Yoshi sushi is a hidden gem!! delicious sushi, hibachi and appetizers. The service is impeccable and we enjoyed our first time visiting!! We’ll be back soon!

What do I say about this place! I don’t know where to begin, but let me try. After a rough start to his birthday, my husband and I decided to have his favorite, sushi! Yoshi was very close and we decided to head there for the first time. We were welcomed by the lovely Nicole (I hope I heard the name right) She started telling us about the special Salmon they had, and how they prepare a side dish from the Salmon belly area that was so tender and buttery. We opted for that and for the rolls which were served really quickly and were fresh and just delicious! The side (which I unfortunately didn’t catch the name of) was super special and delicious and super worth it like Nicole described. We were very thankful for the recommendation. We also had the shrimp tempura which came with sweet and sour sauce that did not disappoint. And Finally they absolutely brightened my husband’s day with a complimentary birthday treat (fried ice-cream) that was so yummy. The staff are very friendly, the place is clean and has a lovely decor/ambience. They go above and beyond and their food is fresh and tasteful. I highly recommend this place, you won’t regret!

Enjoyed a nice lunch today...the service was great...the atmosphere was calm and relaxing...the food was good...it was my 1st time tasting fried cheesecake and it was delicious...the presentation of the food was such a creative bonus as well

I arrived with my son and noticed the crew members were ready and eager to serve. However, the welcoming phase came slowly and we had to wait to be acknowledged.
After receiving menus and exchanging pleasentries we had to wait again for our order to be taken. Yoshi Sushi and Teriyaki seems to be receiving plenty of take-out orders to keep the kitchen busy but at the time we arrived there were only 3 people seating at an indoor table with a baby. No more guests in the restaurant so the waiting time went unexplained to me.
After ordering, we got a Homemade Lemonade and one glass of water. Why not bring two glasses of water, if we are two?
Then, after a while, the food arrived. Food was hot and in decent presentation.
However, the Shrimp Tempura with Veggies and Fish Tempura apettizers were too heavy on the breading/battering. It was very difficult to find the shrimps ( only two shrimps that look like artificial shrimps... and two veggie tempura) and the small white fish bites ( the fish had a good appeareance and texture but very tiny pieces...).
The Fried Ice-Cream was just that. Nothing special worth mentioning.
What I found odd was that not a single time our table was cleaned after eating two appetizers and a main dish plus the waiter asked me to keep my dirty utensils after retiring the dirty appetizer dishes. Why?
After eating basically nothing from these two appetizers, I ordered a scallions beef wrapped dish that was a better choice and to be honest despitr having nothing exceptional to it, I felt like it was a good choice.
The homemade lemonade looked good. I didn't taste it.
I will say that perphasp is a good place to order from and make a quick stop for a quick bite. They don't sell alcohol but have a shelf for patron to leave their BYOB.
The restaurant will benefit from an update to the decor and from a deep cleaning and/or shampooing their carpeted floors and/or rugs. They look dirty on some spots in contrast with less stepped-on areas. The bathroom was okay.
Overall, my rating is a 3 star reviews. I could come back but it's not an impressive place to go to. Basic.

Hidden gem in Woodbridge with amazing food. The toro was melt in your mouth soft. Highly recommend the sleeping beauty roll and the autumn ny roll! That’s just the food. The place is owned by a sweet family that’s so welcoming and warm. We order from here all the time but this was our first time eating in. Love this place!

Wow!! My sister in law and I go out to lunch every few weeks (LOL our own lunch tour), and she has ordered takeout from Yoshi and raves about it. So today we decided to go there for lunch. I am so glad we did.

This Jewel across from Woodbridge Train Station is everything and more.

First the atmosphere is authentic, warm, friendly, inviting. It is a small restaurant with maybe 8 tables, which are all adorned with bud vases with fresh carnations and baby's breath and set with napkins and chopsticks. There was even a bunch of carnations in the bathroom, which was exceptionaly clean and bright.

It has the feel of a hometown local family business The menu is vast and offers something for everyone. We opted to go with Hibachi. We both ordered from the dinner menu as neither one of us ate all day. With the dinners you get soup, salad, main course, rice, noodles and vegetable. All of which were portioned so well that there is lunch for tomorrow.

The flavors were on point, not too little and not to much. I had beef and it was cooked to perfection. Their salad dressing is Delicious and homemade, they also offer homemade lemonade.

The food tastes fresh, the service is amazing, so friendly, so accomdating. You can customize how you would like something, or change something, they are eager to make your experience and amazing one and they hit their goal!

Another guest came in while we were there, and I am guessing a regular, our server the guest were talking, we weren't listening in but you could tell they know their guests.

We will be back!

Amazing food!!! I love dining in here. The service is timely and the food portions are huge. My favorite is the hibachi shrimp, but their homemade rolls are delicious too! I introduced my mom and my sister to this spot and now it’s their favorite spot

I can’t say enough good things! We were from out of town, headed back home and we stopped here for dinner. The food and presentation was amazing. Best sushi I have had in a while. My kids got the chicken hibachi and it was hands down one of the best. The service was top notch and our server was the sweetest. At the end of our meal she gave us warm wet clothes and my son the cutest drawing set for us to take with us. He loved it and played in the car with it for the rest of our drive home. Highly recommend you check out this hidden gem. Best service and food I have had in a while.

Attention attention attention!!! If you haven't been to Yoshi Japanese cuisine, you are doing yourself a disservice. My family and I went today and everything we ordered was amazing! The waitress recommended so many dishes to try and she was spot on every time. We were blown away by the many different and delicious flavors. The dessert was yummy too. I recommend this spot if you have never been. We will definitely be back. Thank you again to all the staff at Yoshi. The service was amazing and so was the food. 10/10!!

This place as absolutely amazing, i came here with my brothers to take my grandma out for her birthday and they surprised us with music an amazing dessert tray of the dessert we asked for but much more decorated without us asking! the server named nicole is so kind, and she handles your meals with care and packages them too. definitely recommend this place

We went here for my grandmothers birthday and the service was excellent and the food was delicious. They took care of the plates fast and wrapped our food, we felt at home and very welcome. They sung happy birthday and everything as well. Nicole was amazing with her service checking up on us and she was very kind.

While I was going through a very difficult time in my life last year, I will always be grateful for both the kindness and generosity from Nicole and the wonderful Yoshi Sushi staff!! As a sushi/Japanese food lover, the food at Yoshi Sushi & Teriyaki is WONDERFUL!!! Lunch and Dinner Bento Boxes are my favorites!!!! Their entire menu and service is OUTSTANDING!!! Recently, my sister and I had a sushi feast there and without question...Yoshi is our go to place for sushi!!! Also, I spent NYE with the Yoshi staff and had an amazing time with great food!!! Reasonably priced...Definitely worth it!!! Thanks for EVERYTHING!!! YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!!

I had never eaten at Yoshi before because I always arrived very late in Woodbridge. Luckily, I arrived by train in Woodbridge while the restaurant was open and, I decided to order food. Listen: Eat here. Their Sushi is next-level. I will return to sample other foods but suffice it to say, Yoshi is a solid choice. Worth every penny....and did I not mention that they're really nice??? Enjoy as I did!!!

If I could marry a restaurant, it would be Yoshi!!! The staff are incredibly kind and the food is excellent! I especially like the fried rice and sushi!!! I would recommend Yoshi to the ENTIRE world if I could. Please support this lovely business that puts a smile on my face AND my tastebuds. P.S. The ambiance is incredible, I feel like I'm in heaven when I enter those doors.

Wanted a unique catering idea for an in office meeting and someone suggested Bento boxes. A quick google search lead me to Yoshi Sushi. I phoned the restaurant and spoke with the very pleasant Nicole. I explained to her what we were looking to do and find out how far in advance I needed to order. I called back 2 days later to place the order of 16 dinner bento boxes for pickup. I arrived at the restaurant a little earlier than my time today and was greeted very nicely. The food was being prepared as I waited and I was provided my order very soon after. The men there helped carry it all and load it into my car and they even gave us a platter of fresh fruit which was a nice summer treat! Our business guests loved the presentation of the food and the tastes. Our office is a Japanese owned business so we had many Japanese onsite that day and the food disappeared so quickly I didn't get to take a photo. But we will sure try using this as a catering option again in the future and I will recommend to anyone who asks. Thank you Nicole and Yoshi Sushi staff for helping us deliver this unique luncheon.

The calamari (fried) appetizer was delicious with the dipping sauce. I also had two Salmon Avocado rolls and the Shogun Roll. (S3 Special). The salmon avocado rolls taste great on their own. The Shogun Roll is alright. Soy sauce made it taste a little better. Overall, a pleasant dining experience.

Everything we ordered was excellent. The station roll is very tasty and the hibachi steak and chicken are amazing as well. Definitely recommend the money bags as well, perfect combination of smoothness with crunch.

What a great find! My wife and her colleagues order sushi from here all the time at work, and she took me for the first time tonight. Can't wait to go back! I had the chicken hibachi and it was the best hibachi I've ever had. The service and atmosphere are also great. Nicole was a great server!

This is a great little spot i’m glad i found. First off, their service is wonderful. They are very welcoming and really make you feel attended. If you aren’t sure what you want they are great at helping you pick something based on your palette. The service is really A1 start to finish. I love the hot towel they give you at the end as well, it’s a nice touch. Really wraps everything up.

The atmosphere inside is simple, yet homey. I definitely feel at peace when dining in. Definitely one of my favorite sushi spots. Good food, good service, good prices. Hard to get all 3 nowadays.

Giving this place 5 stars. Everything was just so amazing. The service was also really fast. Nice cozy environment. Did not have to wait long for our sushi to be served. All the nigiri and sushi rolls were so delicious and fresh. The hibachi was also done really well. The beef was so tender and cooked perfectly. Make sure to order the fried ice cream for dessert - so yummy! Would definitely come back.

Giving Yoshi 5 Stars for their food and service. This place is fantastic! Atmosphere is nice and chill and the staff, especially Nicole, was exceptional at their jobs. They know what they’re doing and you can tell that making the customers happy is their main priority.

We came with a group of 4 and each of us left with our tummy filled with food and happiness. We ordered hibachi, appetizers, and sushi. For the hibachi, one of the best we've had, they were able to combine the chicken, beef, and shrimp for us. If you're a hibachi lover, this is a must try! For appetizers, we ordered the crispy calamari, yellow tail jalapeno, and salmon belly... please do yourself a favor and order any of these because they were, literally, all so good. For the sushi rolls, we ordered shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, godzilla, and the rock and roll. Chefs kiss.

I will highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to have some sushi/ hibachi. I will be returning to Yoshi for sure, the next time I'm around this area of Jersey.

This very quaint and hidden gem is where you want to go and eat sushi. The food here was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meal, appetizers and everything in between. Definitely a must try if you are in the area and want great sushi.

I just recently moved to Woodbridge at the end of October 2023 - my boyfriend and I are big sushi people and have tried so many places all over NJ. This small family owned business is by far the best sushi restaurant we’ve been to. 10/10 service is wonderful, staff is extremely friendly, food is delicious, and it has been an overall wonderful experience. We went two nights in a row that’s how much we love it! Nicole is especially the best and the sweetest!

Cozy family-owned restaurant with fresh sushi and appetizers. The flavors are delicious (especially the salmon belly) and the presentation looks great. The prices are decent for sushi, and the service and quality is very good. They even gave us a free dessert as a birthday treat! We will definitely return.

Most amazing sushi, flavors, food and experience EVER! I rarely, if ever, write reviews but my wife and I have lived all over the country beginning in So Cal west coast all the way to east coast, North and South zig zagged in between including several top metropolitan areas and can attest to Yoshi having the best sushi and home environment of all time! They deserve more than a review. Confident Gordon Ramsay would lick the plates, as we do. Since our first visit we have been coming here once a week for the last three months since moving to New Jersey. This was aligned with the timing of ownership change. Nicole serves us, her husband is a top sushi chef from Brooklyn, her brother his excelled apprentice, and the rest of the staff is just as dialed in. The sauces, flavors, structure, and pure attention to detail demonstrate the love, care and passion they put into their art. They put people first and are committed to providing the most amazing care and experience. Not only are they BYOB, they encourage it (we were hesitant on our first visit bringing in a few bottles lol). They will make sure whatever you bring is going to add appreciation to compliment your meal and experience; you will be offered an ice bucket for your wine or beer, shaker for your vodka martini, ceramic clask for your saki while heating it if you’d like, AND correct glassware associated with with anything you bring! Truly amazing and we have found our new home! A place like this is SO rare these days, seriously the best and our hearts sing for Yoshi to wind down our bust work week on a Friday or Saturday. Nicole will turn up the music a bit in the late evening (if it’s ok with current clientele and environment) and we have an absolute blast. Yoshi is a must visit! I also must admit we’ve broken down during the week dreaming of the flavors and ordered delivery or take out as a guilt pleasure! We just can’t get enough. AMAZING! First off the new owner Nicole and her team are incredibly kind, warm and so fun. The food is amazing and fresh. They have the most delicious specials. So definitely suggest asking about the unique specials they have.

My husband and I come almost every weekend to wind down our week.It’s so nice that it is BYOB. We bring some wine and have the best time. This place is amazing and the atmosphere is clean and relaxing. Again Nicole and her family are just so sweet and inclusive. She makes you feel like part of the family. Again the food is beyond delicious wether it’s Sushi Rolls, Sashimi or honestly anything on the menu. Highly highly recommend!!

What do I say about this place! I don’t know where to begin, but let me try. After a rough start to his birthday, my husband and I decided to have his favorite, sushi! Yoshi was very close and we decided to head there for the first time. We were welcomed by the lovely Nicole (I hope I heard the name right) She started telling us about the special Salmon they had, and how they prepare a side dish from the Salmon belly area that was so tender and buttery. We opted for that and for the rolls which were served really quickly and were fresh and just delicious! The side (which I unfortunately didn’t catch the name of) was super special and delicious and super worth it like Nicole described. We were very thankful for the recommendation. We also had the shrimp tempura which came with sweet and sour sauce that did not disappoint. And Finally they absolutely brightened my husband’s day with a complimentary birthday treat (fried ice-cream) that was so yummy. The staff are very friendly, the place is clean and has a lovely decor/ambience. They go above and beyond and their food is fresh and tasteful. I highly recommend this place, you won’t regret!

The food is amazingly great! I had the Siomai, Salmon, Spicy Tuna, and Shrimp Tempura. Service is really good. The people were very nice and the food was ready in a couple of minutes after ordering. The place is also good. It is not that big but has a good amount of seats to bring a couple of friends. Parking is not a problem since it is next to a train station. Overall, this place is definitely a 5-star restaurant.

I ordered take out from them for the first time. The Fried rice and noodles were average. The “hibachi chicken” however was not hibachi chicken at all. It was a soggier variation of general tso chicken, it was gross and inedible for me. I never knew hibachi chicken was breaded. Even then the breading was falling off the chicken and into the sauce mix from the first bite. Would not recommend this place.

If you've been the amount of sushi restaurants I have you know this place is EXACTLY what you are looking for. Had a couple different roles and some softshelled crab and everything was absolutely phenomenal. Very chill/laid-back atmosphere with quick and friendly service. Seemed to be the only ones dining in but there was a fair amount of people collecting takeout. Absolutely would eat here again

My first time here. I was waiting for the train and needed lunch. The staff was welcoming, and attentive. I got the Lunch Special, which was delicious and quick. I especially enjoyed the sweet potato roll. Great experience..
