I say service 4 stars cause it is all automatic which leaves out a lot of what you would call human service. That being said, the servers who do move about the floor are great

The experience was fun! The food wasn’t the best sushi we have ever had but all the bells and whistles were fun. For two adults and one 6 year old we spent about $100. We have had much better sushi for much less cost. But it was fun.

Service 3 stars, only because I have a hard time rating a robot.. food was nearly perfect, for what it was.. hand roll was the clear winner. Hostess staff was actually, kind of, stand offish .. but they see so many people every day, I get it.. actual table waitress was adorable and incredible.

I went around 4:30pm with my company and was able to get a table right away. The servers were friendly and helpful with any repeated questions we had regarding what to do with our sushi plates. They also came by to collect bowls quickly so they didn't pull up at the end of the table. I had no problem with the food. Was extremely good and quick with the screen orders if you couldn't find what you wanted on the belt. I plan to return again in the future. Really enjoyed seeing the robot bring the drinks. Haha.

Some sushi felt like they’d been siting for a while but over all most was fresh & tasty. The popcorn shrimp breading was not good but everything else was! They had the little server robots with blasting music which was fun and silly. You have to spend 15 plates to possibly win a prize

The food is okay. The seared salmon tastes too fishy. There is no gluten free soy sauce or siracha. The front desk where you check in seems trashy. Also its way too crowded in there and very loud and way too expensive. 4 seared salmons was 17.00$.

This is not a cheap sushi go round. We’ve been here twice so far and the food is excellent. The crab is REAL not krab, and when we order the wasabi it’s genuine fresh grated. My favorite so far is the spicy crunchy tuna roll. So yummy.

There were a lot of items missing on the menu or not available. The quality of the food i would say hit and miss. One roll can be different by who prepare it. If I order a Uni roll, the amount of Uni will be less than my friend order 3 mins later. It is not consistent, but overall, it is a good experience. I would come back, but not as much cause I feel like some of the dishes are a bit over price for conveyor belt type sushi. All the hype was for me to go out and experience it for myself. Everyone have their own experience and opinions.

We decided to try something new and I wish we hadn't. Genuinely confused how there could be so many good reviews on here. I have never visited Japan, so maybe the atmosphere created was lost on me.

The sushi was disappointing. The flavors were bland and overall underwhelming. Everything was warm, uncomfortably so, like it had taken a few too many trips around the belt.

The service was timid and awkward. I am not a people person so the idea of limited interaction was alluring but the interactions we did have were bizarre. I will say the kiosk said there was a 10-20 minute wait and we were seated immediately.

There are many far better options locally. Even for conveyor belt sushi this place comes in well below expectations.

The best sushi I’ve ever had. The fish… actually smells like fish. The sushi is labeled and you can order from the screen or phone at any time. I was hesitant to come because they use robots and I am opposed to them taking jobs but they really only deliver drinks so I’m good with it. Prices are a bit higher (as is the quality) and there’s always a wait to get in but it is entirely worth it.

I have eaten at over 100 sushi places in my life. The quality of sushi here is easily top 10. Add in the novelty of the “order to table” and the breadth of the menu, instant five star. People giving this unfavorable reviews soley based on wait time are really missing the point. I almost didn’t go because I see 4 stars and think “meh”. This is very good sushi. Wait time is long only because the food is incredible

cute place with decent food and great service! the food could have been better for the price at $4/plate i like the videos that pop up on our screen as they make the atmosphere enjoyable but because there are so many noises happening at once it becomes difficult to stay focused. i liked the ponzu salmon! it had the perfect amount of seasoning and fat.

i also really enjoyed the raspberry iced tea! not too sweet and a perfect balance to the heavy food. i will say that the edamame comes out cold which i was not used to. i was able to call over a server and have them pop it in the microwave which was wonderful. in the end, 15 plates og sushi, an order of mochi, and a raz berry iced tea was $69 which is nit bad but a little surprising.

This was a unique automated sushi experience!

As some other reviews have said don't go in expecting the highest quality sushi you have ever had. While all the sushi is good, it is made en masse by a large kitchen. Despite this, the quality control between plates was fantastic even though there was a line snaking around the building. They have ramen, meat options, veggie options and of course traditional sushi like nigiri, temaki, and gunkan. Ultimately, I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a unique sushi spot.

Also, the robots working in tandem with front of house staff was a bonus.

A tragic letdown.

The service was great. Marcus was amazing. However, whomever made the sushi needs practice. The chef was on the same level as a Taco Bell kitchen worker.

Truly, a disappointment. Anything that was crab salad or anything salad had too much mayo. It was honestly terrible. Not as bad as gas station sushi. But a close second on that battle.

Again, Marcus was awesome. The food was a genuine letdown.

Forst time here, the conveyer belt is fun, we found at 2pm on a Friday most of the popular items would be empty by the time it made it's way over to us. Maybe keep track of the popular items and have more available and reduce the amount of less popular items if space on the belt is limited. Just a suggestion. The service was quick, the drink robot was fun a lot of items have Man is based drizzle, or a spice sauce, food was ok when available. I particularly liked the second teir of personal selection track for some items if desired.

Everything is overpriced!!!!
This is Kura sushi, not fancy sushi restaurant.
Why are they overpriced?
The name should be changed if they cannot follow store brand.

MINI ramens and udon noodles were all $10 and above. Green tea was $3.99.
Almost all nigiris were $3.95 or higher.
I’d rather go to real sushi restaurants or ramen shops.
Very slow response time after customer service requested.

If you want to experience kura sushi in Oregon, go for it, but I will not come back again for food for sure.

The waitlist system is a little confusing. Got a text saying we were removed from the waitlist, even though we just checked in with the host. And then we still have to wait for our names to be called. It's not just us either, as other customers were also confused.

Food wise, this place is good, albeit a little expensive. Gotta pick the good plates, and definitely don't get the $4 watermelon cubes though.

The gift machine thing is cute, but I wished it was more than just a key chain after 15 plates, which was almost $60.

I really want to to like this place because I've heard good things from my Seattle friends and it's a family friendly restaurant. But it was just NOT good. Edemame was cold, no flavor and under cooked. Gyoza felt like frozen food heated poorly. I could buy any Costco brand and they would taste better. Miso soup not warm enough (it's by order, not served on the belt). Green tea ($3.99) was served 10 mins after we ordered and it was room temp. Overall food is so average that it feels overpriced. I can name 20 sushi restaurants in the westside better than this one. Management needs to do a better job.

First time at this place and it was so fun! Easily the BEST revolving sushi bar I've ever been to. That said, also the most expensive at $50pp. However, at ALL other revolving sushi, I can only eat seared salmon (everything else is gross). At Kura, only the uni was sub-par. That's amazing IMO. I would recommend everything except uni.

The nigiri cuts were small and thin, but tasty.

The service was exceptional and very traditional Japanese. I loved it.

Overall. I'd rate Kura far above all other revolving sushi and easily better than over half the traditional PNW sushi restaurants I've been to. In fact, I'd estimate Kura is in the top 20 sushi restaurants in the PNW (I'm extremely picky).

The gashapon was a fun ending to a great experience. I'm excited to come back - I just wish it were more affordable so I could come more often.

I recently discovered the most authentic conveyor belt sushi I've had since visiting Japan. The food was incredibly delicious, bursting with flavor, and offered a wide variety of unique options that are hard to find elsewhere. They even had Warabi Mochi, which I had been searching for and had only found previously in Japan. I highly recommend this place for the overall experience. The only suggestion I have is for them to consider slightly larger portions for the meat or slices of sashimi. Be prepared for a waiting time of 65 to 90 minutes.

Restaurant was half empty, and when we checked in there was still a 30 minute wait. When the hostess called our name and we stood up after waiting outside the entire time, she ignored us completely and immediately called the next name.
We anticipate the food quality would be on par with the service and administrative systems.
We won't be back.

This is a great new sushi spot! The location might not be perfect for everyone, but the food definitely makes up for it. They offer the classic sushi you can find elsewhere, but what sets them apart are their unique options, like their delicious meat sushi—definitely worth trying!

The place is clean, modern, and makes excellent use of technology. I loved the automated payment system and the robot servers delivering special dishes—it’s such a fun and efficient touch!

It’s a popular spot, so be prepared to wait, especially on busy nights like Friday and Saturday. Dinner rush can mean up to an hour’s wait, but the experience and food are worth it. Highly recommended if you’re looking for good sushi with a modern twist!

Let me know if you want to tweak it further!

The hostesses working on Tuesday 12/10 are clearly slowing down the service on purpose because they don’t want to work. We put our name down in the iPad at 6:08, received a text that our turn was approaching and to come check in and we will be seated shortly at 6:15. We checked in as the text said to and the host guy told us to wait outside and they’ll call us when ready. At 6:32 I went back inside to double check they didn’t forget us. While I waited for host/hostess, I glanced at their iPad which was very visible and it showed several open tables. The hostess with dyed hair and crusty makeup finally came after a few minutes and immediately had an attitude with me because she noticed I was looking at the iPad. She told me it would be another 15 minute wait. I was confused because another 15 minutes means we’d be seated at 6:50, when we had received that text at 6:15 saying our turn was approaching next. I asked why I got that text so early / prematurely then if clearly they weren’t ready. The hostess kept rolling her eyes at me and having an attitude, saying that this is how it works and that we need to check in twice basically and it’ll take as long as it needs to take. I called out that there were empty tables and she said they need to be bussed. Why does it take another 15 minutes to bus tables? The plates are literally put away in a slot, all they have to do is wipe down tables with a cloth. I didn’t say that but I kept asking about why they would send that “your turn is approaching” at 6:15 if we wouldn’t be seated until 6:50. The hostess said it’s not her fault and I said I know it’s not, I’m just trying to understand. She got frustrated and walked away and another hostess took over, and again told me the same things. Then she said “do you want us to take you off the list?” And I was fed up and said yes. We took our business elsewhere.

I have been to Kura dozens of times in different cities and it’s never been like this. When you get the “your turn is approaching” text you literally get seated within 5 minutes. I am convinced that these hostesses were purposefully slowing down service and not seating people because they don’t wanna work. If management is reading this, definitely look into this issue because you’re losing customers from inflated wait times caused by your own staff.

Sushi Experience №62

It is all about the hype and it is the sushi belt being modern. The food quality is so bad even below standard. None of the 20 different dishes is satisfying our parties of 4. It’s the first time we can’t finish the meal but have to drive to another restaurant to find something that feed us up.

Visited 2 months ago

Sushi Experience №63

This was a pretty terrible experience. They make you sign in on the tablet. The wait time was around 30 min but 15 min in they tell you to check in with the host. The host then tells you to wait outside for your name to be called. Which he doesn’t even scream the name and just quietly mumbles. There were a lot of parties outside waiting but not a single persons name got called . Then 20 min later we got a text saying we have been removed from the waitlist due to missing our reservation. We then have to track down the host to question this. Just terrible terrible service before we’ve even eaten. This is understandable if the place was packed. But there were 10-12 tables and seats open. While we all stood in the freezing cold. This is a terrible system. Was the food worth it? No… overpriced for 4 dollars a plate. The portion is the smallest I’ve ever had. I’ve had kura in Japan and this is such a let down. The sushi itself isn’t fresh and there are much better options in Beaverton or Tigard where you’re getting high quality sushi that is a much better price. Overall I think this place is messy, slow, and just not worth it at all. If the food was amazing then I would be more forgiving of the messy host situtation.

We went to Kura Sushi in Beaverton for lunch - a fun, authentic Japanese style rotating sushi restaurant with digital menus, gashapon, robots that serve your drinks and water, a slot where you toss your plates for counting, etc.

We really liked it! We gave it 8.5/10 for good, fresh nigiri and rolls, fresh, rice, wasabi, and ginger, strong green tea, and even taiyaki with red beans paste and ice cream on the dessert menu. Sushi was on the small side, a little pricey for what you get at $3.95 a plate, which is sometimes a 3-piece roll or one piece of nigiri. $93 for two for lunch was a little high. Overall, we enjoyed the delightful service, the large variety of choices, and had a tasty lunch! We will be back!

Food was decent, some of the dishes are a straight up rip off for nearly $2 a bite lol. The pictures advertised on the menu are not to scale, realistically you get much thinner pieces than what you see. A few of the dishes were really good such as Takoyaki and cream cheese Eel. As for the calamari dish, I got 4 peppers with it…? 🤣 Overall not worth it for what you pay and is only worth experiencing once. I finished 16 dishes and got my “prize” 🙂. The selection is good and most of the dishes are first rate. The service is a little spotty as they are still dealing with grand opening crowds. You need to be careful with what you choose from the menu however. Since all of the plates on the track have the same price, some of the selections are fairly expensive for what you get

Visited 3 months ago

Sushi Experience №101

The best belt sushi, they are not the cheapest but the quality and taste of the fish is high. My favorite dishes are the bluefin toro and the umami beef. They are far from the world’s best sushi, but when I want something quick they are my first choice. That said I do have a couple of criticisms.
-Make it easier to order wasabi, it should either be an automatic ask from the hostess when you’re seated or an option on the menu, it’s hard to flag someone down and when you hit the call button they act inconvenienced by you.
-Staff should respond better to the call button and I’m not talking time wise I know they’re busy, every time I’ve used the call button they act inconvenienced and/or confused.
-Quality control. When it’s good it’s very good but at times I have gotten meat that is too chewy to get through, or fish that is borderline still frozen, or rice not well formed that immediately crumbles when you pick it up.

If you are in Beaverton, sure Otherwise it’s good and there’s unique tasting plates but overpriced in general. The wait system is flawed- there are so many open seats and yet there was a 30-45 min wait

Sushi rolls were small, food was good because I was really hungry but probably won’t be coming here again. think it’s worth going once because the atmosphere is super cool but everything was really dirty and had a sticky film on it. asked for a new spoon because the one they gave me had watery food floating on it, they gave me another one and that one was also dirty, you definitely come for the experience - not the food.

I tried it. Someone referred to it as the Disneyland of sushi, overpriced and too “kitschy” for me. Decent, less expensive sushi nearby without all the fanfare. Plus you have wasabi on every table, no charge for an entire pot of tea and wait staff are completely attentive. It was a one time experience for me at Kira, but I wish them the best.

Had high expectations at this place after reading all the good reviews, but sadly my experience was not great. And my experience is similar to those 1-2 star reviews here, please read them before you go and spend $$$ for so-so sushi.

First of all, the sushi were VERY VERY tiny (mind you one plate is $3.85) and there’s basically no service as everything can be done on the iPad. Sushi were fresh but tasted mediocre…We ended up paying over $90 for 2.

Thankfully they recently started to allow you to join the waitlist on the app, we waited 55 minutes and our seater was friendly. The inside was very chaotic because it’s a busy restaurant which I expected. However, I don’t think we will return anytime soon.

First sushi place I've been to in decades that doesn't have tamari sauce or show any concern for food allergies. I wouldn't trust them with anything if they can't do that simple request. Hour long wait for disappointment.

The only bad thing is it doesn't have all the same choices of food as the ones in california i have visited. Other than that it is 5 star. I like everything but my boyfriend doesn't like sushi so there are no options for him. In california there where options for him. I still highly recommend the place. I have visited 3 times so far. They need to open one in N.E. Portland. I would go once a week.

I've been hearing about the grand opening of Kura sushi in Beaverton so we decided to try it. I've been to the one in LA and San Jose. The quality here is not comparable. The ones in California are far better. Don't get the American Wagyu or the Japanese Wagyu, they tasted so bad. It came out hard, cold and chewy, not worth $3.95 for two small pieces!

The portions are the same size as the ones in Cali (on the smaller end), it's more expensive than other conveyer sushi's in the area. It was $90 for two people, were we full, no. But the environment was cute.

Have eaten at other Kura locations in the US and so glad it’s finally in Beaverton! It’s still very crowded having recently opened, so online reservations are a must.

Sushi is very good, and getting a prize every 15 plates is fun, but keep an eye on the plate count as the automated nature of everything make it very easy to wrack up a sizable tab.

My partner picked this place to go for his birthday because it was hosting a Pikmin promotion. We went with my sister and her wife for a very low key party. We had never gone to Kura before, but it was so cute! The environment was pretty traditional, the screen where was could just order stuff was easy to understand. Every 15 plates, a little toy drops down and, since there were a bunch of pikmin stuff, the items dropping from the gachapon-type thing were pikmin. The staff were all incredibly sweet and quick, even with how busy they were. Robert was the one that sat us and his explanation for us was very helpful since it was our first time there. I loved hearing the cooks shout from the kitchen, it made me smile every time. It was also my first time interacting with a toilet that had a heated seat and a bidet, I definitely played with all the buttons. We all want to come back when we can! Robert was on top of double-checking the price when it came to checking out (we ate a lot and he wanted to make sure the pricing was accurate), and being kind when we had a mishap a card not working. 10/10, thank you so much for helping my partner have an excellent birthday! 🍣🥳

We got here around 7:45pm and there was plenty of sushi, so much variety, all freshly made. The made to order food was very fast and well made, and came zooming out on that amazing little conveyer belt. Robert and Steph were our primary servers and they both did really well. Robert in particular was so sweet and polite, and very patient with us when we had some weird card issues. The kitchen bustled behind us and it sounded like the chefs were having a lot of fun, which added to the atmosphere. We came for the Pikmin event, and we will definitely be back even when the event is long over.

This place was pretty good for a conveyor belt sushi. The Robot that delivers drinks when you order it on the app was pretty cool, except the robot never came back for a refill even though we put the order in had to ask a server for a refill. Ordered dessert and it came to the top conveyor belt after a few minutes so wait time on that wasn't bad although we didn't care for the mochi ice cream(we never had it before but wasn't a fan of the outsite texture was chewy/gummy like eating bubble gum) the cheesecake wasn't bad but it wasn't great either equivalent to store bought. It is lame that you have to get 15 plates in order to get the free little toy in the machine, because with only 2 people that's hard to eat that many plates-10 plates i feel would be more reasonable. Or at least a option to buy the toy. Overall while it was a fun experience and I'm glad I came, i probably wouldn't come again because of the drive there are closer places near me, plus cheaper. Every plate here on the conveyor belt was 3.85, spent around $60 by the time I tipped and didn't even get a toy lol. Oh yeah and app didn't even work right when I scanned the QR code at checkout with my phone so I couldn't even try to use my points (I had 300 in the app for downloading plus 400 from our meal) so I couldn't even get my $5 reward-Would have been cool if it actually worked, and yes I tried several times kept giving me a error message.

My first Kura experience was in Osaka, Japan. Imagine my surprise and delight when I discovered they were opening up in Beaverton!!! I went with my son on a Friday - it was an estimated 1 hour wait but we were seated within 45 minutes. Just like in Japan, you can order from the touchscreen or just grab the plate off the conveyor. The more plates you empty, the better chances of winning a prize. The sushi quality is not the same and their menu is different (catered to American sushi) but still a fun experience. Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly.

The fish quality is solid, and the menu has tons of options. That said, it's overpriced with small portions compared to other nearby conveyor belt sushi joints. All ordering is through a screen so I wouldn't give high praise to the service. It's also very clearly a "corporatized" endeavor and while it's branding is fun and entertaining, it walks the line of being a gimmicky establishment.

Food Rating 2 out of 5:
-Nearly $4 for every single plate on the belt
-Portions are extremely Tiny!!! Nigiris are bite sized and the rolls only have 3 pieces of sushi per plate. Usually other sushi conveyor belt restaurants have 6 pieces.
-Ngiri sushi rice falls apart easily
-Lacking flavor
-Tough fish, doesn’t “melt” in your mouth
-Desert $6! But the tayaki ice cream was well worth the $6
-Not much variety in my opinion

Service: 2 out of 5
-Each time we order directly with our servers they keep forgetting and we need to ask twice. We went Monday Eve and it was not busy at all
-Pressed the button for refills and no one came the entire time we were there

Overall not worth it and came here just for experience. If you want to earn a prize you need to spend a 15 plates which equates to about $60! The prize isn’t even worth it because they’re magnets and other useless things. I was NOT full and we spent $80 for two people. Would much rather go to Akira sushi which is right across.

EXTREMELY overhyped. Wished it was genki sushi instead.

I liked the creamy scallop ngiri. Seared salmon was a disappointment.

We succumbed to temptation (repeatedly!), devouring 17 plates of pure deliciousness.
The fish was incredibly fresh, the servers were charming, and the whole experience was a feast for the senses (and our stomachs!).

The sushi here is really excellent and of very high quality, which explains the higher price. We visited for lunch on a Saturday as a group of three, and it worked out great, though larger groups might find it a bit tight. A tip for those who enjoy smoked nigiri: order through the tablet, and it comes warm and fresh. After a certain number of plates, we received a cute little gift!

P.S. We tried going twice and there were 90 minute waits both times. Reserve a spot ahead of time on the app or you’ll be met with a long line.

Just went there a couple of days ago, nothing special, the food tasted mediocre, definitely not worth the price. Lack of food on the belt, and we end up ordering with that tiny screen up on the side. Very uncomfortable to use. The worst part is the tiny wasabi that they gave 4 of us, not even enough for one hand roll. So I have to keep asking for more. Very annoying. Signed up for the rewards program when I got home and earned two rewards for $5 a $15 plus order that can't be used at the same time and have to be used within a month. Doesn't really seem worth your time unless you're local and stop by for lunch. Best thing about the app is that it allows you to join the wait-list.

They're a successful chain of belt sushi. Food quality and taste are universal among their stores. Amazing quality control. I personally love their hand rolls with soy paper, fresh and rich in taste. My only complaint is that this location still has no online waiting list or ordering so far. Customers have to join waiting list at the door front then find out how long they need to wait. At WA or LA locations, I could join in list at home or anywhere, then arrive on time. Would you open this function at Beaverton location? Please!

Good quality but a little pricy for a revolving sushi place. I have been eating Kura since I was a kid and although the sushi didn’t taste like the one we have in Japan, it was still very good and relatively fresh.
We got there around 11:20 and put our info in the machine to get registered. It’s nice you can leave your phone number and don’t have to just stay and wait there.
Opens at 11:30 and they were calling out names one by one. Seated a group before coming out again to call the next group. So even tho we were the 3rd group it took a while. For me, revolving sushi is all about speed. I’m used to getting called and being told a number and you just go to the booth with the number on it. I saw they had numbers on the booths so I hope they will be doing this soon.
All the sushi was the same price so of course we had to skip the cucumber rolls, egg and Inari, although I do like them so dearly. Personal favorites were the shrimp, and the Spanish mackerel. The negitoro and uni was mediocre. Uni looked a little sad as you can see in the pic.
The wasabi is amazing and a must! But for some reason they don’t have it on the tables or on the tablet even tho they promote it so much on their screen. You have to find someone to get it for you.
Also, the green tea is not free!!!! It is refillable once you order it.
The gacha is per 15 dishes… Which is a bit many, considering the prices.
The screen is attached (for theft prevention ? ) and a little hard to see for those sitting right under it and for people away it’s hard to order as you have to reach over.

The Kura I know is more for kids and families but this one feels like it’s more for adults to enjoy.

Came for the Pikmin event; overpriced, portions are small and pretty mediocre even by conveyor belt sushi standards (sort of onpar with like grocery store sushi, which is fine just not as good of quality as i was hoping), and to be fair we came on a very busy day but man this restaurant is LOUD, nonstop timers beeping going off and dishes crashing makes for a pretty overwhelming experience. The restaurant howevers very clean though and has a cool gimmick going for it with the gacha machines, and a pretty versatile menu, the staffs also nice enough but also pretty hands off, I'm sure I'll be back at eventually. Overall, its good just know what you're getting into before you come.

Please be sure to check the allergen information on their website before you go. The staff was clueless and didn't know and didn't seem to care when I mentioned that I had a food allergy. Very dangerous for someone if they have a serious allergy.

Why does a Philadelphia roll (Salmon, cream cheese, and cucumber) have gluten in it?!? So many of your items had gluten in it. Very disappointed. I normally get get tuna and salmon nigiri, but I wanted to have something different, but there weren't many more things for me to try as most of the sushi had Eel sauce, yuzu, ponzu, or soy on it.

Also for a chain restaurant from Japan I'm surprised they don't have gluten free soy sauce available to use at the table. No wasabi or ginger at my table either. Long wait time to just get in the door.

Had a great time here. Was it loud? Yes. Is it more expensive than most conveyor sushi? Yes. Will you have to wait, especially on a weekend? Yes. Should it be difficult to decipher these things ahead of time? No.

It was fun and unique. The sushi was good, and the tokyo vibe and gatcha capsules were really cool.

Take a moment to think before you use Google reviews as a platform to reveal to the local area that you're impatient, entitled, and overall lacking in critical thinking skills.

I was hoping this would be more sensory friendly for my autistic partner, but it was very loud and the Kettybot server never came to our table.

We had four different human servers that we could barely hear over the noise.

The tablet plays a cartoon as a reward that did not have volume control and emitted high tones that had my partner covering his ears in pain.

I will be trying the location in Tacoma to compare experiences, because the concept is great. I really want this to work as an automated dining experience, but it currently is too loud and too popular in Beaverton for my family.

Sushi is good. Better than your average track for sure. But we have been here multiple times now and the most irritating thing about the experience is their efficiency with seating.

For example:
We arrived at 11:20 on. Tuesday (10 min before opening) & there was already a line. But it was a line to get on the waiting list. Perhaps the list could have started prior to 11.30 to speed up the process.
There was one host person who would come out to call for a party to seat, they would take them in, and if it was their first time, they get the whole run-down by that host. The problem is, it’s one host doing all of this. The line didn’t move fast at all and the restaurant was completely empty. We were seated at about 11:50 and the restaurant was still over 50% empty. Is the waitlist like that necessary? No. There were so many employees just standing there who could have helped seat guests. So many people in the line were so frustrated by this process.

Sushi Experience №193

My husband and I wanted to give this new restaurant a try. There is a reason why they are always busy with long wait times... it's the NOVELTY of the EXPERIENCE. They price all their sushi the same price at $3.85 regardless of the fish, if its a roll, handroll or nigiri style. Some of the order/plates only had one 1 piece of sushi (bluefin, uni, and a few others I can't recall). The pieces of nigiri and rolls were small and lacked freshness. Some were tasteless. All was OVERPRICED. We couldn't tell if we were eating salmon or yellowtail or aji because they all tasted the same. Definitely not authentic Japanese as described on their website. They don't have low-sodium soy sauce or Tamari, but their wasabi was killer and made from the actual wasabi root! That made the sushi more enjoyable.

One cup of green tea was $3.90 and they never came by to ask if we wanted a refill. We ordered the Shoyu Ramen for $11.50 for a slightly larger sized bowl than you would expect from a bowl of Miso soup. However, the noodle was cooked well, al dente, and the soup tasted fairly good. We did eat 15 plates, so we got a "toy"!

If you wanted to order something that is not on the conveyer belt, you used the tablet. It gets delivered by the "robot" or carted over to you on the conveyer. The only service we received was from the hostess who seated us and from the robot. So, exactly why are we leaving a tip?

Take away all the novelties (tablets, toy reward, robot, chucking your dirty plates in the slot, etc.), this restaurant will rank the same as the other mediocre 3-star Sushi restaurants around town. Are we glad we visited? Sure. We wanted to see what all they hype was about. Will we return? Absolutely not.

They get 2 because it looks cool. The food was horrible. Squid appetizer was chewy like a dog toy. The wagyu Nagari was just drenched in soy sauce totally ruining the beef. Crunchy roll was not crunchy and in fact very bland. Will not visit again. Will go to Tokyo roll on sw Barnes instead.

Changed to 1 for the generic a.i. reply from the owner.

Why is this location one of two locations in the whole country where you can’t access the waitlist on the app? Won’t be returning until they get their waitlist system together because I don’t even want to waste my time driving over just to see a 1.5-2 hour wait. In that time, I’ll go eat somewhere else and then barely spend any money once I’m sat.

Kept my standards initially low since it was conveyer belt sushi--was pleasantly surprised. Pretty awesome place for a conveyer belt sushi without the lower quality of typical conveyer belt sushi. The place is kept clean and the offerings on the belt are pretty delicious if you're adventurous. Can't speak too much on the bowls and rolls but the nigiris are the way to go to try out everything.

Since it's a relatively new place, expect to wait for a bit. Once inside, service was smooth and quick. Went on the first week it opened and it was around a 3 hour wait, whereas a Monday evening a few weeks after was about an hour.

Well worth the wait and the drive out to Beaverton.
