Me and my family come here at least once a month. The food has always been fine but the service lacked. When we met the new owner, Asian lady, we were so excited because she is awesome. Tonight me and my family tried to go eat dinner, we got there at around 6 pm, we go early so there is less wait. There were literally at least 10 tables open, that we could see 3 feet from the front door. The “host” a 50-55 year old man told us we had to wait. Okay no problem, he made us wait 20 minutes before I said can we please just sit down, it’s okay if the servers can’t get to us for a while, very unprofessionally looks at me and my family and says one minute I am waiting for a waiter????? What in the world does that have to do with us just sitting down??? This guy knows nothing about how to talk to people let alone run the front house. Very unfortunate because we like the food. I looked at my wife and said do you still want to eat here, she said no, not after being treated like that. So we went down the road to Wasabi.

As a family we have been going here since they originally opened. It seems ever since the new ownership the food has gone down and continues to do so. 6 of us were there today and it may have been our last. The sushi was only ok. And everything else was sub par. The hibachi did not taste good. They left out some of the veggies to boot. But even starting with the the salad, the ginger dressing didn't even taste like ginger dressing and regardless was not tasty. Even the fried rice was bad. Out of 6 of us no one thought it was good. When the waiter asked I let him know it wasn't good and he just said sorry. I get it but would have been nice to see something come off the more than 200 bill. Anyway maybe there are others who have experienced their decline. Hope this helps anyone looking for some good Japanese food. Move on to some place else if you can.

This was our go to place for Asian and after the pandemic, food went downhill fast which was disappointing. But they have made a huge comeback! The food was amazing and back to where it use to be and maybe even better! Keep it up Tasu and will be back again very soon!!

Tasu was a very pleasant experience, comfortable and enjoyable with plenty of style. Their wide selection of sushi and sake was exactly what I wanted, and the dish quality was excellent. Of note were the fresh, bright flavor in the Fabulous and Donkey sushi rolls I tried. Lively mango and a hint of spice gave ensured a tasty experience for each. I also had the Thai Cashew Stir Fry and it was well balanced between savory and sweet, sitting nicely on well executed jasmine rice. Overall an excellent experience and one I will repeat.

Ordered the massaman curry and it was a big let down. We ordered it medium but it wasn’t spicy in the least. I know massaman tends to be a little sweet but this was a strange sweet taste. Nothing like I’ve ever had before (and not in a good way). The potatoes and carrots are cut like a crinkle fry, and they have zero flavor and a weird texture. Last time we got the green curry, medium, and it was insanely spicy but at least decent flavor. Twice within a few weeks and both have been fails. Not sure I want to try again for a 3rd disappointment.

I've never been here before but I'm definitely coming back to eat soon! I popped in to have a drink at the bar and the food and drink menu looked incredible. I got this beautiful craft cocktail that the bartender Desiree made, and it was delicious! The staff was so friendly and service was great. Looking forward to going back to try a new cocktail and a meal.

This is my second time trying this restaurant! The first time I tried the Pho..it was satisfactory 7/10. Today, I decided to try the chicken pad Thai. My hopes were high. Two people said it was very good so I said I’d try it as it is my favorite and I was hungry.

Sad to say, it didn’t come close to meeting my expectations for a good pad Thai. There was very little flavor. I decided to send it back and order the pho. I’d had it before so I felt safe.

I took it to go. They don’t offer Togo soup spoons.The broth was in a small container that would not allow you to add the content of the pho if you are traveling or going back to work.

Overall, I was disappointed with the pad Thai and the takeout presentation of the Pho. Most Togo Pho comes with the noodles and others ingredients in a big bowl with the broth in a separate container & a SPOON!

When checking out I reviewed my bill. The pad Thai had not been moved. The manager said he could remove the pad Thai THIS time but noted they normally make you pay for something even if you send it back. This was not mentioned when I asked to send the pad Thai back to order the pho! This should be communicated if it is the policy.

I don’t recommend this Bistro.

The sever was professional which was appreciated. I tipped her well.

The woman who makes the coconut soup did an absolute AMAZING job! I believe she said she was from Thailand and she made the soup. It was the most delicious thing I have ever eaten. It was so flavorful and cooked to perfection! The sushi was also delightful. I am never disappointed. Fantastic!!

We went to the restaurant located in Cary and the food, service and atmosphere was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. We will definitely be coming back to dine in! The portion sizes for the entrees were quite generous. Had lunch today and it is the worst food I've ever had in Cary. Their BOGO sushi rolls are beyond cheap. There was no fish and just deep fried rice. Awful! I sent it back but paid for it and tipped because I felt sorry for the waiter. Just don't go. This is the second inedible meal I've had here. I won't be back.

Last night, I had dinner here with my family. While we were all trying to sit down at the table, the server asked us what we would like to drink. My girlfriend, who was busy trying to sit down, verbally stumbled a bit when trying to answer. The server replied with something like "It's not a trick question" and then proceeded to do his impression of a mentally impaired person by saying "uh duh; uh duh; uhh duhh" while making a face. Absolutely stunned, I managed to say that we would like some waters to start, and the server walked away. The server didn't act mean - I think he actually thought it was funny to mock mentally impaired people, and/or to imply that his customers are mentally challenged. I've never been more stunned in my life.

Well I give it a 1 star because lazy employees that don’t want to work told me they were closing. We got there at 8:37pm website and google said they close at 9:30 when I got there they said new closing hours is 9:00 pm. Now in my world any restaurant that states. Closing time is the time that they stop serving so we still had 23 minutes to get food. Unfortunately this screws up the owners. If one of the owners wants to contact me I can discuss and potentially remove review. Date was 12.22.23 so you know what employees to yell at.

We did get there about 90 min before closing, so keep that in mind. Son and his GF ordered sushi which they said was good. I ordered steak hibachi. The miso soup was incredibly salty and I’m a salt feen. I ordered an additional side salad, that I never got (nor was I charged for it). My steak hibachi didn’t taste freshly cooked. It was on the very well done side (I ordered it medium) and was so sauced up, again salty as hell. I felt as if it was cooked earlier in the day and it sat at the bottom of the pot. The pieces were small and charred. Overall I spent $86, not including the 20% tip and was not impressed. My tongue had the salt burned sensation a good 2 hrs afterwards.

I have lived in Cary for over twenty years and have never been so disrespected. My Dog and I stopped to sit down outside. Sunday evening (10/01/23). I waited for a few minutes no one came out to greet or ask me if I needed anything. Then my Dog Nipper got sick, So I finally got someones attention, the first that came out of the waitresses mouth are you ok??? I said yes my Dog got sick can I get some paper towels to clean it up; and can I get some water for self & a menu. She brought out the menus, and no water. Then someone came out to help clean up Nipper’s mess. Then the manager came out, and said My dog I have to leave. Oh, by the way restaurant manager I’m US Navy Veteran. So much for Thanks for your service/ Support!!??

This was my go to sushi place for over a decade. I took a pause for a bit, due to living out of the area. The staff is still phenomenal. Very friendly and quick. Orders come out great too. That being said, the elimination of the BOGO on the full sushi menu really pushes me away. The simple list they kept for BOGO is very underwhelming and I can’t fathom paying $35-40 for two rolls of sushi. It disappoints me they went in this direction with their menu.

We stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday. Just wanted a couple of drinks and a couple of rolls. We should have left as soon as we were shown to our table. The floors were oddly sticky. They were out of Chardonnay and several beers. My partner ordered a gin and tonic (double), got a watered down single. Sushi was fine. This place reeks of a failing restaurant. If you aren’t fully stocked in the middle of the week and your restaurant is dirty, odds are it’s already in the death spiral.

Went last night with my dad for an early Father’s Day dinner. I’ve been here 3 times in 3 months and the food has been consistently excellent. That’s the reason I’ve been back, despite it being so poorly managed. As others have commented, the lack of servers is uncomfortably apparent as 2 waitresses scurried around for the 2 hours we were there trying to wait on the inside and outside tables. Our waitress was very attentive as we were taking our time to order and enjoying the weather and outdoor seating. (I also wholeheartedly agree with previous comments that the indoor environment is way too warm to the point of sweating during dinner- $$ issues?). We ordered a poke bowl and hibachi which took awhile to get but enjoyed our wine while we waited. Then I asked for another round of wine. The waitress came back with one partial glass of wine and explained that they ran out. No Chardonnay in the entire restaurant at 7:30 on a Tuesday night. So dad ordered a gin & tonic. 10 minutes later he received a gin & soda which he sent back and explained he wanted tonic. She took the drink back and the manager/bartender/server ( he was filling many roles and none of them well) came out to tell us they ran out of tonic. Dad settled on a beer. While disappointing, we were more concerned with how upset our poor waitress was over the confusion and having to come back repeatedly to apologize. We assured her we were not upset, and definitely not upset with her, and I left her a nice tip.

We won’t be going back any time soon and my guess is they won’t be in business at that location much longer if they don’t get it together. Very unfortunate.

The large wonton soup is an extremely small size for the $13.99 they charge. They keep on experimenting with the sizes of the soups and it is now unacceptable. They have also rid the menu of buy one get one sushi for most sushi rolls, relegating it to a small list of plates that are eligible.

They have outdoor seating which also has gas heaters for when it gets a bit chilly. The upside is great atmosphere and a sushi bar which has three large televisions which usually feature sports.

Highly recommended by others for house rice but I came for the Sushi. My waiter "Alexa" was nice and very engaging by asking if it was my first time. It was late Friday evening right before closing. I had the calamari and shrimp tempura roll. The sushi was fresh and delicious. I loved the calamari roll. So good!

I can't wait to return to have it again. The service was excellent. My waiter also suggested sushi options and even accommodated my allergies by ensuring there was no avocado and suggesting the BOGO. Great experience. I look forward to coming back here and trying the other locations.

I got a coupon in the mail for $10 off a purchase of $50 or more. I went to the website, placed order and realized there was no "promo code" to enter. The coupon said "bring in". Alright, so I call and am told they no longer make Peking Duck even though it's on the menu... I arrive at the restaurant and the lady at the register had to get a manager to honor the "bring in" coupon. It seems like they need to catch up to the times. Everything we ordered was lackluster (and the sushi was no-luster) except for the Yellow Curry dinner, that was quite nice. It was literally the only decent thing I've ever had from Tasu.

First time in my life I had to return a dish back to the chef and ask for a refund. I ordered the Mongolian beef and General Tso’s chicken. The Mongolian beef was so salty that it was inedible. Whichever chef made it just went crazy with the sauce and made it so thick and heavy that the saltiness overpowered everything.

The General Tso’s chicken was edible, but overall subpar. Flavor was decent and they used fresh ginger in the sauce which was nice, but there was no crispness or crunch to the chunks. Every bite was soggy which made the dish quite disappointing overall.

The BOGO sushi rolls are insanely small and honestly not very good. Portions overall were tiny and high priced. They've really gone downhill in quality and value. I'm not sure how they'll be able to stay open much longer if they continue to be ran this way. Plenty of other restaurants close by that serve the same style of food for cheaper with better taste and portion size.

Customer Service has gotten better.
Always enjoyed Tasu - felt service was fine/average for the area. (They have changed the sushi BOGO menu some - oh well.) However upon a recent dining experience, I felt they stepped up their game. From the man at the host stand to the female bartender (who was our table server), they were attentive and delivered great service. Keep it up Tasu!

Wasn’t totally bad but the crab Rangoon was the worst we have ever had. Sent 1st one back but 2nd, while fried better had no flavor and still was not the nice crispy you expect. Wonton soup was okay but again no depth of flavor. Had 3 Sushi rolls - they were put together sloppy and little taste. With so many great places for sushi, don’t go here. The 3 stars are for our waitress so was pleasant and took the food back with an apology. She also brought 2nd round of drinks.

Went for a girls night with a friend i havent seen in over a year. Seated immediately, which on a Friday night is unheard of. Jack G was our waiter and was very attentive. Food was A-Maz-Ing. Definitely will be back with hubby for a date night.

We stayed until 9, not knowing that they closed at 8:30. They were so, so sweet and understanding because we were catching up. I hate we kept them there that late but no one said anything! You all are so awesome for letting us girls gab on when you should have been going home.

Gave an extra star because of my past affection. When patrons are fans, the restaurant should be as adoring to their patrons. This was not the case, and sadly, I now have a bad taste in my mouth. Visited last week for to-go lunch. Bought a $15 poke bowl with scallops and whitefish. The presentation was not at all like it used to be, but the worst part besides the scallops tasting old is that when I got home 35 minutes later, I discovered there were NO SAUCES with my poke bowl. This has been one of my regular haunts for take out and for dining in when I want to treat my staff. Since working from home, I hadn't been able to come in because I live in another county. Was excited to visit and get one of my favorites. Was so disappointed, I called and spoke to the hostess. She said she'd get the manager to call and make good. Crickets. There are so many restaurants in the area to choose from. Shame to lose a customer over a $15 poke bowl.

The only reason we came to this place over other sushi restaurants in the area was that they had decent BOGO sushi options. The service has always been pretty bad, but we put up with it because the sushi was good and the BOGO made it at least reasonably priced. Well, they've done away with the VAST majority of the BOGO options, meaning the sushi here is now immensely overpriced. We won't be back. Really sad - we've been coming here for years but with these prices and the elimination of their BOGO options, it just doesn't make any sense to choose this place over the other local options.

Grocery store quality sushi. Honestly Wegmans has better sushi. My roll had black and brown avocado, it was nearly rotten. Service left a lot to be desired. Our server never checked in on us. We had to ask the bartender for soy sauce ramekins. When the check came we were informed that BOGO sushi is only for certain rolls now. Our server informed us that he "would have let us know had he known that he weren't aware of the change" lmao. Yeah, had I known I wouldn't have gotten four rolls.

I ordered calamari and it was HORRIBLE! My son wouldn't eat it. I love calamari, but I don't know what that was. It was soggy, no flavor and only had the rings no tentacles. I also ordered the basil duck, that was so nasty. The duck was tough and no flavor. I ate a little of each and threw it away. I was so disappointed. I was told I had to call Chow Now since I placed my order online.

They ended their BOGO sushi rolls ☹️. Tasu has been our go-to sushi place for years. There are other sushi places in the area that have better sushi, but Tasu has had the best value with their buy-one-get-one rolls. They recently stopped doing BOGO, effectively doubling their prices for specialty rolls. I totally get that inflation has caused price increases for pretty much everything, but a 100% price increase seems a little ridiculous. We’ll be going to other sushi restaurants that have much better quality sushi from now on, since the prices are now actually lower than Tasu’s.

I would love to speak with the owner or an actual manager that has worked at this location longer than a week . Our night started with a gentlemen seating us who clearly didn’t know the table numbering which is no big deal until later on it’s an hour and a half later and we’ve still not receive any of are food being my gf and I and are child’s . I ask what’s wrong at this point and it’s clear are ticket was marked as made even tho it never was . I asked for a discount and was given and 90 dollar bill still for what was like a 117 dollar tab after being told I’d receive 30% of my bill that math doesn’t add up obviously . But no then the so called manager who didn’t know the table numbers told me that would be my bill and that that’s what I was stuck with so I got a little heated considering I’ve been eating here multiple times a week spending a hundred or 2 each visit for the better part of 2 years . I know your short staffed that’s not a problem but having an irresponsibly trained manager who can’t handle compensating a well paying guest is absurd . Thank you for my last experience at your restaurant

To be clear I have a one year olds order that didn’t come out for close to an hour and a half but the table that got sat behind us an hour after somehow had all the food they ordered before us . Absolutely disappointed at the whole experience I had tonight

So upset! Not sure why things have changed, but the sushi tasted like it came from a grocery store. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the spring rolls were fantastic. I ordered a sweet dragon roll and the fried portion was very obviously refrigerated after being fried for a long period of time making rubbery. My wife's sushi had that same taste/texture like it was pre-made and refrigerated for days. This was my favorite sushi place and now I'm not sure I'll trust to eat here again. Server did not refill my drink and forgot to bring us things we asked for, so unfortunately the service didn't help.

Don’t like the fact that for BOGO deal you have to buy a drink. Other restaurants have raised the bar by doing BOGO with no need to buy a drink.

Plus, quite overpriced for the experience (atmosphere, amount of food, etc etc)

Excellent service, fabulous food, and great prices! The restaurant was surprisingly warm when we were there, and we got there before the dinner rush so it only got hotter when it got crowded. Not sure why it was so warm and doors, it was a pretty hot day outside so maybe they just did not turn the air on that day?

I got the Ramen Miso soup which was delicious and humongous! Thank goodness they had to go containers. As an appetizer for the table we shared the lettuce wraps which were surprisingly tasty while being very healthy!

The main bummer is the flies! one has to keep fanning the flies away and its just uncomfortable, the food is not enjoyable as you have to worry about flies landing on your food and they are flying around all over. The sushi is super fresh but expensive even for Buy One, Get One (BOGO). It's been a couple years since I've been here and prices have SOARED but the rolls remain tiny. Last time I went their house roll was $9.95 and now it is $12.95. They also charged me $0.50 for some spicy mayo to dip my rolls in, like really?! AND you still have to buy a drink to go BOGO. However, at least they don't go with the highest rolls at the table to determine which rolls are free and do it by check. I'm sad because I really love their rolls but you might as well go to Sushi Nine because you can get a better deal for their specialty rolls at BOGO without having to buy a drink, even with the by table rule at Sushi Nine (not by check). They also have some great looking specialty sushi rolls but they are separate and not part of BOGO which is sad too because they were priced reasonably for BOGO but not for non-BOGO. Won't be frequenting here much anymore and it used to be one of my fav places to go.

Took my whole family out to eat here , We ordered the General tso, honey chicken, and Pad Thai along with some sushi. This place looks nice but the food was absolutely terrible, the chicken tasted old and tough , the pad thai tasted like it was left over from the night before and reheated, everything down to the white rice was terrible which also tasted like it was cooked with dirty water . I requested to speak with the manager about our disapproval but she offered no resolution, so I just requested the check and left. The manager charged us full price even though our plates were almost untouched. Although the food was awful, the waitress was very nice and hospitable. If you are looking for Chinese food this place is not it. 10/10 would not recommend!

Got a to go order completely understanding that the restaurant industry is a little slower than normal. Managers take a little accountability today and offer you edamame appetizer for the inconvenience while you’ve watched other tables order and eat in the time you’ve been there.

The short Burnette manager has a real attitude problem also when confronted with facts. She was very rude and probably should not represent your front of house. They made every excuse including blaming a new chef instead of just accepting responsibility that they messed my order up. Finally after five minutes of arguing they admitted they just messed the order up and it was a mistake on their part. Being a former restaurant employee it is not acceptable to put the blame on your staff or the new person.

The food is delicious. We all shared the pineapple fried rice with shrimp, hot fish and the dynamite roll. Good portions and very satisfying. If your into curry the pineapple fried rice will not disappoint you, the hot fish is in a chili based brown sauce with thai basil, onions,peppers and ginger.

UPDATE, ordered tonight 01/07 and was so disappointed. I ordered the drunken noodles and the noodles were completely broken apart and mushy. Pretty inedible as the sauce thickend from the dough.

Did also order the Pad Thai and it was tasty.

The restaurant industry as a whole has really suffered during the times we find ourselves in. Since the lock down happened, the level of service we've been accustomed to has really declined, so when we do experience exceptional service on a busy Friday night, it prompts me to go home and write a public review. We've eaten at Tasu three times this past month and have received consistently good food and service. Tonight stood out because it was very busy. As we waited for our table, I observed the staff working with purpose and intention. When we sat down, Nancy greeted us and explained she was helping out the waitress, but ended up helping us the entire evening.
Her service and attentiveness stood out like a lighthouse in a harbor. At the end of our meal, I found out she was the manager. All hands on deck is the sign of a restaurant who cares about your business.

Lack of communication, poor management, terrible service. I watched our food get delivered to the wrong table. I asked the waitress if they could remake it and she informed me that it is still being made. At this point we have been waiting for 30 minutes for our food. Why would you lie about that like I didn’t just watch our order get delivered to the wrong table. I am a very understanding person and I get food runners are capable of making mistakes. Two different waitresses went to the other table where the wrong food was served and they apologized profusely to them. Even management came and spoke to the other table and apologized. I was ignored. We were waiting for our food for about 40 minutes at this point. Sushi does not take more than 15 minutes to make. We had to ask to speak to management and they said “yeah I know, sorry about that.” Very unprofessional and inconsiderate for our situation. My husband and I were nothing but kind and patient. In the end, they did not give us any discount for the wait, the lies, and the lack of communication. I have worked as a waitress before and my husband has as well. I would consider us very understanding but that was unacceptable. The family next to us complained and was also irritated and looking for the waitress. They were asking “does it usually take this long for them to take our order?” Overall I would avoid this place. If you’re looking for mediocre sushi, look elsewhere.

Very expensive for a super mediocre experience. The food took a long time to get to us, and when it did, the sushi did not taste fresh. When we spoke with the waitress about one $19 roll in particular (it had blue crabmeat on top that smelled and tasted overwhelmingly, unappetizingly fishy), we were told that is how it was supposed to taste. They offered us a new roll, but after how long it took to receive the food and see the waitress again after asking for a different item, we had no more time. When we said we would not be able to wait for another item, they did not attempt to offer to reduce the pricing of our meal..so we left the restaurant having paid over $70 for food we did not eat and hating ourselves for having been difficult to please customers. Even the other rolls we ordered did not taste super fresh. We won't be coming back to this location.
