Food 7/10
The AYCE (~$35) vibe really is great if you’re carbo-loading before a marathon, and that’s exactly what my boyfriend and I came here for him to do. Endless sushi heaven. The server questioned if we really wanted to get this much because we had to pay extra for what we didn’t finish, and I enthusiastically said yes to their skeptical facial expressions. It was quite funny. My boyfriend did indeed finish everything. I thought their salmon was quite high quality, but otherwise, all the other seafood was just fine. For the price and the AYCE aspect though, I would say this place is quite an experience. They had fun donut sushi, plenty of options for appetizers, and a good selection of fish. You can pick either sashimi slices or nigiri, and it really just doesn’t stop coming.
Atmosphere 7/10
Cute spot with Japanese decor, plenty of seating, and we walked right in without a wait.
Service 9/10
They were very attentive and friendly, kept on refilling our waters, which was a plus. Appreciate the service!

Menu has changed, recipes have change and staff has changed. Loved it when it was first open but now the quality has gone down. You order through an app now, which makes the ordering process longer and some of the fish have been fishy. Not worth traveling to, if you have one closer, go there. Updated photos added and labeled with date.

Tokyo Ya is a hiden gem. Best shushi, all you can eat place. everything was cooked to perfection. Price is the cheapest AYCE. The quality of fish is super fresh and just melts on your mouth. went twice with no disappointment. server was awesome, and food came right away. the electronic ordering is cool and awesome. first time ever giving a review to a place I really like and did not disappoint me at all. 10/10

Found restaurant online for sushi I live in Astoria. I got tricked thinking it's a legit Japanese sushi because had Japanese verbiage so didn't mind paying extra for quality. However Over-priced same sushi place as others. Should have known when they offer all you can eat. Didn't know that until I went to pick up my food

A great deal for all you can eat sushi! The food was delicious, the only thing is the rolls (which make up a good portion of the menu) are quite big so I’d recommend coming as a group! There’s a good amount of seating and walk in friendly. Selection is not the biggest but sufficient for what you pay. Loved the service and how friendly the staff were.

This was a fun time. I loved the sushi and the appetizers!
There's was a wait to be seated, but it wasn't that bad. Just be sure to write your name and the number of your party when you come in.
The sushi donuts were surprisingly good ,highly recommended the karage!

I went here yesterday 10/21 for lunch and the quality has significantly gone down. I regret giving it a good review previously. The fish is no longer fresh and there was food coloring on the tuna and salmon. They’re cutting corners and it hasn’t even been a full year yet
TLDR; run don’t walk
The quality of the seafood at Tokyo Ya was amazing, everything was delicious and thought out. Yuki and Linda as well as all of the staff were so wonderful. Objectively one of the best sushi places I’ve been to in a long time. Flavor and texture are amazing, real crab in soft-shell crab roll and real Maine lobster in lobster roll. Presentation beautiful, store ambiance peaceful, just overall amazing.

The food was very good. However, the cashier or waitress cut and filed her nails at the counter and did it near my table. I just stared at the sound of nail cutting. Because of this disgusting situation, I had to ask for the bill and leave before I finished my meal.

Make a normal menu with photo rolls, not this cheap horror written by hand. I want to see what the product you buy will look like, not the «pig in a poke».

Went here for the all you can eat option and was treated poorly. Food took a long time to arrive and items we ordered were removed from the order and never arrived. After food was delayed we were told our 90 minute time limit was up even though we were there for less than that and were told we can only order dessert from now on hinting we should stop ordering sushi. I don’t believe we over ordered but if we did and they did not like that they should not offer an all you can eat option. Not going back and too bad because we ate there before and it was nice. The sushi quality is decent service is terrible. Oh and last note we were there with our baby so maybe it took us too long to eat in their opinion.

The food likes nothing like the pictures. We got scammed $80. The flour was separating from the udon, tasted like leftover noodles. The seaweed looks very fake. I have never seen beef that white before…. Everything was disgusting. The ratings are overhyped, please do not waste your money on this place.

Tokyo Ya is hands down one of the best all you can eat restaurants I’ve ever tried. Despite the unlimited format, the quality of the food is exceptional. very good ayce japanese restaurant. the fish tastes very fresh. bonus points for having sashimi in the all you can eat which a lot of places don’t really do. i came for the lunch special which is very affordable considering how extensive the menu is. i love that you can order from an ipad. the service is prompt. i love that the portions are small so it’s less wasteful and you can order more variety without getting full as fast.

Had the pleasure of dining at Tokyo Ya last week, and overall, my experience was fantastic. Here’s a detailed review:
Food:
1. The food was outstanding. We started with Miso soup, and its flavor was intense, perfectly salty, piping hot, and absolutely addictive. The salmon was incredibly soft and buttery, and their tobiko selection was incredible. I couldn't stop ordering more, especially with their variety of black, red, and yuzu tobiko, each offering a unique flavor. The freshness of the tuna and other sashimis truly stands out compared to other all-you-can-eat (AYCE) places—clearly, they take pride in their quality.
2. The appetizers and sides were equally impressive, with a vast selection to choose from. The Kani salad was probably the best I've ever had, and the tempura was fresh, hot, and crispy. Unfortunately, their famous karaage was soggy and didn’t live up to expectations. Perhaps serving the sauce on the side would help preserve the chicken's crispiness, like with the tempura.
3. Every dish was presented beautifully, and I appreciated the plates they used.
4. A major highlight: NO TEMPURA in the rolls! Many AYCE places stuff their rolls with tempura to cut down on fish portions, but Tokyo Ya does not use this cheap tactic. This alone makes me eager to return and bring friends along.
5. The desserts were fantastic. I loved the Yuzu sorbet and the Alice in Wonderland dessert bowl with grass jelly. Simply wonderful.
Service:
1. Food delivery was quick, with minimal wait time, allowing us to fully enjoy the AYCE experience. The sequence of appetizers, sashimi, and rolls was perfect, unlike other places that serve rolls before appetizers.
2. The only downside was the service. When we sat down, our server didn’t greet us, introduce themselves, or offer drinks. It was a very pretty girl with glasses, but we would’ve appreciated at least a small smile or an explanation of how to scan the QR code to order. We waited without water for a while, assuming we had to fetch it ourselves from the hostess stand. Eventually, an older woman apologized, and our server came by, but with a noticeably sour attitude. Despite thanking her each time she brought a dish, she never responded or checked on us, and it wasn’t even busy.
3. This was not the restaurant’s fault entirely but we witnessed a party insist on being seated before the kitchen was due to close at 4 pm. The hostess appeared uncomfortable but ultimately gave in. Although they were warned about the kitchen closing soon, the guests seemed upset when the kitchen did indeed shut down for a break. Having worked in the service industry myself, I know how challenging it can be, but it’s important to be firmer with guests. This could avoid disappointment, as well as ensure that both the staff and customers have a smoother dining experience.
4. Another family in front of us was also sat close to 4pm and ordered several sushi tacos. It may not have been her intention but their server seemed to have an attitude while commenting on the quantity they ordered. Although it’s understandable to caution against ordering too much, the tone and verbiage were off, making the family visibly uncomfortable. A better approach would be to suggest a reasonable order size, gently reminding them about additional charges for leftover food, or seating them with enough time to order more after finishing the first round. Perhaps, a sign indicating the kitchen's closing time at the tables or menu, could help. The last seating for lunch should be firm at 3 pm to give guests ample time. Allowing guests to sit just before the kitchen closes is a practice that should be avoided.
This lack of customer service is the only thing holding me back from giving them five stars. I’m definitely planning to return and hope they address this, improving the overall service experience. If you are going to Tokyo Ya you are going to have a blast and the food will knock your socks off!

Super friendly and patient server with a decent variety of fresh foods. Desserts were delicious and I highly recommend The yuzu ice cream and the Alice In Wonderland. Overall, I will recommend this restaurant to anyone simply for the amazing staff and with the amazing food that come with it, the only down side that I will point out is that this is a small restaurant, so I do recommend to make a reservation before coming.

Goods service first of all;
Very clean.
Food also averagely good;
What I do wanna mention is: we came as we watched YouTube videos & Instagram posts; I was excited abt Eel sashimi & sweet shrimp sashimi; unfortunately, Eel can only be ordered as sushi, and sweet shrimp sashimi is just butterflied boiled regular shrimp, no longer the raw tiny peeled sweet shrimp.
I don’t think we will be back.

The food comes out piping hot, and you can get as much as you want. While it's a large menu, you will have to order the same item multiple times to get more than one piece overall recommend trying at least once to see if you like it.

Came here for lunch with my best friend. We went for the all you can eat option but the servers kept getting confused. They had already come back to discuss the order a couple of times (in the process being pretty rude) but they still brought waaay too much food to the table, including items we didn't order. Then they stood directly behind us, talking for the whole meal and watching me with visible alarm as I try to keep to keep up with how fast plates are hitting the table while growing increasingly embarrassed.
It was during this uncomfortable experience that we realized that the party of eight or so, seated near us, were also receiving the wrong food from the kitchen. The final red flag was when they informed us that we would have to pay extra for the food we didn't eat - this was only three dollars, but it was still a little insulting to have to pay for our supposed gluttony when the reason we didn't eat it is because you mistakenly brought us enough food for a military squadron.
It was a really unpleasant and awkward dining experience all round. We both felt uncomfortable, hurried, and a little bit taken advantage of. My companion enjoyed the food much more than I did (the chicken karaage was perfect and the sushi donuts were fun) but the sushi taco was one of the worst things either of us had tasted in the last couple of years. I don't know if it was an experiment or what but it was fascinatingly bad to eat.
Killer decor though. The art on the walls is a ton of fun and the tableware feels nice to handle and use. Nice lighting.
I tipped them, because if the service stays this bad they will need all the help they can get.

Unbelievably overpriced for what it is.
$76 for: one order french fries (frozen, not hand cut with some togarashi sprinkled on top), one cucumber eel roll, two pieces white tuna sashimi, two pieces octopus sashimi. Ridiculous. Who do these people think they are. On top of that I tipped $15 cash for some of the worst, minimal service ever. Never again. No way.

Decent quality for AYCE, selection of tasteful food is relatively minimal. Ordered 3 edamames (one spicy two wasabi)to fill up. Spicy edamame was way too salty. Udon noodles were super soggy. Tuna tasted wet as well as if it had been frozen and defrosted. Sushi donut was underwhelming with way too much rice. Tako Yaki had good bonito but seemed to be undercooked. Shrimp tempura roll had a lot of rice and veggies. Japanese shumai was good I ordered a second piece. The “award winning chicken” was very crispy… too much breading and frying in comparison to the amount of meat. The textures were disproportional. Too crispy not enough meat. Dessert was good.

I had a fantastic meal at Tokyo Ya and highly recommend it. The Tokyo Ya Roll was a highlight—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The shrimp yakisoba was another standout, with perfectly cooked noodles and a savory sauce that hit all the right notes. I also loved the takoyaki; they were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a deliciously rich flavor. The service was excellent; the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making the overall experience even better. The restaurant's décor is also impressive, creating a cozy and stylish atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Really good value for AYCE sushi. Good selection for the dinner menu, and good quality sushi/sashimi. Very similar to dining experiences in Japan where you scan a QR code and then place orders from your phone. They also have paper menus. Nice restaurant, friendly staff. The only thing I’d change is if the TV showed 90’s/00’s anime’s with closed captioning. Some nostalgic anime while I eat would be so comforting (my girlfriend hated that I included this part lol)

I was really excited to visit this place, but after today I will never go back. It is unfortunate because this is a local spot in the neighborhood. I could barely eat the sushi, which defeats the whole AYCE purpose. It was really low quality, like even my spicy tuna rolls were hard to eat. We ended up just getting cooked food after, but even that was medium grade. And half the menu they have presented online & on their paper menu was unavailable on their new remote menu.
Personally it feels like they blew up on social media, knew that people were coming in, raised their lunch menu prices and got cheaper quality product bc they knew people would be coming. Not sure. But today’s food was disappointing.
The only thing I could compliment were the staff- waitresses were kind and attentive.

It’s decently well priced and it easily outclasses most Japanese places. The takoyaki is also S-tier. The hojicha(green tea) ice cream is the most green tea tasting ice cream I’ve had.

Update:
I am very disappointed. Prices went and a bunch of food was taken off the lunch menu. This is no longer affordable and I will continue with my (bi) monthly splurge at AYCE hotpot at Happy Lamb. Same price for much and you get so much good food.
This was going to be 1 start, but the waitress was really great today.
Original post:
I have gone 2 times. They changed to an online menu, which is great. I still did not get everything I ordered. But, reordering was quick and easy. Great price for all you can eat.

Very disappointing, you raised the lunch price from $19 to $25 and got rid of just about all the regular Sushi/Sahimi.
You are claiming that you have 20 new items. But many are still the same. You got rid of many items

We had a double date with our fiends last night at this restaurant. They updated the AYCE menu recently with dinner price at $34.99/person. It was a bargain, we ordered 4 rounds. We asked the waiter Sylvia and with her recommendation, we tried all of their new items, from sashimi to sushi donuts, even the Japanese tacos. We were a little bit upsetting and questioning why we didn’t get all our sashimi together. Sylvia explained that the system they use this pos system. It automatically arrange the orders to maximize the kitchen staff’s productivity. Therefore our large order of 40 sashimi got split into 2 smaller orders. Well, we did waited for a while, but at least we had all the sashimi eventually. So for $34.99 unlimited sashimi and sushi, and other items, we all agreed it was all in all enjoyable experience. Can’t complain for the price. :)

Editing, July 2024: I hate that I'm editing this review so vastly, but this restaurant went from a 5 star to a 1 star super quick. Ever since they started the All you can eat sushi lunches and dinners, things went way downhill. I've ordered twice since they started this grab, and both times staff were confused, order wasn't ready on time (the last time it took them more than an hour past pick up time to complete the order and my husband had to keep showing up in person, almost to remind them), and honestly the quality just isn't there. I am so confused on how this happened. It's an absolute mess, it's obvious that they are doing more than they can handle.
I also live close enough to notice when they get their orders. They use frozen tuna I know for sure, and if it gets dropped off early it literally sits out in front of the restaurant door in the heat and humidity.
April/May ish of 2024:
I'm really really impressed with this restaurant. My husband and I haven't eaten in, but have been to pick up. The space is very clean, well decorated, and has a great vibe. It doesn't seem cramped and isn't overwhelming whatsoever as far as lights/noise/smells. Our order was packaged extremely well and thoughtful to take away.
The food we ordered was so good! Hot, fresh, great ingredients. We got an order of the Tokyo Ya buns for an appetizer and they were amazing. I got chicken udon soup and my husband got a rice dish. Both were fantastic, packed with flavor, everything cooked perfectly.
We didn't experience a lot on the service side aside from the person at the counter when we picked up, but she was very welcoming and friendly.
I would not hesitate to order again and will come back to sit in when I have some more time!

Complete waste of time. Girl in front was so lost.. how is she a hostess? She told us they would have a table ready in 30 min, then after 30 min tells us it’s gonna be another 30 min. Then proceeds to POINT at a table saying “this is your table”. This was getting my friends and I’s hopes up as that table proceeded to get up and it was getting clean. BUT instead seats the group who came in AFTER us there??? Why promise and show us a table?? Management clearly doesn’t care cause there are multiple bad reviews of the same problem my friends and I encountered. You need to hire some hosts who know what they’re doing and fix that waitlist. If you’re a group bigger than 4 whatever wait time they tell you, just add an hour to it. Terrible.
Visited 7 months ago
Do you enjoy spending your time with friends and eating great food? Well all you’ll receive here is wasted time and effort. We arrived at 7:00pm and made a reservation with our name and number written on a list and was told it would take 30 mins. 7:30pm we come back and were once again turned away with the same wait time of 30 mins. We then enter the restaurant again after 30 more mins with an empty table which she said was for us. Just to bring in another group of people who take our tables, right in front of us. After already telling us the table was ours. We were obviously confused and asked why our table had just been given away to which she apologized and said that apparently they’ve reserved before us (we had never seen them and had been waiting outside the restaurant most of the time). Completely infuriating. The worst part is, after watching us all leave, (since we weren’t going to wait another hour) they decide to call us to say our table was ready. We were already halfway home!!! HAHAHA what a joke. Don’t come here unless you want to waste hours of your life for maybe one plate of sushi an hour after waiting and ordering.

What truly sets this place apart, though, is the outstanding customer service. Linda, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was exceptional. Do expect to wait, it's a small space, and it's definitely getting social media exposure. I waited about 30 mins for a seat, and I overestimated my wait time, going all the way to astoria park before rushing back 15+ mins late. The food is hit or miss depending on what you order. In general the rolls are good, the only things I knock them for is the Ikura, which imo tasted kinda weird, and the White Tuna, which is albacore and not escolar, and also had a weird taste when I went. I had no stomach issues or anything though. Best fish they had was the Maitai and salmon imo.
Strangely enough the best things are the cooked menu, the Takoyaki in particular is actually done very well, but you get 1 piece per order unlike other spots which give you 4 mediocre or bad ones. It's actually crispy but gooey inside with a pretty big piece of octopus instead of a scrap. The tempura was also done very good, fried to the right crispy.
At the end of the day, it's a $20 lunch ayce sushi buffet, I ain't expecting something gourmet. It's the only one in Queens right now too.

This place would rather have 2 giant 4-person tables stay empty than try to seat everyone on the waiting list. Good thing we didn’t actually get seated because the couple before us only got a menu 10mins after sitting down and asking for it themselves.

No air conditioner! Many were sweating. 2 servers but really need 4. Food came out decent speed. Heads up when ordering fried rice they give you a massive soggy bowl. Waitress said they will charge if we don’t finish. I said hell no. Missed 2 items we ordered and some items like shrimp tempura was out. Only offered 1/5 icecream on menu. One server does not check up. Would not recommend.

Kind of a bad experience tonight. Stopped by at 8:40. There were tables open & we were about to be seated by one person when another person said actually, no, we’re closed — last call is in 5 minutes. Odd bc they close at 9:30. Idk. Might be a while before we return.

Likely due to social media but the place is frequently, no, extremely packed like sardines every day no matter if it’s weekday or weekend. I came Friday and Tuesday, where I simply left on Friday because their waiting list was packed by 2:00pm and lunch could no longer be served and I was told I needed to wait until dinner which was 3 hours later. Tuesday I came earlier, they open at 12:00pm, I arrived at 12:30pm, they already have a waitlist. I will reevaluate my review once I can actually get in.
Update! You get what you get for the price, the food was good but definitely nothing special aside from their I think homemade ice cream? Might not be worth it if you’re not willing to wait but it is comparatively cheaper than other AYCE sushi bars. The staff was as attentive as can be for such a busy time, although occasionally you might need to catch their attention.

I was super disappointed with my experience at Tokyo Ya. The food tasted good but service was very poor. The waiters were very friendly but there weren't any attentive to our table. We had waited 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive - we had ordered drinks only, not food yet. So we ordered our first order of food and we waited yet around 45 minutes for thr food to arrive. At this point, we were hungry. It did not take us long to finish the food. We waited for the staff to take our next order but alas we couldn't wait anymore. We had been waiting longer than the amount of time we spent eating. Overall, it was super disappointing. It felt like we wasted our time and money. The long waiting times also made us feel terrible - neglected.

Avoid this place!! The line is very long and they are not organized at all. It is not based off of the wait-list that you sign, they do not call anyone's phone and just seat whoever is there. I witnessed another party that had been waiting since 2pm not even get seated for lunch and was told to come back at 5:30pm for dinner.
The service is very slow and a lot of your orders will be missing. Understandably since the restaurant is packed, but the issue is orders do not get filled properly. We ordered three appetizers that came almost an hour after being seated and we had to ask for it twice. We had to reorder sushi and sashimi multiple times as well before getting them.
The food itself is not amazing either. Not the worst sushi I've ever eaten, but also nothing to write home about. The restaurant prides themselves on "big and filling" rolls but that really just means stuffing a LOT of rice into every roll... I understand you can just order sashimi, but then why bother packing each roll with much more rice than necessary? The fish was somewhat fresh, but some sashimi pieces arrived warm(??). Rolls are what you can find at any other sushi place with nothing that they can call "signature". There is not much here that you cannot get at another AYCE sushi restaurant. Maybe the Ika Geso is the one redeeming dish, but as stated previously it came an hour after we ordered it.
In summary, do not be fooled by the Tik Tok reel as the only redeeming factor for this place is the price tag ($20 lunch special). If you are seeking a quick and filling sushi buffet do yourself a favor and check out one of the many other restaurants in Queens.

Service was so slow!!!! It took us 2 hours just to get in. If they worked faster maybe they couldve let a lot of people in. A lot of people beside my table was complaining how slow it was!! It took them 30 mins just to give my order in. Dont go to this place if u want to wait outside for 2 hours even though the line was short!! Also their servings were so small

I tried to come with a group for 4 people for dinner on Friday 7/5. The restaurant was not taking reservations this weekend, which wasn't a problem at the time.
The issue I had was putting our group on the wait-list at 7pm, being told to expect a call around 8:30pm, and then coming back to the restaurant at 9pm to be told that our group was crossed off without any phone calls that a table was ready.
The explanation I received from the hostess, who admitted that it was her first day so I'm trying to be empathetic, was that multiple groups did not come due to the sudden rain so she assumed that we weren't coming back, while we were waiting at a bar across the street. To make matters worse, she was unable to seat our group since the kitchen would be closing before we would have a table.
I very much wanted to enjoy dinner here but am appalled at the reasoning we were given for why our group wouldn't be seated tonight. I hope to come back for a meal to properly review this place.

Don't know what the hype is.
The employees were nice but the service was bad. No one came to take our order for 15mns. Food was ok at best. All of them were room temperatured so some of them didn't taste as good.
The seating rule didn't make sense. We had to wait over 1 hr because they couldn't sit 2 people at a 4 people table but when they called us to sit us, they started sitting 2 people at a 4 people table...
The restaurant was SO hot (no AC) we lost our appetite and decided to leave asap.

First of all, don’t expect more service than what you paid for. Since the staff is not yet fully skilled, it might take quite a while to take orders and serve food. If you’re going for dinner, I recommend going before 6 PM on weekdays. On weekends, if you go after 6 PM, be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes. Keep this in mind. When it’s crowded, it takes quite some time for the food to come out, so I recommend ordering everything at once, if possible.

Arrived 2 pm for lunch and they are already closed. The wait staff told us they run out of food. A lot of people outside are really disappointed. They should at least post it on their website if they cannot accommodate customers.
Not going back.

The rolls were decent, but the sashimi was not fresh. The food took forever to come out and we had to cancel half of our order since we waited too long. They told us the chef was sick but still doesn’t make sense why sashimi took 2 hours to come out.
As compensation they gave us 15% discount, and the waiter was polite so that was compromising.

Saw the restaurant thru tiktok, came to the restaurant on a Tuesday afternoon, there were maybe 5 parties at the restaurant, however they won’t take anymore customers, the restaurant is not ready to face the hype, don’t bother wasting your time, we drove to akino in elmhurst instead, they are always busy and sit my party down right away.

Seems very good, I wish I could have tasted it but they cancelled our reservation and we only knew once we got there. Unprofessional as they made us wait outside for more than one hour without updates and making us believe we would have been served at some point, to then see them writing on a piece of paper that they were going to close early for “shortage” of products as fish. But we were told the waiting was due to one of the chefs being sick…so make it make sense.
Visited 8 months ago
Terrible. We had reserved a table and they kicked us out because a chef was ill, but they continued to accept walk-ins who registered on a list that she hadn't told us anything about. We waited for 1 hour in front of the restaurant and they ended up attaching a sheet of paper indicating that the restaurant was closing an hour earlier than usual. They didn't even have the decency to come out and tell us not to wait any longer.
Visited 8 months ago
Food is okay (some fish kinda slimy) but this is not all you can eat but ALL YOU CAN WAIT bcs we waited more than an hour to get our first order and end up cancelling our orders and just ask for the check bcs we alr waited for 2 hours since we started eating.
Shoutout to the waiter they are the nicest and patient people. However this resto have a rlly bad management.
The cooks are sick so they only hve 2 chefs and 2 servers and everyone got dissapointed and left.
Might be a bad day for them but thumbs down for the resto management

I made a reservation for 2pm for lunch; however we were denied a table and had to confirm this despite not being told this the first time we asked. The most ridiculous thing is that we were just not informed about not being able to seat us until ten minutes after we arrived. Apparently their sushi chef was sick, ran out of fish, and just did not communicate
any information

This establishment recently turned into an all-you-can-eat, and it's fantastic. There's been no decrease in the quality of food. The sushi is fresh, the appetizers and delicious, and the small bowls of udon and rice are great portion sizes. The waitress explained the process well and checked in frequently. I only tried lunch, I plan to do dinner soon. Great place - would recommend!

Food is mid. Service is REALLY SLOW. The 1st order took 30 mins to come out. The 2nd one we waited 40 mins and it never came. Price is good but for food that never came, NOT WORTH.
Visited 8 months ago
Prices are good but service was extremely slow. Waited 30+ mins per order and didnt bring our drinks/appetizers. Extremely disorganize. The food was okay, not terrible but not the best. If you dine here, order everything on 1 sheet or else you'll wait >1 hour in total for food to come.

For what it is this restaurant is perfect. This is not a Michelin Stared restaurant, it doesn’t pose itself as fine dining. But instead a family friendly, neighborhood go to restaurant. The decor and atmosphere match its ambiance, it makes me feel like I just walked in from a street in Tokyo.
The menu was fully in English and very user friendly, they have options limited for when you are dining or there during a holiday or weekend (their higher price point of $30) but I fully intend to come back for lunch during the week for their standard menu ($20), for it has most of the things I would like to order anyway.
I have pictures and will try to add them too.

DO NOT EAT HERE! The review are either fake or bought. The reviews talk about food that isn’t even on the menu (like ramen) some of the pictures are fake. I didn’t take a picture of my food but I wish I did to show you the differences. Quality of fish is very mid to bad. Tuna and salmon sushi didn’t even look/taste fresh. This is def not a 4.9 type of place.

Everything we ordered was so tasty !
Sushi was very fresh with generous amount of fish. The ramen noodle, not sure of they make their own noodle, was so tangly. The pork that came out of ramen was so well cooked with rich flavor, very juicy. Sushi roll melts in your mouth, enough sauce on top with good proportion of rice and fish. Karaage chicken was the perfect dish to start with, the salt they sprinkled on the chicken was on point.
Service was 5 out of 5 as well, very attentive and never losing their smile :)
The place was very clean and bathroom was the cleanest I've ever been at a restaurant.
I can't wait to go back and try other dishes.

My friend and I had lunch here and it was wonderful. The decor is beautiful and the atmosphere is very relaxing. We ordered off of the $11 sushi roll menu. It comes with a side choice of either miso soup, salad or a drink. We had the miso with a muscle added, which was something I had never experienced. It was delicious! The rolls tasted fresh and were a good size. Overall our experience was fabulous. Will definitely be making this a weekly lunch spot because of the affordable price and quality of the food and service. Highly recommend.

Their lunch special is great and so affordable! This will definitely become a regular spot for me. $11 for 2 rolls and a miso soup. The sushi is very tasty and fresh. The atmosphere is delightful with beautiful decor and relaxing bossa nova music playing. 10/10 would recommend !

Possibly the best place to get sushi on ditmars. Dining in was a great experience with friendly staff and colorful ambiance. If you don't eat sushi they have other options such as cooked meat that did not disappoint.
What I found the most interesting about this restaurant is how some items are presented, a grill that is a stone, the illusion of mist coming from the sashimi platter. These things stuck out to me, made me go "wow".
The final thing, although over looked by many are the side dishes that you may get with your entree, the miso soup and calamari salad tasted wonderful and well worth looking forward to all on it's own.

Definitely plan to come back and try different things on the menu! I had the Sashimi Sampler, Gyoza, and Yuzu Tsukemen.
All had great flavor and good portions. The Sashimi Sampler was quite unique from other sashimi sets I've tried in the Ditmars area. Quality was fresh and presentation was excellent. I was especially excited to try the tsukemen (dipping ramen). Service was very attentive and intentional in taking the time to explain how to eat tsukemen.
They have a soft opening now and offered a beer / sake on the house. Their lunch specials offer great variety as well. The atmosphere is inviting and would be great for bringing friends and family. Looking forward to coming back!
