This contemporary restaurant & lounge bar dishes up a range of Japanese fusion–style meals.
Don't let the exterior fool you. the outside sign is unevenly lit and the business is currently attached to a construction zone, the food here is decent for the area. Upon entering, the first thing you'll notice is their large Christmas tree, accompanied by a sign warning patrons that if their child is taller than a certain height, they will be charged full price.
The restaurant has about 25 tables and a spacious layout, with a beautiful sushi bar where food is prepared fresh. We visited on a Friday evening for the all you can eat dinner. When we arrived, there were only a couple of occupied tables, and some diners were preparing to leave. Within minutes of us sitting down, the restaurant filled up quickly and became quite loud.
I noticed there were four chefs working at the sushi bar, but only two female servers managing the dining area. They seemed overwhelmed, likely due to being short staffed that evening? While the servers were quick on their feet, requesting additional items became a bit of a challenge, as we often had to ask multiple times for sauces or other items.
Adding to the noise from the crowded restaurant, there was a loud, repetitive beeping sound that occurred every 3-5 minutes. We couldn't figure out if it was online order notifications or an alert for food ready to be served. Whatever the reason, it was quite distracting, and no one seemed to acknowledge or silence it.
The food was served at a good pace after we ordered. The soups came out first and were enjoyable. Next, we tried a variety of appetizers, including calamari, shrimp shumai, and teriyaki chicken. Everything was good, there was no "wow" factor. We also tried sashimi, hand rolls, and tobiko, which were fresh and decent for the area.
Overall, the food quality was solid, but the experience had its drawbacks. For an all you can eat dinner (limited to 2 hours), the price is $32 per person, which doesn't include drinks like soda or iced tea. Considering the location, it feels a bit pricey. They also offer some sweet treats, such as ice creams and fried Oreos.
One thing i would definitely recommend if them having more servers, and find a way to control the noise.

I love their all you can say deals. Amazing is not a word that can describe it and such a great value of money. When I heard that it was $25 per person I was worried that Sushi may not be good but it was totally the apposite. It was delicious and at the end I couldn’t say another but it was so much and it wasn’t like an other buffet where you eat what they have, here you order what you want and they keep on giving you. Wow...

I believe it was the seaweed salad and Kani salad that we got. I didn't like them much. They had literally no flavor. Beautiful presentation but I wouldn't suggest them.
The fish overall was very fresh and nicely cut and I found all the rolls and sushi pieces nicely done but NOTHING special, nothing remarkable. Meh!
The staff was not the friendliest either. We all noticed that.
I guess it is ok for "all you can eat" and the pricepoint but nothing special.

Much better this time than the previous most recent experience, but with a few bad menu items (the sexy roll doesn't taste as good as it used to, and the beef rib just tastes like chicken fried steak in the grossest way...) My only regret was not ordering more salmon sashimi.

DO NOT let the outside of this place fool you!!!! It may be in a dingy strip mall, but I couldn't recommend more that you go inside for their AYCE sushi. It was $26.95 per person, their drinks were strong and fairly priced, but what impressed me most was the quality of the fish.
I've been to both high and low end sushi restaurants, and I think this is some of the FRESHEST salmon I've ever had!!! They really had such great quality fish. The place was clean, service was attentive (but not overbearing) and the food was really delicious.
I'm so incredibly impressed with the quality of their salmon. I couldn't recommend this place more!! My first time going was two days ago, and I'm already looking forward to coming back here.

Update (07/24/2023):
Question the outside look of the strip mall, but don't be afraid to enter and then indulge in the delicious food served in this sushi restaurant. The AYCE is the best way to enjoy it.
Food is still exceptional. Great service and friendly staff. Price is still a great value and comparable to the other AYCE sushi nearby, but I'd say the sashimi/sushi here tastes better than others. The hot dishes like the Teriyaki salmon, soups, and tempuras were also very delicious. The fried Oreo dessert is delicious and not overly battered or greasy. The green tea ice cream tastes like actual ice cream with high quality green tea.

Several times I have driven through this vicinity, without knowing of this all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant. Enter the small parking lot just off of the busy street, driving upon this small old strip mall, then enter through the door, and be surprised by the huge and open modern industrial decor inside. Dining during a weekday lunch, the place was not busy with many diners, but orders were being picked up to go. Also, COVID is still causing some people to not venture to places. Greeted upon entry and directed towards our seats by the staff. Gave in our order with various selections. Food was served quickly, but were missing a couple items. Kindly told the waitress and she immediately rectified the situation. Sashimi, sushi rolls, appetizers, salads, and numerous soups that we tried were very delicious. The dessert fried Oreo cookie was very good too, not greasy or over-battered. Price is comparable to other AYCE sushi restaurants, but I think the overall quality was better than the others. Will definitely dine here again.

The best AYCE on the island!!!! Can’t stress that enough. Food is always so fresh, service is great. I come here probably once a month to satisfy my seafood cravings and I always welcomed by the staff. I have tried other AYCE places and they absolutely do not compare to this place. From the outside the place looks ehh but once you get in it’s a 10/10 overall. You never feel rushed to get out, no matter how busy it gets. Recommend it to anyone who loves fresh sushi and good service!!!!

My husband and I came on a Thursday night.
Do not judge a book by its cover! I thought my husband made a wrong turn when we pulled into the parking lot where all businesses looked abandoned. If the owner is reading this, I suggest you open the curtains to let others see how busy your restaurant is because the restaurant looks very sad and questionable from the outside.
For AYCE sushi, the food was good. We enjoyed the rock shrimp, salmon sushi, squid sashimi, ikura sushi, soumo roll, yellowtail sushi, eel sushi, and fluke sushi.
The service wasn't bad and I have no complaints, but there's room for improvement.
We would come back again.

Service was terrible extremely slow no personality. We had to ask for our drinks and side sauces multiple times. Food was delicious. Ordered a drink took over 20 minutes asked for container to bring sauce home never got it. Asked 2 more times 3rd time asked sushi chef so we can leave. We filled out paper for our order and took over 30 minutes for them to take it. Food great service Terrible. Bathroom was a mess too.

I ordered from here on Uber eats. The delivery time was 30-50 minutes. After waiting an hour I called the restaurant. The person I spoke with told me the driver had just left and would drop off my food shortly. After waiting another 30 minutes I get a notification that the restaurant cancelled my order. Lying to customers is unacceptable.

If I could give the service 0 stars I would. All you can eat menu- they don’t actually bring out everything you check off. Brought kids with me and me and my SIL wanted more of the kitchen things for them and I practically had to beg to bring out the hibachi rice for my one year old. It wasn’t until an hour in and 4 times asking, did my husband ask more aggressively and they brought it out within a minute after that. Unacceptable. Terrible service and let alone they include 18% tip. If it was up to me I would have left 0% and I HAVE NEVER LEFT ANYONE 0%. I will not be returning.
The audacity for them wanted to charge me to bring the rice home that they brought out at the end of the meal after my one year old was already cranky and done. Unacceptable not a place for parents who want to feed their kids while they are eating, they never checked on us once, never refilled waters, asked for spicy mayo- did not bring.
Will never come here.

One of my favorite places! The service can be a bit slow but the workers do the best they can with the mealtime rushes. I always get miso soup, edamame, vegetarian sushi, fried oreos, and the green tea ice cream. Mushroom soup was okay but seems they dropped raw slices of mushrooms onto hot broth which wasn't the best texture. My boyfriend had the pork katsu which had variable quality during one seating but overall was still good. Sushi was worth the wait. I will continue to return here.

my father is a major sushi connoisseur lol he loves trying new sushi places and when he decided to try this place that's fairly close to our home… We had ordered here, and the food was OK, it's just like any other sushi place, the prices are pretty much the same as every other sushi place, but my father actually decided to order from here a couple of times because it is one of the closer ones to our house. In any case last week, I had gone to go pick up his sushi as directed like always, and he did tell me he put it under my name and it's already paid for. So when I walked in, I told them that I was there for pick up, gave them my info and they handed me the bag. As I was about to walk out a voice from behind the actual sushi makers (so across the restaurant itself) screamed "you have to pay!" I said "i'm sorry I thought that my parents had told me that this was already paid for." And she replied no no payment yet so I had decided to call my parents to find out if that was the case. When I called both my parents had me on speaker and they both said yes we paid for it already. I relayed the message to the screaming voice and she came forward and said "no no payment yet" so I said OK well they're telling me they did so she ran a credit card report and it looked like she did not put in the information for payment. So my father then proceeded to say, I even gave you my credit card number, expiration date and CVV and you told us you were going to give us 10% off because I gave you all that information. She proceeded to argue with us, saying that she never got a credit card number from anybody and at the same time. Both my parents were telling her then why would we read the card off to you if you weren't going to process it. I proceeded to tell her that I have their card on my Apple Pay. It would've been easier for me to Apple Pay it instead of going through all of this and she said they never gave me their credit card number. I'm not calling anybody a liar but I really am because why would they tell me that they gave you each number one by one with the expiration date and then even mentioned a 10% off if they didn't and I know my parents if they were unsure they would say wait maybe I didn't but they were very confident and in fact when I got home my father's credit card was out, right next to him like he never put it back in his wallet after reading the numbers to her. It would've been simple if they didn't pay and I could've just paid with their card from my phone but there's no reason for them to lie. And the fact that this woman caused the scene in front of other customers, yelling and screaming, and pretty much implying that my parents are liars in fact, I think she said that it's a lie blatantly said that, I just got rubbed the wrong way because I come from a business frame of mind where the customer is always right and if they're not, you just try to resolve the issue and make it right without causing a scene and calling them for lack of better words "liars". Needless to say, I will not be returning back to this place only because it's not an actual sushi place that their food is outstanding or unique in anyway, and just the fact that she caused the scene and an embarrassed me and embarrassed my parents and she was just so hard-core about it I just don't wanna take a chance with ordering food again and then remembering the situation lol so I would say if you're looking for a place that has mediocre sushi, a nice size restaurant, though I've never seen anybody in there, and rude and obnoxious workers then this would be the place for you. That was complete sarcasm if anybody didn't pick up on that lol so now I wouldn't recommend this place at all just because of the customer service that was shown to us last week.

Former sushi chef chiming in. Few sushi AYCE restaurants serve sashimi, this place does. Good experiences everytime I dine here. Fish is always fresh and my kids love their udon.

The food was mid. And the service is unacceptable. We placed an order and we never received until after the 4th time we told them our order. I already had an issue with their service because they chased me down stating “tip is not included” in front of the whole restaurant. Now today, i already had in mind not to tip them BECAUSE THEY DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR ME, I DIDNT RECEIVE MY FULL ORDER AFTER I RECEIVED THE BILL??!!! So i told her “do i have to tip” she proceeded to say “yes, we work for tip”. This was absolutely ridiculous. NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE BEYOND DISGUSTING SERVICE.

I have been here a few times, and every time I am impressed. Makes me question why I ever try other places. Watawa is constantly fresh and clean. Be ready to have a DRY version of hibachi takeout. I ordered a TON of food and we didn’t get any YumYum sauce. The woman on the phone asked if we wanted to come back and get some. Whyyyyy would I want to go back for sauce that they don’t include (unless you ask for it). If I wanted to keep leaving the house I wouldn’t have gotten takeout. Weird that sauces aren’t included. There’s no spicy mayo either. Disappointed.

Ultimately a very lack-luster experience, to say the least. This restaurant is certainly overhyped by the amount of praise that it gets.
Food: wasn’t absolutely atrocious, but I’ve certainly had much better Japanese food for the fraction of the price. The options were limited with little variety. Many of the sushi rolls were really just variations of the same food, with slightly irrelevant changes. The portions were underwhelming as well, each “main dish” being served with kids-sized amounts of food.
Service: the staff were polite, but that’s the most I can say about that. It’s takes an abnormally long time for the food to come out, if it comes out at all. We came in on a slow night, with maybe 1-2 other tables being occupied. Yet we found ourselves waiting arduously for food to come, and in certain cases the food would never come, and we’d be met with the excuse “the chef lost our orders”
Atmosphere: the first red flag was approaching the restaurant. No lights, cars, or people. The surroundings were run down and the rain did not help. The inside was mediocre, nothing to write home about. However I will say that my table was sticky
Visited a year ago
$29.95 AYCE is overpriced! Only a portion of the food from menu you can order from, and they are all cheap food. And you never a full portion of meal order. The serving size is only 20% of a regular meal. The service was horrible, took 40 minutes just for dessert!

Ok guys!!! I lived in Japan for 3 years, currently living in California, but came to visit NY. I have traveled many asian countries and this is as authentic as it gets.
The food is amazing! The presentation of the food feels as if you are in an expensive place.
Actually, we got the All You Can Eat, for less than $28. You can't beat that cost for all you can eat.....
Fyi , salmon salad is too salty for my liking, but I loved the other salads. The ribs were too fatty for me, but the other kitchen meals were amazing.

If I can give 0 stars I would.
I am writing to give you feedback on my delivery experience. I ordered food with my sisters today from your restaurant and were excited to receive our favorite dishes. However, we had an extremely unpleasant encounter with the delivery driver, an employee from the restaurant.
After waiting for the delivery, I went outside to receive the food. The driver was already upset and visibly angry. He refused to give me our food because the receipt stated no tip. I explained to him that we would tip him through the app as we had no cash with us. Instead of listening to me, he threw the receipt at me and continued to yell at me accusing us of not tipping.
I found this experience to be unacceptable and distressing, as we feared that the driver would return to attack us. It was a bad experience for us, which made us uncomfortable and ruined our dining experience.
I hope that you take this feedback seriously and take appropriate actions to ensure that this does not happen in the future. It would be great if you could ensure that your delivery drivers are more professional and behave in a manner that is respectful to your customers.

surprisingly tasty & fresh sushi/sashimi. the quality is better than some other AYCE sushi places around queens & the price is definitely WAY better than the ones in queens. The rice to fish ratio is 2:1 but it was still good nonetheless (sushi rice itself was pretty good). Great place to eat with a group of friends & ample parking right in front or back.

My friend and I goto the movies once every 2 months or so and we always eat prior. Since finding Watawa, we've enjoyed 2 meals for $60 plus tip, which is well worth it. Also, the waitresses are attentive and get the job done very well. I'd like to thank all of the workers at Watawa and look forward to my friend asking me to go see another movie so we can enjoy your food again soon!

It was my 4th visit and I came with my family today. I waited more than 30 minutes after I gave my order to one of the servers. I realized other customers who came later than I came were getting their dishes. I called the server to ask the status of my order. It turned out my order never went to the sushi bar. The server totally misplaced my order. The manager came and took a new order from me and just said one word, "sorry" without soul.
After 10 more minutes of waiting I got my dish. Guess what! It wasn't the same as my order. We all were hungry and tired, so we just ate anyway. I ordered ice creams after I finished the dish, it took another 10 minutes to serve them. Of course the server did not serve the ice cream as I ordered.
I kept trying to make an eye contact with the server who lost my order but she never even looked at me once. Maybe she was embarrassed that she lost the order but that wasn't professional. The professional way is to come to apologize first with an eye contact and to ask me what she can do to make up.
Awful experience. Never going there again.

For me, the service was not good. My brother's family ordered first and separately, their food came fast, however, for our portion, we waited almost an hour before our sushi and sashimi came, and even so, a few items were missing and we had to wait more for those food.
When we got there we were the only one there, being a Monday evening and 5:30pm. I didn't expect to wait that long for the sushi and sashimi to come.
My sister called ahead of time a few days earlier and was told 2 and under is free. My brother's 2 year old was charged as a kid and the waiter told us they go by height. He just turned two that week and he was charged $7.95. However, we were able have the waiter remove that charge.
Overall, not a good experience with service nor food quality.

Great food and good atmosphere

Good place. I'd say the same as Sushi Village. Food was good. Appetizers all were on one plate instead of each app on their own plate. Price is still good @ $30/person for the AYCE. One suggestion is that you should put the Salads on the Appetizer menu slip. Why is it on the Sushi slip?

Food was so delicious love the all you can eat for 30 dollars option. Also the decor and atmosphere is very soothing and calming. Staff are very sweet and helpful. They do not have utensils on the table but if you ask they will get you one. Overall a very great experience I would definitely go back 😊

Such great service and high quality food
you are able to try all pieces without having to order the whole entire roll
(btw the fried oreos are a great way to end your dinner)

If you are a vegetarian and love sweet potato rolls this is the place to get them. This place is your typical take the list and they'll bring the food out. But the quality is excellent and the fried Oreos for dessert taste delicious

This place is great. But that's no surprise to many, as the line was out the door for both table seating and take out.

I decided to try here one night because I heard good reviews from other people. The food is decent but the service is not great. I had a server spill sauce all over the table and never come back to clean it. Then at the end of the night my card was charged 3 times. THEN as I was leaving a waitress came chasing after me because apparently she wasn't satisfied with the tip and so being embarrassed in front of everyone I gave her an extra $5 even though I'm not even required to tip. All in all, if you eat here make sure you tip good or you will be hunted down to tip better.

Sushi was pretty good and the staff were attentive and kind. Very easy for someone to get the most out of their money, if they'll eat the food that they order.
Important note: some food is only ordered a piece at a time or a scoop at a time (such as the ice cream). Other selections can be ordered 5-8 pieces at a time. Drinks include free refills. Plan accordingly.

Never go to this place. They tell you the order is on the way. 2 hours later no food. Uber guys call and says he busy. Another 30 mins goes by and what do you know no one shows up. The restaurant call now and says do you want the food or not he’s been at your location. If I can give it zero stars I would. Would not recommend

My son wanted to go here for his birthday, I never knew it existed. He ate all you can eat sushi for an hour and a half at least. They won’t tell you that they don’t sing happy birthday, lol, but she brought him what he thought was fried ice cream and it had rainbow sprinkles. I had a Bento box with salmon and the fish dumplings and it came with a delicious salad and miso soup that I loved and my soda was very bubbly. My little one enjoyed two Japanese sodas, rice and broccoli and ate my onions but wouldn’t try anything else. The restroom was clean, the waitresses were very nice and attentive and it was comfortable- the chairs had indentations for your butt bones to go in which were nice as I do have a boney butt and sat there for a while. I’m glad I know this is here now, definitely recommend!

Was a little skeptical at first. But I become a patron after 1st try. I left my last AYCE sushi joint because the amount of rice they put, this place is total opposite!!! They dont try to stuff you by loading up with rice. The quality of sushi is consistent throughout since 1st round of ordering. Their choice of ice-cream are superb! Cant wait to go back.

This place would definitely be 5 stars if they get more staff. There's a wait when your eating to get attention from the waitress. But it's only because they need to hire more people. If they did I would give this place 5 stars.

This place is phenomenal, truly the best of it's kind around here. In our family, it's not really a celebration if we don't go to Watawa. The quality is always top notch. the only problem you will ever have is that you're sick from eating TOO MUCH. And even then you keep eating because let's face it, this is America and we simply can't stop. It's just too good.

DO NOT online order from this place, especially not through Uber eats. When we received our food, the beef was clearly old, and tasted very funky. On top of that, the menu on Uber eats said our meal would come with rice, and we didn't get any rice. So when I called to tell them about the rotted meat, I also included that they had forgotten the rice as well, and that I was unhappy with all of this. The woman on the phone told me there was nothing she could do, and that she wouldn't even refund the rotted beef. She also told me that what I ordered didn't come with rice, even though I had it right in front of me on my Uber app saying that the meal came with rice. DO NOT ONLINE ORDER!!!! Go in person so you can show them yourself if something is wrong because they will not believe you or be helpful at all through the phone.

Have eaten at this spot maybe 3 times a month for 10 years. New owners and place is going down hill. Food that we ordered we didn't get. Quality has gone down. Service is really bad 12 tables 2 servers. Had issue with sushi we ordered. Finally we're able to get waiter over. Asked him what sushi was in plate he dropped on table. Very rude and disrespectful. When it came time to pay bill waiter came back with attitude after he only got 10% tip because of his attitude and lack of doing his job. Asked why we so cheap and then cursed and walked away. Beware the place and ownership has changed. Your warned.

We learned our favorite sushi restaurant had closed, and my friend who has been here before recommended this place. Sushi was really good and at an equitable price for all you can eat. Definitely watch your eyes being bigger than your stomach here.
