhea from 2am until 10 pm the next day. Thank you fpr the magical food poisoning from improper handling and a filthy restaurant. Clean it up, you used to be good. 0/10 we won't be back because food poisoning sucks!

I had a bento box and it was literally the worst food Iβve ever had at a restaurant. The katsu chicken was so dry and tough I hurt my jaw trying to chew it and the sauce was so salty, I wouldβve been better off downing a spoonful of Mortonβs. The salad was βdressedβ with literal salad dressing, as in Miracle Whip, and the spring roll must have been a really bad frozen brand - mushy vegetables and horrible flavor. The teriyaki chicken was completely flavorless on top of a bed of dry crunchy rice. Service & atmosphere were fine, and my meal was deleted from our tab. My husband had sushi and he said it was alright.

I got to eat all the tempura sushi, for the first time in 6yrs! Six! (Icky celiac) I want to send a Huge shout out to all those at Momiji! Thank you for providing So many gluten-free options! I'm literally in sushi Heaven β₯οΈ

Delivery less then 1 mile away. Waited over an hour and twenty minutes to get food delivered. It was cold. Called and spoke with restaurant and was told an hour and thirty minutes was normal and if I wanted it sooner to order through door dash. Was interrupted multiple times during conversation. Would not recommend. I donβt like leaving bad reviews but this is the second bad experience I have had with this restaurant.

Mediocre all around. Rolls were small and not very flavorful. Rice was Crunchy and our server forgot to order our rolls before bringing us the bill after our app. Probably won't be back. π€·ββοΈ

Great little place. Great presentation. Friendly staff. And the food was great. Sushi was delicious. Good serving size. Fresh.
We ate in. Sake selection was limited but had options. Iβll be back again

I haven't had good Japanese food like this in years! Not just sushi, they also do bento boxes and a variety of appetizers.
Atmosphere isn't loud like some places. I fully plan on going back soon!

Over priced and loose wrapping. My rolls fell apart and one was extremely fishy. Not at all how you would want susi to smell or taste! Updated to add that both my husband and I have been very ill since eating our door dash order from here.

The sushi is really good, some of the greatest combinations of flavours in sushi rolls that Iβve tried! We had the lunch special and had to order more.

Sat at table @1:50 was told we were good for happy hour prices. We got our order taken at 2:01 and literally was told never mind we couldnt the iPad won't let me. Been going here for awhile now and now going to look at other options. That was funny how bad that was. Food was good and it's food prices. Just don't do that. Like u serious lmao.

Very disappointed with management attitude towards customers and door dashers. I was there with my fam as a customer and witnessed the manager tell a door dasher that she needed to wait in her car (which had to be parked across the street) and she would bring out the order to her whenever it was ready. I watched her do EVERYTHING else BUT bag up this order to go. As a fellow door dasher and customer I will no longer be either for this restaurant Felt so bad for the young girl dasherβ¦shame

Loved it! The waitress accidently slipped the sushi off the dish as she was serving it. Purely an accident, point is. The sushi and service so outstanding she brought out another dish and was extremely apologetic. Nice girl, I tipped her fifty. Will eat there again.

Definitely your middle of the road sushi, good balance between price and quality. I have eaten here about 8 times and twice at the Tokyo sushi in town.

Mediocre at best. The rolls lacked flavor, texture was off for both fish and rice - the fish was slimy, which you sometimes experience with older (but still technically "good" fish). The bathrooms were my first red flag - they clearly are not cleaned daily, at best weekly? The booth seat was held together with duct tape that had split open.
The waitresses ran around with a portable landline phone that would ring loudly in her back pocket, lending to the idea they need extra staff / dedicated host for phone calls.
The food came out quickly was the only perk to this place - though we didn't finish our meals due to dissatisfaction of the food.
Generally the place needs some new energy, suggest a new chef and new manager.
Good luck!

Sushi was not particularly tasty, and not the freshest. However, for the price, it's very reasonable quality. Tokyo bistro has much better quality but is also more expensive. Suggestion for the owner would be to invest in ceramic dishes as the plastic dishes, by nature of being plastic, always look dirty.

I arrived and not one person was in the restaurant. I went to sit at the ββsushi barβ and they told me I couldnβt sit there because itβs for staff onlyβ¦.thatβs the first time Iβve heard that before! They all were very young (teens) working there. I asked if they had sashimi and the sushi βchefβ said yes but it comes with rice. I told him thatβs sushi, not sashimi. I questioned how fresh the fish was. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and my plate had a black hair on it. The server did take it back and apologized. I was a little nervous to eat there to be honest and would never go back.

Went in around noon and the place was empty. Service was good for came out fast.
Ordered 3 items. The albacore roll was more avacodo than anything else so all I could taste was avacodo, which I like avacodo but I wanted to taste albacore. The spicy scallops was good, got all the good marks. The rice was not seasoned as well as it could be.

I went to momiji about 12 or 21yrs ago and that place has rude workers, nasty food, filthy flooring, etc. I would not set foot in that disgusting nasty place
My advice to future people who think of going there, just don't.
Go someplace else instead of there

Good food. Bad review, because they gave me the wrong information noti once, twice, but 3 times regarding Tuesday's Special, and stuck to their guns instead of pleasing the customer. Just one time admitting you were wrong means a whole lot to future business from friends and family. smh. Oh well.

I loved this place but 8m hesitant to come back now. Their menu may have gotten a little bit bigger/ in print and font size But they've removed All that was good about this place. Portions are down 1/2 to what they were and your paying that much more to add. They don't offer specials and rolls don't come with anything but 1 napkin! For $ 14+! Before you got soup and cucumbers with a roll that was twice this size. ! Not ok. I won't be back. That's for sure.

The Kastsu was total BS. Sauce was spot on tho. Tempura lacked
Tasteyness it was ok at best. Spicy tuna roll was the shiiit! Sides with Katsu were trash. Not even close to Bento whatsoever. Just get rolls there I'd suggest.
