Best Japanese in GSO until now!
The place has normal tables, a bar and also an area where you can take your shoes off and enjoy the real Japanese experience sitting on the floor! Super cool!
We ordered the all you can eat menu for 29.90 each person and we love it! So many options of Japanese food! Everything super fresh and tasteful.
The service also stands up with a kind waiter, that was super helpful to clarify the options and indicate the most ordered sushi.
My suggestions is: salmon tower, green house roll, Philadelphia roll, spicy salmon.

We came here for our wedding anniversary and glad we came when they opened at 12. Prices are the same for the dinner time all-you-can-eat without sashimi without the huge dinner crowd we read about in the reviews. We love the food and experience! Our waiter Liem was solid and was very attentive and made sure to check up on us. Amazing sushi and the complimentary sake was very smooth and great tasting. Definitely will come back here again!!

Even though I live close by, I’ve only eaten here once so when I had a craving for sushi, I headed over and did not regret it. I sat at the sushi bar and enjoyed watching how quick and professional team prepared all of the dishes, and when mine arrived, I was, ready to die in.! Each fish was fresh and my favorite, the year was fantastic. I saw how brisk the traffic was with people coming and going, and should tell newbies to be patient as this is not a very large restaurant the well worth the wait.

I wanted to try out my newly created set of sushi dishes and chopsticks holder. What better place than Mizumi? Once again, we had a delightful meal and left behind only crumbs and a distant memory of being hungry on arrival. The sushi set worked nicely, too.

To the owner— expand your location !! This concept is a money maker, especially with the quality Mizumi offers.
My sister introduced me to this local sushi buffet in Greensboro. It is a hidden gem for me, quite small and not located in a busy area. We arrived a little before 5pm and there was a line outside the door! That says great things itself.
If you catch them early enough, you’re offered table or floor seating which I found very unique. Once sat, your entire party begin to order on a sheet of piece. The menu is pretty large offering soups, salads, appetizers, and a ton of sushi. I wasn’t the biggest of this because as you’re given a two hour limit (very reasonable) ordering more depends on when your server comes back around. You also cannot visualize what you’re ordering.
A huge red flag for me was the additional charge warned if any food is leftover— at a buffet styled restaurant that is far from reasonable. Basically force down what is left over or pay on top of the buffet you paid for. So be mindful of that. Order what you’re familiar with because you will not have the opportunity to explore different sushi.
On the bright side their food was delicious! Sushi rolls were huge, hibachi was seasoned perfectly, and love their crab rangoon.
I have been planning to make another visit very soon. I do advise visiting soon as they open or you will be waiting for quite some time
Pros:
- Quality dishes
- All you can eat
Cons:
- Wait times
- Additional charge for leftover
- Price per person
- Confined space

We went for dinner on cold Saturday. The wait time was unexpectedly long like 45min but worth the wait.
Parking may be bit issue.
The place is little small so the sitting is very close with other tables.
The food was excellent, we ordered Hibachi Salmon, in appetizers we ordered
Sushi and avocado 🥑 salad.
Service was excellent and quick.
Overall great place and I can recommend.

Very good sushi buffet at a fair price.
The restaurant is small and fills up fast, if you don't get there early you will likely have to wait for a seat.
Service is good but can be slow to bring out the next round of sushi.
I'd love to see them move into a much larger building, I think they would do very well.

My husband and I came in from out of state for an appointment and decided to get sushi here after
It was all you can eat day today so we were understanding with the 45 minute wait time
But because of this, of course, Service was very slow. They were obviously short staffed.
We got the love boat for two and additionally one roll a piece. We were understanding with the wait time again. Drinks came out fast at least. But we saw our sushi sit for 8 minutes and got slightly warm before another waitress brought it to us. The sushi and sashimi itself was excellent minus the fact it was a little warm and there were 3 sushi rolls on the love boat we couldn’t eat due to dietary restrictions.
The building was also not accessible as there was no handicap parking, no parking actually accessible or not besides two blocks away, not a ramp to get in and also stairs inside without a railing on both sides. It was still good but a disappointment from what we expected. If you are not disabled, with no dietary restrictions and all the time in the world I’m sure it would be 5 stars, but not for us. I don’t think we will drive from Virginia to get it again.
Visited 5 months ago
The only reason why I am giving 3 stars is because of the insane “Gratuity” they charged us. Me and my family dine here last time, I have 3 kids ages 3, 5 and 8. They charged us like $21 for a gratuity and top of it, I still gave the rightful tip. Food is great but that kind of charges is not acceptable. Be careful if you gonna dine here with your family coz they might charge you a gratuity like they did to us. We just don’t want to contest the charge that time as it was a busy time for all of them, foods being served late but it is understandable since it was busy but still that gratuity charge is not acceptable.

Honestly, this is my favorite sushi place thus far in North Carolina, and I’ve had my share of quite a few places! Note that you will wait a while (and maybe like us even longer than what was told to us), but it’s worth it! The assortment and array of fish on the menu was superb! The quality is top tier of the sushi itself and I haven’t a single complaint about what we ordered!

Mizumi has the best sushi in Greensboro at the moment. Dining inside is a wonderful experience when tables are available. The ceilings are low and the atmosphere is intimate with a touch of eclectic Japanese decor.
I took my kids there for the first time this evening and arrived at 5:45PM. There was a 2hr wait. The kids really wanted sushi so we ordered Mizumi on GrubHub on the drive home. Delivery time is 1hr.
This is disappointing. I wanted my kids to experience the atmosphere. There is a 2hr wait to eat there, but it will be delivered to my house in 1hr.
I hope they expand to accommodate more dine in customers.

I have been to a very wide variety of sushi places in various places and this place is AMAZING!!! Our server was the sweetest and most accurate server I've had in a very long time. The food is AMAZING!!! Fresh, fast service and with 4 people ordering all sorts of different things, that's impressive. To anyone who enjoys sushi and is near this place, IT IS A MUST!!!!! The best part about it all, unless you are determined to have sashimi, it's the cheapest I have been to. Also a neat feature is they have floor seating which is traditional Japanese seating arrangement. PLEASE CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!!!!!

Overpriced. Slow. Limited parking. Very limited seating. Long wait times to eat and to also receive your food. Newly added an additional charge for sashimi on the all you can eat buffet. Threats of additional charges on the over priced all you can eat for any leftover food… PER PIECE. Used to be my favorite Sushi place but it’s gone downhill over the last year.

The service was so good and the ladies were very sweet, However, the smell when you walk in was not appealing at all. It just didn’t smell clean. I got the hibachi chicken and steak and that was extremely underwhelming. The steak was tough to chew and it looked and tasted like the whole meal was rushed. I was craving some good hibachi and that served me no good.

My husband and I got seated immediately on a Wednesday night, got sushi and it initially came out in about 20 minutes. Each additional roll came out in like 5 minutes or less. Great service!
Only thing is the chopsticks gave me multiple splinters. Could use better quality chopsticks.

Food is average hibachi fair. The steak is good quality but overall I've had better. The service was absolutely abysmal, we got serviced maybe twice in the hour we were there. Drinks went empty and items were wrong and took forever to get fixed.

My husband and I went here for the first time this evening. The atmosphere was pleasant. I’m not a fan of sushi but it looked really pretty. I ordered the chicken teriyaki hibachi and ordered a side of egg rolls. My husband got the steak and shrimp hibachi. When the food came out it was so hot and fresh. It was absolutely delicious. We are so excited we found this place and we will be coming back again for sure. I’d like to sit at the lounge tables where you take your shoes off and sit close to the floor.

We came as a party of 2 on a Sunday. We planned to arrive right when they opened at 1pm and there was already a decent sized line by 12:50. I was worried we might not get a table, but there was more space than I expected since it is not a large restaurant. We decided not to do the all-you-can-eat option and just to order directly off the menu. Our waitress seemed to be serving more tables than she probably should have been so it did take some time for her to take our order. I ordered the hibachi chicken and steak with fried rice and salad with ginger dressing. With how busy it was, our food arrived in a reasonable time. I would say the food was fine, nothing special. I felt like the meat was dry/overcooked. Their version of white sauce was very good and I did enjoy their Crab Rangoons. I think if I did return, I would love to try to all-you-can-eat option to try more things.

Food and service are good. Can be loud, and that's why I gave it the rating I gave for the atmosphere.
We had all you can eat sushi, maybe that's why it gets loud. BTW they actually have a time limit for all you can eat, which is 2 hours.
When it comes to sushi, for my wife and I, it's an intimate meal where we share life's experiences and talk about us and how are we doing. In Greensboro, we have yet to find a place like that. We actually have a tally list of Sushi restaurants we have been to. However, we are still looking for that gem. The one we had back east was called Hanocki Sushi, which is very quaint.

Don’t know any thing else but the girls answering your business phone are rude.
I ended up cursing over the phone yes. Will not apologize to a rude person.
I started my call with I’d like to make a reservation at 6 PM, please for two. Her response is we don’t take 6 PM reservations. And we require minimum reservations of six on the weekend. I was like ma’am it’s Thursday it’s not at all the weekend yet. And she’s like well either way we don’t take 6 PM reservations OK well how would I know that if I’m calling you to ask? What time do you take reservations and she’s like basically every other time but 6 o’clock. She had plenty of attitude and it got worse as the call went on when all I wanted to know was if I could make a reservation I didn’t need every which way to say no so she ended up getting cursed out before I hung up on her.
I called back and asked for the manager and I believe another girl answered less rude but annoyed sounding. Manager isn’t in until after they close at 330?
She was all you did curse at her. And I was like I didn’t start that way maam.
Front end service needs some training.
Instead of talking about what you can’t do when someone calls in maybe focus on what is possible and available and be helpful versus annoyed.

Tables have a two-hour maximum dining time. There is typically at least a half-hour wait to be seated, with an average of around an hour on a busy night. All party members must be present before anyone is seated. The dining area is small and tightly packed in terms of the number of seats and tables, but the experience is authentic compared to small, local bars in Japan. I recommend being patient and enjoying the food as it comes since they are often at capacity on a given night.
My biggest complaint is often about the other guests. Due to the tight quarters and long wait times, rude guests can easily ruin the experience. I sat near two adult women who watched the entirety of Mean Girls at 100% volume on an iPad sitting on their table. I applaud Apple's products since I could hear every word, even with my earplugs.
If you can avoid the iPad babies, the atmosphere is fantastic, and the food is top-notch. People without patience and those with claustrophobia should stay away.

The sushi was good, service was excellent. The place is old and run down looking. It is a tiny space so if you don't like sitting super close to strangers, this isn't the place for you. The lady sitting next to us kept fluffing her hair and it was touching our table. Glad to have checked the place out, but won't be returning. I also had to park in the walgreens parking lot and walk over as there is no parking.

Endless Wait, No Food, Never Again
Our experience at Mizumi Hibachi and Sushi was beyond disappointing. We never even got to taste the food due to their abysmal wait time management. Upon arrival, we were told the wait would be 1 to 1 and a half hours. Okay, not great, but we decided to stick it out. Big mistake. After patiently waiting for 2 hours, we inquired about our table only to be informed that we had at least another 45-minute wait ahead of us!
At this point, we were beyond frustrated and simply gave up. The complete lack of accurate wait time estimates was inexcusable.
While the sushi might be good (we'll never know), no food is worth this kind of wait. We have absolutely no intention of returning to Mizumi. There are plenty of other sushi places in town that actually value their customers' time.
Save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere. Your time is too valuable to waste at Mizumi.

I always get door dash from here and it's always so good! They throw in extra sauces too. The food was well done and my partner really enjoyed the sushi he had, I just can't wait to try to eat in. They were busy when we tried to go but we'll try to see about reservations!

Mizumi's stands out as one of the finest authentic Japanese restaurants I've visited. Upon entering, the restaurant was bustling with happy customers and offered a diverse menu. We were escorted to a traditional seating area on the floor, reminiscent of dining in Japan. Our order included a variety of sushi, meat, rice, and more. The service was impeccable, with our server's friendly demeanor enhancing the overall experience. I highly recommend visiting Mizumi's if you are in the area.

Food: 10/10 (food may get cold as they dont serve it right away coz so busy)
Wait: so long from dish to dish esp for eat all you can that you get satiated just waiting. If you’re still hungry by the time the 2nd/ 3rd serving arrives after 30-45 mins, then good!
Dinner: always fully booked. 🫣
Visited 10 months ago
The service was very disappointing. When we arrived, we joined the line but nobody attended to the line for about 10minutes. It was as if the servers were intentionally avoiding eye contact which was crazy because the line was so long!
Once it got moving and it was our turn, we were told it was going to be a 1-1hr15min wait. There were enough seats around and we were not asked if we had reservations so we assumed there weren’t any options for that prior. The sushi looked great online and honestly we were so excited to eat here but because of this experience, we decided we’re never coming here again.
Visited 10 months ago
This place was definitely cramped for space. We felt like we were sitting with the couple next to us. This place is all you can eat but don't leave anything behind because you get charged for that. I get the concept. I enjoyed my shrimp but my chicken was tough. The crab rangoon was delicious but the spring rolls were a little bit mushy inside. It just really felt like we were inserted with a shoe horn. For me it was not worth the price but it was worth the experience, once.

Bottom line: We love Mizumi! The food is fantastic and they are great with their customers. Make sure to get your frequent guest card so you can get comped for a free meal when you fill up your card. We have a couple of family members with gluten sensitivity and the staff accommodate our requests to avoid cross contamination. We have grown to trust this place as a result and it continues to be one of our “go to” favorites in Greensboro.
Additionally, be prepared for an hour wait most of the time during peak dinner hours (5:30 pm to 7:30 pm). Also be prepared to be told you’ll have an hour wait, even if the wait is 20 minutes (true story - keep reading).
We recently went and were told the wait would be an hour (as usual). Sometimes that means 1 hour and 10 minutes, sometimes it means 50 minutes. That is totally reasonable in my opinion. The way we handle this standard wait time is by heading over to Bull City Ciderworks - such a great spot (especially if you have issues with gluten since all ciders are gluten-free). That said, my wife and I were just settling in to our beverages and we get the call from Mizumi that our table is ready. No joke, that hour long wait was 20 minutes. So while that was fantastic because we were hungry, it wasn’t so great because, although the State Street business district allows for open containers while walking around in the area (which is awesome and such a great perk for this quaint little shopping and food area - truly a hidden gem in Greensboro), there simply is not enough time to leisurely stroll and sip on your beverage and finish it without chugging if you’re walking door to door.
That said, after that little issue, our experience was as great as it usually is and we are thankful to have found this lovely sushi spot in Greensboro.
Another pro tip is that the all you can eat menu is prorated for kids. As long as you do not waste food, this is a fantastic opportunity to get your kids to try sushi without the risk of spending a ton of money on something they may end up not liking. Also plenty of kid friendly kitchen (non fish) options available if the kids aren’t totally ready for the sushi experience.

Great sushi, good service. Very busy if you have a party of 3 or more you may have to wait. Most time the wait was 15 to 20 min. The person next to me got the vegetable hibachi, and it looked great also. You can get all you can eat or just order meals ala cart. I like that they give you the choice

What a great experience! We were trying Mizumi for the first time today, and could not have been more pleased with the product and the absolute value of the AYCE offerings. Reading through quite a few of the reviews and it seems more likely there is an expectation that hand rolled, fresh sushi should move as fast as a drive thru line. We were there around an hour and 15 minutes and ordered 3 rounds of apps, rolls, and a final order of dessert. The pace is reasonable, and frankly they could charge a little more on that AYCE and we would still gladly pay and enjoy the experience again.

Alright food. Server didnt provide name but provided appetizers. Another server asked us to split the check before all the main trays were served. I requested vanilla and green tea ice cream. The second server brought a red bean ice cream. I was informed that I would get the correct ice cream but never received it.
Other tables experienced similar issues. They were asked if they still wanted their order when they failed to provide it in a timely manner.
They utilized Artificial Intelligence for a “custom reply” .. :/

Getting in took 25 mins which wasn’t bad. We were seated and the server took 5 mins to greet and get our drink order. We were done with our sheets and left it at the corner of the table so the server could see/get it easier. My friend ordered a beer and he didn’t get it until half of the appetizers were out. The red snapper appetizer looked really messy and it made me not want to eat it. Ikura was good. Friend ordered a hibachi dinner and he never got it. The server never came and checked up on us, and when she did come she asked if we were ready for the check and didn’t even realize that he never got his hibachi dinner along with the sweet potato roll. We ordered a second round which came out faster than the first. We also ordered ice cream so we asked again and when the server that brought it she brought out the only flavor we didn’t order (we ordered 2 vanilla and 1 matcha, we got 1 red bean). When we told the server we didn’t order that she looked confused saying we did. So we told her our order and she said she’d bring it out right away and we still never got it. Our area was very crammed and really loud. After we got our checks, no one came and grabbed it so we just walked up to the front to pay. Mind you our check books are placed on the edge of the table with our cards sticking out and there were servers coming in and out. Honestly my friend who never got his hibachi should have gotten a discount. Don’t recommend coming here at all. We also didn’t get the free sake that should have came with the AYCE.
Update: not even an hour of leaving this place my friends and I are all having diarrhea. I’m from Japan and my husband is Korean. We eat sushi all the time and this is the first time this has happened to us.

Service was horrid. We waited an hour to get our first round then they completely forgot about two of our orders. We ordered ice cream and it never got brought to us.
Update: The fish gave all my friends and me bad diarrhea.

Not a good showing with service and timing. Love the place when we order with Uber eats every month at 300-400 at a time. But disappointed with a 1st time eat in. Won’t being ordering anymore form a place that doesn’t do right to the customer. So got to find another good sushi spot to order from.also charged a customer that did t even eat, had to track someone down for refills. Poor excuse for delayed orders waiting a little over an hour for first dish. Also had nats in the drinks

I've loved sushi since 1982 and owned and managed my own sushi bar for 4 years. This place is top quality with a great selection. Had their all you can eat dinner and was AMAZED at the fish to rice ratio on the makis. (lots of fish not much rice) and the nigiris were also not over-riced. Beer not overpriced, too! Will be going back.

Most unfriendly host . Believe her name is Grace. No smile. Not cordial. Big frown.
Food great. And service was fair considering busy all you can wat at 8 p.m. Tue night.
They need a friendly host. Seriously.

We go a few times a year and absolutely love it! My husband can eat quite a few rolls so the all you can eat option is the go-to! Great specials around birthdays and the AYCE deals, too!

Had such a beautiful dinner in one of their private sit down areas. The food was fresh and delicious and we ate to our hearts content. We return at least once a month. Thank you!

The only issue with our food was it was cold. But let me tell you WHY it was cold. We placed a to-go order and was told it'd be 25 minutes. We went walking and after 30 min, we came back to be told it wasn't ready. So we went walking again (maybe 5 minutes) came back, checked, and it still wasn't ready. We sat on one of the benches outside (the waiting area consists of 2 chairs and is very small). We checked in again and were told it wasn't ready. After about 5 minutes of waiting, we checked in again and you guessed it. So we say on the other bench and waited. After about 10 min, my wife noted that I'd held the door for a couple that DINED IN and now they were leaving. We went in with the mindset "Just refund our money" The two young females were talking with other patrons and one of them found our order. So nearly an hour later, knowing it would've been even later if we hadn't checked for the 6th time, we got our food. We live 5 minutes away. The food was lukewarm at best but tasted great (albeit in a leftover way). Our issue was paying over $45 (including a >20% tip) for cold food. It would've been great if they called our name, tapped on the window, or something (especially after 5 check-ins). But if we hadn't checked in for that 6th time, it would've still been sitting there today.

The food has always been amazing here, the rolls, the hibachi is always great. The service can be either great or okay, as someone who's worked in the food industry I get it because anytime we go it's packed. I love the inside of the restaurant, the dim lights make it look like there's a mystery.
I love it!

We saw a roach on the floor and we did not say anything because we didnt want to freak anyone out. The roach crawling under the table around a lady's shoe and I feel bad that I didnt say anything and I should have told the manager we just got up and left. This place needs to spray and become more cleaner the rating is a 96 so there is some improvement needed.

This little place was hands down the best sushi that I've had since moving to North Carolina from Miami, FL. The Crazy Beef Roll was out of this world delicious!! I will order two of those next time I visit this restaurant! They were very accommodating to my picky cousin who ordered the Bacon Roll but didn't know that the fish on top would be raw. The Chef seared the Roll for her and she absolutely loved it that way! It was jam packed in there, the ambiance was cozy, the sushi presentation was beautiful! This place is truly a hidden gem! I will be back next time that I am in Greensboro! ❤️

The food was good. However, my service wasn't great, so I left a 15% gratuity upon my departure later. My server had changed the gratuity to a 25% and ROBBED me of extra money!!!! Needless to say, I WILL NOT be returning, and I advise you to do the same.

I sat for 15 minutes before I was even acknowledged by a server. The first server didn’t offer to take my drink order. The second server took my drink order. The server that was assigned to my table. Just placed the water on the table and walked off. There was a fairly large party that slowed down the service I understand that. However, there’s no organization to service.

I moved here May 2023 from NY, I was hoping to find the all you can eat sushi place near me and Winston Salem. There is not one so I decided Try sushi Restaurants in general, and I was disappointed every time had three different people tell me about this location in Greensboro And I go once a month now I truly love going here the service is phenomenal. The food is great and I will continue to take mine once a month.

Great food, everything is amazing. Food just takes a while to come out. If your getting the buffet, order everything you want at the start because it will take the full 2 hours for everything to come to you. THEY HAVE RED BEAN ICE CREAM
