My friend and I went for their family/friends special, and we had a great time! Alejandro and Antonio were great hosts. We never had empty glasses. And our chef, El Chapo, was the best. He explained each piece thoroughly, and we had such great banter with him. He was so fun and knowledgeable. All of the sushi we had were so good and so fresh. Every piece was special in its own way. We definitely will have to come back.

Had such a great time here. It’s one of my favorite omakase places. The staff and the guests were nice and friendly. Chef Win did her thing. Cool vibes with throw back hiphop. The sushi was fresh and tasted amazing. The Big Mac is my favorite. Very good uni! Prices were reasonable. We did the 17 course and got a bad and bougie headband.

Service was good, drinks were a little pricey but on point and delicious
Food was good and fresh had some good combinations of flavors

This is my second visit to Sushi by Bou Nomad at Hotel 32|32. My first visit I went to the Suite which I found so much fun to step through the door to a hotel room containing a sushi bar and outdoor space.
This visit I had the 12 course Omakase sushi tasting at the ground level restaurant. This comfortable spot accommodates up to 8 guests at a time. Delicate, fresh fish is served within a 30-minute time period, making it perfect for a quick lunch or pre/post theater dinner. It is affordable too. The chef works quickly and everyone is very attentive.

Best nigiri and sushi and cocktail I’ve ever had!!! Both this branch and the times sq one. I always go whenever I get the chance to. Its hard to even explain how good the food and the drinks are! Plus customer service is top notch! They make their customers fee very special and make sure they have a great experience!
There is also a new speakeasy here called the Partea Lab. Nice to check it out.

Easily one of my favorite omakase spots in the city. The ambiance was elegant as it's hidden in a hotel lobby. There's a speakeasy bar upstairs which was pretty cool. Easy parking along the street. It's also pretty affordable ($60 for 12 pieces) compared to other omakase in the city. And very high quality sushi. After the 12 pieces, you have the option to order any of them again a la carte which was great. Among my favorites were surf n turf (wagyu and sea urchin), scallops, salmon, lean tuna, fatty tuna. All of the pieces were delicious. Drinks also great. The 2nd time I went, they gave us sake on the house. I have been here 3 times already and will continue to come for more!!

Fun atmosphere. Great omakase with a more relaxed attitude and great music. Took my mother there for her first omakase experience and she loved it. Refined, but super approachable as well.

Disappointing cash grab during NYE. I’ve been here before and it’s been much better.
The good: fish was delicious, good drinks. Martini is fantastic!
The bad: rice was horrible - crunchy or mushy at the same time, we were rushed out of the restaurant because the previous guests had overstayed their time slot.

The sushi here is absolutely fantastic—each piece is crafted with precision and bursts with fresh, vibrant flavors. The chefs are true artists, blending skill and passion to create an unforgettable omakase experience.

I’ve been to other Sushi by Bou locations, which were all 5/5. This location fell short. Cross contamination of food (had allergic reaction, luckily minor), seated 20 minutes after reservation, and sushi was rushed/sloppy compared to other locations.

Been here twice, both with the BOGO deal. First time was fine, nothing special but worth it for BOGO. Second time was horrendous. Fish was warm, looked and tasted not fresh and our chef seemed like a novice. Service was really great and my water glass was never halfway. However, this was incredibly mediocre food. It felt like a waste of money even with the BOGO. I could barely justify it for half the price let alone the full price. Ambiance is also not my fave - feels like you’re in a closet or dungeon with cool music and raw fish. There are so many omakase spots in the city, there’s no need to come back. I love that they constantly entice you with discounts but if you really know good sushi, you’d understand that there are better places. Will just stick to my neighborhood sushi restaurant - more worth it for the price.

I have been a loyal patron visiting all of their sushi by bou locations monthly, taking friends, family and colleagues since they opened in 2018. I have gotten to know many of the chefs that have come and gone. I have even met David Bouhadana. They recently changed their menu in a large way for me. At all locations, they got rid of Uni on their regular menu and possibly their extended 60 min menu. It's just not the same. So sad. Now that there are other competitors at a similar price point, I will be sadly moving on to others. What a great run.

Food was a solid B+, this isnt masa or Ginza Onodera, but for the price point its fantastic. On par with a sugarfish in quality but a bit more inventive.
Atmosphere was unique and super fun. They played 90’s/00’s hip hop and had a biggie mural on the wall. Crowd was into it, felt like a communal vibe as we joked with the chef. Host was really fun too! Would def go again with a group of friends or a fun date.
Get the big mac sushi - worth it + you get a secret free saki shot haha.

Second time dining at this location, I must say I love the vibe more here and the service is much better and entertaining than the Times Sq location! The host is very friendly and they have their Big Mac challenge: if you can finish their Big Mac in one bite, you get a free sake! It really adds up to the dining experience.

Our experience was simply exceptional.
Despite running late for our reservation, the staff graciously accommodated us, setting the tone for a wonderful evening. The intimate atmosphere, paired with a fantastic selection of 2000s hip-hop and R&B music, created the perfect vibe to focus on the sushi.
Each course was a masterpiece—fresh, expertly prepared, and full of flavor. From the buttery toro to the melt-in-your-mouth wagyu, every bite was a delight. The chef’s skill and precision were evident in every detail, and the pacing of the meal was spot on, allowing us to savor each piece.
Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the team’s passion for their craft shone through as they guided us through the experience. For anyone seeking an unforgettable omakase journey in the city, Sushi by Bou is a must. Their blend of exquisite sushi, impeccable service, and thoughtful hospitality left a lasting impression.

My dinner was amazing. I couldn’t have asked for better service. Jaime was the best he accommodated all of my needs regarding the menu. Each plate was better than the one before. This is the best place ever. Best Omakase ever. Jaime is the best chef very sweet and knows exactly what he is doing. Best dinner I have had in a very long time. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good night and meal. As for the host, Antonio he was very very welcoming from the very start. He constantly checked up on me while my dine in making sure everything was okay and to my liking. He is very good at his job always being very attentive of everyone. Simply divine

Despite the attentive service and decent atmosphere, the food was disappointing. The seared fish was consistently overcooked, with the unagi having burnt ends, and the wagyu beef was unpleasantly chewy. The fatty tuna with black truffle had an off-putting fishy taste. Additionally, heavy sauces frequently overpowered the natural flavors of the seafood. While the service was attentive—servers were diligent in refilling water, the food quality fell far below expectations.

I went with my friend because they were running a promo for $35 per person if you buy a coupon before. I guess I should have guessed that it was too good to be true since it was so cheap. (I went before previously and it was good). This time the rice was undercooked and hard. I had to pick the rice out of my teeth because it was so hard, and couldn’t swallow certain pieces cause it was so undercooked. The fish itself was alright not nothing to rave about.
Lastly, please know that there’s an 18% gratuity already added but they don’t tell you so I tipped twice :/. Felt like someone should warn you beforehand because I definitely did not want to tip twice for such mediocre sushi.

The Omakase menu, priced at a fraction of what one might expect for such a gastronomic treat, showcases the chef's creativity and expertise. Each dish is a harmonious symphony of flavors. From delicate sashimi to perfectly seared nigiri showcasing the freshest seafood, every bite is a revelation. Can't wait to go back!

I ate here about 4ish years ago and it was delicious.
I then ate here this past week and it is still delicious (the fish was all fresh and tasty)... HOWEVER, i can't give them 5 stars because the rice was often overseasoned/sauced/salty. It overpowered the taste of the fish for several of the pieces. unfortunate. Maybe it was just that day or week but i think it was better before.
My favorite were the toro, chopped toro, yellowtail, prawn, wagyuni.
for $60, it's still a good deal. If you want an affordable omakase experience, id recommend it but there are also other newer omakase spots in a similar price range that i want to try too.
pro tip: once in a while, they have promo/deals where the omakase is $50 (maybe sign up for their emails or follow them on socials to keep an eye out)

Really impressed by Sushi By Bou! We were in Nomad and craving sushi, the focus here is a $60, 12 piece omakase. The quality and flavours were top notch!
A lot of the sushi places I’ve been to in NYC are sort of just fine… but here you could really appreciate the different texture and flavours of each of the fish. They didn’t over sauce / season. For the price it’s great quality!
Probably a good idea to reserve in advance. The sushi bar has about 12 seats with two chefs preparing for the groups. They also have a small lounge area where you can order cocktails and snacks either before or after your meal (helping to free up the counter space). The 12 piece omakase is pretty quick, for two people probably 30 mins! Our chef was Song and he was fantastic
Will be back, thank you!!

You can get better omakase in NYC. They don’t even do a 17 course like their Chicago location, which is a better location. The atmosphere isn’t great either; you will be rushed here and a lil cramped. Some pieces like the bbq eel also had bones in them. I’ve had omakase in various locations/companies, but this particular one is the worse one I’ve had in terms of service, food, and especially the atmosphere. I went because it was close to where I was and I regret going to this one.

You enter via the hotel entrance, but once you walk through the curtains you enter a different world.
Set in a cozy well decorated space, you sit down by the friendly and brilliant chef.
The menu is perfect and for a very good price, especially if you take the quality of the fish into account. Everything tastes extremely fresh.
Our charming maitre d, Zahra, was nice and new exactly what everyone needed.
We stayed for a few drinks from the nice collection of whiskeys in the lounge bar in the back which is a nice touch.
All in all a great experience and something I highly recommend!

I came here on a weekday with my siblings and one of my cousin. The restaurant is inside a hotel. When you first enter; you will see a front desk and then when you walk straight , hello sushi by Bou. The vibe of the spot is dark, intimate, let’s get drunk and have a wonderful time kinda night. We got the 17 pc omakase menu which was around $118 per person. I can’t tell you the dishes name since I forgot, but totally worth the price. I wasn’t too full. Just right.
It’s been a while since my family members got together and enjoyed each other company. The sushi was immaculate. The best part was the service. We had Alex who was funny, kind and friendly. He shared some stories of his experiences becoming a sushi chef and it’s wow. He gave us sake shots. He was super understanding when my sister was running late. He knew i didn’t want too much rice and he was able to accommodate that. Even though the food was phenomenal, the service made it ten times better. I wish the business nothing but continued success. Thank you for a memorable night.

Oh my goodness where do I even start, came here on the last day on our NY trip cause it was close to our hotel as well as $60 for omakase, why not?
Well let me tell you this might have been our worse decision ever, the whole "experience" was 30 minutes max being served 12 pieces of sushi that was already pre sliced or some what pre made (there was literally no experience, was just a guy serving us low grade sushi).
All the pre sliced sashimi slices were broken and mangled, I didn't even want to take a photo as I was so un-happy. 5 minutes into the service, I pulled the biggest piece of bone out of my sushi and the chef said nothing, no apology, no offering me anything. He just looked me in the eye and continued making the sushi.
And the cherry on top from this experience was I got food poisoning at the airport.
In hindsight $60 USD + tip ($125 ish CAD) sounded amazing for omakase but in reality it was just a waste of time, super market sushi would be better, service was not great and I got food poisoning.

What a fun concept to stumble into. Alone on a work trip I went to this turn and burn Omakase, which I mean with the utmost respect to margins, with the hope of some tasty food. From start to finish I felt like a regular at my favorite spot in Shinjuku. Kind reception, attentive care partnered with a quality omakase menu and tasty highballs. I don't yet know, but I assume, this is what it might feel like at a neighborhood joint in Tokyo somewhere.

let's talk about the sushi itself. Each piece is a work of art, showcasing the freshest and highest-quality ingredients available. The omakase menu is a culinary adventure, where you'll be taken on a journey through different flavors and textures. From melt-in-your-mouth toro to delicate, expertly seasoned rice, every detail is carefully considered.
What sets Sushi by Bou apart is its commitment to innovation. While honoring traditional sushi techniques, the chef also incorporates creative elements that surprise and delight the palate. It's a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation that keeps you eagerly anticipating the next course.
The service at Sushi by Bou is impeccable. The knowledgeable staff guides you through the experience, explaining each dish's ingredients and preparation methods, enhancing your appreciation of the culinary artistry.
However, it's essential to note that Sushi by Bou is an exclusive and intimate experience, which also means it comes at a premium price. But for those seeking an extraordinary sushi adventure and are willing to indulge, it's worth every penny.
In conclusion, Sushi by Bou is a culinary gem that offers an intimate, innovative, and unforgettable sushi experience. It's the perfect destination for sushi aficionados and anyone looking to elevate their dining experience to new heights. Be prepared to be wowed from start to finish at this exceptional sushi haven.

Food was great, about 75$ total for 12 pieces
Quality of ingredients are definitely there along with taste and a well thought out menu
This was my first omakase and it definitely didn't disappoint, my girlfriend and I ate beforehand thinking it wouldn't be a lot but we're on the lighter side of eaters so this was our mistake. Should have asked to slow down as well, we just scarfed down the food as the chef, I think his name was Shin, prepared the pieces carefully and quickly.
Atmosphere was the only disappointing thing which is hard to knock them down for because it was a bit odd when another couple had brought their baby with them and they were just crying for the first half of our dining experience. I understand the venue is a bit small and inside a hotel but some consideration should be put in place because I can't imagine the bar being full and everyone just hearing 1 kid crying while trying to chat with their date.
Oh and the staff was super helpful and friendly, just felt a little weird that they were close to us because we were seated closer to the door and it was like they were just watching and observing us. I understand that's what an attentive staff should do but a bit more discreet maybe? Lol

We came here for a birthday dinner and the omakase experience was great and we stayed for drinks afterwards at the adjoining bar. The scallop sushi and the Yuzu honeybee cocktails were standouts. The service was excellent with JJ, Erica, and Stephanie, and we would definitely come here again.

Celebrated my 4th wedding anniversary at Sushi by Bou. Was looking for a sexy, fun vibe with great food and this did not disappoint. Drinks were great and the Omakase was delicious. Served by JJ Asis and he was incredible! Great attention to detail, explained the dishes well, provided funny conversation, and awesome vibes all around. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience, Sid was in contact right away to assist with our change in arrival time. Each course was perfect timed and arranged in the best order the flavor stacked one on top of each other perfectly. Flawlessly executed 👍

It's a fast omakase - in and out in an hour. Each bite was just as delicious as the first.
When we arrived, we were seated (for a few minutes) in the bar while they got ready for the seating.
There was just room for 8 people at the counter, and we had 12 pieces. At the end, we could order any extras from what we'd eaten or from the special menu. (Definitely worth a look at the special menu).
Cocktails were also good. At the end of the meal we returned to the bar for mochi ice cream dessert.

Loved the omakase set by chef David and the music to 90s hiphop. Bonus for the Biggie mural. Was doing a happy dance throughout the delicious sushi set. I will be back.

Food is good but music is really loud and feel pressure when dining there cuz time limit and they will ask you to go to the other side of the bar. Not recommended if you are here for the date and you are not able to reach them by phone.

This was such an awesome experience! The bartender set the mood while we were waiting our turn, and when we got to eating the food kept getting better! Highly recommended.

From reservation to check everything was incredible. Im super picky about my Omakse. Sushi not only exceeded my expectations in regards to the food, but the service and vibe is without parallel! 17 courses and every course was delicious. The chef was really personable and funny. The host was great as well. Its the kind of experience that would merit an expensive check but it was very reasonable...actually not expensive at all.

Yesterday I went with my son, I have requested the menu for me and another dish for him. The chef haved said not possible and in front of me it was a screen with other dishes. I have requested again and the answer was no without any explanation. Be careful, estrict rules no adapted to people. This is not a flexible restaurant. Why not possibility of another dish? I had the impression they prefer we leave than they adapted. I have adapted myself and you have to do the same.

super amazing experience for 12 pieces omakase courses. Please do order the Big Mac the fantastic one-bite at the end of the journey. The bite is even large enough of two mouthful tastes for you to fully chew and feel the combination of all layers. Drinks are perfect. We were grateful to be fortunately treated with 2 shots of sake from the staff since it’s a birthday celebration occasion! Thank you so much! Overall a high-quality and wonderful dining spot for those who loves Japanese fresh sushi. I especially admire the way as well time of serving which is appropriately presented and controlled by the chef.

It was definitely a delightful experience and we enjoyed all the sushi. There were 12 pieces omakase sushi courses. We were hesitant to walk in when we found out the dress code was business casual (on the confirmation email), but it all turns out fine as people didn’t really take it seriously. The only thing that bothers me is the meal ended with a eel sushi, which was quite weird as it leaves a strong sauces taste in our month at the end. I’ll give it a 4.5 star and looking forward to visit again!

I am not an omakase or raw fish eater but this place converted me into one. They are very accommodating especially for my man’s bday. The person behind the counter have been nice enough to torch my raw fish. Thank you very much, I would recommend it.! The cocktails are top notch!

The 30 min experience is quick but delicious. You cannot beat the price. Afterward grab a drink or dessert in the lounge in the back. My faves were the bbq eel and the miso cod. I will definitely be back!

I love omakase experience once in a while to enjoy the delicacy of rare sushi/sashimi. My boyfriend and I heard about Sushi by Bou from a friend of his, whom was visiting NYC, he went and really liked the experience. So when first heard about the price, which is very reasonable, for a 30 minute 12 course omakase.
I arrived early and started with drinks, cocktail selection and mixes are nice, I am a gin person, they have Japanese Roku, that’s just perfect for my cocktail!
Back to the omakase: they sat us in groups of 6 for each chef, just the right amount of customers. The chef asked about allergies, which is a very important thing now that a lot of people are allergic to various kinds of food ingredients!!
The 12 courses of sushi came in order as shown, the fish used aren’t the most rare, however the way they were carefully handled with the cut, the torching, the press of rice, and the mix of sauce/juice… really made my eyes widen a few times.
And we also ordered “big mac” afterwards, it’s a huge mouthful of delicacies, you just have to try it~ we even for the 2 people sitting next to us trying them since they heard us getting so excited about this Big Mac. That texture in your mouth gives 100% satisfaction!!
Double thumbs up!!👍🏼👍🏼
