It's good as usual, but the server doesn't let us know what they don't have for hot pot...we order so much that it was all mixed together. We have to pass food back and forth.
We had a party of 9 people and they couldn't give us the party room because the lady told us that there might be big parties the day before Christmas Eve..surprisingly no big parties came in after 6:15pm. We talked very loudly throughout the time we were there for our secret Santa and white elephant event. It's very hard to find our server to get water...they might have been short handed.

This is hands down our favorite local restaurant! The service is always great and the food is always fresh & delicious! We’ve been coming to this Brooklyn location for years and have never had a negative experience. Jay & Vivian are two of our favorites that work there and their customer service is top notch and they are always friendly and accommodating. I have my big birthday party dinner there every year and my friends love this place!! Keep up the good work team Kintaro!! If you’re looking for a good food & customer service at an extremely affordable price, this is the place to go!!

The service here was great. We were seated quickly even though it was very busy. The food was very good, we were a little worried it might be more like "buffet" style sushi but it wasn't at all. Everything was prepared well and delicious. They have enough menu options that even someone who didn't like sushi could find something to eat on the menu. I highly recommend this place, be sure to come hungry.

Go here go here go here. Very authentic Japanese restaurant here. I’ve already left a review of the one in Westgate, and this one is the exact same. Phenomenal service, you aren’t treated like you’re a robot or anything, the food is ALWAYS amazing and very hot, portion sizes are huge, and pricing is very fair. Love this place, I literally come here all the time and so should you.

Honestly, I have a lot of fun coming here! It is definitely no “high end hot pot” from a more Asian populated city like New York or Toronto, but, I don’t think the taste of anything here is bad. It tastes just like hot pot you would have at home. Same with the sushi. I’m giving it 3 stars on food just because the food is not anything mind blowing. But for the price and the fact that it’s ayce both hot pot and sushi, I would come back here again and again over other hot pot places in Cleveland, and that is why overall, Kintaro is a 4 star for me.

Came here once for a hot pot dinner. We reserved the party room ahead of time, which had enough seats for a party size of 16 with a couple of primary stovetops and individual soup stoves for all members to have their own hot pot. Feasting came with a boat of sushi, multiple platers of fresh beef, fish, and much more. Everyone had their beverages of their choice and fully satisfied towards the end. The restaurant also has a bar and a selection of sauces mix of your choice. All in all, great place to have family and / or friends gathering or simply enjoying a nice bite of lunch/dinner. Highly recommended for those near, passing by Brooklyn, or just those who enjoy sushi, hot pot, Korean barbecue, or combination of all three.

I went to kintaro for the first time, and the hotpot and sushi were absolutely delicious. I was aware of their no to-go policy on the food, but I wanted to ask my waitress to see if it was possible to take it home anyways. I pointed to both the sushi I ordered and the hot pot, and I asked if there was a way I could take it home. She said yes, but there would be a fee for it, and I was fine with it. The waitress specifically told me that she would simply charge me 6 dollars as the fee for BOTH the sushi and the hot pot in order to take it home. She told me, no problem, I will cover the additional fee for what I would have paid for wanting to take both home and we agreed on just 6 dollars to take home both the hotpot and the sushi. When we got to the point of paying the bill, despite the fact that I very specifically asked for both hotpot and sushi (and I was more than willing to pay a to-go fee for both), but she made it very clear she wanted to be nice and only would charge me the 6 dollars FOR BOTH MEALS. As soon as I paid the bill, I asked her for a to-go box for the hotpot since we agreed on only one fee. However, after paying, she told me that she couldn't give me a box for the hotpot because she would need to charge me for it. We literally talked about it before paying the bill and I literally had no problem paying a fee for both meals. But SHE was the one who said one fee for both was enough! It infuriates me to be lied to my face after I communicated very clearly what I wanted. I had no problem paying the extra fee, and I thought when she said only 6 dollars that she was just trying to be nice and provide good service. The food was delicious like I said, but the service was absolutely terrible. Never in my life have I ever had a server lie to my face like that. I will definitely go to a kintaro restaurant again, but there's no way I will go back to this location.

Excellent all you can eat sushi. Fish seems to be good quality, staff were helpful and friendly, overall a very good experience. Rolls were tightly rolled and were zcellently made.

I suggest focusing on sushi when ordering, the side are decent but not amazing. The tempura is pretty good.

Today we were seated in the separate room: around 10 adults and four kids. To make it easier, we placed the entire order on one sheet of paper. After we placed the order, about half of the order was brought out. Of the 13 soups, only 2 showed up. For the remainder of the order, we had to wait for more than an hour.
Only after we spoke with manager that in 10 minutes, they brought another half order. Even after that, they did not bring what we ordered. I think they just try to bring less. Because you anyway have to pay full price. The sushi was good, but the service was bad.
They know Sunday is a busy day so they should have had more people to serve customers.
We don’t plan on coming back.

The food is always delicious here but the server is always rude to us every time we visit. Vivian always makes comments about how much we mark off on our menu to order (we’ve NEVER WASTED anything before) but it’s every time we’ve come in, and I don’t think it’s her place to comment on. I asked for a lemon water with my food and she gave me water, so I asked for the lemon and she told me “well there’s a table right there you can go get it”.. she will purposely forget things that we’ve marked off on our menu because she thinks we’ve order too much stuff. I don’t think she has the right to judge what I should eat or what I can eat. She makes these comments throughout the entire night and then when she gets tipped terribly, she will say something to you about how you should tip her more.

Food was bland. Portion sizes are small. If you do not finish everything you order they will charge you a fee if you want a to go box take home the rest. Great all-you-can-eat sushi spot in Cleveland. The rolls are made to order and fresh when they come out. They give you a sheet to mark the items, including rolls, sashimi, nigiri, etc., you’d like to order each round. You MUST finish everything you order or pay $12/lb for what’s leftover. You cannot take it with you. Keep those things in mind when ordering your third or more rounds.

...The register guy was nice, but they 100% make their 'smoothies' with some weird red & yellow syrup from behind the bar. I paid around $11 for 2 of them & politely returned my tip money to my wallet. I gave one of the contaminated cups to a Wingstop employee and threw the other one in the trash can in front of Wingstop.
I will admit I took a sip of one just to boost my immune system, because he absolutely did not wash his hands before he began.
FRESH FRUIT WHERE?!
I would have made him refund my money, but I have anger issues so that would not have ended well.

These are worse than store bought sushi. I ordered 4 different sets. And the all tasted really bad. Old, no flavor. Even soy sauce tasted really bad.
Maybe the rest of the food taste good in this restaurant- but not sushi. Do not recommend!

The server couldn't get our orders straight. There were 6 of us. I just ordered sashimi which doesn't take much preparation. Just plain pieces of fish. Everyone who ordered hibachi or sushi got served 20 minutes before me while I sat there starving. I finally went looking for her to find out why I wasn't served. I would go again with only a few people. She might have just overlooked my order. hoping I get better service next time, and with a different server. I want to start out saying I really enjoyed my visit here today. Few small qualms but I realize that is more to me specifically than the general population.

I got the unlimited hot pot and some of us got unlimited sushi. The sushi looked fantastic but I didn't try any myself.

The hot pot was way more than any of us expected. As with many restaurants like this, keep in mind if you waste too much food you will get an extra charge. That's pretty standard. Anyway, ordered hot pot with everything in it that I wanted. When the plate of food came out for me I was scared. There was so much food on it. The order was taken for me and me alone but there was easily 2 to 3 peoples worth of food on this plate. Granted I ordered like 9 ingredients. But there was so much.
My fiance was worried that she couldnt even eat her 4 ingredients.

The menu was extensive. They have many options for all kinds of things you might want. The food itself was good, it wasn't the most fancy and highest quality, but it was still pretty good. Some things didn't stand out very well and were kind of bland, while others popped well. But remember I boiled my food in a soup.

The drinks were great as well. Nothing to really say about them.

Our server was excellent, she explained very well to us how it worked and what to do since none of us had been there. And she was very attentive and not overbearing.

As far as the atmosphere goes. It was very clean and comfortable, but it was very cold. The AC was very strong. If you run hot you'll love it, but if you run cold, bring a sweater.

Overall, you will get your money's worth if you order all you can eat hot pot. And likely the same with the sushi. But if you have a small stomach be warned, because of the potential of that waste charge! Staff is very friendly and the restaurant is clean and comfortable.

The atmosphere wasn't the best but the food and our server Judy were great. The $27 for dinner included appetizers, a hot pot (make your own soup at the table) which I recommend, and sushi. My time here and it was really good. I liked the variety of food they offered. I didn't like the Miso soup. It was creamy and didn't taste good. The lettuce in the salad was not cut up small and was hard to eat. The ginger dressing did not have much flavor. Our waiter was very attentive as we had 6 in our group. We will diffently be back.

The service was absolutely amazing and seemed as if they were genuinely interested in you having a good dinner. however, the amount of rules they had for their food was a bit ridiculous in my opinion and as someone who was a first timer was very stressed out in making decisions when they kept breathing down my neck trying to get me to order.

Many times, this is my family's go-to gathering place. As they have all-you-can-eat sushi and all-you-can-eat hot pot, it has something for all my family members. They do get busy for dinner, so sometimes their drink refills can lag, but since we have worked in restaurants before, we understand and don't get impatient - we get our own water refills. Their location is good, as it is close to the highway and lots of good stores to walk after eating so much. They do not accept reservations, so it is a first come, first serve, but we have not waited longer than 30 minutes for a table, even during their busy times.

Been dying for some AYCE sushi, and this place definitely hit the spot.
A few things of note:
This is not a buffet. You order like a regular restaurant. Pro: everything you get is made to order and fresh. Con: you have to eat a whole roll of what you order. I like eating a bunch of different things, so this would have been a bit of a drawback, except for the fact that the rolls I got were SO good that I could have eaten two of them. That and the fact that I was starving when I got there and was able to polish off like 5 rolls on top of the apps.
If you order something you have to eat all of it. If you leave a bunch, they'll box it up to go and charge you $12/#. That's not a threat to me though. After I was stuffed, I almost ordered a few more rolls just so they'd box them up for me. $12/# for fresh sushi doesn't seem like that bad a deal.
Your best bet is to go with a couple other people so you can split stuff and help each other out and try way more items.

Will definitely be going back.

I love the manager, he's super considerate. However, the Sushi has diminished in quality, we have been coming here for 3 years. Went yesterday after i picked up a friend from the airport, Sushi sizes were too big, Sushi came to my table low temp, Sashimi was cool not cold. I lost my appetite after i had a piece of sushi in my mouth & all i had was rubber flesh. I almost vomited, i could not eat anymore $ i had to pay $5 for a to go container to not "waste" my food. The quality i received was not worth 27.99 a person for dinner. This was my favorite place for "date night" sushi, now i am reluctant to come back.

The ambiance of the place is nice and clean. Nice decoration and music. I chose the "all day" sushi menu of course you can eat all the sushi you want but only for 2 hours, and drinks are not included just so you know. But some of the sushi was good. Not excellent as in other restaurants that specialize in this type of food, but it is passable.

Words cannot describe the terrible experience I had with my family at the Brooklyn location. Stopped in with another family that spoke highly of the restaurant. Started off good. First order was mostly kid food as we had 4 children under 5 with us. 2nd order took well over 40 minutes to get and we had to go find someone to ask about our food. Also went 40 minutes with no water refills. And that means every glass was empty for 40 minutes. Only got refills after asking. Our waitress was running every direction and trying which we understood. We didn’t want to take it out on her so we asked to talk to the manager. His name was Jay. He came out and only said sorry we are busy. We told him we understood, but that is no reason to go without drinks for 40 minutes in the middle of the meal. He refused to address the issue and instead told me to look around and see that they are busy and we just have to deal with it. I told him that was unacceptable and he just shrugged and told me I had to pay because he had work to do and couldn’t talk to me anymore. I asked for corporate number he told me there was none. I asked for general manager and was told there wasn’t one. I asked him if he built this establishment from the ground up and owned it. He said no. I asked for the owners info. He refused to provide it. Told me I could leave my info. I asked if I would get a call back and he said he didn’t know, he hoped so. Then told my wife the managers name was Jeff and he doesn’t work much because he’s the boss. All I asked was for them to take the gratuity off because I wanted to tip our waitress in cash because I didn’t want to punish her for the manager not accepting responsibility. He refused. I wanted to make sure she got the full tip, he said she would get all the gratuity. Then told my wife she only gets 10% of the 15% charged. As we were walking out, he stopped our waitress, started yelling at her on the lobby floor and made her cry. It wasn’t her fault at all. Manager refused to help her and then would not try to rectify our concerns. Food was good, but by the time the second wave of food came, the kids were done and we had sat so long that we didn’t feel like staying any longer. Very disappointed. Our friends were embarrassed because they spoke highly of the place and had not had a bad experience . However, they may not return atleast to the Brooklyn location. Manager took no responsibility, blamed it on the server and told me to deal with it. I wanted the gratuity taken off so I could tip the waitress more because she really was trying and I wanted the full amount to go to her. Hope the 5% gratuity that the restaurant took was worth losing customers for life.

I came here with some friends and upon arrival the staff was rude. We said we have never been a they didn't go over anything with us, just said pick a menu. Once we sat down we were confused about the difference in menus, how the all you can eat worked etc. When we asked for some guidance he said "you write down what you want and we bring it. But you have to finish everything or else you get charged". Eventually, We all decided on our meals and when bringing them out the waiter began to tell us what the rolls were so they could go to the correct people and then said "you guys all ordered the same thing" and put it in the middle of the table and started to walk away. Yes, we all got 1 roll the same but we all also tried different ones. He almost seemed annoyed that there was multiple of the same roll.
About 45 minutes into our meal he came over and asked if we were done eating. We were chatting, catching up as people do when they go out for dinner and he looked at us and said "you need to finish eating" and proceeded to take a few steps away and stare at us from another part of the restaurant. It was very odd and no other patrons in the establishment were being treated that way. Needless to say, we will not be returning. It's unfortunate because the food is good, but service plays a huge part. The staff here needs to be trained on how to treat EVERYONE (race, age, gender etc.) the same because it's very obvious they pick and choose who they treat well.

Great food, but it's a little too congested in the seating department. Also, I would not recommend bringing kids because 1.) The tables themselves are rather high and 2.) They supply high chairs, but there isn't any room for them depending on where you're seated.

I go here at least once or twice a month and pick up to take home. It's always very fresh and a good portion for the money that you pay. For some reason this last time that I ordered, they forgot my wasabi and Ginger. That's never happened before and I hope it doesn't happen again. As they all go together! LOL. Our first time trying hot pot. T’was my daughter’s 15 birthday and she requested to try hot pot. Found Kintaro with great reviews… so off we went with the family, including younger siblings and grandma. Not sure if I’m just not used to today’s all-you-can-eat (AYCE) prices, but had a bit of a sticker shock with $28. Ok… so we decided that AYCE would be silly for grandma and little siblings - they don’t eat much at all, so 3 of us would get AYCE and 3 would order from the regular menu. Food was great, so I can understand the high marks, but the experience was very stressful! Because of the fact that we all didn’t get AYCE, we were reminded again and again by our server that:

1. We cannot share our food with the non-AYCE eaters. If they “see us” doing so, then everyone will be charged the AYCE prices. I cannot count how many times she told us this as we placed our individual orders.
2. For the AYCE eaters, don’t order too much because if you don’t finish, they “will charge extra!”

It felt like she kept coming back frequently to look if we were sharing, BUT… didn’t bother to refill our drinks until asked. I wouldn’t recommend going unless everyone orders AYCE or everyone orders from the regular menu. Too stressful!

First time at this place we were new to this the waitress asked and we said yes so she just told us basically to check off what we wanted and said the hibachi wasn’t large sized ok? So we ordered myself and two other people and was a lot of food was pretty good but the service is horrible no refills and not until we were ready to go she tells us we are charged for what we didn’t finish! Like why didn’t she tell us this?! And could have helped us out more with ordering terrible attitude then we split the bill 10 tip for half then 5 on other she chased us down to tell us next time be more generous and tip more!!! First time ever going and took my mom and sister out for sushi so we did the unlimited for 27.99 a person . So we ordered a good amount and wasn’t told we would have to pay for what we didn’t eat . Lucky it wasn’t too much but it would have been nice to know before we ordered after stating we never been here before . Then as we are leaving ! The waitress had the audacity to stop me in my tracks of leaving saying I didn’t leave enough tip . When the minimum amount was 9 something and we gave her 15 . For an attitude ? No thank you . Very rude will not return !
