We offer delicious sushi!
This place gave the coziest sushi experience I’ve ever had! The decorations are so warm and inviting. The staff didn’t speak English but they were quite sweet. They give you a menu to check off what you want to order. I like to order off of the 50% off menu. Their prices are so cheap for the excellent quality. They make it fresh to order and the rolls are quickly served within 10-15 minutes. “Sex on the beach” and one with steak on top from the 50% off menu were crazy good!! You probably only need to get one roll per person cus their portions are pretty big!! This place is truly a hidden gem. I’d recommend this to anyone with a sushi craving!

I can’t say enough about how amazing it is! The food is absolutely delicious, with the freshest ingredients and perfectly balanced flavors in every bite. The sushi rolls are made in front of you and the rolls are creative and bursting with flavor, making it hard to pick a favorite. And for the quality, the prices are incredibly reasonable such great value for the experience!
The ambiance is just as impressive, with a cozy, inviting atmosphere that makes it perfect for a date night or a casual dinner with friends. The staff is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall fantastic experience. If you’re looking for the best sushi spot in town, Dragon Sushi is it!

My absolute favorite place in ABQ for sushi. - Cheap, (surprisingly and it’s good) Huge portions, very on point decor and vibe, prompt service.
The rolls are huge and all are 50% off which means they come around $6 to $9 bucks and they are super huge. It’s hard to bite into the sushi and it sadly falling apart, my mouth is not huge enough for the whole piece lol. The fish is fresh , the sushi rice tastes good.
Sushi dates here in this decor is perfection ♥️this place definitely on my regular visit list.

When I came I was expecting regular size sushi rolls. Let me tell you. We ordered 6 rolls. And those rolls are JUMONGOUS. they where delicious. My only critic or picky thing for me personally would be that the rolls fell apart easily, which made me sad. But the flavor was their. My favorite roll was the geisha roll. I would say if the rolls can stay more put together in the future that would be 11/10. The staff was friendly and very attentive when they saw we needed something. I enjoy the fact that the menu is the receipt bevaus then you can see what you go and they go over it with you to confirm what your ordering. The place did make me feel like I was in Japan, that was nice experience. Definitely will come again and bring the whole family.

This place was a total surprise! As soon you walk in it transports you into a magical place. The staff is very nice and the food is amazing! Not to mention their affordable prices because you get great sushi pieces and ingredients. Must go to this place and enjoy the k-pop videos while you eat sushi and hot tea.

This place blew me away the moment I stepped in. The atmosphere is enchanting and service is prompt and polite. I arrived during lunch rush on a Tuesday, but did not have to wait to be seated. There are plenty of sushi rolls to choose from along with appetizers, sashimi and adult drinks. The rice was perfect and the toppings tasted fresh. This place is a MUST try.

So went to try Dragon Sushi for the first time as it was incredibly hyped up and was so excited to try the sushi. Guys, this ain’t it. I am allergic to Avacado so they replaced it with tempura sweet potato which was incredibly strange, I’d rather they just left it all out. There is faaaarrr too much rice on these rolls. Everything was topped exactly the same even though it wasn’t labeled as such and one of our rolls actually had American Cheese slapped on top instead of the cream cheese that was supposed to be on top. The service was fine, definitely a language barrier. The decor was amazing but this isn’t good sushi. The amount of rice ruined it to begin with. I guess you get what you pay for. So if you want enormous portions, then this is the place for you.

I do not understand all of the 5 star reviews for this place. The staff are unfriendly and you have to get your own drinks, miso, everything. It seems that none of the staff understand enough English to be able to communicate directly with the guests. The rice is completely unseasoned and the rolls and nigiri are all made via machine. I'm not sure how the drink or miso soup setup even pass health coode. Nothing about this place is authentic or good.

Me and everyone else in my household has gotten food poisoning from here. If you want sushi but don't want to spend the next day wrenching your guts out, avoid this place.
Want to add that only one of the people working there looked like they wanted to be there. Everyone else looked upset, not surprised I got sick in hindsight since the cook looked like he just wanted us all to leave

I don’t like writing bad reviews but the service is really really bad. I went in a 6 PM and thought maybe I found my new favorite restaurant but they just said “no” nothing else. I’d recommend elsewhere. Maybe go to yoshimame, they have unlimited sushi for just as a good of a deal and don’t close at 6 randomly on weekdays. Food was fine the first time I ate there.
Disappointing. There is a huge language barrier as well so you may need some patience (although I’m Chinese and speak the same language as them) and they’re equally as rude lol
我们进去了,他们很粗鲁。告诉我们“不”,然后摇了摇头,但没有再说什么。只有 6 个。太荒谬了

I really dislike writing a bad review. This place is really dirty. As I sat and ate my food, I had more than one roach crawling on my seat. When we received our food, it was huge abnormal sized sushi pieces. A lot of the sushi has fake crab meat added to it as fillers. The sushi we got had some weird filler that resembled sweet potato, and another filler one looked like tofu. Reviews said the fish is fresh. The fish is not fresh. This is not authentic Japanese sushi. I don't understand how there are so many good reviews. Beware of this place!!!

Favorite sushi place ever! In fact before I got pulled in here by my daughter I told everyone I didn't like sushi.
Fun fact, nobody speaks English here!
Food selection is all good but it's like a game of darts as to what you will get until you find something you love and keep ordering that.
It's like going to any other country where you don't speak the language, you muddle through it till you find something great. but you don't have to fly somewhere. Somehow they ended up in our neighborhood.
my top four picks are: 007, King Cobra, Da bomb, and Samurai.
lover there crab rangoon as well. been here like 2-3 times a month since my fist time.

Those places in a diamond 💎 in the rough! Tucked away in a little shopping center in an unassuming little building, walking in you are warmly greeted by the staff and wonderful smells and walls covered in nostalgia from Japan. The food is an amazing value and SO delicious! The sushi rolls are ENORMOUS! I have a food allergy (avocado) and they were careful to not contaminate my food. It's hard to find authentic sushi but this play is amazing. Limited seating so if you come a little before or after the lunch rush is best.

We ordered the following:
Scott roll - pretty good, super crunchy.
Crunch roll - came with a ton of unexpected roe (fish egg) on top. I wish this was mentioned on the menu, as I am not into it.
Green Chile tempura roll - best out of the bunch by FAR. Good Chile, and a good amount of it.
007 roll - menu didn't mention the salmon on top or the tuna in the roll. We were going for NONfish rolls this trip after a bad experience with fish at a different sushi place. The crab stick tempura was definitely a sweet potato.
Money roll - "seared cream cheese" is apparently American cheese. But ... It works??
Spicy California roll - pretty good! Lots of crab mix in it, not much cucumber.
All in all decent food for a great price. I wasn't happy with all the unexpected roe on a couple of the rolls, sweet potato tempura in place of crab stick tempura was sad, and there were sweet scrambled egg bits in a few of them that was... Weird.

The food was great until a roach ran across the table.
The roach was the main concern. To add we had to ask for everything we needed, ramekin for soy sauce, had to get up to get our own napkins, water/drink, was told I was the first to order unfiltered sake.
The place is decorated nice, atmosphere is great, we were excited to try it but the roach made us leave after 4 bites.

I was surprised walking in. Never visited here before and the over the top decorations were different. Busy night, so it took a few minutes to get our order placed. Can not complain about the food but the lack of working ice machine (having to shop up blocks of ice sitting in melted water with a scoop and the lack of refilling the water dispensor (took almost 20 minutes from the time we identified ) kind of nocked down the over all opinion of the experience. The bathrooms....if you are the type to look for a clean restroom or hold it until you drive home across town, you will be holding it.

Came here with my wife at 730pm on a Tuesday night to enjoy a nice dinner since my wife just had our baby. This was a treat for her since she wasn’t able to eat sushi while she was pregnant. We waited inside for about 10 minutes for someone to sit us. Unfortunately, when someone helped us they told us they were closed because “they were too busy”. This was really disappointing I thought being “busy” was a good thing for the business. They were turning so many people away because of being “busy” even tho there were so many tables available. Instead we went to YOSHI MAME even tho they were busy they were happy to have us.

Probably the least expensive Sushi you can get in Albuquerque - - especially if you are into quantity……rather than….
But many times, what the heck!! I can only afford to go with quantity only!! 🙂
Dragon Sushi has the most amazing colorful interior decor of any restaurant I have ever seen. The decor is totally Japanese!! Incredible !! Just seeing inside this restaurant is worth the trip.

Very good sushi, the squid plate was very plentiful and delicious and the prices were reasonable... Probably the best bang for your buck when it comes to sushi as they have less expensive items/rolls too if you're on a budget . The only weird thing is they're fake 50% of all rolls. It's really half off all rolls all the time, it's even printed onto the menu... So why not just have the menu price reflect the actual price instead of marking it up 50% to advertise 50% off? Not sure how this makes sense but don't let that deter you from trying this place out. The server's accent (Japanese )was a little heavy so possible communication concern if English is not your first language. The wasabi was a little on the timid side and only came out on 2 of the 10 plates we ordered but that wasn't that big of a deal (I didn't ask for more since it wasn't that strong). Very cool comfy and extremely decorated dining experience. The TV was on a Japanese channel and the subtitles were not in English so be prepaid for that if it bothers you as it's on at a decent volume. Definitely worth it to try this place out!

I love this place! The 1st visit was with my husband and another couple, and we all ate everything on the plate with about 6 different sushi. We forgot to take pictures of all the food, but it's the first time for me to eat so many things! My husband and I came for the 2nd time, and we took a few pictures. But this time, we took some home, and we really enjoyed most of the sushi.

What a shame! I raved about this place when it first opened. Had a Master sushi chef who would also take your order and his parents helping him. He made the most beautiful and delicious rolls. Rice came in different colors, it was amazing. I just recently went there again and he must have sold it. All new people, we ordered 3 rolls. When they came out the waiter didn't even know which roll was which. Bad service. They looked totally different. The new chef had a machine that was forming the rice for nigiri, not by hand. The worst part is it wasn't even sushi rice!! It wasn't seasoned, it was just plain steamed rice. There is no amount of items you can put on a roll to make it taste good if they are using plain rice. They were so bland. We left 95% of the rolls there. The place is dirty, there was soy sauce all over the wall by our booth, ceiling had a huge whole in it from a leak which is why they decorate with posters covering every inch of the place to cover up the filth. I wish everyone could have experienced this place when they first opened, now it's completely different, so sad to see a once amazing restaurant get ruined by new owners. And even their 50% off special does not make it worth coming here.

Like cheap sushi? While it's not amazing sushi, it's still good, and at the most inexpensive in all of Albuquerque, it can't be beat, price wise. With their half off rolls, dinner for two people 18 - 25 bucks. You will not find that this day and age anywhere! Service is good, but there is a language barrier. They couldn't figure out we wanted flavored drinks....not a big deal, but they did give us water. The look and feel are unique in and of itself. Once we figured out the drink issue, you have to get up and get it yourself from the fridge. I'm wondering if this is a cultural thing as all the staff only primarily speak Mandarin or Cantonese. Very fun atmosphere, staff is great, food is good and super super inexpensive. It's always crowded in here, and if you're short on cash, this is the place to go....
Visited 6 months ago
This place has the best bang for your buck when compared to any place in town. Huge 2 bite, sized rolls that all taste great. The place is small but decorated in a really fun way. People complain about service here but I believe you should take into account cultural differences. If you want a soda, get up and walk 4 feet to get yourself a can from the refrigerator. Same goes for a to go box. Ginger and wasabi are available in containers to grab by the sushi counter. It’s not a place to go if you like to be waited on in the traditional American restaurant way. It doesn’t mean they’re trying to be rude though. This is an awesome spot with great sushi and good hard working people. We are regulars for takeout and date nights. Make sure to leave a tip because you’re getting a steal of a deal here.
Visited 6 months ago
It was alright. Don’t get me wrong the food wasn’t terrible, the rice was a little dry. The service wasn’t the greatest. I asked for to go boxes and the waiter pointed at a chair that had a stack of boxes and told me to go get them myself…I was a little shocked because I’ve never been told by a waiter to get them myself…but overall it was ‘okay’.

The ladies next door at Nature Spa recommend this place and it did not disappoint. We were seated right away and my daughter's loved the decor equipped with lights, latterns and artwork. They were running a 50% off special and we got our fill of high quality sushi for under 20 bucks. I spend more than that at the grocery store and this sushi is way beyond compare. The rolls are huge and by far the best sushi I have had here in NM. We have been back several times since our first visit, the food is always delicious and the staff is always welcoming and courteous. Definitely try this place out.

Had two sushi rolls unfortunately didn't get a pic. They were both really good size. Taste was decent. No Wasabi or ginger as the norm? Not sure if I was supposed to ask for them. Really good prices. Half off all rolls? Wow 15 bucks total for 2 big rolls not bad

Definitely get your fair share of sushi for a great price. And the sushi is good! But, the place is really run down and pretty dirty. There is a section in the dining room ceiling that looks like it's about to cave in on anybody who sits in that area. The bathrooms smell like one of the outhouses at a campground.

One would pass right by this little restaurant if they weren't looking for it, and how sad that would be! I ate some of the best sushi I've ever had, in a land locked state. I highly suggest trying one of the fried rolls, I had the NY NY roll and melted in my seat! I also tried a couple of the salmon rolls. One was seared, and both came topped with crunchies, tobiko (roe), and a delicious sauce. We also got the calamari and crab rangoons. Good sized calamari rings and I'm fairly certain the rangoons were made with real crab! I will definitely be going back for round 2, and probably 3 and 4 and more!! Also, did I mention half of their menu is permanently half off? 🤯 And the ambiance of the little place transports you! The walls and ceilings are covered in posters, lanterns, flags and more! Whether you decide to bask in the fun, interesting interior, or carry out and take it home, I promise you will enjoy!! Check this place out!!

Dragon sushi has been highly talked up so I decided to go try.
Firstly, service was really interesting. There was almost no guidance on where to sit or how the menu worked. I was not checked on on even one time, I had to get up and get my own to go box.
The food was okay. Maybe just the kind of sushi I got but rice was hard and fish looked like it had been out a while.
Area restaurant is located is kind of interesting too, I hesitated whether I should go in alone or not. Overall atmosphere is cool though.

The sushi fell apart and the pieces will not fit in your mouth. I mean the atmosphere is awesome. That's my best compliment.

My boyfriend and I giggled about the "greatest sushi you'll ever have" comment
Until we got here. It is amazing! The food is spectacular, the service is fast and friendly! And the ammount of food you get for the price is unbelievable for a sushi place.

Extremely well decorated for an incredibly authentic dining experience in Albuquerque!
Some of the best sashimi and sushi I have had outside of Japan, and the half price sushi rolls keep getting full affordable.
They do not take reservations and the space is small with the inside of the restaurant a similar width and depth as some of my favorite places in Japan. Movie posters, art work and lanterns make it feel like the doorway is a portal taking you out of Albuquerque.
The first cup of water will be brought to the table, then it's up to you to refill as needed. The fridge has other drinks, and saki can be ordered from the waiter/waitress.
The son prepares the sushi and his parents take care of orders and bussing. Be patient and polite for a phenomenally authentic dining experience. Language barrier can create a problem requesting food allergy awareness, that being said:
The ingredients are all listed. Order what is safe to eat, and we have not had any cross-contamination. There are delicious vegetarian options!

I think this was some of the best sushi I've ever had! The food was amazing and the restaurant itself is so cool; I love the decorations.

Best sushi joint in Albuquerque. Fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food across the entire menu. The prices are very generous as well. This will be a regular dine in for me.

Definitely a hidden gem in Albuquerque! Such and amazing atmosphere and the food was delicious. The portions are huuuuge! Decided to try the Sex on the Beach Roll which is topped with steak to try a more non traditional roll out and it was delicious!!

I would love to rate this place a 5 star but the customer service was just not there. The food was amazing I give it a 12/10 I would come back here over and over for the food. The owners didn't speak any English and start yelling at us about how to get alcohol or trying to make us get alcohol which we didn't want. I'm not really sure what he said. So the communication wasn't all there. Back to the food tho the only reason I'll keep coming! I've been trying to find a good spot here and i finally found one!

Went to Dragon Sushi for the first time tonight. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was nice and intimate. The husband and I ordered a total of 4 rolls which at other sushi places would be a pretty solid meal. The rolls that came out were gigantic. The taste of the components were great; however it was nearly impossible to fit one piece in my mouth and the slices kept falling apart. We left with a massive amount of leftovers. Overall, I would definitely recommend trying this place out but don’t expect one-bite pieces of sushi. The price was amazing for the amount of food you get.

Love the place but it's way to hot looked at the thermostat and it was set at 85......... almost passed out.

The place reminds me of Japan, the place is more of a hangout, food it's interesting also they use disposable cups, can drinks. The combination of flavors is good they have a ceviche roll also a roll that has beef in it and one with bacon. I would say the rolls are big but they fall apart. Over all like I said it's more of a hangout place.

Amazing Sushi just be ready for most the staff to not talk English
Visited 9 months ago
What an enchanting experience. Atmosphere is wonderful and staff is friendly, although it seems most dont speak english, but the menus are pretty pointy talky so its not an issue. I would say that actually lends well to the experience. I've been going here a while and I used to get their Edamame, but I wouldnt recommend it highly anymore, they used to drown it in some chili oil, but I guess they decided to change the recipe. But thats only a minor downgrade, the sushi is great and they are well priced.
Take a chance and try them out.

Very unique environment. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, although there was a long wait time. However once we were seated, we were promptly served. Would recommend

We came in for sushi (due too it's star rating) we came in not owning what we were ready for, walked in and were greeted by a softly spoken host, we picked our booth and they have a TV playing YouTube videos of music and camping videos, they had iced water ready and waiting for us before we sat down. We got our menu, a checklist type menu with pen, 50% off all rolls! We didn't know, if you wanted a soda with your meal, you have too get up and pick it up yourself from a smaller fridge, right under the ice water station (self service). They make ur roll to order and the taste is amazing! We order the California, Philly and the tempura is excellent! We had too get a to-go box for what we wanted too finish, but couldn't or it was a food comatose for us! It traveled well and my wife's nephew said the eel sauce was some of the best he ever tasted!

The portion sizes are good. The rolls are decent, but not spectacular, however the price is good for the amount you get. Lots of decoration in the building. They do appear to have damage from a prior roof leak that is unsightly.

It’s so cute in here, the rolls are massive and taste great

Amazing food. Just make sure you ask for everything you might want right away! (Wasabi, ginger, drinks, etc) because they will not come back to your table to check on you.

I loved Dragon Sushi! The rolls are enormous so order conservatively. For a party of 4 we ordered 6 rolls and ended up with enough leftovers for a whole roll. We were massively stuffed. Everything was really tasty and the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and stuffed full of Japanese culture.

Young man who seemed to be in charge was yelling at all the staff-very loud, very obnoxious very unpleasant
Women who Brought us our bill, very unpleasant and she had food all over her shirt
The guest at the next table was served a Costco size jug of soy sauce.
The guest at the table behind us asked for a Diet Coke he pointed and said to them There is a cooler over there, Go get your own soda
The pieces of sushi were too large to eat with chopsticks, sloppy presentation It’s two different sizes of fish on the Nigri no consistency
They didn’t give us plates
No ginger, we had to ask for it
I will NEVER go back to Dragon Sushi

Huge portions and great price! Ordered five rolls for four girls and we had more than we could finish. I also loved the decor :) our favourite roll was the dragon roll

Great sushi at a great price! The only hard part was that the staff didn’t speak English but the quality, taste, and price out weigh that. Definitely recommend!

Sushi was horrible and all tasted the same, bad. Service was the same, either I was ignored or service personal could not speak English.

This was my first time here and I was not disappointed.
We stopped by right around noon. So they were a bit busy. It took a bit to get the food, but it wasn’t too long of a wait.
We ordered a couple of appetizers and couple of special rolls. Everything was delicious! The Crispy Rice with Tuna (appetizer) was so good. I would go back just for that.
I really liked the atmosphere. The place is wall to wall full of Japanese decor. Which made for a cooler experience.
And lastly, the prices were very reasonable.
