Great food, great ambiance, terrible service. Disrespectful and condescending hosts and servers. Food was great but very poor manners and judgmental during service from the server. Very disappointing because of the staff.

I typically love the Tao group restaurants but this one did not impress. The quality of the food is no where close to the other restaurants and the amount of food is terribly disappointing. It’s never great when you spend 500+ on the check and leave to go get pizza. The concept is supposed to be Japanese and the sushi is horrible. All of the roles are 30-40 a roll for basic rolls - no real wow factor or originality - and what’s comes out is even worse. We ordered 3 different roles and all 3 were a bunch of cucumber rolled in seaweed with the fish sitting on top. The favor of the cucumber is so overwhelming you don’t taste anything else. The appetizer portion for the beef tar tar was also absurd. Again 30 dollars which is fine if you’re getting something good, but it was 3 tiny bites about the size of tiny stick of gum and the flavor profile was not impressive. Moral of the story skip this one and go somewhere else. If you want ambiance there are plenty of restaurants in nyc that do it better. I would still go to other Tao group restaurants but will definitely never return here.

Sake No Hana was such a vibe and the food was absolutely delicious. My favorite meal by far was the Wafu Carbonara but the sushi was also really good (especially the eel truffle roll). I didn’t get a picture of it but make sure to get the Matcha Tiramisu. It’s also nice that it’s right next to the Highlight Room. Sake No Hana is perfect for a girls night out :)

I went to this restaurant on Thursday, 11/14/24, for my birthday dinner because I'd heard great things from friends and was really excited to try it. I made a reservation for 11 people at 8:15 pm ET, and everyone in my group arrived on time. However, they told us we'd be seated closer to our reservation time but kept delaying it. In the end, we didn't get seated until 45 minutes later. There was no apology for the long wait, despite having a reservation at 8:15 pm ET.

When we finally sat down, we ordered à la carte for the whole table, and to be honest, the food was way too salty and the service was not great.

When we got our check, we noticed we were overcharged for drinks we bought at the bar and an entrée we never received. We asked them to dispute the charges, and they said they did. But what was really odd was how long it took for them to give us a corrected receipt. At one point, the host even asked if we wanted to charge the transaction on his card--a very strange ask.

I just got home from my birthday trip over the weekend and checked my credit card statement. The disputed charge wasn't corrected. What's even more suspicious is that they made it look like two separate transactions: one listed under "Moxy Hotel Lower East" on 11/14/24, and the other under the actual restaurant name, "Sake no Hana," on 11/15/24. This was clearly an attempt to make the charges look like two different transactions.

To be treated like this by a high-end restaurant is beyond disappointing, and I would never recommend this place to anyone. I would give ZERO stars if I could.

An exceptional sushi experience with few comparisons outside places like Manhattan. Accessible down twisting stairs beneath the Moxy hotel, the restaurant offers a comfortably dark and elegantly focused dining oasis. My server left her station and walked me through her favorite menu items at my seat. She helped select the best sushi meal I’ve ever had.

The Nagatini Cowgirl cocktail and spicy nuts set the palate. A hot, salty helping of perfectly seared shishito peppers warmed the stage. The Hamachi Crudo was unique and beautiful. The spicy yellowtail with coriander aioli was delicate and dreamy. The nigiri included amazing chu toro (fatty tuna) and o toro (bluefin tuna). My mouth still waters.

I also had the chef’s selected fish at market price, but cannot remember its name. It was, however, as my server promised: the best sushi I’ve ever had. She said their fish comes in from Japan every 48 hours.

This meal was a birthday present to myself, and priced as an annual treat and not something I could do everyday. If you like sushi, give yourself the same opportunity.

This place is 0/10 do yourself a favor and don’t come to this restaurant!!! Service is horrible and the manager has an attitude. We had an issue with the food, and instead of deducting the charge from our check they gave us a round of sake that was already included. Soooo We ended up paying for food that we didn’t consume.

I’m going to start off by saying that sake no Hanna was the best, everything and I mean everything was on point. I had Isaac as a server and let me tell you he was amazing!!! super friendly, very knowledgeable and attentive. He gave great recommendations. For my drink, I choose to have princess peach and it was well made drink, if you’re into drinks that are on the sweeter side this is the drink for you. Everything was flavorful!! My favorite dishes would be the spicy tuna tartare, filet mignon and wafu carbonara. A must try for dessert would be the matcha tiramisu, it is out of this world, super delicious. Overall I had a great experience. I definitely will be coming back and recommending this place.

I made a reservation and still ended up waiting 2+ hours to be seated (reason I didn't leave I already paid for parking) hostess kept telling my group we would be next to be seated multiple times just to end up seating another group (we ended up moving in front of them and taking up space to the point they couldn't ignore us anymore). They kept trying to offer us champagne for our wait but we were starving and didn't want to keep drinking on an empty stomach. The ambience of the place is very beautiful but the service and the wait is not worth it. The food itself was decent but not for the price you're paying. The manager did offer us some free apps and sake because of how long we waited. Also they attempted at charging me 554 dollars when the original bill was 296 so I also had to make a complaint about that as well. Overall I would never come back here even if they paid me to come cause the hostess are disorganized and they tried to make me pay almost double of my original bill and the food was okay.

The food was great but I stand firmly disappointed in the service. Simply put, you're treated like an inconvenience. Despite reserving a table, providing a deposit and arriving on time, my party felt extremely rushed by the staff here. It felt like an absolute joke when we've watched tables near us stay there much longer than us while the waitress kept approaching us every other second to try to take our order when we're orienting ourselves and trying to take in the atmosphere, and decide on what to order. I understand it's a restaurant and they want to get as many people in & out as possible but again, we reserved a table, we're paying for our food and experience. It's our friend's birthday and it makes no sense why we would need to feel like we need to be rushed. It conveyed a feeling of being an annoying inconvenience for the restaurant. From the time of our reservation, to the time we left, it was only an hour and thirty minutes to get settled, use their facilities, order, eat, talk, and take pictures. It felt disappointing for the entire party who didn't want to make a big deal but obviously noticed the contrast in service from other tables. If you're looking to actually receive quality service, do not come here, you're treated like the world's biggest inconvenience if you do.

Terrible hostess, as someone who works in the service industry you should know how to be able to work with reservation and flip tables in a timely matter. We had reservation for 9:30 I called ahead to let them know we were adding two guest they said it wasn’t an issue we’d just had to wait a few minutes… a few minutes turned into an hour and a half the host told me our table was being set up, 30 mins later she told us people were still sitting at our table ? When another guest from my party went to ask about the time again she spoke to her in a rude matter telling her she already told us our table was being set up 30 mins ago .. we were lied about the status of our table multiple times.

Food was honestly ok… was expecting more but nothing wow’d me. They say they recommend family style but none of the portions are anywhere close enough to share. The only good thing I can say about this place is the interior is gorgeous but unfortunately the service or food does not match it. But a thank you to the manager who finally took things into hands and was the only person presenting any type of hospitality.

Honestly everything was amazing hit out waitress was the worst and sooooo unprofessional. I can look over her taking half an hour to come back to the table and take out order and only came when she saw us talking to the manager. lol. But aside from that she tried dictating what our boyfriends wanted and didn’t. lol. ASIDE FROM THAT ! I asked her about the crown melon dessert and onto why it’s 250$ she literally said “well you have to buy it first and then I’ll tell you LMAO. And she said wasn’t educated to elaborate on what she’s selling. I believe her name started with an A. But you guys can check the cameras .. we were the last table on Friday .. technically Saturday because we left at 1 am.
On top of that she begged us to leave her a review because she gets a “bonus “ lol well here’s your review. Never coming here again

Dining at Sake no Hana was an exceptional experience, especially since taking my 16-year-old son with severe autism to a fine dining restaurant can be challenging. From the moment we arrived, our server, Fallon, made us feel welcomed and comfortable. The team went above and beyond, providing a bag of sensory toys and a headset from KultureCity, the nation's leading nonprofit for sensory accessibility and acceptance for those with invisible disabilities. It was truly the most thoughtful dining experience we've ever had.

The vibe at Sake no Hana is just as impressive as the food. The decor transports you to an Izakaya in Japan, with an elegant ambiance that perfectly complements the exquisite dishes. Chef Jackie's culinary expertise shines through in every bite. The wagyu beef was insanely good, tender, and flavorful. The Black Truffle Uni Udon was a hit—rich, decadent, and absolutely unforgettable. And the desserts? Simply divine. The whisky chocolate dessert, reminiscent of my favorite cocktail, the Manhattan, was the perfect ending to an outstanding meal.

Sake no Hana has set a new standard for what a dining experience should be—delicious, thoughtful, and memorable.

Have to say I’m disappointed with the hospitality with this place especially for being in the Tao Group. Coming in for a date night out with my boyfriend.
The food is great. A lot of great dishes with flavor.
However the hostess with curly hair, right off the back put a bitter taste in our mouth before we even got seated. We had requested a larger table rather than being placed in a confined area (Due to my boyfriend being very tall). She denied us our requests and tells us the table is reserved and seated for 3 people ..
15 minutes later we see she seats a small group of 3 at the exact table we requested that just walked in asking for availability with no reservations ahead of time.
We walked in all excited wanting to try their best sake they had but after being brushed aside because the restaurant wants to make the most money by filling their place when there were clearly other tables to be filled at the time, we didn’t feel like spending more than we wanted to.
Maybe you should train your hostesses to be more accommodating and warm welcoming and you’d have more customers willing to return and easily spend more.

I’ve been here twice and I loved everything I ate. Don’t let the fact that this is under a moxy deter you from coming the food here is amazing. To start, my fav app was the tuna tartare. It was so good we ordered a second one. We also enjoyed the mushroom salad. But the steak tartare was so tiny (3 small toast pieces). Similarly, the 3 egg chawanmushi was listed under the large dishes section but it was also small (posted a pic).

The rolls are all very unique and creative, even the avocado roll. The sashimi is also fresh but small - prices are by the piece not 2 pieces.

For carbs, we got the wafu carbonara and the short rib yakimeshi (fried rice). Both were amazing. The sauce in the carbonara was great and the bone marrow in the fried rice was great as well.

For the entree, the sea bass was tender and perfectly cooked and the branzino was actually very unique - the flavors and marinade were different from anything I’ve ever had at a Greek restaurant I highly recommend the branzino and I never say that.

The desserts were also all unique. The waiter told us not to order the mochi donuts tho so I guess don’t get those. We got the strawberry parfait, matcha tiramisu, and tropical kakigori. All of them hit. The kakigori was kinda big tho so I didn’t really love it but it was a crowd pleaser.

They are most famous for this melon they sell that’s from this special tree. It’s $250 and they give you a certificate of authenticity. I’m not a melon person so I wasn’t that into it but if that’s your thing then you should go for it.

The only complaint I had was that we only ordered food an hour into the reservation (but we were ready to order way early) to be fair, we were a large group and the place was busy but a very long period of time passed between the first time our waiter introduced himself and when he came back to take our orders.

Overall, I have and will come back here.

Sushi Experience №55

My recent visit to Sake No Hana with a group of six friends was a rollercoaster of experiences. Our evening started on a high note with our server's exceptional friendliness and warmth. However, the initial optimism quickly faded as we encountered a series of mishaps.

The first hiccup was a mix-up with a drink order, a minor inconvenience that we brushed off. However, our patience was truly tested when our entrees, including the highly anticipated A5 Wagyu, took an excruciating hour and a half to arrive. Upon tasting the Wagyu, we were immediately skeptical. It lacked the characteristic marbling and flavor of A5 Wagyu, tasting more like a standard steak.

To the restaurant's credit, they promptly removed the dish from the bill and offered to prepare new entrees. But this gesture only prolonged our wait, as the replacements took another hour to arrive. Additionally, some parts of our original order were completely forgotten, and it took 2 1/2 hours for us to finally receive them after reminding the staff.

Despite these service setbacks, most of the food we sampled was quite good. The appetizers arrived promptly and were delicious, and the other entrees we eventually received were enjoyable. The cocktails, apart from the initial mix-up, were well-prepared.

Perhaps this was an off night for the restaurant. It was a Sunday evening on Father's Day, which may have led to staffing shortages or other operational challenges. However, as a repeat customer who has previously enjoyed excellent service and authentic A5 Wagyu at Sake No Hana, this experience was undeniably disappointing.

In conclusion, Sake No Hana offers a mixed bag. While the food is generally tasty and the ambiance inviting, the inconsistent service and the Wagyu incident cast a shadow over the overall experience. If you decide to visit, be prepared for potential delays and double-check your order to avoid disappointment.

First of all big shout out to Maria Romeo, Kaybri, Tina and Michael for the hospitality! They took care of my guests as if we were family.

Appetizers: We had two orders Dragon Chicken, three orders of Shrimp Tempura, and Yellow Fish Tail sushi. Everything was excellent. I mean my pallet was going crazy with the first bite of the chicken. Sushi was at the perfect temperature.

Main Dish: i had the bone marrow fried rice, so did a couple of my friends. We had a mixture of vegetables fried rice and Salmon. There were no complaints at all. We even ordered food to go.

Drinks: We had a fxxking Rabbit (2), margaritas (3), Manhattan (3). Cel Saki (6) shots

Desserts: We had the brand new shaved ice with ice cream… man, i have no words to explain. It was amazing.

Again, a big thank you to Maria for my team to have an excellent time. It was their first time, so thank you. Kaybri you went above and beyond from the time we got there to the time we left. Tina, our favorite hostess, we loved your energy. We love your patience and grateful for your kind spirit. Special thank you to our Saki Samurai, Michael.

Came here Sunday night for dinner—restaurant is located downstairs of the Moxy hotel, very dim lit in here. The ambiance and decor is nice! Service was okay, our server took a while to greet us and didn’t come off that friendly.

Food was okay. The Prawn and Asparagus Tempura was mediocre, also bland. The BBQ Freshwater Eel & Black Truffle Sushi Roll was delicious! The Wafu Carbonara was interesting with the poached egg, truffle and uni—would have preferred the sauce to be thicker than liquidy. For drinks, “The Classics Flights” of sake was a nice option to try different types of sake—poured in a shot glass with a decent portion of sake. The Nice Drip cocktail (vodka and cold brew) was alright—cocktails started off $21-$22 a drink.

However… even though we had a reservation we had to wait 1 HOUR to be seated. The hostess was nice and kept promising us that the table is almost ready. The restaurant of that level should not have issues like that. And there were like 10 more people with reservations in the waiting area…
Another thing that surprised me was that right near the waiting area there is a coach with the tables where people can order food as well, I guess it’s not the main area but still. There was a couple, and the woman had her legs on the coach with no shoes on. The guy that she was with kept touching her all over… like we were at the college party…
As I said the food is GREAT but those two things made our experience unpleasant.

The place is beautiful, and the atmosphere was on point. It's a very neat place and is Instagram-friendly 😂. However, the food is definitely the definition of overpriced. While it was good, it was 100% overpriced, and the service was beyond disappointing.
It was a Wednesday, and the restaurant was not even full, yet the service was slow. Very slow!
It's nice to try new restaurants, but it's not a place I will be interested in coming back to or celebrating any of my friends' birthdays there.

My fav was the shrimp tempura roll and the edamame! I also ordered the black truffle steak tartar (was good but nothing crazy), and the yakimeshi was really good.

HOT! HOT! HOT! This place is on fire! A total vibe. Sake No Hana is dark, vibrant and sexy, with its spiral staircase entrance and vaulted bar area ceiling setting the stage for a beautifully appointed dining room. There is also private dining available.
The service was on point, courteous and expedient considering how busy the restaurant was. Never needed to ask for a water refill. Be prepared though, it can get pretty loud.
The food was exquisite! We were a party of 7 (great for special occasions or night out with friends), which made the family style service perfect. The stars of the show are the Karaage Chicken (no pic), Three Egg Chawanmushi, Wafu Carbonara and the Fish Tacos (forgot name) which are a must!
Try one of their sake selections. Presentation is meticulously planned. The craft cocktails are delicious as well! (my fave Gyaru Girl pictured). Bottom line, this Bowery gastronomic temple is a show stopper!………don’t forget your wallet!

We tried a lot of sushi places but this one was the best experience we had. From the moment you enter the restaurant, you feel the Japanese vibe. The decor is beautiful inside, and it made us feel that we are in Japan. We tried couple appetizers. Ademame was cooked with salt and they were excellent. Spicy Tuna tartar was also very good was served with spicy mayo. cucumber salad was perfect, and not to forget the miso soup was really delicious. Sushi was really good we ordered total of 6 roll and they were all delicious.

At first, this restaurant was quite nice at first glance, however, our experience quickly spiraled downward upon entrance. The waiter asked for our choice of beverage, to which we replied with water. He brings out two bottles of water, never clearly stating that it will be charged. We continuously got refills without being asked if we would like more, and ended up being charged 35 dollars for water. Additionally, the waiter asks us if we would like some greens to “chew” on before we began ordering, to which we replied yes under the impression that it was free of charge. He proceeded to bring out two plates of appetizers that we had not ordered, and was charged 12 dollars each for it. Additionally, we ordered two more drinks that were completely forgotten about for about 30 minutes before we had to remind the server to bring for us. By the time it had arrived, the drinks tasted flat and watered down. Our order was also mixed up, leaving one of our friends to sit waiting for an additional 30 minutes after everyone had finished eating before receiving her food. The server had cleared our table and left without realizing she did not receiver her food. We again had to remind him that we didn’t receive anything until he checked in the kitchen. At the end of our meal, the server walks over and makes an uncomfortable comment about our financial status for some odd reason. We were taken aback by this comment, and felt quite uncomfortable. This restaurant is a high end restaurant, and we had high expectations for the food and service. However, this was a very unpleasant experience as the communication lacked any transparency and the food was mediocre. The service was poor and uncomfortable, which made the overall atmosphere unpleasant. I do not recommend, and we will not be returning without a doubt.

The servers word questions in a way that make it seem as though they are not charging you for certain amenities when they 100% are. These questions are phrased in ways such as “Can I get you guys started with some greens to chew on while you wait?” As if this edamame and peppers will be parallel to the free breadsticks one enjoys before their true course meal. In reality, this combination of greens is $12 dollars each, totaling up to $24 dollars worth of food we never consented to paying for. Yes, it may seem that such things will not be offered for free at a restaurant such as this. However, it gets worse. We are then asked if we want to get started on any drinks. We politely ask for just water. They bring out bottles that we expect are just, again, the typical water you choose instead of a drink, which would cost you money. However, Sake No Hana charged us THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS ($35) for 5 waters. To be charging this much money for water, H2O, two hydrogen molecules and one oxygen molecule, is absurd. And to be offering this water as if it is free, with absolutely no heads-up on the “refills” being charged each time is absolutely insane. There is a very clear lack of transparency with this restaurant and they need to stop offering us stuff that has monetary charge, without us asking for it. This is coercion, if you consider that they continued to refill our waters WITHOUT US ASKING FOR IT. Overall, this type of restaurant feels very much like a scheme to pray on customers who don’t expect to be manipulated. For such a high end restaurant, this was a disappointing experience.

To be very honest, I think that the real reason people come here is for the aesthetic. Nice entrance, nice decor...but other than that, it's really it. The food and drinks are okay, nothing crazy about their "popular items", the staff...not very welcoming. I do want to mention that the edamame snack was better than their actual entree. If you want to try this place because of the name and to post on social media that you went there, then by all means go. But there are better high end places worth the money with better food, better drinks and better staff.

The worst dining experience I've ever had at a "fine" dining restaurant. Different staff came over to us multiple times, it was a bit overbearing. They were also stretching over our meals to remove the glasses we weren't using and the napkins we didn't use off the table. I eventually asked one of the staff if he believed it was necessary for him at the time to be removing the items off the table that were not disturbing us..
They gave us a time limit to dine? never heard of this before, our reservation was for 6:45pm, we were told we had the table until 8pm. I found this strange especially since it was not a busy night and no one was waiting to be seated.
We decided to take photos upstairs before exiting the building and was told we needed to turn the flashes off our cameras as it was disturbing the guests downstairs.
The décor was nice but I will not be returning.

I wish I could give this experience 0 stars I would. The food is over-priced for the amount and quality. The servers were overly attentive and it almost feels like you’re being rushed. Upon leaving the restaurant, my friends and I tried to take some pictures upstairs and were told to turn off the flash so as not to disturb the ambiance in the restaurant downstairs. It was absolutely ridiculous. If you're looking for an overpriced place where the service may be variable, then this is the place for you.

We tired the restaurant week three course menu. The tuna tartare was my favourite meal of the night. The short ribs were good as well, especially with the bone marrow, but I wish it didn’t already come mixed with the rice. I really did not like the pineapple mochi cake. Otherwise, it’s a nice atmosphere and servers were super kind and attentive. The hostess was also very sweet. I will say, it’s kind of an IG influencer spot, so be warned if you get annoyed by the constant filming and picture taking.

Best rolls I’ve ever had! You’ve gotta try this place.

Had a great experience all around during date night here with my wife. The staff was very engaging and showed genuine curiosity and care about us, having conversations about sake and making great suggestions for our tastes.

Classics sake flight and their season special were delicious and reasonably priced plus great explanations from staff.

Apps- unique hamachi crudo that wasnt sliced ultra thin, fresh and citrusy. Not a must have. Edamame was good, flavorful seasoning. Pork cheek robata was really good, would recommend.

Rolls were the best part, amount in the order made it well worth it.
- eel truffle was AWESOME so rich and light and melted in my mouth
- wagyu + caviar was DELICIOUS! probably my favorite roll ever and well worth it. Made me tear up a little.
- salmon avocado was super fresh and flavorful, high quality for a classic.

Huge piece of uni was fresh and delicious if you like uni! The uni + shrimp tacos were good, the shell kind of took away from the filling though.

We had a frictionless payment experience through the app we booked with(dorsia) which was really smooth. Nice to be able to get up and go once you’re finished.

It’s so hard to explain how I feel about this place. The atmosphere and vibe is amazing. The service on the other hand, outrageous. The waitress barely ever came by, and I feel like they don’t have their **** together. She brought my drink and spilt it on the table and didn’t even offer to clean it up and I had to ask I guess the manager for a napkin. The food was a hit or miss. The WAFU noodles were BOMMMMMB AF, the truffle steak tartar and wagyu robata were my most memorable. My girls loved the lamb as well. On the other hand, the sushi was very meh. I won’t say it was bad, but i felt like I wasn’t even eating high quality sushi? Scallops were cooked perfectly but were also kind of bland. It was kind of bland. The short rib rice was also meh. As far as desserts, the kakigori was only good on the inside.

Would I come back? Yes. We had a wonderful time for the birthday, but I would definitely avoid the sushi.

Came for a birthday with a party of 10. To make a reservation, they require you to deposit $10pp, which they refund you after the meal. I got the karaage, wafu carbonara, and faroe island salmon. The karaage tasted amazing. Something I noticed was that it tasted as if it had some curry powder in it, and was a great addition to the amazing chicken bites. The wafu carbonara was absolutely amazing. The sauce was so rich and the truffle and creaminess of the uni absolutely shined through. I used the sauce to dip the salmon in because it was just that amazing. Not to diminish the salmon dish however, because the sauce they provide in it was a soy-miso sauce which complimented the salmon perfectly (It was just so much better with the wafu carbonara sauce). I split the karaage amongst 3 and the wafu carbonara and salmon amongst 2. My total came out to around $48 after tax and tip.
Another note I would like to add was that the wait staff was amazing, taking their time to answer and explain any questions and concerns that there may be. Definitely was a great atmosphere and great food if you are looking to splurge on a bigger budget.

Know that the whole party must arrive on time or you'll waiting to get seated. Instagrammable and aesthetically pleasing. The drinks were good. I would recommend the gyaru girl. It is family style so everything can be shared. We started with a few appetizers, our favorite was the tuna tartare, the steak tartare, and most of us liked the pork gyoza (I didn't, to me it tasted like salami), the spicy tuna temaki was good and the three egg chawanmushi was okay. Now the entrees were just okay, we got the lamb and it did not take like anything, no seasoning, it was as if they just threw them on the grill, not worth the price, at all! the king crab rolls were just okay, you can get better sushi somewhere else. The scallops were good and the bluefin tataki. the king crab udon was definitely not worth it, the broth was not tasty and we got two little pieces of crab meat. what we did love was the short rib yakimeshi. We also decided to try their light and crisp sake, the connoisseur, I really enjoyed it, not everyone did, however.

Parking can be hard to find if you are driving to the city like we did, so give yourself enough time. They only give a 15 min grace period and then they give up your reservation.

Overall I would only recommend this place for drinks and appetizers.

This is a place to be seen, definitely people having professional pictures for their Instagram. They do this because the vibe is cool and it's prestigious inasmuch as it is expensive.

The food is average. I focused on sashimi and rolls and a special cerviche. The quality of the fish is good but nothing extraordinary. The prices are eye watering: $16 per piece of uni sashimi. The servers don't know all the Japanese/English translations which is not really acceptable. A couple of orders came out wrong and were graciously comped and replaced. The rice of the rolls was stodgy, overcooked and really needs to he better when you are paying $36 for a roll.

Probably a good spot for bankers, influencers and other scene lovers. Not such a good bet for true lovers of Japanese cuisine.

Vibes are nice, Food is very ok, service is terrible. Half our party arrived on time for our reservation; the restaurant wasn’t crowded but they wouldn’t seat us to order apps until everyone was there. We were seated and it took 15 minutes until we finally flagged down someone to ask if we had a waiter. That person took our drink orders and we asked for waters. Another 15 minutes and we still didn’t have water or wine. 30 minutes after being seated all but one wine came over, still no water. We kept having to flag down our waiter to get water and drink refills; when a glass of wine is $30 you’d expect them to want to get those out quickly. Food was fine but nothing special- and some of the sauces that accompanied the rolls (esp the king crab roll) had so much flavorless oil floating on top that they ruined the rolls. When the checks came out they overcharged someone in our party by $70!

Sushi Experience №186

It’s safe to say that this is the best Japanese Fusion Restaurant.

I came with a party of 6 for my sisters birthday. Our server Anthony did an extraordinary job in making us comfortable & making our experience fun. We love that.

Every dish ( lobster , steak, sushi , creamy udon, salmon Temaki & spicy tuna tacos) & cocktails were amazing. Shout out to the bartender for working his magic.

The vibe, music and decor are top notch. It’s definitely a 10/10 experience.
I will be returning for an event soon.

For the price you could eat at an actual restaurant, would avoid.

Quick breakdown:
- Food is oversalted or flavors do not compliment eachother, yet the price is similar to high end Japanese restauraunts in NYC
- Service is very hit or miss, 3/4ths of our servers were very bad- should not be paying this much for such service
- TAO restaurant group is generally bad
- Decor is great but if that is your focus, better could be found for cheaper/more convenient

Came here for a friends birthday and left out of there in absolute W😍W!! The drinks, the food, the waiters & staff were all professional, kind & informative knowing it was our 1st time there. Our waiter Tosh was kind, professional, and always had a smile. The manager also stopped by our table to ask if everything is good & also made us feel very welcome. The “Fuxxin Rabbit” cocktail was my favorite which I ordered 3 & I also had the lamb(3) with the lobster in chilli oil & it didn’t disappoint!!!

Sushi Experience №192

Coming from Miami, I’ve frequented a fair share of high end/trendy restaurants with very similar interior design and asian fusion palettes. Never has the service been as uniquely off putting as it was here.

We made a dinner res with my sister and friend, and for a sunday night there were endless time slots available… which was curious… but I now understand why. As we really enjoyed tao before, we were still looking forward to trying this newer spot out.

The restaurant the whole night through was fairly vacant and our waiter did not help to make the experience at all enjoyable. He must’ve been on one drug or other. Kept leaning over us, telling us to ‘get at it’ when it came to a piece of sushi, making overall weird inappropriate comments and trying to get us to buy drinks even though we didn’t want to.

When management came up to ask us how everything was going we informed him of the discomfort our waiter was causing and of his unprofessionalism (which for a high end place should come without exception). Management simply replaced him with someone else. At that point it did not matter much considering we were practically done with dinner. No complimentary dessert was offered or anything removed off the bill.

As for the food it was just okay. Not gross but definitely way too basic and small portioned for such large price tags. The vibe is also bad; crowd as jaded as it gets. If you care about going somewhere that doesn’t leave you with some complex sense of dejection, take your money somewhere else.

I'd give this restaurant 4 stars, but we were there for a bachelorette and the waitress said twice that she was gonna get a shot on the house for the bachelorette herself and then she charged us 20$ for it? We didn't even want the shot and then she up-charged us. Not impressed.

On the other hand, the food was great. The sushi (while expensive) was FANTASTIC. Every single roll was filled with flavor. We had a few appetizers as well and they were all a hit.
