Fushimi Williamsburg

I recently dined at this restaurant, and while it had its moments, I left feeling a bit underwhelmed. We ordered two entrees, two appetizers, two desserts, and two cocktails for $150. While the food was decent, I couldn’t help but feel that the prices were a bit steep for what we received. They also charge $8 for bottled water, which felt excessive, especially considering the already high price of the meal. The tip was included, but the service still felt a little off.

The biggest downside was the service. The staff seemed overly eager to clear our table, almost to the point of rushing us. Every time we took a bite, it felt like someone was standing by, waiting to take our plates away. We hadn’t even been there an hour when this started, which made for an uncomfortable dining experience. The staff was attentive, but it came across as more of a pressure to move us along rather than a desire to make us feel comfortable and enjoy our meal.

On a positive note, the drinks were fantastic, and the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. It’s definitely a place that prioritizes aesthetic, but unfortunately, the overall experience didn’t quite live up to the hype or the price tag.

The management team and the servers always provide outstanding service. You never feel unwelcome here, in fact it's like going a family house for dinner in many ways. I feel they go out of their way to make you feel at home, and their food is consistently good and fresh. The ambiance is subdued with nice music playing overhead and it's a great place to bring a date or have a group dinner. Yesterday I saw a group of maybe 30 people come in without reservations and although it took a few mins, they were able to set them all together towards the front of the dining area!!! That was a feat! Their menu is quite big and they also have sushi chefs preparing the fresh sushi. All their sushi taste high grade without any imperfections. They also have great bartenders that make excellent drinks. I would definitely come in during happy hour. You will not regret it. We were a nice group of people and everyone enjoyed the food, service and amenities Fushimi. They are professionals!!

The food was delicious, the tuna was fresh, the rice was greatly seasoned, and the potatoes with red wine sauce were some of the best potatoes I’ve ever had. And because it was my birthday I got free ice cream. Would totally go back again.

I don’t even know where to begin! I absolutely love this restaurant, every detail and thing about it. The food is seriously an 11/10. I wish they had this restaurant in San Francisco! Highly recommend getting a Lychee Martini, one of the best ones I’ve had in NYC thus far. I wish I could’ve tried the whole menu because it’s seriously that good but these were some of my favorite dishes (see the photos). Peep the bathroom, just the coolest spot ever with great music too!

First time here and it won’t be my last time. I came to celebrate a friends birthday and it was an amazing time. We had a hostess named Elaine who was very cordial and attentive to our needs/orders. She was very engaging, and suggested some very good drinks along with food options.

The food was amazing. We got the shrimp fried rice, dragon and mummy rolls, fried duck and other items. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed the food. Drinks were amazing, we had 3 rounds each topped with birthday green tea shots from Elaine for our friends.

Atmosphere was amazing, and intimate. The music was not too loud so we were able to converse and enjoy each others company. I had an amazing time and will definitely be back.

Starter- We ordered the calamari and came out in 2 minutes which was good because we were hungry. However tasted as if they had fried in old oil.

Rainbow Roll: Wasn’t bad but there was a lot of avocado which overpowered it all. Not super fresh and just very average.

My boyfriend ordered about 6 items (pictured). The sushi was warm which was unfortunate. The fish isn’t super fresh and taste of cheap takeout sushi. Very average maybe even below. Not authentic at all.

Atmosphere: Almost like a club. Couldn’t talk or hear my boyfriend at all. Alittle distasteful. Wouldn’t recommend for a date. Service was fine , nothing bad or great because i don’t think they could hear us.

Overall, abit disappointed since we live up the street and won’t be returning.

I went with friends for my bday Feb 3. We had happy hour at the bar then dinner. Took lots of fun pictures...Yuan was our server. He's so attentive and on point.. he was great. I enjoyed the cocktails and food. The short rib was excellent!!!! The crabcake was yummy. Fried rice with shrimp and chicken!!! My friends had a variety of Sushi. They brought out a chocolate lava cake and ice cream for me. I really enjoyed every bit of my birthday dinner. Will surely be back. Thank you

Hold your plates tight, they will always try to get it away 😂
If you’re coming close to their closing they will try to get you out of the restaurant asap.

Other than that I loved every single thing about Fushimi. Great location in Williamsburg, modern “spacy” design, diverse options for seating (big square tables, round tables, booths, etc). Kind and gentle staff, they definitely know every detail about the food - so don’t be shy and ask, they know all answers! Very patient waiters, friendly hostess.
The food is awesome, I love Asian food and this spot in Williamsburg is definitely my go to if I’m in a mood for some boogie fancy and interesting Asian fusion. They have many options: fish, meat, salads, sushi, desserts. Cocktail menu is diverse as well.

Serena at the front desk was absolutely amazing. After having dinner we decided to book my 40th birthday party in their private room called "Momo". Honestly, Serena was 50% the reason why we booked. Someone please give her a raise. It is well deserved. She had great energy and her courteousness was above and beyond. She answered all my questions, took her time to explain all the details, and made me feel super welcome. Our dinner was great as well and staff was great. See you guys again in February. Nice place with interesting design, BUT the music is like at a disco. I would like something nicer and a little quieter, it was difficult to talk. Service is good, BUT my friend had a birthday, and she was not congratulated on her birthday, although we warned. It was sad to see how they congratulated the guy at the next table with a piece of cake with a candle, and forgot about us. Otherwise, everything was fine, the food was delicious.

Extremely overrated.
Watch out for little items added on to your bill as well.
One of the only restaurants left charging for a refill of soda which is served in a small glass with way too much ice. You'll spend $10 a person in soda alone.
Also if you're taking your food to go, they charge you for any baby cup of sauce you ask for. ($2.50) a piece
The visual is nice but this place is nothing but a club with around the way overpriced food & hood sushi.
I did question the manager and this man told me that's how "fancy restaurants" do it. "Google it"

The food was amazing, some of the best sushi I ever tasted. The food was seasoned well and the service was wonderful. The music was a bit overwhelming as it was a very loud club mix. But the staff was very nice, we came in when the kitchen was 30 minutes from closing and we still had a great experience!

I’m not sure about eat-in, but their take out is horrible. I ordered all cooked rolls and they all came cold and hard as if the shrimp tempura had been made in this morning and left in the fridge the whole day. The gyoza I couldn’t even eat it. Hard and with a bitter burnt taste. The worse gyoza I’ve ever had. $55 down the drain. (I’ve ordered here before and the eel roll was decent. But this was the last time)

I attended a birthday celebration years ago here. Returning now for a another group outing. I do appreciate the sleek and modern atmosphere here. Definitely a festive, almost club-like vibe. The irony was that I came here for a learning session. The private room in the back was very spacious and still attractive.

Service was honestly top notch. We had one waiter serving our big group. He was very attentive, prompt and did not miss one person's order.

We had a choice of soup/salad, appetizer and entrée. I thoroughly enjoyed the seafood bisque made up of scallop, shrimp, lobster and crab meat. It had a great thickness. We also liked the roasted goat beet salad.
My favorite part of the menu were the appetizers. We had the black garlic salmon sashimi and the salmon tapas which both came out wonderful. I was favoring more the sashimi. For entrées, i had the lobster medallion shrimp. It arrived with sweet corn, fingerling potatoes and sugar snap peas. Lastly, my husband had the sushi Omakase. The rolls were buttery but i felt they were pretty bland and lacking in taste. The sashimi pieces were good.

Overall, I enjoyed myself and would return back again to try more items.

We frequent this location, the food is always wonderful and the staff and service is above and beyond. To our surprise we walked in for friday night dinner and DJ Lenny M was playing. The music was truly amazing and made me want to dance all night long. The addition of a DJ on the weekends is a great add to the already amazing place. Thank you DJ Lenny M for such a fun night of great music!!!

I was here a few weeks ago for dinner and to see DJ Lenny M. The food was phenomenal and the ambience was perfect! What can I say about the music? DJ Lenny M always knows what to play to get people dancing and the vibe was amazing. Even the bartenders were feeling the music and dancing along. So overall, we had the best time!!

Recently went to Fushimi Williamsburg for the first time, and have I been missing out! Brooklyn born and raised, I often find myself at the same spots, but between the music, the aesthetic, the food (yummyyy times a million) and service; I am adding this to my night life repertoire! I’ve been longing to find a place where I can dance and enjoy a nice meal to great music, and wow, did this evening fit the bill! My 90s soul was legit revitalized by DJ Lenny M and the service was just superlative. Everyone was friendly, kind and just wanted all guests to have a great time. Bravo, Fushimi, bravo!!

My husband and I love going here whenever we can even though it’s an hour away from us. The food is incredible as usual! But this past time we went on Sunday for Father’s Day. We had a server, not gonna lie I think I’m spelling his name wrong but Yeun (I think) was such a sweetheart! Super kind, attentive, and accommodating throughout our service. We’ve had good servers in the past but he was exceptional! Thank you for making our night amazing! Looking forward to going back!

Went to have dinner at Fushimi yesterday I was looking forward to trying the sushi based on reviews. The appetizer was amazing and dessert was phenomenal (molten lava cake with red velvet ice cream) however sadly the sushi was just average and not fresh. Would go back for the dessert!
Service however was excellent and food was at our table within minutes.

I went with 16 family members we sat at bar before being seated it was happy hour so our table was ready and the manager did not allow us to take our drinks to the table because it was a happy hour drink at a discounted price unbelievable at the table people was not drinking alcohol so we went to bat again to purchase a drink and again was not allowed to take drink to table never will return the food was very good but it's a very greedy establishment service also good but not allowing us to take a drink to table that's a first plus it as a 2 dollar discounted drink lol 😀 👎

It’s been a while for me eating at this location and my server, Wen made me feel like I never left. She’s very attentive and patient. I was craving this rice dish but forgot its name and she automatically knew it’s the Mushroom Rissoto. She’s an asset to the team. Will be back! She has a great smile and very understanding and very patient. I’ve been to Restaurant in different part of the world but she make me feel like I was visiting someone’s house. It didn’t feel like I was in a restaurant. If I had my own restaurant, this would be one person they’d be working in my restaurant not as a server, but it’s a manager we need more quality people like that. I took my time eating what I order I just wanna enjoy every moment of it. Of my food I think her made the taste, much much better, and that’s important.for me
I don’t know what is her schedule but it’d be nice if you want the same experience I had you could call the restaurant and ask what days is she works that would be my advice I hope that the person in charge of the owner realize what they have they value her service and give a better position if she wants you guys be the judge of that when you get there, but I guarantee satisfaction bon appétit

I went to this Fushimi for the second time today with my friend for dinner. I had a great experience, starting with the courtesy of Mr. Eryc, the manager, and excellent customer service from the waiter, Kevin; he was polite and attentive to my friend and me. This Fushimi has a tremendous and diverse menu of sushi platters. I loved my food and drink a lot. You must try the Fushimi fried rice, it's delectable. I am happy that I visited again. Thank you, Mr. Eryc and Kevin, for welcoming my friend and me. I will visit again, and I recommend visiting that place, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion or a date. The bathroom is also super clean and beautiful. Overall, great vibes and I like the place. 💯

I thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience at this restaurant. The food was exceptional, particularly the fresh oysters, flavorful pineapple fried rice, and delicious sushi. However, there were some areas for improvement. The service felt rushed, with mains arriving while we were still enjoying our appetizers. Additionally, the drinks were unbalanced and could have been better. Despite these shortcomings, I would still recommend this restaurant for its decent service, good food and great ambiance.

Beautiful atmosphere to set the tone for a great high quality meal! I had the Fire and Ice Special roll, and it was very good! I also had a tuna hand roll and it was easy to tell the tuna was very fresh. I also recommend getting dessert. The lava cake and stick rice pudding was very good.

Fushimi never disappoints. The food and drinks are fresh, delicious and beautifully prepared. The only thing that outshines it is the service. From the hostess, to the bartender to the management & servers - all impeccable! Their attention to detailed, their friendliness and prompt service is a huge acknowledgement to management. Bravo! I love great service!

Coming from a customer who’s been to this place for at least 3 years it’s a shame to see how the place has declined. My first time visiting the restaurant was pleasant, the food was good, the atmosphere was nice, and the service wasn’t bad. As each year goes by this experience becomes increasingly worse. My most recent experience with the place was three days ago. It’s unfortunate to point this out but I’ve seen the difference in service between white customers and those of color. This was a fact that I used to ignore but my recent experience was the final experience I’ll have with this restaurant entirely. I’ve always noticed the side looks from waiters but more surprising the dirty looks from the head of the restaurant (a middle aged Japanese man always well dressed in a suit with a silver bald fade as well as what I assume to be both store managers, one with a short cut always at the host station and the other with longer dark hair). As a brown customer it was a painful experience sitting at the bar with a new person introducing them to the restaurant and feeling uncomfortable at the bar for simply engaging in conversation. Uncomfortable to the point where the manager came over to argue with the bartender while pointing at us and then they proceeded to turn up the music as we were sitting. I would understand this situation had we been talking in an obnoxious manner but to see that we were talking in a reasonable tone (something I think shouldn’t even be mentioned or worried given the restaurant’s desired aura) it was the unfortunately my last time at this restaurant. It’s been a long time but I’d rather pay $150 to $200 per person for drinks and food combined at a subpar restaurant where I don’t feel uncomfortable walking into simply because of what I can only assume at this point is the color of my skin. Maybe consider appealing less to people of color if you have a preference for less melanated skin tones.

First time here and it won’t be my last time. I came to celebrate a friends birthday and it was an amazing time. We had a hostess named Elaine who was very cordial and attentive to our needs/orders. She was very engaging, and suggested some very good drinks along with food options.

The food was amazing. We got the shrimp fried rice, dragon and mummy rolls, fried duck and other items. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed the food. Drinks were amazing, we had 3 rounds each topped with birthday green tea shots from Elaine for our friends.

Atmosphere was amazing, and intimate. The music was not too loud so we were able to converse and enjoy each others company. I had an amazing time and will definitely be back.

I went with friends for my bday Feb 3. We had happy hour at the bar then dinner. Took lots of fun pictures...Yuan was our server. He's so attentive and on point.. he was great. I enjoyed the cocktails and food. The short rib was excellent!!!! The crabcake was yummy. Fried rice with shrimp and chicken!!! My friends had a variety of Sushi. They brought out a chocolate lava cake and ice cream for me. I really enjoyed every bit of my birthday dinner. Will surely be back. Thank you

Perfect. Great experience. Very tasteful. Very friendly staff. Was with my 2-year-old daughter. Kid is kid. She tried to walk everywhere... Staff was friendly and helped me... only one negative notice - no changing table.

We celebrated my daughter’s Sweet 16 birthday here on Saturday, 1/13/24. The setting was beautiful. My daughter and her guests had fun. However, the overall experience wasn’t exactly pleasant.

When I made the initial reservation for her birthday dinner, which included my daughter and 10 guests, I added a drink package that just included water, juice, and soda. We discussed the alcohol package for the adults and was advised by the manager at the time that I would be able to upgrade/add the other drink package which would have alcohol included, on the day of.

When we arrived for dinner, the manager that assisted with the reservation was not there. I was told to speak to Eric, the owner/manager. I told him that we decided that we wanted to upgrade the drink package. He advised me that I could no longer make changes as the 48 hours had passed. Therefore, I would have to open a new tab - despite being told something else prior.

Not wanting to be difficult,my husband, my sister and I went to the bar and purchased drinks from the happy hour menu. Eric’s ego caused him to missed out on the $44 x 10 (amt of guests). That was his decision. We moved on and tried to make the best of the night as it was my daughter‘s birthday celebration. There was a weird staring contest with Eric, where he just stared at my husband, my sister and I.

As the evening progressed, it was time for us to sing happy birthday. I gathered the adults that were seated at the bar and everyone gathered at the table. While we were singing happy birthday, the bartender that waited on us at the bar came barging through the gathering at the table and in the midst of us singing happy birthday she proceeded to wave the bill from the bar in my husband’s face stating that he didn’t pay the bill! Apparently, she closed his tab for him.

Her boss (Eric) told her to follow us to ensure that we didn’t skip out on our tab. Even though we obviously had a dinner tab that ultimately had to be paid as well. Did they really think we were trying to skip out on our bar tab??? Really?

I’m not sure where they thought we were going especially when we went further inside the restaurant, and not towards the exit. It was the most the most inappropriate thing to do.

They didn’t see us as patrons for some reason they treated us like some kind of a threat. We could have received that kind of treatment from any two or three star restaurant. To me, the experience wasn’t worth it. I still appreciate the fact that my daughter enjoyed making memories with her friends but I prefer to spend my money elsewhere.

Their waitress ruined my birthday dinner. She had an attitude the entire time she served us. She didn't ask us how our food was when it arrived. I didn't even trust them to cut my cake after dinner because I was afraid they would do something to it. We were a large table and gratuity is automatically added. That's probably why she felt so comfortable treating us terribly. I've gone on and off for 10 years, but never again.

At the end of our meal, we realized that there were a ton of brown moldy/dirty particles in all of our waters that we'd been drinking the whole night. The manager came and wouldn't refund anything and only offered a $30 gift certificate (our meal was $57). In the end after a lot of uncomfortable discussion, he offered us a $50 gift certificate, but we don't feel comfortable eating there again after how dirty it was. It's crazy that he wouldn't refund the $57 bill but gave us a $50 gift certificate, which shows us how money hungry he is and how little they care about customers.

Fushimi has been on my bucket list since they opened up their Time Square location. We were attracted by the brilliant decor with authentic Japanese scene.

However, we passed by their Williamsburg location and decided to give their lunch set with reasonable price a try. The decor at their Williamsburg location is also brilliant with romantic ambiance.

I had their Lunch Set with Chirashi Box selection. It came with soup, salad and appetizer which the portion was amazingly great with reasonable price of $24. My roommate who is 100% a meat lover tried their 35 Day Dry-aged Prime NY Strip Steak. It was impressively delicious with soft texture and great flavor.
