This review will be two parts. First, the 'all you can eat' trap, and second, the food quality.
Any time I hear "all you can eat", my scam alarm goes off. Despite this, my friend dragged me here. Immediately, I realized the 'catch' with the ordering system. You pay a flat fee, and are able to order from a limited menu of appetizers/sushi/entrees - the catch is that you are charged EXTRA for any dish you don't completely finish. We ate everything we ordered, so this was not an issue, but it is DEFINITELY not clearly advertised beyond a vague 'please do not waste food' message on the menu. Furthermore, a la 'olive garden', your orders are deliberately slowed down in an attempt to reduce ordering. They even tried getting us to stop by placing the receipt on the table. Nice try. The portion sizes for some dishes are also HILARIOUSLY small. This is definitely a trap for the unfamiliar. We recognized it and planned our meal accordingly, thereby avoiding being 'had' by the trap- but it is there, and you should be aware. After tip and tax, it will be at least $40, so bear that in mind while ordering.
The food quality varied by dish. The sushi roll was acceptable, and all the appetizers we tried were alright. That said, the hibachi dishes (beef/chicken) were hilariously small (both the size of the chunks, AND the plate size) - of course you can order as many as you want- I would recommend ordering one first to see how measly it is, and then ordering 4 or 5 to get an actual hibachi sized dish.

Loved this place! I eat vegan/vegetarian and had no problem here. There was a little food leftover but they weren’t fussy about it. My first time at a mandarin style restaurant.
I went with my cousins and their friends (on Christmas day eek) they said one of the sushi with meat/fish went bad but i wouldnt know.

I was skeptical to go here because of the previous reviews but I'm glad I did. I am a vegetarian and had the sweet potato rolls and the avocado and cucumber rolls, the edamame and the Thai spring rolls. It was delicious, some of the best sushi I've ever eaten. The waitress was attentive and not pushy or hovering at all. The person I went with had sushi with fish and he said it was great as well.

Inexpensive for all you can eat style... You get what you order. No skimming orders... The taste is fine. Atmosphere is good. The only thing I criticized was that there were not enough waitresses to serve its capacity of guests...
One year after last visit, the service got prompt and ample. They improved it! Very good!

The worst sushi I’ve ever had in my life. When this place first opened, it was decent. Average sushi for its price. I had sushi there last night and everything was disgusting and unseasoned. You can tell the rice was old and dry. The sushi had no flavor to it. I’m pretty sure they didn’t put sushi seasoning on the rice. It was literally just rice and fish. Rice and fish alone is very hard to eat. The chicken katsu was a hunk of dry chicken dipped in batter. The hibachi chicken tasted very bland. Not even the teriyaki sauce saved it. The only thing that tasted good was the ice cream. I don’t know how this place is still in business, because it was clear they didn’t give a crap about the sushi they were serving us. Service was very very slow, and sushi took very long to come out. I also want to add that I had very bad indigestion all throughout the next day. I’m thinking that it may of been from the tuna because it tasted pretty rancid.👎

We been coming to this place for more than 4 years, it used to me really good, not just the food but the service, this last time they were rude, they didn’t asked if we needed another menu and when asked for another menu the waitress was very rude about it. They left our dirty plates there and we were still eating, they gave us the check without asking while we were in the middle of our meal . Now, tips are earned, even though it hurt me to leave a poor tip the service from my waitress was very poor, you can see in the pictures, we had all those plates while we were still eating. The receptionist who took our check on our way out got very mad, she said that tips are
Not included, i said i know, but your service was really bad, instead of apologizing, she got mad and walked away. After spending more than $160 with a poor service and a rude staff, im sure we won’t go back.

I don’t like to leave bad reviews but this was the worst meal ever. We both like Chicken Teriyaki and usually go to the other sushi place in town but wanted to try this one. The chicken was rubbery like it was microwaved and it tasted terrible even when we drowned it with teriyaki sauce. The waitresses seemed mad when we complained and switched staff on us they didn’t understand why we weren’t happy. The food was just terrible and the service was sub par. We are in the restaurant business so we know what it’s like and this place just didn’t meet the standards of Asian food.

Food and service used to be so good but the sushi rolls keep falling apart. The texture and taste is weird and different from how sushi is supposed to taste. Also, there is NO SIGN stating the age range for kids anywhere inside and/or outside the restaurant, or the menu! It was all verbal.

The place and the foods were great but the service was bad they gave us the check early for no reason and also came to tell us that if we don’t eat we need to pay like 3 times and they were also 3 waitress that came to tell us the same thing at the sane time just like grouping and telling us the same thing I would probably say that we weren’t there for even and hour, we tried to get the check and they ignored us like 3 times. They were other people that actually left food to on their plates. They charges us which is fine for the food that we didn’t eat (like probably 7 pieces of sushi) and they asked us for tip after basically just coming every five minutes to tell us that we need to pay.

Decent food very slow service
completely forgot to bring our appetizers misplaced our menu so we had to order again
Instead of four soups, for four of us only brought two and we had to ask to bring the rest of it
Then, after already bringing our sushi, they brought our appetizers so it was very unorganized and confusing. We would prefer to have appetizers before the sushi
overall, not bad.

I try very hard not to do poor reviews unless it’s granted. The only good thing about this place was the ice cream. Our Sushi rice was not cooked and my spicy slalom roll was not fresh and tasted terrible. I did not even eat it after the first bite i had and then was charged $8 for not finishing the sushi. I even attempted to explain the situation and unfortunately they did not care. Not a single person came to check on us and we had to stare down any waiter and call them multiple times for them just to come over. Overall will not be coming back and will not recommend anyone here.

The service was terrible, the waiter was extremely condescending. She was rude when I asked questions, and barely checked on our table. She had a language barrier and was extremely irritated when I inquired about the menu. I love sushi and wanted to give it a chance but the experience was awful and I also got sick a few hours later.

Nice atmosphere, lackluster service... bills itself as Asian bistro with sushi bar and hibachi yet it lacks a hibachi grill area and those items are done in the kitchen (everything's a la carte w/miniscule portions). Definitely room for improvement.

We go here often. Its been our sushi spot and its been consistent for a while until recently. Bones in our salmon, undercooked riced, lacking service. We went and tried to use a gift card (Visa). These have worked there before but tonight a worker with glasses yelled at us saying it wouldnt work, so I asked her to still try as its brand new. It didnt work so I walked up to see the reader and she proceeded to yell at me as I tried to explain to use the number on the card. After all of this, we just did a cash payment but the whole time she was standing over us watching us try to figure out the bill + tip. Take your money elsewhere where they wont yell at you. Horrible service.

Everything we had from the kitchen was very good. Sushi rice was barely seasoned. Eel sauce was unpleasant. The hostess was doing some sort of banking over her phone, but on speaker so we got to listen to “press 1 for blah, press 2…”

Disorganized and rude. They never approached us & I had to keep asking for someone’s attention. I had to ask for menus after about 20 mins of sitting. They never made our order after I sat for about 30 mins after putting it in. People who sat before us were leaving before food came to our table. The only time they urgently came to the table is because they saw money in the check book. Never going back.

One of the worst dining experiences I've had in years. We entered the restaurant and it was completely empty. The waitress was rude from the start, didn't welcome us or asked us what we wanted. She assumed we wanted the all-you-can-eat sushi. We asked for the menu and she basically rolled her eyes.
Asking her about what comes with any item is basically a waste of time. She basically just guessed. For the "sushi for two" - $35, they have the audacity to only still offer one soup or salad. For a menu item labeled "for two." It's a joke. (Fwiw the miso soup is oddly sweet and not that good so maybe they're doing you a favor)
The food took forever to come out, maybe ~30 minutes, despite there being no other patron. Imagine if they were actually busy! The sushi for two comes with 3 pieces of tuna, 3 pieces of salmon, 3 pieces of white tuna, 3 pieces of makerel, 3 pieces of shrimp, 2 pieces of yellowtail, and one piece of imitation crab, along with six pieces from a spicy tuna roll. Imagine giving odd numbers of each item for a set marketed as "for two", not to mention cheaping out on the cheapest thing on there (the imitation crab)
The quality of the fish ranged from "acceptable" (salmon, white tuna) to "downright inedible" (my companion admitted that she secretly spat out her mouthful of makerel into her napkin). Of course the waitress never came to ask how the food was.
Oh, I should mention that there were other workers who brought the food out and filled out waters and they were really friendly, although they didn't seem to speak any English.
As we were paying our check, there was a little insert that invited us to share our feedback. By "coincidence", our waitress paced back and forth behind us as we considered filling it out, so we saved our thoughts for Google.
Would recommend prospective diners to pass on this one and check out one of the other Asian restaurants in town.

The food is amazing here for all you can eat, it’s also a BYOB area so i truly enjoy coming here with my friends and the yestercades is right around as well . The area is just so nice, at times they may even have a car show or a band playing on the weekends by the yestercades area. After reading some of the reviews .. The staff are truly really nice and deserve to be treated with more respect. It’s understandable after working long shifts with little to no tip at times how it can take a toll on them .I’ve been here several times during busy and none busy days to observe what’s been going on. Overall great service and great food. Been coming here for over 4 years, best sushi spot so far .

Food was okay, but service was sub-par. A health inspector told me to check out a restaurant’s bathroom and that should be an indicator of whether you should eat there; bathrooms were dirty and water was leaking from the ceiling. If that’s how they maintain customer facing facilities, I don’t want to imagine how their kitchen looks like. Service was not that good, but I left a 40% tip anyway on a $60 bill ($25). Only then did their demeanor change and they smiled and told us to have a nice day. It’s all good; I won’t be returning.

The restaurant has a larger selection than expected for a sushi buffet and the interior is clean. The food however was unappetizing, the fish was unfortunately not fresh, and the other food was similarly lacking. The staff however was fortunately understanding, given that we came for sushi and did not find it suitable, they only charged us for one of our party of two.

Great place...plenty of space for those who enjoy private, intimate, quiet setting. 4 star for service because unfortunately there's no fountain drinks so no free refills but when asked for another of the same drink...they forgot to give me ice. A drink at room temperature is a no-no but other than that...no real complaints. Just want them to be aware to bring a new glass with ice when a drink is ordered, even if its the same drink.

Food quality is not as good as before. It was really good when it first opened, but not any more. Sushi rolls are made with a lot of rice. Seaweed salad doesn't taste fresh. Shrimp tempura has the smallest shrimp I've ever seen in a tempura. I think the other sushi buffet around the corner is much better.

The service is very questionable.. One of our beef teriyaki was brought out raw towards the end of our meal, felt as though we were being pushed out even though it's all you can eat. The waitress also completely ignored me after I said excuse me multiple times as she walked by to alert her of the raw meat. After reading other reviews about food poisoning, I'd say they are true. I will not be coming back here, especially after seeing similar experiences in the reviews here. This place shouldn't be allowed to serve food, they should be shut down. Where's the health inspector?

well, we sat at 630 pm. Not crowded at all.
Submitted our ticket probably 10 minutes later ..... I don't know what happened, but 45 minutes later got 1 tray ( 7 rolls) for the 6 of us, when we ordered 14. Those 7, maybe 4 were actually on our list, other 3 ,idk. Asked where the rest of food was, told it was coming.... 15 min later, told , oh , no more coming, fill new form..... Ok , did that, thought they would at least rush it.... 1 hour later, still waiting, what the heck??
So much for 9 pm movie night. ....
... Update. . 1 hour and 8 minutes it arrives with attitude .
Taste was ok, but service and attitude are unacceptable
If you can't handle/don't want so many tables (was busy.. but not slamming busy), don't seat all the tables.... We won't be back

We arrived on Friday night with 3 couples ahead of us. Expected a wait we are a very patient couple Took 10 minutes to sit us, no issue. Then it took us 40 minutes to get half the order that we placed. Then asked multiple times if we'd like to order more. No we'd like the rest of what we've ordered. Also I ordered water 0 refill during the whole meal. Very disrespected will find another place to enjoy sushi. Ruined a nice date.

I called for a reservation and the employee on the phone did not take my name (should have been my first red flag) but assured me the table would be ready. Upon arrival the line to the counter was roughly 6 parties deep with 4 parties seated in the waiting area for their table to be ready. The woman behind the counter laughed at us when we finally made our way through the line and said we had a reservation. Will not return.

I recently visited this restaurant and was disappointed with my experience. My partner and I had ordered sushi for two, but were instead served sashimi for two. When we asked our server to confirm the name of the dish, they became offended and announced for everyone to hear about our concern with the dish. They then proceeded to mock us by having conversations within their group in their native language and calling out the dishes we had ordered in English. This was very unprofessional and made us feel embarrassed and uncomfortable. The food was also mediocre at best. I would not recommend this restaurant due to their lack of professionalism and poor service.

the staff is horribly rude. once we entered we were not greeted but told where to sit like we were dogs. we brushed it off and when asked what we wanted to eat, she was very dismissive of everything and impatient with us. One of me and my friends were sharing a plate and I had informed the waitress we would be sharing the entree. the waitress then said "your sharing right?" and I responded with "yes we are". she walks away and our food takes FOREVER to come out despite the place being a ghost town. When she comes out with the food she brings two separate entrees for me and my friend when we said we would share an entree. she storms off and says "your still paying for the salad" (is usually brought out first), which we did not eat. she took back the extra entree with the uneaten salad and tried to charge us for it. When bringing her back to the table saying we weren't gonna pay for it she stormed off once again but yelling "OH MY GOD". The service was disgusting, the food was disgusting, the attitude from all the staff was disgusting and the attentiveness was lacking. This place clearly does not know how to keep a business thriving. At the end when bringing the check, tip is added to the bill automatically. The environment of this place was bitter. Never coming back. HORRIBLE!!! no stars if possible.

So, we usually don't write reviews - positive or negative but had to this time. We read the mixed reviews for Kumo but since we like to try all you can eat sushi places, we thought that we would give it a try. My wife doesn't care for Sushi and Kumo offered Hibachi dishes on the AYCE so that worked out well.
First the good: Everything from the kitchen (cooked) part was excellent. The Hibachi dishes were very good including the noodles/fried rice. All of the other kitchen/cooked items we ordered were great as well. The food came out pretty quick and the overall table service was very good. With that being said, the waitresses never smiled and were just not friendly at all as if they didn't want the customers to be there and/or they didn't want to be there themselves. They filled our water glasses quickly though:) Red Bean and Green Tea ice cream was good,
Now the bad: The sushi/sashimi was possibly the worst sushi/sashimi that we have ever had. The squid you could barely chew and we were not able to eat that, the mackerel was just thrown on top of the rice and had a strange taste to it. The sashimi was either cut too thick or not cut at all in a presentable way and we actually had pieces of fish that were hardly cut and just put on the plate as sashimi. One positive - we had a Spicy salmon hand roll and an Eel Avocado hand roll and they were great. Best hand rolls that we have had in a long time.
Would NEVER go back to Kumo!!!
We will try Sushi Palace next but the best AYCE Sushi based on the Sushi/Sashimi is definitely Sakana in East Hanover.

$27-30 a person for all you can eat. It was clean and the severs were nice. I went to a large party who rented the entire back section. They made food as you ordered it’s not one of those buffet places where they have the food under a heat lamp. It’s a lot of food so be cautious with ordering. Ended up sharing a lot of my food. There’s plenty of options for everyone even those who don’t eat meat. Clean and fast. It was a decent place to go to.

after going there for years and have enjoyed the all you can eat i was very disappointed when my husband and i went on saturday afternoon. there were not a lot of people eating and the usual male staff wasn’t working we ordered our kitchen items and then our sushi. the sushi came first and i asked where the kitchen items were and she said they are coming. i was annoyed because i always eat my calamari and other items first and then dive into my sushi rolls. the calamari was hard and chewy. the seaweed and edamame were good. the two rolls we ordered love roll and kumo asian tasted the same. we spent $75 for this and didn’t enjoy it at all. we won’t be coming back. will try the place around the corner instead.

Decent for AYCE. A little disappointed that they removed yellow tail off the sashimi options. But food is good. Cooked options are decent and delicious. Sushi and sashimi options are plenty and delicious as well. Fish on the sushi was nicely thick so they don't skimp you on fish.

Food is so good! But I'm giving it 3 star because 1 of the server used the bathroom and did not wash her hands... Ugh

Specialty rolls were delicious and the sushi was fresh, but they put a lot of rice in the rolls in an obvious ploy to make you full and limit "all you can eat."
Waitresses were really good at ignoring my group which wasn't a huge deal but it was a little annoying.

One here with a bunch of people for unlimited sushi and hibachi lunch which was actually really good the service could have been a bit better but other than that everything was great the food was amazing

We have come to this place a few times. I just started coming here summer 2021 and now I’m April 2022 the price has gone up by almost $2 per person. The rolls are huge which makes it hard to eat anything else. We came here on a Sunday and the price outside of their door clearly says it’s $26.75 on sundays and once we had already paid we realized that they charged us almost $29 per person. When confronted she told me I was wrong.

I rarely give poor reviews, but this was beyond disappointing. Our party got our food dishes spread out over 20 minutes. Some of us were done eating before the others got their food.
The chirashi sushi I ordered was abysmal. The salmon was bland but palatable, but probably not actual salmon (common in cheaper sushi places)
The tuna was completely rotten, I immediately spat it out and lost my appetite. I thought it was a bit off color but tried it anyway. I've never had bad sushi served in my life. (Tuna pictured at top left of photo).
Edit a few days later: I was sick for a few days there after eating here.
Absolutely disgusted, strongly recommend avoiding this one.

We have been a lot of different all you can eat sushi places. This was our first time at this restaurant.
We ordered some nigiri and rolls- they were unexpectedly huge. Never seen such big nigiri. Rice part was about 4 or more times bigger than other all you can eat sushi restaurants’. Comparing to the supermarkets’ sushi, they bring much bigger and pressed, dense amount of rice. When I pick one piece with chopsticks, it breaks easily with its weight. I thought why do they make like this way- it’s like a rice ball. 🍙
We usually don’t order too much, but this time could not finish because of the size so we had to pay extra. Waiters did not inform us beforehand that their sushi’s are much bigger than other restaurants’.
And some fish were off. Some are not fresh enough.

Always love it here

Food is very good here and I love their business model. Just one set price and the order whatever you want. But make sure you eat everything you order because they will charge you extra if you waste anything, which in my opinion is completely understandable. Speaking of the cost, this place is pretty pricy which is why I don't come here as much as I want to, and the service is a little slow. But overall this is a very good place and serves easily the best sushi I have ever had.

Our new go-to sushi place in Somerville. Good sushi selection. Much nicer atmosphere than Sushi Palace (the competition around the corner). The restaurant is roomy and there is actually space between the tables so you don't feel like you are sharing a table with your neighbors (eg Sushi Palace). The staff did not pressure us to leave which allowed us to have a relaxing meal.
8/22/18 update - Went to Kumo for lunch. The lunch menu is limited (no sushi or sashimi) but the rolls are still good.
2/16/22 update - Still our go-to sushi place. Good food and service.

The waitresses are very unwelcoming. They don't speak a lick of english and don't like to be asked any questions. Food was ok, didn't taste or smell the freshest. They get points for having smoked salmon and tuna sashimi.
Update 2/14/2022/- Service is horrendous. One thing I do not tolerate is being talked down to. I will not be spending another dime with this business.

I used to go to Kumo for all you can eat, Sushi! It was good until last year. Everything went downhill. Not a choice to have a quality sushi place for all-you-can eat anymore! Price over-charged for a low quality of food and service! 😕

We had dinner here tonight. Hibachi Steak was great! thats 2 stars!! Shrimp tempuras, calamari, were oily. Salmon was over cooked. We had found out the stuff on the tuna. We don’t know if that were blood vessels or worm parasites. When we asked our waitress to check the tuna. She grabbed my plate and showed to Sushi chefs for that. I was just wondering why didn’t she directly have the manager over so we can discuss details regarding of this easy solved issue. We were not asking for free meals. I used to work at Asian Fusion Restaurant in Montauk as assistant manager. As the situation what I described normally either re make the food or free of charge.
We were all shocked for how they handled the situation like this.
We asked for check and left.
Ps: the management may need to train all the staff in the restaurant, sushi chefs may need to know the language what they speak will be understood by their customers. Waitress are really need to know how to greet customers. At least, “please, thank you. Goodbye”.

No one picks the listed phone number. No one talks/understand proper English. Ordering in person was so tough, I was happy no one was picking phone. Everything that was listed on the menu was not available/present. I don't know for sure because the person just gave us back a dead stare! Unbelievable

I was truly excited to try this place out, the interior was awesome and the place was packed! A friend and I started off with some appetizers from the kitchen menu and we were pleasantly surprised. However, we later received dishes our table did not order. I have to also comment about the size of the sushi servings as they were extremely large for us to properly enjoy the all-you-can-eat experience. We were not given another menu after we finished our first round of food. Once we were done, we were ignored by the waitresses while other people got prompt service and it was just a poor experience overall. I suggest taking a picture of your orders each time to avoid confusion of getting food you didn't even want. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place to any sushi lovers out there but the appetizers are worth trying for sure.

Great food, horrible service - charge you for a to-go box
Went to this establishment for this first time about an hour ago. When I arrived, the person I was meeting wasn't there yet. The hostess/waitress just said "ok" and walked away. I was curious if I could sit without my other half yet, but ended up standing there awkwardly.
The other person arrives and we have to ask to take a seat.
The place is BYO, which is fine. Other half went to get wine. During that time I had someone bring me our drinks plus an appetizer. I said "hello" and "thank you". No response from anyone coming to our table.
But here's where it gets interesting. My friend and I ordered a good amount of food. It was "on the company" - its 4th quarter, we are stressed and so unbelievably busy we just want a drink and food. Knowing we had to go out that evening to events and we wouldn't be able to grab a bite to eat before going out, we figured we'd just split the left over sushi which was a few random pieces and a full roll we hadn't touched yet.
Oh my goodness! The waitress tell us "extra charge".
For what?
"Box".
Wait, the box to put our food in?
"Yes, you pay extra".
What do you do with the food if we don't take it.
"Throw out".
So you want to charge me for a to go box or just throw out food?
"you want box or not?"
we said, no thank you.
She brought the bill with a $5 charge for a to go box.
We sent the bill back, "take your $5 off".
Here's the picture of my sushi roll I carried out in a napkin (and my purse stinks like sushi).
First, last and only time.
Its a shame because the food was really really good.
But you can't get more than a one star with that type of attitude and behavior.
My friend and I are very empathic. We get it b/c we too are stressed, short staffed and under an extreme about of pressure.
But we all are.
Be nice. Be kind.
Don't be like this.

Sushi was mediocre. Hibachi fried rice? Hibachi fried noodles? Rice was steamed and noodles were microwaved. Teriyaki chicken and salmon were cold and tasted nothing like. I ordered more but it just wasn't a pleasant experience. I am a huge fan japanese food and am not new to the all-you-can-eat experience but this was just terrible.

Looking for all you can eat sushi? Then you've found the right place. We went to this place not knowing that they had this as an option and were pleasantly surprised. They closed at 9 which is kind of early for a Saturday so make sure to plan accordingly.

Been coming here for two years. Used to be good but in the last year service went downhill. Servers are rude, never bring a second menu, ignore you and walk right by your table. Food takes forever and consistently has been wrong. Be prepared to sit for 2+ hours if you want multiple servings. Raised their weekend prices from 25 to 27. Sushi isn't as good as it was, hard and obviously frozen. I gave it a bunch of chances but one time we sat for 3 hours waiting for a second menu to the point that we gave up, left cash on the table, and left. So sad this place went downhill. Go to sushi palace instead. Better food and better service. Right around the corner.

Decent food, horrible service. All waiters are rude and abrupt. The menu is a scam - they say you only have to pay 25$ for entry, but they will charge you 1$ for every 2 pieces that you ordered and didn't finish. If you're looking for a good place to dine-in - look elsewhere!

I’ve been going to this place with a family for years. The food was ok. However, last night there was a bug in my meal. Needless to say, I will never go back there again. But what strike me the most is that they were so casual about it like the big was a part of the meal. Unbelievable.

byob, sushi, and all you can eat... not sure where you can go wrong. But seriously the specialty roles alone are worth the price.

This is my upteenth time visiting, always good. A bit pricier almost $30 now due to pandemic market. Not following pandemic recommendations here and maskless waiting groups were packing it in . Giving scraps of paper with number on it, you wait till called. Not classy and cheapens the experience to a chinese buffet expeience. Service was really good and attentive. Fresh and tasty sushi offerings better than other places in the area.

All you can eat sushi that's fresh and delicious. They get very busy so sometimes what you order can be slightly off but I wouldn't be able to keep track of all the rolls the dozens and dozens of people order. Best thing to do is go in with a game plan before you hand in your order. It's BYOB so pour some wine or crack a beer and figure out what you can eat and want. Great way to try new things with a big group. Get some of the appetizers to start off and then a few rolls for the group and you'll be set!

My husband and I have been going to Kumo and ordering for take out at Kumo on a regular basis. However, tonight, we went with some friends and we’re highly disappointed with the service. We had a large group and most of the table had all you can eat. Only two people from the group ordered non all your can eat. They could barely keep up with how many people were all you can eat. Then our order didn’t come out correctly. For example - we ordered fried calamari and it came out fried octopus; we ordered shrimp tempura rolls and they came out shrimp tempura (no rolls) plus other mistakes. For those with al you can eat - we ordered one multiple papers based on where we were sitting and they added rolls we didn’t want and they were mixing the rolls all up. We complained to the manager and after all said and done, they did take half our meals off the bill. We are highly disappointed. We aren’t sure if we’ll even be back…even for take out.

Very good selection, I'd probably give it three $$$ as lunch is $27 on Fridays, a little slow on the service, however the food is fresh so that makes up for that I think, and staff at least seemed attentive.
I will say they were a bit heavy on the rice in the special rolls and sushi, but the sashimi was great. Worth stopping in.
