Featuring the dynamic pairing of Master Sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi and design impresario Philippe Starck, Katsuya by Starck is truly a feast for the senses. With specialty cocktails, unique rolls and spectacular sushi and sashimi platters, Chef Uechi skillfully translates Japanese flavors to the American palate. Signature dishes include Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño and Miso-Marinated Black Cod. With superb talent and exacting precision, Katsuya by Starck is changing the face of Japanese cuisine.
Great service but the food was served all different temperatures. Dumplings and Brussel spout were cold. Yellow tail was no fresh and left a weird taste in the mouth. Crispy rice was soaked in butter and had no crisp. And the baked hand rolls came in a seaweed wrap instead of a soy wrap.

Was looking forward to dining here after reading lots of positive reviews but was quite disappointed.
This place is expensive for what it has to offer.
To start with the service was extremely slow, they forgot to get our drinks after taking the order and it took them 30 plus mins to serve the desserts afterwards.
The cocktails are over priced and below par. All we could taste was lots of sugar and Yuzu. We opted for Chef's signature menu for $85 per person and it was a bad decision.
1) Rock shrimps were oily but tolerable
2) Spicy tuna on crispy rice was the best dish
3) Baked hand rolls were disappointing, idk what kind of roll they had used but it tasted very doughy
4) Cod was extremely salty and inedible
5) Chicken Katsu bites... I mean you can't go wrong with fried chicken
6) Yellow tail carpaccio was decent
7) Dessert platter was the saving grace though it was just ice cream, mochi and mousse
Our bill was close for $600 (including tax and tip) between 5 people and we definitely did not leave as happy customers.
If you want some pretty Instagram worthy pics then do visit but don't expect beyond that.

Went there last night with a date, the ambience is amazing! We got a seat outside and the breeze was just perfect. We got all the signature dishes but our favorite was the salmon and caviar. The drinks were refreshing and delicious. Definitely going back!

Highly recommend this place, amazing food and great rooftop with an intimidate atmosphere. It has a lovely view of the cityscape but still feels tucked away and cozy. The food was incredible for the price and had a wide array of both Japanese favorites and unique dishes. Agostina was kind and came to check on us many times to make sure we had a lovely evening to celebrate my birthday. Highly recommend

I truly enjoyed my time at Katsuya. The first thing I look for when I eat at a sushi restaurant is for a high quality fish, and Katsuya certainly meets that standard. My favorites, the dumplings, the teriyaki salmon, the yellowtail and the shrimp tempura rolls. The terrace is lovely, as well as the service. I highly recommend it!

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst experiences with a food order. I ordered through Uber Eats for pick-up, expecting the food to be ready after a 50-minute wait. Upon arrival, I found out that my order hadn’t even been started. The manager explained they were hosting a party and that their system wasn’t working to process orders, suggesting I cancel it, despite my order already being paid for. After I insisted, another manager came over and promised that they’d prepare it within 15 minutes.
While waiting in the lobby, I noticed that the manager was friendly with other guests, but when she brought my order, her attitude turned noticeably unfriendly, and she seemed to be in a bad mood.
Unfortunately, the disappointments didn’t end there. When I got home, I found no utensils, chopsticks, or napkins included with my order. The sushi was bland, hastily made, and smelled of fryer oil. The seaweed salad was spoiled and immediately thrown away due to a strong odor.
I absolutely do not recommend this place due to its terrible service and poor food quality.

The food is certainly not out of the ordinary. I would say just ok. The salmon and the chicken were just average. The wagyu gyoza were good so was the sushi. I would recommend to get sides with your entrees but the options are limited.

From start to finish, Katsuya overdelivered in every category. We were seated promptly upon arrival in their beautiful and thoughtfully curated space that offered a sexy yet inviting ambiance. Ordered the lychee martini (because, duh!) in addition to their lemon salmon roll and spicy tuna crispy rice (double duh). Management and service was very considerate of my dietary restrictions and ensured that nothing was left to question. Everything we tried was bursting with flavor while simultaneously celebrating the quality of their fish. Couldn't recommend enough. Come for a girls' night out, date night, or even family night ...Katsuya's got you covered ticking all the boxes and more.

The service was okay. Kept getting asked what type of water we wanted but it took four people asking for someone to actually bring it out. Prices for sushi are a little expensive for what you get. Think this place is best for grabbing a drink with a friend to sit and chat with a friend on the terrace. The sun and sand drink was decent.

Possibly the worst client dinner experience I’ve had in 25 years. Table wasn’t ready until 45 mins after our 6.45p reservation. Told to wait at bar which had 1 person prepping drinks for the whole restaurant. Took 30 minutes at the bar just to get a drink. Then we were sat and a table where we waited for 30 minutes before anybody even came over at our own request . After waiting for 90 minutes with no service we got up and we left and went to another restaurant. This place was an embarrassment to New York City restaurants.

i discovered this place mistakley, if you don't know where is it located, it's not thay easy to find.
Overall, it was a great place, starting with the cute hosts that greed us in, to the decoration. To the Service, right on point... beside the drinks, everything was delicious 😋!
I loved the MISO GLAZED BLACK COD.. ( Melted in the mouth )
We also got the Miso chocolate cake by recommendation, which was delicious.
As far as the drinks, my friend and I we both got the Highball 🍸 cocktail
( I wouldn't pay for it $19 ) it tested like Lomonade I haven't felt the Alcohol at all )

Was confused by all the low ratings here so felt the need to leave a review and say that everything I tried here was incredible! Delicious, much attention to detail, and somehow was empty on a Saturday night. Quality of everything was impeccable

Very accommodating staff & waiter, extremely fast service, and excellent food that was so delicious we had to stop ourselves from ordering a second round. I highly recommend it! I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant a lot but I do wish you didn’t have to go up the stairs of what I assume is a mall to get to the restaurant. Still, I will definitely be back and hope that another Katsuya opens in Manhattan soon.

The restaurant itself is pretty nice but everything else is really lacking. The food was OK at best and not worth the price. In NYC, you can find dozens of other sushi spots that cost less and have much higher quality food/fish. Definitely have a good pizza place in mind for after you leave here because you will for sure leave hungry. As for the service, Ive never seen such a terrible group of waiters in any restaurant Ive ever been to. Everyone was grumpy like they wanted to just go home. I didnt know asking for more food was such an inconvenience that the waiter had to roll his eyes at me. Also, the kitchen closes at 10:08 on the dot even though they close at 12:00am. You will not be warned in advance and you will be pushed out 30 minutes before closing when they turn on the lights and start banging plates. I will never step foot in this place again and I highly recommend the same to everyone else.

Food is good, but quality doesn't stack up to the degree of expensiveness. Quality of service seems to be dependent on how much you spend.

came with a friend on a saturday night for a drink - the bar was messy w coats all over empty seats and the host didn’t do much to make space for us there. we got a table instead, and drink service was very slow - got our appetizer 15 minutes before our drinks, and the restaurant was basically empty, not sure why anything would take so long

I organized a table of ten tonight. We did the set menu that started at 7pm that we made clear we wanted to wrap up by 9pm. By 9:20pm we were still waiting on our entree and the service was appallingly slow throughout. So we spent over $1000 on appetizers essentially and had to leave to catch our post dinner show before we ever got to our entrees and dessert. Dinner at Katsuya was a colossal waste of money and an embarrassment for me personally for having taken my friends to it. I highly recommend avoiding this restaurant.

I went to this place with my friends to grab some drinks. When we first arrived, the place seemed nice, and the bartender was friendly. She helped me choose a drink based on my preferences, which was really helpful. However, while my friend and I were having a conversation, the manager suddenly came behind the bar and grabbed a bottle of Bulleit. He started pouring another bottle of liquor into it, but I couldn't see what bottle was. This made me feel uncomfortable, so I decided to leave. I didn't expect this kind of behavior from a place that claims to be "respectable."

Rude host. Terrible waiter. Below average sushi at best for the price. They turned the lights on 30 minutes before closing, making the atmosphere downright terrible. But the tasting menu cannot be customized for a vegetarian option which is disappointing, I think they lose customers this way.
My spouse loved the fish carpaccio.

Beautiful.. katsuya is a wonderful restaurant that left me with an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and impeccable service. The atmosphere was cozy with soft lighting, tasteful decor, and a cozy atmosphere that set the scene for an amazing meal.
The menu featured a tempting array of dishes, each more appealing than the last. As a sushi lover, I was delighted to find such a wide selection of dishes. The chef's creativity was evident in every bite, with dishes combining unexpected ingredients in harmonious and innovative ways.
For starters I opted for the Baked Crab Hand Rolls which were a work of art. For the main course I chose the cod, the spicy tuna roll, the Manhattan roll and the salmon which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Which makes for a truly indulgent experience.
The attention to detail extends beyond the food itself. The presentation of each dish was exquisite, with an artistic coating that showcased the chef's talent and passion. The servers were knowledgeable and attentive, offering helpful suggestions and making sure our every need was met.
As the night came to a close, I couldn't help but marvel at what an incredible dining experience I had. This restaurant truly excels in every aspect, from the exceptional cuisine to the warm and professional service. It is a hidden gem that deserves to be discovered by all foodies.

Overall experience was wonderful and will definitely be returning to try other items ln the menu.
The food itself was very flavorful and fresh. We chose to order the Katsuya Classics, which includes 9 items from their menu. All of the best items and out of all 9, not one single item was considered in anyway to be disappointing. Only negative to it, is that everyone km the table has to get the same classics.
I loved the spicy tuna crispy rice, enough to place an additional order for more. The crispy Brussel sprouts were very delicious and the best I've ever had. The only dish that I can say was not for me or on my favorites, was the miso cod. Saying that, while still eating every piece of it.
Our waitress was very knowledgeable and pleasant. She also explained the menu in detail and answered our questions. The staff was very friendly and we were treated as if we were important guests.
I highly suggest that you try Katsuya, specially as a Nobu alternative. They both have their strengths and weaknesses and are both great places to experience.

Came here for a friend’s birthday dinner (18 people total) on a Friday night in the dead summer. Upon arrival we learn their AC is isn’t working and had not been working all day, which they neglected alert the person who made the reservation. We then had to sit through the whole meal trying not to melt into the very average food. The only accommodations offered were ice and free champagne; they didn’t offer to comp anything from the meal, which given the circumstances and the amount of money charged is disrespectful. Save your coins, go to one of the other restaurants in the area instead!

Katsuya is for sure a fun and lively atmosphere. I cannot say that their sushi was terrific. In particular, the knock off Nobu like tuna on crunchy rice not correctly done and could easily have cracked a tooth. Some dishes were pretty good such as cooked appetizers. We sampled 6 dishes which came out one after the other. I had asked after the second dish to slow down yet each one was rushed out. Overall, the environment is nice, the hostess lovely, and the food was okay. Katsuya was well overpriced for the quality of food served.

Sushi was of conveyor belt standard on pretty plates. Service was subpar.
The point of sitting at the sushi counter is so that you can have an interaction with the chef. Here, you sit at the sushi counter, but when you try to order from the sushi chef, he directs you to the waiter instead.
Also, I had to wait for 15 minutes just to pay even though the restaurant was basically empty. Waiters were chatting on their own at the side. Total bill came up to >$50. Not worth it.

Not too busy when we stopped in here but we still had to have a reservation for the seven of us. I arrived a little late but was seated promptly and their iced tea was a nice green machta. The bone in tomahawk short rib was fantastic, fall off the bone, melt in mouth. The miso cod was a poor shade worse, too thick to allow the miso proper coverage so ended up being heavy and oily. Mango mousse wasn't chilled, otherwise it could have been so much better. Cheesecake was fluffy but I'm not a cheesecake guy. Overall I've had better food, more attentive service.

Katsuya is situated in Hudson Yards and is home to fine-dining Japanese cuisine. The venue itself is a gorgeous modern decor and spacious floor plans that can seat as many guests as you have available. Although, I only came with my wife and son.
The menu is extensive with options for every person, allergies or not. We ordered the crispy brussels sprouts, spicy tuna crispy rice, and tomahawk short rib, the katsuya roll, manhattan roll, and salmon lemon roll. We also got a classic roll like the california roll for my son. The plating of the food was wonderfully done as you would expect from a fine-dining restaurant. They were made to share so my family and I were able to share all of the food. You should definitely try the spicy tuna crispy rice! It was our favorite along with the tomahawk short rib and katsuya roll. All the food tasted great and could really tell the chefs put their dedication and care into it.
Anyone looking to try something new in the area, should definitely give Katsuya a try. You won't be disappointed! I will most definitely be coming back soon!

We had such a great time at Katsuya! First thing we noticed was how fun the vibes were when you walked in the restaurant. We started off at the bar and two great cocktails, one was a play on a margarita and the other was almost like a gin and tonic--both delicious. Food was amazing and authentic, my favorite was the grilled waygu steak and maitake mushrooms. Crispy tuna is obviously also a can't miss. Service was on point and I can't wait to bring more people here.

If you're looking for a luxurious sushi experience, look no further than Katsuya. From the moment you walk in, you'll be impressed by the elegant decor and attentive service.
The menu at Katsuya is extensive, featuring an array of fresh, high-quality sushi and sashimi options, as well as creative maki rolls and other Japanese-inspired dishes. The sushi chefs are clearly skilled and take great care in their craft, resulting in beautifully presented and delicious bites.
One standout dish at Katsuya is the crispy rice, the quality of the fish and other ingredients used is exceptional.
In addition to the sushi, the restaurant also boasts an impressive drink menu, with a wide selection of sake, beer, and wine to pair with your meal. The servers are knowledgeable about the various options and are happy to make recommendations based on your preferences.
While Katsuya is certainly on the pricey side, the experience is worth every penny and more. The upscale ambiance, top-notch service, and exceptional sushi make for a truly memorable dining experience. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or just looking for a special night out, Katsuya is not to be missed.

The restaurant adds a 5% recovery charge to the bill. Do the waiters get any of that money? No. The kitchen staff? No. Anyone physically working in the restaurant? No. Do they tell you this? No.
If you read the fine print you can request for this charge to be removed, but most people aren't going to look closely enough to see that so they will end up tipping less due to the additionally charge.
Such a practice hurts those working in the restaurant. An utterly selfish policy that only benefits the owners while hurting those who need the money most.

I was extremely surprised to see this at a place that describes itself as a venue serving ‘acclaimed sushi and upscale cocktails in a fashionable, contemporary setting’.
In a city that has it all, with mom and pop restaurants that have stellar flavor and need to compete against giants like these, this feels like a slap in the face. It’s not even like the fee goes to the waiters or cooking staff.
This place is already extremely overpriced, most take out sushi places or affordable omakase options like sugar fish are a lot better than it in terms of taste and fish quality. The “special rolls” were completely underwhelming and would pass as a normal roll anywhere else you go. Crispy rice was served cold and already hardened. Order of sushi rice was also cold and terribly cooked.
The one bright spot was the service. Hostess and waiter were both incredibly nice, energetic, and helpful. Feels bad that the food quality really leaves a bad taste after spending $250 after 20% tip on a dinner for two without any liquor.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. I was planning a large corporate dinner through their events team and signed a contract and gave a 50% deposit to them. After confirming this, I got a phone call from their events manager saying they cannot accommodate me because they don't have the availability and that another sales manager booked the space instead. They did absolutely nothing to try and remedy this except for choose another day or go to her sister location across town. She even proceeded to say that this "isn't fun for her". When I explained I cannot do another day and need to stay in a close proximity of my client's office, the events manager offered to call other restaurants nearby (that she was not affiliated with) to see if they would take my party. Crazy how this woman could think she is capable of making a reservation with another restaurant when she cannot even get it done at her own. Such a shame for a popular & well known chain to have this type of customer service. Safe to say I will not ever be attending this restaurant or recommending.

Food is good but customer service and table servers need a better training on hospitality

This place was very average for the price point. We did the tasting menu for $85pp and while the presentation was beautiful many of the dishes failed to wow. I did love the spicy tuna with crispy rice though - that was great. You also enter through a mall of sorts so that part of the experience isn’t great. The restaurant itself though is hidden away enough that you soon forget that fact though and the interior is well done.

Went to Katsuya as I explore the neighborhood I now live in and I'm very glad I did. Everything was exceptional especially the sushi. The manager heard that we had just moved to the neighborhood and invited us for free welcome drinks after our dinner in the bar next door. New favorite spot!

Celebrated my birthday here and it was hands down the best dining experience I’ve ever had. From the atmosphere to the attention to detail & also amazing menu guidance by my server Mary blew the expectations I had out of the water, looking forward to spending my anniversary here as well!

Delicious!!
First off, The ambiance was great and the service was high quality. Fantastic place to go for a night out for drinks and sharable plates. Loved the spicy tuna crispy rice and fresh hand rolls! The specialty hand crafted cocktails are a nice touch as well - both dynamic and refreshing! Will definitely be back for more!

Had a great time here. The atmosphere is perfectly designed. The servers are super helpful with suggestions and recommendations. The food and drinks are perfection. Excited to go back!

Went there last night with a date, the ambience is amazing! We got a seat outside and the breeze was just perfect. We got all the signature dishes but our favorite was the salmon and caviar. The drinks were refreshing and delicious. Definitely going back!

Great food service and atmosphere. Really enjoyed my night out and I am looking forward to going back !

Great sushi and prices aren't too high. Get the crispy rice with tuna- really good, comparable to Nobu’s.

I was so excited to visit this location for the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and loved it. So fresh and simple!
Must recommend the Katsuya Roll because it is so refreshing and light, the Short Rib, really comforting and tender and the Rock Shrimp Roll, it was piled high with shrimps and really satisfying. Such a unique spot for dinner or drinks, enjoyed an insane view from their rooftop seating.

Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice = the perfect bite. The expansive outdoor patio was the ideal setting on a pre-fall night. The baked crab handrolls are addictive, and the Manhattan rolls are precisely crafted. Don’t leave before ordering the Japanese Cheesecake.

A bit too noisy, and the music is always too loud to talk. We tried 2-3 times, food and service speed is a bit slower compared to Katsuya in Miami.
If you’d like to enjoy meals in peaceful ambiance like I do, maybe this place is not your best choice.
If you love party-ish place, go for it!

Had a wonderful meal at Katsuya last week that I’m thinking about! It was a gorgeous evening on the patio and the staff were so courteous, attentive, and thoughtful with their recommendations.
I was always a little intimidated by sushi but everything I had was delicious, well presented, fresh, and filling. From the hot appetizers to hand rolls, to cocktails, it was all yummy and memorable.

Katsuya was just OK. It was far too expensive for what you actually get. The food was good but very small portions. Nothing stood out for me or our party. My son actually ended up eating again on the way back to our hotel. The outside seating area is very nice. I would not recommend this place nor would I go again.

I had a truly wonderful experience here. The food was outstanding and the ambience was super. We had a multiple course meal that included both sushi and hot entrées. The service could not have been better. I would highly recommend taking advantage of the outdoor patio. The chef has certain specialties that they will recommend. I thought the rock shrimp was particularly delicious. This restaurant is conveniently located in Hudson yards very close to the seven train. It’s a perfect atmosphere for business casual romantic or otherwise. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!!!

I love sushi, and on tik tok I heard that this place was good. But I always fall for this stuff. It was good, but not amazing - I wouldn’t go again. The ambiance of the inside was gorgeous but we sat outside it was nice too. The dumplings were good and the meat was nice but hard to chew. The sushi was average. I liked the food but wouldn’t go again. I also might be biased because I feel like the sushi in the west coast just tastes so different, but it’s a nice date spot :)

Katsuya Manhattan West, which opened its doors in March 2022, artfully blends master sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi's fresh take on classic Japanese cuisine with the pulsating vibe of New York. Treat yourself with a unique, one-of-a-kind dining experience with traditional sushi and inventive cocktails.
Yellowtail Jalapeño
A perfect starter for your culinary journey, the Yellowtail Jalapeño highlights fresh slices of yellowtail sashimi topped with jalapeño in onion ponzu sauce.
Specialty Spicy Tuna
A welcoming twist on a traditional tuna roll, the Specialty Spicy Tuna features marinated tuna and cucumber roll topped with tuna sashimi, serrano, myoga, and spicy soy sauce.
Sushi Set
Sushi Set is an absolute show stealer. The platter includes all the highlights at Katsuya, including the fan favorite Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice (grilled sushi rice, spicy tuna tartare, and serrano), chef's selection of nigiri and sashimi, Katsuya Rolls (tuna, hamachi, salmon, scallop, and crab in cucumber wrap), and Manhattan Roll (spicy shrimp, crab, tuna, avocado, and spicy mayo in soy paper).
Miso Glazed Black Cod
Served on top of houba leaf and garnished with broccolini and pickled ginger, the Miso Glazed Black Cod has an amazingly tender, melt-in-your-mouth flavor

I love the original Katsuya locations in Los Angeles as well as the one in Miami. That being said, this location is a steaming pile of trash and I do not mean that lightly. From the service to the food, just about everything was subpar and I cannot stress enough how poorly this compares to the other locations. Save your time and money

The server was not attentive at all with my entire visit, the food I order a creamy salmon, and the presentation was terrible, for the price. The drink I had at the Sbar were discussing, as bartender I had to tell the bartender what to put on my drink to make it drinkable. Honestly the only think I will give 5 start was the hostess and the restaurant decorations. Other than that you lost a client!

We sat outside with a great view and a nice vibe for all 6 of us. Our server was nice and knew the menu well.
I'm giving a 3 star because we got all our apps right away and almost finished them before we finally got out drinks. The kitchen is on it but my cold sake was almost room temp by the time it came.

Wonderful ambience. Very chic sushi spot, with great cocktails and fresh sashimi! Recommend for date nights!

Katsuya always hits the spot. I’m a huge fan of their LA locations and was super excited to try their NYC spot. So happy I visited! From the time I was greeted at the host stand to the time I left, the service and hospitality was top notch and super welcoming. Their rooftop lounge is a hidden gem and the perfect spot for dining on a cool summer night. My friend and I started with the Albacore sashimi and crispy Brussels sprouts which were both delicious. We then got a Katsuya specialty roll which was perfection on a plate and the baked crab hand rolls were equally fabulous. Will definitely be back with a large group of friends since the restaurant is super spacious and the dishes were one better than the next!

Not bad. The one in Miami is better. The beach is nearby. And the original one in Los Angeles used to be a celebrity hot spot back in the early 2000’s. This one in nyc is solid. Very good.

Anyone who didn’t give this place 5 stars is a an absolute fool. The food is amazing the music is top notch and the aquatic drink is one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. Highly recommend

This really is a lovely location. My fiancé and I frequent the chain of hotels that owns or partners with Katsuya. We are very familiar with the food here.
While I wouldn’t say this is top-tier sushi, it’s a fun vibe and tasty.
Also, the attention to client service is very well done. We had a somewhat minor issue with the dish and it was addressed immediately.
I was very impressed with the professionalism and overall great experience. They still have some kinks to work out for sure when it comes to service and even the quality of food, but I think they’ll be just fine.
Again, I’ve only removed one star given that this is not the best sushi you can get. If you were looking for a fun night out on a well-known establishment that still delivers, then this is a good choice!

Sushi was good quality. But the portions were very small, and it was quite expensive for what you get. I don't mind paying for great sushi. But this was not very satisfying. The service was really slow, and all of the wait staff seemed very confused the whole time. I won't be back.

Food is good but they need to seriously pump the air in this place: it was 95 degrees outside and felt just like that inside. Not too enjoyable to dine at a place while feeling uncomfortably hot and yes other people were complaining about it too. Would go back but hope they figure out the AC situation.

Ambience, service and style were great. The food not so much: vegetables were chewy, the crab was smelly, and the sauces bland.

Absolutely disappointing and horrible. Rented the private room for a birthday party for 9P, nothing was served on the table till 10:30p. Items were missing from the prefix, the meat came out completely raw and was sent back and Half never came back, ordered extra items off the regular menu which never came out and when we were leaving they said sorry we ran out of food. Absolutely ridiculous. On top of it all no dessert coffee or tea because they said the kitchen was closed,, and not even anyone there to cut the cake. The waiter had to do it himself. When we complained to the manager she said I need everybody to leave deal with the person who set up the party for you. Will never ever recommend this place or go back.

We were looking forward for making my brother's birthday special but unfortunately we had a horrible service it was a prefixed menu half of food never was served, it took 45 min between every course, but we were charged for it anyway, we asked the manager about it she was very nasty and said the kitchen is closed, no apology at all very disappointed we paid the bill and had to go to a different place , I would never recommend or go there again

Great spot, they were still fine tuning the restaurant. The prices weren't as bad as I thought. One thing I suggest that management do is to remove the people selling toiletries in the restroom, feels like I'm at a club. Other than that the sushi was good as was the presentation and the staff.

We waited 45 minutes between the first course and the second course — for 6 tiny slices of sashimi! Service was good at the beginning but became inattentive. Our water wasn’t filled during those 45 minutes, nor did anyone check in on us.
Getting the check paid at the end was an ordeal, and when they ran my credit card, a mystery $11 was added on top of the total from the itemized receipt they originally presented us!
Food was okay but not worth the sky-high prices. There’s much better sushi in New York, with better service and without the ambiance of a mall food court.

Consistent top notch quality. The baked crab handroll is a favorite. Steven was wonderful! Great atmosphere and music

Thank you Shannon, hope to come back soon, love you hair ♥️

Ambient is cool - you forget being inside some sort of food court - the S bar seems pretty good for a happy hour after work
the food was good but not amazing - for the price you pay I’d expect more - disappointed by the wagyu beef (they bring it over and grill it in front of you - $50 for 4-5 very small thin slices that didn’t have much flavor)
There were a couple of carpaccio like a white fish with crispy onions and a salmon carpaccio that were pretty good …
This seems to be more of a work crowd type of place than a hang out with friends one…

Way overpriced food

I had high hopes, but this place is mediocre at best compared to other NYC sushi spots and equally or more expensive. Cocktails were a disappointment for the table, cloyingly sweet and spicy ones were not spicy. Certain dishes were delicious, like the red snapper but the majority were unremarkable. Definitely better black cod in the city, crispy rice was also mediocre and no better than mid-range sushi spots. Desserts were a strong spot, the chocolate cake and mango pudding were great…but not sure you should leave dinner and drinks only remembering one fish dish and the dessert?!?
