Probably the most overpriced restaurant in Columbus. Service is just OK. I’ll put it into perspective; a Jones Soda is $9. Tuna roll is $22 and it’s ok. It’s comparable to Whole Foods Sushi. I honestly don’t know how restaurants like this stay in business; because the food is so high priced and just mediocre. There are much much better food options at Easton. We were hoping this place would change our minds, as we visited once before, and thought the same exact thing…well it didn’t. We won’t give them another chance unfortunately.

I’ve been to Kona Grill at Easton several times and I loved the food I ordered. Today, I tried the French Dip and I was disappointed. It really lacked flavor. The meat was super tender but I personally felt like the horseradish needed a little more kick, the cheese needed more flavor, or the au jus needed more flavor. I will say the calamari was amazing as usual.

Food was not cooked well and poor quality. Lettuce was wilted in shrimp and chicken lettuce wraps and mix was mostly carrots for the wrap. Eggs were hard boiled on 2 orders of eggs benedict and there was no hollandaise sauce. Kraft single on steakhouse burger and both patties were burnt. Rice in poke bowl was in sheets which was probably rice used for sushi rolls. Mac and cheese in kids meal looked dry and stale. Extremely pricey dishes for low quality food and cooking.

First night here in Columbus and this was a perfect choice to have dinner with my dad he usually has an appetizer for his meal and he had the chicken sautee and loved it. I had the sea bass with bok choy and ate it all. So much flavor and cooked perfectly. Our waitress was kind and gave us time to look at the menu. Food was prompt and the atmosphere inside was beautiful. i will be back with my husband.

I love Kona Grill the food menu is simple which gives me the ability to decide what to order what I really want. The atmosphere is always nice! I remember when they first opened and closed the business I was entirely sad. But when they reopened their business again I was so happy! hopefully they will stay open forever! So unfortunately this was a disaster. We arrived at 6:30. We were a party of 21. Granted, that’s a lot of people. But you know ahead of time this many people will be arriving. We had 16 adults and 4 children. The wait for the food was 2 1/2 hours BEFORE appetizers arrived. Then, they arrived sporadically. Three hours and still not one entree for an entire table. No apologies or managers making an appearance until my nephew went and spoke TWICE. How unfortunate. The food I did finally get was cold and the other sushi roll I ordered sat at the bar, never to be served. We got up and left.

I had a brunch with my friends on Sunday 11/17 and the service was not so great. The wait for food was over an hour, however they gave us a free round of drinks but to not update us or check on us, was not good customer service. For this to be my first experience there, was not fun and on top of that one of the hostess came and aggressively told my friend not to place dishes on another table. We waited so long for our food and then when we needed more room and couldn’t find help, my friend did place our plates on the table that was not being used. I respect rules and can follow them but to come off so aggressive, with hand movements and unprofessionalism was uncalled for, especially when we were still being nice after all. Loved the food and the nice decorations inside but I never want to wait on food for over an hour and not receive an update or anything.

Kona Grill steep prices, food not good! No one in our party was able to eat the sausage too “HOT” menu described sausages as maple said nothing about being spicy plus they weren’t fully cooked. 5 people in our party ordered the breakfast we asked our server if we could substitute the muffin for pancake she said she wasn’t sure but, she went & asked manager came back & said he said yes but when I got home opened my email with my receipt we were charged for pancakes! Waited hour & half for our food if I hadn’t had seniors & handicapped people in my party I would’ve gotten up & left long ago! Manager did not compensate! Because it took so long for food I had no appetite to eat my fish & chips & house salad so our server gave me a container but upon leaving I was bumped & my entire dinner ended up on the floor Manger saw it but didn’t even offer to replace it or a refund! We just left upon exiting once outside was greeted by another group that had same complaint! Manager asked how was everything we told him his response was he’s sorry but they were shorthanded which, if he would’ve let us know that on front side to give us the option as to weather we wanted to stay or leave! It even took a half hour for the starter cinnamon bun, which is the only thing he did compensate us for $18. My tab was $360.66 left $66.34 for server she tried very hard & was very polite but appeared she was overloaded wasn’t her fault should’ve had more servers!

We put off going here because I thought it was mostly sushi rolls. However we found there are plenty of other great options. I ordered the chicken and shrimp lettuce wraps. I will say the presentation was different than what I expected. It came all chopped up in a sort of ragu look. I was curious to try and glad I did, it was delicious!! Forgot to get a pic though 🙃. Hubby had the French dip, it came on a toasted ciabatta bread with a thick au just and creamy horseradish and he loved it as well! And he can be a bit picky on those. Server did tell us ahead that it is a little fatty, but he said it was great and would definitely order again! Very casual, relaxed environment. Mimosas looked great and had several seasonal choices too! Will visit again for sure!

Menu looked good so we tried it. GET THE CLAM CHOWDER. It's by far the best interpretation I've had. I had the salmon and fried rice, salmon was slightly more done than I usually like but it was still good, my friend had the chicken, it was cooked perfectly and not dry. Service was a little disappointing. Waiter forgot my friends coke, he seemed more interested in watching the game at the bar than helping us. Finally got refills and the coke and he seemed more attentive after a meeting with (maybe the owner) the manager.

Our waitress was a little off Saturday night. We were a party of 7. She missed taking one of our orders. She was slow brining out "in addition to " items such as cinnamon. Despite the areas where the waitress was lacking, the manager was great! She answered all of our questions and picked up the slack left by our waitress. I forgot the manager's name, but she's only been there for a few weeks. The bartender was a little rude to someone in our party, but again the manager saved the day. The manager didn't discount our receipts, but she saved the day by doing her job, the bar tender's job, and the waitress. We didn't even complain. Thank you Ms. Manager.

We went just for dessert because their carrot cake is delicious. The portion size fits the price, trust me!

UPDATE: If I could I would give ZERO stars for wasting my time and money. Apparently replies are set to automatically respond and here I was thinking Kona Grill was going to make things right! Shame on me. Mediocre customer service is not even an option when visiting this establishment.

1-Star for not following through and rectifying a DISGUSTING situation! I would’ve given 4 stars if they would’ve righted the wrong (1 for the food and 3 for service)
Imagine walking around for 30 minutes trying to find somewhere to eat while out with friends, you spot a restaurant you’ve been wanting to try! You place a to-go order, wait 30+ minutes, get your food and leave. You’re soo excited to try this food you’ve heard such great reviews about. You try a little bit of everything and then you bite into a potsticker and feel something in your mouth that ain’t food! You pull a long strand of something out of your mouth and to your dismay, it’s a piece of long hair! Instant nauseating experience to pull a piece of hair out of your mouth! Immediate loss of appetite. The situation and experience was only made worse when the restaurant manager apologized and stated “the hair must’ve happened at the factory” bc they don’t make the potstickers in house! Adding insult to injury, after requesting a refund, a week later I receive a refund for $6… my meal was $45. As I explained to the manager my entire meal went in the trash after I bit into a potsticker with hair! I follow up again, and expressed how I expected to receive a refund for my entire meal, again the manager apologized and agreed. He requested my card and receipt info no refund, 2 weeks later no refund.
This was my FRUSTRATING experience! So eat at Kona Grill at your own risk and know the expensive food you are paying for isn’t “fresh,” made in a factory, and subject to foreign objects in your food.

We reserved a table on Open Table and arrived early. We were seated by a very large group when most of the restaurant was empty. Our server came over after about ten minutes and sat a mobil credit card kiosk at our table and just said they would be back in a second. We waited for a short while and they came back to get our drink orders. We ordered some small plates to split: cheeseburger sliders, lobster mac and cheese, and the wave sushi roll. Asked for things to come out as they were ready. Sushi came first, we finished quickly, and the rest of the food came out after about 30-45min and was cold. The lobster mac and cheese had barely melted cheese on top and the lobster was not fresh. The sliders were decent but the fries were not fresh and were cold. When we were done the waitress took another 30 minutes or so to bring the check. The atmosphere felt like we were at a nightclub but from the 80s and cheap with the blue light and Hobby Lobby flower arrangements on the tables. Way overpriced for the qualified food (nothing made from scratch) and dining experience. We have been to another Kona in Bridge Park years back that was a completely different and better experience. Will not be going back.

I’ve been here before and never experienced the terrible service I did last night. Probably because I’ve sat at a table and last night I sat at the bar. The bartender barely acknowledged me when I sat just kept walking past me. I order a margarita and water, never received the water. Then he wouldn’t ask us if we were ready to order so after waiting a while we decided to tell him we were ready he told us to wait. When the food came he didn’t ask if we needed anything wouldn’t speak to us at all during our entire visit. I asked another server for sauce and when we were ready to go a new bartender came and I asked for my water, and it was brought to me promptly. Brandyn was unpleasant and rude, he definitely didn’t care about the customers. We (my friend and myself) were the only people at the bar for a long while so there was no reason we weren’t been waited on and having extremely long waits for drinks and service. Then two ladies sat down as we were paying and they told us how they were confused why the service was bad because no one was acknowledging them either. Honestly for a restaurant that wants to be semi upscale and with the menu prices, this service is unacceptable. Retrain immediately or I can’t imagine customers wanting to return to your bar top for an experience worse than McDonald’s.

I decided to give them another shot and I am so happy that I did. My server was so polite and helped Me pick out a really great meal! If you ever go by there, ask for John. I came here on Labor Day with my boyfriend for my birthday! Our server Kyle was kind and attentive, he had wonderful recommendations. Saturday we had a 6:45 dinner reservation for my daughters 18th birthday first glance the ambience was so beautiful the hostess were very nice and seated us right away . Now let’s talk about the service when I mean to tell you are waiter was the Bomb I can’t remember her name but she know who she is ❤️. She made my baby’s girl birthday so amazing she was very nice went over the menu since it was are first time there. Ask if it was ok to get my smaller child her meal first and having a little kid and have been to many restaurants that was a first and we were very grateful. The kids meals are so freaking cute . They were all tasty, the tiny burgers had a certain je ne sais quoi, which definitely caught my attention.

Our group of friends was here this last Friday to celebrate our friends 30th birthday. To say we were completely satisfied was an understatement. None of us had been here in roughly 10ish years- apparently they got new owners and completely renovated the look and vibe. Our server Breonn was nothing but AMAZING. We had a party of 8 and he never missed a beat (even with all of our annoying requests during happy hour). He was so respectful and polite- he deserves any and all recognition that we can give him. birthday friend's food was wrong and needed to be taken back and it was so slow to come out that everyone had finished their food.

His steak was overcooked and tough after such a long wait. Server was sweet & did her best to make it right despite things going wrong.

Extremely disappointed and should've just went to cheesecake factory (we did right after. lol)

I don’t normally post negatively in reviews, but I really didn’t have a choice here. Made a reservation for two, and specified it was for our anniversary. We were seated at a table that was essentially in the server stand, which wasn’t a great vibe, but we were gonna make it work. However, after noting that the situation wasn’t what we were looking for on our anniversary, we noticed that we were still waiting to be approached by a server. Now, I’ve worked in food service and customer service, I am quite patient in these situations. However, the restaurant was not overly busy and I would say they were overstaffed if anything. We decided if we went 10 minutes without being approached, we would leave. Needless to say I can’t comment on the food because we ate elsewhere. Just a really surprising situation and I am confident we made the right decision.

I recordered the Tacos telling them to make them not spicy and the second order was as spicy as the first order. I was disappointed I could not eat the main course. I came to Kona Grill for the first time on 7/24 after being recommended by my sister. I was very excited to go and check out a new spot for dinner and was very pleased with the overall ambiance of Kona. However, I had a few issues. It was restaurant week and the deals were really great—I got the 3 course option.
After explicitly telling the wait staff of my dietary restrictions (vegetarian) and being told that accommodations will be made, my first course came out and I noticed bacon in the salad halfway through. I notified wait staff and he was very kind and apologetic. He removed the dish, offering to bring a new dish, to which I declined because I was disgusted. The second course came out and, again, halfway through, noticed that there was chicken mixed in with the tofu. Again, I notified wait staff, but at that point, I was very upset and when he brought back my replacement dish, I had no appetite and did not want to eat. While this might not seem like a big deal to someone else, I am very proud of my accomplishment and have been vegetarian for 10 years and have never encountered such inconsideration from a restaurant to not once, but twice, fail to meet dietary restrictions that were made very clear. The fact that this brought me to tears in the middle of a celebratory dinner speaks for itself. I do not recommend ANY vegetarian or anyone with dietary restrictions to visit this place. Truly disappointed.

Service was poor for the first half of our time there, ok for the second half after we had to flag our waiter down to come back. He was nice, but he and other staff were just standing at the desk talking for a significant amount of time while we were still waiting for our appetizer (which came out shortly after we flagged him down, so it was probably sitting back there waiting for him to take it) and also needed water refills. They were pretty much just hanging out instead of working in full view of the entire restaurant.

Food was decent but incredibly overpriced. $20 for six potstickers is appetizer highway robbery!

Also, the restaurant was almost empty but the appetizers and meals were still very slow to come out.

One good note is they were considerate of food allergies, but really all restaurants should be doing that anyway so that’s not affecting the rating I’m putting here. I appreciated it, though.
