Dakota Prime, with its newly renovated restaurant and bar, has become the newest and the most exciting restaurant in Vineland and Cumberland county. We are proud to offer the best sushi and steaks, using the finest ingredients which are sourced locally when possible. With the renovations, we upgraded the menu greatly as well, adding Certified Angus Beef steaks, 28 days dry-aged steaks and house-specialty Sushi rolls to go perfectly with premium cocktails and a huge variety of unique wines. Dakota Prime Steakhouse has become a can't miss, unique experience in Vineland.
I can’t say enough great things about Dakota Prime Sushi and Steakhouse. From start to finish our meal and dinner service was top notch and phenomenal. The attention to detail and love put into each course shines every step of the way. Our server Kristina was knowledgeable and helped us with dinner and beverage selections. The ambiance makes you feel like you are in a five star upscale restaurant in Atlantic City. The drink menu is spectacular with a wonderful selection. The manager and operator came over to greet us with a smile and ask us how our dinner was. It’s the personal touches and quality that will keep us coming back time and time again. I can’t wait to tell my friends and family! We can’t wait to come back!

Today was my my daughter's birthday and we decided to try a new place for dinner. We have gone past Dakota Prime many times but have never stopped, until today. We started the meal off with the crab bisque and the crab tower. They were both excellent. Lots of lump crab, not the tiny shredded pieces. Every one knows crab bisque but the crab tower was new to me. Picture avocado covered with mango and topped with crab and a spicy sauce. For entrees my daughter and I had the sushi love boat. The dragon roll was the best, loved the sauce. My daughter enjoyed the sashimi. My wife is not a fan of sushi so she went the NY Strip. It was cooked perfectly , tender and delicious. We finished the night with the chocolate covered cake and a complementary cake pop. The staff was awesome and we will definitely be going back.

My husband and I decided to eat a new place and chose Dakota Prime Steakhouse. We ordered from the pre-fixed menu. 4 courses for 35.99 and I chose the crab bisque, Caesar salad and the NY Strip Steak. I also upgraded my steak and made it Oscar (hollandaise, crab and asparagus) for an additional 20 bucks. The soup came out and was watery. Bisque is not watery. The salad was good, until i found a black piece of lettuce in it (rotten) and my steak, well I will let you be the judge of it. It was definitely not a NY Strip Steak like advertised, unless they used a meat slicer to slice it into thirds. The steak was not consumable, had a gristle all around the steak, a gristle bubble, which i have never seen in my life and was pretty much comparable to shoe leather. The waitress was awesome and very accommodating. None of this was her fault. She asked if I wanted the steak redone and I told her no. The chef made another one and sent it out anyway. The second one was much better than the first (actually had color and cut with a steak knife), but now the oscar part (crab, sauce and asparagus) when i went to move it to look at the steak it came up in one big glob, like paste. I was done and over the meal at this point. $118 later and I ate 1 spoonful of the soup, 3 bites of the salad and one bite of the steak.
Did the original owners sell? I used to hear people rave about this place, and honestly, diner food is 10x better than this place. I dont even know if the owner knows that the food is as bad as it is. I think I would of had a much better meal going next door to Harrys pub and sincerely wish we would have.

Been here quite a few times and service is always great. Bartender is extremely attentive and skilled. This time I had the baked Brie with figs that is accompanied by soft and slightly crispy flat bread.... amazing! Also the pork shank with polenta was blissful! We missed the sushi selection that my wife raves about every time, but she was totally satisfied with crab appetizer as usual! The chefs are super fast here and consistently attentive to detail!!

My husband and I were both delighted with our dinners and service from Alek, our charming waiter,, and chef who came by to chat. There was an error in reservations a week before, so when the owner came by to speak to us, he offered my husband a generous discount. When such an effort is made for a customer's satisfaction, it is most appreciated. So, thank you to Dakota Prime for your great food, service and generosity. We will be back soon with family.

Very disappointed. Made a reservation for Christmas Eve at the beginning of December. Got an email confirming my reservation. Showed up and they were closed. Had to find new dinner plans on Christmas Eve night after getting all dressed up and looking forward to coming here. Also hours posted online said they were open. Absolutely ridiculous. Lost my business.

Came here to celebrate a birthday. Fantastic sushi. Cozy atmosphere. Interesting decor. The servers really tried their best. They were very unaware of any menu item details. We even overheard a waitress tell a table that they have had the special fish for awhile now and they have a lot of it. Prices are okay. Desserts were good but freezer burnt. We were offered a free dessert in return for a 5 star review. Definitely would return because of the sushi with lower expectations for service.

I'm sorry to say this but please don't waste your money here. The sushi is fine but honestly everything else was terrible. The soup came out cold as did the mashed potatoes. The fish was overcooked to the point of being very hard. The chicken parm was soggy. I felt so badly for our server because she was so sweet and none of this was her fault whatsoever. Whoever runs this establishment needs to take a look in the kitchen because this is not it, especially when the bill comes and it's $150. Save yourself the money and frustration and go elsewhere if you are splurging on a night out. We will never be returning to this establishment.

PHENOMENAL 😍😍😍 Everything was AMAZING.
The atmosphere is perfect, with low lighting, plush, posh, comfortable decor, authentic without trying too hard; exactly what I needed after working all day in the muggy heat (I'm from Colorado).
The service was awesome haha: my server was boisterous, attentive, and kind, without being intrusive.
And the food? FREAKIN' PERFECT!!!!!! Presentation was great, steak was cooked exactly right with pink throughout and no dark red. The mashed potatoes were plated artfully, smooth, and delicious.
I literally shed tears; I am blessed by God to be able to visit this place.
Thank you and God Bless you!
(No pictures because I was STARVING)!

Wanted Chicken Nachos, prob the worst nachos I’ve had…the queso cheese was barely melted, chicken over cooked, cut chicken in strips as if it was a salad…spent $40 after ordering one drink and tip.. wanted to send back but I didn’t want to seem rude
Way too much money for what I ordered and quality
Bartender was friendly tho

Was dying to try this place. Not at all what we expected. Their menu says 'Prime Pork Chop', but we'll below prime and ordered medium and i came out leather. The sushi platter 'Japanese Hoagie' was also sub par especially for the price with a store bought sauce on top that killed what little taste the roll had. We also ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp which was decent. Even after being comped for a bad meal the bill was way too high for 7 drinks and two apps($150).
Not to mention the kitchen had closed so they couldn't offer me another nor did they even offer a free drink for a bad meal. So a ruined meal and due to the waiter not comming back for 20 mins. I was out of luck for a replacement. Over all, not decent service, poor quality food and Mediocore atmosphere. I also question the reviews as they must pay to keep the numbers up.

Reserved online (through the Dakota Prime website) in advance for Valentine’s Day and was rudely told by the host that I did not have a reservation. I showed my confirmation and he proceeded to say that they did not have any yelp reservations. He then said that he didn’t see any yesterday and quickly changed his story to noticing it 30 min ago. Then he proceeds to shove the yelp tablet in my face showing that it is not working. Sucks because the food did look good there.
This was at 7pm on 2/14/24. Very unprofessional and non accommodating definitely telling people to stay away.

Party of six on a Wednesday night and no wait for a table. Atmosphere was very relaxed and quiet. The food was really good. We ordered the tuna tower and dragon ball for appetizers. So good. I would have been satisfied just ordering the tuna tower as a meal. The sushi, surprisingly for a steakhouse was great. Steaks that we had for dinner were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Service was immaculate. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. I really hope this place succeeds because not many restaurants like this exist in this area.

We took our daughter out to dinner for her birthday. We wanted a place we never ate at before. I was a little hesitant at first, going to a restaurant that is in a hotel but oh my, upon walking in, the atmosphere of restaurant was so stylish, modern and upscale. We were greeted promptly and seated.
We ordered crab tower, crab bisque soup, The Sushi Love Boat, Strip Steak with chimichurri & mash potatoes. Caesar Salad. We ordered a chocolate mousse cake dessert. The waitressess sang happy birthday.
Every dish that came out was oh so good, the soup was hot, the steak cooked to perfection. Salad was crisp. Bread rolls were warm. Dessert was rich.
I am seriously in love with this place and will definitely go again! Thank you Dakota Prime.

Look. This is Vineland NJ on a Monday. The only reason we came here is because they were open. Our server was a young and upcoming personable guy and has a lot of room to grow. I'm sure it has a lot to do with how much training he has received as well which is probably next to none. Needless to say the service was awkward, items were forgotten, and it is what it is. Now what's even worse is the food. Both soups that we ordered were overly salty. The chef probably smokes cigarettes and has the taste buds of a shrimp. Everything else we ordered or at least everything that we ordered and actually received was really just okay. None of us finished our dinners. None of the flavors were balanced and nothing popped. The price on the other hand did not reflect that. They charge you as if they are some notable restaurant. The decor is confused, it's a steakhouse and they serve sushi but for some reason there's pizza items on the wall. Save your time and money and literally go anywhere else.

The bar is a departure party of the steakhouse. We were able to loosely watch the game which was nice. The food was really good but it was extremely over priced. The fact that it's attached to the Ramada probably helps but we wouldn't recommend the starting at the hotel - that's a separate review.

Good place for a hotel restaurant. The beer was iffy (they ran out of one and served all 3 lukewarm). My colleagues enjoyed their steak/sushi, but I found my au poive to be overly creamy and heavy. Service was good and it was easy to have a conversation during dinner without excessive noise.

Such a great gem of a restaurant whether you like steak or sushi or both! My wife and I love sushi and we've regularly gone to Philadelphia and NY for the best within distance. It turns out that Dakota Prime has the real deal! It's outstanding and we no longer need to go on a trip for it. Also, the steak has to be the best in the area. You can go where everyone else goes and get much less quality, or you can think for yourself and taste the difference. It's up to you whether you value that. Our server was Judy, and she was wonderful! She really cares about making sure you are happy and have everything to your liking. She regularly checks in to see if you need anything and is very personable. Ask for Judy and you can't go wrong.

Looked like a nice place. Husband & son enjoyed sushi. I ordered chicken. It was either raw, freezer burnt, or just bad. Texture & taste was inedible. Took forever to find waiter to send it back. No apology. Came back out way after that & finally asked if I wanted something else. By then others were almost finished so I said no. Waited forever for check. Bad chicken still on it. Waited again. Asked for a manager. Took 10 minutes. Told him situation. He didn’t apologize, just took the check. Another 10+ minutes to get new verbal bill. Then out of the blue a chef comes out basically acting as if I just don’t know chicken. Manager still didn’t apologize, just stood there. First time in my life that I didn’t tip.

I ordered the Sushi and Sashimi combo. Although more expensive than what I came expecting from a restaurant serving sushi, the sashimi was cut in rather large portions and was very filling.
Still, 40$ for one person's food is bit much. I would expect smaller portions to leave room for the new desert menu and cutting the price of the entree in half.
The decor itself didn't feel like very much of either a steakhouse or a sushi bar. There are not really any distinctive Japanese or American decorations or touches. The decor is definitely western though in a sort of "upscale appearance on a budget" way.
Staff was very kind and accommodating, enough said. They did their job and did it very well. What more can you really ask for?

It's important to understand that you're eating sushi in a small town, the sushi chef came out twice to talk to us with a Google translate program because he only speaks Japanese and we were asking for things that they didn't have but he said just call next time and will order it for you which I thought was extremely nice. The presentations were really beautiful the quality of the sushi was okay. All in all this is definitely the best sushi in the Vineland area.

Four of us went there for dinner before going to see a show at The Landis theatre down the road. The food was very good, especially the sushi. We had a mix of entrees and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Everything was fresh and the portions were large. Prices are reasonable for the quality. The staff was very friendly. The service however, was slow and the cocktails we ordered were just OK…not mixed properly. Overall though a good place to dine.

Never again!!!! over 2 1/2 hours for dinner service. My Wife and our son's girlfriend filet's were near raw and when sent back to be brought up to temp, still came back the same.
I ordered seafood Fra Diavolo that when finally came was swimming in no less then 2 cups of oil and I'm not exaggerating in the least.
And to top it off, we had the worst waiter in the world (Alex)!!! The only time you saw him, is when an item was ready to be served which was about a half hour in-between courses, almost as long as it took to get him to get a round of drinks back to us.
The Sushi is very good, but the rest of the experience was a total flop!!!!

Unfortunately, I was only able to give Dakota Prime a 2 star rating 😕 It was my daughter's birthday and that's where she wanted to go. My sister in law ordered a steak. WELL DONE! I ordered mine, medium well. Well, she got medium and I got medium rare. One mistake is just that. Two is unacceptable. I really don't think I'll be going back. Atmosphere was phenomenal and so was our server and well as her service! KUDOS 👏

Outstanding food and drinks. Some of the freshest sushi and sashimi I’ve EVER had anywhere. Very attentive and friendly service. This was my first time back since the new management took over, and will absolutely come back even though I don’t even live in this county! We came for a show at the Levoy, had a before-dinner drink at Harry’s next door and dinner at Dakota! My bf loved his steak as well. One recommendation: maybe thicker bacon slices in the app? Chefs Kiss all around, had a great time and a delicious meal here.

I have never walked out of a restaurant before, but could not stay after being treated so disrespectfully by the rude bartender/manager. He needs to go to bartending school to learn how to make a drink & take some managerial classes and learn how to treat customers. I feel bad for our waiter, Alex, he was very nice and lost out on about a $25-30. tip. We were looking forward to having a nice steak dinner, but we never got past the drinks.

Food for table coming out at different times n served cold. Had to ask for to-go containers to take home n warm up!! And don't be in a hurry when u place your dinner order. Ours took approx. 45 minutes between appetizer n when our dinner was served. But, Sushi n Fillet-mignon ( not very warm, butter wouldn't even melt on it) was very good!!
I would definitely return and hope improvements have been made because the ambiance was terrific!!!

Picture doesn't do it justice! Ordered the sweetheart roll and Philadelphia roll, fried flounder and rib eye steak (not all for me) and it was all very delicious. Fresh ingredients, sushi is always amazing and the presentation so beautiful. Jerome was our server and very personable and attentive. Manager, Pavan also made sure us all and the guests were doing well and were satisfied with thier meals. Don't see that all the time, but just the fine details is what makes this place so great. Will continue to come here and recommend.

The food is well-prepared and tasty. I enjoyed the beef brisket tacos and the steaks are tender. Very satisfying.

VERY DISAPPOINTED, will NEVER go back there! Caesar dressing was VERY salty. Clams Casino had a strange BBQ sauce type flavor that was so bad we couldn’t finish them. The French Onion soup was so greasy that three of the four people in my group, including me, could not eat it. After a few minutes, two of us went into the restroom and 🤮 got sick. At that point we decided to leave because we did not feel well, so we told the waitress to bag our food before she even served it, telling her we were ill. Our waitress told the manager what happened and he made no attempt to come to us to offer any type of resolution to our ruined meal. As a matter of fact, he completely ignored the situation and wished us a good evening as he watched us walk out the door. Horrible customer service on the manager’s part. Over $300 later, we came home and continued to be ill. Will NEVER go back to Dakota Prime!!

The worst service I've seen, in a long time, by far. Slow on drinks, slow on food..food was ok not worth $100 for 2...couldn't get check to leave...absolute joke!!

Can't go wrong dining at the Dakota. Asian & American fare - all are delicious. Waiters were attentive but not overbearing.

Stopped here for a business dinner when it was recommended by a colleague. We were very happy with our meals and the staff were very friendly and helpful! My filet mignon was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. I would recommend tweaking a few things - the butter should be soft and whipped for the rolls (which were very tasty!) versus the cold option and the house salad was predominantly lettuce without enough other veggies. There's an Irish pub next to the restaurant for drinks before or after dinner. I would definitely eat here again!

When it is open, this restaurant is probably the best we have in the area. Food is fresh, the service is professional, and the management visits each table to assure quality. I would frequent this establishment a lot more, if their hours were not so sporadic. Definitely looking forward to the next visit.

This is a major hidden gem in the Vineland area. I had no idea it even existed but I was looking for steakhouse restaurants in my area. Google showed this first and I was hooked. The food was excellent and the presentation was over the top. Really enjoyed my dry aged steak and will definitely be coming back.

My son and I had diner there the Thursday before Valentine’s Day. We live fairly local and didn’t want to travel too far. I was definitely in the mood for steak and he was craving Sushi so it looked like a win- win. What a lovely surprise! The atmosphere is warm and the staff are amazing. My son felt the restaurant was reminiscent of some of the Las Vegas restaurants he had enjoyed while living there for some years. I can honestly say that the Filet Mignon I had was one of the best I have ever eaten. Cooked to perfection. His Sushi meal when delivered to our table made me gasp! What a beautiful presentation. Plus he said it was fantastic ( not being a Sushi fan I had to take his word for it ). Highly recommend this little gem.

Excellent job in remodeling and the menu is excellent for local upper scale dining. Unfortunately, the food is okay at best and the service is extremely inexperienced and underwhelming. The young staff are very friendly, however, they have not been properly trained which is a direct reflection on the management. Do not go there with high expectations.

Such a nice restaurant. Been living in Vineland for years and never knew about this place. My friends and I came here to catch up after not seeing each other in 6 years. The atmosphere, courteous customer service from the workers, and the delicious food was amazing. Definitely will be coming back.

The lobby was beautiful and the hostess at the front table was extremely kind and pleasant. That was probably the extent of the positive feedback I have from our experience. Our server wasn’t nasty but he was extremely inexperienced and had that “deer in headlights” look the entire time. It was actually a bit uncomfortable. He also called my husband “boss” every time he spoke to him. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it was definitely frozen and slightly freezer burnt. The marinara sauce was not very good. We ordered the filet and the filet bearnaise and when we ordered our waiter had to go back in the kitchen because he said they were out of filets. They were not. Our smashed potatoes were microwaved and were luke warm at best. Our veggies were definitely a frozen bag of ShopRite brand vegetables. I ordered my filet medium rare and it was blue and raw inside. I didn’t send it back. The restaurant itself is beautiful and it is a shame that the staff is unprofessional and the food was prepared so poorly. It is way overpriced. We absolutely put this place on our do not return list. Sad

I don’t feel like I got the quality that I paid for. The atmosphere was good, the sever was very friendly and helpful. My friend ordered rare steak and it came out well done. The server took it back right away. The sushi/sashimi was flavorless and underwhelming, and I got shrimp scampi which came out drown in butter and just tasted like microwave butter/garlic shrimp. In my opinion it was steakhouse prices for buffet quality food.

Wow! What a wonderful surprise! Some of the best sushi ever, delicious wine and WOW, what a steak! We will now make this great spot a new go to restaurant!

Worst service ever!! Went out for a date with hubby but walked out! We waited over 20 minutes at our table and no one ever came up to take our orders! The entire time there, nobody even acknowledged us! When we were leaving hubby told the hostes why we were leaving and she just rolled her eyes without offering an apology! Never again!! Dakota Prime Steak House and Sushi Bar left us extremely disappointed!!

I’m a firm believer that if there are positives, you should lead off with the positives. The shrimp tempura roll was phenomenal and there were plenty of beer and wine options to choose from. I’ll return just for the sushi and drinks alone. But the service needs real improvement and the steaks weren’t much to brag about. We ordered the New York strip and the filet and for what I paid, they were select grade at best. Certainly not prime as your name would suggest. Both were ordered medium rare and were overcooked and lacked seasoning and flavor. I hate to say it, but I’ve had a better steak at a chain steak joint. But I’ll definitely be back for sushi and drinks.

I went back to visit because our 1st Visit was so good. Unfortunately, 2nd time around was terrible. Our waitress was missing in action. She didn't check on us at all! We ordered drinks our my glasses were visibly dirty and stained. We couldn't get this issue fixed because our waitress literally went missing for 30 minutes. My steak was ordered medium and it blead all over my plate. The middle was literally raw. My entree was missing the shrimp too. My husband's pasta was like a huge pile of slop with no taste. My drinks were 21$ on the menu but rang up 24$. My waitress said it's because prices went up and the menu was never changed. So the manager comes out with an attitude of course...such a shame..will not be going back.

Horrible service. Waitress was very rude. Food was disgusting and inedible. Would not recommend this restaurant at all. The service was also extremely slow and overpriced. If I could have given a negative star I would have. Worst dining experience ever! Manager was useless.

My only complaint is this is 6 hours away from my house. In town for racing from Massachusetts, and I am so glad I came here. First time ever trying a dry aged steak, melted in my mouth. Wife had the newly release Mac N Cheese and Chicken Parm, both incredibly delicious. Portions were on point, sushi app’s were great! Will 100% recommend to anyone that ever travels this way, as well as will return when we are back down here for racing! Kudos to the owner, and thanks for the amazing meals!
