Kabuto Lake Norman is located at exit 25 off of I-77 across from Birkdale. We pride ourselves in serving Angus Beef and all natural chicken and seafood. We have 14 hibachi grills to allow seating of large parties, perfect for all occasions and celebrations. We do not use peanut product in our establishment, proudly serve gluten free and cater to other food sensitivities request.
Ouch. Just waisted over $100 on this... Service is bad. We waited for our drinks forever. Then the orders were taken and my piece of steak never made it to the cooking table. Chicken was too dry. Vegetables were served at the very last... Who would want to eat them the very end? Service sucked and there was a piece hair in the soup. Beside that after dinner all your clothes will smell like you worked at the community cafeteria. Will not be back even if they pay for my dinner. Thank you

We haven’t been to Kabuto in so many years, I’m not sure why bc it’s just down the road. Went tonight for my son’s 9th birthday dinner (his request). Can I tell you I was pleasantly surprised! Amazing mixed drinks (Red Lotus is a must)! Awesome service, great food and vibe. Owner was amazing, checked on us more than once. Brought us a drink on the house. Will definitely visit again and I hope they keep up the awesome work for us!! Kudos!

Our experience was very blah this time. We visit here for kids birthdays, they love watching the chef cook. Our chef this time was AMAZING, but everything else was not! He got the 3 star not the other staff!
Menu is very hard to understand the prices. And the manger was very rude upon asking about it.
The floor was a mess and they only had two chefs rotating through. Not busy enough for that to been the excuse.
The chicken was weird tasting and not normal texture. Do not know if it was cheap quality, lab grown, or older than should be. None of my family members ate it or enjoyed it.
On top of the extra $5-6 a plate for it.
I did not feel like I got $100 worth of food or experience and will not be going back to this location again. Too many other great restaurants in the area for this quality service and food.

We had reservations at 7 for 9 ppl. We weren't seated until 730, we didn't get drinks or service until about 745, got soup and salad before drinks, not even water. We left there at 930. The chef didn't come out until about 830, he was amazing though and very pleasant. The food was good. It was clear they were under staffed and over booked. The servers were very annoyed from the start. Felt bad for them, very unorganized but they pulled it off just took longer.

I will not visit this location again, as we had several people visiting from out of town, and had our hearts set on this today. We were very disappointed due to the fact that we had a confirmed reservation for 12:15, the web site shows that they are open for lunch on Sundays from 12-2:30, as well as a message on their answering service confirming that they are open from 12-2:30. Not only that, but there is an 8 foot banner out front saying they serve brunch on Sundays.
When I called to speak to them after the fact, they said it was a Google issue. I might be able to overlook the fact that they stated that it was an issue with Google, but their website sent me to the Google reservation service. This is a very poor excuse.

The food was amazing!!! The chef was kind and accommodating to the others at our table the drinks were awesome my only issue here was the added tip to my bill when it’s not disclosed anywhere and we had already tipped in cash but they took it off our bill. The service was a little slow for this place being so empty but we still had an amazing time

Trust the bad reviews. I really wanted to like this place, it's the only hibachi close by but it was a horrible experience.
We got there at 7 pm on a Thursday and the parking lot was empty. There was a couple in the otherwise empty restaurant. We were seated after 5 minutes at an empty table and a party of 13 walked in behind us.
We were served clear soup when we say down before they asked us anything. Ordered an unsweet tea and water and asked for the hibachi shrimp and shrimp/steak combo.
Ginger salad came out immediately. It was fine, a bit stale but okay. We asked for chopsticks and the server said okay. We sat there for the next 15 minutes. No chef, no refills, no chopsticks.
The chef arrived as we were getting up to walk out the door. He rushed through the entire service, did one trick, and left then came back because he had to do the volcano. While he was cooking we asked the server for refills and chopsticks.
The food was disgusting. Very, very oily and badly cooked. The shrimp sauce is sweeter than normal and the vegetables were undercooked. The steak, ordered medium, was well done.
The server came back to drop off the check and we asked for refills and chopsticks. We finally got them as we packed our food to throw away at home.
On a positive note, they have a serving robot, so maybe things will get better?

When we arrived at the restaurant no one was at the host stand until the older manager walked out of the kitchen, we asked him about the wait time for a table for three. He told us it would be 45 minutes, even though the entire restaurant was empty except for one family of six. Just 10 minutes later, he came back and said, ‘OK, I guess you guys can go now.’ Once we sat down, we were rushed to order, even though it was only about 7:30 and the restaurant didn’t close until 10 p.m. and wasn’t busy at all.
The highlight of our visit was the show. The Chef was the most pleasant part of the whole experience. However, right after the show ended, a staff member brought out the check as if to hurry us along. We were planning to sit and enjoy our meal, and potentially order dessert , so it felt abrupt and unwelcoming. Despite having almost no other customers after the family left, the staff continued to check on us in a way that suggested they were eager for us to leave. It was surprising and disappointing to feel rushed in an empty restaurant.

We chose this place for my Niece's 10th Birthday dinner. We were seated promptly at our reservation time and the entire meal from start to finish was amazing. Our Chef who cooked for us was one of the best I have ever seen. He kept us all laughing and entertained the entire time. He engaged with all 3 kids and my Son even asked him what days he worked so we could come back and get him as our Chef again. Thank you again for making a memorable night for all of us!

Takeout food order not complete. Called back and told them. They stated take out menu does not come with soup, even though menu says it does. The reason given "we don't have the containers for takeout soup." I told them that that was wrong and got hung up on. Service terrible and food was salty and not worth the cost. Consider yourselves warned people.

False advertising. Take out says dinner set up includes soup. Did not get soup and told we don’t have containers for takeout soup. So they advertise on menu something they fully acknowledge they do not give you. Customer service absolutely terrible. They hung up on us. 65.00 dollars to keep people like this in business. Nope! All done!

Took a group of 18 for my granddaughter’s birthday. When the reservation was made, we were assured that our large group was “no problem”. We were seated 45 minutes late - not totally unexpected, but problematic as we had young children in our group. We were seated together at one of the large “U” shaped tables which have two grills - one on each side of the “U”. We were assigned only ONE chef however. He proceeded to cook for his half of the table as the rest of us sat and watched. After the first half had been served and had neerly finished eating, a second chef finally showed up for the rest of us. Since they were clearly way off schedule, the second chef skipped most of the “fun” cooking stuff and went straight to preparing meals - much to the displeasure of many of the kids attending. Totally ridiculous experience with mediocre food and with no apology or regret whatsoever on the part of the restaurant - never again will we even consider this establishment.

DO NOT GO. I normally don’t leave reviews but this called for one. My boyfriend and I had reservations at 7 and didn’t get seated until 7:30. Then 30 minutes went by until the waitress decided to come take our drink orders with no water on the table or anything. My boyfriend got a sweet tea that was terrible. I got a Diet Coke and they brought a Coke. I then asked for a Diet Coke and told her it was Coke and she insisted “you can’t taste the difference” i then said “can I please just get a Diet Coke” and she wasn’t apologetic at all. We then waited 20 more minutes and didn’t get our food. We decided at that point to just get up and leave. Terrible.

Worst Service Ever!
Food was pretty good and the cooks were great! The Service was Horrible and that's being nice!.. It was over 20 minutes getting drinks after being seated then Everyone's drink at our table was empty and we had to Complain Numerous times before they were refilled. No organization, no urgency, no effort! It wasn't a shortage of help, there was numerous employees there just not doing anything. Definitely a Management issue!! Worst part was the tip is automatically added so had to tip 20% for Worst service Ever! I don't mind tipping Good but a tip should be based on Service performance not automatic!..

Our chef had an awesome personality! What wasn't awesome was how cheap the experience felt for how much we spent. The menus are sheets of paper and that would be fine if the menu made more sense. The prices are all over the place and confusing. The portions are miserably small on mismatched plates. The lighting is miserably bright for whatever reason. We got angel hair spaghetti noodles instead of lo mien, the steak was over done, I have never understood the term too fishy when it came to salmon but I experienced it here. The veggies underdone. The fish didn't have any other flavor but strong fish. The only drink options were water and tea. Everything was genuinely flavorless unless we added shrimp sauce. The to go plates are now tiny tins that don't hold all of your food and makes a mess. We have done special occasions and dinners here for the last 7 years and it just really fell through this time and again for the price paid it just wasn't worth it. It's more expensive for lower quality service. We spent $125 for this?? No thank you. On top of if you read the reviews the owner is disgustingly rude and lies in their replies. Will not be back.

Doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Food was not worth the money at all. Was told we could not request no onions in the mixed veggies all or nothing. Found a hair in the salad, not even a sorry or replacement. We will not be back.. Also the whole group was sick as soon as we got home.

Worse experience ever. Dined in for a friend’s birthday, found lipstick on the soup spoon, the manager offered us a chocolate cake to compensate us for a contaminated spoon!! Felt very rush to eat even though we sat down to dine at 915!! The chef was great but overall this experience did not hold up to our level of standards!! The boss never personally apologize!! Never again!

***Salmonella Poisoning***
Aside from being quickly rushed out by the waitress —bringing a to-go box before asking, standing over me with the check right after our food was served until I gave her my card, and making comments about us leaving soon — I was going to try and give this place a chance, but I was food poisoned with Salmonella.
During the chef’s mediocre performance, I noticed that right after he put the raw chicken on the grill, he served my vegetables to me with the same spatula. I didn’t know what to say other than a quick prayer it would be fine —surely the heat of the veggies would kill the bacteria. I was wrong. Now, I’ve been dealing with Salmonella poisoning for the last three days.
I have never been so sick in my life, and I’ll never return to this establishment again. I’ve had to be out of work, struggle through my final exams, and haven’t been able to eat in two days.
Do better, Kubuto!

We were celebrating my father's birthday at this restaurant, and before we were seated, the owner asked if we were aware of their cake policy. We said no and inquired about it. Instead of explaining, he walked us over to a sign where the policy was written. We would have been okay with the fee, but the lack of direct communication and making us read through a paragraph to find out about the charge felt unprofessional.

Just close the location at this point! Place looks like a ghost town & the service was terrible. My salad was old & wet like it came out the bottom of the bag. My server insisted my 2 yo have the HOT soup while I was letting mine cool down. I ordered a whiskey & sprite & was given a sprite with a splash of Coke. When I asked for plastic silverware for my toddler I was told they don’t have Togo silver & was asked of my 2yo could use chopsticks. The food presentation was done quickly but that’s fine as I wanted to leave as soon as my food was done. As a person who use to frequent this location over a decade ago, I’ll never return & it’s clear this Kabutos location is DONE

Patrick the manager had an attitude from the moment we walked in the door. He was very rude with our entire party…it was a party of twelve. Our waitress Alex was MIA most of the time. We had to ask for drink refills and then wait at least 10 minutes to receive them. On a couple of occasions we had to ask for refills twice because she forgot to bring them. Our cook was good and friendly! However, it was Anthony, who went above and beyond for us. I’m not sure of his position but he was present more than anyone else. If I was rating this review based on Anthony it would be a 5 star but since I’m not Patrick and Alex ruined it for us. Thank you Anthony for making sure we had everything we needed!!!

Kabuto in Huntersville definitely has an authentic feel and staff if you're looking for a Japanese dining experience. The Angus steak is subpar so I definitely recommend the Fila Mignon . The prices are extremely high for the average quality food but the chefs are excellent ! The waitresses could use some training but are very friendly. A family of 4 to 5 can expect to pay $160 to $200 per meal. Follow us on Facebook @ JohnCauble ✌️😎

Pretty miserable experience tonight. Met grandma with our kids, and they have a limited sushi menu. When asking if they could make a spicy tuna the waitress was rude. She literally set the cups 2 feet away from us at the hibachi table. They were going to charge us extra for sharing a meal. The 19 year old Asian waitress is a real witch. They charged us 18% gratuity (which is common for 7 plus) and I even have $5, as I'll never ve back again. Horrible atmosphere and just not a fun place. Shocked it's busy. It really was miserable.

I received perfect service! I came early at open never having been to this location, wanted forever to run the one in Pineville, NC but it never looked open when I was nearby and hungry and seemed open when I wasn't hungry. The Huntersville location took care of my meal I kept thinking I need a second plate to make room for all of this food. I wish the place had of been a bit busier when I was there to sit with people and talk more! Good always tastes better with conversation but my chef was great! Ty for letting me ride our a severe thunderstorm and feeding me when my power went out. Would have given 5 stars for food but the server didn't hear the request for mushrooms but now I know they serve them and can't wait to come eat here again and have a veggie meal. Atmosphere holds capacity for koi pond but it isn't operational right now only reason for 4 not 5 stars otherwise I would have given three 5 Stars

Pretty much not coming back. Lettuce in Salads were turning brown. They put so much sauce on them to hide it. Salad bowls are almost half the old size. Cook was pretty good. Shrimp appetizers were not given out until all the rice and noodles were cooked and on plates. Portions were super small. The soup was barely half way filled in the bowls. Nobody in our group ordered extra rice, but had it on our order. Tiny plastic cups for shrimp sauce. $10 charge for bringing in our cake that we only blew out the candles on. Manager did note to us the cake charge beforehand. We thought it was for plates and utensils, which we didn't use. Nobody wanted to eat the cake there. My drink sat empty for half my dinner. They did bring a carafe of water, but sat empty on other side of table from me shortly after 3 refills on that side. Overall we were very unhappy. If we were not celebrating my son's Birthday I would have complained. This actually is our last time coming here. Just wanted to let others know so you don't waste your money.

We went no reservation on a Sunday evening. Got seated around 615. Can tell they were short staffed waited until 715 for a chef. The place wasn't packed, but our waitor never asked if we needed refills until the chef left. However, he brought over refills for the other family about 4 times. The kids dropped their forks, and he has to be reminded twice to bring a new fork. I never received a refill of water after asking 3 different times. They definitely use spaghetti noodles. He was fast bringing the bill & receipt. Will not be returning.

Went for dinner tonight. Should have known not to stay there was only about 15 people in the restaurant. We had a reservation but still had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. The waitress, frances wasn't worth anything either. She gives you the menu and turns around asking for a order. They bring the soup and it was weak as dish water. Salad comes after the rice was put on the plate. The rice wasn't seasoned, and was dry as old bones. The lady sitting beside us said it would be their last time. When the cook came out he turned the grill off, I think he thought it was turning it down , but when he put the onion on the grill it done nothing. The manage was an old crumpy man and rude. They need to close the doors and give it up. They used to have good food, and entertainment...it's trash now. I'll never go back.

Was told we would be seated immediately when we called 15 mins prior. Had to wait 20 mins when we got there. We were seated so close to each other that my wife and I felt like sardines. I had no room to even raise my arms to comfortably eat from the plate. It was SO LOUD. Sensory overload. And there were some people across from us covered in their food, in a not hey let me throw food at you and catch it hibachi style. We lost our appetite immediately and left before we even ordered. Not again

This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. We had a reservation for two at 6:00. The hosts did not acknowledge us when we gave them our reservation name, and we eventually sat down in the waiting area assuming that their lack of communication meant that we needed to wait a few minutes to be seated. About fifteen minutes later, we were finally led to a table where we were squished so tightly into a corner that we had to ask some other guests at the table to shift around just so that we each had a space for our plate. The server quickly took our drink order and brought our soup. And that was the last we saw of him until twenty minutes later when we finally got a glass of water. He disappeared again after salads arrived, Then we waited. And waited. We discussed leaving, but weren't sure where we would be able to find dinner at seven on a Saturday without a wait. Our drinks emptied and we waited some more. Just when we were getting up to leave, the chef arrived with the cart of food and promptly told us that the grill had not been properly turned up so we would have to wait five more minutes or so. After ten, he came back and slowly started getting ready. At that point I started to worry about the quality of the food. It had sat on the cart the whole time. Seafood, steak, raw chicken. The chef starts his thing and promptly splatters us with a hot egg. Subdued after that fiasco, he rushed through the rest of the thoroughly mediocre meal. We eat. It's fine I guess. Then we wait another ten minutes for the check, and it comes out with an overcharge on the one alcoholic drink. We wait again to have it corrected. Finally at 8:00 we get to leave, having overpaid for food slightly better than Panda Express but service much less appealing. Bonus, the bathrooms were filthy.

I have been to hibachi restaurants all over the country. All better than this one. They give you a little cup of yum yum sauce(looks disgusting) . Where is the ginger sauce? Where is the mustard sauce? Small portions. 2 little pieces of shrimp as included appetizer. No desert included. They use extremely small plates to try and give you the illusion of getting a lot of food.
High price considering the quality and quantity of food served.
If you ever think about going to this place. Just say sayonara instead.

The ginger sauce had changed and was very, very much stronger than the last time we were there. Everyone at our table went to the yum Yum sauce. The ginger sauce on the salad was perfect. Two pieces of scallop with hibachi. Small shrimps came with hibachi, but they give two jumbo pcs free shrimp to everybody. Rude manager. Cook wasn’t entertaining at all. After dinner, we asked for more sweet tea and they said, “we ran out.” We were the second to the last group of there; The other group just started cooking their food. The vibe was off from the start. It sucks because we dined for my husband’s birthday and it was sht.

Slow service, and we had to ask for our salads as they were about to skip the course. Other folks at our table left because it was so slow. The portion sizes were small as well. I got the combo, steak and chicken, and it was delicious but I left the place still hungry.

We had a fabulous evening and meal at Kabuto! Our chef was first class, full of personality, and very skilled with a great sense of humor! The staff at Kabuto was extremely accommodating and kind and the food was absolutely delicious! Thank you for a Christmas Eve dinner we’ll always cherish!

Walked in at 5:00 with 8 people and were told we couldn't be seated due to reservations of people later on. They then tries to stick us with 3 other people all at the same table. When I spoke with management they were not friendly or accommodating at all.
Im sorry you did not try to accommodate us and you were not willing to seat us even when there were tables available at this time. Also I have witnesses of what was said and done and I wouldn't come back to your establishment again with a low grade 91 never again

The food was great and we were seated very quickly. It was absolutely freezing in there which resulted in a not so great dining experience (the fire was nice tho!). Our food got cold very quickly due to the temperature inside.

At one time this was a fun place to take a date. The food is okay but it has been better in the past. The wait staff did a great job. Its the chefs that were a let down. They use to put on a show while they cooked. No show the only thing they did was a onion volcano and shined a green laser at it. That was it for the show. No big flames no spinning of the egg, no shrimp flying through the air. Was quite boring and sad.

Service was ok, food was very bland and flavorless. Very quiet & uncomfortable atmosphere, just empty and “run-down” looking.

The quality of the service wasn't the best. The presentation of our food was sloppy. Dressing running down the sides of the dishes etc. The restaurant has a musty scent and the decor needs updating. The food wasn't anything to be excited about.

At least one server was new, so at times they seemed a little slow, but they were very friendly and attentive. The chef's are very entertaining and made the meal quite enjoyable. Showed up with a large party and no reservation and had only a short wait, but it looks like I got lucky. Great atmosphere and food. Recommend visiting if in the neighborhood. I will make reservations in the future and suggest the same.

Great food but our waitress was very short with us, to the point of being rude. Our chef was pretty good. Didn't do a lot of tricks but still did a great job. Quite pricey and there was an 18% gratuity included. I would rather go to a different one but it was ok considering there aren't any others around.

The people near me were very friendly but the food was a 2/10 MAXIMUM. My server was very sweet and I hope she gets a raise. my chef of the other hand has got to be a dishwasher because he did 1 and a half tricks, was very nervous and did not have the correct hat. I came her for a show and a meal but I left disappointed. I hope that you guys will start testing your chefs before you let them service people. The salad was very good but the soup tasted like bath water and I could get a heart-attack from all the salt and soy sauce he put in my food. Best believe I will not be coming back to this location.. the other locations experiences have been a-lot more pleasant.. im also very disappointed because my “chef” felt very distant and he tried to crack a few jokes, i do also think he’s new so ill give him some gratitude but come on now I hope that you have a better experience than me.

Had a 6:00 reservation and didn’t get to table till 6:30 and didn’t get food till almost 7:30. Not enough wait staff and only 3 cooks. Had to wait for the cook to finish another table. Had to ask 3 times for salt/pepper and the entire staff had a “we don’t care” attitude. What used to be a really good restaurant has gone way down hill. The only thing they brought out quickly was the bill

When four of us stopped in we were looking to have some Sushi, we were told ever since Covid they have not had it on the menu but they are in the process of bringing it back in a week or so.
So we decided to just order a few appetizers and be on our way.
Upon the owner / manager hearing about our request for Sushi her and her husband ( owner / manager) completely surprised us by grabbing a chef and between the three of them made us the most amazing Sushi that they are going to be offering on the menu. Make sure if your near by stop in and try the steak filet Sushi, it was a great change from the dragon roll, tempura roll and the 3 other different Sushi's they prepared for us.

Kabuto was a good experience. Food was good, definitely will fill you up, so it's best to go on an empty stomach to enjoy the food. Intimate setting and the chefs are very skilled and make the experience fun for the guests. They have toned down the flame tricks so not as big anymore which may be for safety reasons. Make reservations before you go and if you have a big party make sure everyone is there at the same time to be seated. Ginger salad wasn't that good, maybe should stick to ranch. Not a big fan of the Japanese clear soup. Steak, chicken, and shrimp combination was good. If it's your birthday they make it a fun experience. Overall nice atmosphere, if you've never experienced the Hibachi cooking style in a Japanese restaurant definitely go.

When we arrived, we noticed the building is old and ran down. In desperate need of updates and TLC. We discovered Inside was about the same. We also found it odd that cameras are everywhere. I don’t mean one or two. But literally every corner one to multiple cameras are installed. Not sure why all the cams are needed to watch people eat? None the less, we went for the food. We waited an hour at our table before the chef showed up. Food was yummy and somewhat worth the wait. So, bottom line is ambiance-1 star, food- 4 stars.

Not a good experience. Seated 40 mins past reservation time. Didn’t see a cook for an hour and 45 mins past reservation time. The air conditioning was either broken or turned off, it was MISERABLE inside! Everyone’s faces were bright red and sweating. I felt bad for the staff working there if we were that miserable just sitting there.

I usually enjoy dinner here. This time not so much. We had made a reservation weeks ahead and had to wait a long time. After finally being seated, service was very slow. Other tables got their chef before us (we were seated at least 15 mins before them). Our chef lacked personality so it was not entetaining. The steak was decent, the chicken a bit rubbery.

It's your average hibachi place. If you're going on a weekend, it's probably best to make a reservation. We didn't have one, and they were able to seat us in about 20 minutes, but there were only two of us. I feel the "entertainment" bit of the experience is a little lacking, but still good. We had the Fliet mignon and shrimp along with dinner service (soup/salad) and cocktails. It was all delicious.
They could maybe do some updates to both the interior and exterior, but we aren't really there for the decor, right? Staff is friendly. You don't wait forever for your food, it's good and you should not leave hungry!

Pretty Meh to be honest, the staff is very disorganized. Constantly having to remind them to bring us what we ordered. Tables were quite dirty like they hadn't been cleaned in a couple days. Food was really boring and over-salted. Really disappointed for the cost of the meal.

The food was amazing!!! The chef was kind and accommodating to the others at our table the drinks were awesome my only issue here was the added tip to my bill when it’s not disclosed anywhere and we had already tipped in cash but they took it off our bill. You have to make reservations to be seated quickly. The atmosphere was normal for hibachi. The Hibachi Chef did his normal hibachi flame trick. My reservation was only for 4 ppl, so we were seated with others to fill a section. We ordered chicken hibachi, steak & shrimp hibachi and tempura chicken. At dinner hibachi comes with clear soup, salad, fried rice & noodles. It wasn't clear that tempura chicken came with nothing else, so I shared my rice & noodles with my youngest. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed their dishes. Overall it was okay to me.

I was apprehensive about eating here. For one thing I’m a vegetarian. And food is cooked on a shared grill. Also I had read multiple bad reviews. The server communicated with the chef about my dietary needs and my food was cooked first. The chef was very entertaining and personable. He made jokes, tossed and swirled his tools and cooked the food in a way that everyone seemed to enjoy. I can only say my food was good but since everyone ate most of their food I would think it was good also.

The service here is so, so slow. The chef looked like he was just over it. The scallops were awful — like they had gone bad. We waited so long for our drinks the food actually was ready first. Took over 2 hours from start to finish and all the food ended up tasting the same.

Went to celebrate a birthday. Had 7 pm reservations for 15. Got there at 6:45. Part of our party was sat with 2 other families at 7:25. Then 7 minutes the other 10 of us were sat with a different family at a completely different table.
There is a sign that says reservations are only held for 10 minutes lol but apparently they can just keep seating people without reservations and make the parties wait and then sit with the strangers that came in after them.
An hour after arriving we finally received some of our beverages. They immediately put down soup without asking what we wanted to order. I asked if it was vegetarian. The waitress said she didn't know. I said no thank you then. I asked to order the vegetarian sushi, and she said no sushi tonight. I asked to order a salad, she said you can't get a salad without the meal. I ended up having an appetizer of 3 small spring rolls for dinner.
Two of the beers I wanted they were out of, so I ordered a cocktail. That came 20 minutes later after asking 3 people for it. Our appetizers were cold. Now the other part of our party finished dinner 20 minutes before us, so they waited at their table with other families for us to finish. The positive is the cook was nice.
Do not waste your time here, go somewhere else for hibachi.

If I could rate zero stars, I would. Food was mediocre, at best, for the price. Our waitress was rude, unfriendly, and not helpful when questions were asked about the menu. Half of our table (not in our party) didn’t get their ordered drinks and we never saw her again until our checks came.
The upkeep inside the building was also terrible.

AVOID THIS PLACE - Seriously. You will regret coming here.
First we sit down and I noticed rice and other food scraps left in the corners of the grill. It felt dirty.
The staff took our drink and appetizer order and 15 mins later she brought the drinks only. My girlfriend was afraid to drink her glass of wine because the glasses were smudged and dirty looking.
We all sat there talking for an hour before the chef came. While waiting another table cleared out and I watched this lady attempt to clean up after them. She took a filthy rag and wiped food onto the floor. She spent 5mins wiping that table and still left food.
Our chef was so/so. He didn’t really put on a show. The appetizer came in the middle of dinner. Our drinks never got refilled. We asked and they came once. Nothing was cooked right. Gross. Overpriced. Avoid. Seriously. Avoid.

Buyer beware. Our party included 6 guests and our table had 2 additional parties of 2. All had a terrible experience. Waitress was extremely rude and had an attitude any time you asked for anything starting with soy sauce. Had to ask for owner to refill our drinks and then had to eat the rest of our meals with out any drinks since they never came back around. Tried to charge us for a bottle of Sriracha when we asked for extra and then charged us $6 extra for a spicy chicken dish and the chef had to use our table sriracha because he did not have any on his cart. All our bills were charged higher pricing from menu price. When another guest confronted the owner on it they gave him another menu with different prices! Had no sushi at a Japanese restaurant ???
On a positive Food and chef were good.

I really want to give this place 4 stars but just can't. The food was fantastic, the chef was amazing, and the wait staff were very nice! My main issues for giving 3 stars is that we had a 6:30 reservation, we showed up 15min early and had 3 other groups arrive after us all saying they had 6:30 reservations as well. Somehow they were all seated before us and we weren't seated until just before 7pm. Along with that we ordered some drinks and only received part of what we ordered, they easily removed them from the bill at the end though. And lastly, for the price, the quantity of food was slightly lacking. The amount of meat was great, and the quality amazing don't get me wrong. But there weren't a lot of rice or noodles, arguably the cheapest part of the meal. Overall the experience makes me not want to go spend a couple hundred dollars again, but it was good enough that I don't regret going.

Very disappointing experience. I can appreciate how staffing a family restaurant is challenging post-pandemic + during the holidays, but this was bad. Poor service, the staff was rude, they were out of too many things on the menu, the restaurant was full w/ three rotating chefs between 9-10 different tables… the wait was long and certainly not worth it as the food is very mediocre. My husband ordered a second drink (a canned beer) and our server said that the bartender was swamped and suggested that he remove it from the bill so that we wouldn’t wait. It was a beer served in a can! The issue was that they wanted to turn our table and so we were practically bussed out of of the restaurant the moment our food was served. Such a long weight for a chef to arrive and cook the food with no time to eat, before they were began clearing off and wiping our table down. Will not be returning here anytime soon.

Pretty place. Otherwise just kind of meh all around.
Our waitress didn't know what beers they had and forgot to bring a drink menu. We eventually got one from the folks sitting with us. After waiting forever after finally ordering his beer, he eventually told her nevermind as she forgot to bring it. He asked another waitress eventually when he changed his mind, and that one never came either. Finally got one after who knows how many asks.
We ordered two kids' "hibachi service", basically all the sides without a protein, and when we were paying noticed they'd charged our 4yo and 7yo as adults despite that not being what we ordered. We were honestly just so done and ready to leave by that point that my husband didn't bother saying anything. For that price difference, our 1yo should've gotten a full meal too.
For what this place charges, there should be way more than the 5 or 6 bites of zucchini and scant rice and noodles it came with. The last hibachi restaurant we went to, in Charleston, was similarly priced and I came home with as much leftovers as was my whole meal here.
Our cook was a very nice guy and he did a great job for what he was working with. Waitress forgot to turn on the cook top for him, messed up two people's orders...he was really nice tho and a good cook.

Horrible experience. My daughter took me here for dinner on a Sunday night. We were seated promptly however, after an hour we finally got a salad. We could not eat the salad however because we had no silverware. After waiting another 10 minutes to see if they would bring us silverware we decided that was enough and we left. We were told that they had only 2 chefs on staff that night which I understand, and if that had been communicated to us I would be more understanding. As it stands I only gave 1 star because I can’t give 0 stars. Save your money and go to eat at eaves!

I ordered the salmon hibachi dinner with a salad on 10/22/22 and the food was burnt. My rice, veggies, lomein, and meat was all charred. It was to the point where it could not be consumed. I paid $30 for this meal and basically flushed my money down the toilet. I called the store and was told that a manager would call me back and I’m still waiting for that callback. Not happy at all with the food quality or the service of this Kabutos.

A VERY poor experience. Sorry for the long review, but I seldom give "1" or "2" ratings and felt it deserved explaining.
We have dined here in the past and had a good meal, but tonight was different. We were celebrating our combined August Birthdays tonight so we've been looking forward to going. But while there were some good points, it was an overall disappointment.
1.) The food: My wife ordered hibachi chicken and I decided to "splurge" by ordering the 14oz "Angus Beef". It was the typical teppanyaki dinner with fried rice, noodles, veggies, etc. The rice and noodles were good. The yum-yum sauce was great as was the ginger dressing on the salad and the soup was exquisite. Then it took a turn down. The onion and zucchini was nearly raw. Conversely, the "angus" beef was supposed to be med-rare. There were maybe 1-2 bites that were cooked right, but the majority was medium-well to medium. Even worse, it was tough and chewy. This was NOT a quality piece of meat. It m a y have been flank steak ar best. To add insult, it was priced north or $38.00! However, my wife's chicken was actually decent.
2.) The Chef: While IMHO he did a decent job with the food, he seemed a bit disorganized. It started out well, but then he got in a hurry and undercooked the veggies, while overcooking the proteins. My steak was overdone and some of the mushrooms were downright burnt. Its like he was told to cook the meal as fast as possible. He even forgot the classic "alcohol onion fire volcano" until after the meal was served and the grill was cleaned - and only after a little girl from another group asked about it. This kinda explains...
3.) The service: Our wait person was very friendly and pleasant, if not a bit scattered. I had to ask for salt a couple of times and she forgot to bring my to-go beverage (though she brought my wife's). They also didn't have any large takeout containers so we had to use 4 of the small desert containers. But I think she did a good job considering it was clear she was being pressured to push us out the door as soon as the cook walked away. Before I coukd even scrape the leftovers out of the plate a bus boy was trying to take it. The waitress had brought the bill and 3 min later was asking if I "needed more time" ...with a fork and plate still my hands. She came back a few minutes later and apologized, stating that she was being pushed to get the table cleared. OK, i would understand that in a busy restaurant, but they WEREN'T. There were more than 5 empty grill tables.
The atmosphere at this restaurant has changed. Not sure where the problem lies and I hope they work it out, but we won't be back to find out.

The truth is we were disappointed. We had ordered the filet and chicken combo. We went to celebrate a birthday and I greatly appreciate the chef cooking in front of us but he only did two tricks and didn't even light the grill with a match. I'd guess the talent and quality has changed ever since 2020 when the pandemic came about. 18% gratuity will be included in your bill.

If I could rate a 0, I would. Made reservations at 7:00pm. Sat down at 7:07. Food was awful. The cook burnt the food and it tasted like soy sauce. The egg that goes into the rice was black. The steak was chewy. The service was terrible. We had to repeatedly ask for water and find waitress, waited over an hour before cook came. Took 35 minutes to cook the food. Two members of our party didn’t eat the food. We asked manager to take it off the bill after several back and forth and obviously two people in our party didn’t eat, they took the meals off. I showed them the food was uneaten. We waited 30 minutes again for them to get our bills straight. Put tip into bill, which was frustrating given the service was bad. We came with friends and they charged each one of us the wrong amounts using the wrong cards. Paid 6 times the amount for my bill because the manager charged me someone else’s bill and mine! After 30 minutes of explaining what happened, she finally refunded. This place is a complete Waste of time and money. After everything, the manager still made us pay. Ridiculous. After walking out, we saw the grade was an 89 B.🤮🤮🤮

Great getting seated fast but the wait for a full table and for the chef to come is a bit excessive. Waiter was nice but other people at table were requesting Pepsi but out, then requested Dr Pepper, but out. Portions of plates compared to prices is a bit low. In comparison to other Japanese hibachi restaurants it needs some help. Great potential for the restaurant but needs to “competitor visit” to make better.

This place is very undeserving of all these negative reviews. It was clean, we were seated and served AHEAD of our reservation time, the servers were nice, the chef was nice and interacted with my kids, the portion serving were appropriate (I was full and had some to take home) and the food was delicious!
