awful customer service. I even contacted corporate about my poor experience and I have still not heard back. It's a shame because the food is good but I do not want to so somewhere to spend a lot of money to only be treated poorly

Very disappointing. The sushi and the drinks are really good but the service is an absolute disaster. I do wanna say that the manager tried his best to make amends for the poor service we received. It’s a shame because it has a lot of potential to be a great place but they’re clearly short staffed

I fail to understand how a restaurant that charges exorbitant prices can provide such poor service. We endured a long wait for our food and struggled to find the waiters. The food was average, but the service made it feel poor. They would take the plates away, bring more food, and then take too long to return the plates. Sometimes, they didn’t even bring the plates back, and we had to ask them!

I dined here on Christmas Day with my girlfriend and was left disappointed. While the Lobster Mac was good, it fell short of being the best I’ve ever had. The rice cake and oysters were decent, and the Wagyu porterhouse was satisfactory. However, the salmon la plancha was a major letdown. The portion was surprisingly small, and the flavor was underwhelming. In fact, I’ve had better salmon from my local supermarket. Unfortunately, this experience has convinced me not to return. For truly exceptional dining, I recommend Blu on the Hudson in New Jersey.

Went here for my birthday this year and it was great, the service was fantastic. These people are true professionals! We were seated immediately on a very busy night. Our server was very attentive despite juggling several tables, and the management even checked in when we sent back some crab for not being fresh enough. Everything else we had was excellent, in particular the wagyu porterhouse. I’m not particularly a huge red meat eater but I couldn’t get enough of it. We took the bone home it was so good. Their Klondike dessert was not only delicious, but really fun to eat. Definitely recommend.

One star because we ordered dinner and the server seemed to have forgotten to put our order in. One of us got our food and it got cold waiting on the second person where we had to eat that plate. When the second plate came out, the steak was rare and bloody. We sent it back and after a long wait it came back the same. The tables next to us both got their orders right and ordered the same exact things we did. They got their food before us and together. We didn’t even have water because we waited so long. This was an anniversary dinner and quite disappointed with the customer service here.

5 person reservation to celebrate a birthday and they seated us at a table for 4... Literally never experienced that before let alone at a place where the check was going to be $$$$$... They reseated us after we made a fuss (my younger sibling had been feeling faint that day and being squished into a booth presented a serious problem) but needless to say it ruined the experience, as did them forgetting one of our appetizers... Wouldn't have fazed me at a Cheesecake Factory but here???

Also the layout of the men's bathroom shows such a lack of consideration for guests' experiences, the entire restaurant just seems designed to extract as much money from you as possible rather than give you a good time.

Also, the food was good but very, very far from being worth the price.

Dined here with my friends last night. It was a night to remember! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was full of energy. Loud and crowdy, The food was out of this world—every dish was 10 out of 10! Special thanks to our amazing waitress, Tasha. She brought so much warmth and charm to our table, making us feel right at home. Her smile lit up the room, and she made sure every little detail was perfect, checking in with us without ever being intrusive. At the very end she brought shots and warm delicious chocolate cookies and thanked for being her favorite guests of the night!
That was very sweet! I can’t wait to go back, and I’ll definitely be requesting Tasha again.

We had a reservation for four people at 7 p.m. When we arrived, our table was ready, and we were able to be seated without delay.

The waiter explained the menu to us. Since we had a companion with us who is not a native English speaker, we asked the waiter to speak a bit more slowly. He made no effort to do so, which meant we had to explain everything to our friend ourselves.

We ordered four cocktails: two lychee (very small) and two gin & juice (ridiculously full of ice with little actual drink, costing $20 each).

The food was very tasty. We especially recommend the pretzel bread and the yellowfin tuna.

Unfortunately, the silverware provided for my main course was not clean; it was sticky. I informed the waiter, but he didn’t apologize—just gave me an annoyed look.

The two desserts were delicious, and the “Carnival” was fun and creatively presented. The dessert was the highlight of our evening.

Unfortunately, things went downhill from there.

We received a bill for $522. We handed the waiter our credit card. The waiter returned with the receipt, and it turned out that $594 had been charged. We complained. No apology from the waiter—just mumbled something about not knowing what went wrong and suggested that the higher amount must be correct.

Then the manager came over. We explained the issue to him, and lo and behold, the lower amount was indeed correct. I requested a receipt to confirm the refund of the incorrect charge, but he was unable to provide one. However, he did give us his contact details in case the refund wasn’t processed correctly afterward. Still, no real apology from the manager.

In Europe, we’re used to restaurants going out of their way to make things right after such a significant error. A restaurant manager would be thoroughly embarrassed by such a mistake. Typically, in Europe, they might offer a complimentary dessert or drink to make up for it. Not here.

Make sure to double-check your bill at this restaurant!

Due to this incident and the overall poor service, we are giving only two stars and left zero dollars in tip for the evening.

Overcharged. The bartender gave THEMSELVES a 40% tip without my consent. I will be disputing this charge and reviewing my additional options as this is basically theft and fraud. If they did it to me they did it to other people, which basically means that could be you next. I don't know what kind of belief of entitlement the bartender has over someone else's money but this wrong. This establishment needs to review what kind of employees they are hiring.

We ordered the bluefin trash, the hamaci was GREAT, somehow both crudos came with the same broth and sauce… all that money and you can’t exhibit skill to make different crudo? wagyu fried rice pointless, chicken bao buns pointless, cocktails were just okay. Everything was pretty wack. Also it’s super loud. Table next to ours with two people, the one lady is screaming for no reason at all. Too much going on. Rent out the hallway on the way up. Our visit to Catch started out well and the service started off great! It rapidly declined with a rapid speed once the group I was with decided the late night appetizers and drinks were enough for us. The entire staff turned and started staring at us when our server, Cayley shared this with her fellow servers. Against better judgment, we asked to go to rooftop bar. The female bar tender there was beyond rude. I have never been treated so poorly in any restaurant nor with such pretentiousness.

Food: 5/5
Service: 4/5
Atmosphere: 2/5

Here’s why.
Atmosphere: It was SOOOO LOUD in this place, I literally developed a headache. We sat upstairs, and judging by others pictures, there is another dining room that is larger. Perhaps the small size contributed to the poor acoustics, but it did make the evening very unpleasant!
Otherwise, the room itself, decor and layout was fine if not quaint in an elegant way.
Service: Our waitress was quite lovely. Just had a great demeanor about her. I think she wanted me to kiss her. I would’ve. She was quite cute. But, the hostesses … sheesh. They have off this “Look pal. I work the runway modeling, sooo, just you wait till I’m ready to seat you”. Was just a look and vibe that I noticed.
Food: I had the seared barramundi or some such white flakey fish which was quite the dish. Moist and just the right amount of flavor! Highly recommend!
The dudes at this place, especially the ones standing at the bar, looked like complete posers! Their entirety was so paper thin it was almost embarrassing. Wow. I guess they can get away with that in NYC.
I’d say Get Some, but sit outside where it’s quieter.

I wanted to share a very disappointing experience I had at your establishment. My girlfriend and I had a table reserved, and our friends were already seated downstairs. We waited patiently for over 15 minutes while I repeatedly tried to get the doorman’s attention, but he completely ignored us. After my girlfriend politely mentioned that it felt disrespectful to be overlooked, he finally responded, only to tell us we couldn’t enter because it was past the reservation time—despite our table being ready.

When I explained that this wasn’t right and asked if he could just let us in, he became rude and confrontational, as if trying to provoke a fight. To make matters worse, the security staff behind him were smiling, almost as if they were making a joke out of the situation. They even started saying things like, “Oh, you’re just going to walk away now?” as if trying to gaslight me into reacting further.

This behavior was shocking and completely unprofessional. What should have been a fun night turned into a very negative experience, and I hope this feedback is taken seriously so others don’t have to go through the same.

Not a bad restaurant but very overpriced for what you get. The food is legitimately good quality but it’s just pricey for the portions. The outdoor patio is a bit scruffy. As example, the crab roll (not pictured) was really good but the size of a normal spring roll for over $20. The octopus was fine (nothing too special).

I was really surprised. This spot was for all ages. Cute outside seating. We went around 4 PM before it got busy. We had some drinks and some appetizers. Drinks were great. I loved their espresso martini (with Grey Goose. I don't like all the sweetness with vanilla vodka!) It was on point. Their sushi was the best I have ever had and we travel and eat at alot of very nice spots! Their seaweed wasn't chewy. It was definitely fresh melting as you chew and their fish was fresh and excellent with great flavors. We didn't have much but did order another round of the same two appetizers. Yellowtail, avocado sushi roll, and the crunchy rice cakes, they were super delicious! And to top it off from the moment you walk in and get greeted by the guy at the door to the entire team was perfect. Friendly, smiling with great service.

This establishment has transformed into a popular tourist destination, emphasizing aesthetics perfect for Instagram. The ambiance exudes a club-like atmosphere. Don't be discouraged by the doorman and the elevator leading to the restaurant. Without a reservation, seating isn't available, and even with one, expect a lengthy wait. While the staff is polite, the waiting area can be quite overwhelming. It's worth mentioning that the restaurant is dimly lit and quite noisy. When it comes to the food, it's decent, but the exorbitant prices might not be entirely justified. However, I highly recommend trying the tartare trio, crispy nori tacos, crispy shrimp, and cauliflower. On the other hand, I'd advise against ordering the octopus or the steak, as they were somewhat underwhelming and the portions were quite small. Overall, I think this is a fun place if you are looking for something different and don't mind spending money. Otherwise, there are way better places to eat Asian food around the area.

Catch is the ultimate tourist trap—designed for the wealthy and influencers more interested in looking cool than enjoying a quality meal. The service was painfully slow; we had to ask for napkins multiple times, and our waitress took forever to take our order. To top it off, it took them 12 minutes just to bring our bill back to sign. As for the food? Completely overpriced and disappointingly mediocre. You’d get far better value at an Omakase experience, Nobu, or even a spot in Chinatown, where the food actually tastes like it’s made with care. $29 for four tiny Wagyu dumplings was laughable. The only saving grace? The drinks. Save yourself the trouble and head to RH around the corner, because you're really only paying Catch's Meatpacking location rent when you dine here.

The food was exquisite. The food was so delicious. The spicy crab rolls were soft, creamy and cooked to perfection. The fillet (beef) skewers were tender, juicy, tasty, and cooked to perfection [medium well, not too pink, not too dry; Goldie Locks would've loved it]. The Basmati rice was nicely seasoned and laced with herbs, cooked for the perfect duration, not starchy, but moist. The truffle fries were laced with herbs, parmesan cheese sprinkled on too and lightly seasoned, served with ketchup and a creamy horseradish/tartar sauce mixture. The crispy chicken boa bun was so delicious, moist, soft, and tasty. They were served with a creamy sauce, romaine lettuce housed in a soft, buttery boa bun. The server, was very attentive and considerate. We told him about my fish and peanut allergy and he steared our meal selection in the right direction, helping me to avoid an episode that would ruin my night. The drinks were refreshing, tasty and not watered down, served with one perfectly shaped and sized ice cube.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Catch in New York City, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance of the place is incredible—modern yet cozy, with a vibe that makes you want to linger long after your meal is over.

To start, I indulged in their fresh oysters, which were nothing short of perfection—briny, crisp, and bursting with flavor. They were easily some of the best I've had in the city. The Caesar salad followed, and while it wasn't the traditional take on the classic dish, it was a delightful surprise. The unique twist on ingredients made it even tastier than expected, showcasing the chef’s creativity.

The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the octopus. It was, without question, the best I've had in New York. Tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented, it was a dish that exemplified the high culinary standards of the restaurant.

Overall, Catch offers not just a meal, but an experience. Whether you're there for a casual evening or a special occasion, the combination of outstanding food and an inviting atmosphere makes it a must-visit in the city. I can’t wait to return!

Overall a terrible and expensive experience.

POSITIVE
- Location + it's beautiful looking

NEGATIVE
- WAIT/FRONT DESK. Advance reservation for 5 people (business dinner) and with an empty room (3 tables had people), they made us wait for 10+ minutes. The front desk made us feel like we are not important. The seating wasn't the table we hoped for - we asked for another table and weren't given a choice - again with restaurant being empty.

- SERVICE. Absolutely terrible. The waiter didn't ask once how was our food, whether we wanted something else, whether anyone needed drink refills. I actually requested waiter 3 times from bus boys. When I saw waiter and mentioned that I was looking for him, he was rude saying that he was at our table few times - well.. not asking us anything.

- FOOD. We ordered Prix Fixe (Restaurant Week) at $60/pp. I didn't want it, as it was one of the worst Prix Fixe I've seen, but few people wanted it and you have to order pre-fixe with the whole table. For extras we had Oysters. Please keep in mind - it's Seafood restaurant in NY, super expensive, so you expect top notch quality from it:

- Oysters. Not good. Didn't feel super fresh - something was weird, felt cooked on the bottom, vs fresh - can't put it to words.
- Sushi rol. It was OK at best. I've had better many times.
- Wagyu Gyoza. Yes - it sounds good. Basic meat gyoza - nothing to brag about.
- Salmon. One of the worst ones I've had. The waiter asked how we would like it to be cooked and that chef recommends "medium". I haven't heard that asked before (generally for meat only). So the "medium" was almost burned skin (way too crispy/char) and RAW inside. It didn't have appropriate side dish either, with few asparguses on the plate.
- Mojito. The drink wasn't great due to ridicolous amount of ice.

All of us didn't feel good later in the evening after eating this food. This was the only food I had for the day, so I had no doubt something wasn't fresh.

Just go somewhere else if you have money to spend. I loved Steak Frites Bistro which is 1.5 miles away.

It was one of our favorite places to dine: comfortable and relaxed ambience; really good food up until really we decided to have dinner and take advantage of the Restaurant Week. I never thought i would write a negative review and say that food , especially branzino was not fresh . At first , i thought it was my imagination. However my husband had a really bad food poisoning and wasn’t eating since we had dinner at Catch .

Its a shame .. !!! and i hope someone from administration of the restaurant will care..

Food was okay, service was very mediocre. I think the actual server came to our table to greet us, get our order and once when we had our food. Never asked how the appetizers were or if we needed more drinks. Definitely had way better for the prices they want. Felt extremely rushed as well for a nicer place.

Steak was over cooked and our fish had bones in it

Let’s start by saying the atmosphere is underwhelming in comparison to LA’s location. Secondly, I discovered they have a colored section, then try to sprinkle a bit of Caucasian in the mix to not make it look bad. Stop! it’s so obvious. My friend and I walk in and requested to be seated outside. The lady states you have to have a reservation to be seated outside. I said I didn’t make a reservation because on the booking app there were plenty of availabilities. My friend then quickly booked it. We can now miraculously sit outside. She instructed another guy to seat us outside but she sternly made an emphasis on where we should be seated outside. Now, we’re seated he came back and said I’m sorry this table is taken. Keep in mind the area where we were seated looks a bit more well taken care of. Now he takes us to the “Colored side” where most of who were already seated looks like us. Then, another gentleman I guess felt bad and said desert will be on him. Then after we felt rushed and it was so obvious that the interaction was so forced. So sick of this kind of behavior. Now when we speak up, we automatically become the aggressor.

We will never return!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Catch with a large group of friends, some from California and some from Miami, and it was an unforgettable experience. The highlight of our evening was the outstanding service from the manager, Zack. He was incredibly polite and exceptionally customer-oriented. Despite our group's size, he managed to secure us the best table, ensuring we had a fantastic time. Zack's attention to detail and dedication to our satisfaction truly made our night special. Thank you, Zack, for making our evening at Catch so wonderful!

I was planning my daughter's birthday dinner and was trying to make a reservation. I called and spoke with an incompetent "supervisor" named Katilyn, who is very rude, unprofessional and disrespectful. She lacks customer service skills and patience. A formal complaint will be made with the respective city and states department personnel. I will NEVER waste my money going here, it would have been a first.

I had a really terrible experience here recently. I had booked a table for 11 for 5:30pm. When half the group arrived the restaurant was empty and the hostess refused to let us sit down at the table. One of our party was carrying two bags and asked the hostess that if we can’t sit, can she leave her bags somewhere. The hostess responded “get away from me, you’re making me anxious”.

When we finally got to our table, it took 30 mins for our order to be taken despite only one other table being occupied. Then we pointed out that there is a discrepancy between the cost of wine in the wine menu and the regular menu. When we asked our server about this they looked confused and couldn’t tell us the price of the wine.

The food, when we eventually got it, was only ok but I could never go back to to this restaurant after the terrible hostess, incorrect menus and slow service.

While the entrance needs more prominence and more light near the elevators, the food was great. It was tasty and cooked perfectly. Appreciated the cooking of some of the steak further for people with dietary preferences. Service was good though a bit slow and some of the food came out of order. Overall, I would go back because of the food taste and the good group we were with. Easily accommodated our reservation group getting smaller without shifting us to a smaller table. Good times!

I love this vibe here. That being said there are not much options for pescatarians to choose from depending on what they like. But the waiter was pretty nice and was okay with me replacing my order. I would say the price is a bit up there for the food quality but that is not to say the quality was bad, just a bit pricey for not much. I'd go again perhaps on a special occasion but not just for great food..

I’ll be honest this restaurant was grossly overpriced for what it is. The food was ok but you can definitely get it elsewhere for not even 25% of the bill. I would highly recommend you avoid and not even go for the food even as a last resort.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Every dish in the “Hits II” tasting menu surpassed expectations and was delicious.

Unfortunately, it cannot get 5 stars because the service was very slow, and they put a group of 10 of us at a table that was better suited for 6, or maybe 8–but definitely not 10 being forced to sit shoulder to shoulder.

Went here for my friends birthday dinner on a Saturday night. I know this place gets busy but it took about 20 mins for us to be greeted at our table. I’m a server as well so I’m used to this being unacceptable. Hire more servers or something, with the price people pay, they don’t want to wait. Our server kept running away as we were about to ask for things. It took him 3-4 visits to let us order food and even then we had to flag him down. He didn’t ask us for refills or anything either so lower check avg for him I guess. I never leave a review about service but it was notably bad I felt like I was just there killing time w no food, we had to chase him down to even leave too.
The food was really good but I wouldn’t go back for the embarrassing service honestly.
I got the wagyu fried rice honestly stellar if you do go must get! Our steak was also rare when we ordered medium. I honestly don’t get the hype given how many mistakes/slow/unprofessional service was. Go at your own risk!

Also cake was so so good!

I wanted to take a drink at the bar and was simply waiting and one of the bouncer asked me to move in a very rude way and litterally pushed me to take my place at the bar and order drinks for people that he knew apparently. It was very rude because he physically forced me (the customer) to move from the bar and it was clearly innapropriate

The worst Front desk staff in NYC, rude straight up. 80% of tables empty but we were made to wait for a table that was occupied. Then to request a change of tables you have to go back to level 2 from level 4....whereas this could have been done on the walkie talkie since the woman on level 2 already knew that ive come to request a table change. NEVER going back.

Date June 14th 8.30pm.
DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE NONE WHITE. There are 25000 restaurants in NYC. You have choices. Any of us or our friends wont go here.
I am a google writer with 30 million views in 42 countries. I write review with my real name. We were total of 4 brown couples. We were treated like 2nd class citizens or racially profiled. I was feeling it right away. I kept my mouth shut. My buddy reached and said the same thing. When we left the place we realized, everyone felt that way. Whole time the waitress acted like she was doing us a favor. Manager came by once. We hinted at him. He made a joke and walked away. What she didn't know about us was, we had 2 CEO's in the group and few other well accomplished people. We were entertaining a partner from Dubai. We were embarrassed. After spending over $1000, we should leave happy. NO. WE WERE VERY UNHAPPY. We were going to order more drinks. Everyone said, lets go somewhere. They don't like us here. We always go to Tao, Budhakan, Budha bar. They always treat us great. Ended of going to Tao for more drinks. There are brown CEO's at Google, Microsoft, Starbucks to name few.
HOPE THEY WONT DO THIS TO OTHER BROWN PEOPLE.

I had a terrible experience at Catch in New York, not once but twice! Both times, when it came time to pay, they insisted on taking my card to process the payment. As someone who looks like an out-of-town visitor, I later noticed additional charges on my card the next day. This is highly suspicious and unacceptable, as it seems like they’re taking advantage of tourists by stealing card details.

If you still decide to dine here, make sure to never let your card out of your sight. Insist on paying in person and do not hand over your card to the staff. This kind of behavior is a huge red flag, and it completely ruined what could have been a pleasant dining experience. Be very cautious!

Horrible experience - NYC'ers do not think about going on a Saturday night! Wow...from the frenetic and unapologetically disorganized and nasty hostesses to the frat party, Jersey-heavy iphone flashlights and selfie snapping obnoxious crowd, to the raw bar and roof closed...the whole night was awful. It was a disaster with no one managing or trafficking/controlling the joint. I didn't see a manager at all. Food was so late it was ridiculous and not good. AVOID on Saturday nights. We wanted to dine at the outside of the rooftop. We were told it's mainly for drinks. Besides, it was chilly that day. So, we ended up dining inside of the rooftop. The 5 of us ordered 2 lush lemonade & a strawberry spritz. The drinks looked great, but I had none of them. Our daughter ordered truffle sashimi & Catch roll with spicy mayo. Can't believe they charged $3 for it. Yhe sashimi is great. I should have used some of the grated Wasabi from the roll with the sashimi. I ate the wasabi with the sliced scallion from the sashimi with the truffle sauce. This alone was marvelous. For the main, my wife got the Scottish salmon, and I got the sautéed snapper. Our son ordered the porterhouse with asparagus (these are monstrosities). Both the fish were cooked medium, which is done perfectly to order. It's not often we find fish like these in a restaurant cooked so perfectly. The bad part of the dining experience was that the manager offered us 2 complimentary dishes: pretzel bread & edamame & they didn't take them off the bill. We almost paid for them. Another disconcerting annoyance was the "suggested" 20% minimum tips was calculated based on the total bill even we have a credit, which stemmed from a prior visit that did go well. This would mean we would be paying double tips on the credit portion. Not cool.

If you're after a sophisticated, comfortable conversation & pleasant service dinner - this is not the place for you.
Our reservation was at 8pm, we arrived and it took 10 mins to get us seated. They asked for the name under the reservation about 3 times while we waited to get seated - first red flag.
We were seated upstairs, with the tables entirely too close to each other. We waited about 25 minutes after being seated to have our food order taken, the waiter interrupted us making the order about 3 times to offer specials and items from parts of the menu that we didn't order from. We knew exactly what we wanted - the upsell was too hard.
Our first round of rolls came about 30-35 mins after we ordered which is shockingly long considering we had been in the restaurant for about an hour by then. The food kept coming very slowly, the last 2 courses arrived significantly later than the rolls (even though they were small plates). We intended to have dessert but by the time the food finished arriving and we ate, it was already too late for dessert.
Besides the slow service, the restaurant itself was very loud with mostly large groups of people occupying the space. We could not talk without shouting over the people at the tables next to us.
To wrap up this experience, our change was handed to us short, presumably on purpose, as we asked for the change when the waiter came to re-confirm if we wanted the change in the first place.
The food was fine, good quality but quite overpriced. Drinks were nice, although also quite overpriced for what they are. Very hard upselling throughout dinner to get more food and drinks - we may have gotten less than your average American visitor but asking once would have been enough.
Overall, I would not recommend this establishment, you are better off either going somewhere local if you want sushi or choosing a different upscale spot which will have more respect for your time & money.
