As a REALTOR®, I’m always on the lookout for great spots to recommend to clients, and recently I visited Mizu, an absolute gem located in the South Park area. Situated on the 9th floor of the Hyatt, this restaurant’s rooftop seating offers a beautifully designed space with stunning views. My mom and I started with the tuna tartare, which was fresh and expertly prepared. For our main courses, we enjoyed the salmon and sea bass. The overall ambiance made for a truly memorable evening. Whether you’re a real estate agent entertaining clients or a local looking for a delightful dining experience, I highly recommend Mizu.

I had an amazing experience for dinner. Everyone is so welcoming, the ambiance is great, and I loved the open kitchen when you walk in. Food was delicious. I had the potatoes and Lemon Drop sushi, the best sushi I’ve had in Charlotte so far (& I love sushi) ! Will definitely return and bring more friends.

I enjoyed it so much that I went for two days in a row. If we had stayed longer, I would have gone again.

The food was very tasty, with their fillet being the best melting steak ever, and the sides were out of this world. The Tuesday-Thursday specials are definitely worth visiting for. A special bonus is the sunset view and the atmosphere in general, which are both exceptional.

10/21/2024 went here for dinner with some family. We ordered the edamame, potatoes, mushroom, eggplant, brussel sprouts, and for the main entree I ordered the Chilean sea bass.

All of the small plates were delicious especially the edamame and brussel sprouts! The Sea bass was very plain, they poured some type of juice in the bowl plate but it didn't really contribute to flavor! The seabass needed something added! I put some of the soy sauce and the sauce the eggplant was in on top of the seabass and the made it a lot better!

Who eats just plain seabass without any type of marinade or sauce on top of it. Honestly even a tomato sauce with capers would of been good or a light lemon sauce.

For dessert we ordered the milkbread dessert and the kobacha pie which was like spiced pumpkin pie. The milkbread pie needed some type of liquid on top maybe a warm apple type sauce or something, or maybe even some condensed milk.

Personally I love regular pumpkin pie but the spiced kobacha pie was tasty. They had pumpkin seed brittle on the side which was yummy!

These are just my opinions only, each of us have our own ideas of what tastes good and what doesn't! Just be open minded and try different things!

I would recommend this place for a date night! The atmosphere was nice and relaxing and they had an outdoor balcony. It's on the 9th floor so there's a sunset view!

This was my 1st time here & every single thing gets five stars all around! The hostess, Ava, was super sweet in getting us to our table outside. When we got there we noticed there was a little framed note & a tin can of flowers on the table. They'd read our note on our reservation & planned prior to our arrival this little treat for our 10 year anniversary! How sweet?! Then, our server, Rezee, was just plain amazing! Super friendly and sweet! Literally everyone who came to our table to either bring food or drinks said hello & "Happy Anniversary!" Jonas stopped by to ask if there was anything we needed & took some photos for us during the sunset. The food was outstanding! We were gifted champagne to toast and some brussel sprouts to try, which were so flavorful! We ordered the firecracker shrimp (big in size & great flavor in the sauce), the wagyu filet (extremely tender), the Shrimp Crunch sushi & the Kawaii drink. All were so good & filling! Also, whether you're sitting inside or outside, the ambiance of both are so beautiful and welcoming. Evening time with the sunset & beautiful weather is great for the outdoor seating. I must say, tonight's entire experience really made our anniversary night that much better! I've never been to a restuarant that was so thoughtful & intentional with caring for their guests. I'm now a fan & will definitely be back soon and bring more people to experience how awesome this establishment is.

Just an awesome rooftop restaurant in Southpark. Valet parking that the restaurant comps, Food was exceptional and you have to try the old fashion! Food is so flavorful. Views are beautiful. You won't regret it.

One of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte thus far.

I have been twice, first time was ok, honestly not very memorable BUT… recently I went with my boyfriend on Valentine’s Day. MIZU’s Valentines menu was fabulous. We ordered one Prefixed men meal a ith Scallops, Filet and Pavlova for desert. Everything was fabulous. Cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. I ordered a few side items including the Brussels sprouts, Shrimp Crunch Roll and the Lobster from the wood fire grill and we shared everything. I highly recommend the roll and lobster!!!! The Brussels were pretty good but I’ve had better.

I would eat everything again and even better than the food, the service was wonderful. Kim was very attentive and great with helping with making our decisions.

I can’t wait to come back and will recommend to my friends!

Beware it is hard to see, but the Valet is complimentary!!! We drove by and didn’t see the sign at first, came back after we couldn’t find a spot and luckily the valet is validated in the restaurant and we just left a tip! Fabulous night overall!

My husband and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary this evening, we weren't expecting much, just a nice dinner without the kids and normally we like to laugh about our terrible outings because it has seem to become tradition to get the worst table and service each time we find time to have a date night but Christina (Chrissy) at Mizu absolutely wowed us with her service tonight and the food was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly pleasant and attentive throughout the evening, starting us out with a champagne toast to celebrate our special night. From the sushi, to the appetizer, to the entree, everything was delicious. I don't have a single negative thing to say. The operations here between management and servers were top notch and we would recommend to everyone to come here. Thank you to everyone who made our night special.

Our first time there for our anniversary, we were amazed with the service from everyone! They understood the occasion and delivered first class service and atmosphere. Lina was amazing and. empathetic towards us and our occasion. The manager checked in on us a few times ensuring that all was good. We could not be more grateful for our first Mizu experience. Def coming back.

Came to this establishment with a group of friends. We made reservations as recommended by our hotel (the same building that this restaurant is apart of, Hotel Centric) for Sunday evening trying to have a nice meal before we leave the next day. There weren’t many tables that were taken and we were seated immediately.
Drinks and appetizers were ordered and were received in a decently timed manner. However once we finished the drinks we began to order two at a time due to the time it took to receive the first round. There was one bartender, but as mentioned before the establishment was not busy. Main entrees were ordered, several sushi rolls, CAB short rib ($69), and sides to be paired with dinner. We were made aware that the short rib was going to take 30 minutes to prepare and we agreed to the time.
An hour passes and our first round of sushi has arrived! Now as a sushi eater I know that freshly rolled sushi paper is not soggy and has not clinged to the rice unless it’s been sitting out for a long while. Well that’s how all of our sushi rolls arrived. We questioned our waitress why the seaweed paper was soggy and to our avail she just apologized for the inconvenience. We unfortunately did not get to eat the sushi as they were taken away due to our not liking them.

We asked about our short ribs at this time because our friends have began to receive their main entrees. We were told it would be a little while longer. We waited patiently and as another hour passes we asked for the manager to find out where the main entree could possibly be. He said it would be right out and that they are working with a skeleton crew on a Sunday evening. Per the manager the wait time for this dish was going to be an unreasonably amount of time. We weren’t notified about this amount of time and unfortunately have lost our appetite from waiting 2.5 hours for a meal. The manager was completely useless in correcting these mistakes and still had the audacity of charging me for a complete bill of $770. The waitress was somewhat helpful by telling us to at the owner or other manager was going to be contacting me to correct this. Still have not received a phone call nor email from this person. I have tried many attempts to call and left my information for a follow up. Nada.
Would not recommend this establishment to anyone with a group of people.

I held a business dinner at Mizu last night and I have to say for a $1200 dinner, I wasn't that impressed. I've been to all of the other restaurant groups concepts including Oku and Indaco and they are much better. Bao buns are one of our absolute favorites and we get them often at dinner and these were just not great. The bun should be pillowy and soft whereas this one had a hard, stale texture. The scallops were strange and rubbery. The chicken was the best skewer but, it was chicken so nothing special.
The sushi rolls were good and the short rib was EXCELLENT (by far the best thing) but it took a long time. We were full and done with all the other courses when it came out so I felt we couldn't fully enjoy it.

All in all I don't think I'd go back and certainly would have a hard time justifying spending $1000+ here again.

I absolutely love the vibe at Mizu, it was warm and inviting. The food selections were great and the service was amazing. I have to acknowledge Vitres Fontaine for being such a wonderful part of the great experiences that I have had at Mizu. Vitres made sure that nothing was lacking.

While staying at the Hyatt Centric, I ordered room service from this restaurant. I ordered something simple (chicken tenders and fries) and I'm not quite sure what was delivered. It sort of tasted like chicken but it didn't look like chicken. I recognize this is not an American food restaurant but why put it in the menu if it's something you know is not going to taste good? To make matters worse, the hostess was EXTREMELY rude, unprofessional, and dismissive. She is in her early twenties (by all appearances) and she may not know how to treat customers yet, however, I find that hard to believe because she was working on a very busy night...so perhaps the restaurant doesn't care how customers are treated? Either way, I won't return to this restaurant but love the hotel!

This was one of the best dining experiences my wife and I have ever had. We did the option that allows you to try all of the different options, and it was truly an amazing experience. Julianne was our server and she couldn’t have been any better. We will definitely be back.

I’m going to chalk it up to not enough training, but tonight our group had some of the worst service I’ve ever had in a restaurant.

Took 15 minutes to get water. We had complimentary small plate coupons from the hotel that we had to debate with our server to have honored - after taking our orders she said she’d go confirm whether the coupons could apply and never returned. Eventually the food did come but we had to ask other servers and runners for silverware that also never came - one person in our party literally ate his fried rice with his hands, another went and grabbed roll-ups for us himself.

Some of the food never came, but was also not billed. When the checks came, some of us were still charged full price despite the coupons, then the server left and came back 10 minutes later to let us know she’d mixed up our checks and cards. Ultimately getting the checks and billing sorted out took nearly as long as the meal. Really just a brutal experience. I would say I’m surprised we stuck it out, but two members of our party did grow so impatient that they canceled their orders and left. The food was fine but nothing special, and definitely not worth the lack of hospitality or the headache of the experience as a whole.

Great Atmosphere! Manager was super friendly and kind and offered us all the help we needed. Was my first time and he mentioned a brunch that I will be back for and explained how the idea for all started with all of the companies other resteraunts also. Quiet and well respected place. Food quality was on point. Even the appetizers were great! The waitress, Rezee, was amazing and very patient with my friends and I. Defiantly recommend 10/10 to try out. The A5 Wagyu is amazing and was my favorite. Thank you very much!

My partner and I go to Mizu multiple times a month because the staff, the atmosphere and the food are just incredible. V always makes sure we feel taken care of and welcome. I also have a million food allergies and they are nothing but accommodating.

My favorite dishes are the yakitori, negi-ma, and crispy potatoes. I also love the fried rice, waygu, and every thing else I’ve tried.

Everytime my wife & I go to Mizu we have a good time. We have been to Mizu 5 times. Sadly this will be our last visit. We are moving out the country & wish we could take Mizu with us. Vitres has always treated us well. The Fried rice with crab was really good. The crispy potatoes were so crispy and delicious. THE tuna Tartar was bussin. The Chicken Yakatori was so flavorful. Savannah was a great server. Came by often to check on us. Oh the miso ice cream is a must every time we come. It hits everytime. Thank you for the staff at Mizu!!! We shall see you again

This places is amazing and I highly recommend. I went for brunch and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Japanese souffle pancakes, egg sushi roll, bacon, and the espresso martini. OMG!! This is my new fav brunch spot. The manager Vitres was so dope. He was very attentive, friendly, and gave great recommendations on the food. I sat outside on the rooftop in the shade overlooking Southpark, listening to music and it was a whole vibe, check it out for yourself.

Venue: the pictures look much better than in person per my opinion.
Service: somewhat slow but friendly.

Why 3 stars? Well it was a special occasion and that is the reason I wanted to check this restaurant. The restaurant didn't provide anything special. Server told us nothing for special days if birthday the candle added in the dessert was special. That's all.

Honestly, honestly, I was not impressed. Everything was lackluster. Nothing really had seasoning or flavor. The lemon drop sushi was the best thing that hit the table and so was the pork belly buns ( a Little tough on The Edges) that was about it. The lobster was cooked well but again no seasoning.. the firecracker shrimp was way too salty and tasted like pure mayonnaise. No spice.. Random people kept checking on us besides our waiter, which was kind of weird to me. Drinks weren’t good either. I had the espresso martini and another signature cocktail. I did not even finish either one definitely not worth takeout boxes. Also, the outdoor seating tables were awfully small. There were no table covers, so it was just rugged wood.. there was really no decorations no music. Staff kept interrupting me and my conversations repeatedly. Dessert tasted cheap. The crust was too hard on the cheesecake. Yellow was fresh. Tasted OK.. overall the food looked better than it tasted pretty much. Our Waitress came off passive aggressive.

Checked out Mizu in Southpark today and I swear, it is a hidden gem! From start to finish, everything was amazing. The service, the food, the variety, the ambience…every single thing.

It was my husbands bday and they sent out champagne for both, a shrimp app AND a desert…all complimentary.

We ended up being there for happy hour and got a bunch of selections (kind of tapas style to share).

Prices were very reasonable…before tip it was just over $100 for both of us (including 3 drinks!).

We can’t wait to go back!

Our waitress Kim was attentive and knowledgeable. All the food was great! We enjoyed the brussel sprouts, Iron Man sushi, firecracker shrimp, and fried rice. Everything was shareable, the firecracker shrimp were raved about by the table next to us and they did not disappoint. We will be back!

Good food, terrible service. Went with my family for dinner on a Saturday and the restaurant was extremely busy. We waited around 40 minutes from when we ordered until our food came. On top of that, the waiter messed up our order twice. First, we asked for none of our dishes to be spicy, but they put a spicy sauce all over one of our rolls. Second, she waited 1 hour after we ordered to tell me that my entre wasn’t available anymore and I had to reorder. Really unprofessional and the kitchen seemed chaotic. The only thing saving this review was that the food was decent.

Rooftop is what attracts people, I think. Sushi isn't bad, service desires improvement. I didn't like how unclean the pillows were on the outdoor chairs. Garden on the roof was beautiful.

Fantastic waiter. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and they offered us free champagne, but we don’t drink so they gave us a free dessert instead. We were really surprised that the Monday-Thursday Happy Hour was not just limited to the bar area. We would have loved to have eaten outside, but they didn’t have any shade. Also, I was bummed they didn’t have iced tea. Besides that, everything was really tasty and can’t beat the happy hour pricing.

What a fantastic night!! We came for my Dad’s 74th birthday and the staff was amazing. Each person who came by wished my Dad a “Happy Birthday” and the food was outstanding. But what stood out the most was our server Rezee!!! She went above and beyond to make our experience the best it could be!!!! She’s the best!! Thank you to everyone and to the Chef for the amazing food!!!!

The service was good the atmosphere is great, but for me the most important part of a restaurant is the food and the food here was very disappointing. The food was tasteless and my passion fruit curd in the Japanese pancakes was bad, we got food poisoning with the brunch in this restaurant.

Another delicious restaurant from the Indigo Road Hospitality Group! Every restaurant they run is spectacular! From O-Ku to Oak Steakhouse to the newly opened Luminosa in Asheville, N.C. They are consistently on point, start to finish! Delicious, fresh food & inventive cocktails. Chrissy was the perfect server!

Great experience! Food was amazing and the service was spot on! The ONLY negative was that the red snapper was slightly overcooked. The taste was still exquisite. The Robata Counter is totally worth the price!

The food at this Mizu was kind of disappointing, especially the sushi, which was extremely overpriced for its poor quality.

The service was also lacking, with long wait times and staff clearing plates while we were still eating. Also we only had forks at the table and no knives, so had to ask for that too..
Additionally, dishes didn’t arrive at the same time, so we couldn’t eat together..

On a positive note, the location is beautiful, offering a great view from the terrace. However, the interior was unfortunately very noisy, detracting from the overall dining experience.
I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant! If prices in that range are charged, the food and service should have a higher quality!

The food was great as well as the drinks. The atmosphere was great as well with the rooftop. The only complaint I have is the service was not good at all. Our party had allergies and asked for certain food items to not be included on their food and unfortunately had to send back multiple items. We also ordered ala carte items and two of them never showed. On top of that the waitress was very unfriendly towards our group and had poor customer service. Would love to go back again but not sure if I'd be convinced because of the customer service unfortunately.

Celebrated my anniversary here. We had our first date here and we come back each year. Never disappoints. This time we had the miso and pistachio ice cream sandwich and the green tea cheesecake with cocktails. I love their food too and we have enjoyed it on many occasions. We will be back! I had a fantastic experience here. My family and I went for my dad's birthday and the service was top tier. When booking the reservation they asked what kind of beer my dad likes. When we told them, they said they didn't keep one of his favorites in stock, but the staff went and picked it up specifically for us. They didn't even charge us extra for the beer. The food was delicious, and the the atmosphere was very elegant and relaxing. Definitely one of the best restaurants I've been to.

Jonas stopped by to ask if there was anything we needed & took some photos for us during the sunset. The food was outstanding! We were gifted champagne to toast and some brussel sprouts to try, which were so flavorful! We ordered the firecracker shrimp (big in size & great flavor in the sauce), the wagyu filet (extremely tender), the Shrimp Crunch sushi & the Kawaii drink. All were so good & filling! Also, whether you're sitting inside or outside, the ambiance of both are so beautiful and welcoming. Evening time with the sunset & beautiful weather is great for the outdoor seating. I must say, tonight's entire experience really made our anniversary night that much better! I've never been to a restuarant that was so thoughtful & intentional with caring for their guests. I'm now a fan & will definitely be back soon and bring more people to experience how awesome this establishment is.

I had the most delightful experience from tye moment I walked in. I received a warm welcome from the host, and was additionally welcomed by the GM Vitres. My server Abyasinna was beyond amazing, completely tailored my first time experience and I enjoyed every moment of it. Amazing first time experience and I'll definitely be back soon.

This restaurant was good. There were a good variety of appetizers to choose from and entrees also. Now there were more seafood entrees versus chicken or pork but they still had some of those options for people like me who don’t enjoy seafood. I ordered a steak to eat along with some good appetizers. I ordered my steak medium well and it came out really redder than what I had wanted. If I wasn’t pregnant I would have ate that steak up, but I was. I do believe the steak needed more seasoning. It was a bit blend. A1 steak sauce was definitely needed. I also did order the pork belly buns that were super delicious! I also did get the chance to eat the chicken katsu sliders! These were by far the best dish I ate there. I ordered and had the opportunity to try their food because I went with a big group who ordered different types of food. Overall, I would come back to eat again. This place was pricey jsyk.

The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly and went above and beyond! We told our waitress we are expecting our first baby casually and never expected to finish dinner with the sweetest card, sorbet, and grilled pineapple she brought out just to say congratulations. It was so kind! The GM and host were both so kind also. Will definitely be back asap. Also recommend dinner during sunset because the view is amazing!

One of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte thus far.

I have been twice, first time was ok, honestly not very memorable BUT… recently I went with my boyfriend on Valentine’s Day. MIZU’s Valentines menu was fabulous. We ordered one Prefixed men meal a ith Scallops, Filet and Pavlova for desert. Everything was fabulous. Cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. I ordered a few side items including the Brussels sprouts, Shrimp Crunch Roll and the Lobster from the wood fire grill and we shared everything. I highly recommend the roll and lobster!!!! The Brussels were pretty good but I’ve had better.

I would eat everything again and even better than the food, the service was wonderful. Kim was very attentive and great with helping with making our decisions.

I can’t wait to come back and will recommend to my friends!

Beware it is hard to see, but the Valet is complimentary!!! We drove by and didn’t see the sign at first, came back after we couldn’t find a spot and luckily the valet is validated in the restaurant and we just left a tip! Fabulous night overall!

Every meal at Mizu has been incredible and they exceeded expectations last night as we celebrate my husband's birthday. I had indicated via Open Table that we were celebrating a special occasion and the restaurant reached out in advance to get additional information. They took what I shared and created a personalized and unforgettable experience. Our waitress Ju-Ju was so friendly and attentive making sure we had everything we need for a perfect evening. Cannot thank her and the team enough for the best experience I've had at a restaurant! And of course every dish and drink was delicious!

I'm a little torn with this place... While the service was exceptional, I can't say the same for the food. I think our edamame was probably the best. I ordered veggie fried rice for my first course (tasted extremely fishy), salmon and the forbidden rice for my main course (lacked flavor until I added the teriyaki sauce from my friends chicken skewers), and the had cheesecake with green tea that lacked flavor and texture. It was just weird. The GM was super sweet and our waitstaff, but it's the food that will probably keep me away.

Beautiful place. The view was spectacular. I can't wait to go this summer and sit on their terrace.
The staff, from the hosts to the servers to the chefs were stellar.
We had the queens feast menu for restaurant week and all of the food was delicious and satisfying portions, which was unexpected for a tasting menu. I didn't get any drinks, but they have some intriguing alcoholic and mocktail options.

It’s a shame that this restaurant have a Japanese name. We thought we will be eating quality food. One of our order was pork chops. Because the chops are 2 inch thick.. they mistakenly served it raw.. so we thought.. We ask for a new one.. then it came out raw again.. even our server face have that Eeek Face when she saw it. Service is a 3/5 and ambiance is 5/5. If you are going here.. you’re not going because the food is great..

Spent my birthday at Mizu and from valet, ambiance, to the hostess, the customer service was immaculate! I had the crab sushi rolls and they even gave me a complimentary glass of champagne. I am looking forward to visiting this restaurant again.

I made reservations for 5pm. My sister and I arrived at our assigned time. The restaurant as clean and classy. I love the ambience and view. It was warm in vibe and very chill. My waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions. I ordered the fish and sushi, both dishes were flavorful and good. I will definitely visit here again. Loved the food, atmosphere, and service. Stay away from the crispy potatoes they were not crispy and neither were they good.

Loved this place!!! I was staying in the hotel and casually decided to try the in-house restaurant out for brunch (after a reco from a very kind guy at the front desk of hotel).

It did not disappoint! The service was great, timely and friendly. The food was delicious and prepared with care, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy (meaning, they still took the time and effort to prepare the food correctly vs phoning it in).

Three Eggs dish, Pancakes, French Press coffee, Bespoke Citrus water.

I wish I was staying longer to try out for dinner.

Juanita, our waitress was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and directed our brunch fabulously. The food, possibly the best in Charlotte! The menu a blend of sushi and other Asian flavors. The 9th floor location offers a great view of Charlotte. Its location in an hotel is surprising but way above most hotel food.

Just walked back to our room after eating at Mizu and the service from Abysinnia was so good that i started writing this review immediately. We were very surprised to learn that she is new there, especially since she was so knowledgeable and confident. The service was amazing , the food was great, and the ambiance was beautiful. Definitely give it a try!

We choose Mizu to be our business dinner place where if offer beautiful design, rooftop style, decorated foods style, and maybe fusion style? 😅

I love ordering the foods during large business group because they will order non-stop and I get to try everything to max my experience. in Mizu, we made no exception, from surf-to-turf, savory-to-sweet, Japan-to-american. after trying all the foods, I will give average 7.5 to every foods that are served, I can definitely taste to see they try to infused the east meets west favorite when you find a cauliflower puree by the steak, fat pork belly bao, fried chicken kasu slider, carrot fried rice 🥕🍚. one of the worst combination in my opinion is maybe a mushroom favorite based king crab leg, the chief creation is definitely very bold and fearless. besides the foods, the waitress are attention to the detail, friendly and serving time is appropriate that up the point for this place.

We end up consume around $50 pre person with foods and alcohol, you will be the judge if you think the foods are worth the money you pay. It's just Not For Me 😅

P.S Carrot favorite fried rice?? please correct me if I guess it wrong? 😑. 🥕

This restaurant is in the Hyatt Centric Hotel and you'll take the elevator up. The restaurant seating is weird on the side in which we were seated. Huge booths to seat 2-6 people which actually looked nice, yet our party of 2 was seated at a tiny, shifty table shoved against a dirty wall towards the back. My glass was even dirty - fingerprints, smears, lip prints.

The food, for the pricing, was meh. Although, my partner did love their sushi and the edamame was fantastic. The crispy potatoes were beyond crispy and actually charred/burnt. The siracha aoli that came with was not enough to make the non-burnt pieces enjoyably edible. Unseasoned, bland and burnt potatoes. The pork belly had a good flavor but the pieces were also crispy to the point of being unchewable. The buns themselves were dry and did not seem fresh. I am not a sushi fan, so I tried the pork chop. I'm not sure what happened there. While cooked perfectly as I requested (which normally doesn't happen anywhere so kudos for that), the glaze on the chop did nothing for the dish, unsure why it was there. The sweet potatoes on the plate? Unappealing to say the least. Presentation was actually terrible. A bone-in pork chop on top of a puddle of black/brown looking mush that was supposed to be sweet potatoes. I'm not sure how to eat a pork chop with chopsticks and since I was not presented with any silverware, I had to ask for it.

Our server started out well but then disappeared for long periods of time, forgetting to bring my beverage and after waiting 20 minutes for it we had to flag down a passing hostess to request it again. The edamame made me super thirsty. I do understand staffing shortages but at that point I was already annoyed from the food. While waiting for my fountain drink from the first request, I watched the woman at the table in front of us send back 3 different drinks to the bar because she didn't like how they tasted. That's how many times her server checked on her table, meanwhile mine was nowhere to be found.

Super disappointing evening. The best thing about this night out was the sushi, the edamame and the valet out front. He was pleasant, kind and quick. If I do return it will only be for drinks at the bar, which looked really nice.

My husband and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary this evening, we weren't expecting much, just a nice dinner without the kids and normally we like to laugh about our terrible outings because it has seem to become tradition to get the worst table and service each time we find time to have a date night but Christina (Chrissy) at Mizu absolutely wowed us with her service tonight and the food was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly pleasant and attentive throughout the evening, starting us out with a champagne toast to celebrate our special night. From the sushi, to the appetizer, to the entree, everything was delicious. I don't have a single negative thing to say. The operations here between management and servers were top notch and we would recommend to everyone to come here. Thank you to everyone who made our night special.

Don't go to this sushi restaurant expecting traditional sushi staples, a sushi menu, or nigiri. This is a corporate sushi establishment and there is an extremely limited menu to choose from.

Great place and pretty decent view from the rooftop. We got an yakitori (grilled chicken) and it was very juicy and loved the flavor. Entree was a hit and a miss. Pork chop was not very tender and little chewy, but the salmon was excellent. Staff were friendly and offered us free shrimp cocktail since it was our first time at the restaurant which was very sweet.

Bad start and with the food, definitely got worse. The greeter was indignant at best and when her colleague arrived, the private chat, whispering and laughter (under their breath, in front of us) was the absolutely worst first impression. Waitress was fine but no knowledge of Japanese cuisine and Japan (we’ve been there at least two dozen times). Now to the food, it was seriously awful, the robata food was all undercooked, had zero char and zero grill/charcoal flavor. The maki were all so salty, one couldn’t pick up any other flavor than very salty soy sauce, oh and the Ironman maki with the sirloin steak was seriously uneatable as the steak was such poor quality. Overall, a very disappointing experience from start to finish.

Best cod I’ve had at a restaurant in Charlotte. It had a delicious flavor, so good I could hardly put my fork down. And they made the skin so crispy so it added to every bite. I would not recommend the tuna tartare starter… just doesn’t seem worth the money for 4 tiny crackers with thinly sliced tuna on them. The Iron Man was a hearty, filling and delicious roll and the octopus shareable was very tasty, sitting in a nice sauce. Another unexpected treat we had was the sake: We purchased a bottle of the lowest priced sake and it was SO GOOD. A bottle pots about 7-8 little glasses, so it went a very long way!

What was exceptional:
The brussel sprouts were the best in every way. The portion, the seasoning, were perfectly roasted. 10 stars out of 5. The firecracker shrimp was also amazing. Large sized shrimp, fantastic flavor. The ginger beer was perfect too, a good bite to it. (Wish I had several of those, instead of the small/overpriced Mule With No Name)

The service was attentive, the view was pretty (didn't get to sit outside because of the earlier rain, so everything was damp), and the interior decor/vibe was enjoyable.

Opportunities:
Our water tasted really odd. Not sure if it was the orange (we loved the server coming by with fruit options for the water); or if the ice or glasses had some cleaner/residue on it. But the water was really "off". (They did offer us a bottle as an option)

The octopus was undercooked. Better to undercook than overcook, but ours was really chewy/rubbery. It took me 5 minutes to swallow my first piece. The odd thing, was we felt like they used the same sauce from the yaki-tori on our octopus, and it was quite bland.

I went to Mizu a couple of times and every time I have always been pleasantly surprised with great food, service, and a beautiful view. Plates are tapa style so we did a lot sharing and were able to try many different plates. My favorite is the wagyu that is cooked infront of you. Leave space for desert, you can’t miss out. Would recommend to anyone who wants a nice dinner.

The view and the service remain excellent. The food was so good when they first opened, but now, not so much. I hope they can course-correct. This week, the food was not hot when served, which is kind of a basic requirement. And, the place was about empty on a Sunday night so it's not like the kitchen or staff were overwhelmed.

Phenomenal venue and menu. Dinner was amazing during restaurant week with great options from start to finish. The service was also good. The manager was lind enough to substitute for veg options although they are not listed on the menu... just ask. They also accommodate food allergies. The meal was prepared to perfection. I was looking to take my family to a nice place where it didn’t get too rowdy or obnoxiously loud. I am thrilled this place is so exceptional at service, positive attitude on the part of the staff and the quality of the food!
Everything was well done. It has an open kitchen but the hidden sound proofing makes it feel like a real dining experience.
I hope they always maintain the quality of food, service and attitude. I will keep returning.
Everything we ordered was done impressively in terms of cooking temp delivered to us, not over cooked and well thought out. It’s artistic but substantial. 😃
The rooftop view is incredible and the background music is not overbearing. It’s a great date place!

I did not have any food in the restaurant but did go into the bar area to have some drinks and sit outside. The next time I'm in town I'll be sure to have some food at the restaurant. If you want to sit outside on the top floor, there's a designated seating area that does not require any reservations in the first part of the outdoor area. So that's pretty good. And I set up there for two nights just chilling and on the second night I got to see some fireworks in the distance. There's no wait staff for the outside or the bar area so you have to go to the bar and order your own drinks. Overall not much to complain about and next month I hope to make it back and I'll check out the restaurant.

Really average place with super high prices. Black cod was $39 for a small piece of fish. Was tasteless. Mushrooms were bland. Sushi was ok. We were a party of 11. They brought out 1 plate at a time, tapas style. Which was really awkward as it meant some people would get some food and others wouldn’t. For that size group they should have asked us if we wanted the food together.

Overall not worth the money. But the view from the rooftop was good.

We gave Mizu a try this week. It was raining so we sat inside (want to try to outdoor patio! Two of us for dinner and we tried a number of small plates and a roll along with a couple cocktails each. We had the tuna crisp, iron man roll, pork belly buns, firecracker shrimp, and cheese cake for dessert. The tuna was great, the iron man roll was unique and yum, we would pass on the pork belly next time (pork was too chewy), shrimp were good, and the cheese cake was delicious. Almost forgot - we had edamame as well with a ridiculous garlic, chili topping- probably some of the best I’ve had (and I’ve had a lot)!

Good stuff. We will come back. Shooting for happy hour on the patio. Think they do happy hour from 5-7.

The first time I went to Mizu everything was 5 stars. We sat at the bar and got great food and drink recommendations and remarkable service. The octopus we ordered cut like butter and melted in our mouths. However, we went again last night - sat at the bar and got mediocre service - not as attentive as last time and sat several times with no menu and empty glasses. Again, we ordered the octopus (and had returned primarily for this) - it was the worst we'd ever had - so tough that it was challenging to cut and flavorless. We mentioned it to two of the bartenders - they just shrugged. I actually called the manager over and explained - he said he would take it off the bill - he didn't. My last glass of wine was about half of the previous pour.

It's a beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous outdoor patio. I'm disappointed we didn't have the same experience as the first time.

Great service, good food, decent cocktails. Wouldn't classify as a typical seafood restaurant, even though there are seafood/fish items on the menu. Small plate options and many menu items are GF. More of a fusion type restaurant with an Asian flair. Generous size sushi rolls. The cauliflower is tops...looks and tastes like sesame chicken! Located on the 9th floor of the Hyatt Centric hotel with a separate bar, inside and rooftop lounging area in addition to the restaurant.

Brought my mother in law here for her birthday and not only was everything we ordered was delicious(try the grits) but the entire staff was super generous and helped make her birthday a memorable one. They even had the working staff sign a happy birthday card for her which was a really thoughtful touch, would definitely reccomend this place a million times and can't wait to come back again for some more delicious food and great hospitality :)

I just googled an Italian restaurant that stayed open a little late and this place popped up. I order the meatballs and ravioli. The food was delicious and the people were great. I met some cool people and they setting has an intimate family oriented feel, which i really enjoyed. If you want good food and a good vibe i reckoned you try this spot.

I wish I could share more but this is what was left. Pictured are Brussel sprouts, crispy potatoes and the steak tapas. We also had the shrimp cocktail and chicken thighs. The adult beverages were excellent but pricey but nowadays it's the norm. I highly recommend!

Very cool spot on tye 9th floor of the Hyatt Centric Hotel. Service until 10 during the week, it was a nice end to a day of travel to the Queen City.

At first glance this seemed like a place with its face firmly planted up its own butt that it's amazing it can't see it's full of........ Our waiter was absolutely amazing but that's about it. Don't get me wrong, it a good restaurant but when you are paying these prices it better be more than just good. My family was staying in the hotel and went up Saturday sans reservations and understandably were told it was a long wait so we made reservations for the next day. With expectations set high it deffo didn't live up to it. It totally reminded me of the family guy where the clam tries to get modern and makes Korean tacos. Like don't try so hard bro. This is definitely a place that's rated good cuz people like to dress up and feel rich and seen to go to. If you want good food and don't care to be 'seen' eating good food go somewhere else. One star cuz the elevator was fast, and the waiter, she was great.

The food was cooked to PERFECTION! I had the Brussell Sprouts and my friend had the Porkchop! Umm, Umm SO GOOD!
