This place is absolutely phenomenal. Super interesting and innovative food mixed with fresh and delicious classics. The garden of eden roll is probably one of the most spectacular things I've ever eaten. The staff has always been so friendly and chill. The vibes are immaculate and I highly recommend checking them out.

This was a delectable experience and worth the price. I ordered the Garden of Eden as a recommendation from the server and my friend who is a regular ordered the Green Machine, and she's vegetarian. I loved my roll and the unique flavor profile it had. Then I had her roll and the taste explosion with the cilantro was just lovely. We also had the Maitake mushroom starter which had so much umami and it was devoured. The cucumber salad was light and a little sweeter than I prefer but still tasty. Can't wait to come back here!

Yummy and almost all gluten free! A lot of it was spicy which isn’t my taste and left with more limited special rolls. The waitress was very helpful and took her time to talk and give recommendations. It is family style so the food won’t come out at the same time

This was my first time at this location and I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the space was! I would suggest to make a reservation as they were basically full at 5:30 on a Wednesday. This fish is super fresh and I love their sustainability philosophy. We went for happy hour (everyday 4-6). The happy hour menu is just alright, wish there were rolls on it.

My experience at Bamboo was nothing short of extraordinary. As I was talking to the host, Ella W, I casually mentioned that I was getting married soon. Somehow, the entire team got wind of this, and what happened next made our dinner experience so memorable! The chef prepared a special dish and sent it out to our table as a gift!

While the dish was certainly a highlight of our dinner, the staff stood out to us even more. From our host, Ella W, who warmly greeted our party the moment we walked in. To our server, Will, who was attentive to our needs. And even to the manager, Davon, who came by to personally congratulate me. The effort to celebrate my upcoming wedding made me feel so special. Thank you Bamboo team! I already cannot wait to dine there again.

I recently went to lunch at Bamboo Sushi and had a mostly great experience. The 20-piece Chef’s Choice Sashimi was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The Roasted Maitake was also a fantastic choice, full of rich, umami flavors.

I sat at the sushi bar and was served by the bartender. Unfortunately, he seemed a bit distracted and preoccupied with a couple of other people at the bar, which was slightly annoying as it took him a while to take my order. Fortunately, I knew what I wanted, so I placed my order quickly once he was available.

Despite this minor hiccup, I still love the food here and have been a loyal sushi lover at Bamboo for a while now. A word of advice: parking can be tricky in the area, so try to arrive a little earlier to avoid the hassle.

Overall, Bamboo Sushi continues to deliver excellent food, and I'll definitely be back.

This is the busiest most well-staffed brightest friendliest sushi place I've been in and I've been to a lot of them exclamation point they've got to drive her waiting area out of the way of the customers and they've got a great personalities and they're fun the food smells great!!!
Make a reservations at least one day advance because they do not mixing their reservations. Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday definitely made reservations

I love Bamboo Sushi and frequent them often in Seattle and this location but for some reason this location is literally the slowest for service I have ever experienced. One time I ordered a pick up for a miso and 1 roll and they still told me it was going to be 20-25 mins and there was not a single other customer inside! Then today I went to pick up after being told it’s a 40 min wait for take out and there is only 4 tables seated. The food was not ready so waiting still. I have tried them a few other times but the wait is always astronomical.

Everyone was very nice and helpful, but honestly was very disappointed in the food. My partner and I had ordered the spicy tuna and Salmon crispy rice but it felt more stale, almost hurt to chew because of how hard it was. Sadly it did ruin our first experience here.

My wife and I recently decided to try Bamboo Sushi Cedar Hill for the first time.
We opted for a variety of sushi rolls, each meticulously crafted with fresh ingredients. The fish was incredibly flavorful and the rice perfectly cooked.

The atmosphere was clean and modern, creating a relaxing dining experience. Overall, we had a fantastic meal and would highly recommend Bamboo Sushi Cedar Hill to anyone looking for delicious sushi in a friendly environment. We'll definitely be back soon!

Had a less than average experience for what was a pretty expensive meal. We ordered sushi, which was divine don’t get me wrong. 20 minutes later my husbands $20 burger came out. He’s had it before it was amazing, this time it came well done when ordered medium. I had literally already finished my meal and a drink by the time the burger came out. My husband, who is an admittedly slow eater sooo slowly ate his burger in an effort to show the server how over done it was, but starving of course so he ate. With about two bites of burger left the server finally stopped by, I ordered another drink and told the server the burger was way over done, a shame for a $20 burger. He said ok thanks I’ll tell the kitchen, fine we thought we don’t need it comped or anything like that, we were hungry and we ate. We then waited another 25 minutes with NOTHING on our table except water for our $75 check. I have no problem paying a premium for bamboos sushi, it’s always perfect. I know some will say this is a sushi place and who orders a burger? Well, don’t serve a burger if your cooks can’t prepare it. Drinks were good, not great for $15 a piece. Overall, we had an overpriced and underwhelming service. I’ll just door dash my sushi from now on, since the experience is subpar.

We were here for dinner the other night and had a mixed evening. We were seated promptly by a nice hostess and the server was mostly attentive until some of our food had been forgotten. He was kind and promptly replaced the sushi but it was way too salty even for our liking. He removed the roll from our bill, which was kind. Even as we left the tall hostess checked on our experience and wished us a good evening hoping for us to return.
Overall the staff was very kind, especially the hostess and despite the hiccups with food we will be back.

Sushi and sashimi dishes are average but overpriced. Their wasabi is old and not spicy at all, but they charge $5 for that. The service at the bar was just OK, the bar woman was in so rush to kick you out as soon as you stopped ordering new items. There are fruit flies flying around all the time. This is the last time I eat here.

Overall, one of our favorite places to go. The manager Devon is one of the most passive aggressive people we have dealt with. So it makes us not want to go back. We have enjoyed the food and the service. Devon for the third week has been aggressive towards us Because we complained about something a while back. we’ve been going there every Monday for over a year. We sit at the bar and we enjoy it. They have made space for us even when there has been none. he has just been so aggressive. I am super shocked when you did it again. Saying oh you’re back for your third week. Made me feel really uncomfortable. Once again, the food is amazing. The service and the bartenders are great. It’s one bad piece of sushi that makes it bad.

I've eaten alot of sushie all over the east coast and this place was the worst sushie I've had before there was one roll that tasted good but the one thing I noticed some of the rolls sent out only had 4 pieces or 6 what happened is that from inflation we go so little for how much we paid $100 for 4 rolls that came w maybe 5 pieces each and 3 miso soups felt like a snack I'll never return here the outdoor patio was nice and visiting w family was the best part I wish we had went somewhere else for my birthday dinner

The service was one of the worst. The server seemed disinterested in taking the order and had no clue that one of the ordered dish was not served after considerable amount of time. When brought to notice, the response was bordering arrogance.

Would have liked to be a repeat customer and support the establishment but the service was a complete turn off.

There are better sushi places in Portland/Beaverton area.

Dined for my wife’s birthday. Food was amazing as always! We had our 2 young kids with us. While the restaurant is not kid friendly (no unbreakable or covered cups), they were great with our kids.

My in-laws live walking distance to Bamboo Sushi so I decided to stop by while in town. It was a huge disappointment. Here’s why:

Food Quality: The salmon didn’t taste fresh, had a weird smell, and was an artificial shade of red in color. Even the pricey rolls lacked flavor and creativity. We had over $200 worth of food and the poor quality simply didn't justify the price.

Service: The service was some of the worst in recent memory. Our server seemed clueless and disinterested. The food took ages to arrive, and when it did, items were missing or wrong. No one seemed to care when we pointed it out.

Despite the above, this place was packed at 5:15PM on a Wednesday and busy every time I drive by. They're probably printing money which is why the don't care about the quality of food or service.

There are plenty of better sushi places out there. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Call ahead for outdoor seating.

There are not many Japanese restaurants with such nice outdoor seating, so I was very disappointed that when I asked to sit outside, my request was denied. I can't rate the food since I left, but I learned to make sure the outside area is open before I show up.

It's fine. It's very American, uninspired sushi with a nice decor and a premium price. You know the type. Fairly small location with limited seating. Went for lunch and it was pretty busy. Service was slow and food came out in seemingly random order. If we have a craving again, we will probably do take out, which we saw a lot of...which is actually why service was probably so slow.

Very good food, a little bit on the hipster fusion side but tasty. Excellent service--whenever a dish was ready the next available waiter brought it over so there was no delay.

Only real complaint was table arrangement. We sat on the patio and it was a beautiful day, but out table was smack dab in the middle of the opening into the restaurant, so we periodically had to scoot one way or the other to let someone into or out of the patio.

Only thing I wouldn't recommend is the "crispy rice." We ordered the avocado crispy rice, and it turned out to be a compressed patty of sushi rice, deep-fried, with smashed fresh avocado on top. The rice patty was gummy, not crispy, and a bit stodgy, rather like a MacDonalds hash brown. Needed a thinner patty, salt, and some spicing up.

Love the sushi here but went in this weekend to grab a “quick” drink as my family ordered their dinner from neighboring restaurants. I literally waited over 20 minutes to get a drink that never arrived and ended up leaving due to the horrible service. Truly a bummer because I really enjoy the food, but won’t be returning after being ignored like that.

What a great sushi spot. I used to live in the area and I was back in town to visit my beautiful daughter. She highly recommends this spot and I can see why. It was busy and there was a little wait but it was worth it. The staff is great, the food is great, the atmosphere is great. I’d highly recommend it.

I'm a fan of Bamboo Sushi. The quality of the food is always excellent and I have been going to different locations for years. The problem I have with the Beaverton location is the atmosphere. Something about the cement floors and openness of the restaurant causes it to be insanely loud and difficult to have a conversation without raising your voice. If you don't mind the drive, I would strongly recommend going to another location for the atmosphere alone. The food at the Beaverton location is still top notch and service has always been great - so kudos to the staff!

The food is delicious and our server was really nice. The place is just a bit overpriced for what they serve. I got two veggie based sushi rolls and they were small rolls- so they're serving rice, some seaweed and a vegetable in a small portion & then charging just a little too much for it. I understand if the roll is fish based but otherwise it seems just odd. It's a small place & extremely busy so if you aren't good with crowds this isn't the place for you. With all the chatter & how loud it was they play music over all of that. It would have been nice to have some quieter Japanese music in the background just to give a sense of calm. The rolls were delicious. I will stress that. And the cauliflower plate was lovely. They do work hard there- if you sit at the sushi bar there's a lot to keep your eyes busy.

I love Bamboo Sushi hella, but when I went to the Beaverton location for my second time, we ordered a green machine (which did not have a lot of the beautiful sauce on it) and the cauliflower. I love the cauliflower here but when we went this time it was inedible. It was gooey, mushy, and not crispy at all. Is there a breading shortage, Bamboo? Lol will be back tho this place is too good but BREAD THAT CAULI BROO.

UPDATE: They said the cauliflower will be fixed. I will be adjusting my review to 5 stars, for now, because bamboo is such an amazing spot. HOWEVER, when I come back here (don’t worry it will be in like a year) I will test the cauliflower again and if it is not properly crispy and scrumptious as always, I will be reverting back to my original 3 star review.

This place is an absolute disaster if you're craving authentic sushi. Save yourself the disappointment and steer clear of Bamboo Sushi. The rolls lacked any semblance of flavor, and it's clear they have no clue what authentic sushi should taste like. I suspect anyone who claims to enjoy their sushi here either has never experienced the real deal or has severely compromised taste buds. Not to mention, the sushi didn't even come close to resembling the mouthwatering pictures they advertise. Don't waste your hard-earned money or your precious lunch break on this sorry excuse for sushi.

UPDATE:
We had one of the best customer service experiences here. Before I go into that, the food here is still great and even better because the choices are Gluten Free. Back to the customer service, we were there on February 29th 2024, and our waiter greeted us and let us know that it was her first week waitressing on her own, without someone shadowing her, and she hoped to do well. Half way through our meal, our son accidentally dropped one of his sushi pieces to the ground while trying to eat with chopsticks. He was very upset although mostly keeping it to himself and us. We tried to console him and tried to move on. But our waitress noticed his distress and approached us to ask about it. She kindly offered to get him a few more pieces of sushi, but the staff went even further, they quickly whipped up a new roll for him. We were delighted by this gesture. It is the kind of attentive customer service we all expect but rarely see anymore. If management is reading this, I hope they know who this waitress is and reward her for her value added skills. I'd recommend this place to anyone based on this customer service experience. Nevertheless the food here is still top notch.

PREVIOUS REVIEW:

We ordered food for delivery from their new location on Cedar Mill. Having already physically visited and ordered from their well known location on 26th many times we feel this place has been able to replicate the quality and tastiness of the original location. Where they sorta felt short was on the presentation and packing of our delivery order. We have ordered take out a couple of times from the location on 26th and we’ve always gotten Wasabi/soy sauce with every roll order, chopsticks, and every to-go tray has been decorated just as nicely as if it were served on a plate for the dinning room. This new location missed all those items and we basically got plain to-go trays with our rolls, no wasabi, no soy sauce and no decorations. I’m assuming this is just a miss because they are new and they will get it right next time. So minus 1-star for that but I’ll be re-writing my review if they get it right the next couple of times.

We were back in town and looking to meet some friends. We picked Bamboo, remembering the downtown Portland location being good 5 years ago. Unfortunately, this location did not match the quality of years before.

Though to be fair, the quality is what I would expect from a chain sushi restaurant in the suburbs and that is what Bamboo has become. I will not return

The rolls were super sloppy and tasted ok. Certainly not worth the money. We are probably also spoiled from having an amazing Japanese restaurant near us in SE PDX. We have eaten at other Bamboo locations before but this one is not worth it. The service is terrible, music way too loud and it essentially feels (and tastes) like eating in the food court at the mall.

The service was so slow and delivered the wrong entrees. We also had the food delivered at different times. We mentioned it to the manager and he apologized and said he’d comp one person’s food. Staff most definitely needs some food and beverage training. When the check was delivered he had NOT comped any food ….imagine that. We were looking forward to a nice lunch, but this experience was less than wonderful. Definitely will not be returning.

I love Bamboo Sushi food and was surprised to find one at the sprawl mall in Beaverton, probably a factor of the concept being bought and turned into a chain. The service I received was meh and I ordered a green tea didn't get it until I mentioned it at the end of the meal - it was $5 for a tea bag in hot water! 🤣 For the price, should have been more special and an endless refill supply. Also, should have been gifted for the error. I hate that their to go containers are no longer entirely paper.

My first time dining in was 1/16/2024 after which I proceeded to dream of their green machine roll. After gushing to a friend about what a great experience it was, we made reservations for 1/27/2024.. The hostesses that "welcomed" us were unfriendly and cold. We didn't see them smile a single time and seemed more like we were watching a top model runway. Not the esthetic I personally enjoy or expect in terms of customer service. Food was great again though.

This place is cold right by the entrance, has hard seats, and is crowded. The food was great, and the service was excellent. I loved the order, eat, order, eat, service as the food was served quickly enough to relax. This allowed for a nice chat between the meals while we enjoyed watching the chefs prep the food. The menus are made of a hard plastic, which was annoying to deal with.

Just had the best experience with Mina as our server. She checked and double checked my food allergies against the menu and was super helpful. Kitchen staff is also amazing about allergens.

Love the idea, could do with some improvements. For instance, ordered a cucumber roll, which is vegetarian, and for $8, it's only six very small pieces. I would expect a place committed to sustainability in sea welfare to make the portions larger for their non-seafood based items to encourage that sustainability. Also, very, very limited on cooked seafood items or other sushi that's not raw. I know that sounds confusing, but cooked options would be appreciated for those who can't have raw items. Unique place, could use some added value.

We now live outside of Oregon though have enjoyed many dinners at Bamboo in the past. Tonight we brought our aunt to celebrate a belated Christmas. Before our delicious meal, one of sushi chefs made our son’s day by crafting a bear bowl out of an orange with the orange segments and several pieces of sushi. Every morsel was delicious and we truly appreciated the kindness and generosity of this chef to make a child’s day. Thank you for a wonderful dinner and experience.

My family and I eat sushi a lot and make it at home. If you are used to really fresh buttery cuts of fish, this is not your place. It’s very overpriced for the amount and quality of fish you get. The rainbow roll, for example was 50% avocado on top and the crab salad included a mayonnaise type dressing that overwhelmed the little fish that was there. I’ve been to the bamboo on 23rd and remember it being a lot better than this. Their sustainable practices are not enough for me to return.

I am so disappointed in this place. I thought that since there were so many locations it would be a good place to try. I paid $5 for miso soup in the smallest container that wasn’t even filled up halfway. The sushi rolls themselves are miniature and they do not even come with ginger. This was an absolute waste of money and I will never be ordering from them again.

The server William went out of his way to make our experience memorable with suggestions for food and sake. The miso soup and sunomuno salad were absolutely delicious and the chef's choice nigiri was superb. Definitely a great place to visit for sushi lovers.

I’m used to come regularly now I don’t even want to pay for takeout.

Seated others even though they arrived after us. Weird discrimination by hostess.
Change your timings online to 8pm if you don’t want to seat people even though there’s plenty of open seats.

Worst experience at sushi restaurant in my life!
1) price/ freshness/ portion are not match. Extremely expensive and not worth at all.
We got 3 nigiri 🍣 fish plate (can’t remember the name)
Kaarage and shrimp tempura (it’s not tempura at all) for nearly $90
Nigiri is miniature with no taste of fish. Uni is not fresh once we taste
2) table size is very not okay! It’s not a bar to drinks with peanut bowl.
3) staffs have no experience of Japanese sushi name. Sigh!!!!
Also they come 3 times in 10’mins to ask if the food ok. Well too many times and they need to organise who takes care of which zone.
They don’t see people are talking but interrupted most time.
Also when we said we still eat (2/3 times) , one of the staffs tried to get the plate we said still eating ……

I don’t want to tip because the service is bad and I feel sad for near $90 we spent.
Personally I don’t recommend unless you want to experience expensive and low grade foods.
If the manager replied make sure to improve or return us money. Thanks !

So my first time ordering here. I ordered $50 worth of food.. I sushi five times a week, and I have eaten all over the country. My first roll that I ate tasted only like rice. The second roll. It was the same taste. I could not taste anything but the rice. The fish was so thin and small you could not taste it. The prices are extremely high and you do not get quality sushi. Save your money.

Uncomfortable stools at the sushi bar. Menus are dirty and annoying (folded flimsy plastic that doesn't stay open). Bamboo Dragon & Friday the 13th rolls didn't have much flavor. Basic service but checkout tip starts at 20% lol. We much prefer Shigezo downtown but unfortunately more of a drive.

Green machine is my favorite roll, even as a non vegetarian. Adding salmon to the top is also an option which was also good.

The food was oddly salty. Even the basic sushi rolls had some salty topper, and the soy sauce was saltier than most places. Only exception was the chicken karage, which was delicious. Also, the happy hour menu pricing is misleading. Some drinks that should be covered by happy hour pricing are not, and neither the menu nor the servers mention that. Only at the very end, when it was time to pay the bill, did the server mention "oh sorry, this isn't under happy hour pricing". I didn't care about the $3 enough to waste my time arguing it, but I don't like being misled this way

I ordered 14 rolls and some side dishes for my husband birthday party for 7 people. I couldn’t believe how small these sushis were when I opened the boxes; ridiculously small. I wanted to order more food and they said there is an hour waiting time if I want to get more food. They should name this food sth else cause they are definitely not sushi. We tried many great places in town, but I definitely don’t recommend eating here.

Normally, I love Bamboo Sushi and have ate there several times at the Portland locations and here at Beaverton. This was my first time ordering out. I’ve never seen the rolls this small when in person and I was charged the same amount. $91 for this. Not sure if the restaurant is starting to get stingy but this is not okay. Their sushi is good but that doesn’t make up for the small rolls that are bigger in person for the same price. Not sure if I will go back to this location.

The food was very, very tasty! But it's just not for me.

I am used to sushi places that are good prices and load up on the fish and the additions. Bamboo Sushi is expensive, for less fish, and less food... but it's for an amazing reason! They prioritize sustainable fishing and quality fish over quantity on your plate. My ethics align with this business, but my bank account does not... I wish it did; it would be the only place I go!

For those of us who are used to the less-ethical sushi places, just know your wallet will hurt for the amount of sushi you get here. But gosh, is it TASTY.

Popular place all times of the week. We waited 45 minutes for a table on a Tuesday. All of the tables were full, even outside seating. Well worth the wait. Great service. Exceptionally delicious food and a great saki selection.

Good but not great sushi. I had three different roles and they were good but the big issue is the price. They are probably ~50% more expensive vs. typical places and the quality/taste/portion doesn't make up for this. In fact the portion is smaller. I understand this is upscale sushi with a fancier decore and some better quality but not worth it.

Maybe for 23rd street I understand this but not Beaverton off Cedar Hills. I would consider going here again but several better options are around.

I prefer a smaller, more intimate setting for sushi. Being in a strip mall, the Cedar Hills location was a little sterile. The sushi was nice. They had some interesting rolls, and their tempura was good! But with nigiri, I don’t want them to add sauces and other garnishes! I want the fish to stand on its own. I can’t speak for other bamboo locations but this one was just okay.

I had a blast. I'm allergic to shellfish and they told the cooks right away. I really appreciate that. It was my sister's birthday and it was awesome. Kudos to everyone there. The Green Machine is bomb. That's not it in the pic
