At Bamboo Sushi, we make every decision with the highest regard for this world and the people in it. From transparency in how we source our food, to reducing our carbon footprint, to enriching the communities that we live in. The Portland born Japanese eatery goes beyond sushi, extending to shareable plates, rolls, nigiri and a delicious wagyu burger, with cocktails and sake to boot.
What a treat to experience a packed restaurant and still get delicious food in a timely manner, plus the burger hit the spot for those non-sushi lovers. But back to the sushi, what's not to love about the green machine. I could order all 3 varieties and be completely happy! Start your meal with the cauliflower and savor each morsel!

This trendy spot has fantastic service overall. I love that they take reservations or you can come in early without one and generally get seated. The happy hour has some good discounts on it and it’s my “go to” spot to take my vegetarian/vegan pals to sushi due to the numerous non-fish options they have.
Bamboo is not an authentic Japanese experience and you shouldn’t expect one when you come here. It’s a Japanese fusion place that specializes in saucy sushi creations.
The fish is the same fish every sushi spot in Portland gets theirs from. Absolutely nothing special about the fish they use IMO. They just charge a pretty penny for the presentation and exceptionally tasty sauces they slather on their rolls. Green Machine sauce is something seriously special and I will buy it “to go” next time I’m in.
Unfortunately, the quality of what they bring out to their customers waivers greatly from visit to visit. We love the crispy rice dishes when they aren’t stale. They prep the crispy rice ahead of time and they often taste like they were made days prior to being brought to a table. Luckily the fish is added just before serving, but it’s playing “CRISPY RICE ROULETTE” every time you order one.
UPDATE
I’ve now had the smashed avocado crispy rice twice in a row and it was FANTASTIC both times. They may have fixed their “quality” issue and it’s worth mentioning here.
UPDATE 2
Continuing improvement noted and this last trip was FANTASTIC!

Definitely not the best sushi in Portland. I mean, it's not bad, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't say it's that good either. The toppings on the nigiri is a nice addition but doesn't really justify the price. Their salmon is decent and the rolls are fine. I will say I was sorely disappointed by the tofu agedashi. Their sauce just didn't taste right and the large, awkward chunks of tofu were begging for more flavor. Service was alright and the atmosphere is about what you would expect at this type of place. Overall, the food is okay, but there is a severe mismatch between the price that you pay and what you get. You're paying top tier prices for dead average sushi.

My husband and I love Bamboo Sushi. The nigiri is fresh, and the rolls have a great balance of flavors. Highlights are the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, Green Machine, and the Albacore Crispy Onion. Service is always quick and friendly.

Wow, what a really amazing spot. All of our food and drinks were phenomenal. Highly recommend you try the blanched seaweed appetizer, it is unique and so tasty. My favorite roll of the three we ordered was the green machine roll add salmon. This was one of the best sushi rolls I have ever had, however everything we got was great! Our server was great and the ambience was very comfortable.

Exceptionally clean restaurant with attentive service. The good is above average but not extraordinary. I found the truffle teriyaki ribeye to have good texture and flavor. The miso fish and tempura were both disappointing. Still, this is a worthwhile restaurant to visit simply for it's location.

We’ve been twice to this location and the food is good, servers are nice but actual service has been horrible both times. Our bill was well over $200 both times and saw lots of staff around, folding napkins, doing stuff, talking but never really checking on our table. We had to get up from our table to ask for things from a server nearby, get our own to go boxes, refills etc. Both times, different servers. Our in-laws just moved in to the apartments above so we are showing them all the restaurants below. Two strike outs at Bamboo, will go to other places.

I will NEVER go back. I have been in this industry for 20 years and have never had such a whack-a-do experience. Our server was in a horrible mood and stood and stared at us everytime she came to the table. Everything we asked she replied “K.” And would linger and stare at us. When my friend dropped her soup spoon, we kindly asked for another one. Our sever replied “Oooookay.” As if she was put out and stared at our dirty spoon for 10 seconds lingering and then walked off in a huff. SO STRANGE. I told the manager kindly, his response? “K.” Haha! I couldn’t believe it. He said “I’ll take care of it” and I said “do you even know where I’m sitting or who my server is?” He said “no.” I was appalled at this horrendous service and when he apologized; he acted Facetious. I see where she gets it from, maybe they are dating. Regardless it was unacceptable and hardly got a “I’m sorry.” Disgusting.

I used to LOVE Bamboo Sushi. Was recently visiting Portland and took family out to this location. I was shocked at how subpar the food has become. We were most disappointed with the green bean appetizer, the green beans tasted as if they were completely raw with some watery cream sesame sauce thrown on top. The crispy rice with avocado appetizer left so much to be desired, I didn't even finish one portion of it. The crispy rice came out cold and hard and tasted of old oil, even the avocado on top couldn't save it. The Green Machine was the only saving grace. Spent around $80 and left bummed out and hungry.

We wanted to thank our friends for a beautiful baby shower they hosted for us. We thought this would be a great place due to reviews but we will never come back again. Service was slow and it wasn't that busy. Our waitress gave us attitude, I asked 6 times over a 50 minute period if I could get a refill on my soda. She ignored me. At one point I told her I asked her 6 times and its been 50 minutes. She proceeded to point to someone elses drink and tell me that was mine. I told her it wasn't because mine but she insisted it was mine. Finally I was brought a soda but we also had to constantly ask for refills on our water container. We did have one adult beverage made that was made wrong, we tried to explain to the waitress but she walked off. We knew we were going to have to pay for it so we it was consumed. When it came to the end, I asked for the check, I knew we were a large group of 7. I saw the 20 percent gratuity but I've worked as a waitress, kitchen line up etc.. the service was not even close to 20 percent worthy. I explained to the waitress and she rolled her eyes. Yes she rolled her eyes, I even asked her did you just roll your eyes at me. I asked for a supervisor and she told me the supervisor was not available. Wanting to get out of there, we paid maybe over $700 dollars for food and drinks and we all left still hungry. I ordered a $18 dollar fish plate that literally was 5 bites. Never going again esp to the Lake Oswego restaurant.

good food! sushi is delicious i loved the sunset roll, edamame was well seasoned, mocktails are amazing as well. the problem, in my opinion, is the seating and service. the service was slow, took us 10 minutes to be seated from the moment we were greated to the moment they led us to our table even though the place was quite empty. it also took our server 25 minutes to greet us, from when we started to look at the menus to when the server finally came up to say hello. but even then he asked us to give him another moment or so, meaning it took us sitting and waiting over half an hour to get an order into the system, which is insane considering i was watching bigger parties of people come in and get seated within the first 5 minutes they entered the restaurant.
the seating also could be better. even though booths were open, they sat me and my partner down right in front of the door, so every time someone walked in or out, a rush of cold air came in, and we were the first to feel it.

Rude hostess. Acting like it’s still the pandemic and they are too busy to be nice. To go orders take an hour when the restaurant is less than half full in the middle of the day. To go sushi also didn’t come with soy sauce or wasabi. Such bad customer service. If their food wasn’t so dang good I wouldn’t go here. But alas, it is.

Couldn’t help but see a misinformed review-reply from management 2 months ago.
Do not say the fish does not have additives or added color. That is false information. I don’t care about your MSC-certification. Be clear and be honest about your sushi.
It is a farmed fish. It has added color. For example, more than any other fish on the menu, its the almighty “King Salmon.” Color added through the food pellets they consume in water-pens. Period. Look it up yourself folks. That beautiful color isn’t so natural. Neither is that fat content.
You should really consider where you eat with misinformation floating around like this…
Ps: You’re probably just doing your job, but this this is not OK as a customer.

Sorry to say that last night was a crash and burn for your restaurant. It was a birthday, and the reservation asked about that, but the host did not convey it to the server or manager. We were seated in the back corner of an empty restaurant at a dirty table. Which made sense as we walked past 4 set and dirty tables. Cauliflower was awesome. I'm glad I got 3 orders as things went downhill from there. Your manager clearly is in over his head. Our server ran one item to our table but had plenty of time to chat with girls at the bar or co-workers. It was robbery to tip for such service. The experience we received was not even worth minimum wage. Restaurants are struggling, and nights like last night do not encourage people to go out. This must be why you sell so much Togo and delivery.

I forgot about the time i went in with my Salvadoran mother-in-law and Mexican father-in-law and they were openly racist to them- it probably wasn't on purpose it was probably unconscious bias from being in Lake Oswego and thinking the typical resident there are the only people who possess wealth

I was recommended by a friend to try Bamboo Sushi for my 14 year wedding anniversary date. Making a reservation was super easy, and we were seated quickly upon arrival. The restaurant was packed solid, so I am very thankful we made reservations. I have fun colored hair and I was wearing an outfit that was very bright and colorful too. I usually feel slightly out of place in Lake Oswego but never uncomfortable. I felt *extremely* uncomfortable with all the nasty looks I received from other diners - it was kind of unreal. Also, it's 2023 - someone with colored hair shouldn't be a bizarre thing for Lake O residents but perhaps if they never leave their bougie zip code, I suppose it can be a huge shock. I guess it's my bad for going to this location. The food was less than stellar, and very disappointing. We spent about $100, including tip, with no drinks, and the best thing we ate was the $10 California Roll. Our server was friendly but only checked on us 2x the entire night - it seemed like they overbook tables, and then don't have enough staff to handle the guests. Giving 4 stars for service because it obviously wasn't our servers fault that the restaurant was packed, and they were clearly understaffed. There is a newer location now at Cedar Hills, so I might give it another try since everyone swears by this place. At least I know I won't be judged for my appearance by other patrons at the Cedar Hills location.

Tonight was a huge let down. We had reservations for 6:15, and by the time we left at 7:45–our server only checked on us twice all evening—once to get our drink and apps order, and the other to get our dinner order. We had run out of water and never got to order our second drink, and sat twiddling our thumbs for 35 minutes after we finished our food before we finally flagged down our server to get a box and retrieve our check.
We’ve been to Bamboo before and the food is outstanding—but for the amount we’re paying, we frankly felt invisible and expected more.
We watched other tables get plenty of extra service and attention so not sure what the problem was but didn’t exactly inspire us to return.

Our food tour guide recommended Bamboo Sushi so when we randomly saw a location near us, we stopped and I’m so glad. We only had room for a light snack of shishito peppers, cucumber salad, a spicy tuna roll and the Garden of Eden. I’ve never had an apple in my sushi so I was really intrigued. Overall, complex and unusual flavors that did not disappoint.

I never leave reviews. The food was amazing. I came with my young baby (he was great, didn’t cry or disturb people) and was nervous and the manager that evening was so kind and reassuring. It was a busy evening and I was anxious and he really went out of his way. I was able to enjoy the amazing food! And they have a great restroom that’s huge with a changing table and was clean and beautifully decorated. No wonder it’s always busy and hard to get a table same day!

I don’t know why this place is so highly rated. I went with my daughter tonight, and we were stuck in a corner, neglected, served horribly over cooked food (edamame, rice, tempura). Any questions I tried to ask the server about the menu they were completely unhelpful, and clearly had too many tables for what they could handle.

Our waitress on Saturday 7/15 was initially courteous but cold. As the meal progressed to almost being done she actually told my granddaughter off. My recent visit to Bamboo Sushi in Lake Oswego to celebrate my wife's birthday was marred by a disappointing encounter with the hostess. While our waitress provided excellent service and the food was enjoyable, the overall experience fell far short of our expectations for a special occasion.
On a positive note, our waitress delivered impeccable service, being both friendly and helpful. She patiently answered our menu inquiries and ensured our needs were met throughout the evening. We appreciated her attentive approach, which made us feel genuinely welcome.
However, our interaction with the hostess left much to be desired. Despite having made a reservation for 6:30 PM through the Resy app, we were compelled to wait for an astonishing 30 minutes before being seated. To exacerbate matters, numerous unoccupied tables were readily available during our wait. Each time we inquired about our reservation, we received progressively longer waiting times, leading to frustration and disappointment.
To make matters worse, we were deceived on multiple occasions. The hostess assured us that we would be seated next, yet parties arriving after us were seated before us, contradicting her claims. This inconsistency and lack of transparency were highly unprofessional, causing us to question the integrity of the restaurant's management.
Furthermore, it was disheartening that despite indicating a birthday celebration on the Resy app, the restaurant made no effort to acknowledge the occasion. This left us questioning the purpose of such a feature if it would not be utilized by the establishment.
While we contemplated withholding a tip, we recognized the exceptional efforts of our waitress and chose to leave a cash tip directly to her. We hoped that this tip would solely benefit her and not be shared with the undeserving management and hostess.
In conclusion, although the food and the waitress's service were satisfactory, the disappointing experience with the hostess tarnished what was meant to be a special birthday celebration. The lack of regard for our reservation, the excessive wait time, and the dishonesty we encountered left us with a bitter impression..

Bamboo Sushi in Oswego is a fantastic restaurant that is definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of fresh and delicious seafood. The restaurant offers a great selection of sushi and sashimi, all of which are made using the freshest ingredients.
One of the standout dishes at Bamboo Sushi is their uni, which is simply amazing. The texture and taste of the uni is spot on, making it a must-try dish for anyone who loves seafood.
In addition to the great food, Bamboo Sushi also offers a happy hour with discounted drinks and small bites. It's a great way to enjoy some delicious food and drinks without breaking the bank.
The restaurant is also very kid-friendly, making it a great destination for families. If you're looking for a place to take your family for a nice meal, Bamboo Sushi is definitely worth considering.
Finally, the restaurant also offers outdoor seating, which is perfect for enjoying a meal on a sunny day. The outdoor seating area is comfortable and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy some great food.
Overall, Bamboo Sushi in Oswego is a great restaurant with fresh and delicious seafood, a great happy hour, and a kid-friendly atmosphere. Whether you're a fan of sushi or simply love seafood, this restaurant is definitely worth checking out.

My mom & I have been to all the other locations but it was our first time at this location. The hostess was so lovely, extremely friendly and great customer service! Our waitress Rebecca/Becca was totally awesome! Very attentive and you could feel they they cared to make sure we enjoyed our meal. The manager of this location also went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. I also noticed the manager really being involved with different roles to help the whole team. Love seeing that! This location has the best Sunomono salad as well!! The other locations definitely don’t make it as good. Will make a point to return to this location specifically. My mom also had her service animal with her, we did sit outside by choice, but there was no hesitation from the staff here about that either. 10/10 would highly recommend.

What they did right: the manager comes to your table shortly after seating and takes your appetizer order as well as your drink order. He was very personable and knowledgeable and made us as customers feel important and valued 👍.
Overall the service was excellent. Very quick, efficient and attentive.
What they didn’t quite get right: well the fish was adequate but just didn’t live up to the hype. I guess you can dress it up with all the special sauces “curated” for each fish and maybe impress some, but we have had MUCH better and fresher fish elsewhere.
Still, the atmosphere was great and overall a satisfying experience.

Some people don't like Japanese food. This is a place for those people. Hot food came out cold, cold food came out stale. Flavors are like someone read the Wikipedia article for Japanese food and was like, "nah this sounds way to complicated, let's just put green stuff on overcooked rice". You're honestly better off getting conveyor belt sushi, and I mean that literally; just drive like 30 seconds more. Seriously, you'll often find more authentic Japanese food at your local Chinese place. Just terrible. If you thought this place was good you should check out the sushi counter at the gas station, you'll love it.

I tried to place an order online for pickup at 8:00 and was canceled through their onlie system (toast). Door dash would allow me to order for pickup if I wanted to pay $15.00 in taxes and fees for their food. The food was also a dollar more per item than their menu lists. I would rather spend the money tipping the staff than paying DoorDash's regulatory fees. I tried calling the store to get prompted "this is the host stand at Bamboo." I thought I had reached a real person; but, the next thing I hear is a beep to leave a message. I then get in my car and drive to the restaurant where there are new tables that are just getting started. The place is quite busy. The host says "the kitchen closes in like 5 minutes and we're not taking anymore orders." She also remarked that Doordash has their listing incorrectly labeled as open til 9:00. The whole experience ruined my night. I have wasted enough time on this place and hope to save someone else the trouble. Bamboo sushi grifts off their patrons and I guess cannot afford to staff to meet their demands. I don't think you can blame the pandemic anymore... at least not when you can easily spend 75$ per person at this establishment. This is the hospitality industry. You should not be so inconvenienced by your patrons.

Normally the sushi is fantastic. Went on a Friday night and the sushi was just okay - more like pre-made grocery-store sushi.

Great food. Great staff. A little pricey but you're in Lake Oswego. The spicy edamame is awesome.

Walked in and had a fantastic experience. Food was amazing. My husband enjoyed the craft cocktails. Great lively atmosphere.

Food is great. Chef Andrew makes pristine rolls and makes for a great time. The server, Hutton, also kills it and was on point with everything.

I was passing by while on a road trip with my wife. We had a huge argument a week before and weren't talking to each other. Our marriage was on the line at this point with minimal chance of recovery. She adores sushi so I decided to stop by and have a quick bite to eat just to ease my mind. Personally I hate sushi but she loved it. We sat down and ordered some dishes and to my surprise I found myself enjoy it. Her eyes seemed filled with delight as well so I had to meet the maker of such a Devine masterpiece. I see this handsome man come up to us asking if we enjoyed the food. I still remeber his name, Andrew. So that was the name of God himself in my presence. I hugged him and told me he single handedly saved my broken relationship. He kissed my forehead and said to me "be well my child." I cried that day. I left knowing that Disney movies aren't just dreams, they're something we can experience.

I came here awhile back and it was not a good experience..... decided to give it another shot for my anniversary and it took a whole 180°. Thank you, chef Andrew for the impeccable sushi, I wouldn't want anyone else making my rolls. He was super accommodating to my requests and made my rolls to perfection. I was impressed he was very young, also. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends. Last night, I experienced something new: an extraordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about sushi in America is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for this location in particular and have diregaurded the motto, "Anyone can cook." But I realize, only now do I truly understand what it means. Not everyone can become a great artist; but a great artist *can* come from *anywhere*.
Thank you for the wonderful experience and making my anniversary a very memorable one. I will be coming back, hungry for more.

I love sushi. That being said, the Unicorn roll I had tonight was on a level far above any sushi I have ever eaten. So much so that once I finished I ordered another! My new favorite spot!

Food and presentation is pretty good for the most part, but service definitely needs improvement!! Wait people, particularly the hosts are rude, unprofessional and unkind! Charge regular prices during happy hour! Unfortunately disappointing for the distance traveled!!

I appreciated the way they treated their staff, they were spacing out walk ins when I arrived as they were short staffed. While the food was delicious, it came out at odd times. Maybe because of the staffing issue or newer staff members. One of our entree rolls came out almost immediately after ordering, but we hadn't yet received all our appetizers. About 5 minutes later the appetizer came, but it was another 10 minutes or so before the other entree rolls were served. Which made for an awkward sitting and waiting for everyone else's food.
I loved the variety of vegan and vegetarian rolls, as I don't eat fish, and loved the "Green Machine" roll I had. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant on a weekday and not a weekend so hopefully you get more consistent service throughout your meal. The food was delicious and my party still enjoyed the meal despite the time inconsistencies and would go back again.

I've been trying to eat at this spot for years. I live nearby and every time I try to make a reservation they tell me I cannot. So I go to the restaurant and they tell me I need to make a reservation. Online I made a reservation and then they told me once I got there they didn't have the staff to honor it. I don't know why the staff here doesn't seem to like me but apparently I'm not allowed to eat for whatever reason

Was told the DoorDash pickup order I was waiting for would "be ready in 3-4 minutes." More than 20 minutes later, I finally was given the order. If I had been given accurate time, I could have left and delivered something else rather than working for no pay.

I have had great food from Bamboo, but at this point I feel everyone should do take out. Their service is SO terrible. I have been here multiple times and have had only one good server. It is kinda brutal.

Service was very good. However, the fried rice was way to spicy and the quality of fish was subpar, causing my stomach to cramp and end the night near the toilet.

This is a hard one for me to write - because we love this place. But tonight we had a different experience than we ever had before
First let me say - if you can request a waiter - Tyler is who you want - he's amazing
that said - tonight we were there (3 of us ) for a 5 pm reservation.
At 7pm - the general manager came to our table and asked us to leave; stating that they had "other reservations waiting"
Now - to be clear - we weren't just sitting around gabbing ... in fact we had just ASKED for our check . We didn't even have it in our hands yet and we were being asked to leave . No one at the table had ever experienced anything like that before and it was a bit shocking.
Our bill - before tip - was $315. THATS $158 for each of the two hours we were there - and we hadn't even gotten a bill yet before we were asked to leave.
We will rethink coming again.

Don't often do sushi but really enjoyed our experience at Bamboo Sushi in Lake Oswego. The prices seemed reasonable, around $8 to $25 per plate. Most plates had around 8 to 10 pieces. The atmosphere was phenomenal especially sitting outside. The staff were friendly and very accommodating as we asked to move from inside to outside. The time to get the food was reasonable, probably about 10 to 15 minutes depending on which plate of sushi. I don't know much about grading the quality of sushi, but we really enjoyed what we had. Would definitely return to this establishment and recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy a great environment, friendly people, reasonable prices, and great food.

We love this place. Never disappoints. Wait times can be bad so better to reserve a table. Green machine is by far the best thing on the menu. Other sushis are nice as well. Tempura cauliflower used to be good but has become much sweeter off late. Hope the sweetness reduces.

Wow! So impressed. Stopped by for the first time after work for HH & I was sooo satisfied 🥰 the fish was fresh and everything I ordered was delicious. I’ve been looking for the right sushi place in PDX for awhile and I guess I’ll just have to drive a little out of town for my sushi fix now! Cassin was very attentive and made my quick meal great! I will be back 🎯

We had an absolutely wonderful server that was so attentive even with us sitting outside. Food was amazing and drinks were strong and yummy. Im vegan and was able to get a variety of things. We live close so im sure we will return soon.

Great food, not great service.
We LOVE the food here but getting a table is a joke. You can't make a reservation online for more than 4 people and they do not answer the phone for some reason. This wasn't a one time thing either, it is a problem every time we try going here. Do yourself a favor and go to any of their other locations.

Interesting to see previous reviews about the ambiance being “excellent”. We found it to be the exact opposite, frankly.
As a tourist to the area, I was excited to experience Downtown Lake Oswego and found myself in the mood for sushi.
The staff was friendly enough and the dishes and glassware were trendy, however the tables and chairs were very cheap and the open style restaurant felt more like a dark and cantankerous cafeteria.
Additionally, after a 20 minute wait we were seated at a two-top right in the foyer and main thoroughfare of the restaurant where it was busy and cluttered. The tiny tables were very close to one another as well.
My review would add another star if we had ordered take-out, as the food was decent and quickly served; but it came all at once…soup, cocktails, appetizer, and rolls.
Would not recommend for dine in, especially if you’re hoping for a date night where you’re able to hear and carry on a conversation.

We keep coming back to bamboo sushi because not only do our friends and family love it but our children love it. The food is always delicious happy hour prices are great and super reasonable, plus it really is high-grade fish.
There’s not many choices around here so to find a good one is why we tend to come back to it again and again.
The few that we like to get every single time we are there are the Weiguo burger (we get it as an appetizer and split it four ways), then for rolls we like the big Island, full circle, and green machine. Plus, you can never go wrong with the poke bowl.

I ordered online and came in to get the food. There were employees walking around and they, at least 4 of them, all saw me and did eye contact. Nobody acknowledged me or offered to get me my food that was bagged and ready to go. After several minutes I yelled excuse me, but still no assistance. Finally I got someone to acknowledge me, and they just said get it yourself. I did, but the service there sucks. Portions were small and the quality just average. I recommend just going to Whole foods and picking some up there. Clearly this place is not going to make it.

Really disappointed in the customer service here. What happened to the golden rule of treating others the way you want to be treated? Do better and treat delivery drivers and guests alike with respect.

Checked in and was forgotten about. Had to go ask when our table would be ready 30 minutes later. Watched them seat walk-ins before us. Honestly won't be back. Better sushi and far better service can be found elsewhere.

I have been here several times (over 5 times) for pick up and in the past they have done a wonderful job even though I've had to wait for my order before. However, my most recent visit was appalling and abhorrent. I was harassed and taunted at this location by the manager after they kept on extending my wait time. I arrived at this location 5 minutes before my scheduled pickup time and was told I would have to wait 10 minutes. I was perfectly fine with that and waited over 10 minutes before checking in. 15 minutes goes by and the order still isn't ready so I call them asking whether my order is ready yet and they told me that they were packing it up and it should be only 5 more minutes so I wait my time again and still don't see my order even though it "should" have been done if they're "packing it". I decide to head back into the store and check in on my order and the order still isn't ready and they check on it and say it should be a few more minutes. It's been 30 minutes of waiting so I express my concerns about how I have been mislead by the staff on the wait time and how it would have been better if they gave me a more accurate time estimate.
The hostess was nice and understood my concerns. However, when I expressed those same concerns to the manager who happened to stop by, I was harassed by him. I am a food delivery driver and the manager's response was that it was my fault and the company's fault for sending me the order too early and the pick-up time on my end is actually 10 minutes earlier than the time Bamboo Sushi is supposed to have it ready. Funny thing is that it's up to the restaurant to select a time for how long the order will take and then the order gets dispatched to drivers. Looks like it's actually the restaurant's fault for underestimating the time it takes to prep a meal. The math also doesn't add up because well let's see if they're able to do some simple math because 30 minute wait time for me minus the 10 minutes I was early equals 20 minutes, meaning that the order is still 20 minutes late. All I said was that I would have appreciated it if I would have been giving a more accurate and honest wait time because the 10 minutes quickly turned into over 30 minutes.
And then the manager continues to harass and taunt me by asking me reptitively if I would like to be reviewed and rated by him on the app. My guess is that he thought he could ignore my concerns and instead scare me by threatening my food delivery gig with a poor review. Well looks like we're both going to review each other now :) Additionally, he continues to attempt to scare me by having another delivery driver assigned. But after waiting 30ish minutes, of course I'm going to continue waiting a "few" more minutes (thanks sunk cost effect). I waited approximately 40 minutes and finally got my order and the server who gave me the order was extremely kind and apologized for the long wait, despite not knowing anything about the situation. Give this person a promotion for her awesome customer service!
The fact that the manager thinks that he can disrespect and harass a food delivery driver is disgusting. Some real elitist behavior at this expensive sushi restaurant. I understand if we might not be a priority because you clearly have customers to serve in person. But a simple, "I apologize for the wait. We're super busy right now and we're working as hard and fast as we can to get you your order. The wait could be over 45 minutes long. Can we grab you a cup of water or feel free to use the restrooms while you're waiting" goes a long way, but straight up lying about wait times is concerning and harassing and taunting a food delivery is even more appalling.
Shoutout to Manzana's right across the street because I have picked up from there and their customer service is absolutely phenomenal. They treat every person who walks in there with absolute respect and they have made my day after picking up from there.

What good is this restaurant if the staff does not know how to respectfully treat guests. (Those who want to dine in OR delivery drivers). The manager of the restaurant, as well as the hostess needs to be trained on how to be honest and respectful of others. If they don't properly treat people- why work in customer service ? It sickens me to have seen the manager treat delivery drivers. If the order is going to take up to or more than an hour. Say it'll take up to an hour. Not 10 minutes.

The green machine with salmon is amazing. It's sweet and soft with a surprisingly crunchy middle. The best sushi I've ever had. One roll tends to leave each adult in my house a little hungry, so we fill out the meal with a side or appetizer. That can get expensive, so we've experimented with the bowls and have found them also quite delicious while being more filling and not requiring an appetizer, which saves us a couple of bucks (and allows us to eat there more often.) Everything is gluten free unless marked otherwise, even the tempura! My wife has celiac disease and has never had a reaction. We would certainly recommend this place to others, it's the best sushi I've had in town. Try the Bamboo Sushi specific rolls, rather than the ones you see on every other sushi place's menu.
